Q: browsers crash when visiting dailymotion - ntdll.dll is the problem?

I am running win 7, 64bit professional. Whenever my web browsers try to open clips on dailymotion.com (i use mainly google chrome and mozilla firefox) they crash. Earlier none of them could load videos on dailymotion.com but now they crash.

The error report from chrome about the crash said the following:

The crazy thing is - I don't have any addons installed on firefox so I am leaning against the ntdll.dll being the file that is messing things up. Does anybody have any tips on how to fix this problem?
I've had one crash or two on youtube.com as well using firefox.

A: browsers crash when visiting dailymotion - ntdll.dll is the problem?

There could be a lot of things that are causing this, something that all the browsers would be using, Flash, Antivirus or other security software. But no, ntdll.dll is not the cause a lot of things use it because it is the system. So you will see it a lot in crash dumps.

I've had this problem for quite some time. Last time there's just no video showing even though there's audio playing in the background. But now when I open Dailymotion on my mozilla firefox, it crashes immediately.

I've uninstalled MF and Flash player and reinstall them again but it's still not working. Dailymotion is working fine with IE, and this depends as well.

Please help me thanks a lot.

Version of mozilla - 3.6.24 (i'm using the old version one cause there are some add on that are disabled in the latest verion)

Hello everyone,

I am encountering a strange problem. I am not able to play dailymotion videos on any of my browsers. I have Firefox,Chrome installed other than Internet Explorer. It used to work perfectly well till few days back ,but it stopped working suddenly. All I am getting now is the html version ( Error Screen shot)
of the site getting loaded.

I have Windows Vista installed on my machine. I don't remember installing any new plugins or softwares on my machine. Youtube and metacafe videos are playing well but the problem is with dailymotion only

I tried loading a site which embeds dailymotion videos, but all I am getting is
"an error occurred dailymotion player is not defined at undefined line undefined" on the player

I googled for the problem and found some solutions to the problem.

Unable to access specific website, getting error - Microsoft Answers

I tried all the methods suggested in the above site, Installing newer version of Java, adobe flash player and running malwarebytes to remove any malware. But still no luck for me.

Please help me in how to proceed further. I will be very thankful.

Thanks

Hi Folks,

My computer has been taken over by a virus and I am now only able to visit certain websites that require a password to enter. (facebook, mobileme, banking, etc). Cannot browse general websites (google, msn, windows, etc.). This ocurred on Dec 31st about 2:11PM as I tried to install a program that scanned OK with Norton AV. I then downloaded Twister Anti-Trojan and scanned the file to find out that it was infected with Trojan.Agent.dsci.ynkb. I have tried the Windows Malware Removal and it didn't correct my problem. I cannot find any information about this trojan on the web. Norton AV did give me alerts after the fact stating that conhost.exe was blocked from download by hxxp://4kversions.biz/gsver/gsver.php?sft=master-keystroke-logger-10.11.01&idm=800023

I have unplugged my connection to the internet until I can resolve this.

I have scanned my computer and have attached the files as requested. Any assistance will be appreciated. PS - I am on a different CPU to enter in this request.

My computer has the preloaded restore information (windows) on the D: drive of this computer.
Thanks Gerard

Hello,

I've recently discovered a problem with my computer. After visiting certain sites and clicking on a second link on that site, both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer will crash. So far, I have found this problem corresponds to two different sites, Lords of Pain (Wrestling News Site) and [email protected] (School Site). I was going to post this in the Malware Removal forum, but then I saw this topic in the forum. I also have noticed that the problem does not occur if I use Google Chrome, but I would much rather use Mozilla Firefox. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello BrianJBustos,I see that you have an HJT log posted here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/211124/computer-running-slow-browsers-crashing-ff-ie/ We do not allow more than one topic for the same computer and the same issue as this causes confusion, and in this case may make the disinfection process more difficult. This leaves you with a choice:1) Have this thread reopened and the HiJack This log topic deletedOR2) Keep this thread closed and wait for assistance in the HiJack This log forum. Hi
I have been having some malware issues with my laptop off late.
I am running Windows XP Professional.
My problem is that past few weeks due to some non-descript usage of my laptop its probably got affected badly.
I have been running SuperAntiSpyware and MalwareBytes to remove the malwares. Most of the malwares seem to have gone.
Now I have this particular problem where after running for a while I get this Windows message saying Generic Host Process killed.
If I look at it says svchost.exe crashed in ntdll.dll.
After this the network adaptors go berzerk. Removal of ethernet cable is not detected and most network operations fail. At this point of time svchost.exe shows to be consuming 50% cpu cycles.
I had encountered this problem couple of months back as well. THat time I accidentally found ComboFix not knowing anything about it.
I did not even know of this forum. I installed it and it cleaned up some malwares which I dont remember. But once it did that, everything was fine till this happened again.
Now although I have the ComboFix console installed, the system is behaving the same way.
Please help.

