If you're able to, plug a cable directly into the computer, see if it connnects,  then run all the optinal updates. A bunch of times the optional drivers will sometimes help you with those little unknowns and get the wifi working.

Hello,
First let me tell you about my system.   This is an Inspiron
E1705/9400 laptop with the T7400 Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.16
GHZ.   It has 2 GB of RAM and a brand new 500GB Hitachi Travelstar hard
drive (7200 RPM).   It also has the GeForce Go 7900 GS video card.
It previously had Windows XP Professional (32 bit) and worked fine.
But, I have three computers in my home and home office and would like
them all to work better together on my wired home network, so I am
upgrading all three to Windows 7.   My two desktops (one is Dimension
XPS 420 and the other is Dimension XPS 430) seem like they will be no
problem to upgrade to Windows 7.   But, this laptop was not listed on
Dell's Windows 7 Compatibility List.   However, the Windows 7 Upgrade
Advisor that I downloaded and ran seemed to say that it was OK to do a
clean install of 32 bit Windows 7 and it only had a few minor concerns,
where it said to check for updated drivers from the manufacturer.   The
laptop originally came with a 100GB hard drive.   For my use, that is
getting very small, so I decided to get the same exact 7200 RPM drive
in the 500 GB size.   This will allow me to do a clean install of the
32 bit Windows 7 OS on the new hard drive and not have to wipe the old
drive to do it.   I can just hold onto the old HD and stick it back in
whenever I might ... Read more

There are 2 devices in the "Device Manager" that do not have drivers installed.

I just did a clean install of Window 7 SP1 32-bit to a Dell Latitude E6500. I have uploaded all the Windows updates and all seems to be performing well. However, there are two devices in the "device manager" that do not have drivers installed, and I can't determine what the devices are nor how/where to find the drivers for them online or elsewhere. The driverless devices are "Base System Device" and "Broadcom USH". When I look at the properties page of both devices, it says that the Base System Devices location is "PCI bus 3, device 1, function 3", and the Boradcom USH's location as "0000.001a.0002.001.000.000.000.000.000".

The laptop did NOT come with a drivers installation disk.

QUESTION: How can I identify what these devices actually are and, more importantly, how can I obtain the driver for them?

A:Can't ID driverless devices "Base System Device" and "Broadcom USH"

Well, as for the second part of your question......... have you tried using windows own driver update utility? Right click on the yellow exclamation point in Device Manager, choose update.

I'm thinking your "boradcom ush" is this, drivers for it are here too, :Broadcom USH - USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800 - awdit - The driver, software, & hardware database

I consider myself an advanced user, but this one I've never seen, nor can I find info out for...

I haven't been able to plug a video camera or external hard drive into my computer via FireWire. I then tried a different cable, nothing. I then tried a different device and cable, nothing. I then tried a different computer with two devices, nothing.

My USB2.0 works fine with each device and computer. I also took the new computer into CompUSA and they tried their firewire device and all worked. I bought a new firewire cable, but I have the same luck with each device.

How can 2 external hardrives, and one sony camera not work, after working for a year. What happened? What do I need to do?

There are multiple websites that I cannot connect to, facebook, rottentomatoes, youtube, to name a few. Others seem perfectly fine. A few seem okay, but seem to be running slowly.

This is the case for both my computer (on which I am running Windows 7), which is connected directly to the router, *and* mobile devices which are connected wirelessly.

On my computer I have tried using several different browsers to no avail, but when I used the TOR browser to proxy, I was able to access them.

I apologize if this has been asked, but I haven't been able to find anything this specific.

Thank you.

I have a report that opens based on a combo box. The combo box is based on a query and is limited to the list. Basically you select the estimator's name in the text box and press a button to open the report with the related data. Here is the code I am using:

DoCmd.OpenReport "CloseOutRep", acViewPreview, , "[Estimator]= '" & Me.txtEstimator & "'"

The user wants to narrow the reports down by adding two more combo boxes - txtLocation and txtYear. How can I open this report with the additional criteria of

"[Location]= '" & Me.txtLocation & "'"
"[SalesYear]= '" & Me.txtSales & "'"

I guess any criteria would have to be true for the report to display data, which shouldn't be a problem because of limiting the selections to the list in the combo box.

