Hi guys, I had a Yoga Pro 2 but I got it replaced by Lenovo under warranty because it was having some major major issues. They sent me a Yoga 900 and I am already noticing problems with its connection to my bluetooth mouse. I used this same bluetooth mouse on my Yoga Pro 2 and it always connected fine without any problems at all but with my Yoga 900 it seems that the mouse will be connected for 5 minutes max and then the Yoga 900 will no longer recognize the mouse. Any help is appreciated, this is very frustrating and I have had been having a lot of problems with Lenovo's devices. Their warranty is great but I am getting tired of so many problems for such expensive machines.

Similar problem here.  Yoga 900 just a couple of months old, and I decided to try a bluetooth mouse.  It connected and worked just fine for a couple of minutes and then stopped.  Windows still says the mouse is paired and connected, but it doesnt work.  Turn bluetooth off, turn mouse off, remove mouse from bluetooth devices, re pair mouse and it works for a couple of minutes and then stops.  Lather, rinse, repeat.  I'm hoping this is a Windows problem and not a Lenovo problem, but if anyone finds a solution I would love to hear it.

Hello guys, I own a Lenovo Yoga 2 11" for two years and I hadn't met a problem with it since then. The last time I used my laptop (3 days ago) I started it with the power button normally and everything worked fine. But today, I tried to start it clicking the power button but it didn't work, tried many times and nothing. Then I clicked the Novo button and it started with the boot menu. The options "Starts Normally", "Boot Menu", "System Recovery" and etc showed up. So, I turned off my laptop and tried to turn it on again with the power button many times, but all of them failed and now it only starts with the Novo button. I would like to know if it is a confuguration problem or its a fisical problem (my power button just gone), or if Lenovo or Microsoft had dropped a update that change it or something else?. Thank you guys.

Hi there, i have some issues with my monitor (awhhh).

It's working fine like 10-20-30 minutes and then it's turning off (for no reason) while the cumputer is running and the flash/button goes pink. I don't know what's this colour stands for. Blue is when the monitor is active, yellow is when the monitor is turn to sleep and when i shut down my computer, but PINK? What's that, anyone?

The monitor is turning OFF, not in a sleep mode or something.
I must remove the cable and push back in every 20 minutes. That's wrong.

Maybe it's the cabel, maybe something with drivers and stuff...i don't know.

HELP!

Hey guys, I'm a PreMed student who's life revolves around his laptop. I'm always on social media, watching some show, listening to music, doing an essay, taking notes, updating some website, or emailing some person on campus. Of course, my old laptop broke. It was a Dell Inspiron. Now, I have a campus job and have been saving money(so money is not factor necessarily). After researching my options, I've narrowed my choices down to the three previously listed laptops. I just want to know which do you guys suggest and why?

A:Surface Book vs Lenovo Yoga 900 vs ThinkPad X1 Yoga

By looking at your requirement, you prefer on-the-go PC that lets you do all that on a decent budget, SP4 is better than SB(if you want lightweight device and decent battery life), Lenovo's are pretty good too. X1 w/o OLED seems to be a better buy in terms of ultraportability and battery life. You could wait for others to chime in.

So three weeks ago, I was working on my Yoga 3 14" and popped to get a drink, I came back and the screen was blank, I assumed it had gone to sleep, so hit a key to wake it up. Nothing! The laptop was plugged in, so I know it hadn't run out of charge. After sheer panic, I contacted Lenovo, who told me that my warranty was out by a month, and that I could send it to them to diagnose, and they would tell me how much to fix, then it was up to me if they did or not.One I wouldn't be happy about not having my laptop for a couple of weeks minimum, but also it had all my private information on.I turned to good old google, and stumbled across this forum, and somebody with the same problem.Their solution was to unscrew the back case of the laptop (as mentioned above, my warranty was already out), remove the battery cable, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and reconnect the battery cable.I did this, and low and behold it worked. Fantastic!Only for it to happen twice more that week, and approx twice a week since. Then yesterday my brother contacts me saying his laptop has died, just won't turn on. His is the Yoga 2 Pro, I told him to bring it to mine, and I would try what I had to do to mine, to his, low and behold, the same solution worked. Seeing as I wasn't the first person to have this issue, and I'm guessing others have used the solution but not commented, this is obviously a fault with the Yoga range. I'm hoping that Lenovo can address this issue, as I fe... My son accidentally got his leg caught in the cord of his laptop when he got up and the laptop  fell approximately 2 feet to the tile floor.  It boots up but stays on the Lenovo splash screen.  If I go into the BIOS and select System Recovery it goes through the "Loading files..." process, the Lenovo splash screen appears with the dots going in a circle but, then after about 2 minutes of that the screen just goes black.  If I tilt the screen forward or back I can tell it is still backlit just with nothing to display.  Anything we can try?

