"Live Mail" Deleted messages return to Inbox a year later

Q: "Live Mail" Deleted messages return to Inbox a year later

Wondering if any of you have seen this oddity?
My working theory is to blame MS ... haha - my guess being that a general update of Live Essentials/Live-Mail caused the non-permanetly-deleted messages to be 'unmarked' as deleted

At any rate the symptom is simple: suddenly "out of the blue on a fresh restart of Windows 7 PC, when executing Live Mail, around 800 previously-deleted messages all find their way back to the Inbox.
?? No other issues with the PC - everything working fine.
The mail account is with Time-Warner RR... I also happen to have a Time-Warner RR account and have never seen such an issue on Outlook or on Thunderbird.

any clues?

I have not changed any settings and was trying to select some emails and thought I had touched rl and A to select all and the above message came up and the inbox is empty.

All other folders are ok and I can still see emails in "quick views" but not in the normal place. How can I undo this "view applied?"

Thanks

I never ever had this issue with Outlook Express. Suddenly, after I tried to delete some messages, I get the above error. I tried to move the messages to my deleted folder, nothing. I tried to move the store folder to another directory, nothing. I even uninstalled and uinstalled Windows Live, same thing. No success.

Any ideas? Workarounds?

I prepared in openoffice a html newsletter to send out.

Now, in Outlook I can "Insert File->" and insert a html file and it works great.

In Windows Live Mail, can I also insert a html file in the same way?
How can I import that html file like I do in Outlook?

You can add this file in a email as attachment in insert. WLM looks at Office 2010 or office 2011 (for mac), but with less option. For lambda user, It is enough. For a company it's too limited.

I've just set up a new imap email account in live mail. the folders were created on another computer using outlook, however do not appear on the webmail. Once the account was set up all of the folders synced ok, except that the "all" or "inbox" does not appear --meaning that all unread mail remains on the webmail, but does not download onto this computer -- only the mail that has been moved into the folders.

When I click on the account name in the left column the screen remains blank -- for other accounts this is where the inbox appears with unread mail, or it says "there are no items in this view".

I have tried closing and reopening Live mail, but nothing changed.

Can anyone tell me why it is not downloading the "inbox" folder....please

Email Hacked? I Keep Getting Return Titled "Mail Delivery Failure"
I suspect that someone has hijacked my Email and used it to deliver spam. I get the return titled "Mail Delivery System-Mail Delivery Failure," so I have to assume that someone is using me to send out MANY spam messages. I just get back the undeliverable ones.....but I'm getting 30-60 of these daily!

Does anyone have any advice as to how I can kill this program? I use Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, Advanced System Care 5. I have Avira and Zone Alarm. This is an example of what I get. I've removed my Email addy and the spam that is always included at the bottom.....(work at home-type spam)

I'm using Windows7 & Windows Live Mail version 2009 (Build 14.0.8089.0726).

I hear the chime that new mail has arrived & see the number of unread messages increase, but the messages themselves are not shown. I have to click on another box (junk, drafts, sent, etc) and then click back on Inbox to see the messages. This happens when I 1st open Windows Live Mail (inbox) & also if I've left it open while I do something else (internet, word, excel, etc). Previously, new messages appeared immediately, when they were received.

Actually, this might also happen with junk (spam), but I almost always leave Live Mail "sitting" in the inbox.

How do I get new messages to appear immediately, when they were received?

Is there any way of restoring the Inbox WITHOUT reinstalling ... which apparently would involve losing all existing messages permanently ?

I recently built a call log database in Access 2007 for my team to use when calling agents on our top errors we see from a vendor's error report. My boss is requesting a report to see how many items have been resolved

I have a query started and I am trying to complete this task in a single query (if possible) instead of several queries (as I've done for a couple other things).

I have 3 tables I'm using: Assignment, AgtInfo and CallLog
Joins as follows: Assignment.st=AgtInfo.agcy_st
AgtInfo.agt_id=CallLog.agt_id

Fields in the results: Assignment.assigned_analyst, CallLog.rpt_mnth, CallLog.resolved

Resolved is a yes/no field. I've done a query that converts the -1 to a 1, so that the sum is a positive number for the "Yes" values. I'm not sure how to enter the expression to subract the "Yes" values from the total number of values (yes/no) to get to my "No" count.

