Q: Update to BIOS caused HDMI Port to stop working

This morning HP Support Assistant offered 4 updates.I updated the Notebook System BIOS (Softpaq number: SP73290 Version F.21Ap1) and the HDMI port for the second display stopped working. When I tried to update the NVIDIA High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver (Softpaq number: SP72727 Version: 10.18.13.5384Ap15) that installation failed. Please help me restore the HDMI port.

A: Update to BIOS caused HDMI Port to stop working

Hi @DougMin?,Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 15-ae109na Notebook and issues with updates. You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook. When performing a System restore please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices as they can cause issues. You could try using the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool to fix any updates that have not come through for Windows. Please restart the Notebook twice to make sure all update have been completed! Please let me know how this goes. You can say thanks for trying to help by clicking the Thumbs Up below!.Thanks.

However when i'm on port one and i turn the ps4 on port one stops working. it works up until that point and it didn't do this with my xbox260 where the ps4 is now. and to get port one to work again i have to unplug the ps4 hdmi cord and then change from hdmi 1 to a random channel and then back to hsmi 1 for it to show up again

After installing the firmware updated marked Softpaq number: SP75152, Version F.35Ap1 now four of our laptops (13" ENVY and 14" ENVY) have a non-functioning HDMI port. External screens report 'no signal'.  We've spent a lot of time with HP support (via Hong Kong we ended up in India). Remote Control sessions. All a waste of time. The BIOS update is faulty, no system restore can fix this. Even still today (13 JUN 2016) one of our laptops automatically installed this BIOS update with the HP Support Assistant, and killed the HDMI port. A. Is there a way to acquire and install the previous BIOS? B. When can we expect a new BIOS update? C. How the hell did this BIOS update get past testing??? --> 4 out of 4 updated laptops have a broken HDMI port. We have 7 other laptops left that are fortunately not updated.

A:BIOS Update F.35Ap1 kills HDMI port on ENVY laptop

I too did the BIOS upgrade to my ENVY 12t-d0000 which caused my HDMI to stop working.  After several hours with HP chat support and some sort of bios update, I'm still w/out a working HDMI.  I have been expecting an ecalation case manager to contact me, but it's been 40 hours so far (was promised to be contacted w/in 48 hours).  At this point, even though I've been a loyal HP customer for years, I'm VERY FRUSTRATED. Any suggestions on what I can try next?

After an automatic update to my HP pavilion laptop computer, all of my word files are now saved in Word 2007 instead of Word 2010. I used the restore point and the problem disappeared. As soon as the update (identified as a critical update) occurred, the problem resumed. The update seems to have wiped out my Word 2010 program.

After updating the BIOS to the latest June version, the HDMI output just stopped working. I tried connecting the cable to the display via DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, and it works, so that problem is not in my cable and not in my display. Trying to connect the HDMI to the display and using Picture in Picture I can see that the display doesn't detect any HDMI displays.  Resetting the CMOS doesn't help. Any ideas?

Hi all,

I've just recently got myself a new laptop (specs at bottom of message) and took it around a friends house and plugged it into their HD TV via HDMI - all worked well, the laptop recognised the TV straight away, optimized the display and away we went.

A few days go by and I decided to upgrade my own TV from an SD to an HD TV (Bush BLED24FHDL8) yeah I know cheap as chips, but it's going alright so far ... well except this problem pmsl.

Within 5 mins of setting up the TV channels I decided to plug my HDMI cable into the laptop and then into HDMI 1 slot on the back of the TV, I changed the input of the TV to HDMI 1 and.... nothing.

Going into the display settings of my laptop didn't show a 2nd display, so I changed various settings trying to get it to recognise the tv, but nothing, still no signal showing on the TV, and nothing showing on the laptop.

So I changed over the cable to the HDMI 2 slot on the TV etc and still nothing on the laptop, I fiddled with the settings again and still couldn't get the laptop to recognise there was a 2nd display, nor get any signal on the TV.

As a last resort I unplugged the HDMI cable and tried the VGA cable I have - and this decided to work, although no sound as I didn't have those cables plugged in.

When I plugged the VGA cable in, the TV and laptop recognised each other straight away and I didn't have to do another thing.

But I've still got this HDMI problem --- I've even gone out this a... Read more

Hi,
I recently unplugged my HDMI cable from my gpu (980ti), once I plugged it back in, the monitor didn't detect any signal. My computer can't find any other monitor, only my main display. Already tried to switch between HDMI cable but still nothing. the HDMI port itself still looks pristine. I don't know why it isn't detecting the second monitor anymore.