Hello,I'm having trouble since I recieved my LENOVO ThinkPad Yoga 14 two months ago.It is on guarantee.I've noticed that the master fan keeps starting even if the computer is not working at full capacity. Sometimes, it starts right after windows as finished booting! And it's a brand new computer, Intel i7 CPU and 8GO of RAM!The fan keeps working then even if I'm only surfing on the internet or working on word. It's REALLY annoying. I feel like this is already an old computer by it's blowing. My old computer, a 5 years old Toshiba Satellite, doesn't blow so much.I've searched over the web and found that LENOVO had released a new UEFI Bios that was suposed to fix this problem. I've installed it and nothing changed! The fan kept on turning on for nothing else than a gmail home page.I've already asked about another problem on the ThinkPad Yoga 14. It's about a background noise on the built in speakers. Here's the link: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Background-noise-on-ThinkPad-Yoga-14-bu...I'm not having a good experience with this Yoga 14. I was looking for professional quality and it is not.Can someone tell me if they have the same problems? What LENOVO is going to do about it?Thanks.Ludovic.

A:ThinkPad Yoga 14 - The Fan keeps on turning on eve...

Hi ludovicfd Can you please post the full model number of you machine and which Windows version are you using?. For example my TP Yoga 14 is "20DM008UUS" and I didn't experienced those issues.  I'm guessing that your machine fan is blowing too much and making huge noise. In my case I can feel more the hard drive noise than the fan, it is not like the HDD is "that loud", but when you are on a quiet enviroment you can feel it "scrattching". Do you want to try first updating any firmware / BIOS on your machine at the latest level ? After that another alternative will be to try to update the driver for the chipset and power. The basic thing for me is to try to update the drivers and firmware this way:- Windows Update- Lenovo System Update- Lenovo Companionand after that search manually for updates on the Lenovo Support site with your specific model number. Sorry, it is trial and error to see if a driver can fix your issue. If after updating the drivers, you think it is hardware issue you should try to contact Lenovo's Customer Support site Regards

Hi! I got this laptop december 2014, it worked nice until one day it decided not to turn on, instead of this, the laptop shows sleep-mode behaviour (blinking keyboard, black screen) but without waking up. It initiates randomly, key-combination doesn't work, nor pushing windows key. Additionally, if I turn off by pressing the power button and try to turn on again, it keeps to be in sleeping mode. If is turned off again and the one key recovery is pushed, nothing happens, same sleep-mode reaction. I contacted technnical assistance in Spain, they were really kind and quick taking the call. As suggested I restored the system to fabric condicions (when I got my laptop turned on and through the windows 8.1 menu restoring to initial configuration option). It seemed to solve the problem but just for few re-starts. After using the computer about 10 times (I mean, turning off and turning on the laptop), the same problem appeared. I called again technnical assistance, today they are picking up my laptop at home because I'm still warranty covered, I hope to get my 1600? laptop working well again soon. Just wanted to share this situation with other lenovo users who can be in the same situation. In my case, I'm not using this laptop as a primary computer, that's maybe why it took so long to detect/appear this problem. I already tested updating bios, drivers, energy configuration... Nothing worked up to date. I found another person having the same issue (http://community.sp... Read more