Essentially, I'd like the results to display as:

assigned_analyst, rpt_mnth, CountYes_resolved, CountNo_resolved

Somehow the connection is just not clicking in my brain with everything I've read though searches. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Hello M4TE and welcome to Seven Forums. Sorry for the delay in responding but I just came across your question.

Most newer manufactured computers have a hidden recovery partition on the hard drive. The manufacturer provides specific instructions on how to access that partition in case you want to restore your machine to the exact condition it was in when it left the factory. That means you'd have to go through the time consuming process of cleaning out factory bloatware (like free trials of programs you'll never need), installing programs you do need, updating everything, creating your personal settings, etc. Here is a general idea of how to access the hidden recovery partition.

HP Recovery From Partition

Let's say it took you a day or two to set up your machine to your liking using the hidden recovery partition. A System Image is like a snapshot of your entire hard drive. It will include everything from the operating system to all your programs, files, photos, music, all updates ... everything. Most folks keep it on a separate external hard drive. Let's say a week later you get a virus or your machine crashes for some reason. You can use that System Image to return your machine to the exact condition it was in when you made the image. Usually takes about 30 minutes or so and you're back in business. It's a lot faster and more convenient to only worry about a week of updates compared to probably months with the hidden recovery partition. The newer a System Image is the... Read more

I have several folders for mail and suddenly one of the folders appears to have become corrupt. All the message headers are still present but the message bodies all read "Message cannot be found".

An internet search reveals that some anti-virus programs can cause this - I am running Windows Security Essentials but can't see how it could have caused this to suddenly occur.

I checked in the message store and that particular folder does not seem to exist any longer. I do so hope it may be possible to retrieve the messages and any advice will be gladly received. Running Vista (fully up to date) and Windows Mail 6.0.6000.16386.

Very necessary software by which you will easily recover lost MS Outlook data in case of failure. Outlook stores its data in PST files; these files contain messages, contacts, tasks, notes, appointments, and journals. Outlook Fix Toolbox reads the damaged PST file, identifies and restores the data from the file. My boss spent about 2 hours going through his inbox and deleting what he didn't need and keeping what he did to free up some space. He did this on Wednesday Aug 1, 2007. Yesterday, he brought in his laptop and sync'd it to the network because i was doing updates on his machine. When it sync'd his email, all of the messages he had previously deleted came back into the inbox. (on both machines)

Is there a way for me to get his inbox back to the way it was on Wednesday? I thought maybe I could do a backup of it now and then restore it to the back to Wednesday and then just inport the messages from the last two days back in. I don't know if that would work though. Any thoughts? He really doesn't want to have to go through them all again.

Thank you in advance for any help.

I have been using Windows Live Mail, along with Live Messenger, for quite some time. I loved it, because even though it wasn't the fastest of applications, it simply worked. I have Windows 7 Home Premium

Now, for absolutely no reason I can point out (I did start using Visual Styles, but I can't see the connection), it won't connect anymore. Basically on the bottom left corner it displays "Connecting...". That's it, it doesn't ever connect at all. I can't send or receive e-mails. When that window with the tasks show up, the bar that is supposed to indicate progress doesn't do anything. And my CPU usage is insane, I have a desktop mini-app to monitor the performance and I never have it that high. Not even when WLM worked fine did it ever reach that high.

I started using Mozilla Thunderbird, but it sucks just slightly less than WLM. I can see my e-mails, but I can't properly download documents, at least powerpoints. I'm working on a presentation, and tried downloading it, and it said the file was corrupt and couldn't be repaired. I have to open the file, then save it, like a god damn animal.

I have a feeling someone is going to ask me something about my anti-virus... So yeah I tried disabling avast! and Zonealarm's firewall and WLM is still counting to potato.

Hello all,

I'm working an issue for a client that's very odd.

At first they were unable to receive mail in Windows Live Mail (2011). It was giving a generic "server time out" error which indicated to me a corrupt or stuck message.

For me step 1 is always un-install norton (which I did)

Afterward I accessed their account via web-mail and cleared out all the new messages; the error persisted.

So, I rebuilt the account. During the process of re-downloading all 17,600 messages (since they had marked to leave all on the server) I discovered and cleared 2 corrupted messages (1 at the top of the box and one at the bottom in the very old mail).

So, all mail was received and they were sending and receiving with no trouble.

I installed AVG and returned their computer.

Two days later they call very upset that system performance had come to a crawl since I worked on thier machine.

Turns out the system is performing just fine; its only the email that is slowed down everything else seems fine.

