Q: Windows Encountered Problem Installing Bluetooth Audio Driver

Hi ,

I have Dell Inspiron 3521 , i5, and I am having tremendous amount of trouble with Bluetooth audio.
I downloaded original drivers from dell website but facing same trouble. I found a lot of solution from Google but all are useless for me.
I have windows 7 64bit service pack 1
I am using this window with administrator user
Do others have the same issue? Any work being done on this?

A: Windows Encountered Problem Installing Bluetooth Audio Driver

Did this work at one time and now does not and the reason for installing the driver? Or has this never worked? It does make a difference.

Hi all. I have a HP ProBook 4320s which I've recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 Update 1 and am now having a problem trying to install any drivers. As a bit of background, I had Windows 7 Ultimate installed originally, upgraded to Windows 8 Pro last year, and have just upgraded to 8.1 U1.

Initially, I plugged in an iPhone to use iTunes and the iPhone was showing with a yellow exclamation mark and when I tried to install the driver, I got the message:

"Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it"

I thought it was an Apple specific issue and tried all the usual troubleshooting techniques. Finally, I uninstalled all the USB composite devices and then restarted. They seemed to appear back okay, but now I have two other devices with a yellow exclamation mark (including a built in webcam, so not USB).

I have tried sfc /scannow and running DISM.exe which seemed to find some errors and fixed them, but doesn't seem to be related to this issue and still get the following message every time:

Is there anything else I can do apart from trying a refresh / format? Wouldn't like to have to re-install all my 3rd party programs if possible.

Many thanks

I am trying to create a MDT2013 build image for Windows 10 x64 for the HP Elite x2 1012 G1. Almost all drivers install OK but I have an outstanding issue with the Intel High Definition DSP and "Unknown Device". These are related to Audio and Intel Bluetooth. Manually installing SP74946 works OK for the audio but if I place the softpaq with CVA in the SSM updates folder it doe snot install automatically. For the bluetooth I cannot find a Windows 10 driver only a WIndows 8.1 (SP74472) manually running this does nothing, putting SSM does nothing. Extracting and running the setup.exe install the driver but leaves wioth yellow exclamation. For SP74946 in SSM the output shows a "Possible Update" but does not install in in "Updates Performed" Possible Updates Update 1: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D70 Conexant HD Audio Driver 2015 - Version: 10.0.877.61 Q (SP74946.CVA)SP74472 is not even listed? I have also managed to extract and create an application for the audio which kinda resolves the issue but creating an application package and using "SIlentInstall.bat" but would rather this worked in SSM

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.
Motherboard > Gigabyte ga-m68mt-s2p

When I manually install audio driver for Realtek alc-888b/889 from the dvd came with motherboard, still windows says 'No sound card was found. No driver installed....'
I checked by running dxdiag.

I can't get the issue. Please help. Tnx.

A:Problem installing AUDIO DRIVER

Run the Windows Update before reinstalling driver.

Go to system manufacturer’s website and look for latest driver, Download - SAVE - right click and
RUN AS ADMIN. REBOOT after each driver installation.

Sound drivers often rollback so check the version after installation and the reboot to
see if the version you installed is there, if not repeat the install - reboot until it is. It can take
several tries depending on how many rollbacks it does.

Also Right Click Speaker near clock - Playback Devices - right click in the box area - check
Show disable and disconnected devices. Highlight speaker and on the lower Right click
Properties check settings for Device Usage enabled and so on. Also do same for Configure
on Lower Left of that box.

A:Problem with installing the Realtek HD audio driver

Hello W377ice,

If you have not already, you might see if you can uninstall it from Programs and Features, or the sound device from Device Manager. Afterwards, run the latest Realtek HD audio driver to see if it will let you install or repair.

Hope this helps,

"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"

I've spent hours researching this error - Seems like many people have the same issue although there is no difinitive fix or known cause.

I'm hoping someone here has an answer.