I have a ThinkPad Yoga (Type 20CD) that recently began experiencing a major issue. I was using as usual when it gave me the windows 10 blue screen and told me it was restarting. Upon restarting, it was only able to launch to the boot manager, and when I tried to start normally, it noted that my Hard Drive was not found. I figured it was a seating issue, as I've had those before with the cables for the trackpad, so I opened the bottom and reseated the drive. After doing so, the computer will not power back on. When I press the power button, the ThinkPad logo light comes on for around 3-4 seconds, but then dies. No other sound is made, the fans do not come on, and nothing is displayed on screen. I have tried several suggested fixes (holding the power button for 30 seconds while disconnected from AC power, pressing the emergency reset button, etc) but to no avail. Since this is my primary computer for work and school, I am really looking to get this fixed asap, so any solutions I can do myself would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I have an almost 2-year Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Ideapad, and recently I lost the original charger, so I started using an Innergie universal charger which never really worked that well to begin with. Anyway, the other day, I came home from work and plugged it in to charge overnight, and didn't need it until yesterday. When I went to use it yesterday, the only response I could get from it was the light by the power button to turn on, and even then only when it was plugged into the universal charger. I didn't get any other lights - no keyboard lights, just the white light from the power button and constant white charging light with an occasional orange blink.  Then it took a while to get it to turn off. I took it to Best Buy, but the guy at the Geek Squad wasn't very helpful, and I was very reluctant to just send away my computer before I actually knew what the problem was.  I was going to try taking a look inside the computer, but I couldn't get all the screws out because I did not have the proper screwdriver.  Does anyone know what the problem might be or a possible solution? I really can't afford to not have a laptop, and I really can't afford super high repair fees.

Hi.
I have an issue with my Network Settings.  As I try to connect to the internet on the wifi in our marina, the WiFi button turns itself off and I get the message "WiFi Turned Off".  I didn't turn it off.  I go to network settings and turn it on (slider button).  It immediately flicks itself off again.  I didn't do it, it just does it itself.  This really, really, really irritates me.  If I wanted something that made decisions for me I'd buy an Apple.  I don't want it to do anything except what I want it to do.  Using a Realtek adapter.  Had a look at the device settings and though there seem to be 4 copies of this in there, none of them are grayed out and all report that they are working.  Why I need 4 is beyond me, though.

Anyone got any ideas?

If I have a good internet connection, this does not happen.  However, most marinas have garbage internet and this is where it happens.

A:Wifi button keeps turning off by itself

My guess is you have a physical switch for wifi on your laptop that is turned off, which is forcing the software in the laptop to turn off. Also make sure you laptop has power plugged in or atleast is fully charged. If it only happens on battery power, I can show later how to disable power options which might be forcing the wireless to turn off to conserve power. What model laptop do you have?

I have a y40-80. Lenovo sent me a keyboard to replace the bad one (couldn't do it), so I unhooked the keyboard ribbon cable and plugged the new one in to see if that was the problem. I plugged the old ribbon back in. After putting everything back together it won't start up. Nothing will work. I've checked all the connections, reset the CMOS, checked the ram, I've tried many things but nothing has worked so far. When I plug in the AC adapter the light comes on that it is charging but nothing happens. When you plug the battery in you can hear a slight chirp noise coming from  the battery itself.

Hi,

Emergency!

When I start my computer I manually push a button on the monitor to turn the monitor on. This morning when turning on my computer the monitor started clicking as if I were pushing the button on and off. However, even if the monitor indicator light was on the monitor would not display.

It just kept clicking on and off. I shut the sys down, and restarted. Then I pressed the monitor button, and got it to stop clicking and got it come on. But the button is stuck partially, and I am just fortunate that it is working right now.

I haven't made any software changes. I did a lot of dust work on another system, and maybe dust clogged this up. Is there anything I can do, to make the button get unstuck.

The button is the type that you bush up into the frame of the monitor. (it's always been difficult to turn this monitor on and off.) And right now the button is almost all the way pushed up. Normally the button shut be half-way pushed up while in the on position.

Thanks for your help,

yahoos.

A:Monitor button sticking & turning on/off

Sounds like you wore the switch out. Just take it to a TV repair shop. They should be able to replace it no problem. Just a side note most computer users leave the monitor on and let it go into standby mode, to avoid the condition your monitor is in now.