Thanks
Gaurav

in one of the solutions it said that it could be a problem with an addon in IE so i tried disabling addons one by one. once i disable "shockwave flash object" the problem doesn't occur but then i cant watch the video anyway because its disabled. so i tried reinstalling adobe flash player and shockwave player but it didn't do anything.

i tried cleaning my registry and did a full computer scan with norton. i didn't download any new programs from what i can recall...it just started crashing. youtube works fine tho. also i hav tried changing to IE7 and even IE9 but problem persists. this problem occurs even wif firefox.

A:IE 8 crash ntdll.dll (win7x64)

Flash is indeed crashing - changing versions of IE isn't going to help. There is an uninstall program to actually fully remove Flash from your computer (from Adobe). I would run that, reboot, and then make sure all else works in IE before going back to Adobe and installing Flash again. If the problems continue after that, you'd have to get with Adobe tech support. Hopefully that won't be necessary, and the previous steps will be sufficient.

I recently did a reinstall of Windows Vista Home Premium after having some difficulties with explorer crashing frequently.
The common factor was that ntdll.dll was showing up in all the crashes. Now with a fresh install, drivers, and a few programs the problem persists.
As I type this post, I can not access the event viewer as it causes a crash as it causes an error and will not open.

In the error reports that I was able to view had both "explorer.exe" listed and on other occasions "Explorer.EXE" if that has anything to do with it.
I'm at the end of my rational patience, so I decided to come here and see if anyone has suggestions, also mods if this requires a log to be posted, please the thread to the appropriate area.

Hi my name is Ken Carrier and I am new to the forums. I am currently having a problem with SVCHOST.EXE & NTDLL.DLL crashing when the computer starts. It seems that when any programs tries to update the svchost.exe crashes and the system becomes unusable. If there is anyone out there who can help me I would really appreciate it.

Every time I try to watch a music video on internet explorer it says "IE has encountered a problem and needs to close". The error report says modname: ntdll.dll and the following files included in the error report are C:\DOCUME~1\Kam\LOCALS~1\Temp\feda_appcompat.txt

Windows Meida Player does the same thing if I am trying to use it to view a video.

I went to start/run and typed in "regsvr32 ntdll.dll" and it says "ntdll.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file cannot be registered."

Another error it often says instead of "ntdll.dll" is "pavlsp.dll" which I believe is my Panda Antivirus Software. I reinstalled it hoping it would fix the problem, but it did not.

But no matter how many times I reload same message.

Could view vids on Saturday (i.e. 2 days ago) and don't think anything changed on my laptop except I downloaded the latest version of itunes...

Any ideas?

yes im aware there is a tenforums for w10 however it seems mostly dead there. i did post a thread there though

so the latest update has caused my machine to open and close windows explorer every second or so. this renders the machine nearly unusable as the loop causes clicks to not be registered or cleared sometimes. i know that this is the update because i did a system restore before the update and it returned to normal. however last night windows decided to update again when i restarted my computer there is no way to disable the updates on preview. -__- i cant restore anymore and am stuck with a nonfuntioning computer because of this "feature". i tried a clean boot with same symptoms as well as another account. i have tracked the issue down to ntdll.dll via event viewer displaying errors causing explorer.exe to crash.

this is the full information from event viewer.

Note : Please don't ignore this question if you think that it is a wxWidgets application(without reading complete question) and
should look by wxWidgets development community.

Hi,

I work on a wxWidgets application project(say X). It works fine on Win 7 but it crashes on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

My application X calls an executable(say Y) as blocking call as mentioned below

wxString lName = WDir + wxT("my.log");
int ReturnCode = 0 ;
wxString lCmd = IDir + wxT("Y.exe -l ") + lName;
ReturnCode = (int)wxExecute(lCmd, wxEXEC_SYNC); //the argument "wxEXEC_SYNC" (alone or with wxEXEC_BLOCK or wxEXEC_NOEVENTS)

In 400 times Y crashes(and so X crashes ) 5 to 6 times and the call stack points "[email protected]()".
When I calls Y in standalone mode(in a test program, Y called by other executable) with the same argument(mentioned above), it does not crash. It crashes
only when
I call from my wxWidgets application project. In the code(Y) it sometime crashes while creating a file or closing a file.

So, my question is
"When an application(X) calls an executable(Y) and the executable(Y) do some operation where it requires switching, the Win8.1 or Win 10 system API sends
the parent thread(X) as dead status for Y
and X starts to dispatch the event loop for closing Y but Y suddenly wake up after completing the operation. Since parent(X) thread already detached it as

This is happening on all computers with version 1607:
1- While searching for a keyword in a network drive, if the corresponding file resides deep in the folder tree (a very long path or a path close/above the windows character number limit), explorer crashes with event id 1000; 0xc0000374; explorer.exe caused ntdll.dll to crash.

