My daughter used my laptop to set up a Live Mail account for herself. Now every time I switch on my computer I have to type in my User Name and Password as normal but I get a message immediately underneath saying I have X-number of unread emails. These turn out to be emails to my daughter. If she logs in then her email only shows the recent emails that she has not read. My login shows ALL of them. It is becoming frustrating having to delete all her emails.
I assume she has set up a forwarding facilty in her account. How can this be switched off so I don't get her emails.
Help guys, PLEASE!

A:How can I stop receiving emails in Live Mail?

Did your daughter sign up under your user name? Kinda sounds that way. Set up new user account for your daughter, reset up email and then delete email account from your user account.

Hello. I use Microsoft Outlook to read my personal emails and my business emails. My ISP is Charter Communications, and my business email account is set up through Make-A-Store's Qmail. Last Friday it started taking 10-12 hours to receive business emails, today I received a few emails sent 36 hours ago, and some business emails I am not receiving at all. I sent some emails from my personal account to my business account and some I received 12 hours later while others were never received (and those returned emails came with an error message stating the destination computer could not be found).

I spoke with Charter and they said it would be a Microsoft Outlook issue. My personal account (which does not use Qmail, just Charter) seems to be working fine, and I can SEND emails from my business account, it's just receiving them that is the issue. My incoming mail uses the account set up through Qmail, while my outgoing mail uses Charter. I have two computers in two different locations that receive the business emails, both using Qmail/Charter/Outlook, and I neither is receiving the business emails (or receiving them 12+ hours later).

Thinking through it and as I write it out, it seems that it would be a Qmail issue, but I'm not an IT specialist, so I could be missing something. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on this issue. I own an online store so it's unnerving to think that customers are trying to write and are receiving emails stati... Read more

I don't know if this will solve your problem or not, TC2 but try this. Open OUTLOOK. Click "Tools" and select "Options". In the Options window select the "Mail Delivery" Tab. Under the "Mail account options", make sure that the box next to "Check for new delivery" is Checked. Then put in the number of minutes that you would like OUTLOOK to check for new messages. Hope this helps.

A:Receiving emails

Hi,
I can't comment on the problem but I advise you to edit the post to remove your email address so it doesn't get spotted by spambots.
Anyone who can help you will reply here so your email addr isn't needed

Found this definition:

"A Spambot is a piece of software, a program that someone has written. Which language it was written in does not matter, but most are probably written in C for speed and portability reasons. A spambot should not be confused with regular robots, also known as spiders or web-crawlers.
A spambot starts out on a web page. It scans the page for two things: hyperlinks and email addresses. It stores the email addresses to use as targets for spam, and follows each hyperlink to a new page, starting the process all over. Spambots also usually do not follow the guidelines in the robots.txt file, like civilized robots are supposed to. Most spambots are a part of a larger program, allowing them to send out the spam to email addresses as it find them. Others merely store the email addresses for later use.
Spambots vary in their intelligence and sophistication, but even the smartest can be fairly easily fooled by the tricks on this site. The simplest spambot would simply find mailto links, and follow each hyperlink as it comes up, until it reaches a dead end. The smartest ones can recognize email addresses in many forms, recognize dead links, avoid certain types of email addresses (such as *.edu and *.gov) and track many pages at once."... Read more

Hi. I use a Macintosh computer and use their default email program. My email address runs off the homepage website of my business. Recently, some emails that clients are sending will not come in the first few times that they try emailing me. I have even received forwarded emails that were previously addressed to me. Calling clients to ask them to resend their information has caused some frustration, and there is a possibility of losing them because of this issue. I look through my mail, junk, and trash, and the emails are not found.

If there is a way to fix this problem, whether it be a simple change in settings, purchasing new email software, or even calling up a computer expert to examine the mail system, please let me know. If there is no way to fix this, could someone at least please explain why this might happen so that I can explain to clients why their emails might not have been received?

Thank You.

I have a coulple suggestions.

Make sure they add your email address to their address book.
Open the Junk mail filter and clear it's restrictions and try again.
If some of the mail you send looks like spam it may be getting blocked.
If it only happens in Yahoo maybe you need to switch her to Gmail or ???