HI All

I have moved to Windows 7 from Vista, finally

Computer - HP 8710w, Intel Centrino vPro, Nvidia Quadro

I connected my HDMI cable to TV Hdmi port and PC Hdmi port but no signal on TV at all. With Vista it was plug and play (just needed to adjust audio settings on PC).

I have tried downloading updated drivers but to no avail. While connected pressing the Fn key and F4 hey does nothing, the computer has no idea that something is in that port. I think the port is somehow inactive or physically damaged.

How may i check to see if the port is working and how do i check if its software related?

Many thanks
Z

Are you running more then one monitor at a time? If you are then you need to right click on your desktop and select "Screen Resolution". Then find the TV on the display device drop-down menu. Then check the box "Make this my Main Display".

Let me know if that works, if not I can help troubleshoot the problem some more.

Hi guys, new here. I recently purchased a used HP Pavilion G4 from a friend and tried to plug it into the TV using e HDMI port. When I plug in the HDMI port the computer doesn't say or even recognize that there is a cord plugged into it. The tv also shows no signal. I think it is a driver issue, that a driver isn't installed on the computer. But I have no idea what driver to install. Any suggestions?

The monitor sees that I have plugged in something in the HDMI port, but doesn't receive any signal from my laptop.Would you please advise if there is any solution to this specific situation? Also, be advised that even with the latest video driver downloaded from your website, I am still unable to play on OpenGL video mode. I am looking forward to your reply.  Many thanks in advance,

Will not display on any monitor. Tried multiple different monitors. Updated all the drivers, from Intel, NVIDIA, and HP. Nothing works. Funny thing is that NVIDIA recognizes the monitor, name, make, and resolution. But no where can I find NIVIDIA recognizing the built in display on this computer. Intel recognizes the built in monitor, but doesnt see the external monitor. In the NIVIDIA contorl panel under system topology it details the HDMI port, its connected. So I got my IT people involved. They couldnt figure it out either. They tried everything. They believe that since NVIDIA sees the external monitor, but "Multiple Display Cloning" is "Disabled" (Unable to enable it) that NVIDIA doesnt recognize the built in display, it thinks the built in display is the monitor. When the external monitor HDMI is unplugged, the NVIDIA control panel clears out as if no monitor exists at all. This is a brand new HP zBook that I have had for a couple months. Been fighting this issue ever since. Desperate to get my monitor working I recently went and purchased a VGA to DVI converter and DVI to HDMI converter. That doesnt work either. I feel defeated, crushed by an HDMI port.

I tried connecting my PC to the TV using HDMI cable, it works while booting, works if I boot with Ubunto, but disconnects if I boot with Windows 7, it shows the "Starting Windows" message but it disconnects once it's about to show the user's log on page.

What's the problem out there? I'll appreciate any help.

Hi Gang,

I brought this GT-610 Galaxy video card with 1gb ram on Ebay a few months ago. It was brand new. It worked fine until one day I had to unplug the HDMI cord that lead to the TV (using clone view). After I did this and plugged it back in there was no more picture on the TV. It had been working fine. The cord shows up as being listed on the TV as HDMI 2 but when I look for it on the PC I see nothing. I used to see LG TV. Not it is no longer listed.

I have tried rebooting, turning PC off, updating drivers, reinstalling the drivers and taking the card out and and putting it back in. Nothing works. What do I do?

I recently bought an HP Envy m7, and I setup an external monitor. I recently had a BIOS update, which I think broke the HDMI port. I connected the port to a projecter, and it still does not get any input through the HDMI. I've tried multiple cables, and none of them work. My monitor I'm using is an LG IPS Flatron monitor. When I plug in the HDMI, it tells me it's not receiving anything to diplay. I've used Windows Key + P to switch it to extend mode, but it doesn't work.

I have a Dell Inspiron 720 with an HDMI port in the back. I have been using it with my Samsung TV to watch movies on. Now it no longer works. I ordered a new cable but it keeps telling me to check power supply, cable connection, and the make sure it's on the right setting. I have 2 hdmi ports on the back of my TV but still come up with the same error condition when I switch them. It appears the port in the computer is not working anymore. I have tried everything but nothing works. I am running an ATI 4200 which is on the motherboard. Can this be fixed or would I have to buy a new graphics card to get it working again. I did swap the cables but still get the same results. Does anyone have any ideas because I have run out of them???

