I have a configuration error that is preventing me from printing.

Q: I have a configuration error that is preventing me from printing.

I have previously been able to print an email in Windows Live Mail. I can print Internet pages and saved documents. Brother Printer support suggested I have a configuration error.

Any suggestions?

A: I have a configuration error that is preventing me from printing.

If you can still print from other applications but not Live Mail then it sounds like something's wrong with Live Mail accessing the printer. Maybe a re-installation of Live Mail is necessary.
My guess is if you provide more info on what exactly it is that keeps you from printing you'll get more feedback here.
Is there an error message? Or any other info to go by?
A print option dialog screen with a number of installed printers etc?

This problem has been frustrating me for several days now, and i'm in need of some help.

I'm attempting to dual boot Windows7x64 7100 with the Vistax64 i currently have installed on my Acer Aspire 5100. I have created a new simple volume partition of 16GB on my drive and have attempted to do a clean install on this drive using the Windows 7 iso DVD I made.

The files are all extracted, updates are installed and everything runs smoothly until after the system has restarted during the installation, launching Windows 7 where it attempts to "finalize" or "complete" installation. The progress bar gradually makes its way towards completion when all of a sudden it tells me that

"Windows could not update the computer's boot configuration. Installation cannot proceed."

I have read many forums offering advice on this error with no success for my problem. I have attempted the registry fix with PartMgr, which didn't need to be fixed in the first place and have also attempted installation with Norton Antivirus uninstalled. Each with no success. If anyone has any advice on how I can get this dual boot to work, it would be much appreciated.

A:Boot Configuration Problem Preventing Install - HELP

This is a guess but I just did a fresh install today and after updating two drivers and installing Live Mail and Avast, I had used 17.2GB. I know the min. requirements but I would try a 25-30GB partition and see if that works. That's the easiest thing I can think may work. Good luck.

Do you have an image backup of your hard drive? If not I would suggest you create one to an external hard drive using a program like Macrium.

Once that's done do a clean install, deleting all partitions on the hard drive so it's a completely un-allocated, then click Next. Let the install create the partitions it needs.

Having problems with form line feeding when printing laser checks in MAS90. This is happening after the system was re-ghosted using the image that came with the Dell system. First check prints fine, but each check after that moves up one to two lines each check.

I have tried changing the form length from 63 to 66 and reviewed the setup in Device manager.

Please give me a call or send a message if you know what I need to do.

I have been using a network capable HP LJ 4050T, which i added an HP Network card too, for years as a network printer. I dis-connected it and moved it to a different location and now i can not get my pc to print to it.

I have win 7 64 bit. I have tried the universal drivers and the drivers built in to win 7 mainly HP Laser Jet 4050 PCL 5 and or the 4050 PS driver (all of which work for at some point in the past, but now no longer will do the trick). After installing the driver i can get the printer to add to the list of devises and appears to be installed correctly. I can ping the printer however when i try a TEST PAGE it will give error message "Error - Printing" very generic.

Frustrating thing is that i have this issue every time i disconnect the printer, it takes multiple tries getting it to connect (i.e. installing drivers and uninstalling, rebooting, re-setting settings etc.). I work at it for hours and then what seems to be by luck something i previously had done will work this time, or something i found online will work. however this time I've tried all those things and others without success. It almost seams that i have to trick the computer till it lets me print to it.

In the past i was able to get my Win XP laptop to print to it as well but i have not been able to re-connect this for over a year.

A:Printing Error When printing to my networked HP LaserJet 4050

When you disconnected the printer did you turn both the computer and printer off and disconnect both from the mains power supply. There is no reason why they should not talk to each other if everything is turned off before one or the other is moved as it would be no different from turning them off, not moving the printer, then turning them back on again.

You don't say whether the printer/computers are hard-wired or wireless networked.

Have you tried going into a program like Word and hitting Ctrl-P and telling it to search for a printer? If the driver software is on the computers it should connect.

