Change date and time stamp on file save...

Q: Change date and time stamp on file save...

When I create a file in Windows 7 and save it I get the current date and time stamp but when I edit the program at a later time and date and save again it doesn't change the date and time stamp it stays the same as the original file! I feel like a moron but how can I change this?

A: Change date and time stamp on file save...

Hi Dave,

Presuming you have made changes to the file that require saving, the date and time should indeed change. See the image below : do you have the Date Modified, or Date Created option showing?

Anybody else noticed that after the summer-time change, Win XP has changed the TIME STAMP on all files. I think this only happens on NTFS partitions, but the effect is that all backups held on non-NTFS partitions now appear to be an hour old. This is just STUPID, and can anybody tell me if this is intended, and if so what conceivable reason can there be?

better yet, can we do anything?

I apologize for posting to the "general" forum here - even though my issue concerns gmail, it may have something to do with file handling in Windows 7, so I'm shooting for the broader audience in this forum.

How do I save an attached file from my gmail account, such that the date and time stamp, once saved to my local computer, remains the same as that of the original file?

That's how I just always assumed it was being done, and yet with gmail, the files are saved to my local computer with their save date/time, not the date/time of the actual file.

This is just wrong! If I send a file to 15 people, I want each recipient to have a saved file with the same date/time - not 15 different times based on when they saved them.

What am I missing, to force gmail/Windows to preserve the original file date and time stamp?

BTW, I posted this question to a gmail user forum, and the only answer I got so far is unhelpful, and likely wrong, gobbledygook.

A:Saving gmail file attachments without changing their date/time stamp?

Hi,
I doubt that can happen
At best there might be a universal Date Created or Date Taken on all of the files.
The camera it's self would enter that info "if" the time and date were correctly set on the device.

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

I open Event Viewer - "Admin View" to see what Errors/Warnings are there and in the column - Date and Time only the date is showing. Same goes for all the other views.
The "Time" element seems to have completely disappeared.

Any idea where its gone........... and more importantly, how to get it back?

Thanks

A:Time stamp missing from Date and Time column - Event Viewer

Problem solved - but - I don't know why.

Solution:- I changed the Date/Time format from UK to US, opened Event Viewer and it was as it should be. Date & Time showing.
I then changed format back to UK, opened Event Viewer and , as above, the Time was back up.

If anybody knows what had happened I would be most interested.

My thanks to Bill............. from another site for helping me out with this one.

When I take a picture with my Android phone, the date and time when the picture was taken is recorded, in the filename as well as in the JPG picture-file itself; all very convenient. To my horror I noticed that my phone reacts in an idiotic way to the GSM connection being lost: the date of the picture is 'reset' to, apparently, the date the device was manufactured. Subsequent pictures apparently start counting from there. This completely messes up the chronology of my pictures: all pics taken with no GSM connection end up with date/times on the same day, years ago.
I completely fail to understand why this is so and would like to know if this behaviour is particular to my device or if others experienced the same thing. Is it a bug or a feature?
I experimented with various methods to set the time: manual, from GSM-network or from GPS. I would have thought that using manual or GPS would remedy things, but it didn't. (Although it had some effect on Daylight Saving Time issues, but that's another story.)

A:date and time stamp for a search

I am not sure about a search time stamp... but if you check the history of the browser, you'll prolly find the websites they visited.

While ur browser window is active... prest Ctrl + H
Then sites that have been visited will show up at the left side of the browser (this all depends on your browser settings)

hope that helps!

I have this problem. When I save an email with the option "save as" from windows mail IT will print the current date without maintaining the mail by default, but if you drag the email with the mouse and loose it in a folder now. I'm trying to fix this with this, but, did not work:
1) the .eml files change to the present date when they are indexed by the search indexer; this is, a few seconds after creation. Thus, backup/restore/sync will not work properly, but indexing.
2) if you delete that mentioned registry key, then the indexing of .eml files no longer works, i.e. you cannot find them in a full-text search. However, backup works now.
3) it is unknown whether the other solution, proposed by alecamiga, to link .eml to thunderbird and write lock the files, does the same or works better.

Hi there,

Thank you in advance for checking out my query.