A:HDMI Port not working anymore

The only way to fix it is to buy a new motherboard, do yourself a favor and buy a new video card instead, Dells are not worth fixing. But if it`s under warranty well then that is a different story.

If that`s a laptop then your ONLY option is to replace the motherboard, very simple to do.

EVGA - Products - Graphics

MSI USA - Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

What keeps telling you to check the power supply ???

My HDMI port quit working after upgrading to Windows 10. The VGA port works fine. I have triend many of the fixes for listed for this issue for upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8/8.1. Here's whay I've done so far... 1) Downloaded the most recent drivers for my Intel(R) Graphics Card. Outcome: It said the drivers installed were newer than the driver I was installing. Tried anyway, didn't work. 2) Uninstalled the driver and let windows update it.Outcome: Black screen, then it restarted and installed the same driver it had before. 3) Tried installing the Windows 7 Driver for my Intel(R) Graphics Card. Outcome: Black screen, then it restarted and installed the same driver it had before. 4) At this point I tried the last resort. Hello,

Is there a driver for the HDMI port for the Satellite R830?
It no longer connects to a TV.

I have tried different TV's but still nothing.
Also there is no HDMI under the device manager under the control panel, should there be?

Many thanks for any help or advice.

A:Satellite R830 - HDMI port is not working

Hi
I don?t know what Windows system you use on this notebook but the HDMI driver isn?t available since the HDMI port driver is part of the system and should be recognized automatically.

For HDMI sound capability you should install the right sound driver and should enable this in control panel -> sound -> playback device

In order the HDMI (digital out) would not be listed there, right click and choose:
show disabled devices, show hidden devices.

Usually the HDMI connection isn?t very tricky. Everything should run automatically.
Connect both devices using HDMI cable.
Power up the TV, then computer.
Now use the function key (FN key) video output combination in order to switch to video out (HDMI).

Note: the right HDMI channel should be chosen on your TV

That?s all

Just unboxed my computer from CyberpowerPC, GTX 720 graphics card, installed/updated all drivers with drivereasy (paid for just now) and I am still having the issue with HDMI port not working. I have tried to plug into a monitor and a TV, neither are working, I have also tried to use multiple HDMI cables, still does not work. My monitor has an auto-switch source availability and turned on, when I plug my computer into the monitor with HDMI it continually cycles, finds no signal and goes into sleep mode. Then rinse/repeats until I either turn off the computer, monitor or just unplug the monitor from the computer. Currently I am using a DVI(computer) to HDMI (tv) and its working fine. So I know its the port on the computer. Do I need to contact CyberpowerPC to send the computer back to get this issue resolved? Thank you for the help.

Does the PC also have an integrated graphics processor (IGP) on the motherboard and the GTX 720 graphics card is an upgrade? If so, there might be a bios setting that will disable the IGP and use the graphics card instead.

Also, right click on the start icon, then click on device manager. Click on display adapters. Is the GTX 720 listed as the display adapter?

Hi and welcome
You need to go into event viewer. type eventvwr in search. go to the windows log>application tab. You need to look for critical errors (the have red in the left hand column) that say app hang, app crash, etc.

When you find them use the snipping tool (type snipping in search) to make a screenshot of it
to upload it you use the attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip) on the reply form.

Hello,
I inadvertently browsed to an unknown website using Chrome.  A few pop-up boxes were blocked and then ESET was shut down - a dialog box came up saying that ESET had crashed, or something like that. I was prompted if I wanted to send a report back to ESET. I wasn't sure if this was a real warning, or if it was a fake popup from a website.  I sort of panicked, and closed all the windows I could and disconnected from the internet (pulled my ethernet cable). I then restarted ESET and ran a full scan. Nothing came up.

In my rush, I think there was also a box that noted something about a temp file somewhere.  Again, I was just closing all of the warning and pop ups as fast as I could. There were maybe 7.

Anyways, I haven't noticed any problems yet, but the above events are very suspicious, especially with ESET shutting down. I'm wondering what other precautions I could take at this point to make sure my PC is not infected.  The PC is running Windows 8.

thanks

I can do basic internet searches and watch videos and flash programs but I've been playing an online game called combat arms for about a month and all of the sudden one day I got an error message that said:
"A problem has caused the program to stop working"
Then I bought Civilization V and installed it and it installed with no problems but when I go to play it the same same message popped up. I've looked through a bunch of forums and noticed this has happened quite often but nothing anybody told other people has worked.
What is wrong and how do I fix it?

