Just deleted an email by accident, now I cant find it?

Q: Just deleted an email by accident, now I cant find it?

I just deleted an email in Outlook 2007 by accident & now I cant find it in any of my trash folders?

But for some reason it doesnt look like my trash folders are synced up with my godaddy account?

But I looked for the email on the godaddy server & it wasnt in my inbox on their cloud mail client either?

A: Just deleted an email by accident, now I cant find it?

I don't know anything about godaddy, but do they have a spam folder? Chances are that it isn't there either, otherwise your client wouldn't have received it. Do you have the client set to leave the messages on godaddy? If so, either the client or godaddy is haywire. If in neither place, I would say that it is gone, unless you use a file recovery program to search for it.

Hello, I recently purchased Dell XPS 8700 that came with a 2tb harddive formatted with GPT. The computer came with Windows 8, and I wanted to downgrade to Windows 7. However the windows installer wouldn't install on any of the current partitions, so I deleted every partition with gParted and proceeded to install Windows 7 successfully onto the one giant partition. Since I deleted all the GPT partition information (Idiotically), I am unable to make more partitions and dual boot.

So my questions are: Is my harddrive as of right now in MBR or GPT? And how would I add the GPT partitions back, as in the primary and secondary GPT headers?

Edit: I am attempting to dual boot with Xubuntu 14.04 and Windows 7 Professional, both 64bit and the computer has the UEFI, I think. Am I better off using MBR or GPT to dual boot? I only want two OS's and a shared data partition.

A:Deleted all the GPT Partitions by accident

Deleting all GPT partitions is a recommended step to downgrade "Windows 8" as "Windows 7" is known to not much liking GPT based UEFI boot mode. Although "Win 7" 64 bit edition may boot from a GPT disk, i prefer MBR partitioning especially in case of dual booting with Linux. The only mistake you made here is not to partition the disk at the time of install. Fortunately you can split the single large "C" partition to two or three small partitions with the help of "Partition Wizard" free edition.
Download link : Best Free Partition Manager Freeware and free partition magic for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP 32 bit & 64 bit. MiniTool Free Partition Manager Software Home Edition.
What you need to do is first shrink/resize "C" and create one or more new partitions using the free space.

I have a 2TB external hard drive and a 1TB external hard drive.
I got a new 2TB internal hard drive and was installing Windows on it.
On the screen where it showed the connected drives, I stupidly forgot the 2 external drives were still connected. I thought somehow it was breaking up the new 2TB internal drive into 3 separate partitions. I clicked on the two external drives and deleted the partitions because I thought it would merge them. I DID NOT format luckily.
I am in the middle of running the Analyzer using TestDisk on the 2TB external. Since it is a 2TB hard drive, it is analyzing about 10% of the disk per day. So I guess it will take 10 days to finish. Small price to pay if I can recover all the data on these drives. One has all our home movies and photos and the other has all our scanned documents in PDF format. Sigh.
I am wondering if I am doing this the right way with TestDisk? Is there a faster way? When I deleted the partitions, the process took less than a second. The drives were partitioned to used 100% of the drive space. I read the page TestDisk Step By Step but still not sure if there isn't an easier way for my particular blunder. Nothing should be corrupted. Just deleted.
Thank you!

A:Deleted Partitions By Accident Please Help

Yes it should be faster. I thought there were two levels to the restore deleted partitions and only the deeper level involves scanning the surface for old deleted partitions.

There is a backup copy in C:\Windows\System32\dllcache

most of the time it is compressed in this folder.

Here is a copy of it from my XP installation (uncompressed)
See attached
You will need a XP install CD and use recovery environment to copy the file to the proper place, or use an Ubuntu boot CD to do it.

Here is an article on using a Ubuntu CD to copy data off an unbootable windows PC, one could also use it to copy a file to a Windows folder.

Hey Guys I screwed up as follows:

I was fooling around with my graphics drivers and accidentally deleted them. A screen popped up to reboot the computer. It rebooted.

Now whenever I restart my computer, first a microsoft screen appears, then it appears to load but I have no on-screen visual as i get a monitor error message (Not Optimum Mode, Recommended 1920x1200, 60Hz), I am therefore unable to download and install any updated drivers.

What Can I do to restore my Drivers or at least get a visual to Re-install them?

I'm running Windows Vista, and one of the newer NVidia Graphics Cards.