So if this is possible all I will need is a way to make Access assume all records should be displayed when one criterion or another is not chosen.

Any ideas?

Our ISP recently updated their hard ware to work with the Sprint network. Note: our ISP is not Sprint, but the local phone company.

Our Hardware:
Internet: DSL 10.0 (highest speed available)
Modem: Comtrend (ISP provides)
Router: Belkin N
Computer: 10 yr old Dell running XP - service pac3 - wired connection
Kindle Fire (first edition, no HD, etc) - wireless connection
Xbox 360 - wireless connection

Issues:
Xbox - went from constantly bumped from Xbox Live game by losing internet connection to not being able to enter a game at all
Kindle - went from occasional "network error' message during online tasks to having to restart download (multiple times) or refresh page for most any or all online tasks
Computer - have to click refresh to get most any page to load after the home page

What we've tried so far:
I have recently cleared the cache on both the computer and Kindle. XBox's new security measures have been met.

My questions:
Do any or all of these issues seem to be related?
Is there a piece of equipment or something we may be missing to make all of these things work? I am a networking novice.
Who should I call to get these issues corrected, my ISP or a tech service? Note: if I start with the ISP and they do not find an issue I have to pay for the call.

A:Multiple issues over multiple devices

First. You should try to NOT use a wireless connection for any type of gaming: PC, Mac, Console, etc. If you can hard wire the xbox you'll be waaay better off than using wireless.

Now... Yes, the issues could be related - there maybe an issue with the Belkin N router. I'd try to first reset the Belkin router to default settings, check on manufacturer website for instructions how, most routers you can press a "reset" button w/ a paperclip or ball point pen. Reconfigure the Belkin router, recreate the wireless network and see how everything works. If you are still having issues, humor me and connect the Dell directly to the DSL modem, bypassing Belkin router. See if you still have connection issues, if you do then it could be the DSL modem that is the problem and call your ISP to replace. If you don't have same issues then it's most likely an issue with the Belkin router. Replace it. Don't buy the dirt cheapest router at the store, but you most likely don't need the most expensive one either. Find a good middle ground router, ask sales associate to assist you accordingly.

Post back, Hope this helps!!

I am having some connection problems to a mysql database for a small shop, which is located on a shared hosting server. I am using Open Office Base as a front end on Windows 7. I will create a form which is simple and easy to use for someone that is non technical, I could not use for example phpmyadmin or something that exposes too many options to the employee. OO Base does connect successfully but after a short time of inactivity there is an error message which is SQL Status: HY000 Error code: 2006 MySQL server has gone away. The reason for this has been determined that there is a time out of only 30 seconds which unfortunately I cannot change, as it is set by the hosting company in the my.conf file on the server. They also as most web hosts are of limited help. OK fine so I should just be able to reconnect. The problem is that Open Office proceeds to crash and I have to go through a file recovery window and there are several steps including having to re-type the password again to connect. I really need to solve two things here, prevent OO crashing and also having it realize it lost the connection and just re-connecting, without having to type in the password again. I have tried turning off the auto recovery of files but it didn't work, I have tried adding no restore as an option in the shortcut, also didn't work. I have tried enabling connection pooling, it also didn't work. For reconnecting I tried adding ?autoReconnect=true to the end of the database name a... Read more

Hello, My OS is Windows 10 Pro and when I check the Device Manager I notice there is an device called 'Base system device'  under the 'Other devices' section which has a yellow alert icon on it. I have tried 'Update driver software' Windows option in order to look through Internet for a new driver but it hasn't found anything.  Also I have checked your website for a new/updated driver for this device, but you don't have an option for Windows 10 OS. Therefore, how do you suggest I proceed, please?  Kind regards.

Does the installed OS a 32 or 64-bit architecture? It is likely that the Base system device driver that is missing is the media card reader. Check in the Device Manager to see if there is one installed or not. Your notebook has either a JMicron or an Alcor Micro media card reader.  You can try installing the Windows 8.1 version of the driver in compatibility mode. Use the driver that is present in the driver download  section of the support portal for your notebook. My computer crashed a while ago and I had to reinstall everything. Who knows what happened. I bought a new printer and am using it through a usb. I get an error message that "windows cannot detect device". I went into device manager and under the system device tree there is an exclamation point next to Base System Device. Can anyone tell me what that is and how to fix it? Could that be my problem with my printer install. I thought that Windows automatically detected any new hardware (I tried the new printer on another computer and it works fine).