2- After the first time the above bug happens, now everytime i try to click file explorer with the standard "go to quick access view", the same crash happens. When switching the standard view to "show this PC" instead, explorerl opens properly. I suppose the quick access memorized the path of my network search and it crashes as a result.

Important:
To rule out variables, I prepared a new computer with a fresh windows 10 install with nothing installed.
-Without windows updates (version 1511 IIRC), the problem does not exist.

-After installing the latest updates (version 1607) the problem appears immediately.

This is reproducible 100% of the time on fresh installs with nothing but update 1607 installed. How do I proceed to submit this bug to microsoft?
thanks

G'day.

I'm currently having a lot of trouble here viewing streaming videos off youtube and dailymotion style sites.

Youtube is less of an issue. the videos load. but rather slowly.

Daily motion however i have problems with as the videos some times do not load at all. or if they do like youtube they are VERY choppy.

another thing i noticed was with youtube the progress bar does not move accross, it just remains grey.. then when the video has finished (or its gotten part way and given up) it shows the bar as full.

Now i was wondering if anyone had any ideas why this might be. I just reformated my computer (problem was occuring before i did it, and now after) i have a fair decent internet connectiong (1500kbps) and these are videos that i can pretty much stream, or watch with a short amount of time on a 512kbps account at my fathers house..

thanks heaps for any advice

About a week ago I got a popup from Norton Internet Security that said "We've detected an intrusion attempt from such and such IP address with the DeepThroat Trojan. This attack was blocked."

I didn't like the way that sounded so I did research on that trojan, but from what I read on the internet it didn't sound like I had it.

I ran scans with:
SpyBoy
AdAware
Norton Anti-Virus
Panda ActiveScan

And all came up clean.

Then some people said AVG was a good anti-virus, so I downloaded that, ran it, it came up clean, and then I deleted it because it slowed my computer down like crazy (constant 100% CPU usage, etc.)

Ever since then, I've been getting weird warnings and weird random program crashes.

I downloaded Firefox 3 the other day and it crashes a LOT. Some of the other programs I run have been randomly crashing, too (stock trading and charting programs).

I decided I was going to do a system restore to a month ago, but when I went into System Restore, ALL MY RESTORE POINTS WERE GONE!! I know I didn't delete them, so I'm wondering if some malware I picked up did.

I use Firefox for browsing 99.9% of the time so I usually feel safe surfing the web.

I'm using WinXP SP2.

edit - I forgot to mention that I came home from the gym the other day and when I got to my computer Firefox had crashed, all my other programs had crashed, and when I restarted Firefox, my computer rebooted. When it rebooted, there was a message from TeaTimer saying th... Read more

I have been having consistent trouble with windows freezing, browsers crashing, shockwave crashing and especially anything video related crashing. When it crashes it freezes my entire computer forcing me to hard reboot.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled browsers and programs to no avail.

The latest attempt was running Kapersky, Avast, Spybot, Hijack, CCleaner (fixing registry problems and wiping free space drive), defragging, uninstalling programs down to bare bones essentials.

Ran Kapersky - found nothing
Avast - found nothing
Hijack this found all kinds of stuff that I didn't know what to do with and wouldn't give me a log
Spybot S&D.- 43 problems fixed
Ccleaner download registry.

I uninstalled and installed adobe flash which is what keeps crashing.
defragged
uninstalled half of my programs
wiped drives with ccleaner

Ran everything again. Spybot found more to fix which it did.

I then Rebooted in safe mode and was able to save a log for HiJack this time.
I followed the suggested Preparation Guide here. After running GMER scan is says "Hasn't found any system modification"
The ark.txt log was blank. Services, Registry, Files and C: were the only boxes it allowed me to checkmark. Everything else was greyed out.

Below is a copy of the Hijack log that I was able to get after rebooting in Safe Mode and the DDS file.

Hey there..

I have recently upgraded to windows 8 pro and since then my taskbar frequently crash's.. Under the eventlog it tells me that it is due to an ntdll.ddl file.. I have noticed that the crash usually happens when i have an open folder..

After looking at different forums, the faulting ntdll.dll could be caused by a faulting driver.. My laptop has switchable graphics and i am using a third party driver, could this be the problem? If not, anybody have an idea?

I have attached system info in zip.

A:Explorer.exe / ntdll.dll crash.. Explorer closes and reloads..

Yes third party drivers on switchable graphics have been a big problem, try using the drivers from the manufacturer.

I have used my computer for around 2 years, had one hard-drive removed, had windows changed, etc. Since around 20 days when I start Skype, Messenger and Metin2 they turn into not responding right when I start them and the last 2 close. I've checked in Event Viewer at administrative events and it seems like all of them are stopped by the ntdll.dll file. I tried lots of fixes found on google but none of them worked for me. I've reinstalled my anti-virus(norton internet security) but it still doesn't work. I've reinstalled all the programs like 10 times and still nothing. Thanks in advance for any kind of help.