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 OEM (HP)

This is not an upgraded Vista system.

It's not a specific driver related issue as it's the same response/effect be it graphics/chip set/usb/printer drivers.

Please dont suggest to flatten and re-install or run a repair install - It's not an option, I only have remote access to the unit
as it's currently in field use.

This is a machine specific issue - identical machine purchased at the same time and configured the same has no issue.

So the story.

User has been fine for weeks - no hardware of software changes except Windows Updates.

A Camera/USB connection that was working no longer does.
Tried in all USB ports

Plug in - windows announces found new hardware, tries to install drivers then fails
with "Windows found software for your device but encountered an error installing ...."

Device manager finds and identifies device although it is in the 'Unknown Device" category.

Manually updating drivers via search/internet or point directly at a driver has exactly the same effect.

Thinking this was just the camera drivers - I researched and downloaded new drivers from camera manufacturers sites

A:There must be a real solution to "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"

Hi Chris,
This issue occurs due to Driver software path is not specified .

this way you will find out what drivers you are looking for don't pay them just scan for the results !!

if your system has ATI Chipsets you can go here ( ) to get some of the drivers that you need , you will be looking for support & drivers downloads , you will have to tell them your system type and ect... but that is all automated

I just installed the GameMuse DVD 5.1 driver to my Windows XP Pro because my sound wasn't working and now I can't get past the "Windows Is Starting Up" Screen. It will say video resolution not supported and then the only thing I can do is reboot.

This never happened before when I installed this driver, but it happened now after I installed and used Driver Genius Professional.

Please advise.

A:windows not starting right after installing new audio driver

Try these:

1. During startup, press F8 repeatedly (could be a different F-key, usually F8). If done right, you should come to a black screen with multiple selections, such as starting in safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, networking, etc. Select the "Start with last known good configuration" option and press enter. See if that helps.

2. In the event the above does not work, then do the same thing again and start in safe mode. If it allows you to do so, go into the device manager (right-click on "My Computer", properties, click the Device Manger button), select the device you installed the driver for, and roll-back the driver.

3. In the event neither of the above worked, do the same thing again, and start in safe mode. This time, try system restore. Try restoring to a point BEFORE you installed the driver.

Hello, Since a few weeks,  I haven't been able to use my bluetooth speaker anymore. I used to simply connect (Bluetooth Devices -> My speaker -> Services -> Listen to music) but the "Listen to music" link is now grey and disabled : impossible to click it.I investigated a bit and realized that the "Intel Wireless Bluetooth" driver was not correctly installed. I tried to uninstall, repair, reinstall it, but couldn't do any of these actions, I always got an error message near the end of the installation process.I'm pretty sure this is the problem : I checked the device manager and discovered 16 "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" with a warning icon in the "Other devices" category ... Doesn't look good, right ? Is anyone struggling with the same issues ? Have you found a way to fix it ? Thanks a lot for any help. Best, Sylvain E.K.

I have a HP 630 notebook with win7 Ultimate 64 bit. When I tried to generate a system health report I am getting a time out error. So I went through many threads here about this problem but could not find a solution. Finally I made a clean Install and ran the perfmon.exe and found that I could generate the report. But when I installed the recommended driver Atheros Bluetooth driver(64) from HP's site, the report generation failed and gives time out error. My dilemma is that if I uninstall the bluetooth driver I can run system health report but bluetooth will not work. What am I to do to get both?

A:Perfmon.exe /report not generating after installing bluetooth driver

Here's something from the helpfiles

You can also create a new report for a data collector set by typing perfmon /report "Data_Collector_Set_name" at a command prompt. Typing perfmon /report without any other parameters will generate the System Diagnostics report.

I have just installed the audio driver for my motherboard, restarted the computer and it seems that driver doesn't do anything at all. I have the speaker icon in the tray bar with a red 'x' on it, and it says: "No Audio Output Device is installed". Why is that? It is saying that there is 'No OutPut Device installed'. I'm on a Windows 7 and I think its a 64 Bit but I'm not positive. If you can help me at all it would be appreciated.