I rarely have the opportunity to use VBA so I apologise for my ignorance in advance

In the attached file I am trying to setup a few things ... tried several different codes from other sources, but weren't successful ... so I deleted the codes to avoid confusion (I am already massively confused.. I have been at this for the last 6 days and nights ... and I'm getting stressed out!).

Since there are a few things that I would like my form to do, I realise that if anyone is going to help me out, I will need to just ask for the most urgent items that are essential and have to wait with the other fixes.

There are 4 main fixes that I'd be immensely grateful for are;
The User enters a 4 digit code into a textbox named txt_SAC_No when that has been entered I need the textbox txt_SAC_Address to perform a Vlookup a named range (SiteNameADDRESS) and display the data in the textbox.
The reason for the result to be displayed in the textbox is because some codes are not listed and users will need to enter in the information manually.
I do not want the information that the user manually enters to be added to the named range.
If it is possible to have the next available Security Incident # (which is setup in Column A on the Incident Details spread sheet) when the user opens this form
Setup a Date and separate Time stamp to activate after the user has entered their name into the lbl_INC_Recorded_By textbox -... Read more

A:How to do a Vlookup in Userform, Date & Time Stamp

OK... it was all about size

I have taken all the unnecessary stuff out of the file ... so there is only the bare minimum in there... which should not affect the form or fields etc.

Small win for me today

Please let me know if you need any further clarification or information
Thank you again

Does Outlook record a time / date stamp for WHEN an email was marked as read / unread, and is it possible to filter by this so we can effectively select & set all emails not Read before a certain date back to UNREAD.

I never seem to know where to place the IFs. I yoinked the 2nd part of this code from somewhere, then added it to my existing code. It doesn't work, of course.

Code:
Option Explicit

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
'When workbook is open, if the date is blank, enter it
If Range("qadate").Value = "" Then Range("qadate").Value = Date + Time

'If the workbook is the "template", do nothing
If ActiveWorkbook.Name = "QA-Hosp" Then

Exit Sub

'If the workbook is NOT the template anymore, username & time/date stamp it

' Stores who and when on Record Sheet, column A
Sheets("Record").Select

If Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row = 1 And Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Value = "" Then
Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Value = Environ("Username") & " " & Now
Exit Sub
End If

Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).Value = Environ("Username") & " " & Now
End If
End Sub

I very much appreciate any help!

A:Solved: Workbook_Open Username & Time/Date Stamp

Looks like you need to move the End If to the line after the Exit Sub. Otherwise it is effectively exiting before running any further code in any case.

I would also consider changing your code so you are not selecting the Records sheet:
Sheets("Record").select
I would declare Records sheet as a variable instead:
Dim Record as worksheet
set Record = sheets("Record")
You can then change these references:
Range("A65536")

for
Record.[a65636]

Ok, here is what I have.

An Access Database that will allow for "Trouble Tickets" to be issued.

The way I have it set up now is a Status. This tells if the Ticket is Open or Resolved.

What I also have is a "Closed Date" Field, what I am trying to do is set it up so that if the Status is changed to Resolved, it will put the "=NOW()" in the Closed Date field.

Any suggestions. Everything seems to work fine, with the exception of this.

Hello,

I have a new computer with Windows 7 on it - and I want to copy the files from my old computer to my new one. I'm looking at copying about 300 GB worth of data.

When I copy all files and insert them onto my new desktop, I notice that all of the date/time stamps are changed to today's date.

Is there a way to preserve the date/time stamp for each file, so that it keeps the original one?

Thanks!

A:Preserving date and time stamp on all files copied?

If you right click the folder, then select properties It should show:

Created: (This will be the date you copied it over)

Modified ( aslong as it hasn't been modified on the new machine, IT should read the date it WAS last modified?

Accessed: It should show when the folder was last accessed (opened)

In regards to "perserving the date/Time Stamp. I'm not sure this is possible.
You can always try checking the Modified Time/date ( mentioned above ) then add the date to the file/folder name. SO you always have a refferance.

I have a program that runs on a XP platform on several computers.
There is one computer that has a weird problem.

