Blank desktop page.

Q: Blank desktop page.

Ok, I'm sure there's an answer somewhere on Google but I can't seem to phrase it right, so here goes:

When I minimize Chrome or bring up another program like iTunes, I get a blank desktop page with none of my icons on it. Can't left-click OR right-click on it, but the taskbar still works, and if I click Show Desktop, there are my icons again. BUT if I should change anything or open up a program, back to the blank desktop.

This isn't the end of the world but it's damned annoying. Please help!

Not all the time, but 5 out of 7 days, a white blank page will appear as a 3/4's window over blocking whatever I am doing which I can select any other window or option on my toolbar and my selection will appear over the white page/window, but I have tried to close everything open and the only thing that remains is this blank white window/page blocking the majority of my desk top. This page has no options in upper right corner to close it or minimize it as well as it doesn't have any indication on my toolbar that it is even open or exists. The odd thing right now by typing this issue out, I tried right clicking on my toolbar and selecting to see my desktop which made the white page go away. Before, I tried everything to get rid if this white box by attempting to shrink it, to right clicking on it to see what pops up which nothing does, and I have tried to left click it and still nothing happens. I use to have to restart my computer to get it off my computer screen but now I guess I will just right click on tool bar and select desk top as that just worked. but I would like to know what is causing this and how to stop it. Ever since I purchased my laptop and started using it, it started to appear but not as frequent so I did not use my one time free phone tech support to solve this issue as I wanted to save it for something possibly worse that I needed immediate help with. Any suggestions, would greatly be available.

Hi

I have a problem. My office has many labs, but from a single lab when someone prints a word document onto a particular printer, it gives out an extra blank page. This blank page is not seen in the print preview unlike which was discussed in the previous forums.

This problem has been encountered only for word documents but not for .pdf files. I have tried even with a single page of word printing, it gives out another blank page. Can anyone resolve this problem. I dont think its the problem with the printer because it works well with other labs and .pdf files from this lab too. Anyways its a HP Laserjet 5SiMX.

A:Word document prints an extra blank page but that blank page is not seen in preview

Is the printer in question the default printer for the PC in that lab? Print preview shows how the document would appear based on the settings of the default printer - using another printer can cause changes such as this.

The title says it all. When I open a URL shortcut from the desktop, IE opens it to a blank page. All links opened from within IE and other programs, however, open fine.

I have spent two days searching for a solution everywhere I can locate and tried all of the solutions I found (short of a reinstall of WIN7) and nothing has worked. I have uninstalled IE 10 back to IE8 and reinstalled it twice, but each reinstall of IE8, 9, and 10 have not gotten rid of the problem. I must stay with WIN7 and IE10 for now for various reasons so I need to find a solution.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

I have a problem when opening a new tab on iexplorer 11. Once opening a new tab, it shows a blank page but I would like it to open to the new tabs page, the page that shows the ten most commonly used web pages. I go to internet options, click on the tabs button, make the change from blank page to new tabs page, click apply, ok, ok. All works well for a while but it then somehow mysteriously changes back. I can not seem to get the desired change to remain. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I often right click in IE (I'm actually using Avant, a kind of IE mask I guess) and select Create Shortcut. It puts a shortcut and my desktop to that page. This mysteriously stopped working. The icon appears on my desktop with the page title and all, but when I double click it, it just opens up my browser and loads about:blank. In the shortcut file's properties, it just says:

Type: Internet Shortcut
Description: (the title of the page)

and then gives me the file's size, location, etc., but it doesn't list the URL anywhere. It's just getting on my nerves having to copy a page's URL to a text file on my desktop if I want to remind myself of something.

A:Simple but annoying. Web page shortcuts just open a blank IE page.

Sounds like you have been hijacked by about:blank. Go to this website that will help you remove it.

Hey guys,

I have a client at my workplace who has some problems in Internet Explorer 7 on a Windows XP desktop system.

You see, every time my client wanted to print out something, he/she usually goes into print preview. From there, there is a blank page on the first page, but there is some text on the second (and subsequent) pages. He/she is trying to print from a pop-up window with the menu bars and buttons in place.