Hi all,

Looking at purchasing a bundle to start a new build and this is what I am thinking of buying, but thought I'd let you look at it with your expert eyes before I bought it!

Won't let me post a link due to my post count so -

the price is 179.99

Motherboard (Asus F1A55-M LE)

RAM
DDR3 240 Pin DIMM.
1.5V, CL9
4GB 10600, 1333Mhz

Processor:
AMD A6 3650

Also standard Heatsink/Fan

Next upgrade would be the graphics card.

This is just to get me started and will slowly upgrade all parts of this bundle, but I need to be able to just buy individual parts and have someway of testing them and thought this wouldn't be a bad option?

I already have a 550w XTX Easy Rail PSU (Purchased yesterday).

Anyway, let me know what you think the pros and cons to this base system are please if you would be so kind

Danny

A:New system base -- your opinions?

You can only use crossfire, NO SLI Support on that board. That means you can only use AMD Radeon graphics cards. Any particular reason you picked a micro-atx board? Is this computer mainly for gaming? If not, what is it going to be used for?

Welcome to seven forums hostalla: At the bottom of this page and any page with similar issues you'll find threads on that issue. Most of the times it is a card reader driver or Richo or Alps touchpad driver. So go to HP site and find your laptop and download drivers for these 2 items(* if not 7 Vista will work in compatibility mode) and it should resolve your issue. Or you can go to device manager>click on the item>click properties>details tab>drop down menu>hardware id and copy and paste the code and we can find the driver for you. Also read the threads with the check mark on them below for more information.Compatibility Mode Good luck Fabe

I would start with going here,

for the display driver. According to the specs for that model Toshiba you need the ATI driver.

For the "base system", at a guess I would say that they are likely the card reader and possibly the touchpad (or fingerprint reader if it came with one; guessing on this one due to there being a download for it). Can tell you for sure if you could provide the vendor and device ID's,

I can remove them and they come back.
I can disable them and it doesn't seem to hurt anything.
I'm really not sure where they came from but maybe Asus AI Suite or Corsair Link which I removed a long time ago.

Hello all,

I succesfully installed Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

Only one device in devicemanager has no driver, or is not functioning correct.

see picture below:

Does someone has a suggestion how to solve this?

Thanks in advance!

A:Base System Device no driver

Wouldn't worry about it and just disable it.

Unless you actually know what it does and want the functionality. In this case, right click it in the device manager, properties, details tab, change dropdown to hardware ids. Copy and paste what you see to here.

A:Solved: What is Base System Device

In the device manager click on update driver where theres yellow question marks and sometimes it will install the correct driver needed. if not try the dell website and look under support drivers and downloads for the drivers needed for that model of computer. if you type in the service tag it will give you the exact ones needed for that computer.

Contacted Vaio (US/Canada) and Microsoft Techies - NO difference.

As soon as I startup my computer it begins to popup an Install New Hardware Wizard. I have nothing plugged into any of the ports on my laptop nor have I modified or added to its hardware. Once the window comes up it makes my computer very slow to continue starting up. If i click cancel, it comes back again. Once I click cancel several times it pops up at the bottom right that my new base hardware device driver has not been properly installed and will not function properly. It takes at least 20 minutes to for all of this to happen. This has been happening for several weeks. I have not installed any new programs and I have researched each item in the autorun startup file to ensure I don't have anything out of whack starting up with my computer and have found nothing. Everything is up to date as well.

I have tried to look under the device manager to make sure there were no drivers not functioning. Nothing has an exclamation point. Under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers there are 3 drivers listed as Base System Device. When I click them it brings up the new hardware wizard again. Under properties it says it is for PC Bus3 device 1 function 1, 3, & 4. I don't know what these are for so I don't know if I should try to update the driver or disable or unistall or if it has somehow been infected?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to assist me with a problem I am currently encountering. I recently moved to a new appartment where the person i'm sharing with already has a wireless network in place. The ADSL connection is connected to a netgear router which in turn is connected to an apple mac airport base to run the wireless network. I purchased a Sitecom WL-022 USB wireless network adaptor to try and gain access to the network, however I am having no sucess at all.