Hi there
As subject says any browsers i use keep crashing on me and it's becoming increasingly frustrating. I mainly use google chrome or firefox but IE crashes too. I checked the add-ons for firefox and they are only avg add-ons(safe search and security toolbar)
In the add on list is also microsoft .net framework assistant which is greyed out because it's not compatible with firefox 3.5.4 that's been there only in the last few days, my browsers have always crashed.
Firefox gets so bad that every week or so it crashes before it even opens and i have to uninstall and reinstall it
I have 2 gig of ram, a gforce 9600 graphics card and am running xp if any of that helps?
Thanks,
samantha

My wife's computer developed a problem Saturday morning. All browsers (Maxthon I & II, IE8 and Yahoo IM) crash as soon as you try to use them. She uses AVG and it will no longer update. She appears to be able to get online as she shows on my Yahoo IM window when she connects. Any ideas as to what we can try? Her computer is a Gateway 6520GZ Laptop running XP with service pack 2. Any help would be great.

Can't figure out what's happening here. Firefox, my usual, is particularly crash prone and I don't understand why. Other browsers are no better. I've done the driver update thing and also defragged my hard drive but I'm still having problems of unknown origin.

A related thing, apparently, is that my Office 2003 is now demanding that I use the original bootup disk before it will come on without a lot of hassle. Well, we've moved since we bought this computer and the bootup disks must be in some box in the garage which would take HOURS to find. Why did my office programs suddenly need reauthorization? Is this Microsoft trying to get me to buy Office 2007?

There was an old post about this, nobody replied to it, but I have the same thing after running Hensence Mediabox. It ran beautifully the first time, then at the next boot, no browsers would run, in fact, anything that tried to access the internet would crash.

The trouble is caused by this registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinSock2\Parameters\Protocol_Catalog9\Catalog_Entries]

Mediabox modifies some entries here, which is how it does its sniffing. But it screws up the whole TCP/IP stack.
Maybe it worked ok on XP, but not on 7 or 8, it seems. What I would suggest is to export this whole registry key before you install Mediabox. Then, when disaster strikes later on, you can import it and all should be well. If it's too late for that, you can export the key from an uncontaminated machine and import it into your broken one. Regedit does this easily.

On Windows 8.1, I had simultaneously had failure of the USB mouse, it being not recognized no matter which port I plugged it into. I don't know if that is related to Mediabox or just a coincidence.

This is a real shame, because Mediabox is the only media sniffer I have found that really works. But only once. I hope the developer knows this and is working on a fix.

I have an HP Pavilion dm4 laptop. It came with Win 7 64 bit OS installed.
I am a researcher and a heavy user of internet resources. All browsers I have tried repeatedly crash on this system.

IE 8 or 9 crash so frequently I cannot even get a search in.

Firefox crashes frequently and will not let me run a pdf add-in that displays the pdf within the browser window. I can work around that, but the crash frequency is so often that it disrupts my work. I cannot extract data I have searched for before it crashes.

Chrome 7.0.517.44 runs the best. When it crashes it does so gracefully and I do not lose my place. But it does crash at least 6 times a day. I also cannot upload GED files to ancestry.com and as I am a genealogist that is a problem. I also cannot upload image files to my blogspot blog. Also drop down menu text remains on the screen interferring with the print screens I need to capture for clients.

Where do I turn for help. I am ready to just trash this PC at this point.

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. Here is a guide on how to disable them

Click me
Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

One of the reason the Mozila Crashes would likely be a faulty RAM. Please check your system's memory by using any memory checking software. If you find any read/write errors by running that software, you could probably save the day by replacing your machine's memory.

My computer has been working perfectly for a long time. Although, my computer turned off one night (power lead came out) while browsing and its never been the same.

- The browser locks up (No matter what browser I use)
- Have to keep refreshing browser for it to get to the webpage. for example, when first logging onto chrome google wont show up, till i hit refresh a couple times.
- SOME icons dont show up on websites (shows me broken image links)

(In chrome it shows up as broken image file, in windows explorer Simple red X's)I think it might be .PNG files and JPEG.)Basically some thumbnails just dont show up.

Whats interesting is if i right click the broken image links on chrome it will come up as

This web page is not available
The web page at chrome-devtools://devtools/devtools.html?docked=true&toolbar_color=rgba(223,223,223,1)&text_color=rgba(18,50,114,1) might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

On internet explorer, on the broken image links on 'sizing' says unavailable.