Hiya

I have an email account with 'outlook express' for my business on my laptop. This account is shared with 2 computers, 1 storing a copy of the emails on the server the other not. I also have an email account with 'Hotmail' this account copies all my emails to my 'outlook express' account on both computers. I have downloaded all the emails from the computer that stores a copy on the server. Therefore, its not a space issue, but I am receiving emails to my hotmail account thats not getting passed to my outlook account. What could the problem be?

Hi,
I am having a big problem and wanted to see if you can shed some light on it.
I have Windows 98--Internet Explorer 6 with Outlook Express 6. This past week I have been able to send emails but can't receive. My server keeps saying he doesn't know what is going on and not making a big effort to figure it out. A friend and I have the same server, I can send to her but I don't receive hers. I went in on my sons hotmail account and sent 6 to myself and 3 came! But when I call the server they say my box is empty. Where can my mail be? I called Gateway and they suggested updating Microsoft Internet Exp. Service Pk 1 which I did. Any idea where the problem can be? My server suggested the mail is downloading to another program on my computer---I don't THINK SO. I have McAfee firewall, virus scan and spam killer on my computer. I have scanned, cleaned cookies, defragged, removed all programs I don't use and don't plan to use.
A couple of weeks ago my settings were changing on their own from my server to 127. That cleared up after I removed all my Mcafee on my start up and reinstalled one by one.
I NEED HELP... My son is leaving in a week for Indiana and then Iraq I want to be able to receive emails from him!!!
Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated.
Margie PS- I seem to be able to get a message if done on "reply".

HI,I am having problems with COMCAST emails along with a lot of other people,my question is does it make a difference what email provider you use or like me i use COMCAST internet to provide my email service as they are my provider right now, thanks

A:receiving emails

You do NOT have to use Comcast email. There is no requirement that you have to do so.
If you want to use a different email such as gmail, hotmail, yahoo you can. They are free and not tied to your internet provider.
I also have Comcast. I rarely use my Comcast email address. My main email address is my msn mail, which I set up long ago.
Comcast is having a lot of issues with Xfinity Connect (online web access to mail). They are aware of the issues and are working on fixes, which had a target release date of November 5th. There has been no word if it was released or not. What I do know is that we have a running joke at Comcast Help Forum-when they fix or update they break something that used to work. The email forum at Comcast is full of complaints about Comcast mail. If you haven't discovered those posts you can read them there to see how disgusted people are with Xfinity Connect.

Hi

Since changing my hosting platform and redirecting my DNS to my new host, I am unable to receive any emails. I have around 10+ email accounts and I use https://mc-au.server-secure.com and MS Outlook to access my emails. One of my emails accounts is working correctly and it goes through the exact same system, all the rest are not.

I am able to send emails through https://mc-au.server-secure.com and they go through fine but am not able to receive any. I don't understand why the change has effected it as they worked fine before the move.

Any emails sent to me by clients appear from their end to go through with no error messages but they just don't show up in my account on https://mc-au.server-secure.com or Outlook.

Is someone able to help me please

I know this because I still am receiving emails on my old computer, and there is an occasional one on my old computer, which is not on my new one. I just ran an experiment by sending 10 test emails from my wife's computer, and only received the tenth one! My old computer received all 10. I checked my online server inbox, and they are not there. My company is trying to send e-mails to my aol account and I don't seem to be receiving them. I am receiving emails from at least some other addresses. Is it possible to not receive emails at AOL without them even making it into the spam filter and is there a fix for this? Thanks.

A:not receiving aol emails

Hi

AOL can be a real pain when it comes to email. They have filters that will block email that contains certain words and the recipient will just not receive the email. They can also block mail servers that they identify as being responsible for the forwarding of spam.

Try creating a gmail or yahoo account and ask your company to forward email to your new account and your AOL account. Hopefully the email will eventually get through.