So the new problem:

Windows Live Mail freezes for exactly 49 seconds after you hit reply the first time you hit reply in that session. Every subsequent time it opens immediately with no lag.

In investigating this issue I found perhaps the underlying cause. When I go into the options and click on the "Spelling" tab it complexly locks up WLM and I have to end process on it to get out of it.

Here's what I've done to try and repair it:

Not loving the new situation here.
WLM 2011 is dragging its feet like a reluctant child! I have one hotmail account and one gmail account set up. When I click on a different folder to 'see' what's inside that mailbox, a little window pops up in centre screen saying ' Updating your changes' and 'to stop updating your email account, click cancel'.

My laptop is a pretty spec'd out gaming notebook from ASUS (G50V) so no RAM issues or general slowness ever normally occurs. It is definitely WLM. I have even disabled the extra level of virus scanning by AVG free edition to see if it was a conflict there. Nope.

2 Questions - 1> How do I troubleshoot this? 2> Is this worth troubleshooting or should I just move to thunderbird or another simple email client. I have Office 2007 (which comes with the full Outlook) but I disliked this even more than the current version (at the time) of WLM, so have uninstalled it. Too much stuff on the screen - I want it simple and clean. Lookswise, WLM is just fine! But damn.... SOOOOO slow.

After reinstalling Windows Live Mail, I grabbed the contacts file off my backup and it restored. Hooray. Except the entries only show the contact's email address... all of the "names" are gone. I would have assumed that they would all be together in the same file. Does anyone know if there is another contacts file with the names and if I have to restore that as well? Hello and welcome thread mate probably a daft question but why remove it?? I use it all the time with the amount of mails I have and it takes up such little space.

Having said that I would hazard a guess that apart from mucking around in the registry (fraught with horrible consequences) I can see no way of doing what you want to do.
If you do want to go that route I would suggest doing this at the earliest opportunity. I always do this after each and every install in two locations for safety sake.

Hi

I have a problem using Windows Live Mail, downloaded and installed separately. As others have described, it is possible to launch WINMAIL (using wlmail.exe) and despite NOT entering a password, the program opens AND displays current emails. This surely is not right. I have cleared all cookies and made sure I have not saved this password anywhere. IF I go to www.hotmail.com and login I can see my emails. I logout. I go to Live Mail using the wlmail.exe shortcut on my desktop. I enter NO password and again I access my email...

And on a separate issue with Windows Live Mail, I use it to browse newsgroups, but for the life of me I cannot see how to download additional headers. For example, I subscribe to a Springsteen newsgroup. It displays 584 headers and tells me there are an additional 3500 for download, BUT I CAN'T SEE how to "force" an additonal download of any of these further topics.

Any help would be appreciated.

A:Windows Live Mail for NEWSGROUPS and Login "problem"

Roddy:

I have a lot of experience with newsgroups, but I used Windows Mail for only a month or so last spring and don't recall its details.

Newsreaders often have a setting that can limit the number of headers to be downloaded. All I can suggest is to pull down every menu you see and look it for anything that remotely looks like that choice.

Have you tried unsubscribing from the Springsteen group and then resubscribing?

For what it's worth, I have switched to Thunderbird for email and newsgroups and am not having any issues on Windows 7.

I'm using the current version of Windows Live Mail, which will not allow the user to print only a "selection" of an email message. The user is only allowed to print the entire message or selected pages.

The prior version of Windows Live Mail (2009) did include this feature.

Why has this feature been deleted from the current version?

It is not an efficient use of the user's time to have to highlight and paste a selection of an email into another program in order to print only the selection desired. Alternately, it is wasteful of paper to have to print an entire email message when only a selection from it is needed.

I cannot fathom why Microsoft removed this essential feature from Windows Live Mail.

Please, please, please put it back!

When creating a new message how do I move the "From" box to the left of the screen so that it lies directly below the "To" box (as used to be the case with Outlook Express)? At the moment the "From" box is located at the far right of the screen. As I have a 16x9 screen and a number of email addresses it is far too easy to press the Send button before realising that I have the wrong address in the "From" box. Yes, I know that I should be prefect and carefully check first, but it is simply too easy to make a mistake. There must be some way of moving the "From" box back to a more sensible position.

I have never done this before, but I know you can "export" emails to a folder of your choice and later "import" back.