Running windows vista sp2.My internet connection is fine, and chat programs, autoupdates, etc still work. However, all browsers hang or crash shortly after starting up (Chrome, Firefox, and IE). Chrome will load any page for an instant, but then show the crash/error screen (even on offline tabs like the downloads list). Firefox will run for a short while, but hang on certain pages (igoogle and quite a few others) and always crash entirely after several minutes. The processes still show up in task manager, but the windows are gone. No other common virus symptoms appear (control panel and task manager still work properly, virus scans have no trouble installing, etc), but the problem seemed to start after visiting some less-than-trustworthy websites. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling chrome, but nothing changed.Ran several virus scans and spyware detectors without finding anything. All browsers work properly in safe mode (with networking). Below is the pseudo HJT log. RootRepeal unfortunately hangs during initialization, instantly grabbing 2GB of ram and saturating one core of the processor. I'm not sure whether that's related or not to my other problem. Bump Any ideas would be fantastic :/===========Hello While we understand your frustration at having to wait, please note that Bleeping Computer deals with several hundred requests for assistance such as yours on a daily basis. As a result, our backlog is quite large as are other comparable sites that help others with malware issues. Although our HJT Team members work on hundreds of requests each day, they are all volunteers who work logs when they can and are able to do so. No one is paid by Bleeping Computer for their assistance to our members.Further, our malware removal staff is comprised of team members with various levels of skill and expertise to deal with thousands of malware variants, some more complex than others. Although we try to take DDS/HJT logs in order (starting with the oldest), it is often the skill level of the particular helper and sometimes the operating system that dictates which logs get selected first. Some infections are more complicated than others and require a higher skill level to remove. Without that skill level attempted removal could result in disastrous results. In other instances, the helper may not be familiar with the operating system that you are using, since they use another. After a number of problems that no one seemed able to fix I Reinstalled my OS, yah it was a joy, finally got most of my software reinstalled and my pc working again but the browsers (firefox/IE) will not stop crashing, especially when I open my old bookmarks or favorites. I've tried a number of solutions that haven' helped. Have windows firewall and anti-virus turned off, AVG free installed and running. Have run back ups, scanned and fixed registry, defragged, dumped cookies & temp files. Did have to try a couple times to install adobe flash. Have seen that that was a problem for some people but their solution for it didn't help me (removing a file from IE).

My computer is old but it's what I have = Dell Dimension 3000 Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 Ghz, 2Gb RAM with 1Tb external drive, Windows XP service pack 2 home Edition. I never had this particular problem with FF though I rarely used IE because it just never seemed to work properly from the start. I have a DSL connection.

If someone could help I'd really appreciate it.
Cole

A:Reinstalled OS and now browsers crash

It doesn't sound to me like you did a hard drive format and fresh install of Windows XP SP2.

If you did, you should've installed the SP3 upgrade afterwards, then installed all the post-SP3 high-priority updates - including upgrading IE6 or IE7 to IE8.

You want to get the operating system completely up-to-date before you start installing programs and playing with that computer.

I'm writing this on behalf of my Girlfriend as she now has no access to sites like this.

Whenever she tries to open a browser, it will crash before even reaching the home page. This is with Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome. In Safe Mode the browsers open fine.

The issue started a day or two ago after a windows 7 update. The computer restarted itself while she was asleep and when she woke up none of her browsers were working any more.

We've tried re-installing Google Chrome, and it did not solve the situation. Firefox was not on the computer at the time of the issue arrising, so I sent her an installer for Firefox and it encountered the same problem when attempting to start up.

Other than access to Web Browsers, there are no other issues with her internet, she can be on Skype fine, on Steam fine, she can download and upload files through other mediums such as the file browser in Teamspeak, or send them through Skype.

Hi there! I'm having this REALLY frustrating problem. My computer has just come back from repair, and works fine apart from this really peculiar problem with internet browsers and windows live messenger. Whenever I try to start any internet browser or windows live messenger, the following happens:

Google Chrome: Starts up fine, but crashes as soon as I type in the address bar
IE x86: Doesn't even load, crashes instantly
Firefox: Doesn't load. Crashes instantly.
Safari: Works for a few minutes and then will crash
Windows Live messenger: Crashes instantly
IE x64: What i'm using now, works absolutely fine (apart from the fact that it's internet explorer, and horribly slow)

I tried to install malwarebytes anti-malware to get rid of any possible malware, but I get the following error trying to install it. I have to close the install with CTRL+ALT+DEL because the error infinite loops:

---------------------------
Setup
---------------------------
Access violation at address 89F4C483. Read of address 89F4C483.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I have installed hijackthis though, shall I post a log of it? I'm using Vista Ultimate x64 by the way.

Thanks!! I really hope this really annoying, frustrating and peculiarly random problem can get fixed!