A:Deleted Graphics Drivers By Accident

I believe you'd need to boot into safe mode in order to get the resolution down, or at least that's the easiest way I can think of. Boot into safe mode and allow as much as possible, try installing your drivers from there.

Ok, so i deleted the 'desktop' folder by accident from the My Documents window (or just above my documents folder)...

Now the 'Desktop icon' at the top of the folder list shows a different set of shortcuts/folders (incl. RecycleBin, Network etc etc)... the now 'yellow' desktop folder that is under the 'user' is messed up.

I've attached 2 screen shots because i'm sure my explanation is poor. Anyway, this is driving me crazy - can't figure it out. I've been messing around with it for hours - at one point i had 'desktop' with about 15 'desktop' subfolders......

The best place to start would be to visit the dell support site, navigate to your product page and see if you can download the latest drivers from there. Reinstalling from your recovery drive would probably overwrite a lot of files that you want to keep.

Hi toybird

Sorry for the delay in getting a reply to you (been busy). Any luck yet finding a solution?

If not, try these for a quick repair
1) System Restore
2) Uninstall StyleXP
3) Run a Registry Cleaner (CCleaner is effective).
4) Reinstall StypeXP

. . . and anytime you have unexpected system behavior, run some malware scans to rule out unexpected visitors causing havor with your system files.
_____________

To try System Restore:
1) Boot your computer into Safe Mode (start tapping the F8 key as the computer is starting up, and select "Safe Mode" from the Boot Menu).
2) Logon as "Administrator".
3) Click on Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore, and select a restore point from before trouble started.

Try CCleaner to clean up
1) You can download CCleaner here --- http://www.download.com/CCleaner/300...-10315544.html
2) Run the "Cleaner" functions to clean up temp files & other accumulating unnecessary files. Then run the "Issues" functions to clear up problems in the Registry. Run the "Issues" functions until CCleaner reports "no issues found."

Best of luck

I accidently deleted the Administrator file and need to know how to get it back where the Owner file is. I moved the file from the Recycle bin by click and hold and moved to desktop. I know I should have restored. Now it has the desktop as its routing (I can't think what else to call it). I can now log on if the error message that says "microsoft cannot log on" stays on the screen long enough to click OK. If the screen does not stay the computer trys to boot up (I guess) but will not do anything until the screen times out and I press a key; than the "microsoft cannot log on" error message will come up and I click OK. Than a screen appears that shows the Owner and I click on it and every thing works all right. I would apprciate any help. Let me know if I need to explain more.

Guys I took a hard drive out of a macbook pro and placed it into a external enclosure. I connected it to my pc running vista and I was copying the files from the macbook pro onto my pc and by accident I hit the delete button.

The folder that I deleted is still in the recycle bin, well at least I can see it but the size of it is over 2 gb. I tried to just restore it but that is not working. Thing is I do not need the entire folder just maybe 100 mb of some files that are inside which is just pdf and documents. Any idea on what I can do? I have tried several different types of software and most will not work because I am guessing the macbook pro hard drive is a raw drive.

When trying to reformat the inspiron I accidently used the xps recovery and reformat disk to try to reinstall everything on the insiron. Does anyone know how I would go about checking internet history if it has been deleted from view/history menu, recycle bin and also temp files? Is it stored anywhere else on the hard drive?

Any (easy to follow) advice that doesnt involve downloading any software would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

A:How do I find deleted history?

Nope, it is stored in one location and when you clear it, it rewrites the index.dat file for the folders when you restart your computer and if you open your browser, the new stuff is stored where the old stuff was thus permanently overwriting it so that it is all gone.

Now if you have a firewall it may have a log of sites visited if it was configured to log such activity.
What firewall do you have? Do you have logging enabled?

I am running xp pro. I have a workgroup set up at home and on one of my desktop computers is a shared folder called POSTOFFICE. In this folder I have 5 gigs of school stuff saved. I did a clean install of xp pro on my laptop and I wanted to copy all my files over from POSTOFFICE to my laptop. So I created a shortcut of the shared folder POSTOFFICE on my laptop desktop and then copied the folder out of POSTOFFICE to my laptop's desktop as well. The files I copied was named backup. So on my laptop's desktop I have a shared folder now named POSTOFFICE and another folder named "backup" I didn't want the folder that I just copied over from POSTOFFICE to my laptop in the POSTOFFICE anymore since it would be taking up the 5 gigs on the computer sharing the POSTOFFICE folder. So I went into POSTOFFICE and right-click deleted the folder named backup. But the problem is the folder named "backup" that I had copied from POSTOFFICE to my laptop's desktop dissapeared as well. I looked in the recycle bin on both computers, my laptop and the one sharing the POSTOFFICE folder and nothing was there to restore. I also searched for the "backup" file on both with no resualts. Does anyone know what happend. If so I would so very greatly appreciated your help. I NEED these files back. Thanks to any and all.

