A: base system device drivers needed

You can go to your manufacturers site and download any and all updated drivers. I think you will find your base system driver to be your Ricoh card reader. I'll check on the other. Also are their any prefix letters or numbers after V6000 as they list several. Seems only Vista drivers are avavible which can be installed in compatibiity mode. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...200953&lang=en compatiblity mode Compatibility Mode Let me edit this and say try just the chipset and card reader drivers first. Also just so you know when you post about a specific issue, you can usualy scroll down to the bottom of the thread and see simular issues and if and how they were resolved for futher problems. Good luck . please post back Fabe

A:hp Pavilion dv9000 base system device drivers needed

Welcome to seven forums Pablo24k: Your base system device drivers are either a Ricoh or Texas Instruments card reader and the other possibly an Alps or synaptics touch pad driver.Try going to the HP web site and installing the drivers in those categories. If Vista is only available Use it in compatibility mode Compatibility Mode Please post back Thanks Fabe Ok on the site they are synaptics touhj pad and Ricoh card reader Vista only http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...roduct=1842189 Of course unless your model # is followed by one of the many different versions like CTO.ea, t CTO, z CTO. I only checked with the first dv9000 C T O Hope this will help.

Hi there,

I have an HP Pavilion DV7 2185dx laptop running a freshly installed windows 7 upgrade from windows Vista. Ever since the upgrade my CPU is constantly running at 98-100% all the time meaning I cannot do anything on my PC. After researching a bit online it could possibly be the driver errors I see in device manager?

In device manager I see that I have some drivers missing and all attempts to update these have failed and i've seen other users here post the missing drivers and be directed to the fixes.

A:Base System Device Drivers

Hi,

I have a sony VGN-FW36GJ laptop pre-installed with vista home premium 64 bit which is now upgraded to windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.

Before doing clean install I checked sony.com for updated support and drivers download. Apparently, after complete installation everything seems alright except 'Base system Device' error.

Am unable to fix it though it's not causing any malfunction but error mark is shown in device manager.

Please help if you have any idea

cheers

I have a Toshiba laptop that was experiencing numerous problems so I decided to format and reinstall everything. Except this time instead of using the restore CDs I put Windows7 in without all the bundled software that came with the original "out of the box" state. WOW! It runs so much faster and smoother now...feels twice as fast when I first got it! Except oddly there are two devices labeled as "Base System Device" that won't install drivers. I don't notice anything wrong with the the laptop but I'm still curious.. is there any way to figure out what these devices are?

Here's what I can pull that might help.
Class Icon: setupapi.dll -18
Safe removal required: False
Enumerator: PCI
Physical Device Object Name: Device\NTPNP_PCI0023
Local Information: PCI bus 4, device 0, function 1

The other device is similar except the object name is PCI0024 instead of PCI0023, and function 2 rather than function 1.
PS: I did search the forums and find driver details for a Sony, but I'm not about to put Sony drivers in my Toshiba.

Hi All,

Looking in Device MGR I have two 'base system devices that need attention. They are not identified as to what they are only PCI Bus 7 device 5 function 3 & PCI bus 7 device 5 function 2. I have no idea where to start with this? Anybody?

Win 7 Prem Home 32 bit SP1
Intel 5500 @ 1.66ghz
2GB ram
NVIDIA geoforce 7600

Last night - everything ran fine. Read newspaper online & watch TV on separate monitor. Everything closed down without issue.

A:No Display & base system device drivers missing on my HP DV9000 laptop

Some laptops have the option of outputting the display signal to LCD, VGA or Both.
I'm not sure that you have those options, but it's worth checking out in the BIOS.
There's also the possibility that your LCD backlight may have gone out and needs to be replaced.

My HDD crashed and I didn't back up my drivers, I got all of them from the lenovo support site for my Lenovo Y570 and still remains "Base System Device" drivers. I've tried the Lenovo Update scan thing and searching google for people with similar problems, I came up with nothing.

So I ask here, what are these drivers? Where can I find them?

Pic below is device manager; in properties it states location as PCI Bus 10 (I have no idea what this means or if its relevant)

I can't notice anything wrong with my Laptop as it is now, everything works (I haven't tried gaming, except I can no longer scroll with my touchpad, the sides used to allow me to but now the whole area of the pad is touch to click)

Thanks for your help in advance would be a huge help if you could help me work this out.

