Hello, I ve been experiencing this problem around 2-3 months

Whatever game I play after few seconds some graphics start to change and corrupt. If im lucky it turns completely black and game closes itself and returns to desktop. And gives this error :
If I am not lucky, it gives bluescreen error and restarts the pc :

After restart windows reports :

Things I tried so far:

* Format - didnt work
* Driversweep cleaning and re-installing drivers - didnt work
* Used some old nvidia drivers - didnt work
* After format no windows update or driver update, - worked but I cant get any performance from it with Nvidia 267.54, this is not a solution. I cant play most of the games that I could play before. Very low performance even in lowest graphics.
* Underclocking - didnt work, I did it to everypossible number, rendering still happens however can play longer it is randomly and takes more time to crash. Mostly around 15-30min (without underclock max 30 seconds) still not a solution. Also tested in heaven benchmark, when underclocked there is still rendering but no crash or bluescreen, with normal settings max 20 seconds and black... Read more

Last night the power went out and I tripped over something and hit my desk causing The GPU my PC to unseat itself. This morning when I booted it up. My computer is unusable because I get the Nvidia kernel error. I tried everything I could think of but to no avail. Will physical damage cause such a problem?

Do you know that the GPU unseated itself because you inspected something with your own eyes? Or for some other reason?

You say you "tried everything I could think of". Name as many of those things as you can recall.

Filling out your system specifications might help.

Hello everyone
I recently installed windows 7 ultimate and i have some serious issues with it.
at first when i installed it, and it booted for the first time into windows i got the BSOD everytime, only way i got passed it was to boot up with driver certification disabled. i was finally able to boot into windows 7.
First thing i noticed was that everything responded very slow, if i clicked the start button it took up to 5 seconds for it to respond. still everything acts very slow.
so after a while i got the error "display driver nvidia windows kernel mode driver 195.39 stopped responding and has recovered succesfully"
so my screen starts to flicker black, and i get the BSOD once in a while.
I can't run the performance test because my system freezes up.
i tried upgrading/downgrading nvidia drivers, installed direct x disable aero and so on
ive done alot of research on the web but i can't find any solutions to it.

Whenever I play Skyrim or Fallout 4, my graphics driver crashes and an error shows up saying the kernel has stopped working. This only occurs when playing those 2 games. I play CSGO for 3-4 hours straight and the computer never crashes, but when I play those 2, the computer crashes. The crashes only occur when entering or exiting a building or fast travelling. Sometimes, the game crashes mid game, but very rare.

Updating drivers made it worse as it crashed even more.

Yesterday, I got a BsOD. It was nmi_hardware_failure.

Hello whoever reads this call for help.
Since some time I have two reoccuring errors that just wont stop annoying me.
1. From time to time the screens turns black and I get the message that the Nvidia Kernel mode driver 344.65 crashed and was restarted.
This problem occured first. It happens sometimes when I am playing games, but not everytime. Sometimes it even crashes when I am just browsing the internet (less then 5 tabs) and run (as far as I know) no other programs.
Some users seem to have that problem, but the forums of Nvidia seem to remain without attention from the developers site.
2. Nvidias NvOAWrapperCache.exe is apparently not compatible with the 64 bit version of Windows and can't start/ run (so the error message).
This keeps popping up whenever I do something. If I don't close the error text, apparently nothing happens.
I was not able to find a lot about this problem, but finally I found a thread on your forum where fireman4it apparently solved a similar problem. Unfortunatly I was not able to follow his way to solve the problem because FRST64 obviously gave me a different log. But since I am not sure, if this is the right thing for me to do in the first place, I want to ask if someone here could please find the time to try to help me and tell me what I could do.

I have a big problem with my samsung rv720-s02nl notebook.
Since I have reinstalled windows 7 I was getting a lot of errors.
When clean install and all the drivers were updated I got random screen freezes. I had to press the power button until the system was powered down.
The message said Nvidia driver stopped responding and has recovered(dutch).
I tried to use the old drivers (straight from the samsung support site) but they also didn't help.

I tried this "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error in Windows 7 or Windows Vista but that didn't stop the problem, but it resolved the bsods(screen freezes) but i still get error messages about the nvidia driver has stoped working and didn't respond. And still sometimes the computer freezes.

Hopefully you can help me with this.
Sorry for my English, i'm Dutch.

I installed Blue screen viewer and it said the problems were caused by dxgkrnl.sys driver. I searched on google but I found no valuable solutions.

I have used the SF Diagnostic Tool, see my attachment.

I'm experiencing this when running different Adobe applications and sometimes just randomly it will occur. I've seen this problem posted by many on the web and haven't found a successful solution for me. I've rolled back my driver to the earlier 347.88 version because some were saying that fixed the problem for them, but I'm still experiencing the display driver "crash".

I haven't ever seen this before and I've had my NVIDIA 760 for a couple years now but I recently upgraded my MoBo to the new MSI Z170A. Then it started immediately. From here I'm not real sure how to troubleshoot the issue. I've also seen some suggesting that it may be a problem with my power supply, but I never ran into any issues before.

These are the 2 entries I find in the system log:

"Unable to recover from a kernel exception. The application must close."