I had tried everything from attempting to install another update, to attempting to have the program fix itself. I've also tried downloading the Audio Bus on the HP website and nothing has worked. I'm worried I caused more problems then the original one. Anything you guys can help with would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a client with a new Dell Desktop slim tower with Windows 7 (64-bit). However, the OS does not recognize the Realteck audio driver in this peculiar way. It gives the message "the device cannot start (code 10)." All attempts to re-enter the driver either from the Dell website or the Microsoft website results in the failure of Windows 7 to install the updated driver that both websites repute to be compatible. A reinstall of Windows 7 produced the same result - driver will not install or if installed the device will not start. Additionally, Dell has a diagnostic program available pre-Windows start-up. This bios-based program tests the speakers (audio card) to be working. One can hear them work as part of the test. Yet, Windows 7 will not work with the audio card or audio device driver. Any suggestions? Is the compatibility issue not fixable? Will the client have to upgrade (replace) the audio card? - TomRH

Go to Start/Search and type dxdiag and press enter. Run the tests on the Audio. This will tell you the Hardware ID
Also, download and run Speccy. This will tell you the specific audio hardware ID as well to search for the driver on google. If you need help, in Speccy, go to File/Publish Snapshot Copy the URL to the clipboard and Paste it into your next post.

Okay, so I just recently (today) installed Windows Professional 64 bit edition on my roommates computer. Before that, it had Media Center Edition, 32 bit. (it's an athlon 64bit proc. btw)

Anyways, install went fine, everything worked great and seemed a little faster until I tried to install the network, audio, and display drivers.

So first I tried to install the network driver that I had copied from the internet off an external hard drive off of . So that didn't work - long story short, it took me about an hour to find the proper driver just for the NIC, and I had to find it off of and pretty much just guess and check.

But there is a problem - whenever I go to websites, or even move windows around, it takes a second to sort of reiterate the image on the screen, and makes lines and then refreshes very slowly. It happens whenever I scroll down a page, restore a window or move like say display properties for example. I even turned off 'show window contents while dragging' and it still does it!

Now I understand that this might be a display driver issue, since it's running off the basic VGA driver. So I was trying for hours trying to find a new display driver that would work with the 64 bit edition of xp pro, and I can't. I'm pretty sure I even found some that said it was for this exact version, but no, still won't install.

The same thing happens with the Sigmatel 92xx onboard audio. I find all different types of d... Read more

I recently installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on a machine utilising an Asus M4N82 Deluxe motherboard. I subsequently installed all current drivers for use with Win7 64 bit for the Mobo downloaded from the Asus website. Windows 7 itself found current drivers for the peripherals that it supports. For the first few days all ran well without any issues. Then Win 7 ran some updates and now whenever I awake my computer from sleep mode it tells me that the audio driver is not installed. A restart brings it back--or has so far--but what is causing it and is there anything I can do? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to no avail. From web searches this sems to be a common problem with no clear answer which likely means it is an issue with MS at the root of it and unwilling or unable to address it.

FWIW, the machine is telling me that my power management system is missing a driver. I have downloaded it from the Asus website but have not installed it. Could this be the issue then? I'm reluctant to install it without some advice lest I make things worse.

Are there any black exclamation marks inside yellow circles visible in Device Manager? If there are, right click the device and choose "Uninstall". Confirm that you want to uninstall the device and then right click the top of the device tree and choose "Scan For Hardware changes" to reinstall it again.

If the OS can't find the driver, click "Have Disk" and then navigate to the folder you saved the drivers to.