A:A problem caused the program to stop working

Go to the Action Center-Maintenance-View Reliability History, look to see if you can find any reports of it in the graph, click on it, view the technical details, and see if it gives you any info on why it happened. Or look in the Event Viewer. Control Panel-Admin Tools-Event Viewer.

I wasn't sure if this was the best subfolder to post this in.

Something happened on one of my users computers, Microsoft XPS Document Writer seems to have gone off the deepend. Whenever we try to print to it, we do not get the dialog box asking us where to save it, and if we try to print a test page from the Devices and Printers, printer properties, we get the the error message that XPS Has Caused Windows Explorer To Stop Working.

I tried uninstalling the device and readding it, to no success. I have no idea where to go from here, short of reinstalling the OS, and that is a reality I am hoping to avoid.

The computer in question is running Windows 7 Profession 64 bit.

What is QMP and why are you using it? I sounds like the kind of dodgy player that sneaks viruses onto the PC. I would only use WMP, QT, or for codecs they won't play use VLC open-source. These are the most highly regarded players.

When you say you've reinstalled repeatedly, how close did you come to a perfect install which is the same as for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 Did you boot the installer to delete all partitions during install, the most basic step to getting a clean reinstall? If you're reinstall didn't measure up to the one in the link I'd redo it and stick with the tools and methods which work written there which work best for Win7,.

The monitor is never recognized. However, the mini-display port will work with a miniDP to DVI or miniDP to VGA adapter cable (I verfied this at a store where there were multiple cables and monitors to use).

miniDP to HDMI: does not work
miniDP to DVI: works

I have a lenovo b570e laptop and am running Windows 8.1.

I recently bought a new monitor (ASUS ve248h) to use as a dual monitor along side my own laptop however upon connecting the HDMI cable with the monitor it doesn't appear to work. I have tried updating the drivers and the hdmi port does work while I am connecting to my LG tv using the hdmi port. I have used various cables including the one that connects it to the tv however so far without success.

I am a bit clueless as to why it would work with the tv and not the monitor also my brothers laptop (which has Ubuntu) does successfully connect to the monitor.

Any help would be much appreciated and Thanks in Advanced

Hi everyone I hope you can help me with this really frustrating problem.

About 6months ago I bought a new P.C with Vista Home Premium 32-bit preinstalled. It has worked fine but in the last few days I have finally gained access to the internet only to discover that I can't seem to install or download correctly.

For example I downloaded both the latest firefox and safari setup files but when I try to run them I get the following message instantly:

Now I have trawled google and other forums for a long time but can't seem to find a solution to the problem. I have set dep to allow these programs to run, and also disabled dep entirely but neither of these seems to work even though I have recieved dep realted error messages.

I have also tried running the programs as an administrator, and disabled windows defender, avg anti-virus and windows firewall. None of these solutions seem to work and there doesnt seem to be any other ideas anywhere else on the internet.

I also seem to have a problem downloading from IE7, when I click a download link a lot of the time either nothing happens or I see a window pop up and there disapear straight away, this is also very frustrating.

My P.C has the following spec:

Intel Pentium E2160 Dual Core Processor @ 3.0GHz
Asus P5K Motherboard
nVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB Graphics Card
2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 Memory

I will forever greatful if you can give me some advice, thanks a lot!

Hello and Welcome to TSF

The Firefox crashes article has some information and things to try.

Run the System File Checker
Click Start/ All Programs/ Accessories
Right click on the Command Prompt option, on the drop down menu which appears, click on the Run as Administrator option
If you haven?t disabled User Account Control (and you shouldn?t!) you will be asked for authorisation. Click the Continue button if you are the administrator or insert the administrator password.

Start the System File Checker

In the Command Prompt window, type: sfc /scannow, press Enter
You?ll see ?the system scan will begin?.

The scan may take some time and windows will repair/replace any corrupt or missing files. You will be asked to insert your Vista DVD if it?s needed.

Close the Command Prompt Window when the job is finished.

One caveat: you need a Windows CD or DVD to enable SFC to make repairs.

Hi guys,

I just got a new Windows 7 computer today and spent the afternoon getting it set up. The first thing I did was to get it hooked up to the Internet. I purchased a TRENDnet usb wireless internet adapter model TEW-648UB. I fired it up by installing the utility and drivers by CD and it worked great for a few hours. I proceeded to download updates for the computer until the Internet suddenly stopped working. I couldnt even get the utility to open anymore. Here is what I've tried so far:

I have reinstalled the utility several times, same thing, can't open the utility after installing.