"The NVIDIA OpenGL driver detected a problem with the display
driver and is unable to continue. The application must close."

Did you clean install windows when you swapped boards?

Next the cx line from corsair is not intended for any type of stressful use. It is for a basic build ONLY. Even corsair says it is only for a basic build;

Since you have a marginal pw supply [for use with a high end video card] Have you checked your voltages; specifically the 12V, 5V, and 3.3V values? If not, do so.
I never use msi boards so I am not sure if any monitoring software is available on the support page. If there is, download and install the monitoring software. Post the voltages here.

For the past couple of weeks I have been receiving a crash on and off, mostly while browsing, my screen will go black and then come back on a short time later with the error "Nvidia Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered"

From a bit of searching and past experiences, I have found that this is apparently a long lasting problem that few people have been able to fix, most people seem to say it is an Nvidia driver issue, because of this I didn't think much of it.

However today while playing multiple games, I have received another crash I haven't received before:
My screen goes black for a bit, before coming back on and then displaying the crash shown, followed by an error to say that the game I was playing at the time has stopped working.

Today Is the first time I have seen this crash, but the crash has occurred at least 4 times today.

As mentioned I wasn't too worried about the first crash I was receiving but after receiving this new crash today (unable to recover from a kernel exception) I am a bit more worried that maybe my GPU is starting to fail.

I am currently running the latest Nvidia drivers for my GPU and running Windows 10 64-bit, any help on what may be causing these crashes or any tests I could do to help get to the bottom of what may be causing these crashes would be greatly appreciated.

Im not the best at GPU troubleshooting so even with a program I don't know what to look for other than temperature.

thanks in advance,

Hello everyone! I tried posting this in the graphics card forum, but haven't had any responses so I thought I would try here seeing as how it may be a driver issue.
I've been having an issue with my GPU recently, and I'm at an absolute stand still as to what the issue could be. I'm using a custom build, and here are some of the specs:

Power Supply - Corsair 650TX V2
CPU - Intel i7-3770K
GPU - NVIDIA Geforce GTX 670
Motherboard - ASUS P8Z77-V
RAM - 16GB G.Skill DDR3 1600

Now here is my issue.
Whenever I try to launch certain programs and games such as BF 3/4, Dead Space 3, Photoshop CS6, and Sony Vegas 12, they will attempt to start, freeze, and then my display on both monitors will go black for two seconds and return to normal. I'm then greeted by a friendly little message in the corner that says:
"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version (whatever driver version I have at the time) stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

This is frustrating not being able to use these programs which I used to use on a daily basis, and play many many games. I posted about it several times on the NVIDIA forums, and have been unable to find an answer to my problem. But after doing a little (LOT) of research, I came to the conclusion that it could be one of two things.
1) It has something to do with "graphics hardware acceleration"
2) My GPU isn't getting enough power.

Finally, after doing ... Read more

I am getting this error for a long time now but it only happens with more newer games like : GTA V, heroes and generals and now also with Fallout 4.
I play alot of Counter strike and I have never had this error while playing this.
This is the error I am talking about. NOTE that this is not the same driver I use.

After a certain time my screen goes black, it closes the game I'm playing and its showing the error shown above.

Things I have tried:
Re-installing windows
Updating my graphic drivers
Installing different graphic drivers(with clean install)
Updating my BIOS
Changing settings in the Nvidia configuration window.
Checking the temperature and it does not go above 60C

I've had contact with Nvidia and tried some of the above and now they tell me I should bring my pc to a local shop to get it checked out. But first I want to ask you guys from the forum if any of you might know any solution to try out before I do that.

Coolermaster B600 600w ATX23
Seagate 1TB st1000DM003 7200 SA3
Ram is ripjaw 4x 2GB DDR3

Since I am not making this post at home I cannot make sure what the exact RAM memory is I use because I didnt buy it online.

I am also not able to upload a DXDiag report right now but I will do that when as soon as I get home.

I hope this would be enough information for now and I am looking forward for all your replies!

Hi! Every time I start a game that uses the Nvidia 940m graphics card in my Yoga 700 with Windows 10, the 'Nvidia Windows kernel mode driver' crashes after a while. The fan then is at maximum and the Yoga shuts down shortly thereafter. I already installed the Intel and Nvidia graphic drivers from the Lenovo support website and tried some tricks found on the web (card always at maximum power etc.), but nothing really helps. The solution center doesn't find any problems with the nvidia card. Support says, the problem is known and they are hoping for Windows Redstone and a better nvidia driver... Anyone else here has this problem? And found a solution??Could it help to update the chipset driver and all the other drivers from the support website too? Thanx in advance,DerHuette

Hello, and thanks for viewing this thread. A few days ago, Windows XP (Home) started giving me trouble when I booted my computer. Sometimes, it would just hang forever on the launch screen, and sometimes, it would briefly flash a "Kernel Mode Exception Not Handled" blue screen before instantly restarting the computer. I was able to successfully boot into Windows a few times, but about 20 minutes later the screen would become scrambled suddenly and the computer would inevitably lock up.