I have to experiment and play around with the zoom buttons and even change it from portrait and landscape. My client is trying to print some reports and statistics for the VOIP lines on the administration page. How do I fix the particular issue?

My best guess is to upgrade the entire IE web browser to 8 (or maybe 9). Any other suggestions?

A:IE7 - print preview shows blank on first page, but some text on 2nd page

Hello simon726,

I would recommend upgrading to IE8. IE9 is not compatible with XP.

Also is the computer running the latest service pack?

Hi there.
I recently had a trojan dnschanger on my laptop. I tried using malwarebytes program to remove it several times and then gave up and sent it in to get repaired at a shop in town. They told me there was no infection and sent it back to me. I reran the test and sure enough it was gone. but...

What had originally made me try using malwarebytes to scan ( avg, spybot s&d, and adaware did not find anything) was that my browser was acting strange. When I do a Google search and click on one of the results, it will load a blank page saying 'done' in the bottom corner, then after 5 seconds or so it will then load the page i wanted.

For instance, I click on "hxxp://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-115088-using-web-browser-page-loads-but-screen-blank" search result and it puts this:

"hxxp://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&ved=0CAcQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.kioskea.net%2Fforum%2Faffich-115088-using-web-browser-page-loads-but-screen-blank&rct=j&q=browser+loads+blank+page+then+&ei=W6JzS6q_G8PgnAec2vmyCQ&usg=AFQjCNHiczGbtPYRraVBQ_7hGcgLE2f6LQ&as_acct=9dm612l7ldg&cr=s6ar6l7"

into the top bar and sits on the blank,'done' page for 5 or 10 secs then goes to the "hxxp://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-115088-using-web-browser-page-loads-but-screen-blank" page after.

It is driving me crazy. This is doing it in firefox 3.5.7 and also in ie 8.0.7600.16385 - (i rarely use ie)

Hi my wife’s friend’s computer is having a problem, first it didn’t have any virus scan problem – so I installed AVG 7.0. AVG ran clean with the current updates. I also ran Adaware and Spybot with current updates and they removed some spyware programs.

My problem now is when I try to access Microsoft’s Windows Update page all I get is a BLANK white screen with a message "Done” in the bottom left corner. I get the same results when I go to the Symantic Security Check web page and I click on the GO button to do the security check, it open a new BLANK white window???

Could this Virus, spyware or just a setting???

Hi. I know about the common problem of people creating blank pages when they don't mean to, but this is not that problem. If I open a new document and type a few characters, it will print a completely blank page, followed by a page with my characters. If I print a 10-page document, it will print 20 pages - 10 blank interspersed with the 10 pages of the document. It prints the blank page first. I've looked through the Word prefs and don't see anything that could cause this. I deleted Normal.dot Any ideas very welcome.

A:Word 2007 prints a blank page for every page

Welcome to the forum.

I am guessing your header is messed up. You can look into editing it and saving over top of the normal.dotx but I would just suggest finding the normal.dotx and renaming it normal.old and see if that fixes your problem.

Run the unhide.exe utility. (i think it has been updated to handle this, but:

After running the unhide tool you may still be missing most of your start menu shortcuts? They can be found in a folder named smtmp inside:

These will be there unless you have removed temp files / folders

There might be three numbered folders inside C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Temp\smtmp folder. The folders will be numbered 1, 2 and 4.

Inside the 1 folder is a folder named ?Programs.? This folder should be copied / pasted to (using XP) to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu, which will already have a folder named Programs but it is safe to overwrite it since Windows will replace the subfolders without creating duplicates.

Inside the 2 folder are the quick launch items specific for the user. Select ALL of these shortcuts and copy / paste to (using XP) C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch.

Inside the 4 folder are the desktop items that should be copied to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop.

Yesterday my laptop had a hard fall. I have a HP Pavilion dv2000, its about 4 yrs old. The screen was cracked so i plugged in another monitor & was still able to use it. It worked normally. But then today i turned it on & my entire desktop was blank. My documents, downloads, music, etc is all blank. Even my favorite links on the left side is blank too. If i press 'Restore Favorite Links' it just blinks, then nothing. But the weird thing is if i search a file, for example mozilla, then its there. So all my files are still there but just cant be seen ? :/

Oh another thing, there's this pop up that comes up as soon as i turn on the computer.
'Data Already In Use
The data required by Compaq Connections is still engaged by user O.o
Proceed here instead or Exit.