The program shows the time and date of the computer, which is the actual time and date.
The program can create bitmap images and text images.
When I click on the export button, the program will save the BMP and TXT files to the Harddrive with a total different date/time stamp.
The program wil export the BMP and TXT files with not only a filename, but also a date/time stamp (the correct one).
It will be exactly one hour and one day earlier.

This is not correct, because the computer has the current date and time, but Windows labels the files with a wrong date/time stamp.

If I open Windows Explorer, I can see the files listed as:

filename200908201250.BMP Bitmap Image 12KB No 302KB 97% 8/19/2009 11:50 PM

It will not impact the problem if I change the BIOS and Windows time.

Did anyone have this effect ever before and can it be a virus ?
The problem is, once in a while, I will loose BMPs and I cannot find them anymore.

A:Time/Date Stamp in XP shows 1 day and 1 hour difference

The problem is not the time difference itself.
The big question is, how is it possible that the program takes the time from Windows, displays it correctly in the program, saves the files with the correct time and date, but shows in Windows Epxlorer to be created on a total different moment ?
The exact same program is installed on many more computers and they don't have this problem.
I have replaced the program, Windows, HDD and the computer motherboard without success.
Could it be a virus causing this ?

Hello!

I joined this forum for just this one problem...

My line of work requires that I take before and after photos of everything I do or photos to support the bidding of work to be done. The resolution is required to be 640x480 and the compression set to normal. Most of the time I am taking 100+ photos per job site. Sometimes completing 3-4 job sites per day. Past cameras I have used (Nikon CoolPix) allow the Date/Time Stamp to be a part of the image which is also required by my line of work.

I have been frustratingly searching for the instructions on how to get the Date/Time Stamp to be a part of the image when it is taken for the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000.

I understand that this information is recorded with the image and that I could use a program of some sort to add the Date/Time Stamp myself but due to the volume of images a software solution would no be viable.

Is there anyone that has used or can help find the instructions for enabling a Date/Time Stamp for this particular camera?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank You.

Since version 7 Internet Explorer changes the "modified" time stamp of a *.url (favorites / bookmark) file when used. It changes it to the current date, so that you can see when you last used the link.

I want to disable this function because it interferes with my file synchronisation program. My synchronisation program sees it as if the url was changed, which is awkward as it isn't changed, only the modified attribute is updated.

Can this be done?

Hey, this is my first post and since I'm at the end of my rope with this problem I'm looking for any help with this.I am a student that attends a school that incorporates a shared network drive that all students can access. Naturally, much pirated software, music and other media are shared over this, thus making it a breeding ground for malware. Apparently, someone uploaded a copy of Adobe CS3 and the keygen.exe contained a virus/worm/whatever that infects anything that connects to the drive. So, many students who didn't even download the files, much less even opened a folder contracted the virus on their external drives and thus, infected their home computers, as is the case with me.Long story short, as soon as I hooked up my infected drive to my computer, Norton alerted me that a virus had been detected and that an attempt to delete it had failed. I've scanned my system several times sense, and came up with nothing. The file that Norton referred me to I deleted manually and still, I'm left with a peculiar problem: my system clock is now set to today's date in 2005 and it won't let me change it to 2008. What's even weirder is that it allows me to set the clock to an earlier year, just not any year later than 2005. So far, this is the major issue associated with this virus.I've attached my hijackthis file so hopefully somebody can help me out. A:Virus Won't Let Me Change My System Date To Later Than 2005 (i Pasted My Hijackthis File On The Page This Time)

Well, it looks like I solved the problem. Hopefully, this will help out anybody that's gone through the same ordeal.

After virus scan upon virus scan, I was about to give up and wipe my system clean when I decided to look over my HijackThis file once again. I noticed the line:

O23 - Service: 74747C66 - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\3FD790B2.EXE

This line struck me as odd, since it declared the owner as unknown and the .EXE file as a series of characters. I decided to do a little digging and came to find out that the .EXE file had been implemented at around the same time my computer started acting screwy. Not only that, but author was also listed as unknown so my suspicions were proven correct. This was the culprit and it was one tough S.O.B.