I installed the drivers from the cd's of the different components. Today I thought I should update my OS. It downloaded the new updates and during about mid way installing of the new updates the computer just shut off. I didnt see the 'Windows is shutting down' or anything, just went off. I turned it back on and I got this error during post:

I press any key and it does nothing. I can still get into BIOS. I went in there and selected fail-safe default settings. I still receive the same error. I have no idea what 'EES' may be or what caused it. There is nothing on my HDD that I need to salvage or anything.

My computer runs the CHKDSK up to stage 2 of 3 and at 0%, proceeds to unspecified error and just hangs there. Most of the time, "..."(three dots) follow behind the msg and occasionally "....."(five dots).

When i attempt to skip CHKDSK, the skip initiates and hangs there.

All other options like starting with all types of Safemode ends up with a multitude of commands flashed over the screen and just hangs there.

I have tried leaving my computer on for at least 2 days for both CHKDSK Stage 2 of 3 (with unspecified error) and CHKDSK skipped but to no avail.

Please help me identify the problem and also the solution.

Pretty sure this is a very long long shot, but it never hurts to ask, right?

The computer with problems belongs to my sister which she bought at an estate sale. It is running Windows XP. She has none of the discs that would have come with the computer. She used the computer without issue for about two weeks before this problem popped up.

When I turn on the computer, it appears to be loading properly and even gets to the Windows desktop screen complete with start bar, icons and background picture.

Two windows pop up, one immediately after the other, each saying "Checking drive" with a set up numbers and information that flashes by too quickly to read or capture so I cannot tell you any details about those.

When those two windows finish and disappear, there is a third window already on the screen . A RUNDLL error window.

"Error loading c:\windows\system32\nrmoiyvn.dll
The specified module could not be found."

At that point, the mouse can still be moved around the screen, until you try to close the window or click the okay button then the computer freezes.

You cannot click anything, ctrl/alt/del does not work, does not bring up the task manager to allow you to cancel any processes or programs.

I first did a search for the nrmoiyvn dll which returned zero results. I've searched for this file at several DLL sites with no luck.

So I decided to try to boot in safe mode.

I am working on a HP Media Center PC m1072n that was recently infected with malware. I did have a full Norton suite but is was expired. Now the Norton Go Back comes on with an error 126 and the text "Norton GoBack has detected its partition signature in the MBR on disk#1 but links to Norton GoBack's datalO.BIN) are broken. To fix this problem, Norton GoBack will need to scan your hard disk for its data file and then restore the MBR and/or BPB sector. Until this problem is fixed, you will not be able to access this disk.

This problem was probably caused by a utility such as a virus checker, multi-boot manager, or disk editor.

Do you want Norton GoBack to attempt to restore the BPB?"

... and then the "yes" or "no" options. Clicking on "no" just redirects me to the same screen. When I click "yes", I get the following message:

"Norton GoBack Recovery

Scanning hard disk #1.

Scanning hard disk for GOBACKIO.BIN."

... and then a progress bar, but the progress bar only ever gets up to 22% before freezing.

Does anyone have any advice about how to solve this problem?

So I'm trying to do a clean install of Win 7 on my Samsung 840 SSD. Initial installation about a year ago went fine. Now when I go into the setup of the install disc it gives me error 0x80300024. I've looked around and have found various solutions, none of which seem related to each other (fixing the MRB, removing other drives, etc). I'm worried about formatting the drive because I don't want to do it only to have it give me the same error (I don't have a back up drive with an OS).

Other info that may be important:
I have 4 HDDs on this PC
2 are 1TB platter drives
1 is a 3TB platter drive (just a back up for the other 3 drives)
Main drive is a 250GB SSD

The thing I find odd is that my disk manager shows the 3TB drive (G: ) as disk 0.
It shows the SSD as disk 1 (C: ).
The SSD has the typical 100MB system partition and then the rest of the drive is reserved for the OS and whatever else I put on it. So upon setup it should I'm installing on disk 1, partition 2.