User reported several emails she has written have not been sent to several clients. I told her to attach a 'Request a delivery receipt for this message' to make sure the Exchange server is able to send it out--at least get up to that point of the problem. She also has 'Request a read receipt for this message'. It happened once with internal email and now it has affected communication with clients outside the company.
For more details, this user has another mailbox--responsible for data coming in and replying as well. I thought perhaps it was due to having more than one mailbox, but after checking both Sent Items folders for the missing emails--there was no copy/record of it in there. Second, checked the Exchange Server 2003 for date/subject/recipient search--it's like it didn't even send out to begin with. Although it doesn't help that the exchange server isn't set to store more that a weeks worth of logs.

As much as I would like to accuse the user of being crazy, it wasn't the case. So I am all out of ideas...any suggestions.

Other specs...Email is being sent through Outlook 2003 sp 2/XP Pro sp 2

We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.

I receive email from someone with a Mac OS X. When they send a "reply" to me, it displays fine in my webmail account, but when it's transferred to my Outlook (2003) it comes in as an attachment (ATT00029.txt [266 B]). The numbers in this file name may vary. The size of the attachment will be shown.
I tend to think might be something in my Outlook settings (haven't seen anything, though), otherwise why would it show up fine in webmail? BTW, these are the only email replies that come in this way.
Should I be going to an Apple forum?

I use Verizon DSL with MSN, a few months ago my MSN messed up with various issues--one of them being that I wasn't receiving many of my usual emails anymore. I switched to AOL Free and have been using it for 2 months now. I realized that I'm not getting any of my bill-related emails--bank statements, credit card statements, utility bills, etc. Who knows what else hasn't gotten through? All of these companies have my new email address so that's not the issue.
If this was happening with MSN and, now AOL, where would the underlying problem be? With Verizon? Or, by some fluke, BOTH MSN and AOL?????

A:Slowdown when receiving emails

Sending and receiving email does use a fair amount of system resources but shouldn't be slowing you down very much (assuming you are not transferring large files). Is your system fairly new or is it an older machine? It may just be that you don't have sufficient system power to multi-task while handling mail.

What happens when you have something like an a/v scan running a full test? Does the machine slow noticeably while doing it?

so how are these coming in and how do i stop them? are the emails getting routed through another email address? any info would be great. thanks in advance.

Dear TyStone72,
If you are using an Internet Security Suite, like KIS2009,you may mark the unwanted mail in the e-mail site as "spam" . Before that, it would be informative if the msnbc mail is "spam"in your mail and what e-mail program is being used?

I have my main Outlook Inbox and a secondary Inbox. On Monday both were sending and receiving fine. We had a power outage Tuesday, so on Wednesday when I open my Outlook the main Inbox still sends and receives however the secondary Inbox has no received emails. This is definitely not correct as it is my business account. I have also sent myself a quote through my site and it never arrived.

My internet got shaped to 64kb Wednesday morning. Could this maybe cause a blockage of some sort trying to download large emails? If not, are there any other suggestions as to why suddenly I would stop receiving emails? I'm not great with computers so if this is too little information I will add to it as required.

Thanks in advance!

Inability to send e-mails generally stems from issues with the SMTP server. First port of call should be Orange tech support, to see if anything has changed on their side or to determine if they're having any technical issues.

OK, this is a very confusing problem and I am at my wits end trying to find a solution. I have tried my ISP, Internet Security, Linksys and Microsoft Outlook and no one has been able to find the problem or problems. I suspect I may have several problems.

I am using Outlook 2007 with a Linksys Router and Windows Vista all on a newer (1yr) ACER laptop. My ISP is Shaw, I have Trend Micro Internet Security and my router is a WRT160N V3 Wireless. Although I have also tried to send by connectly directly to the wired connection and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm no computer expert but I get by....until I run into something like this.

To begin....a few months ago I was unable to send or receive emails. I called in Geek Squad and they narrowed it down to my router. I went and purchased a new wireless router and the problem was solved.

Recently I have begun to discover that some of my emails from one of my accounts are not sending to some people. Some receive them fine, others not. I also discovered that I have not been receiving some emails. The ones I send appear to have sent with no bounce back messages or error reports at all but nobody receives them. These are people I send to all the time.