Open WLM > File > Export emails > email messages > Microsoft Windows Live Mail > Next > select a folder...........
You will have to take it from there as I have never used this method.

This is actually a 'sticky', not a request for help. I provide computer tech support to about a dozen families. One of them recently told me that they could no longer send or receive e-mails. Their e-mail client is Windows Live Mail 9 ("WLM9", which is also the version I use). I had encountered the same problem about a week ago (9/21/13) after installing a Win 7 update. After the update, when WLM9 was opened, I would get TWO popup messages saying I was working offline and did I want to go online. Clicked 'yes'. Message repeats. Clicked 'yes' again. WLM9 is still offline, and going to Files and trying to uncheck "Work offline" did not work; it was permanently locked into working offline.

It occurred to me that I had just run a Win 7 update. So I did a system restore back to 9/15 (well before the 9/21 update). Voila! WLM9 then worked online. So I hid the 9/21 "critical" update so it would not show up and would therefore not be installed. WLM9 has continued to work perfectly ever since.

I did essentially the same thing with the Win 7 computer I support, and WLM9 is now working again.

Now, a short explanation: Why am I (and my clients) still using WLM9 instead of updating to WLM12? Two main reasons:

WLM12 has fewer (not more) features than WLM9. One member of the family I mentioned supporting had a stroke and is sight impaired. She needs to create e-mails with a yellow background and an 18-pt. font. WLM12 does not ha... Read more

**** BACKGROUND INFO ****

My e-mail client is Windows Live Mail Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8064.0206).

I've used various versions of this software for several years. I use it only to handle e-mail from four different hotmail.com e-mail accounts.

I have set the following safety options:

(1) Safe List Only

(2) Report junk e-mail to Microsoft and its partners

(3) Bounce the blocked messages back to the sender (when I click the "Delete and block" link on messages)

(4) If the e-mail is a mailing list, unsubscribe me from the mailing list (when I click the "Delete and block" link on messages)

My PC is a TOSHIBA laptop (P100-ST9612) running MS Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Service Pack 3, current with all critical updates. Intel Duo-Core CPU T2600 at 2.16GHz and 3GB RAM recognized out of 4GB RAM installed.

**** MY ISSUE ****

When I click the "Delete and block" link on an e-mail message, no e-mail address is added to the Blocked Senders list.

The Blocked Senders list remains empty.

I've discovered that I can manually add senders' e-mail addresses to the Blocked Senders list using the following menu selections.

Actions > Junk e-mail > Add sender to blocked senders list

A:Windows Live Mail "Delete and block" Feature Seemingly Broken

Perhaps, this issue is a function of Microsoft's hotmail.com service versus a glitch in the Windows Live Mail software.

The "Delete and block" link has added e-mail addresses to the Blocked Senders list in the distant past.

Hi Folks,

My elderly mother somehow crashed her e-mail, and I'm trying to fix it for her. It is a Comcast.net pop mail server. She clicks the Live Mail icon on her desktop and the mail would open.

She could still go to Comcast.net on the web and get into her e-mail but that is too complicated for her. So I need to get it working from her desktop.

After the crash when the mail opens from the desktop icon all folders (inbox, sent etc.) have the error message "Unable to display folder".

I want to uninstall all current mail installed then install anew. I tried this but then the new Live Mail reverted to her old settings etc (I don't know how that happened), and hence the same error message. So I must not have uninstalled all of the old e-mail.

Can anyone please help as to the easiest way to get her live mail from the desktop icon working again?

Thank You

A:Live Mail crashed. Now error mssg " Unable to display folders"..?

Do you sense that your nice Mom's old mailboxes are still around? Or, have they been deleted by now? Reason for asking: I know where in [user] AppData Local and Roaming where the Mozilla Thunderbird doodads, doohickies, and mailboxes are. I'm hoping Windows Live Mail does the same thing. If so, it's possible to reconstruct from any recent restorable folders/files backup. If no backups, then, I don't know any further.

When trying to start Windows Live Mail I get an error message stating "Windows Live Mail could not be started. Closing Windows Live Mail. Your calendar contains corrupted data that is forcing WLM to close".

The error number is 0800010105.

I have researched this on the internet and found numerous possible solutions and have tried all of them with no luck in solving the problem. So far I have tried:
1. Uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Live Mail.
2. Running repair on Windows Live Mail.
3. Checking the date and time and unchecking the box to adjust for daylight savings time.
4. Deleting the Calendar folder under the Windows Live Mail folder.
5. Deleting my Hotmail Calender on the web and creating a new calendar.
6. Creating a new user account and running Windows Live Mail under that account (same result).
7. Resetting Internet Explorer to the default settings.