The Proceed here button said attempt failed no matter how many times i try. I don't know if this has anything to do with the blank desktop. The weirder thing is I'm the only user on my laptop, don't even have a guest account. Everything still works the same but the blankness everywhere is freaking me out.

Please help.

"Compaq Connections'' is a service that automatically sends you support information, tips, ideas, and special offers from HP and our partners, especially designed for HP/Compaq desktop PC owners. It can also deliver on-line surveys that allow you to provide feedback to HP"
Compaq Connections is not needed. Disable it. Or go to Start/Run and type appwiz.cpl and press enter. In the Add Remove Programs uninstall Compaq Connections.

To just Disable 'Compaq Connections' using the MSCONFIG utility.
Click Start> Run> then type 'msconfig' (without the quotations) > click on the Start Up tab.
Find the Compaq Connections entry and uncheck the box
Reboot

Note: Upon reboot you'll get a notice that you have used the System Config Utility to change your system settings, just check the box that says 'don't show this message again'. (It'll go away on it's own after a few reboots.)

I have been having CPU issues at 100%. I contacted HP.com support and the last suggestion they suggested was to update the video card driver. I have a Nividia GSForce2 MX200 (Compaq Computer) They sent me to a link to their ftp site and I followed the instructions to download, install, and do a restart. When I restarted there were no desktop icons. It probably means that whatever files are damaged are preventing the startup from finishing. The normal internet programs that launch upon starting up the computer are not launched and I have to manually launch them by finding them. I tried doing a last known good configuiration, and when that failed in safe mode I couldn't access the Start Menu to do a system restore. I tried rolling back the driver to the previous one to no avail. I called HP and of course they wanted to charge me since it is out of warranty. I said it was their file and I asked for a supervisor who told the tech to tell me the same thing. So I was stuck with chat support. We were able to try the system restore which didn't work. I went to Control Panel and tried cliking on Taskbar or Start Menu but nothing happens. HP sent me 2 links for some patches:
HP said in an email "Based on the information that I gathered from the chat session,

Hi,
Ive been running a windows 2000 for a while now, the other day i saw it was running,
but i hadn't turned it on, and the monitor was blank.
Tried the mouse and the keyboard, but got no response, so i turned it off using the
button on the front of the computer.
To my surprise after a few minutes, it turned itself back on. I watched the monitor
as it went through the motions. Memory check. Win 2000 logo. Black and white stripe.
All seemed well, until it was about to show the desktop display, it didn't show up.
Just blank, but the computer carried on clicking and twinkling its little light. Then
the Windows start up musical sound played. Then nothing, but the PC stayed on, and
its little light would blink every so often.
I waited a while, then decided this wasn't right.
Switched it off again, and started it again. same result.

Tried again, this time i went for "Safe Mode".

It started up in "Safe Mode" , but of course it can't be used fully in "Safe Mode".
I looked around it, poked at this, poked at that, all looked normal for "Safe Mode".
Shut it down, properly this time, by using the proper shut down sequence.
It shut down ok, i thought - maybe thats all it needs, a proper shut down - maybe it
will behave itself now, and fly right.

No.
It started itself up after about four minutes, same as before.
PC running, no display.

So, i am asking for help please.

John

I've been experiencing this issue and at last I was able to solve it yesterday.

Right Click to Google Chrome exe file, select Properties. In the opened window
select Compatibility column, Set Compatibility Mode to Windows 7. Mine was set
to Windows XP SP2, that was the problem...

If you had already solved this issue there was no need to create a new thread for the solution. Your post

A:about:blank Blank Page

Hi -

I see no malware evident in those logs. This forum is for malware removal assistance.

This is default setting for IE7. To change that, you'll need to go to Tools > Internet Options > Tabs > Settings> find the radio button for "Open Home page for new tabs instead of blank page", and tick it. Click OK, and OK again to exit, and your new tabs will now open to your home page.

Should you need further assistance for this or other IE issues, please ask for help in the Internet Explorer section of the forums.