I could try bootsec /fixmbr but this isn't something I've ever done before so it makes me a bit anxious. I suppose I could temporarily pull the 3TB drive to see if the SSD reverts to disk 0, but I don't know if that'll make any difference. Any help would be much appreciated

Hi, recently my Acer Aspire 7740-5691 experienced some malware problems and I had to restore it. I was getting this error:

"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click OK to restart the computer and restart the installation".

First I was recommended to restore with a backup, which kept all the files on my C:\ drive in a backup file? Well, that didn't help, so afterwards I was told to order restore disks from Acer and try a full factory reset that way.

I did so, and even after a FULL reset I'm still getting the error every time I restart. I don't know what else to do, I followed directions correctly and the restore went through smoothly up until the screen saying 'windows is preparing for its first use'. I'm getting rather frustrated... Help?

PS.-- these recommendations mentioned were given to me by a tech at the same store I bought the laptop from, Staples.

I am having a problem in logging on my computer (it's operating system is Windows XP Professional SP3).
A couple of days ago, my computer was running slow/freezing so I forced the computer to turn off by pressing its power button (just after installing a new add-on for my newly-installed firefox). But when I turned back on the computer, I received a Blue Screen of Death.

So, next time I turned it on, I pressed F8 and stopped the computer from rebooting. The following message appeared on the screen:

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Session Manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000026c (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shut down.

So, after a bit of work, I found another hard drive (running XP Home Edition) and set it as master and the problematic one as slave. However, I cannot keep my computer like this, as the hard drive with home edition is badly-partitioned with little space and is lacking many important programs that my other hard drive has.

I do not have the original operating system CDs, and I've been searching the internet all day for a solution. (I cannot download any large files like Knoppex Linux to solve this problem since I have dial-up.) Could someone please help me solve this problem?

To remove the "Video ActiveX Access" Malware, I followed the instructions from someone on this site. Following the instructions I restarted my computer in Safe Mode and an error kept popping up saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and then saying "Windows explorer is restarting" and after that the desktop, taskbar, and any program other than IE closes. I continued the instructions and restarted the computer in Normal Mode and get an error saying to the effect of "AOL cannot access files to run software. Go to Internet Access Setting and Reinstall Parental Controls." Because I cannot open any windows, I cannot do this. (NOTE: I did get rid of the Video ActiveX Access so it's probably not caused by it)

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have a very curly problem that has me stumped. Over the last couple of weeks I have been experiencing unexplained shut downs in Windows 7 on my Alienware M-9700 portable desktop. Before yesterday I was able to just hit the start button & it would reboot without trouble so I really didn't give it much thought at the time.

Then yesterday it happened again as I was visiting a website I had visited many times in the past without issue. At the same time I was online, I was running Avi Recomp, an AVI file compressor in the background. I didn't give it much thought until after I pressed the start button & as Win 7 was in the process of booting up the system shut down and the computer turned itself off. I tried a number of times to get it to reboot in normal mode with success. I ended up pressing F8 so I could go restart Win 7 in safe mode. No problem with that at all.

Once there I was able to run Win 7 in safe mode with internet access, I ran Spybot, AdAware & AVG 9 to make sure that I didn't have any bugs, bots or malware on my system. All reported a clean system. I then ran TweakNow reg cleaner to make sure there were no reg problems there either. I tried rebooting in normal mode again with the same result. I went back to safe mode and looked at the error logs & that's when I discovered that this was not the first time the computer has had this problem.

The error messages are as follows:

Ok so here is the issue. I have acompaq presario SR1130NX and over a year ago I ungraded it with a 128 ATI video card on the AGP port and did a clean install of windows xp professional because i did not want Compaqs pre installed XP home on it. They did a number of things, they replaced the whole motherboard and a couple other componets, and reinstalled home addition and the factory setting partitions. I get the computer back and it boots to windows XP home edition fine, but I tried to upgrade the system to professional and I get this stop error screen. I decided to screw diong and upgrade and just do a clean install and reformat everything and i still get many different stop error screens I tried removing the video card I installed and I still get the stop error screen. I tried a new fresh stick of ram and I still get the stop error screen. I can boot to home edition fine.....but I cannot install windows xp professional. Just recently I started having an issue where I would come back and my computer would be off, when I had left it on, so I am assuming that when I leave for a long enough time it attempts to enter sleep mode, somehow fails and shuts down, because then I get a "windows failed to shut down properly" message. I have also been having issues with restart not actually restarting, and getting stuck on "Shutting Down Windows". I also have had that happen when I give the Shut down command. I'd rather not shut off my computer improperly all the time, and when I start it up it says that windows recovered from an unexpected shutdown, and gives similar error codes to the ones found below (I think, I can't quite remember).