I am including the WindowsLiveMail.log file as follows:

Three times in the last 24 hours this warning has opened on my Desktop, after I have just closed Windows Live Mail [WLM] . After the warning disappears from the Desktop, WLM opens yet again.

Naturally I've allowed the issue to be reported to MS and sent the information, but I note that there is also a File that describes the event, in this case:

C:\Users\Tony\AppData\Local\Temp\WER21C8.tmp.hdmp

Is there any way that I may attempt to either fix or resolve this issue myself? For starters, I haven't a clue about how I access the quoted File, and if I did, I don't know what to do with it anyway.

Or is this yet another of those situations where you just grin and bear it until MS come up with something to resolve the issue? Hope not 'cos it's mildly annoying...

A:"Windows Live Mail has stopped working" - Files describe event; Fix?

1) Ignore error message.
2) Do a "repair" of Windows Live Essentials via Programs and Features
3) Use the Disk Cleanup utility
3) Use sfc /scannow via the command prompt window.

Which version of Windows Live Mail are you using ?
Version 2011 (15.4.3508.1109)

Operating System version :
Windows Vista SP2

Enter the exact error that you are experiencing :
"windows live mail has stopped working"

Additional Details
When I close windows live mail it will give me a message that says " windows live mail has stopped working and is looking for a solution " then it will say it is restarting and will do this loop until I have clicked cancel on both boxes before window to restart opens. It has done this with the album viewer too but the last time I unistalled Essentials 2011 and reinstalled it. I only installed the writer and Live mail. Then after that I uninstalled evrything and did a clean install but still did not resolve issue.

I think you have to wait until you get a piece of junk email that was put in to the Junk email folder automatically by WLM. Then open it and choose that option which appears at the top.

Using Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail.

In Eudora, there is an easy way to select multiple addresses for a single mail; just hold the Ctrl key and click to select multiple addresses, then click "To" of "CC" or "BCC". I can't find an easy way to do that in Windows Live Mail.

Is there a way?

I have used WLM for some time now with no issues. Today I received a message asking me to invest in a product. I replied that I had no interest in it. My reply could not be sent as my mail system said it was too big for my mails server to handle.

I deleted most of the body of the message and resent it.

The result is that when I try to open WLM I get the "sending" window with a full green line and I cannot open anything else.

I have tried to shut it all down with Task Manager with no joy - my email is completely useless.

Any suggestions please ?

First time in the forum.

In Win Live Mail when I click on an email it goes poof! and disappears. This is an intermittent occurrence, but now it is happening more frequently. Occasionally, I can find it in Trash, but not very often.

I installed Thunderbird, hoping it would fix whatever glitch was in Win Mail. But, the same thing is happening.

I don't what what to do at this point.

Hoping someone can help me out.

Could removing it do any potential harm or damage to Windows XP, IE or Live Mail itself?

When I try (not every instance) to open device manager I will get the message "Failed to open empty document." From there I will occasionally get "Parser" messages that say "Value creation failed at line 843" or "line 422." I read what I could find about these messages and it points to MMC as the cause. MS thinks that one of my PCs is running W7 that's not genuine. It is genuine - at least I bought it from Amazon and paid ?141 for it so that - to me - means it's genuine. It may not be but neither Amazon nor MS will take any responsibility for it not being genuine so I've given up with them both. I think that the issue arises because of hardware changes I've made. Oh - yes, I've lost the box with the key on it too.

Long story short. I use this PC very little and when I first first got the black screen and messages after I installed a larger hard drive and reinstated the drive image from an Acronis backup. I stupidly forgot to reinstate the drive signature. Then it happened again when I changed the ITX motherboard.

Now here's the real question. Every now and then it gives me the "black screen" treatment. I fix it by restoring a drive image and turning off W7 updates.
If the damned thing is told not to call home then it shouldn't should it? What's going on? It seems to give me a month or two and then goes psycho on me like HAL9000!

A:How do I stop W7 "calling home" and displaying "not genuine" messages?

If this is an OEM version then I can understand why it's doing this after you changed motherboards, since it is forever tied to the first one it is installed on.

If you can follow these instructions for activation issues,

Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instructions

The results of that can help resolve your issue.