When I returned the screen was scrolling in what I'll call dos mode and stating "critical error deleting file. I pulled the plug in panic before I saw what was being deleted and from what drive. I removed the second drive and rebooted no problem. Is there a log that shows what files were being deleted?

A:How do I find what files were deleted?

Depends on what was deleting the file. If it was your anti-virus then there may be a record. Otherwise, probbably not.

Using a Compaq Presario 7470 with 98se. While running AdAware program, it notified me one of my files had a virus. Given the option to delete, I did- thinking I could replace it with an uncorrupted one from my backups. Problem is, it's nowhere to be found and happens to be one in my start-up registry. It's called "netserv.exe". Is there anywhere I can download this from to replace the deleted file? Microsoft, C-Net, and Compaq have been no help.

On my computer, I know there are lots of files which I have deleted in the past. I don't know where their "remnants" are located, but I understand they can be located and un-deleted by professionals. From now on, in the future whenever I delete something and I want it gone forever, I am going to use permanent file eraser software. But for right now, I need a way to permanently erase any information on this computer which comes from a file that has already been deleted in the past. I don't know where those files are on the hard drive.

I also definitely don't want to reformat the computer mainly because I don't have the discs for that.

Hi,
I'm having a problem locating deleted files and wonder if anyone can help.

Windows XP Home Edition, Version 5.1.2600, service pack 3 build 2600.

My daughter had be transfering files from my PC to her own PC using a 16 GB USB memory stick.

I discovered that she had put the whole contents of the "My Documents" folder in the recycle bin I restored the folders and, initially, all seemed well. However, when I looked in the "My Pictures" folder I found that it only contained the standard Windows sample pictures and 10 years+ worth of digital pictures had disappeared! I checked the memory stick and her PC but could not locate any of my pictures.

I then downloaded and ran Brian Kato's freeware "restoration" program. This failed to find any of my pictures on my PC's hard dive, my daughters PC or the memory stick.

I had backed up the contents of "My Documents" onto a remote hard drive three days before the disaster happened so should be able to recover any files stored up to that date, However, since then I had been spending 3 or 4 hours a night re-working the pictures from a wedding that I covered and (foolishly) had not backed the re-worked images up. It will take a lot of time and effort to have to re-work the photographs.

Could anyone advise as to how I might find and recover the deleted images?

Thanks in anticipation
Graham

Can you tell me how to get it back ....I am computer stupid ....obviously and don't know much about the registry or anything else technical.

A:Deleted email

if using outlook express then your deleted items dont go to the recycle bin they go to a folder in outlook express called deleted items .
first of all open outlook express and look in the left hand side of the screen their is a list of options (LOCAL FOLDERS ,INBOX,OUTBOXDELETED ITEMS,ECT!) go to the deleted item link and their they should be unless you have deleted them recently from their best of luck hope this helps you out .

In order to free up some space and possibly give my PC a little more energy, I

periodically clean up by email in Outlook Express by deleting, but of course I believe that this is now stored in the local folders, . . have I created an advantage by deleting this mail, and would you know what effect it has now that it is in the local folders ?

A:Deleted Email in O.E.

You are correct that deleted mail is stored in a local folder. In order to delete the deleted mail you will need to compact Outlook Express. I realize you did not mention being asked to compact OE but the info below is valid. This article Why You Should Let Outlook Express Compact Messages When It Asks You explains explain exactly what compacting messages is, and why you may be seeing that message. It's possible that you don't have a lot of kept mail; however, OE stores messages within a database, which tends to grow in size and degrade the perfomance of OE. Even previously deleted messages that are removed from OE take up space in that database. Compacting your folders will REMOVE all the records that you have deleted. It may simply be a case of to many so called deleted messages are sitting somewhere on your computer, taking up drive space. This is explained in more detail in the section "What Does Compacting Messages Mean, and What Happens?"To manually compact OE:Open Outlook Express.Click on the "File" menu in the Outlook Express window and then click on "Folder."Click on the "Compact All Folders" option. The compacting process will start.