Hey guys! My mom has been having an annoying problem with her computer (Windows XP). It first started with IE7 showing an error message (IE has encountered a problem and needs to shut down) whenever she clicked on it, and so it never worked. The weird thing is, IE would work on other accounts on the computer, so we just assumed something was wrong with her account and had her use the guest account. A couple days later, the same thing started happening on the guest account. After that, IE7 miraculously got better on her account when we tried. But now it's pooped out again. I've installed Firefox, and at first it worked great-now it's going through the same problems. It won't show an error message, but after I open it and try to go to a website, it'll automatically shut off on me after no more than 10 seconds online. So far, I've ran VirusScan and Windows Defender and it hasn't picked up anything; I've tried uninstalling programs that I didn't recognize; deleting programs that looked strange to me but the problem still persists. I just ran HiJack and this is the log:Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved at 16:39:52, on 2010-1-20Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16945)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.e... Hello, On Tuesday 6/15/10 everything was functional. On Thursday 6/16/10 my IE and Firefox browsers started crashing immediately upon opening them. I paid closer attention to the ZoneAlarm pop ups and it seems that IE will first try to connect to a 1000ish port, the last time was port 1062, prior to requesting DNS then closes. I ran AVG, Ad-Aware, and Malwarebytes which only found cookies and did not resolve my problems. I performed a system restore from 35 days ago which did not resolve the issue. I ran Spybot which found MyWay and two others I do not recall at this time. I went through the process of removing them. I subsequently ran Spybot again and SuperAntiSpyware which found nothing but Ad Aware tracking cookies and the problem persistes. So, here I am asking for assistance. Any would be appreciated. I've tried IE, Opera and Netscape and they all crash when I try to get to certain sites.. I just try to open certain pages and, I suspect, all these pages have java on them because the last time my IE crashed was when I was trying to open a chat room. I also have two "missing ~.dll" errors poping up every time I start windows.

So I turn on my computer today and whenever I try to access the Internet via my browsers (chrome Firefox and ie) they open for like 1 second and closes. It gives me the crash alert saying a problem has caused this problem to stop working. When I try to open it after, sometimes it doesn't open up at all or if I open it it opens for a second and automatically closes. The processes never show up on task manager when they crash. And none of these programs work in safe mode either.

I tried system restoring, scanned with avast, and uninstalled my browser and reinstalled to no avail. When I reinstalled, it said it downloaded and everything but same error and crash. Sometimes it doesn't even open at all, appearing in task manager but never opening and then disappearing from there. I can access the Internet through other programs such as AIM, steam chat, etc.

A:My Home Premium 64 Bit Got ntdll.dll Problem!!!

Patcher_1.exe, whatever that may be, is likely buggy. NTDLL.DLL is just about the most important DLL in the entire operating system, and it has the job of preventing apps from doing silly things.

In this case, the timestamp on patcher_1.exe is "Mon, 27 Oct 2008 06:28:04 UTC" (49055f74). Perhaps a newer version may contain a fix for the problem which causes this crash.

Hello, Ive been having an issue with windows 7 ever since i got it. I was originally running x64 and all was well until the explorer.exe started using 100% of my cpu randomly. Using process explorer i found it to be ntdll.dll that was the culprit, and killing the threads would only temporarily fix the issue.

Another big issue was that windows media player 12 would free often and i would have to restart it several times in order for it to work properly, which is a major annoyance to me since the main function of my laptop is for music.

Anyway, i decided to reformat yesterday to 32 bit windows 7 in hopes that it would fix the issue. The same day of reformatting i ended up having the same issue after transferring all my music, videos, pictures, etc back onto my laptop. This time, however it seems to be worse.

Whenever I select a folder with music to play, the player begins to play the music, and then freezes after 6 seconds. The music continues to play, however, the media player is no longer functioning. i can not skip, forward, stop, pause, etc at all and clicking the player brings up the "close the program, wait for program to start working" screen, every time. Using process explorer, it says that either wmpnetwrk.exe and/or wmplayer.exe is using 40% + of my cpu, often, one or both combined results in 100% usage of my cpu. Clicking either of the two brings up the ntdll.dll file as the culprit, once again.

I can not play any music without the media player freezing... Read more

Have you considered trying a different audio player? Since you haven't filled out your specs, I don't know what soundcard that you have, but I really like Creative's MediaSource. There are others that many people like, but none come to mind at the moment.

I know you guys are busy, but I cannot locate a fix for this.  Windows Update will not update.  It reads"0 of XXXKb" downloading, but never gets beyond that. I use three browsers because I hate Interent Explorer, but each crashes.  Comodo Dragon and Ice Dragon, Mozilla Firefox.  They simply crash.  Internet Explorer needs to be updated, but it took over ten minutes and still did not install. Windows Security Essentials stop working on their own. One more thing: my system is slow.  I've upgraded to a new motherboard and installed 16GB or RAM, but it is actually slower than the previous build. Any help would be appreciated. Cass

Hello,

I have picked up some nast viruses from somewhere online. Initially I had the "Your PC is infected wallpaper" and internet security 2010 coming up every 5 secondes. I was able to get rid of those with malware bytes, eset nod32, panda antivirus, ad-aware. However I think I still have virus symptoms. Some .exe programs won't run (I think they are .net framework apps) also my browsers crash every 5 seconds. I am attaching my HJT log. Any help would be appreciated.