I looked around a bit regarding the error code that I was getting, which seemed to point me to use driver verifier on all my non-Microsoft signed drivers. So I did that and it bluescreened on startup, after displaying the starting windows screen.

It did the same thing 2 or 3 times in a row before I decided to go into the Startup Recovery and attempt repairs, which failed, giving the root cause:

"Unknown Bugcheck: Bugcheck c9. Parameters = 0x23e, 0xfffff88004250324, 0xfffff98006142ee0, 0x0."

I then restarted again and allowed the Startup Recovery to recover using the backup, which seems to have recovered completely without losing any of my recent data. I haven't yet turned off my computer to see if the problem persists but I don't see why... Read more

Disable Driver Verifier at first. If you cannot, boot into System Recovery Options and opt for a System Restore. For such hazards, you are not supposed to enable DV at your own. You did not need to enable DV here.

Anyway .........

Hi, I just received my new Hard Drive after my old one had to be send away because it stopped worked due to cyclic redundancy check errors. After reading several different articles and threads about this I'm still not really sure what CRC is (don't really care) but was wondering if there was any way to be sure it doesn't happen again to this new hard drive.Should I format the HD before use or do a check disc or something?

I keep gettintg this error message when I try to put my win 2K machine into standby.

System Standby Failed
The device driver for the '3Com EtherLink XL 10/100 PCI For Complete PC Management NIC (3C905C-TX) #3' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver.

It appears in a standard windows alert pop up.

I followed the instructions and downloaded a new driver from 3Com (which was just the same driver) and reinstalled. I even unistalled and reinstalled the luck. I have closed all programs in the sys tray (except norton & adaptec cdwizard) but it still wont let me enter standby.

This my 3Com Driver

Any help is appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

A:Error Mess. The device driver for the is preventing the machine from entering standby

I don't know if you ever solved your problem, I just joined the forum.
I had the same problem, but in my case it was directing me to update the keyboard driver.
Well, it turned out this problem has nothing to do with updating drivers!
I accidentally bumped into an article (Microsoft, I believe, can't find it anymore), listing the softwares which, when installed, cause this problem.
In my case, it was Adobe Fonts. The moment I uninstalled it, the machine started going into hybernate and / or standby, without any problems.
Sorry I can't find that article any more.
Hope this will help.

Not sure whats going on, system is slow, Malwarebytes came back with error 714 (0,9), so uninstalled using add/remove programs - but even that continually showed error code thru process. Have now reinstalled Malwarebytes and running scan - nothing detected on scan yet. Tried to print on Dell 924 Photo printer (which has worked fine for 5 years) and came back printing error. Tried to add/remove MS SQL 2005 program, wouldn't allow me to uninstal...this program had error messages at startup, wasn't even sure what it was or how it got on the system, so decided to uninstal after inquiring on techguy software forum..but it wouldn't let me uninstal it. However, when I tried to open up Microsoft Flight Simulator for the second time, the error occurred again. Can I please help some advice on how to stop this re-occurring problem?

I'm having this issue

TCServer.ext - Configuration Error

Unable to load Jit Compiler (MSCORJIT.DLL)

Please check your setup or rerun setup!

Basically when I did a google search I came up with this patch for what everyone says is a memory leak.

This didn't solve my issue.
The actual issue is that this error comes up as soon as I log into windows and either freezes me straight away or resterts.