Its always advisable that before doing a clean install, you need to collect all the drivers for your laptop.
You can find all the drivers from your manufacture's site. At this point go to an internet center or to your friend's house and download all the drivers. http://www.rapidenumerique.fr : http://www.saisiededonnees-idf.fr

I bought a used Acer Aspire 9410 laptop. The seller removed the hard drive because he did not want his files compromised. The removed hard drive was a 160GB and the new one is a Western Digital WD3200APVT-00ZEST0 320GB. I also bought the Windows 7 Home premium software to install. At about 16% of the files expanding I get a message that I need device driver to access the hard drive. I need to know how and where to get the device driver files and be able to put on USB device to install as I need. I am setting up this computer for my daughter and am on my own computer to try and find the necessary files.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

I've installed my pc, and as usually i install an audio driver. But, in the middle of installation my pc restarted and viewed bsod. But after that, my unknown audio device is not seen. And the audio didn't work. So, I installed the os again. It still didn't work. But, suddenly there's an unknown device driver popup and I inserted my cd driver. But, in the middle of installation it viewed BSoD and the audio driver lost again.
Here's something I got from dumpcheck :

I recently reformatted my PC and have had difficulty in installing audio drivers. My system is running Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.

My machine is using an Intel D955xbk motherboard. Other hardware info follows:

Genuine Intel CPU 3.20 GHz
2.00 GB of RAM
500 GB Western Digital SATA hard drive
MSI R4670 Graphics Card, 512 MB DDR 3

After reformatting, I installed the necessary drivers and updated windows to Service Pack 3. For the audio device, I used the AUD_allOS_D20001.0x_PV_IDTGUI_v105_Legacy driver from Intel's site. On the first run, the files extracted and the installer launched. It appeared to precede normally, until I received the message "Cannot copy file st322000.dll" Although I saw this file in the extracted folder, the installer kept producing this message until I exited. Afterwards, the Device Manager showed Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture Devices, Media Control Devices, Video Codecs, and Two identical entries with question marks and the title "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus." On my second attempt to install the audio drivers, I received a message saying "The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package. The installer will abort."

Anyone have a clue what's going on here?

Have you tried the "Intel Driver Update Utility"?It's possible this may help you find another driver that works. You may also want to look at KB888111 from Microsoft. This is the Universal Audio Architecture driver for Windows XP, 2000, and 2003.Hope this helps,

I'm running Windows XP SP2. I had absolutely no problems installing the audio driver from the disc that came with my motherboard the first time around. Unfortunately, I had to reformat and reinstall Windows because my harddrive was being recognized as disk "i" instead of "c" (causing alot of problems for me installing software). So now that problem has been solved, but I can't get the Realtek audio driver installed. A message pops up each time I try to install it which says: "Install Realtek HD audio driver failure". Could it be because I also installed "uaa bus driver - version I don't think that one was meant to be used with Windows XP SP2 (it's not listed as being one of the OS's that supports this driver). Of course, now I have no idea how to get rid of it, and a balloon pops up from the taskbar each time I turn on my computer saying "new hardware installed". I try to install it using the wizard, but it won't install. What's gone wrong?

I'm trying to install the audio driver for my father's computer. He has Windows XP and his motherboard is an Asrock P4I45G. I downloaded the driver from Asrock's website:
But now I'm lost. There is no installation wizard, just a zip file. And I have no idea what to do next. Can anyone help?

A:Solved: Installing an audio driver

I'm assuming it's the C-Media audio driver for XP, dated 01-16-2004, that you downloaded and saved.

Place the ZIP file by itself in a folder on the desktop. Right-click the file, then click "Extract Here" from the list that appears. Once the extraction process completes in a few seconds, a folder containing several files will appear. (Note: You can now delete the ZIP file). Double-clicking the "Setup.exe' file will start the install process. Once it's complete, reboot the computer.

(Just in case you need it for future reinstall, I would burn off the folder to a CD-R)

After installing the software for a Hantek 6022BE digital 'scope, Windows couldn't install its driver.
(The software covers several models, so when the unit is first plugged in it searches for the relevant driver.)