I can send to those people fine if I use my secondary email address but not my main one. If I log in to Webmail, I am able send from there no problem with both accounts.

A:Ms outlook receiving emails

Welcome!

Do you have access to your emails online? If so, log in there before opening up Outlook. It's possible you have had a setting that saved the emails on the server, so now this Outlook is treating them as new ones.

Who is the email provider?

My aunt (who is in her 80's!) is having trouble with her email. She is using a laptop PC with Windows 7 Business and Microsoft Office 2003 Outlook. Her email account is with BT Internet.

When she receives emails from certain people using Yahoo email they come through as (what looks to me) unformatted HTML.

If she reads the same emails on her Galaxy Ace mobile phone they are formatted OK.

Emails from all other accounts are OK.

I've pasted some of an offending email message below, as it is quite long I've only inserted a small amount, the rest can be supplied if required.

Any help is gratefully received.

Chris.

Hi

So this is driving me insane. Suddenly the emails I send from Outlook are not reaching their destination. I am receiving emails fine, but nothing is getting sent. I am not getting any error messages - Outlook doesn't seem to realise that the messages aren't being sent! They are all in teh sent messages folder. This makes it worse because now I have to resend every email from the last 10 days from my hotmail account in case some of them didn't get through. LAst week it seemed to just be one or two recipients, today it seems that none of my mails are being sent.

I have been in touch with my website provider people as the email address is through the website and they say that the problem is at my end. I have not changed any settings - they are all as the website tech guy said they should be. (incoming and outgoing servers etc are all correct)

Does anyone have any clue why this is happening and what I can do about it?

I use a Cell C dongle (am in South Africa) but have been using the same internet connection for the last 4 or 5 months and suddenly started getting this problem today.

THanks in advance

Oops! None of my Bigfoot email addresses are receiving any emails!

I am a Bigfoot e.a. (email address) user, & I use Bgft's service big time! In fact, I have had Bgft e.a.'s for over 10-15 years. I only use their free service, not the paid service.

All my Bigfoot email accounts are fwdd to the same BT Internet (ISP) e.a. account, & should be working OK as emails sent directly to that ISP are rcvd OK.

I have logged into several of these Bgft accts, & noticed that this fwdg e.a. is - in all cases - now prefixed with either "!UND!" or just "!!"

I emailed Bgft who initially replied nice & fast to my first enquiry; but now Bgft do not reply at all. Their first reply to my initial enquiry (in which I cited only 1 of my Bgft e.a.'s, for simplicity!) told me what I suspected - that the prefix meant they had been notified that the e.a. to which the emails were being forwarded was Undeliverable. They have now changed the setting of that 1 e.a. to the correct fwdg address; so that e.a. now works OK. Which is great.

But obviously all the other Bgft e.a.'s that I have are still not working/receiving any emails! Bgft now do not respond to any of my latest emails to them, even though I have reposted them as webform-queries in case that kind of mssg gets to them faster.

Does anyone know if I can reset this incorrect-fwdg address/modify the prefix somehow? I doubt it, but anything is worth a go as I really need to be able to rece... Read more

Hi,

I noticed on yesterday (friday nite) that I haven;t received 1 email since Fri morning. Usually you get a few spam emails but even when I check today, I don't have any emails. I know I should have received emails!

I'm using windows mail on vista OS. When I click 'send and receive' ... there are no errors, and works normal.
I've even checked to see if there are any inbox emails on my server and still nothing! I've done numerous tests to myself and NO EMAILS.
Although I've sent an email to another email address which isn't hosted on our server and that email address receives the test!

We have a dedicated server with Godaddy and I'm not sure if it has anything to do with a exceeding monthly quota?

I recently (about 2 days ago) got a Trojan / rogue virus (backdoor win32) and removed it with Malwarebytes and Superantivirus removal. Could this virus have anything to do with it?

My domain name has been payed for, so it can't be an outstanding account.

Could my server have a virus?

Its almost like my server is deleting any emails sent to my email address.