Computer runs slow sometimes, has since the install. I don't think I've ever seen the yellow triangles before, but I may have never looked at the device manager ... the computer is a secondary machine in the house.

My question is, do these indicate a performance problem or can I ignore them and assume the computer is working as best it can?

Does the installed OS a 32 or 64-bit architecture? It is likely that the Base system device driver that is missing is the media card reader. Check in the Device Manager to see if there is one installed or not. Your notebook has either a JMicron or an Alcor Micro media card reader.  You can try installing the Windows 8.1 version of the driver in compatibility mode. Use the driver that is present in the driver download  section of the support portal for your notebook. Welcome to seven forums hostalla: At the bottom of this page and any page with similar issues you'll find threads on that issue. Most of the times it is a card reader driver or Richo or Alps touchpad driver. So go to HP site and find your laptop and download drivers for these 2 items(* if not 7 Vista will work in compatibility mode) and it should resolve your issue. Or you can go to device manager>click on the item>click properties>details tab>drop down menu>hardware id and copy and paste the code and we can find the driver for you. Also read the threads with the check mark on them below for more information.Compatibility Mode Good luck Fabe

When I double click on it the device status says: The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) The device type is Other devices. The manufacturer is Unknown. And the location says PCI bus 2, device 1, function 3
Does anyone know where can I download the driver for this device please.

Hi: I do not believe there are Vista or W7 drivers for that card reader. You'll have to try the XP driver from your PC's support and driver page. Try manually installing it if the auto install method doesn't work. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-29677-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=228&product=442914&sw_lang=

In device manager under 'other' there is a yellow Based System Device. I try to update it and it gives me a error "no driver found". I got to dell and download the Richo chipset. I try to insta1l and I get this this error, "You have to run the 64bit version DPInst.exe on this machine."

So I put one and one together I believe this is causing the Based System Device error.

What do I do?

A:base system device

So you have installed the 64Bit version of the drivers?

Can you provide details of the step 3, in this tut.

I'm having a lot of issues with my HP Pavilion dv7 -2173d.  The video goes black after only about five minutes despite the settings being set for 2 hours.  We might have that fixed, but now I have "Base System Device" showing up in Device Manager as not being the right driver for this system.  Also my DVD drive either won't show up at all or plays my DVD at hyper speed so it sounds like everyone is on helium.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Amy

I succesfully installed Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

Only one device in devicemanager has no driver, or is not functioning correct.

Does someone has a suggestion how to solve this?

Thanks in advance!

A:Base System Device no driver

Wouldn't worry about it and just disable it.

Unless you actually know what it does and want the functionality. In this case, right click it in the device manager, properties, details tab, change dropdown to hardware ids. Copy and paste what you see to here.

Hi guys,

I have had to reformat one of the machines here at work. After getting everything installed I found under the device manager that there is an exclamation mark next to a "Base System Device driver".
I've been searching the web but I'm getting conflicting answers as to what to do.

The machine is a Sony VPCJ128FG running Win7 Ultimate.

Thanks,

A:Base System Device - Samsung R70

Did the machine come with an installation CD?

After you install and update 7, you need to then install your chipset drivers, sound drivers, video card drivers, and then DirectX updates. You can find these all at Samsung's web site: Support for NP-R70 SAMSUNG
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...cd92a3&pf=true

The issue you face is that the machine doesn't officially support Windows 7 and so you must use the corresponding Vista driver.

Did you install the 32 or 64-bit version of 7?

After the install, the system tell me the installation was no succesfull and should try again.
After the second attempt, the system tell me that the driver is for Vista OS.

This was tried many time with no difference.
Contacted Vaio (US/Canada) and Microsoft Techies - NO difference.

A:Solved: What is Base System Device

In the device manager click on update driver where theres yellow question marks and sometimes it will install the correct driver needed. if not try the dell website and look under support drivers and downloads for the drivers needed for that model of computer. if you type in the service tag it will give you the exact ones needed for that computer.