It presented this window:

An enquiry to the manufacturers via email resulted in them sending a new driver. The original is named simply "Driver", the new one "Win8Driver".
I put the original one in a new folder and renamed the new one as "Driver".

Then, when I plugged in the unit, the Found New Hardware Wizard didn't open up.

I uninstalled everything "Hantek" which IObit's uninstaller could find and reinstalled the software. Isolated the original driver and replaced it with the renamed new one, but the Hardware Wizard still doesn't open.

Further email to the manufacturer has not received a response.

Can anyone help please?

A:Windows found driver ... but encountered an error

There appears to be a corruption in the driver store on your Windows Image.

Open an elevated command prompt in Administrator mode

type sfc -scannow

The system file checker will check the driver and component store for errors and will attempt to repair them.

If SFC finds errors, but cannot repair them, then you will need to use DISM to scan the health of your computer image.

DISM /online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth

this will determine if your component store is repairable.

then type

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

This will attempt to restore the system files with known good ones.

If this doesn't help, then you will need to possibly Refresh or Reinstall Windows.

Good day everyone!

I recently noticed that my graphics for Fallout 3 are quite choppy and particle effects are pixelated, so I went and checked for new drivers for my ATI radeon 5570. I downloaded the auto detect driver utility on AMD's website and downloaded the appropriate package for my Windows. I follow their installation guide to upgrade from older drivers and launch the "Express install" option.

My problems starts here, I get a 50/50 chance that, while installing the display driver, the screen goes black and flash a couple of times followed by a BSOD (I don't have the details it disappear too fast ). The other half is that the drivers will go past the screen going black and flashing, but the display is set to 800 x 600 (the basic resolution). I restart the computer only to find that I cannot ajust the display past 1024 x 768 on my 1920 x 1080 supporting monitor. Going inside the driver manager -> displays, reveal that my 5570 is not working (the exclamation mark icon is visible) and that "windows cannot verify digital signature[...] Error code 52"

I've searched all over the internet for people with a similar problem but found nothing to help me. If anything, I've found that other windows machine with seven are able to install this particular driver without a code 52. For now i've rolled back to the old settings that worked before.

Can anyone assist? I'm running out of ideas.

Earlier today, Windows Update prompted me to install two items: KB3035583 (recommended) and "Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Audio Device, Other hardware - Realtek High Definition Audio" (optional). I installed both items.

After rebooting, the audio coming from my speakers could barely be heard. Changing the Windows 7 speaker icon (on the taskbar) to 100% didn't help much. The Volume Mixer applet lists the speaker icon and application icons at 100%. The Sound applet lists the speakers properties' levels at 100%. My speakers are set at their normal level; i.e., unchanged. I notice a red speaker icon on the taskbar which wasn't there before; presumably, the Realtek installation added this.

Any suggestions on how to proceed? I'm not sure if there was any Realtek software present on my system beforehand--so I'm not sure if this software is new (to my PC) or an update. The detail dialog box for the Realtek software says it was released in December 2014; this is the first I've seen it.

I click on OK and then another box comes up titled "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. The box says:-

The problem I have is connecting my bluetooth headset to my laptop. Initially it was working fine, but the sound quality wasn't very good (compared to playing the same sound when connected to my android device). So I decided to update the driver on the laptop.

Here is where the problem started.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6b51sa laptop, with a 64bit windows 7 installed. The headphones are these

I went onto the HP website to update the driver:

I then proceeded to download and install the intel PROset bluetooth driver. Which installed fine. It then let me connect to the headphones, but no sound was coming through. I then clicked on the headset after connecting, and clicked 'search services'. One of the services it found was 'Listen to music'. However when selected, nothing actually happens and stays on that screen.

So as I realised i had made a mistake in updating, I needed another way to solve the issue. So i downloaded the intel driver update utility. It said I should update the bluetooth module to the latest version, so I did it through that utility. Still the same problem and I couldn't hear anything.