I researched this issue some and found it to be related to driver errors. I piddled around in safe mode for a while and tried to figure things out, but I decided it would be easier to just do a fresh install of Windows since I had reformatted a little over a month earlier and had very little to back up. After doing a fresh install, I was reinstalling my drivers, and the same Nvidia display drivers that I've used since I built this computer 3 years ago started causing the same problem I was having before. I booted into safe mode and uninstalled them, and the problem was fixed. Then, I tried installing a newer version of the drivers, and the same problem happened.

Since I bought this computer, this error has never occurred, so I would be grateful if anyone here could shed some light on what might be going on. Thanks in advance!

In view of the above have you now on this new install installed the motherboard drivers - chipset etc and all updates, especially SP3.
re graphics as far as I can see 258.96 is the recommended driver for that card on your system
Do you now have a Minidump from the crash AFTER this new install, if so have you examined the dump file and also do you have any warnings in device manager, including on hidden devices.

If necessary - disable restart on failure and post the full Error and parameters.

May find that Who crashed will supply the analysis of the minidump if you have one.

simply install and click analyse.

Please post the results, of the who crashed analysis as they appear, not in a file that I have to open,.
Finally if you already have the mentioned driver or you install it here are the full rlease notes with all known hiccups.
Also I notice that the motherboard includes full testing facilities and stress tests, in the event of no progress with above I would be inclined to run those

Since a week i got a new laptop from MSI (model GS70). I already installed some programs like AutoCAD, Office and so on for college. But i also installed a few games like Diablo 3 and Hearthstone.

But for some reason my laptop keep crashing when i'm trying to play hearthstone which is in my opinion not a heavy game to run. So when i try to launch i often notice that the noice is verry weird, the display is flashing and i got a pop-u that says: "Nvidia Kernel Mode Driver has stopped responding and has recovered". Mostly i have to end the task in the task manager. But later today when i tried to launch it my laptop just froze up and moments later i got a BSOD 'dpc watchdog violation' caused by driver NtosKrnl.exe. However the akward thing is that i can run diablo 3 with no problems what so ever. I have not been able to test other games yet, but so far it only happens with Hearthstone.

My Nvidia drivers are up-to-date (355.82). So i'm not sure what the problem here is.

EDIT: Since i found it very strange it only happend in Hearthstone, i also installed Heroes of the storm. At first it worked fine, but once i got in the load screen, the noice was choppy, screen flashes and moments later i got a BSOD.

( Realized I had posted in the wrong section. I apologize. :\ )

Hey, all. Before you go on and give me the normal solutions to this issue, such as hardware monitoring software, overclocking and setting the NVIDIA Driver to High-Performance, I wish to explain my scenario, and that a lot of these solutions did not work out yet. I think this is more of a dying GPU problem.

About a few months ago, I updated the drivers for my NVIDIA 555m following a few low-FPS issues ( About 30 - 20 FPS in recent games ), thinking that a new driver would help fix the hiccups in gameplay ( I have 6 GBs of RAM, an Intel i5 quad-core processor, and a 64-bit Windows 7 ). Needless to say, this fixed the FPS on my games, at least to a manageable speed, so I was happy with the move.

However, after a few days with this update, I started to notice problems. On occasion, the NVIDIA kernel mode driver would stop working, and cause Windows 7 to reset the graphics card driver. At first, I didn't pay attention to it, since it only happened once or twice per day, and nothing else occurred afterwards. However, that was my mistake - By not investigating the issue further, the problem only grew. Soon, the issues started happening frequently, and led to BSODs where Nvlddmkm.sys was the fault, with the computer saying the attempt to restart the service ultimately failed.

I have since been using the internal Intel HD Graphics, which works well on most of my games with max settings, except for games like ... Read more

Good evening all. I am hoping to find some help for my question below. I have searched the forums here for similar issues but nothing I have tried thus far has worked.

I get a black screen for about 5 seconds and then the screen recovers. Sometimes it happens 3-4 times a game (League of Legends, Skyrim) and sometimes not at all. During that time, if I alt tab, I can see this message once the screen recovers, "nvidia windows kernel mode driver version 301.42 stopped responding and has recovered."

I have a Geforce GTX 260 with Nvidia 301.42 drivers and Windows 7 64bit (full specs are in my details). My motherboard is running updated drivers. I have tried both the 294 and 285 drivers and still have the issue with both. My GPU temp is 64C which doesn't seem to be too hot (but maybe?)

So far, I've read through a lot of forum posts and tried numerous different things, including; low video settings, disabling all visual upgrades from Windows 7, selecting the video card in 3D settings in Nvidia control panel, and numerous other things.

Please someone help!

I pre-ordered Fallout 4, probably my most anticipated release yet, and I was devastated when this crash started happening. Just like my problem in Mortal Kombat X the game is utterly unplayable. This is one of the most frustrating things I have ever encountered
with a computer. Both of these releases I have specifically purchased because they are among my favorite game series and I can't play them at all.

I have a .dmp file, a dxdiag, an msinfo32 and a GPU-Z log. I can tell you right now that this is not a problem with drivers, BIOS updates, GPU temps or power consumption (at least from what MSI Afterburner graphs say) or the in-game graphics being to high.
I've done just about everything that is within my knowledge and competency. I'll take as many ideas as I can.