- Version of the OS. XP Tablet Edition
- Security Patches - Unknown. I can't use the tablet long enough to check
- If the OS produces an error, either upload a screenshot of the error message (ALT+PrtScrn), or literally quote See above
- Were there recent crashes that could have caused this problem?Unknown
- Did you install new software recently? If this is the case: Which software? (Brand, version, build)Unknown
- Did you do any of the following:
- Run a scan with an updated anti-virus program?No, can't
- Run a scan with an updated anti-Trojan program?No, can't
- Run a scan with an updated root kit detection program? (This only for Windows NT, W2K and newer!)No, can't
- Run anti-spyware scans with at least two freshly updated anti-spyware programs? No, can't

I'm on ADSL Zoom X3 modem connected to my PC with No other Router connected

when I used a bittorrent for the 1st time (Azureus), I got NAT error problems, this happened to everything I tried.
It tells me I have no remote access & icons stay on yellow?
I checked all the wizard configurations & whatnot, they all told me I have a NAT error

I just want to know if theres anything I can do? because when I switched to my AOL 56k connection, the NAT error was not present there
SO is my NAT messed up or not set up correctly???

I don't have a router so I can't open any ports only on it,
I'm only with my DSL modem, so I went to my DSL setup page

the screen had this info:

NAT : Enable
Mode: Dynamic

Session: blank (no other options listed but can be typed on)
User IP: blank (no other options listed but can be typed on)
Action: add (& another option for delete)

Number | Session | Name | User IP
# of NAT configurations: 0
I tried switching to disable NAT!
the description makes it seem like hackers can get to my IP & whatnot without it, but I tried anyways, BUT I could not connect to the net anymore after that, I had to re-enable it.

All I know on on Azureus is that in options it states 6881 as the incoming TCP listing port.
there is no Session or User IP info there to find & typing 6881 on User IP just tells me it's an inncorrect IP

Hello there. I hope I have posted this message in the right area. This morning I fired up my pc to find an error greeting me. It was that windows was missing a configuration file. I rebooted a couple of times then it came back up.

Once it did tho, it went through reloading all my hardware. Everything was fine so I thought. I then realized there was no sound. Xp is showing the Realtek onboard sound card there, indicating under Audio Devices, Properties that "This device is working properly" and "Driver is enabled but has not been started". However, under the main Volume tab it shows "No Audio Device".

I have verified under Services that Windows Audio is started and running (set to 'Automatic'). I have attempted to remove and resintall the device, tried alternate drivers, all to no avail. Any suggestions or recommendations on how to proceed would be so greatly appreciated!

I work on several of these. Really bad design. Very crowded, no air circulation (heat) and underpowered (poor voltage=hard drive errors, system file corruption, etc...)
I assume you've tried this procedure:

If the settings do not "stick" I would do the following:

Reseat the RAM.
Remove CMOS battery, clear CMOS (test battery while it's out. If it's low, replace it.)
Try disconnecting all peripherals (hard drive and optical drive) and see if the problem changes or stays the same.
If you can't get the symptom to change at all, I'd try reflashing the BIOS as a last resort. The motherboard might be bad. Might be power supply. Those power supplies cost more than the whole box is worth. Is this your machine?

I rebooted and it came up to a windows boot manager screen which says windows failed to start..insert installation disc and click repair to fix...blah blah...i'm sure you know the story...

My question is, I booted the Vista disc and when I click repair it doesn't even find the C: drive...when I try and run the BCD fix from the command prompt screen, it says it found 0 Windows installations...would this indicate a faulty hard drive?? If so, I dont mind replacing the drive, I just wanna make sure this is the issue before I spend the money to replace it...

Much thanks for any help anyone can offer!

A:Boot Configuration Data Error

I'm not sure what BCD fix you tried, but see if it is this one and if not, try this one.

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps: (you need a Vista Installation Disk to do this)

1. Put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
2. Press a key when you are prompted.
3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
7. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup issue, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. By doing this, you make sure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the Windows RE command prompt:
 bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup
 c:
 cd boot
 attrib bcd -s -h -r
 ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old
bootrec /RebuildBcd

See if that works.