So i looked at a friends laptop which is similar and his bluetoot... Read more

I'm using Windows 7 RC, and I just bought LG HBS-250 stereo Bluetooth headset. And I'm using kensington bluetooth dongle with windows 7 basic driver. My bluetooth hasn't given me any problem with syncing to my BlackBerry.

Now I want to use my headset to listen to music through audio streaming from my PC. First of all, the headset works perfectly with my BlackBerry.

But when I try to listen to music from PC, the music constantly stops just like I'm listening to streaming music with bad connection. (Buffering)

Funny thing is, when the headset is connected to BOTH BlackBerry and PC, then the music from PC plays flawlessly.

What should I do to correct this problem? I don't want to keep my BlackBerry's bluetooth on just for this ..

man am I lost. Win XP Pro SP3 on HP DC7100 3Ghz P4, 762mb Ram, 80 gb seagate.

I had this system working perfectly until Documents & Settings got messed up and started making duplicates of user accounts. wiped the drive, reformatted the slow way. Loaded Windows XP Pro SP3, as before. When I went to HP's support page, I was mystified that the Audio Driver was not listed. Went on Chat support and inquited. They say the audio Codec is ADI 1981B and to go there and get driver. So I did that. no worky.
Caused BSOD/dump.

I removed the video card. Booted in normal mode and it BSOD'd again. Booted into Safe Mode and it came up. Checked the Device Manager and it shows Realtek AC'97 installed with driver loaded [for first time].
I did change the IRQ settings in between these two bootups.

The baffling thing is that it all worked swell previously. i don't even recall a hiccup of any kind in loading the various drivers.
some gremlin in my office sabotaging devices!

Do I need to go into the registry and remove every entry relating to audio devices? how?

A:Solved: BSOD installing ADI 1981B Audio Driver. it worked before.. why now?

Go back to the HP support page and scroll down the page to the driver listings. Find the section for "Driver - Chipset" (below the BIOS and Diagnostic listings). The link is titled "Intel Chipset Support for Microsoft Windows". When you find it, click the black "Download" button to the RIGHT, and the chipset driver pack will download to your system. Save it to the Desktop, or some other place where you can find it easily.

The file name is "SP28061.exe"; it is less than 6 MB, so it should download quickly. Find the file and double-click it; the installer will run and replace your existing motherboard chipset drivers. Next, REBOOT THE SYSTEM; do NOT avoid rebooting. Windows will need to reboot to finish deleting the old files and installing the new ones.

Once you get back to the Desktop, test your sound and check Device Manager for problems (yellow exclamation marks). If everything is working properly, you got a bit lucky. If not, reinstall the ADI 1981B drivers again, and REBOOT, so Windows can get everything in order again.

After that, your sound problem should be fixed; let us know how this turns out.

I recently upgraded by Logitech (MX5000 Mouse and Keyboard set) software which included USB dongle firmware and now when I boot the machine (Dell D620) , the mouse works ok but the machine keeps prompting for new hardware for the kayboard. The logitech software timesout (and so device disappears) before i get the chance to click, browse my computer for drivers.

Two questions really.

1. Can I change vista to look locally before windows update for drivers
2. Can I force vista to realise it has the drivers.

I will probably uninstall the logitech software as the mouse & KB will just work natively anyway.

I've just bought a mini Bluetooth USB Dongle and a Bluetooth Headset (MaiaXong Q7). The headset works great with my iPod and laptop but when I connect the Headset to my computer, a driver named, "Q7 (Mono Audio)", doesn't get installed. There is already one "Q7 (Mono Audio)" driver installed by the headset but it again has to do it. I don't know why! I've tried formatting my computer, getting another Bluetooth dongle and even troubleshooting but it doens't work. Need Immidiate help ASAP!