I bought Lenovo Yoga 700 about a month ago from a CompUSA store for my personal use following my early retirement. Before Lenovo, I had Dell which the company provided and upgraded every 3 years. I never had any issue with Dell, nada. As I start using my new Lenovo laptop, I started having problem and nightmares. Minutes from booting up and starting my laptop, the screen would go crazy as if some external force take control over my computer. I could not do anything, literally nothng to stop it other than turning it off. I took back the laptop to CompUSA to return it for refund, but they refused becasue I did not buy insurance. They reffered me to their Geek to check it for me.  It took the Geek four days and $200 to say that a virus found home in my laptop, but don't worry we fixed it for you. Well, believe it or not, I took it home turned it on and guess what, boom same thing, same genie that I encountered before came back to hunt me again. Ofcourse, I took back the laptop to the Geek and ask for refund becasue they have not fixed the problem. Well guess what, they refused but I guess they felt sorry for me and told me that they beleive it is the touch screen that causing this problem and they turned it off and yes it was becasue the probelm was solved.   So, if the IBM gurus know that there is a problem with Lenovo's touch screen, why don't they recall all the ... Hi moonshine1, welcome to the forums.

Can you please share the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga ?

What I recommend is to update the drivers of the machine, specially if you upgraded to Windows 10. That can solve some issues with power and video. There is the System Update utility that can help, but it is also look manually for updated drivers on the support site, because sometimes the utility misses the newer ones.

About the touch screen, there had been some reports of "ghost touches" on the Yoga-3 with LG touchscreen. There is a firmware update for it. But if you have a non LG touch screen and you are having that ghost touches the best way to deal with it will be to open a ticket with Lenovo. If you bought it a month ago it should still be on warranty.

CompUSA is still open somewhere? I didn't know that. I thought it was bought by TigerDirect.

Hey guys, I need to buy a new laptop for college stuff and I am debating which to get, I only offered those 3 because other than them, there is only asus which offers basically the same laptop, without the touch for the same price. Here is a summery for the specs of the models I am looking at:Yoga 900:QHD+ 13.3 " display, either the newer model with 256 PCIE SSD, 540 intel GPU with 8GB of ram, upgradable to 16, and an I5 6260UOr the older model with 520 intel hd, normal 256 ssd, I7 6500U and 8GB soldered.Yoga 710:FHD 14" display, I7\I5 and 256\512 ssd with the new 940MX and 8 GB of ddr4 ram(I am still not sure which model I will pick as I can afford any considering it is cheaper than the yoga 900)I like that the Yoga 710 has a bigger display, though I am not sure how noticeable it will be considering it's 0.7" inches, also it has a much lower resolution.I don't plan on gaming or doing any heavy work on it other than surfing, watching movies and studying so I am not sure where the 940MX and drr4 will come into play. The yoga 900 brings ddr3 and intel graphics but a better screen, a PCIE SSD and an updated I5.My main debates are having a PCIE SSD and whether I should go for a higher res screen or a 14" screen with a little bit more juice, also the 900 has more usb ports and a usb C which is a nice plus.I would love to hear your opinions, thanks!(BTW, the price difference for me is about 250$ when considering the I5 variants)

Upgrades are available but when I click on an upgrade it says my laptop is not qualified to be upgraded. One other thing, is my laptop capable of having a graphics card installed? Bought my son a Lenovo yoga 3 on 15/7/2015 from PC World £800, by 5/8/2015 it stopped working. Took it back on 5/8/2015 and PC World exchanged it no problem. After one year and three week the replacement has stopped working. Sent it back to Lenova who are now demanding £250 to repair it saying it needs a new main board and power supply - what after just a year old - clearly not fit for purpose - they accept it has not been damaged through misuse. I am waiting for a manager call back but I am absolutely appalled at the stance being taken by lenova and unless we get it repaired free of charge I will be taking the matter further. Any one else experienced such problems ?

I bought my Optiplex 9020 mini tower July 2015. It's been used and moved 7 times and on the last move, the power button became unresponsive. When initially plugged in, one Amber blink shows up on the power button, and no more. I've held the button and nothing. However, if I hold the button on the back of the computer on the power supply, while holding it for 30 seconds, the power button works: I can turn on the computer and log in. Everything shows up alive and well.
Dell support sent me a replacement power supply thinking that was the issue. But even after replacing it, the same issue occurs. One Amber blink on the power button when pressed and held. No more. And again, the computer starts when the back power supply button is held for 30 seconds and the front power button is pressed. The power only turns on while the back power supply button is pressed. Is this an error with the power button or the power cable? When on, there are no problems or error messages.
Any help would be great!