I did upgrade to Windows 10 during the time when Mortal Kombat X was experiencing this crash. I thought it would fix it but the problem remained despite the complete reformatting of my hard drive.

Bottleneck is probably combo of your CPU, [what video?] and motherboard chipset. [southbridge/northbridge which effects it all]

I'd try upgrading the chipset drivers and BIOS of your motherboard, found on your motherboard's web site, FIRST.

That CPU is a bit low for gaming, LoL is probably well optimized code and lower requirements as a result.

Not knowing all your hardware.... Fill in the specs, you can run msinfo32.exe from Start | search box and get the info there. Video card will be listed under Components | Display.

Guessing without it, that you could use a video card and CPU upgrade, that CPU is circa 4Q/'07 so it has seen better days, whole system replacement is probably in order, to catch up to 2013 gaming.

Looking on newegg just for an idea, this is the only LGA775 slot CPU (same slot type as a E4600) even available, and it's a refurb: (plus no guarantee your motherboard supports it, without looking it up.)

If your motherboard even has a PCI Express x16 slot, what version is it, 1.0/1.1/2.0? will likely limit a video card choice, also, let alone the PSU in it.

Hello hello.

I getting on the brinck of crying here. ."

I have a brand new build computer and had the Windows RC installed when i started to get BSOD / nvlddmkm.sys

I have sense installed a genuine Win7 after a lovely reminder from Microsoft.
With the new install i don't get a BSOD, but i do get the "Display Driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version (what ever version of Nvidia driver u have installed) stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

It only happens in games, and i have tried a lot of stuff to get it to work so i can have fun with the new gear. But just can't get a solution. Anyone here who has a experience with this problem and know possible solutions?

I have monitored the TEMP of the GPU but it does not matter if the temp is 55 or 70 c when it crashes.

I have a serious problem concerning my new Mail Server installation.

I have a PENTIUM -III 733 Mhz with Exchange 5.5 installed + Service PAck 3 for Exchange, SERVICE PACK 6 for NT 4, Internet Information Server 3. The PC is BACKUP DOMAIN CONTROLLER.

I use BIND for DNS...

The problem is that from time to time I loose the mail server...

I get the following error message when I try to check my email...
Your POP 3 server has not responded in 60 secs. Would you like to wait another 60 seconds for the server to respond?

Now. If I close the outlook express and reopen it again... Surpisingly I get access to my mailserver...

Also, from some client PCs I have problems connecting to internet sites (including my home page). For example, If I go to my home site I get the message from Explorer:

Connecting to 212.x.x.x etc

and Finaly I get an error message that this page can not be displayed (!!!my site in my web server!!!). If I click again on the same link surprisingly I get access...

This is a mystery. I can not figure out why my mail & web server sometimes responds and sometimes does not response.

I tried the following...
I entered the following info to HOSTS in a client PC... mailserver

where is an IP address for the Mail Server...

But the problem was not solved...

A:POP 3 has not responded...

It sounds more like a DNS issue here, then a problem with the actual server.

Can you please supply more information on how your network is setup? You say the website (and by that I am assuming the Exchange box with IIS3), is at 212.x.x.x, but yet you set your hosts file to point to

Could you clarify this for us.

Also, what version of Linux/Unix are you running on your BIND box? (Or are you running BIND for NT? Which is awful, and I suggest using the plain DNS server instead).

"display driver nvidia windows kernel mode driver version 332.21 stopped responding and has recovered"

Hello and thanks in advance for your help.

I am using a Dell XPS 8300 computer with the following specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1
64 Bit OS
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti

Dell has attempted to help me with this problem. Prior to having this error pop up on my screen the computer would just have a blank screen at start up after the dell logo then the windows logo appeared. They had me run the computer in safe mode with networking and they have uninstalled all drivers and reinstalled them, they ran CCleaner and fixed all registry errors/cleaned out temporary files, they installed and ran Windows Security Essentials and got rid of any malware. Finally, they decided to send me a new graphics card. They had a technician come install the new card and run a diagnostic test and update all drivers. Everything seemed to be fine but when I opened a game on the system that uses the more intense graphics, the screen went blank again. I have not played any games since but while browsing the internet at random times, I get the error message from the title of this post. The screen will go blank for a few seconds then reappear with that message. I have tried to do some research and have found that the error is probably something called TDR. However, I am not an expert and I am clueless. Please l... Read more

I was working with an audio recording software just now when I faced this error (in the subject line). The screen blacked for 10 seconds or so and then came back.

Also, I faced similar errors when I was using Power Point and a screen recorder software but the error was a bit different nvlkdm has stopped working. Also, I had just installed IE 9 beta (hardware acceleration), opened the first site and the system crashed and I had to do a hard reboot and unistall IE 9 to save my life from such errors again. The errors are just random. The nVidia drivers are downloaded the official nVidia and are the latest available for my DELL XPS M1530 with 8600M GT. (OS Win 7 Ultimate 32bit)

I also got two BSOD's at different time with a message saying:
"Unable to reset the display. A problem occured with the display driver driver"
I noted this error code on the blue screen
000000x16 nvlddmkm.sys
Dumping physical memory etc. etc.