I have also uninstalled my Bitdefender antivirus and tried reinstalling and opening the utility, still didn't work.

I'm totally out of ideas other than doing a system restore and remove the updates until it works. But I would like to avoid removing updates if I can. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I need to get this thing up and going!

Thanks in advance for any help!

A:Windows 7 caused wireless USB adapter to stop working

I Realize that this is an old post, but the cause of this problem is one of the updates that was done after installing Windows 7. Although I'm not sure which update it is, I've had this happen on two computers after installing Win7 , Where the Wireless network card works just fine on Wi-Fi and then stopped after updates. Each time I rolled back the updates and The wireless adapter worked again after that.

In short, after installing a new version of Windows 7, you should only install a few updates at a time so you can isolate which update is causing the wireless network card to stop working. Unfortunately, I've been too lazy to isolate which one it was.

Hi Everyone - I am experiencing issues with my Logitech H540 Headset, specifically the microphone not the playback (audio) since the last Windows updates. The headset is enabled, set as the default device, for both playback and recording devices but won't recognise anything when i speak into it - as if its on mute.

Things I have done:
1. checked that its not on Mute, volume is up
2. enabled device
3. set as default device
4. uninstalled USB ports - via the Universal thingy
5. checked for updates - Windows and Logitech updates
6. uninstalled the headset
7. checked that the headset works in another USB - it does on my partner's MacBook
8. reset my computer by switching off and holding the power and up volume buttons for 15 seconds
9. unplugged my computer from the power socket and switched off and on
10. Checked that the headset is compatible with Windows 10; and

what does it say in event viewer? Type eventvwr in search. go to the windows log>application tab. Look for critical errors (they have red in the left column) . Look for errors that have app hang, or app crash, etc in them.

When you find them let us know the event ID and source codes.

I was having problems with Windows Themes and aero not working, and finally fixed that by updating drivers. The themes problem is fixed but now I cannot display my laptop on my TV through the HDMI port. Any ideas?

Update: When I push the connect button, the screen goes black like it always does when first connecting, and then I get the pop up saying I'm not using the resolution for the clone displays configurations, like it used to do before the update. I've tried rebooting, and also disconnected and connected the hdmi cable from my adaptor and still nothing.

A:A problem with your video hardware caused Windows to stop working

O I forgot to mention I was running Aero when it happened and basically a few second later Windows said something to the effect of Windows Recovered from an error. Just wondering would I have to update my video drivers or something ?

What usually causes this sort of error ?

I recently installed a new graphics card into my PC (Nvidia Zotac Geforce 210), and used the CD that came with the card to install the new graphics drivers.

The installation went fine, but upon start up the internet no longer worked. My theory is that the driver installation must have deleted the drivers for my internet.

I tried several times to download and install new drivers, but have had no such luck.

My computer:

AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 4200
2.21 Ghz, 1 Gb ram
Windows XP Home Edition, 32 bit

There were two ethernet ports before I tried installing new drivers. I know one was disabled, but the ethernet was connected through one of the two:

Nvidia nForce Networking Controller 2
Nvidia 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet

I tried installing drivers for both of those, but neither worked.

Can anyone help me out? I really don't want to have to take this into a shop.

Thanks!

Hi !

I have a new laptop (Asus K52JK ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Notebooks - K52JK ) and I have installed Windows 7 ultimate.
the problem is that it freezes for some seconds, then it resumes and displays the following message: There was a problem with the video card but it was solved correctly. (or something like that). and it keeps going on as if nothing had happened.

The events manager says:
A problem with your video hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly.

I tried installing the drivers that came with the computer
I have tried updating the drivers to the latest from ATI webpage.
I have reinstalled windows and the drivers for the ATI 5000 series.
I have reinstalled windows and the drivers for the ATI 4000 series.
I have tried all that with Windows ultimate 64 bit and then x86 too.

And it keeps doing it.
It?s completely random. It happened while using InDesing or while running a game or just using explorer. I have played Call of duty modern warefare 2 for more than an hour and it didn?t happen at all. another day I started the game and it happened twice in the menu screen (without even starting a game).
It also gives me some random red pixels anywhere on the screen, if you move the cursor it disapears, it?s completely odd.

I don?t know what else to do.

Also, I can?t install win XP cos it gives me an error during installation and I don?t know why.

I have attached the 3 temporal dump files in case it may help.

A friend of mine has the same computer. I hav... Read more

You should probably bring it to the attention of Asus. It is possible the hardware is faulty.