Upon further investigating, I also found out that the malware had established itself as a system service (as well as another malware with similar character appearances), meaning that it was executed every time the system started up. In order to delete these guys, I had to boot the computer in Safe Mode and search the registry. Once I found them, they were deleted. Just for grins and giggles, I searched every main folder in the registry several times, each returning results, meaning that the malware had replicated itself into several different folders. Each one was zapped and once I was done, I rebooted the computer in Normal Mode and you know what? System's clean and running like a top. (And it even displays th... Read more

I've tried to send a delayed email using the "Do Not Deliver Before" function. Hoping the email would be date/time stamped when I wanted the recipient to receive the email. For example, sent the email on a Tuesday and scheduled the email to be delivered the next day (Wednesday) at 10am. The function did delay sending the email, but the date/time stamp was when I originally hit sent on Tuesday. What is the purpose of this feature if the date/time stamp will not indicate the date/time I wanted the recipient to receive the email?

When using this function, is there a way for the exchange to track the date/time stamp of the email when it actually leaves the Outbox instead of when you click send? I understand the exchange keeps track of the date/time stamp of when an email is sent, but why couldn't the exchange keep track of when the email leaves the outbox when using this function? Is there any exchange setup that will make this function work the way it is supposed to? Thank you

Hello

I'm seeing a very strange problem on Windows XP. If I have a file which was created at 11:00:00am, and then delete it at 11:10:02am, and recreate it at 11:10:10am, the new file gets the OLD file's creation time (11:00:00am).

However, if I wait until 11:11:02am, it will get the correct file creation time stamp (11:11:02am). Its as though I have to wait for the one minute boundary to rollover before the new creation time gets picked up.

(By recreate, I mean the file has the same name).

Anybody know why this is happen? I assume some kind of caching....

Any info would be helpful! Thanks!

(At least the Recycle Bin can be removed without a registry edit hack. These have always been my top 2 peeves of Windows.)

How please.

From the desktop view I simply want to look down and to the right to see the ?Sunday, September 8, 2013 ? 2:17PM? I see now ... but have to move my mouse over there and hover over it first. Why would I want to have to do that?

It wasn't possible in XP (that I know of) ? not without having to expand your taskbar to twice the width. (And let's face it, there is nothing quite as intimidating as a big huge fat thick taskbar.)

I had to replace the motherboard on this laptop and it all worked fine with Windows 7 home prem. The only issue was not saving the date and time on cold boot. When I put it in sleep it does fine on wakeup. I tore it down again since the cmos battery is very inaccessable. The battery checked fine(3.2v) The only error I get on boot is: "RTC is fixed- time and date may be wrong"
What am I missing? Thanks

You might just need to replace the CMOS battery to fix that problem.

Please help!

I cannot change the date or time on my computer. Everytime I try it says that I have to be an administrator to do it, even though I am the administrator, in fact I am the only user on the system!

I have tried going into the user accounts but it won't let me click on manage another account type, change account type, or even change account name.

Any help would be much appreciated.

As a side issue which might also be related, I cannot install windows updates and it won't let me click on 'ok' when I try to change the setting to allow all users to install updates.

Thanks for looking and please help if you can!

A:Can't change date or time!!

Okay, don't panic.

Are you logged into the Vista hidden Admin account, or the first account you created ?

In XP the first account is an admin account; however, in Vista the first account you create claism to be an admin account.

But it isn't. Its a user account with user access.

So, look in the tutorials in these forums for the Hidden Admin account.

Create it, then change the clock.

Note that only the hidden admin can chage account types or names.

I've been having this problem for about a month and a half. Every time i reboot my machine, the date and time get change. At first the month would get changed to january , and the time would change exactly 1 hour back of the real time. The day and year were fine. That was in october. Now that its november and the daylight saving took place. The time is fine, but the month still gets rolled back but February. It seems to go back 9 months from the current month for some reason.

I've ran Registry Mechanic, fixed all the probs that it found, but it didn't help this prob.
I've ran Anti virus' programs - nothing
I've ran Spyware removers - nothing

So I'm kinda out of ideas now and any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance,

This is usually a problem caused by a dead battery on the motherboard. They are inexpensive and easy to change. You can see the procedure on this site. Don't worry about writing down the CMOS settings, it not required IMHO.

Hello,

So I noticed this morning that the date and time has somehow been changed to March 31st 2006 @ 3am (currently). When I try and change it I am alerted that I do not have the right privileges. Both accounts on this computer are administrators. I also cannot access it from the control panel.