I have been fighting with this for a long time now. It was so bad that I formatted the hard drive and installed a fresh version of XP Home onto the computer. After uploading all updates and making sure that the BOIS were all up to snuff with the computer, things seemed to be working for a day or so, but now it is happening again. Every time I open a browser, it crashes. IE will open one website and then reload. Firefox won't even open. hi guys first off thanks for any upcoming help.
the problem is simple, i tend to help out some friends with computer stuff every once in awhile. 2 days ago i got a call from one of them saying that his speakers weren't working. i checked his computer an couldn't figure it out, so i rolled back his pc to last month. that solved the problem, but 1 day after he couldn't go online. both his browsers would immediately crash upon start up. i have honestly no idea what is going on. i ran malwarebytes and super antispyware. both detected some stuff on the computer, but they haven't solved anything. i am running the gmer scan but it is not working out when the scan finishes it freezes up the pc and saving the log also. on 2 occasions i got a blue screen while running gmer, the screen says the problem was caused by the file axldqpoc.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. i will keep trying to get the log tu in the meantime ill lave the other logs.

here is the dds log:

Hello. I have been having a problem with Google Chrome crashing. At first it was only when I went on certain sites but now it's all the time. I tried Firefox and IE as well and have the same problem on the same sites. But other sites seem to be just fine in all three browsers. I did a few scans in safe and regular mode and it's saying I have nothing as far as infections go but the computer just isn't running right (lags, freezing up, error messages...one saying Windows Installer is missing but I can't reinstall it no matter what). So whatever it is, can you please help me remove it and fix any corrupted files it may have attacked?I tried to run DDS and got the message that it is not supported by my operating system. Then tried to run Root Repeal but a thing came up "program not responding" and then the whole computer froze up. I am running Windows Vista (I think it's home premium but not too sure).

A:Virus causing browsers to crash?

running Windows Vista (I think it's home premium but not too sure32 or 64 bit?Since DDS won't runPlease download RSIT by random/random and save it to your Desktop.Note: You will need to run this tool while connected to the Internet so it can download HijackThis if it is not located on your system. If you get a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding Rist attempting to contact the Internet, please allow the connection.Close all applications and windows so that you have nothing open and are at your Desktop.Double-click on RSIT.exe to start the program. If using Windows Vista, be sure to Run As Administrator.Click Continue after reading the disclaimer screen.Leave the drop down box set to default: "List/folders created or modified in the last 1 month (30 days). When the scan is complete, a text file named log.txt will automatically open in Notepad.Save the log file to your desktop and copy/paste the contents into a new topic in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum, NOT here.Important: Be sure to mention that you tried to follow the Prep Guide but were unable to get DDS to run.If RSIT did not work, then reply back here.

As the title hints, facebook and youtube (the only two sites I've found that do this) consistently crash any browser I use. This includes Mozilla, IE7 and Google Chrome. I uninstalled and reinstalled each of these browsers to no avail. Suspecting a problem with flash, I uninstalled and reinstalled flash (from Chrome as well), still same problem. I get redirects from google, whether searching or actually clicking a link in the results. Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer all crash constantly and without warning (no freezing or hanging, beforehand). I've tried malwarebytes, spybots S&D, tdsskiller, norton power eraser, and my regular mcafee virus protection. the only thing that came up was in Spybots. It showed me an adware toolbar by YourprofitclubDOTcom. the toolbar itself doesnt exist because it doesnt show any program files, browser add-ons/extensions, or entries in the uninstall list. It is purely a "background" bug, for lack of a better term. I don't know what to do anymore. any and all help is greatly appreciated Begin DDS.txt Log:.DDS (Ver_11-05-19.01) - NTFSx86 Internet Explorer: 9.0.8112.16421 BrowserJavaVersion: 1.6.0_24Run by John Broussard at 23:15:03 on 2011-05-29Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 6.1.7601.1.1252.1.1033.18.2811.1467 [GMT -5:00].AV: McAfee Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware *Enabled/Updated* {86355677-4064-3EA7-ABB3-1B136EB04637}SP: Windows Defender *Disabled/Updated* {D68DDC3A-831F-4fae-9E44-DA132C1ACF46}SP: McAfee Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware *Enabled/Updated* {3D54B793-665E-3129-9103-206115370C8A}FW: McAfee Firewall *Enabled* {BE0ED752-0A0B-3FFF-80EC-B2269063014C}.============== Running Processes ===============.C:\Windows\system32\wininit.exeC:\Windows\system32\lsm.exeC:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe -k DcomLaunchC:\Windo... my pc got infected with a nasty virus a few months back. i used kaspersky and malwarebytes to clean it (and a few other steps that i fallowed, all from here) . recently my kaspersky and malware trials ran out, i uninstaalled kasperksy and installed avast free. after this happens all my 32 bit browers (posting this using 64bit IE) keep getting "firefox has stopped workiong" without ever starting or even reporting a crash. for firefox, i first get "firefox has stopped workiong" and BEX as the event, after i click close the program a 2nd "firefox has stopped workiong" pops up saying APPCRASH as the event.

i have tried safe mode scan with malwarebytes, found nothing. i did a boot scan with avast and found nothing. TSSD found 2 threats and removed them. i have no idea what to do from here, help!