There are no Minidumps being formed in Windows/Minidump (I just enabled them now), so I wasn't able to post any of them :-|
All temperatures normal, RAM test with Windows Memory Diagnostic/memtest/DELL Diagnostics pass, no overclocking.
However, I perfomed the stability test with Furmark for my grpahics acrd and the display started flickering with dots. Earlier when I installed the driver and had the performed the stability, it had ran absolutely fine for more than 20 min.
I read somewhere it can be an issue of Windows Update KB24548... Read more

Hello. As the title may have suggested, I have been experiencing in these past weeks problems with the internet. Purely random, only I get disconnected from the internet, with reboot being the only 'temporary' solution. In the event logs I see errors that look like this one: Name resolution for the name Google timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.
My laptop is Acer Aspire E1-572G, windows 8.1, and in the first year since I bought the laptop, I didn't have any issues, this is something recent. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Once again, I'm wondering if this is a beta problem, or if it could be one of my drivers...

Basically from what i gather explorer.exe is essentially my interface (taskbar and desktop). Sometmes my taskbar freezes, and sometimes even desktop icons won't work. Now if I wait I get the W7 options thing that goes "windows explorer is not responding" and it works by me simply restarting it, but then it goes back and freezes again. I'm wondering if this is me, or a wider problem or what. If possible I would like to resolve it...

EDIT: I think it has to do w/ volume mixer too, since that freezes whenever I try to change the sound, and if I keep trying explorer.exe freezes =/

EDIT 2: Yeah... I think driver re-install for a few drivers fixed everything, but now I'm wondering what caused to drivers to get like this... Could it possibly be not-perfect compatibility w/ W7? Either way tomorrow I'm finally going to go and check for driver updates from the disks, I never should've let W7 find them automatically in the first place...

A:Explorer.exe stops responded

it looks like you were just unlucky due to your particular hardware combination - i believe most of us were ok with the default standard windows drivers.

it's always good practice to run windows update or check the manufacturer's website for new drivers straight after install - it's the first thing i do once i've got antivirus up and running - in fact it's even better to have the drivers stashed away on a separate partition or usb drive before you install, in case you need a network driver before you can go online!

driver support can only get better as we approach the release date...

I've been through Symantec and Malwarebytes, full scans for each, and I still have a huge problem.
Not only does iexplore.exe keep appearing in my tasks, but everytime I click on a link,
say if I google something and click on the first link, it takes me to tons of these popup sites,
and asks me to download programs. My virus scans aren't catching anything.
I posted on a site like this and was requested to use Combofix, and they aren't responding fast enough.

Yesterday my wife downloaded firefox and adobe flash player updates. Today her computer would not launch windows this morning. I suspect that the registry needs cleaning. Instead it produced a config system 32 error. It recommended that i use the xp cd to repair it. Therefore I followed the procedure outlined here:
When I got to step 5 it took md tmp no problem. But when I typed
copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\windows\tmp\system.bak
it responded with access is denied. I am the administrator on her computer accessed from the xp sign on screen but I have no password required. It will not start in the last known good configuration nor will it start in safe mode. In safe mode it produces a screen full of drivers and stops there. Unfortunately my xp installation disk is very old and if I reinstall it I have to manually uninstall all the ie updates and versions back to v6 I believe in order to reregister with ms. This is a lengthy process which I would like to avoid if at all possible. I don't know what to do now, please help.

A:It responded with access is denied

Due to no response being submitted I went ahead and repaired the registry with my windows disk, a downloaded viaagp1.sys file (from my computer) and her xp key. Now the computer will not connect to the internet. I attempted to ping the computer but the window closed immediately after launching from the command prompt with ipconfig. I then thought that the problem was as previously outlined by Jerry as this resolved a prior windows installation in which the computer would not sign on to the internet in order to register the key:

If her laptop had IE7 or IE8 installed, that can mess things up as a repair install will put some IE6 files back on the system. Activation uses the IE core files, so mixed versions here can prevent activation from working. It can also cause the Feeds error, as IE 6 doesn't have that feature

I'd give this a try, see if that will get it working:
Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
Check the Show Updates box
If you have IE8 installed, uninstall any IE8 updates, then uninstall IE8
Restart the PC, the repeat the above for IE7.

If Add/Remove programs doesn't list IE7 or IE8, but you know one of them was installed:
First, set the system to show Hidden and System files:
To change View Settings to show hidden/system files:
In Windows Explorer, click on Tools | Folder Options -> View tab
Check the following:
Display the contents of system folders (not present in Win2K/Vista)
Show hidden files and folders
Uncheck the following:

I just bought a new desktop and within the first hour I had an error message that said, "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver NVIDIA kernel mode driver version 186.75 stopped responding and has successfully restored". What the heck is this? Could this be related to Windows 7 and would anyone happen to have any suggestions? What happens is the screen goes black for about two seconds then appears with the above error message on the task bar. This happens very randomly, and maybe three to six times a day (had my computer for about two weeks). Also, two times now it has gone black and not come back! Just a little frustrated to say the least. Thank you anyone!

I am having 2 issues with my computer and because of that I am losing internet connection intermittently.
1) Problem 1 - I lose internet connections very frequently. My PC drops connection and connects back with in 1 min. When I checked system event I see the log as below.
-- Name resolution for the name timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.
here is just one server, but I do see logs for other server as well.