While the adaptor is sucessfully detected by my system, and installed, it appears to be unable to detect the existing network. My PC is approximatly six meters from the base unit and my flatmates mac is used from the room next to mine at a point approximatly nine to ten meters from the base unit, and they encounter no problems detecting it. I have tried using Sitecoms own software to configure the connection (disabling XP's Wireless Zero Configuration to do so) and using XP's own Wireless connection wizard. Neither have picked up any trace of the existing network.

My system is a Windows XP system, 2.6Ghz AMD, 512 RAM, 40Gig HD, NVidia Geforce 4 card. Can anyone offer any assistance as to what the problem may be, and how I might bypass or resolve it? Thanks is advance.

The machine is a Sony VPCJ128FG running Win7 Ultimate.

Thanks,

A:Base System Device - Samsung R70

Did the machine come with an installation CD?

After you install and update 7, you need to then install your chipset drivers, sound drivers, video card drivers, and then DirectX updates. You can find these all at Samsung's web site: Support for NP-R70 SAMSUNG
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...cd92a3&pf=true

The issue you face is that the machine doesn't officially support Windows 7 and so you must use the corresponding Vista driver.

Did you install the 32 or 64-bit version of 7?

Hi,

I hope someone will be able to help. I read two other threads similar to my problems but they didn't help me unfortunately.

Recently I installed a Vista on my Laptop and I had issues with my drivers not been installed. I managed to google the missing drivers- all is working well expect for 'Other Devices' under the Device Manager.

I tried allowing windows to automatically search on the web for drivers but it kept failing and saying unknown.

I tried uninstalling the 3 drivers but then I keep getting a box asking about installing new drivers.

This is how my Device Manager looks- the 3 unknown devices are in yellow.

I have tried all the downloading devices possible but nothing is helping. Any ideas?

Check the properties of the device in Device Manager and look for the hardware id...it will look something like this: ACPI\INTC0102 Post that and we can give you a definitive answer.   Base System Device is almost always a card reader of some sort. Try these: Ricoh Card Reader All your drivers There is an essential system update for Windows 7 you should definitely install. The missing devices after the Win7 upgrade are also likely to be proprietary HP devices like QuickLook.

A:base system device drivers needed

You can go to your manufacturers site and download any and all updated drivers. I think you will find your base system driver to be your Ricoh card reader. I'll check on the other. Also are their any prefix letters or numbers after V6000 as they list several. Seems only Vista drivers are avavible which can be installed in compatibiity mode. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...200953&lang=en compatiblity mode Compatibility Mode Let me edit this and say try just the chipset and card reader drivers first. Also just so you know when you post about a specific issue, you can usualy scroll down to the bottom of the thread and see simular issues and if and how they were resolved for futher problems. Good luck . please post back Fabe

Welcome to Seven forums as400: Most of the time these are the card reader drivers. In your case I believe it is a Ricoh driver found under the chipset label on your download page. Ricoh Driver applies to R5C833 Dated 7/11/2007 version 1.0.1A00 says recommended and is a Vista 32 bit driver. If your running 64 bit seven click on Vista 64 bit and it can be found in the same place. Different driver. Since more than a month that I am trying to solve problem with my USB ports. First on Windows XP SP3 and now on Vista 64x. Both had the same problems.

Computer recognizes various stuff, like external dvd recorder, printer, mp3, some small USB Pendrives player but doesn't recognize most important for me: Digital Camera (Canon 40d), Video camera (Sony Z1, hdv), and Acer USB pen drive (4GB) and external hard disc (200GB)
When I plug in cardreader, it tells me that it would work faster on Hi-Speed USB port, so at the end it works as USB 1.0 what is strange cause all USB ports should be 2.0.