If anyone could help me, I'd appreciate it.

Dale.

A:Outlook keep receiving same emails

If there is one large or corrupt email in your ISP email server inbox, it could be failing on that one.

Therefore it will repeat the emails up to that point each time.

Go to the ISP webmail interface (assuming they have one) that allows you to access your ISP inbox using Internet Explorer, and check if that is the case. You could also delete any problem email from there.

Not sure where I should post this - Security or Web & Email?

I have removed over 300 blank emails several times. They return in a day or two. They have date stamps all over the place and some are shown as read and others not. They are completely blank - No To, or From, or Subject or body text. I completely remove them using the Shift key but they (or others) return. I'm using XP and Outlook 2003 (not Outlook Express) and it only happens in my Hotmail inbox account.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Should I be concerned?

A:Receiving Hundreds of Suspious Emails

I don't blame you for being suspicious - I would be, too. I might suggest the following... (this is based on OE, might be different for another eMail client)

Right-click one of the eMails, select forward as attachment.
Put yourself in the "to" field (yes, send it to yourself).

When the forwarded eMail arrives in your mailbox open the note (not the attachment). Within the note you can now save the attachment as a text file (or other type, then change the extension to "txt" from Explorer).

Now, you can run a virus check on this if you like, but you don't need to. You can open it in Notepad and see if you can figure out anything about it. Especially check for non-display characters - there may be an imbedded executable. Also, check the header information - you want to find out what you can about where this is coming from.

Good Luck. Let us know what you find.

Hi,

Within the last week or so I've been having major issues with receiving emails in my Outlook Express. I can hear the "ping" that a new email has been received and even see that there is an additional email per the number next to the Inbox. However, there is no email reflected in the actual Inbox folder.

I have tried compacting my folders and deleting over half of my existing emails--all to no avail. I have checked the settings and everything is correct.

I have also tried closing outlook express and restarting my computer, but nothing is working.

Do you have any advise??? I've never experienced anything like this before.

Thanks,

Using Outlook 2016, Windows 10. In the last few days, I've started getting multiple copies of the same email. Not all emails, but most. Some, just two or three. Others, up to a dozen of the same email. I've got four accounts at two different servers (RoadRunner and GoDaddy) ... and it's happening to all four, which is why I think it's an Outlook problem.

Additional clue: Some of the emails I'm getting multiple copies of are from last month ... stuff that had been deleted many days ago.

First instinct is to look at my settings (both POP accounts), to see if things are set up correctly. But that makes no sense ? up until two or three days ago, everything was working exactly the way it should. I haven't made any system changes, haven't installed new software ... can't think of anything that would've made this just start happening.

Any way to make this stop that doesn't require a hammer?

Thanks, anybody.......

Windows 8.1, Outlook 2016 and the same thing has started happening to me. I have made no changes to any settings, but suddenly I'm getting multiple copies of emails.

It looks like it started on Monday.........could it be related to the leap year?

Through the process of registering for this forum and typing this post, I have hit "send/receive" 3 times, and now I have 3 copies of one email. At this point it seems quote random - 3 copies of one email, but only 1 copy of another etc.
Edit: A bit more searching and it seems to be a "known bug" introduced in the last 2016 release in February. Apparently happens if the "leave a copy on the server" setting is enabled. Microsoft advise either removing the setting so all messages are deleted, or using IMAP instead of POP3. Tough luck for those of us stuck with slow and expensive internet connections that make IMAP untenable!!!

I recently upgraded to Dsl. I'm on IE6, Xp home. This is a recent development and who I'm attempting to send to has made no recent changes but has restored to an earlier time to ensure no problem at his end to no avail. Recipient does not have me blocked. Recipient receives email from all others and not from me no matter if I send from my email or through other emails (even when I send from another email address from my website). I receive his emails and also don't reach him when I reply instead of originating. My sent email is not returned as undeliverable. He also has Xp home, IE6 and outlook express.

We're lost. Relevant thoughts appreciated.

A:Outlook Exp. 1 recipient not receiving emails.