I have an ACER Aspire 5349 laptop with Windows 7 Starter 32-bit without Bluetooth. I have loaded Bluesoleil purchased on disc with an Esquire Bluetooth USB Adapter. Through this medium I used to run an E-blue Ion Bluetooth Mini mouse, but suddenly it would not work any longer. This package used to work superbly with Windows XP Home on a previous HP Laptop. Troubleshooter tells me the problem will be fixed if the driver is reloaded, but it reports that it cannot fix it automatically. The driver is located in C:\windows\system32\drivers\VHIDMini.sys. When I type in this string in prompt mode, it tells me "application cannot be run in win32 mode". Why did it then work before?
When I check the properties of the device it says "This device cannot start (code 10)" . When troubleshooter tries to install the driver it says "device driver was not successfully installed".
Through device properties I have tried to update the driver, but it tells me the driver is up to date.
Please help me as all other avenues failed.
I thank you.

"This package used to work superbly with Windows XP"

Windows XP drivers don't work on Windows 7. You need to get a Windows 7 driver for the Esquire bluetooth adapter from it's maker's website (if they have one). If that model is not supported on Windows 7 (ie no driver available) you'll have to buy a new model adapter.

Hi, this is my first post here so be gentle!

Recently I got a bluetooth 4.0 dongle from ebay (china, so that might be my problem right there). I figured if my phone has 4.0, might as well use it to its full potential. Now I can install the drivers fine, windows seems to find them by its self, but the only option I have is connect to access point. No file transfer option, which is why I got it in the first place. If I double click my phone in the bluetooth window it brings up a properties page with no useful information on it, but under services it says "android sms" and when I put a tick in the box it tries to install another driver but fails to find it. I've looked around and can't find one for it anywhere. It's a generic CSR 4.0 bluetooth 4.0 dongle.

The CD that came with the dongle has something on it called bluesoleil, and I did try using it but it's terrible and seems to disable the windows bluetooth stuff and put its own over the top. That I don't mind, but for the latest bluesoleil software that supports call and sms handling it's another ?20 and I resent having to buy it when it should have been shipped with the dongle in the first place (which was only ?5 anyway!) When using bluesoleil, it doesn't have any problems with drivers and I've tried pulling the driver out of the program and uninstalling it to get back to windows bluetooth stuff but I had no luck. So anyway, does it sound like a knackered dongle or am I doing something really stupid to stop i... Read more

So this all first started happening a few months ago when I was updating my audio drivers. The update was doing its thing then it crashed for some reason, and I haven't been able to update it at all since then. Oddly enough though, my audio has always worked fine. That is until today, for no reason that I can see, my audio has stopped working all of a sudden. But even though I can't hear anything either through my headphones or monitor speakers, I can see the little audio fader thing moving when I have some audio playing.

What can I do to try and fix this problem? Oh, and I should also note, the image that I posted, I get that pop-up everytime I start my computer. And the following is what it shows when you click the Details button.

Hi HS5964,

If the 'Audio' has been working fine lately, you may try performing a 'System Restore' to roll back 'corrupt software changes': System Restore
Note: Please create a 'Restore Point' before attempting the 'Restore': System Restore Point - Create

If the issue persists, you may remove 'Audio drivers' from 'Device Manager' and try installing fresh set of drivers.
- Click 'Start' > Type 'devmgmt.msc' (without quotations) in 'Search box > Tap 'Enter' > Locate and Expand 'Sound, Video & Game Controllers' category > Right click and uninstall the 'Realtek related' driver > Follow through with the uninstall > Allow 'Windows' to restart > 'Windows' will install updates for the 'Realtek Audio' (You may also install drivers from the manufacturer website: Realtek) > Recheck the results.

Hope this helps. Do reply with the findings.