If you don't have the disk (or that didn't work), try EasyBCD and see if that helps resolve the problem.

If that doesn't work, you probably have some type of hardware problem - but it's hard to tell. It may be as simple as the hard drive cable got disconnected a... Read more

Hey. Not sure where to post this problem so I just decided to put it in with games. I use a program called DAEMON to use virtual disk drives. Wierd thing is that the first two drives do not have a letter assoicated with them (E:, F and it won't save any changes I make on the main configuration options screen that sets a letter. They've worked before, but I just noticed now that they were gone. Any solution to this baffling mystery?

I would like to say hello to everybody here. I have a problem. My problem is the nasty dredful Code Purple Configuration Error for HP. I have been working on a HP Pavilian mini tower, and I ended up having to destructive restore it. I then restart the tower, and I get this Config Error code Purple. I don't mess with HP very much (I compac/HP) I have also did my research on the problem, and I know its got a tatoo on the mother board(haven't added any hardware, and the reason for the restore everytime I tried to logon, it would say saving settings and restart) Of course this computer hasn't came with a restore disk, its on a partition of its own. I know their was a lawsuit over HP sending restore disk, and I also know I need to put the hardrive in a different tower and delete a bin file. Here's the problem. I have been fighting with hp over this restore disk and wanting me to pay for tech support. I feel I shouldn't pay for tech support because this problem was caused by them. My question is there away to fix this easier than the other ways shown on this forum. I never have hook up a hp hard drive to a different tower(which I don't think will post any problems, but then when deleting bin files or even locating these file. I am not too comfortable with doing. Will someone either let me know a easy way to fix this or instruct me in which is the best way and the step to fix it. I posted this in "Hardware", which might be the wrong place, so here it is:

I am now at the DOS prompt as I'm sure something can be done from here. Anybody have a recipe I can follow to get this thing booted up? I apologize if this post appears disjointed, I can't seem to get the browser to properly show spacing. So I was browsing the internet normally, then all of the sudden, I'm disconnected. When I reconnected, I was able to access the network, but unable to connect to the internet. After attempting to diagnose the issue, I got the "There may be a problem with your Domain Name Server Configuration." ... can't connect to well known host

I know the server isn't down, since I can use another computer to access the internet. I've tried flushing the DNS cache, I've tried inputting the DNS IP manually, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, nothing worked.

I don't have access to the router, as I'm using a Motel network. Iím using Vista SP2, I am using a Netgear Wireless Adapter: WNDA 3100. Shown below are the results of Ipconfig, and NBTSTAT -N.

I get an error message when I open Itunes. It says "Itunes has detected a problem with audio/video configuration..." and that the audio video may not play correctly.

I have uploaded some cd's to Itunes and I have noticed the sound has skips in it.

Also, my daughter wanted to open some pictures from a disc but the disc wouldn't work. I took the disc to work and opened the pictures fine.

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 running XP. I do not have any other problems with the machine.

Are there diagnostic programs that I might try to correct this problem, or do I need to replace the cd drive?

If you have access to another Windows 7 computer create a System Repair Disk. Boot it and do a Startup Repair. It may take up to three attempts to fully do the repair. If you have 64bit then you would need to find a Windows 7 64bit computer.

I have been looking all over the net to find out what this problem is, but alas, nobody has been able to identify it. Basically, my computer had a blue screen that flashes with the message HP Invent, that goes by rather quickly, followed by a black screen with safe mode options et al. When attempting a recovery I got the code purple error. I have read several people mention a motherboard issue that is not 'tatooed' correctly. But this motherboard is the original that came with my PC in 2003! There have been no upgrades in at least four years. The only new addition has been a Sony monitor recently. Please can someone tell me what this Code Purple error is, and how to resolve it. Time and assistance will be gratefully received.

With the mask of /27, all client computers fall into one IP range, which is - The answer also states that a subnet mask of /28 should be used. If /28 is used, then Client A & B will be in their own IP range, and clients C & D will fall into their own IP range aswell.

As it stands, without rectifying the mask this network should still operate correct?