Filling in your system specs will help as well,

System Info - See Your System Specs

If your installation is valid then there's no reason to turn off updates or try to keep it from calling home.

Ok where do I begin?! I have been dealing with viruses, spyware/malware for the past week. It all started with Norton advising me that I had been infected with Trojan. Vundo and Trojan.Zonebac. After that I started receiving many different pop ups warning me about critical system alerts. I also had an annoying yellow triangle at the bottom of my screen warning me about different trojans and worms. More evil friends included 2 new icons that had made their home on my desktop one named "Live Safety Center" and the other "Online Security Guide", also installed was a new toolbar named "Security Toolbar 7.1". I have scanned my computer with many different programs and have somehow finally managed to get rid of the pop ups and toolbar, although I know I'm probably still infected somewhere. I'm sorry this is so long but, I wanted to explain EVERYTHING! I'm running Windows XP SP2, and have followed all steps to post. I downloaded DSS, but after many attempts to run, it just wouldn't let me. I do have a fresh hijackthis log and my Panda report, I hope this is good enough.

I have a home network of five computers where one acts as a common computer ("server") where most data from the other four computers is stored (music, pictures, word processing, movies, etc). All five are running XP Pro SP2.

The "server" had two 80GB hard drives, but SMART was indicating that one was failing, so I replaced it with a 200GB drive. Now, every computer in the house can access the 80GB drive and all of its files but none of the computers in the house (except the "server") can access the new hard drive. I have the file sharing set to full access, and I can view the file folders that are on the drive from the networked computers, they are all listed. But when I click on a folder, I get "Access is Denied." When I mouse over a folder, it reads, "Folder is Empty"

But the folder isn't empty though when accessed from the local computer, only when trying to access it over the network.

I have turned off the Windows Firewall, turned it on again, off again, etc, no change. I have Zone Alarm on all the computers, turned it off, still no change.

Any ideas??? I have over 500 CDs on that harddrive, and I want to listen to music from my other comuters! I'm going nuts here.

A:"Access Denied", "Folder Empty" messages

There are two ways that might work.

1. From a computer other than the server right-click "My Computer" and choose "Map Network Drive". Where is says "Folder" type "\\<ip address>\C$" if you want to share the C partition of that drive (don't type the quotes).
2.
Go to My Computer and and click on the Tools Menu and then Folder Options.

Click the view tab.
Scroll all the way down until you see "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)" and uncheck it.
Click OK.

Now right-click the drive you want to share and choose "Sharing and Security".
Click the security tab.
Click "add" and add "Everyone".
Give "Everyone" the rights you want them to have "Read only" or whatever you want.

Could some please explain the correct sequence or syntax of the http entries in the Internet Explorerís browser address line to invoke the name and password entry box for a D-Link Camera, when accessing it remotely?

I have a dynamic host, which has an address that is entered in the browser's open box, in the following format:
http://servername.dynamichostnameortnumber. The port numbers are the ports assigned to the two cameras. The server name is the same server name that is assigned to the router and the DYNdns host. The dynamic host name is set up with DYNdns.org and has been tested using their tools and is reported as working.

I have tried the remote (internet) access on computers running both Windows XP home and professional, service pack 3.

The cameras are DCS-6620G 802g Wireless cams. Have configured cameras. If I am on my wireless intranet, I can access the cameras by either typing in their local IPs into the open box on the File Menu of Windows Internet Explorer or by using the IP Surveillance Software, no problem, so far. Each camera has an internal static IP, and each has been assigned its own HTTP port number which has been forwarded to the respective static IP in the Linksys WRT54G router.

Each Camera has an administrator name and password that has been saved. When accessing on my intranet, either through IE or the Surveillance Software, there is a drop down box that opens to input the name and password. This works fine on the intranet.

Each camera has an internal static IP, and each has been assigned its own HTTP port number which has been forwarded to the respective static IP in the Linksys WRT54G router.

Dear Sirs.

My Outlook Express (OE) program asked if I want to archive messages to make a faster access to my computer (or something like that). After I did accept, I found out that one year (sep 1, 2007 - aug 31, 2008), of my messages were gone. I have messages that go back to 2002, and they are still there. Te version of the OE is 6, and my computer uses Windows XP, Pentium M. Any idea where I can find my information?.

Thanks

I have "SERVER", alive and well, even after installing SP3.
I really don't use it though and have it set to "Manual".