2)Problem 2 - Time to time I get IP conflict issues. I don't have fixed IP address.
The system detected an address conflict for IP address with the system having network hardware address 90-21-55-E8-29-C8. Network operations on this system may be disrupted as a result.

Initially I thought both problems was todo with my ISP provider, but I begin to think it could be issue with my computer as my ISP provider tried everything from their side such as changing modem, router..etc.

My computer is windows 7, intel core i7 [email protected], 8GB Ram.

Any help is really appreciated.

Initially all my searches all got redirected on Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Then my Mcafee software stopped working and updating. Any anti-virus, rootkit, malware software that I try to download gets disabled and will not run. Including HijackThis, Malwarebytes, Superspyblocker, Panda, etc etc. Windows update is also not functioning properly.

Then the virus disabled Internet Explorer, and will not let me re-load it. Currently using Firefox while it lasts.

DDS will not run.

Gmer will not run.

Have tried different download sites for both and tried to rename files. The system will not let me rename the files or if it does just disables them when they run anyway.

Downloaded Avira software which will actually scan my system sometimes and does identify a virus but gets disabled when it tries to deal with the virus.

It says that my cngaudit.dll file in windows/system32/ is actually TR/Pakes.npx and my system will not let me delete or rename the file.

I have removed my paid subscription mcafee software because it will not scan or update, just running with just the Avira evaluation software right now. I have tried to remove some of the disabled anti-virus programs but the system will not let me access all of them.

Someone please help, I've been trying to get rid of this for two weeks now, getting really frustrated.

Thank you.

Thank you. I posted all the logs except GMER, which crashed every time I ran it. Despite the fact that I closed all programs and left the PC alone to run, it hung for well over an hour on a 36KB file. I'd appreciate any advice. I was getting concerned because many more recent requests are in process.

Also, if no one responds within a certain time frame, does the request just disappear? Would I have to start from scratch? I keep bumping, not to be impatient, but because I'm afraid the request will expire. Thanks again, and happy New Year to all.

I have four POP accounts set up on Thunderbird on a laptop and I get the message, noted in the Subject window, when I try to send e-mail. I have set each of the SMTP settings to default in each of the accounts and get the same message. This morning I was able to send and receive e-mail from home; at my office this afternoon, I was able to receive, but not send messages. Using the same account settings in Outlook, my messages went out flawlessly. I would appreciate any help I can get with this problem.

A:Mail Server Responded: 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed

Is the SMTP server your ISP's for the home computer? They might only accept mail coming from their own connections, hence it not working in your office.

Hi, I need help with crashing due to kernel drivers. This problem started on Windows 8, and I upgraded to Windows 10, and is still crashing. I have done many things to attempt to fix this problem, such as using DDR to uninstall drivers, rolling back old drivers etc., and none of this has worked. I have gone into event manager and the one thing that seems to always occur is:"The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device ROOT\WPD\0000." at startup. While I am experienced with computers, I have no idea how to fix this. So if anybody knows how to fix this, can you please tell me? Also, if anyone needs pictures of the crashed scree, debug info, etc. I will gladly provide it. Thanks!

A:Kernel Drivers Crashing for all NVIDIA drivers with GTX 745

Out of curiosity, what driver version are you running?
Also, try going to Nvidia Control Panel -> 3D Settings -> Manage 3D settings -> Power Management Mode, set it to High Performance not Adaptive and see if that helps

I'm getting BSOD during normal use (whether it be web browsing or during a game). Memtest86 got 0 errors in 4 passes. CrystalDiskInfo and SSDlife both say that my drives are "healthy." CPU temps tend to hover between 40-60 degrees Celsius.

I've attached the dump files as the forum rules stated. Since this could be a drivers issue, I included a drivers list as well.

Here are some dump analysis from WhoCrashed.

Occasionally, the computer will freeze up and make the "dieing" clicking noise, with the hard drive working furiously. Usually, I preform a hard reset, but on two occasions, I let the computer run, and I recieved similar blue screens of death, with the hard drive access light solid.

The first:
...(usual info on what may have caused error, how to start safe mode, etc)
*** STOP: 0x0000007A(0xC03E11F0,0xC000000E,0xF847CC22,0x009A2860)

*** ftdisk.sys-Address F85F1642 base at F85E7000, DateStamp 3b7d8419
Beginning dump of physical memory.

On the next occasion, I was trying to replicate the error after a day of no trouble, and did so by entering standby mode, then starting the computer back up. Surprisingly, I got this after saving a file(which, btw, didn't save)

After the error messsage, the computer auto-restarts, and runs really slowly, requiring a shut-down, wait a minute, start-up

A:Where do we post the Hijackthis logs that haven't been responded to after about 5 days or so?