Hello,

I ran ComboFix 9-17-10 to eliminate browser redirect issues and was successful.

Sometime either before, during, or after, I lost some emails. When Trying to open Outlook it could not find the file at C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst.

After checking my directories, I discovered the Users\UserName folder was gone. Fortunately, I had backed up my system on the 9th so the lost was not that great although there were some important emails there that I am trying to recover if at all possible.

I read the ComboFix.txt and do not see where the file had been deleted or repaired if I am reading it correctly. I am still searching for the location of this directory, but have not been able to locate it yet. Does ComboFix create a backup file of the files it deletes?

Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.

Is there something else I can do at this point?

Thank you.

A:ComboFix Help To Find Lost or Deleted Files

Hi -

Only the Security Forum can help with ComboFix. I suggest that you proceed to the Security Center, Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help Forum, to have your system reviewed by a Security Analyst. Be be sure to follow THESE STEPS carefully before posting your logs in the Security Forum.

Please be patient as the Security Analysts are very busy and one will get to you as soon as possible.

You can do this from This PC.

If it is there, via This PC, navigate to it then Open it and see if it works. If yes then the path environment variable may be messed up. Enter path from the command prompt and see what it shows.

A:User Profile Deleted : but how do I find the old emails ?

if they deleted the profile it normally deletes the files as well

It is possible that they told it to leave files behind, in which case look in

C:\Documents and Settings\user name \Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{lots of lletters & numbers }\Microsoft\Outlook Express

otherwise you are stuffed and they ain't retreivable

that will contain all the dbx files that can then be moved or saved to a new location & used with OE again to retreive the emails

Welcome to Seven Forums.

First place I'd try is type msconfig into the start menu search bar and hit enter. On the startup tab, look for the program. If there, uncheck it and hit OK. If not there, check Start menu/all programs/startup. If there is a shortcut there, delete it. If nothing in either place, we can dig a bit deeper.

Hope this helps.

I accidentally deleted my IDT sound driver for my HP Pavilion G7 laptop. I was going through the programs that I wanted to uninstall and came across the sound driver. Not knowing that it was an important part of my computer, I deleted it. I've tried downloading it again from the internet, but the file isn't working either. My computer is on Windows 8.1 if that helps.

A:Accidentally deleted my IDT sound driver and can't find it

If you just deleted the driver, then reinstalling would work. Apparently more than the driver was deleted.

Rebooting, if no vendor driver was found, Windows will install the generic, basic function, HD Audio Codec.

If that is not installing there are more problems than just the sound, and whatever you uninstalled/deleted must have caused it. if you have a System Restore point that is BEFORE whatever you did, that MAY get you back working. Otherwise, with the OS compromised to the point no sound driver will install it may take a complete reinstall.

When I open an email message on my PC, the message disappears from the inbox of my iPhone 4S and also from the inbox folder of my web email account. If not I do not think you can get it back.

If you are then do the following:

Highlight the deleted items folder. Click Tools>recover deleted items. Alist of emails should appear. Find your email and highlight it. Right click and choose restore or click the restore button. It should return to your deleted items folder.

Is this a trojan attaching itself to my email addresses or not...how do i rid my address book of this?

I run my Dell XPS 17 in live performance using multiple midi devices. I had a problem of the midi ports available being filled do to doubled up instances and had to go into the registry to clean out the copied instances.
I have done that before; but, this time I accidentally deleted the primary midi driver
(midi REG_SZ wdmaud.drv)
Where can I find this driver to replace the one deleted?

Hi John.

Changing the registry key doesn't delete the actual driver. You can just manually put the registry key back. (if you remember what it was). You can also do a system restore to a point before you changed the registry.

Good luck!

I was clearing out old saved emails in Outlook Express 6 when I accidentally deleted the very important files I was tyring to made easier to find. I have looked in the recycle bin - not there, I have ran a system restore did not help - Has anyone a suggestion other than suicide in getting those deleted back

Hope someone can help.

A:Deleted saved email Folder

Hi dg8

Download the Outlook Express Extraction tool:
http://macallan.club.fr/index.htm

If the store folder in Outlook Express has not been compacted, you may be able to recover messages from the Deleted Items.dbx file.

Be sure to enable Show Hidden Files and Folders

Open My Computer,
Tools > Folder Options > View tab,
under Hidden Files and Folders, verify Show Hidden Files and Folders is selected.
Remove the check mark for Hide Extensions for known file types.
Apply, OK to save and close.

Let us know if you are successful or not.