I just checked and I was able to 'Start' and 'Stop' Server.

A:Need to get rid of "Live Safety Center" and "Online Security Guide"

I did follow MicroBell's 5 Step process and the Panda scan said that no virus could be found. However, my Avast anti-virus warned me 5-6 times about files while I was running the Panda virus scanning. One of them was named "win.exe" and was in C:\temp\ but has now been deleted. Every time Avast issued a virus alert I chose the option to delete the file in question.

I don't have a clue where to begin trying to fix this problem. I keep getting random icons on my desktop called "online security guide" and "live safety center". There are also many fake balloon warnings appearing and a window titled "Critical System Warning!" that wants me to download stuff. What process can I go through to clean my system. I didn't have this problem until I upgraded to Norton 2008. I am currently running IP tool antivirus and spyware, I also have ran Smitfraudfix, still getting pop ups like crazy. Also my IP tools is finding Trojan.Virtumonde. I use Quicken and it seems to have attacked it because I am no longer able to use it. Any help would be great...thank you!

Outlook 2003:I'm a massive fan of outlooks Search folders, I receive in excess of 400 emails per day, of which approximately 250 need my attention, even if to reply back and give someone an answer.

A problem I find is that I am so busy with my emails, I often need to clean out my inbox. I do this by setting up basic search folders such as "all emails from my team which are in my inbox only" or "any email sent to me which was part of a distribution list in my inbox only" etc...

This is great for filtering my mail and I would like to create a rule as such:

"All mail within my inbox which has been either replied to forwarded by myself".

I can't seem to find any options and I'm hoping an Outlook guru can help

If you don't know the answer, can you try googling it for me to see if you can find anything, loads of heads are better one...

Thanks in advance

New to the forum, hoping to find answers or new ideas to try...
My Win7 OS computer has problems seeing my WD network drives most of the time. I'll say up front that my Macbook, my Windows XP laptops, all other computers of various types in my house see and access these drives just fine, but the one with Windows 7 Pro will not. It occasionally will see and access them for short periods of random time though, which really has me baffled. These drives are right on the same network switch as the Win7 computer.

The scenario goes like this:click on the drive name to view contents... 20 or so seconds pass, popup says "Windows cannot access \\drive-name".
I try the second NAS drive, same thing.
I try the "diagnose" feature to no avail. I've even explored some of the "explore additional options" suggestions to no avail.
I can ping the IP addresses of both these drives all day long and they respond without fail.
Weird thing is that very occasionally I will click the drive and the file folders show up and I can transfer files, or whatever I want, for a short random period of time.
I swear, this problem is driving me crazy! I've been resorting to using a flash drive to transfer files on this computer's HD to the WD network drives via an XP OS computer, or via the Macbook. I like Windows 7 other than this very frustrating problem.
Soooo... any ideas or suggestions? Anyone else have this issue and figured it out??
TIA for any and all comment... Read more

Please note that "Windows Live Mail" is NOT listed as one of the alternatives. Is there a means whereby I can either add Windows Live Mail to the list or to change what happens when I click on the author's e-mail address so that I am taken to Windows Live mail rather than this list of potential e-mail programs?

A:Adding "Windows Live Mail" to Windows 8.1 List of programs

Hello David,

That is a list of email providers that you have an email account with. "Windows Live Mail" is the name of an email client program, and not an email account provider.

What's the last part of your email address after the @ sign? This would be your email account provider.

The tutorial below can help give you more help on this for now.

Hello. About a week ago, in my Hotmail account, all my Inbox messages suddenly began to be 'diverted' straight into my Deleted folder, though (thankfully!) they weren't actually deleted.

(I checked my filter options and found that these were normal (low), and that in any case messages were going into my Deleted folder, not into the Junk one used by the filter. As far as I can see, the limited Hotmail options don't give any direct control over this.)

Then, a few days ago, messages began to come again into my Inbox: but they would remain only for a period, before being diverted to my Deleted folder, as before.

Any help sorting this out would be much appreciated!

PS: This malfunction seems to have affected the Outlook Express access to my Hotmail account too: since I've had this problem with my Hotmail Inbox messages, OE hasn't downloaded any messages from my Hotmail Inbox at all, even when I know that messages are there. When the OE Send and Receive button is clicked, OE searches and authenticates etc, but even when I know a message was in my Hotmail Inbox at that moment, nothing appears in my OE Inbox. Then when I go back to Hotmail, I find the message that was in my Inbox has moved to the Deleted folder! (Whilst this problem persists I have configured OE to leave a copy of messages on the server.)