Your emails get delivered to others without a problem?

Have the person check the blocked sender list again, just to be sure.
Check message rules that might block you.

Then have them temporarily disable: firewall, anti-virus and any popup blockers. Arrange to send an email when they are disabled and see if received.

Today I'm unable to receive my emails from my Yahoo.com address via Thunderbird version 2.0.0.16 (20080708) on computer running Vista. I am still able to send emails however. I'm worried that I might have messed with the options cos when I had a similar problem I changed the port numbers (as it told me to do in the Yahoo Help files) and it started to work. That time I changed the SMTP port setting to 587 and the POP port setting to 110 and everythings worked fine for the best part of a year. Today I stupidly went in, fiddled with the settings and can't remember what the original settings should be (except the ports which are still set as 587 and 110). Should the SMTP be "SSL" or "No"? Should the POP be "Never", "SSL" and/or should the "use secure authentication" be ticked? I don't understand what it means and I'm just totally confused.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

Recently, I have received two emails with no subjects and only a single link in the body of the message. The emails were received a few days apart and are from people I know and have in my address book. I can also see the emails were sent to several other people besides me.

I copied one of the links and pasted it into my browser (running sandboxie) and the link was to a site selling products like Viagra and such. I'm using the free version of sandboxie and don't have it set up to use with outlook express.

Is it my PC or the PC of one of my contacts that has likely been infected ?

I'm going to do a full virus scan with Avira and perhaps a-squared / emisoft.

I'm using outlook express with my ISP for email, does it sound like I need to change my login password ? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I thought it might be the update on the spam software, but I removed it and it is still not sending my emails. The other computer is sending emails from that email address but not mine. Same ISP. What is the deal? I tried what it suggested for the error "Your email message to with the subject was unable to be sent . . ." (1003,9) - which was to increase the server timeouts time. That did not work either, so I tried the other suggestion for this error which was to go to Norton and uncheck the scan outgoing email. This did not work either. Now it gives me a different error saying the connection to the server was interrupted. How can one email account send and not the other when all settings are set up the same???? ARRRGGG!!!

Hi,

My outlook express will not receive any messages, however, they are being recieved via webmail.

Furthermore, when I delete or send message via webmail, they appear in the relevant folders in Outlook.

I have had previous problems where my mailbox reached maximum capacity and then obviously did not recieve any further messages.

However, I'm currently using approx 15% of its capacity as it has been extended.

Could it be due to an oversized file sent from another user, I did recieve an 8mb file in webmail, which I subsequently deleted. Would this block messages coming through Outlook?

Please help!

I am receiving multiple emails in Outlook Express, dial up, each message appearing day after day, both spam and legitimate. My inbox is always so full I rarely can completely download without getting the error message 0x800CCCoF. The messages are usually six to ten at a time. Deleting a message usually results in up to 12 identical messages in my deleted folder, so my deleted folder becomes extremely large as a result..

I often get this error message 0x800CCCoF while receiving mail. My ISP has given up and says they cannot help me.

Am running Windows XP home, dial up. Can someone please help me? Bill

A:Receiving multiple emails, also error message

0x800CCC0F is a connection dropped error message. There are things I do not know about your computer specs and also I have no idea what modem you have.

For the connection problem I would suggest that you find out what the make and model of your modem is and get a new updated modem driver for it..

For all of the emails you get and you say they seem to replicate themselves I think your computer is infected and would suggest running HijackThis right away or as soon as you can download it.

To download HJTsetup.exe To Download HijackThis go to the following: http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item5
Filename = 1137518044HJTsetup.exe
Save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialog boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialog.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialog box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
At the top of the Notepad HJT log screen, hit Edit then Select All then click Edit and then click Copy doing that copies the text to the clipboard, you won't see it yet....
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in... Read more

I have tried to resolve the issue by following the advice in another thread here but that hasn't worked.

It's not every email so it is not a consistent problem. However as it is to a help desk email address that I use for running tech support for a client it isn't looking good when I have to keep asking them to resend time after time!

Hope you can help.

Hi. I am so glad I found this site! I have tried everything!