As soon as I startup my computer it begins to popup an Install New Hardware Wizard. I have nothing plugged into any of the ports on my laptop nor have I modified or added to its hardware. Once the window comes up it makes my computer very slow to continue starting up. If i click cancel, it comes back again. Once I click cancel several times it pops up at the bottom right that my new base hardware device driver has not been properly installed and will not function properly. It takes at least 20 minutes to for all of this to happen. This has been happening for several weeks. I have not installed any new programs and I have researched each item in the autorun startup file to ensure I don't have anything out of whack starting up with my computer and have found nothing. Everything is up to date as well.

I have tried to look under the device manager to make sure there were no drivers not functioning. Nothing has an exclamation point. Under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers there are 3 drivers listed as Base System Device. When I click them it brings up the new hardware wizard again. Under properties it says it is for PC Bus3 device 1 function 1, 3, & 4. I don't know what these are for so I don't know if I should try to update the driver or disable or unistall or if it has somehow been infected?

Check the properties of the device in Device Manager and look for the hardware id...it will look something like this: ACPI\INTC0102 Post that and we can give you a definitive answer.   Base System Device is almost always a card reader of some sort. Try these: Ricoh Card Reader All your drivers There is an essential system update for Windows 7 you should definitely install. The missing devices after the Win7 upgrade are also likely to be proprietary HP devices like QuickLook.

Hello to all.

Since more than a month that I am trying to solve problem with my USB ports. First on Windows XP SP3 and now on Vista 64x. Both had the same problems.

Computer recognizes various stuff, like external dvd recorder, printer, mp3, some small USB Pendrives player but doesn't recognize most important for me: Digital Camera (Canon 40d), Video camera (Sony Z1, hdv), and Acer USB pen drive (4GB) and external hard disc (200GB)
When I plug in cardreader, it tells me that it would work faster on Hi-Speed USB port, so at the end it works as USB 1.0 what is strange cause all USB ports should be 2.0.

I installed, reinstalled and tried million things on both systems and nothing changed... Even one more problem appeared in Device Manager: Base System Device (4 times) when I pluged it in for the first time my external hard disc (200 GB)

The problem appeared when I bought it (a friend of my armed it for me):

MSI Motherboard, P7n Diamond

System Bios Date : 07/17/08

4GB RAM (OCZ NVIDIA EDITION DDR2 1066MHz)
video card: SAPPHIRE ATI HD 3450 512MB DDR2

Hi,

I hope someone will be able to help. I read two other threads similar to my problems but they didn't help me unfortunately.

Recently I installed a Vista on my Laptop and I had issues with my drivers not been installed. I managed to google the missing drivers- all is working well expect for 'Other Devices' under the Device Manager.

I tried allowing windows to automatically search on the web for drivers but it kept failing and saying unknown.

I tried uninstalling the 3 drivers but then I keep getting a box asking about installing new drivers.

This is how my Device Manager looks- the 3 unknown devices are in yellow.

I have tried all the downloading devices possible but nothing is helping. Any ideas?

Seems to happen often. The error code is 28. I know I've seen a few threads pertaining to this particular error code but none of the laptops listed that I have seen are the Lenovo 3000 N200 Model number 0769 laptop that I have, and I would very much like some help with figuring out what driver I need to download. Thank you for your time.

Edit: First Error ID:PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_382C17AA&REV_0A\4&2C1F2748&0&33F0

Hi, Alvin: The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the W10 drivers for those devices... Try manually installing from the device in the device manager and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file if the auto install doesn't work.   The files will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp#####, where ##### is the file name of the driver. PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1577: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=8693774&swItemId=ob_161921_1&swEnvOid=419... USB\VID_8087&PID_0A2B: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=8693774&swItemId=ob_161126_1&swEnvOid=419... PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13B1: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=8693774&swItemId=ob_159804_1&swEnvOid=419...

Rosebud72490, welcome to the Seven Forums.

I would start with going here,

Model Content Page

for the display driver. According to the specs for that model Toshiba you need the ATI driver.