Just ordered new parts:

P67 Intel motherboard
550 GTX EVGA gfx card
3,3 ghz sandy bridge quad proc
2 sticks of 4gb ram ddr3

I just used this case yesterday, so i know the cables are fine. Everything is connected, and when i flip the switch on my power supply a green LED does light up on my motherboard.

If you're directly facing the connectors, you put the Power SW at the bottom left, one over because you dont fill the left side. Above it comes the Reset SW, with the HD to the right of it, and the P-/P+ below it (or to the right of the Power SW).

I dont know if somethings up or im missing something obvious.

Then I upgraded it to Windows 10, and a week later the computer completely shut off and would not turn on. There are no lights, no sounds, nothing.

Specs: Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11.6" HD/Core i7-3689Y/4 GB/128 GB All is fine when the machine is on or in sleep mode. The problems start when it shuts down or goes to some deeper hibernation (whatever happens when the machine has been in sleep mode long enough). Then, the machine won't start up anymore, even if the power is connected. After some googling, we decided to try to disconnect the battery. This didn't help (and there was no BIOS update for this particular model) but while disassembling the machine we found out that when the front panel (power button + power light) motherboard connection was detached, the machine powered up. All was again fine until the machine shut down. So the machine can be jump-started by detaching the cable but either the front panel circuit or connection seems to be broken. Any ideas what to do? The following picture illustrates the issue: ?

Hi andefoo ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

WOuld you have the machine number (check on the machine number from the sticker or check it from here ,just keep your serial number confidential) based on the image that it would look more of a Yoga 11s  instead of yoga11  which have different structure specially with the power board.

WIll it turn on if you use the Novo button instead of the power button? If same non powering issue probable point of failure would be both on power cable and board that needs to be check. You can have it sent for repair or if you have the tools and skill to use the hardware manual  (yoga 11s) for the guide along listed is the FRU number if needed ,

Update us how it would work best for you.

I prefer the click approach on the Apple Macbook Air, where you can click anywhere on the trackpad to get a normal (left) click.  On the Yoga 13, you can click anywhere EXCEPT the lower-right side of the button, where it instead registers a right-click.  Thta's kind of annoying because I have to be aware of where on the trackpad I can click and where I can't. Does anyone know of a way to turn off the right-click area and just make the entire trackpad a left-click? I have already turned off the tap-click ability, so I'm just talking about clicks where you press the surface of the trackpad down.

Hello, I have a Yoga 500 14ISK purchased in December 2015. It runs Windows 10. It is failing all over the place. The power up is unreliable. Sometimes it boots, sometimes it doesn't. When it does boot it takes an age. It wont perform a system update of something to do with a "foundation". It merely hangs. And when I tried to check the BIOS I pressed the nova button with a paper-clip and the keyboard lights up but nothing happens. The little white light on the power button is lit but nothing is happening. I have a black screen and nothing else. Is there a major flaw in these laptops? The whole piece of kit looks great but the number of problems with it are unbelievable. How do I get this laptop working properly?

A:Yoga 500 14ISK Nova button does not work

Hi deanol ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The integrity on the One key recovery features upon access thru the Novo key may be the issue.
Best to initially run diagnostics to check further. This may explain why it failed booting at some time.

Have us updated on the results , just write down any error code as this may be needed by tech support for decoding.

Hi, I have had my X1 Yoga for about a month.  From the moment I opened the package, the power button has been unresponsive.  I actually thought the laptop was DOA when I first got it but I kept holding to the power button with increasing pressure for almost a minute before the laptop would fire up the first time. EDIT: To clarify, the button does in fact click, but the laptop shows no recognition of the click. Now I rarely ever power down, but when I have, it has been the same story.Recently, the whole power menu has vanished in my Windows 10 interface, so I have no software buttons to power down or reboot the laptop.  I just go to standby or hibernate when I close the lid (on battery and plugged in, respectively). This is not a huge deal to me, but without the software menu and with an unresponsive hardware Power Button, I can't properly reboot or shutdown my computer.  I know I can hit the reset button at the bottom of the laptop, but the whole point is that I would like to occasionally reboot or just shutdown the laptop properly.

I have had the same problem when it comes to enabling the task bar icons while writing. What i do in this instance is activate an app that will invoke the on screen keyboard. Then, slide the top of it down over the task bar. Essentially this makes it so that nothing can be enabled. Unless of course, the on screen keyboard gets moved. I do have to ask this off topic question. Are you left handed? I ask because I have never invoked the start button with my right hand. As my hand does not move in such a way to invoke it. But, I can see how a left handed user could. Like I said, just an off topic question.  Edit: I just found this. I have not tried it yet.  http://www.startkiller.com There are plenty more search results on this subject.