I'm haveing a problem with internet settings. When I close out of a program a blank pop up page appears. I've gone into tools and scroll down to internet options. Go to advance settings. I don't see a box that says allow blank pop ups when exiting an existing program.

How do I stop these blank pop ups?

I don't know much on how to control the desk top. I appreciate any input.

I am not sure why but recently when I go to an adult profile in Yahoo I get a white page which says the profile may contain adult material. Then when I use the Yahoo sign in it goes back to that same white page. I am using IE6 and have been for some time. This just recently began to happen on my computer and I cannot figure out why. Any suggestions as to what might have changed? I even removed my last IE6 update thinking maybe it changed something. I do not have any Parental software or anything and as for the rest of the internet sites, the sky is the limit as to what I can open up. It just seems to be the Yahoo profiles and I have no problem with them on any other computers.

Hi,

I have a problem concerning browsing a trusted website with IE8 in Windows 7, what I don't have in Windows XP or other internet browser in Windows 7.

1. The site is in "Trusted Websites"
2. Scripting, meta refresh, ect. is enabled.

The website is a "Collaboration meeting portal", which is started through a IM.
It looks like the redirect isn't working in Windows 7, cause it redirects to a blank page.

When I turn the "Internet Zone" security settings off, IE8 can redirect the page.
When I have the security settings on with debugger, I see that IE8 brakes the redirect script.
When I turn meta refresh off in the security settings, I get an Authentication error (what is normal).
What isn't normal is that all IE8 registry & security settings are the same as Windows XP but Windows 7 won't allow the redirect (only with internet security settings complete off).

This isn't just this site or computer it has to be a Windows 7 with IE8 problem
Because:
1. All settings are the same as Windows XP
2. Other browsers are not a problem
3. All Windows 7 PC's are having this problem (checked 8 PC's).

Please help me to solve this problem, but please don't come with answers like disabling AV/Firewall, delete cookies, etc.

That's odd. If the site is in the Trusted Category the "Internet Zone" should not matter since it is not in that zone. Maybe the full name of the site that you are being redirected to is not actually in the "Trusted" category, so it's being treated as in the "Internet Zone".

Not sure what you mean by "off". Perhaps you mean "low".

A:Web Page Blank

Try this:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Go to Tools / Internet Options
3. Click on the Programs tab
4. Click on the Reset Web Settings button

You might wanna see if your infested with spyware or adware:
Goto control panel>>>internet Options>>> delete cookies and temp files (offline also)
Then do this:
Download:

Adware SE
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
SpyBOT S&D
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
and

Spyware Blaster
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
Download those to your desktop>> open up adware and update, then scan your computer. Fix all it finds. REBOOT
Then run spybot S&D do the same with that.REBOOT
Then do an online virus scan
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

all of this is free
You can also get the "add on" for adware VX2Cleaner ( follow the directions to that link below
http://www.lavasoft.de/software/addons/vx2cleaner.shtml
THEN

Download hijackthis
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

Save the zip folder to your desk top. Extract it into it's own folder.
All in all. Just make sure hijackthis is in it's own folder.
RUN it and scan and save log.
Should automatically open a log in notepad copy n paste that WHOLE log here.

New to this forum. Here is my issue. I am attempting to connect to an external Sharepoint Site in order to complete an Online Sharepoint course. Two sites that I need to access, one is where the course materials are and the other is a labsite where I need to be able to complete tasks that are assigned. I have a link and a password to the sites that was sent to me by the company that I am taking the course from.

I am running IE8, when I access the link, I get to the website/sharepoint site and a pop-up window comes up that automatically puts in the domain and requests a password. I put in the password and the screen indicates website found, waiting for reply. However, the pop-up window comes up again with my password highlighted. When I click OK several times the site opens but it is blank.

My husband went to Firefox and logged in and both the course material page and the labpage opens with no problem, domain works and password works. Firefox does not work with the Sharepoint lab so I cannot complete the tasks.

My husband then used IE8 on his computer and he could not access either the course materials or the lab, he was having the same issue as I was with IE8.

The company that sent me the links, verified that the domain and the password I am using is correct and indicated they were able to log on using my credentials.