This afternoon, all of a sudden, I couldn't log into Outlook, Gmail, enter an address in IE or use Google. Whenever I entered a "r" the "Run" box would appear and whenever I entered an "e" the search box would appear. Most of the letters worked OK but a lot of them brought up something else. This has never happened before. I tried using "System Restore" all the way back to 12/31 but that did not help. I have been running ESET NOD32 (it's 97% finished and although it hasn't found any virus infections, it has located numerous errors opening files.)

Then, all of sudden, the situation corrected itself and I was able to log into Outlook and Gmail and use Google.

Has anyone heard of this? l thought I would post this problem to see if there is anything I can do to correct the situation rather that hope that it corrects itself.

Thanks in advance for all suggestions/comments.

Hi, My name is Fran. I've had something strange going on for a while (a month?) and I thought I'd give this a shot to figure out what the problem is. As I said in the Topic title, I have blank Outlook 2003 emails that keep showing up in my Inbox/Sent Mail/Deleted Mail Folders for my hotmail account in Outlook 2003. They all are the same size, but have various times. I contacted Microsoft, and they suggested that I reset my passwordsand security questions for all of my email accounts. I did this, but the problem has continued in my Hotmail account in Outlook 2003. This has made me suspect that I have something on my computer that picked up the new password. I fear that someone or something is hijacking my computer and want to put a stop to it. I read something today about HijackThis and decided to give it a try. I installed the software and ran a scan generating a log file. It then instructed me to use one of the forums for assistance in a list on their website in which you were at the top--so here I am.I attached the log for the scan from Hijackthis (I HAD TWO FILES AND WAS UNSURE WHICH YOU SHOULD GET, SO I UPLOADED BOTH--I RAN TWO SCANS WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF EACH OTHER, BUT AM UNSURE IF THESE LOGS ARE FOR EACH OR JUST ONE SCAN). And, when I looked at the scans' logs, it was all Greek to me. Of course, if there is any other info you need, please just let me know. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. When Outlook Express is opened, every e-mail that was sent "return reciept requested" causes Outlook Express to try to send a return receipt, which then fails resulting in an error message.

OE ignores all changes to the "return receipt" functions and continues to try to send them even before they are opened; when the mouse hovers over the particular e-mail.

A recent malware infection (which has been removed) caused a change in the registry and turned off Task Manager (which has been corrected). I suspect the problem with OE is also a registry issue, but cannot Google any information on this specific function or issue.

Two questions:

1. Is there a registry entry that controls the fuction of OE's "return receipt" function ?

2. If OE is uninstalled & reinstalled, will the stored e-mails be lost ?

An aggravating factor is that sbcglobal does not have a configuration setting to prevent duplicate e-mails from being downloaded and a recent change to the e-mail account by sbcglobal has resulted in the messages being duplicated 2 and 3 times in OE, and it is attempting to download another 4000 ( ! ) more, which will also all be duplicates.

This "return receipt" problem is preventing the ability to delete the duplicate & unwanted e-mails, so OE's functionality is reduced to nil.

Also, is there a static limit to the number of messages that OE can store & manage ?

Is your computer able to boot up into "Safe Mode"? If so, boot the computer into safe mode and go to the device manager and un-install the videocard. Reboot the computer and boot into Windows and let the Operating System re-detect the videocard. Then install the drivers and see if this alleviates your computer issue. if the value in any column is less than 60 it should return the result of FAIL

=IF(B5>=60, IF(D5>=60, IF(F5>=60, "PASS", "FAIL")))
If the score for the first argument is less than 60 it returns the value of False when it should be Fail.

If the score for two arguments is less than 60 returns the value of False when it should be Fail.

Any thoughts?

A:Solved: Nested IF statement return first value as False and should be "Fail"

Hi Daisy-Girl, and welcome to TSG.

Am I safe to assume you are doing this in some version of Microsoft Excel?

If so, you need to use a separate "FAIL" for each case of the IF test being false.

Code:
=IF(B5>=60, IF(D5>=60, IF(F5>=60, "PASS", "FAIL"),"FAIL"),"FAIL")
FWiW, it might be more logical and easier to understand if you used a single IF function that used the AND function to combine the individual column tests.