My trouble is with OutLook Express 6 email.
I am running Windows XP,and IE6.
I can receive emails, but they do not display in the
message box. It is totally blank. I have checked all
my settings with my husband's laptop (in Tools, then Options) and all are the same. The only way I can read
the email, in text only, is to check the "Read" box in the Options that says "read all messages in plain text".
Then the text can only be read as an attachment.
It apprears as if the HTML function is not there any more.

Also, I cannot compose, reply, or forward emails at all.

I hope this makes sense and you can help me.
Please let me know if you need anything else to diagnose
my problem.

And thank you so much for your response.
Pam

Not sure where I should post this - Security or Web & Email?

I have removed over 300 blank emails several times. They return in a day or two. They have date stamps all over the place and some are shown as read and others not. They are completely blank - No To, or From, or Subject or body text. I completely remove them using the Shift key but they (or others) return. I'm using XP and Outlook 2003 (not Outlook Express) and it only happens in my Hotmail inbox account.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Should I be concerned?

(I moved this from Malware Removal Forum)

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to received emails on two both different computers with the same email account? My sister and I have already set thisup on both our computer but the problem we are having is that if she is the first to get a new email, I don't receive it. Likewise, if I happen to be on my computer (with Outlook Express open) and I receive the email, she will never receive it.... We both want to receive all emails. Is this possible? Thanks!

A:Receiving emails on 2 computers (same email account)

Open Outlook Express, click Tools > Accounts > Properties > Advanced > Tick the box for leave a copy of the message on the server.

note: Depending on how much space you have with your email account, you may need to clean out the older messages once in a while so you dont hit any limits.

I have been running Windows Mail on my laptop for 18months without problems. Yesterday it stopped receiving emails. I can still send out though. I have tried to send a message to myself and nothing. I run Mcafee as AV - tried stopping email monitoring - didn't work so I uninstalled Mcafee and rebooted and retested still nothing. Now reinstalled Mcafee.

Since I transferred my account details over to this laptop I have always had error messages on opening my Windows Mail but on closing the messages the email has always worked normally, so not sure if this problem is going to be related to the error messages that are coming up or not

A:Windows Mail stopped receiving emails

Hi munchkincoupe,

Welcome to Vista Forums!

Since the serious problem just started yesterday, let's see if a System Restore will resolve it. Do you know when this problem began? Try a System Restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem began. Here's the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-system-restore-how.html. Be sure to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. NOTE: You will have to re-install any software and updates you installed and uninstall any software you removed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for the updates.

As far as the other issues (error messages) go, I strongly recommend you contact your e-mail provider (presumably ntlworld.com) and get them to walk you through the Windows Mail settings as it seems something is not configured properly. I'm frankly surprised it was working at all (let alone fine until yesterday) with those error messages appearing. They should be able to provide the proper settings to eliminate the messages (and quite possibly resolve the problem).

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Well I never used an email client before because it was a big clusterfudge of stuff to set up and it never worked. Now that I have 7 I tried out Live Mail and I was happily suprised to see that it set itself up for me.

So, I ran it in Vista compatibility mode so it would show up in the tray when I minimised it (for anyone who has that problem) but I'm not getting updates on new email. When I send an email to myself it shows up in the browser Hotmail but it only shows up in my Live Mail once I restart it.

Is there something I can do to make new emails show up without restarting it and/or get notifications on those emails?

Fixed.

Now I want to edit the sounds you get when you get a new email, is there an easy way to do this or has anyone found where the sounds are located?

A:Windows Live Mail - Not Receiving New Emails

You have to allow automatic receive from Options > General.