Do you have a solution?

Don't know what kind of problem this is. But here goes....
My problem is that when I try to log in to face book or game or website,a box pops up.
Pops up in the upper right hand corner, a rectangular box, it says, Mozilla Firefox,
below that it says, about blank.
It pops up for about 5-10 seconds than dissapears.it doesn't change my home page. Just annoying.

When I'm playing a game another pop up box appears after the about blank box and says:
Error- an error occurred with words with friends. Please try again latter. OR
Error-an error occurred with Zingo. Please try again latter. All these pop up boxes are very annoying......

The about blank box is the most troublesome right now.

Is there any way any one can help, Please?

Try disabling your extensions one at a time. Most likely one of them is causing the problem.

Something went haywire! When I sign-in on msn.com, instead of taking me to my email menu and more importantly my inbox, I go the msn home page. It displays the normal sign-out button and the hotmail button, complete with my current email count. OK, fine, I click the hotmail button, it connects for..ever, well, not quite, but slow. The I got nothing but a blank page for the first 50 attempts on various computers and browsers. Most recently, I get this message: "The web address you entered could not be found[more information]You were trying to go to snt126.mail.live.com%2Fdefault.aspx"

I went to login123.com, they went thru my msn account, came to a menu displaying a long list of msn type listings, showing their status, ie "working" or something to that effect and "STOPPED" I think that is exactly what was displayed. They want $109.99 to do the repair...I lost my job April...I have been sending out resumes...Be nice to check for responses!
So, any help here would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance.

On March 1st, out of the blue, my MSN Home Page started displaying a blank page with "Blank" showing on the lower left toolbar. It's only happening on my laptop running XP/SP3 and IE8. Didn't happen on my other machines with Windows 7. I did a search online and discovered lots of folks having this problelm but I'm not sure I like the suggestions some of those folks have for fixing it. I already tried clearing my cache, restarting, etc. No good. One person suggested unchecking "Preserve Favorites" before clearing the temp files, browsing history again BUT won't I then lose the hundreds of favorites I have bookmarked? If that's the case, bye-bye MSN.

A:MSN Home Page Blank

When you reset Internet Explorer you do can uncheck Preserve Favorites and you will not lose them.

Preserving Favorites has nothing to do with bookmarked pages. In this case it refers to things such as your home page (which will be changed to MSN if you have a different homepage), saved sign in names and passwords, default search provider (will be changed to Bing) and other things related to how you have IE set up.

Resets home pages, search providers and Accelerators to default setting. Deletes temporary Internet files,
history, cookies, web form information, Activex Filtering and Tracking Protection data, and passwords.

I have reset IE many times, each time unchecking Preserve Favorites and have NEVER lost my bookmarked sites.

A:IE7 Blank White Page, nothing more!

Hi Godspeed27

You might want to post your HiJackThis log over in the Security/HiJackThis forum here at TSF. They are our experts at reading the logs.

At first glance, I imagine that you really don't want the Crawler Toolbar that is starting from a suspicious spot = your inbox? Several sites identify that process as a poorly behaved adware applet that masquerades as a malware remover --- http://www.pcreview.co.uk/startup/CToolBar.exe.php

IE7 is also notoriously intolerant of non-compliant third-party toolbars.

You could try a "reset" of IE7 & see if that helps:

Quote:

To reset Internet Explorer settings
1. Close any Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.
2. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer.
3. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
5. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
6. When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the settings, click Close, and then click OK.
7. Close Internet Explorer.
Your changes will take effect the next time you open Internet Explorer.

For the full details on resetting IE7, see the Microsoft article --- http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...fe1771033.mspx

You are also running a freeware/shareware 3d window manager - why? Try living without if for a while, just to simplify things.

I use aol to surf the web. Lately, when I open a webpage a "blank page - windows internet explorer" starts flashing pages, a new one every second until there are dozens of tabs at the top that say "blank page...". Since I don't use internet explorer, I don't know why this pops up. The frequency has become worse lately.