I've configured my outlook 2003 to send and receive mails from my hotmail account. This has worked for some time but yesterday I accidently attempted to send a large file and it got stuck in my outbox. I deleted the mail by right clicking on it but now I am unable to send or receive mails in outlook. I've restarted my pc but still no joy. I receive a message when i open up outlook saying it's not connected to MSN (or something similar). When I click send and receive nothing happens. Can anyone please help?

Thanks

A:Sending a large mail caused my outlook 2003 to stop working

Hi shreevek

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Do you have your Hotmail Personal Folders set as the default delivery location?
In Outlook 2003,
Tools > E-mail Accounts > View or change existing e-mail accounts > Next
At the bottom of the E-mail Accounts window look for the Deliver new e-mail to the following location
The Personal Folders that appears in the box is the default delivery location.
Click the drop down arrow to see if there are any additional Personal Folders available.

If the Hotmail Personal Folders appears as the default delivery location and you have another Personal Folders in the drop down field, select a different Personal Folders as the default delivery location.
Click: Finish
Close and restart Outlook 2003.
Try a Send/Receive

If the Send/Receive still fails to work, verify the message is not still in the Outbox - verify a view is not hiding it.
Are any error messages appearing during the Send/Receive?

If that fails, try creating a new Profile for Outlook 2003, and recreate your Hotmail account settings.
Close Outlook 2003 and create a new Profile,
Control Panel > Mail Icon > Show Profiles > Add
Recreate your e-mail account.
Start Outlook 2003 with the new Profile and test Send/Receive

After reading a few threads, i am very impressed with the attitude and help from all of the people on this site, hopefully you can clear up my issue also -

Last week my computer got two serious trojans, bit defender picked them up as Trojan horse Generic13.ATPH and Trojan horse Generic13.BQVV

Internet explorer started running strangly google etc search results took me to blank pages, but my favourite sites loaded ok, then bit defender wouldnt open.. so i d/l AVG - this detected the threat but couldnt remove it, then i could no-longer d/l anything from the internet, All of my system restore points had vanished, after talking to the IT guys at work, they suggested i try starting in safe mode, however, this just froze the system.

So, frustrated, i did a full destructive system restore, from the discs i burned when i first set up the PC. after this, vista started fine, i installed all of the windows updates and IE was running fine, however, when i tried to view photos from the second hard drive on the PC, AVG and windows defender went mental.. worried I formatted this secondary hard drive and yet again did a full system restore from disc..

Now AVG isnt picking anything up, IE is running sound, but the computer seems a bit slow and images on websites do not seem as clear as they used to be, i've tried updating the drivers for the intergrated graphics card, radeon X1200, but this seems to make no difference.

My windows experience index seems to be lower than befo... Read more

I have Lenovo Z70-80 laptop which had BIOS version ABCN32WW. I've decided to upgrade BIOS to the latest version (ABCN96WW) and the upgrade procedure went without problems. However, as soon as the restarted I've noticed it doesn't output anything on my external monitor connected via HDMI until it boots to Windows after which I get the picture on the monitor. I've tried to downgrade BIOS version to the oldest available version (ABCN73WW) but I still don't get HDMI output. At this point I'd just like to downgrade to the original BIOS version ABCN32WW but I can't find any downloadable file to do so and currently I'm stuck with no HDMI output until laptop gets booted to Windows which is really frustrating. Any help or suggestion would be highly appreciated.

I just installed the R01 A3 BIOS update from Acer, and now my HDMI port's audio no longer works. Has anyone else had this problem / know of a solution. Also, if anyone else has an X1200 that they haven't updated yet, would they be willing to make a copy of their BIOS using WinFlash and send it to me so I can downgrade? Acer insists the only way to fix my computer is to mail it to Texas, which I would like to avoid if at all possible.

A:Acer X1200 BIOS update - Broken HDMI Audio

Are there any yellow or red flags in the Device Manager?

I would mail the computer. I think Acer knows somethings about this model that you do not, and they are not going to tell, for risk it will get into the media.
Let them fix it right, rather than void your warranty.

HAve the above card and its reporting a Bios version of 5.0.39. I have bought a ITB Samsung drive. The drive works in another computer but not the one with this card. I'm guessing that this version of BIOS which is old does not recognise discs of this size. I've downloaded the flashtool "siflashtool" and the latest bios "5403" but when it runs I just get confirmation of the card being there, it does not upgrade the bios.

Any ideas?