Hi. I appear to be not receiving all my emails, and some I send are not getting through to my senders...but i'm not getting notices that they aren't being delivered. I have my own website email and run it through Microsoft outlook (2003). I?m not exactly sure when the problem started, but it?s been a little over a month since I can trace back evidence of the problem. FYI, during that time I?ve been getting assistance for malware issues in the following thread:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...pid=514468& We?re done, now, and the person assisting me suggested I come here to seek a solution to this email issue.Another concern I?m curious about with this is that because of naivety when I first used my website email I posted it as a link on my site, unwittingly opening myself up to people using my email for spam. I?m using Choicemail for filtering spam, but I do notice that a lot of the spam it catches has messages originating from my domain?but I have no clue what they are. I don?t know if there is any way to prohibit this or if I?m simply stuck with it for life. If anyone could clue me in I?d be grateful.

do you have a work IT dept - you may not be able to do this on a company PC - and making any changes can be in breach of any Company policies - so be aware of that before proceeding

i would remove norton and see if that resolves the issue - if so - you can always re-install - so make sure you know any subscriptions

Norton Removal Tool
I would recommend that you restart the PC and run the removal tool for a second time - I have found instances where the removal tool needs to be run twice to fully remove all traces of norton and symantec from the PC

Title says it all. Duplicate emails from some - not all - senders.
How canii fix this annoying problem?

A:Receiving duplicate emails in Outlook Express 6

If it's only happening with some, not all, messages, it points to a problem with the senders email provider, not yours. If it was a problem with either your email client software or your email provider, every message would be duplicated.

I have one particular contact who emails me and it always arrives twice in my mailbox. I've ascertained that the same thing happens with other people that he sends messages to, so it's evidently a problem at his end.

I have 2 email accounts and recieve them both in outlook express. Suddenly no emails were received for the one account. When I delete saved emails (I have them archived and need them) and compact, I get emails so I think there is a quota or bin full somewhere.

The emails are not being held on my isp.

Any ideas please? I have no disc on this notebook so cannot download or backup the email files.

Desperate at present!

A:outlook express not receiving emails on one account

What happens when you send an email to yourself
at that account?

There is no "quota" for Outlook Express. If you signed
into your email provider's website and there are no emails
sitting there - then you haven't gotten any emails.

It is very likely that you have set your email client to leave copies of emails on the server. You will need to log on to webmail and delete some older ones to allow space

Hello, I believe I am having a problem with my copy of Outlook Express. I am trying to track a product ordered some time ago, and am part of another website that dispatches an email to your inbox whenever you receive a personal message on the site. I tried requesting the password for the website to track the product, however nothing appeared in my inbox after thirty minutes, and the notification for a practice personal message I sent myself on the website never arrived either. It has been receiving notifications for previous personal messages today, with less than a minute of delay usually, but I suspect that some of my emails are either not arriving, or else none are arriving now. If it's at all possible, can someone help direct me as to how to solve this problem and (hopefully) recover the emails which did not go through? Thank you in advance for whatever help you can provide.

For technical information, I click the "send/receive" button on the program, and it checks for any new emails on my server but finds none; there are no error messages that appear for me. As for the computer that I am on, it is a Windows XP operating system, the copy of Outlook Express, according to the "about Outlook Express" option from the help menu, is version 6.00.2900.5512, and I'm afraid I'm very non tech-savvy, but I will pull up any other specifications that I can if need be.

I am receiving two, three, four and even five times the same emails again and again. I closed the account and opened it again and the problem persists.
I checked on my server, Bellsouth.net and there you couldn't find the duplicates emails, so the problem resides in Outlook.
I haven't found a solution for this problem in the database of Office and don't know what else to do.
I have another email account in gmail and it happens the same problem: duplicate emails and no duplication on the server.
Thanks

Hello,
running Exchange 2000SBS, XP Pro with Outlook 2002 SP3.
We have a number of satellite offices using POP mail (with Outlook Express) to connect to our main office (running Exchange). All Exchange connected PCs have their PST file stored on the server, all PCs running AVG v7.5 Network Edition.
Issue 1:
When emailing to any of the external offices, the offices receive 8-10 copies of the original email.
All our SMTP mail is routed through an external relay server, then forwarded on to the POP mail accounts.
Issue 2
Occasinally I also receive the following error:

A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients. Contact your administrator.
<myserver.mycompany.local #4.4.6>
Would someone be able to help me troubleshoot either one of these problems?

Thanks in advance,
Manny