I control/alt/delete and try to close the blank page but it says "is not responding" and then another one will pop up in the task manager. The "blank page-windows internet explorer" pages are impossible to close. I usually can close aol from the task manager and that usually stops it, but lately, even opening the task manager is iffy. Sometimes it will open, sometimes not for many tries. This is the most frustrating problem I've ever had (and I've had my share), esp. since I don't even use internet explorer! I did a search for incredimail, coolwebsearch and magentic (advice from another website) and none of these are on my computer. When I right click "blank page" in the task manager and click "go to process", I get "iexplore.exe".

So, that's it. Can you help? The internet has lots of people with this same problem, but most of them use internet explorer and most of them have windows vista instead of xp as I do.

Thanks.

I run xp sp3. Ram is 512 mb. I also run Avast anti virus and malwarebytes. And I'm on dialup if that makes a difference.

About a month ago, so far only in ebay that I can find, when I would go to certain web pages it would come up as a blank page but say done at the bottom. I thought for awhile that it might be my antivirus protection(it had a firewall included in it). It was mcafee. And I read that mcafee and norton didn't really play nice with ebay. I've uninstalled mcafee and ran their uninstall tool. I also ran ccleaner just in case. I then downloaded avast. And I didn't really get the message at first or so I thought. Now I'm still getting the message. I also thought that maybe it was my ad blocker. I have adblock plus through firefox but when I checked that program wasn't blocking anything on that page. I know my java is up to date. Does anyone have any advice? Is there something I need to update? I'm all out of ideas. I've also tried in on internet explorer and I basically get the same response. Please help.

I also wanted to add that malwarebytes and avast never find anything bad on my computer.

Hello, first try clearing your web browser's cache.TFC by OTPlease download TFC by Old Timer and save it to your desktop. alternate download linkSave any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser! Double-click on TFC.exe to run it. If you are using Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator. Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion. Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately. If not prompted, manually reboot the machine anyway to ensure a complete clean.

This is a problem that has plagued me for a while. I know there is probably a simply solution to this but anyway...
Say for example, you have an 8 page Word document and there is text on the first 7 pages but the last one is blank, how can you delete that blank page at the end ? Save me printing blank sheets if I forget to choose page selection for printing.

So when my wife tries to access Amazon on her laptop, she cannot access it using Chrome, Opera or IE. She can access it via Firefox, but would definitely prefer to use Chrome. I have run Malwarebytes, ESET online virus scan and CCleaner to no avail. I have also checked the host file to make sure there was no redirection. When using Chrome or Opera, it just comes to a blank page. In IE it asks to diagnose network connection. Anyone have any idea how I can get this to work?Edit: Moved topic from Windows 7 to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

Have you tried reinstalling or removing either opera or chrome first? Have you tried refreshing the page or reloading or check browser settings if proxy is checked?

Hi,

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3. I was using Internet Explorer 7 happily, but suddenly it has stopped working. When I open it up it kind of freezes. There's no statusbar, and the page area is completely white. It won't show anything. I can press the menus and such, but clicking things has no effect. I can't even close IE, I have to use CTRL-ALT-DEL to close it. I've tried opening IE without any add-ons, which did nothing to the problem. Neither did booting windows up in Safe Mode. Uninstalling IE7 and installing it over again has no effect either. The exact same things happens.

Can anybody help here? I've tried searching for ages but I can't find anyone with the same problem..

Regards,
Peter.

I have tried to download dds and get this error: A device attached to this system is not functioning

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium with SP2 32bit

Thank you for any help that can be offered.

My Yahoo homepage does not open to the correct page- it opens to a page from another day/time. If I refresh the page it goes to the correct date/time. When I go into my email, it will let me log in but then goes to a blank page. I have tried to run Spyware and No-Adware but the definitions are old and it won't update, it says it was unable to retrieve data. I'm not sure what to do

A:Blank Yahoo page

j9nl,
I have experienced similar problems with yahoo mail and I may have a suggestion for you.
First, I have been using Mozilla Firefox for a few months without any problem with Yahoo mail. Then the other day I could sign into mail but then it would display a blank page. Tried numerous times with the same result.
So I used Internet explorer and was able to access Yahoo mail with no problem, so something was up with Firefox. So on a whim I cleared the cache. Now it works just fine. Can't explain why.
So clear your cache and see what happens
Good Luck