I have a laptop with Vista OS, and want to have Realtek HD Audio Driver installed. I downloaded one of the many Vista packages from the Realtek site, and restarted my computer. But I didn't see the Realtek driver icon at the bottom of my toolbar. I uninstalled my IDT audio driver (the default my laptop comes with when it's bought) because I was told by the person from which I first heard about Realtek it was getting in the way of Realtek working. So I uninstalled IDT, and now my speakers don't emit sound anymore. Just headphones. I looked for the Realtek icon, but still don't see it. I searched through google, and apparently I need DirectX 8. I downloaded 9 because it was listed as the version specifically for Vista. I reinstalled Realtek again, and again restarted my computer. I still don't see the icon. What did I do wrong? Hello, I recently received a bluetooth headset for my computer but I can't seem to use it. I've added the bluetooth headset to my computer and it shows up on my bluetooth devices list but it doesn't work. Troubleshooting the problem leads to Windows saying that it requires a driver however when I update the driver through device manager, it says that if doesn't need a driver.

I've connected this driver to my smart phone and it works fine but I can't connect it to my computer.

The headset is a Shinco AM7 bluetooth headset. I can't go to their website because its in Chinese and I can't read Chinese.

Would be very helpful if you completed your System Specs. Did the headset come with with a dongle as many desktops don't have the Bluetooth hardware only the software which can then recognize the hardware when inserted and often will need the correct drivers to function properly

I have an IVT bluenext BN01 micro bluetooth adaptor; I bought it in on 28 Oct 2010. It came with a mini-cd with bluesoleil software. I used it successfully for a while, but I haven't used it for a few months. It still works in my old XP computer, but I can't now get it to work on my vista laptop. It did work on this laptop before. A message on screen on the bluesoleil window says please insert a Bluetooth device. I have turned computer off & on again, taken adaptor out & put in again. Somehow windows is not recognising it. I presume it may be a driver problem but I may be wrong.
My Dell Vostro 1710 Vista laptop has automatic updates. Blue soleil is version I uninstalled & then reinstalled this from the CD that came with the adaptor. The adaptor has no buttons on it, it's very small; the whole thing is less than twice the size of the USB plug itself.
Could I have removed the driver for it? I don't recall doing so. In Control Panel, Bluetooth Devices has nothing listed. If I click "Allow bluetooth devices to find this computer" then an error message says "An error occurred while windows was saving your settings. A Bluetooth device might be unplugged"
I've tried lots of things but it still doesn't work. Now a message says

BlueSoleil Bttray has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.(only one option - Close program)

A:Bluetooth dongle not recognised - maybe driver problem?

Hi Ricardo, Welcome to Vista Forums. I will try to help you fix your problem with your Bluetooth adapter. Here are some things to try:

1) Check for the device in Device Manager: Click Start, type Device into the search box, click Device Manager in the list of results, Click the plus next to Bluetooth Radios (If present) and see if the dongle shows up without a Yellow Warning sign next to it. If it doesn't show up, or has a warning sign next to it, let me know. If it does read on.

2) Reinstall the Device Driver and Software: Go to Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features, select the Bluetooth software from the list and uninstall it. Then insert the disc that came with your dongle and reinstall the software and drivers. If this works, Please tell me, otherwise read on.

3) If your are here and the problem is still not solved, let me know. I am searching for a driver on the internet that will download and saves normally, and that is virus free. I will let you know if I find one.

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased a Logitech V270 Bluetooth Mouse that uses the integrated bluetooth stack in my Dell 630m laptop. The dell comes with a Toshiba Bluetooth stack installed, unfortunately the supplied SetPoint Software does not cooperate with this driver and tells me to get an updated driver (which I have). The Logitech software suggests Broadcom/Widcomm Bluetooth BTW 1.4.221 or above driver. I downloaded and installed the B/W drivers. This has not helped at all. I now have two Bluetooth logos in my sys tray, one slightly smaller one with white, and a slightly larger one with red. Red means off/not working and it is telling me there is no Bluetooth device plugged in.If anyone can help me, thatd be great. The bluetooth mouse works, so does my bluetooth samsung t609 cell phone, the setpoint software allows some customization thatd Id like.