I installed, reinstalled and tried million things on both systems and nothing changed... Even one more problem appeared in Device Manager: Base System Device (4 times) when I pluged it in for the first time my external hard disc (200 GB)

The problem appeared when I bought it (a friend of my armed it for me):
and have the following components:
MSI Motherboard, P7n Diamond
( system bios version: DELL- 20080717
System Bios Date : 07/17/08
Manufacturer: American Megatrends Inc.
SMBios Version V1.2
Plug&Play Version 1.0
SMBIOS/DMI Version 2.5)
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz 6MB de cache
4GB RAM (OCZ NVIDIA EDITION DDR2 1066MHz)
video card: SAPPHIRE ATI HD 3450 512MB DDR2
and Sound Blaster Audigy (24 bit)

All the drivers are up-to-date as Windows Vista (64x)... I was already looking for solutions on different websites and forums and I found various people mentioning the ... Read more

Hi everyone!A few days ago, I got an error message that my Base System Device and an Unidentified Device no longer have drivers installed for them (Code 28). This might have occurred after my latest Windows Update, but I'm not too sure. When I try to update the drivers from the Device Manager for each device, Windows can't find a driver for the device. Here are the devices that are affected (not sure if you need the Hardware IDs, but I've included them): Base System DevicePCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2392&SUBSYS_167C103C&REV_30PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2392&SUBSYS_167C103CPCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2392&CC_088000PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2392&CC_0880Unidentified DeviceUSB\VID_138A&PID_003C&REV_0086USB\VID_138A&PID_003CNot sure if it's also related, but my Standard VGA Graphics Adapter is also having similar problem and can't start (Code 10):PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&SUBSYS_167D103C&REV_00PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&SUBSYS_167D103CPCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&CC_030000PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&CC_0300I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).I've seen that I can download drivers from the HP site, but I'm not really sure which ones I need to download. Hi.
I have performed a clean install of Win 7 Home 64 bit and everything is working fine apart from one item in the device manager.

"Base System Device" has a yellow exclamation mark next to it.

I have done a bit of research and some say that I need to install the Memory Stick driver or the SD card driver.
I have installed both of these and still have a problem.

My laptop model is VGN-FW21E.

With reference to the following Tutorial: Hardware Identification, the codes you provided yield the following:

Vendor 1180 = Ricoh
Device 0592 = Memory Stick Controller

Try these drivers:

I have a Toshiba laptop that was experiencing numerous problems so I decided to format and reinstall everything. Except this time instead of using the restore CDs I put Windows7 in without all the bundled software that came with the original "out of the box" state. WOW! It runs so much faster and smoother now...feels twice as fast when I first got it! Except oddly there are two devices labeled as "Base System Device" that won't install drivers. I don't notice anything wrong with the the laptop but I'm still curious.. is there any way to figure out what these devices are?

Here's what I can pull that might help.
Class Icon: setupapi.dll -18
Safe removal required: False
Enumerator: PCI
Physical Device Object Name: Device\NTPNP_PCI0023
Local Information: PCI bus 4, device 0, function 1

The other device is similar except the object name is PCI0024 instead of PCI0023, and function 2 rather than function 1.
PS: I did search the forums and find driver details for a Sony, but I'm not about to put Sony drivers in my Toshiba.

I use w10 on 3 devices, a mid range gaming PC, linx7 tablet, and lumia640. On the whole the experience is pretty good, syncing works well, reminders, alarms, contacts etc. This was one of the reasons I opted for android early, using chrome on a PC gave a similar, yet skimmed down, one OS feel.
I've not had one BSOD since updating the 'rig', my mobile works great, and the tablet is amazing for ?49! I was talking to my father in law who uses all 3 main OSs every day, and we both agree that windows just feels more 'grown up' than iOS or android. He wants a win10 phone next to replace his android (he'll have to keep the company iPhone4).
So like I said, does anyone else have a similar experience?

I want to use the audio simultaneously from my ati 4550 HDMI, Sony blue-tooth speaker via usb BT dongle, 3.5mm jacks on my mobo, and also from a spdif and digital coax linked to the mobo via on board header to expansion bracket with ports.

I know this all may sound like overkill, however I don't have the funds for high end switches / replicators, etc. So manually changing them has been a hassle.

I have done some reading and I know se7en doesn't let you. I did this with xp x64.

Anyone know of a "work-around" or hack to enable all devices at once?