While we understand your frustration at having to wait, please note that Bleeping Computer deals with several hundred requests for assistance such as yours on a daily basis. As a result, our backlog is quite large, as are other comparable sites that help others with malware issues. Athough our HJT Team members work on hundreds of requests each day, they are all volunteers who work logs when they can and are able to do so. No one is paid by Bleeping Computer for their assistance to our members.Further, our malware removal staff is comprised of team members with various levels of skill and expertise to deal with thousands of malware variants, some more complex than others. Although we try to take DDS/HJT logs in order (starting with the oldest), it is often the skill level of the particular helper and sometimes the operating system that dictates which logs get selected first. Some infections are more complicated than others and require a higher skill level to remove. Without that skill level attempted removal could result in disastrous results. In other instances, the helper may not be familiar with the operating system that you are using, since they use another. In either case, you wouldn't want someone to assist you who is not familiar with your issue and attempt to fix it, would you? Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding.

Recently my old laptop has been playing up, I don't use it but my parents do. So, the laptop was infected with the Antivirus 2009 after surfing the web and I removed it using malwarebytes program. Then shortly after the laptop would show a blue screen, displaying "KERNEL STACK INPAGE ERROR" and then reboot.

After the reboot, my laptop seemed to run fine, I downloaded AVG antivirus software to check if there was a boot sector virus (?) and after running the laptop for about 30 minutes, it showed the blue screen again and reboots. This kept on occuring.

Then I tried to reformat the laptop. The first time I tried to format it as FAT32, it got to about 60% before rebooting. The second time I managed to get past the formatting (FAT32 [quick])and I got onto the part of installing windows. About 20 minutes into the installation. A stop error appeared "STOP C0000218 Unknown Hard Error". Could the hard disk be corrupt?

Any ideas on what I can do to savage the laptop?

I have the:
System Recovery CD (windows xp home edition)
System Software CD

Spec of Laptop
Brand: Samsung
System: Microsoft Windows XP Home
CPU: Intel 2.4GHz Pentium 4 Processor
Memory: 256MB 133MHz SDRAM

A:kernel stack in page error? and STOP error c0000218

This is generally a registry corruption issue. There is a technically complicated method of recovery, but if the drive is really bad you are just going to get it again.

Before replacing the drive, and since you have already done a clean install just prior --you might do another, but try removing and reseating the drive first.

Recently i have had this message that pops up every time i turn on my pc. The error message says," nt kernel error 1256......." It slows my computer down alot and causes many crashes of the computer and lots of other bad stuff. I can't even use my computer to its full extent. I'm using a sony vaio windows xp.
Its kinda old like 7 years old but i really don't have the cash as of now to get a new one. If some stuff is need to buy like programs or w/e i'm down with that but they gotta be purchasable from the store because i don't trust internet. Also, after this the screen says "no operating system found" When I try to install the system again it says no hard drive found.
I have replaced the hardrive once with another 20 gig from ebay of the same type and model number and now this one has done the same thing within 20 days.

I am not a computer mechanic and have limited knowledge of computers.
Can anyone help please?

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen then restart your computer. If this screen appears again then follow these steps.

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properlly installed. If this is a new installation ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need

If the problem continues disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as cacheing and shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer and press F8 and select Advance Startup options and then select safe mode.

Hey guys, so, im getting the ye ol' Kernel 43; long story short, i was getting constant BSOD because of bad timings on my rams, i fixed that by enabling DOCP on my motherboard and while it "overclocked" my ram, it did a mini auto overclock on my CPU, a 4 year old Phenom II BE 960T, while it was running slightly hotter, it wasnt anything critical, well the BSOD stopped...till i started getting this kernel; back then it was 2 weeks apart from each error sometimes even a week, i thought i fixed that, by removing the CPU overclock and manually setting my rams. But last night, i got a new kernel, 1 month and 7 days later.

I dont really know what else to do, is the CPU dieing? is it getting fried? the PSU is brand new and its a EVGA 600B Certified. I guess, here is the log

Merely an intuitive accessment, but the fact that the problem occurs during games, and with the color changes, makes me wonder how you installed the video card and driver. Boot into Safe Mode, open the Device Manager and uninstall the display adapter. Select Show Hidden Devices...just in case there is a ghost of the previous video card (if there is, delete it), run Driver Sweeper to remove any remanents of the driver itself. Do not touch anything that says VGA, reboot to Safe Mode and reinstall the driver.

Please change the system language to english, this helps me understanding the files as I can't understand french.

Diagnostic Test

Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
Please create a restore point.
Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

Hey all,

I have a gateway GT5662 (, running Windows 7 (upgraded from vista). While I was running vista, and even now, I keep getting Kernel Power errors. They're all the same: Source is Kernel-Power, Event ID is 41, Task category is (63). The computer sometimes reboots spontaneously, sometimes gives me wavy lines and then a BSOD, sometimes shuts down and refuses to start until I turn off the power and wait for a while. It seems to occur randomly, with neither rhyme nor reason. I did by a Back-UPS CS, thinking that it was brownouting. That helped for a little bit, but it's started doing it again--12 times in the last week. I have hit the forums, and the tips seem to be all over the board--some people say it's the audio drivers, others say it's a graphics issues, still others say it's a power guy even said his case was shorting things out! Any help will be much appreciated, and if you need any more information, please don't hesitate to ask.

I have a rather perplexing issue with a PC.

For the last week we were unable to get past the boot screen. I could run the PC in safe mode and was able to backup the files. I then restored the system back to 11/1/06 and did a repair on the windows install

Since then we have had the PC BSOD twice.