If I try to access Local Security Policy under admin tools I am alerted that there is a "group policy error" and I do not have permission. never used group policy and do not know what it is.

I also do not have privileges to run a system restore.

Finally, certain websites, such as gmail, are giving me an error that The server's security certificate is not yet valid!

All of these privileges are things that I was able to do yesterday.

Thanks for the help!

Hello,

For the past two weeks, my computer has been changing the date or time by itself. The date and time can be different the next time I would turn the computer on, or the date/time would change while the computer was on. I have not noticed the date/time changing when I start up something (like the internet), it just happens out of nowhere.

I know this may not help much, but the date/time doesn't change drastically. For example, on this past Sunday at about 10am, the computer time read that it was Sunday December 16th, 4 am. Whenever this would happen, I would just readjust the date/time on the Date & Time tab in the Date and Time Properties (I did not think to look at Time Zones and Internet Time then).

Another problem I have is that while shutting down my computer, sometimes my computer restarts instead. Sometimes, I see a blue screen when this happens. I cannot read the blue screen message as the screen disappears very quickly. I tried looking for the blue screen message in the event viewer, but it is not there.

I do not know if these two problems are related to one another.

I read that the random time/date changes can be caused by a dying motherboard battery. I asked some members of my family to check this, and they said that the battery is fine so the problem must be a virus. If anyone could guide me to check this again if needed, I would greatly appreciate it.
I fixed the time by going to the date and time properties. I found out that my time zone was... Read more

A:Satellite Pro 6100 - How to change date/time in BIOS

Hello

I doubt that time and date setting in BIOS does affect the Windows activation? Even the Windows time doesn?t affect this in my opinion. There must be another reason for this problem.
Can you activate Windows via phone?

Normally the date/time in BIOS can you change if you mark the date or time then press ?+? or ?-? key to change this. Sometimes you have to press PageDown/Up depending on the BIOS or notebook model.
Usually in BIOS setup you can find a short info how to change the values.

Hi, basically the issue is that because I've had this laptop for such a long time, originally my dad set up the admin password to my old laptop but has now forgotten it, and has no idea what it is. I've tried so many combinations, but we can't remember it.

This shouldn't be too big of an issue, however my laptop had a habit of resetting the date and time every so often. It now believes that the date is 11th November 2010, and because of this I cannot access the Internet at all. All websites are listed as unsafe, and I can't use any games that require internet connection.

When I try to change the date and time, it needs an admin password. I have tried running cmd.exe and changing the date and time that way, nothing. I've tried starting with command prompt and using the net user commands, but all access is denied.

There are two accounts, one which is mine which is a normal user, and the other is called Admin and belongs to my dad. That's the one we don't know the password for.

My system is windows 7, and the laptop is Asus.

Is there any way to get around this? Can I somehow bypass the admin password with some software that is safe? I've tried downloading this iSunshare software onto a hard drive, and opening the program on the old laptop but it requires an admin password to run.

Thanks!

A:How can I bypass it asking for an admin password when I change the date and time?

There is no way to bypass the admin prompt when performing action above what your user account has rights to.

Per the forum rules we cannot assist in circumventing or bypassing a system password.

2nd day, when I turn on the computer, it show me today is "March 13, 2014. 3PM"
Time and Date is wrong. I manually change correct time.
3rd day, the computer change its time and day again, fix it manually.
Basically I do 2nd and 3rd repeatly.

I researched about this problem: I might need change the battery.

However, I really want to know what is the most important thing to do before I replace the battery. Do I need back up all my saved data in computer ?
Also, what if I do not replace the battery ? I mean what is the worst situation.

Your bios setting will get reset, when you change the cmos batterry.

Take note of the setting, before changing the battery.

Your data on the harddrive will not be affected, by a battery change.

For example, last Sunday at about 10am, the computer time read that it was Sunday December 16th, 4 am.

I was told to repost my question here after asking if this problem was caused by a virus. (original topic: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic478155.html) The moderator helping me... Now that this theory has been discounted...please replace your CMOS battery, then go into the BIOS and reset the date/time data to an accurate reflection.