Firefox does work in windows safe mode.

i have used a system restore point from a week ago, and firefox is working but randomly creates a BEX crash.

A:I think im infected, BEX crash 32bit browsers.

Please post any logs that you have.

I select a page (or several pages) to print from a browser-generated text. On the last click of the print command, the browser crashes. This happens every time with all my browsers (IE 11, Chrome, Opera, Safari, FF). I tried the suggestion by TerryNet on 22 Sep 2011, which was successful for a very similar malfunction, but it failed to remedy my problem. All my other computer functions seem to be OK, at least as far as I can tell.

Try uninstalling the printers drivers/software, restarting the computer, and then reinstalling.

Hello,

I have done several testing on an issue recently with windows 7 32bit where all 4 major web browsers constantly crash during use. This only happens on windows 7 32bit.

There is no valuable information on the bug reports from Firefox or IE.

Chrome just runs out of resources and get's a "he's dead Jim" 90% of the time.
Internet explorer stops working.
Firefox crashes.
Opera crashes.
Event manager shows nothing for most of the crashes.

Testing on other OS had no issues on the machines. I tested Windows 7 64bit, Windows XP, Windows 8(8.1) 32 and 64 bit.

This is happening on several machines not just one. I have done testing on fresh installs so it's not malware, nor is it hardware issues.

I have done sfc/ scannow as well as chkdsk /f and winsock resetting.

I've reinstalled the web browsers as well as made multiple new user accounts.

Any other suggestions would be great. My teacher and my class have been puzzling with me over this for the past few days.

Thanks,
Chris

A:All browsers crash on Windows 7 32bit only

According to Google, you're running out of memory.
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/1270364?hl=en

32-bit machines have a limit of 4GB or in reality, around 3.7GB or some such usable. (No matter how much you have installed.) I suspect there's too much running in the background. Post an image of the Startup Tab on one of the affected machines. Don't change anything yet--Just look.

I don't know what to call this, if it is a virus. Maybe someone here will know. I'm new here. I'll just post what's going on followed by my HJT log and maybe someone can figure it out. I have been having a problem for a bit now with my IE7 crashing - actually it's that darned message that says a problem was found and it will have to close. It does that a LOT. Firefox 2.0 doesn't really have the same problem but it does seem to be using a ton of memory and often stalls. (We're talking in the 250-350K range and above.) Also in my Windows Task Manager under performance, I typically run about 200MB more than my physical memory shows. Don't know what's up with that. I'm running quite a few processes but not a huge amount. First I went to the Process Library website at http://www.processlibrary.com/directory?files=csrss and looked up a few processes that were running. I compared them to those at http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php?filter=wuauclt and found a lot of different information. Found a link that was recommended for the program to give more detailed information. Downloaded it and it works, but can't really get much information out of it. Maybe someone here can help with that? It's called Security Task Manager. My question is - if names overlap and can be only determined by the file location whether it's a virus, trojan, or whatever, what's the best way (or program) to use to figure out if the process running should be kept running or not?I also downloaded the trial ... Every browser I have (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer) all crash when trying to play any Netflix or YouTube video. While viewing an animated gif, a dialog box appeared telling me Shockwave had become unresponsive and asking me if I'd like to end that process. Netflix, judging by the "Silverlight has stopped working" message I received, uses Silverlight, whatever that is. (I don't know what YouTube uses.) The only clue I have is I just updated my video card software to "AMD Catalyst 12.1," I believe. (I must admit I updated it without reading anything other than "AMD.") Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way I can fix it?

A:Shockwave/Silverlight Crash All Browsers

Netflix/FF have known issues. For testing Netflix, use IE.

For everything else, troubleshoot/test one issue at a time and post the exact errors that you are getting.

I have this T5026 emachine ... it's OS is xp ... it has been through a clean install yet it continues to cause IE 6 and FireFox 3.6 browser to crash ... could it be the emachine software for a fresh install that could be causing some kind of conflict? I mean a format and clean install should clear any problem. What do you think?

A:Emachine T5026 Causes Browsers to Crash

Sorry I misunderstood the information given ... the hard drive was not formatted and a clean install done. I used the recovery disc to see if that helps ... time will tell ...

One of my PC's has over the last week started to crash whenever a browser is called up (IE + Chrome). This has developed until it crashes every time I go to Google Chrome especially
Have done all the usual checks (I think) to no avail - which included TCP/IP stack repair options for Win7.

Two other Pc's 1x XP - 1x Win7 on the same network are unaffected. It seems that the 'rogue' pc runs normally in every other respect
AV and malware checks done - dll re registered the list goes on, but no success to date

Your valued suggestions would be very welcome.
Cheers