0x00000077 (0xc000000E,0xc000000E,0x00000000,0x01A23000)

After this it failed to recognize the hard drives at all
We removed a stick of RAM and it worked again

0x00000077 (0xc0000185,0xc0000185,0x00000000,0x008B4000)

I'm sure that this isn't enough to solve the problem but if you could tell me what information is needed i'll do my best to get it to you.

Thank you for your help.

I have recently purchased a custom built gaming computer from some friends. It's great and all, but every week or two it blue screens and comes up with this Kernel-Power ID 41 error in the event viewer every time. Lately it has been doing this more and more and sometimes I lose unsaved data. It's pretty irritating. Please help, and thanks in advance if you do.

I got this error last night sometime in the wee hours. I usually leave my PC on most of the time since I use it for work and have sensitive files that need backed up nightly. I always set my Windows PC's to not reboot after BSOD's from experience so I can better analyze. When I woke this morning the PC was at a BSOD.

A Little background on my system:

Windows 7 Ultimate
AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz
OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 running at 800mhz
Western Digital Caviar RE WD2500YD 250GB 7200 RPM SATA
MSI K9A2 Neo-F AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
HIS Hightech H467QT512P Radeon HD 4670
Sony Optiarc 24X DVD/CD Rewritable Drive Black SATA

I also have two USB external Drives. One is a Western Digital 320GB and the other is a Hammer MoreSpace 1TB. My backups go to the Hammer MoreSpace drive nightly. I use Genie Backup Manager Pro for all my backups. One of the backups is from my C drive to the Hammer Drive at about 1am. The other backup that runs later is from the WD320GB to the Hammer Drive.

I could not locate the minidump file in Windows. I was under the impression it was C:Windows/minidump, however there is no such directory in my system, C: is my boot drive.

Here is the only error I can see that occurred multiple times at around the time I would guess the system crashed.

My Windows 7 . . .
- x86
- Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

- What is the age of system (hardware)?
nearly 3 years old
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)
around 6 months old

I have also attached the required health scan files to be evaluated.
Before this thread, i'd posted that...;

My laptop always crashes, totally randomly, and I highly doubt its due to me doing any heavy multitask. It does it usually when I use Bittorrent and iTunes together.

I thought it could be a problem with the RAM as I only have 1GB with Windows 7, so I upgraded to 2GB, although it runs much smoother now, it still crashes.

I've checked the Windows Event Viewer, and it crashes due to Event 41, Kernel-Power; (The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.)

Right before this happens, I get 2 other errors, Event ID 6008 Source; EventLog (The previous system shutdown at 4:56:25 PM on ‎10/‎14/‎2010 was unexpected.)

....and Event ID 4 Source;spdt (Driver detected an internal error in its data structures for .)

These 2 errors NEARLY ALWAYS come up before it crashes with the Kernel-Power error. Although sometimes its only Event ID 4.

I've tried updating the wireless adapter driver with no luck.

Any suggestions pleaseeeeeee?

A:Getting Kernel Power error ID 41

I just cleaned the filters of my ventilators. Now cooling works way better and I don't have crashes like you have anymore. After half a year of daily work everything was closed with dust.
If dust is not the reason it may be your cooling is not efficient enough after buying a new graphics adapter for instance. Also check if your power adapter has enough capacity.
Hope I could help.

Hey everyone,

This is my first time posting here, but I have lurked around and read all the threads I could find in regards to this error. I know it's a general error, but I plan to provide as much information as I can.

For the past 4 months, my desktop has been shutting down during games. It doesn't matter what the settings are on, but it simply shuts off and reboots without any warning.

This happens approximately 45 to 80 minutes into a session.

I have recently replaced/tested:

Replaced Motherboard
Replaced PSU (3 times)
Replaced Graphics card
Reinstalled OS twice
Cleaned the entire case
Re-applied thermal goo on processor
Checked the fans, and made sure they worked
Opened my case and placed a fan on the side to create circulation
Replaced ram
Ran memtest on new ram, no errors

I have no clue what steps I should take next, and I can only assume thus far that I either have another faulty PSU or my processor is starting to go.

I have attached my system information as well as my system tempuratures/volts.

Please let me know if there's anything else that would be helpful.

Hey everyone,

I have a problem. This has been happening for generally a long time since I got my PC over a year ago. Generally, what usually happens is when I leave my computer on for a long time, these things tend to happen

1) Computer gives BSOD with no specific error
2) Screen goes blue and I touch mouse and everything is back to normal
3) Screen goes blue and I touch my mouse but certain files are missing and freezing. Ex. When I click Chrome it would say file does not exist or file is no longer available. Try to click but nothing happens.

After these things would happen, I would usually just restart and it would be fine. These events have happened alot but I generally ignored them and just kept on restarting my computer when it happened.

More recently, I turned on my computer, logged in, and after a couple of minutes it would randomly freeze my screen and then after a while a BSOD would show up saying "Kernel Error" Or something along those lines. This kept on happening for a while now and I didn't think I would be able to get back on my computer. I just restarted it now and it worked, as of now II'm typing this hoping it doesn't happen again.