Date/time changes...hardware configuration errors...those are common symptoms indicating that the CMOS battery needs replacing.

Hi,

A family member took many great pictures while on vacation but used the date stamp mode. I noticed in XP the date stamp does not appear on the icon when set to thumbnail view. However, it does appear in Windows 2000 thumbnails. Somehow the JPG holds more than one layer of info, but I've been unable to find them with Paint Shop Pro 7. The camera is a Sony Mavica CD-2000 and the picture format is jpg. I checked the archives and looked on the Net for information but have come up empty handed. Is there a photography expert that knows how to divide the layers, if that's the case?

Thanks,

Today 1/19/05 I am getting e-mails stamped 1/1/05 about three weeks after they were sent. I looked at the basic, Delay e-mail but it is happening from more then one person. I also thought about the whole time zone thing but I checked the time zone on the computer and it is set up right. And the funny thing is that it is not happening to all e-mails just the impartment ones.

I was viewing a recently closed thread and was interested in a similar task.

I would like to test the ability for my program to not be manipulated by any sort of time scripts created but first need assistance in creating a simple script that would set the system time to a STATIC time or maybe -5 minutes (or even a loop that sets the time). I have the script that syncs the system time to a time server but wanted to see if anyone would provide a sample script that may possibly still be able to change the time in this app.

Here's a good example.

User1 logs in, clicks a button which timestamps and saves this time to our database. This timestamp is in reference to a phone call and we want to be exact or very close to recording the time of the call.

What I DON'T want is for someone to run a script that resets the time or manipulates it, that's what I'm looking to test. Though if I can prove it can be reset we will rewrite this module. Please help me with any sample scripts I could run, maybe a .bat loop file that repeatedly resets the time, etc. I'd REALLY appreciate all examples and thank you in advance

Hello. Here is my issue short and sweet.

When I use ANY of the web based emails (Yahoo, Gmail, Comcast) on computer A, all of my emails are stamped an hour earlier than real time. By real time, I mean the clock on the computer AND the analog tick-tock clock on my kitchen wall. Both display the correct time accurately.

When I use ANY of the web based emails (Yahoo, Gmail, Comcast) on computer B (or C or D), all of my emails are stamped with real/correct time that matches my kitchen and computer. These computers ALSO reflect correct time.

With either computer, any file created or saved has a date and time stamp that is correct and reflects real time. Whether saved with a web app, a windows app or a cmd line app.

On all computers my time zone is set correctly. The "adjust for DST" box is checked. I also ran TZEDIT to confirm that my DST dates are correct.

One revelation (and I believe herein lies the key). If I look on computer A at the bottom of the "Date and Time Properties box: the current time zone says : Eastern *STANDARD* time. If I look at computers B, C or D. The "Date and Time Properties box says: current time zone: Eastern *DAYLIGHT* time. I can not find any way to change the "STANDARD" to "DAYLIGHT".

I have spoke to someone who is dependent on sending customers' emails. It is vital that the email dates are correct. I think the problem started when the clocks went ahead.I have instructed them to do all updates for outlook 2003. I verified that the problem is not related to their email host. The date stramps are correct when they send out email usijng webmail. Her computer is free of viruses and spyware and is maintained very well. She did a detect and repair as well. She has Mcafee as her antivirus scanner and no firewalls that I know of.I spoke to her email server and they have not any such issues regarding their server.Maybe someone out there has dealt with thiis before. My hunch is that maybe by upgrading to outlook 2007, this problem would get resolved. She doesn't want to use outlook express, which has it's own problems and is not supported any more.I am clueless to what would be the next step.

Canon 2SIS

I've figured out how to set the date on the camera and can put a Date Stamp on images after I download them to a computer. I have to run the camera software to do that and then the file is changed from JPG to an album. Don't want to do that.

Does anyone have idea how to set the camera to put the Date Stamp on the image taken with the camera?

Today I was advised by a friend that my date stamp on my email came in a couple hours ahead of what time it actually was. I noticed the same thing on my incoming mail. The thought was my clock was off, but it was fine. When I open the mail the date stamp is correct. I believe I took in an update from Microsoft yesterday that addresses the fact that Daylight Savings Time is coming three weeks earlier this year than XP is expecting. I there any word out there of this being a flaw in the download?