For the "base system", at a guess I would say that they are likely the card reader and possibly the touchpad (or fingerprint reader if it came with one; guessing on this one due to there being a download for it). Can tell you for sure if you could provide the vendor and device ID's,

I upgraded my T430 (2342-CTO) from Windows 7 x64 to Windows 8 x64.  By "upgrade", however, I mean I clean installed. I grabbed all the drivers from Lenovo's download page, but one device is unknown.  It appears in Device Manager as "Base System Device". Its hardware ID is: PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_E822&SUBSYS_21F317AA After some careful Googling, I found this is the SD card reader.  So, I downloaded g1s808ww.exe, installed it, rebooted, and it still was showing up as an unknown "Base System Device". I opened the INF file from the driver (C:\DRIVERS\WIN\multicard\Driver\risdxc.inf), and noticed that my device was not in this file. The file contains: [Ricoh]%R5U822Desc%=R5U822_Inst,PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_E823[Ricoh.ntamd64]%R5U822Desc%=R5U822_Inst.ntamd64,PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_E823 But, my device is E822, not E823. Did Lenovo post the wrong driver?  Where can I get the correct one?  Google just gives shady "driver download" sites that I do not trust.

I just formatted my Dell Inspiron 640m and installed all the appropriate drivers from the Dell website. However, i've still got 3 "Base System Device" errors with exclamation points on them. Done some reading which points to the chipset driver but i've installed that few times with no luck. I've intalled windows XP Pro on it and found all drivers but those for the Base System Device. I've read that it could be the LAN driver but no luck there. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone, if you could help me i?d be very grateful.
I have an old HP Pavilion zv5000. I formatted it after it crashed hard on me, and as I didn?t have reboot discs I pieced the drivers together from what I found on the internet.
There was no sound. I went to the HP site and downloaded pretty much everything they had. After a long hard struggle I managed to reinstall the Broadcam wireless drivers which is pretty useful to me as I am stuck in a hostel abroad with minimal wifi signal. However, now whenever I try a webpage I get the old ?this page can not be found? message. Also, the computer seems to be running hot and very loud, and will shut down completely on quite a regular basis.
I blame this ?wmsncs.exe? thing that is popping up all over my HijackThis log. Try as I might, I can?t get rid of it. Any suggestions?
Anyway, back to the sound. Just before I left home to go abroad I noticed that the audio suddenly worked again. However, unpacking at the other end, the same old problem is back. In ?Sounds/Audio Devices? the device is shaded in gray, and it says there is no device. I found Soundmax somewhere and that seems to be on the computer but will not start.
The error code I get for Realtek AC?97 audio drivers is a ?code 10?, even after deleting/reinstalling/restarted etc. I get the computer searching for plug and play devices, it seems to find them, then after a few minutes it tells me that there was a problem and that my new hardware may not work properly.

I am missing three drivers in my device manager. They are listed under other drivers and when I look at the properties there is no information given as to what its for. The first two say base system device and the third one says coprocessor. None of them can be updated from the manager because it cannot find the drivers online. I believe the first two have to do with nvidea but everytime I try to download the driver it does not work. I have no idea if I am even on the right path. This is the last issue I am having from my windows 7 upgrade and would really appreciate any assistance.

A:Missing Base System Device and Coprocessor for HP Pavillion

Hello again. The base system device drivers refer to Ricoh card reader drivers, the coprocessor drivers are part of the chipset drivers.

Go to the HP support page, let it detect your model, it'll then show a page containing links to the drivers for your model. Download and install the ones I mentioned above. While you are at it, download the other drivers as well to take care of future problems.

Laptop = Satellite Pro A300

In my device manager I have two errors.

Under 'Other devices', both say 'Base System Device'
Under Hardware Ids, the first one says:

PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_FF1C1179&REV_12
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_FF1C1179
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&CC_088000
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&CC_0880

The second one says:
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_FF1C1179&REV_12
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_FF1C1179
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_088000
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_0880

I believe it has something to do with my card reader.
Can anybody direct me to the right web site to use the drivers?

A:Base System Device error for my Satellite Pro A300

Here is a nice page:
http://www.pcidatabase.com/

You can search for details of PCI devices.
VEN means Vendor
DEV means Device

VEN 1180 = Ricoh
DEV 0592 = Ricoh Memory Stick Controller

So the case is clear: it?s card reader controller.

I recommend reinstalling the driver.

Now in case you have any other issues please fill in your system specs it will help a lot.