Here is a weird one.

I have Photoshop CS 5 running in win 7.

When I save jpgs to a particular folder itn saves the wrong date stamp in 2013 with exact same time and date.
If i save outside this folder it saves out with correct time stamp.

Folder is shared on both Dropbox and GoogleDrive as is the location i saved  a test jpg which gives correct time stamp.

Any ideas? Its odd as it only this folder and only jpgs ...

I opened the file info and it seems to be reading the 'date taken' not the 'date created' info .

I created an image from scratch and saved it out as a jpg- looks like PS is picking up a photo texture on one of the layers data as its date taken. must be still in the data part of the image.

I have a system file missing and I can't change my time and date. I'm stuck on May01.2002 and therefore the virus scanner won't update anymore. I cannot change anything anymore, I get an eror message saying: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. The computer is noticably slower and SuperAntiSpyware found a Trojan.Bronto. AVG found Html Framer with the May01.2002 date and I'm sure there is more, since I cannot update the virus scanner.

So I'm pulling in a date in the format (MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS AM/PM) Is there a way that when I use a make table query, it only returns the Hour in the format of a number in the field instead of the date stamp?

So:

submit_date
8/20/2008 10:59:27 AM
8/20/2008 11:00:10 AM
8/20/2008 11:01:27 AM

Would be in the new table as

10
11
11
Is this possible?

10 - 20% of incoming emails get a WRONG Received date stamp in the navigation pane. On 15 Dec 2012 some emails got '25/01/2000', on 16 Dec 2012 some were stamped 26/01/2000 and a few hours later in the day '27/01/2000'. The emails originate from different senders including one from management software in this computer. That software sent me 5 emails at much the same time, four of which were stamped correctly but one '27/01/2000'.

Most emails are date/time stamped correctly but those stamped wrongly end up right at the bottom of the chronological list in the Navigation pane because of the old date. They are easily unnoticed.

The 'sent' date/time stamp in the email header always seems correct.

Hello,

I'm trying to batch change the time and date of a bunch of folder (and files within each folder) residing on a portable USB harddrive.
I have tried several software to do this, they all worked ok for the files, but even though they all claim to be able to change the time/date of folders, they all fail. The folders are not being used by any other programs and they are not write protected.
What could I be doing wrong?

I have a spreadsheet that is used by a number of users and has a macro built into it to collect updates from several other sheets. I want to add to the macro so that once it has been updated and saved the macro then saves another version of the sheet in a seperate folder with the date and time it was saved as part of the file name.

I have tried

ChDir"H:\Resourcing Teams\Placements\Weekly activity\Archive"
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:= _
"H:\ResourcingTeams\Placements\Weekly activity\Archive\" & Now.Day & Now.Month &Now.Year &" .xlsx", _
FileFormat:=xlOpenXMLWorkbook, CreateBackup:=False

But get errors

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

My wife's cousin has a Sony FD 73 camera. I don;t know how old it is but it uses a 3.5" floppy disk to record the pictures.
The instruction book I downloaded says the recommended OS is Windows 3.1 Windows 95 or later, so it is sort of an antique I suppose.
He needs to have the date embedded in the pictures I can't find a setting for this in the manual. Is there a way to change settings so he can do this?
Thanks.

Somehow some time back I set Word 2010 to show a date on every saved page that I have. The date shows up on the bottom of the page on the left side. It also shows on a saved document for an envelope that I made. I want to delete that particular date stamp but when I open the envelope, I cannot figure out how to delete it on this item.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Install Free Commander, which is a terrific 1/2-pane Windows Explorer substitute.

Then, you can select one or more files and then File-> Attributes/timestamp and you can change anything you want in the directory information for the file(s).

A month or two ago I started noticing that when I try to save files to HDD from Opera it takes about 4 seconds for the (explorer) file menu to appear and let me save it.

Now I noticed the same in Subtitle Workshop and Irfanview, only that in these it takes even longer, like 7 seconds, for the load file menu to appear after I click on the "open file" icon.

Some other programs, like VLC and Winamp, don't have this problem.

Any clues?

Using Win 7 64bit, BTW. Everything updated.