Hi all,I start to think that getting x1 yoga was the worst laptop purpose I have made the last 10years. However, I am more disappointed in the support you get for a  2000+ equipment! Instead of replacing it, I have to wait for a part to become available and they don't even have an ETA.I wouldn't mind waiting a couple of days to be fixed, but waiting for a part when there is not an ETA is not what I paid for!Less than two months old and my x1 yoga with i7-6600u with SM951 PCIe NVMe SSD died suddenly with only light use! I am getting error "2100 detection error on storage device (m.2)". Reset and repair don not work with an error something like the hard drive is locked. Reinstalling windows do not work as the hard drive cannot be seen, even though I load the NVMe samsung driver. In BIOS the NVMe is detected. Moreover, the diagnostic tests lenovo has, are all green! (haha what great tests they are!)However, before dieing I had the following issue with the security button on the side of the screen. It was working for a couple of seconds but after that, it was loosing functionality and I had to press the frame next to it instead..Specifically, in the attached picture I had to press in the red circle instead of the button. Does anyone else have this problem?I had all the latest drivers/updates and firmware. Many thanks

A:Lenovo Yoga 13 - BSOD

You have a Realtek RTL8723AU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter:

I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win8/8.1 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 and later systems - using older drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have the latest Win8/8.1 drivers - DO NOT use older drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

Lot's of Windows Updates failures in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report. If the problems continue, please post over in the http://www.eightforums.com/windows-updates-activation/ for further expert assistance with this issue.

Both of the memory dumps point to networking issues, one to the wireless and one to a USB device - so it's most likely an issue with the wireless USB adapter. Please remove the adapter and it's software -then test the system to see if that stops the BSOD's. (connect to the internet with a wire, or with a wireless PCI/PCIe card that plugs into a slot on the motherboard).

Please uninstall the Magic Control program as it's driver dates from 2011 and it may not be compatible w/Win8.1

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT... Read more

I don't even know where to start, but Lenovo are very good at making it almost impossible to speak to any kind of human being who can assist with their faulty products....so i'm starting here! I bought my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro in August 2015 with a one year warranty (however, it would seem Lenovo's warranty start date is when they ship it to retailers and not when you actually buy it, but this was the least of my worries, and one issue that I was able to rectify). Within a couple of weeks, 'BOOT DRIVE MISSING/FAILED' started popping up  every now and then, and I would have to turn the power off and on again, and everything would be fine. At the start of September this message came up again, permanently, and dispite numerous attempts at factory resets/restores/boots etc which were suggested by the Medion crew on the tech support helpline, the laptop failed to work. At this point I was working abroad, and had the added hassle of returning it to the UK, to then have it shipped off to Germany for repairs. Dispite the fact that the laptop was only a month old, Lenovo said they could not replace it, only repair it (even though it was clearly a faulty product!?) The retailer I purchased it from also refused to assist, laying blame with the manufacturer. The laptop finally made its way back to me in October, apparently repaired, although you wouldn't know it as there was no information on what work had been done, just the laptop in an otherwise empty box. First error was ?Detection error on SSD (M.2)?, which came right from the beginning.Lenovo Support UK tried reinstall of Windows 10 several times, and in the end they admitted faulty SSD drive, after a long battle with them. They claimed ?Detection error on SSD (M.2)? was software related, and not hardware related ? even though university IT dept said from beginning it was faulty SSD drive. The university IT dept knew this, because they had many Lenovo´s with ?Detection error on SSD (M.2)? In august mousepad stopped working. Lenovo Support Denmark installed new mouse pad, but that didn?t solve problems. Mouse icon is wandering through screen, even though I don?t touch mouse pad. Mouse pad is also marking text, by itself, and sending emails, even though I haven?t pressed send buttom. Hey Guys, I picked up a Yoga 3 just before xmas and its been running well until just recently. I have noticed that if I shut the machine down and then return to it later it will often not turn back on. Pressing the power button will cause the keyboard to light up but nothing else. After a random amount of time and attempts it will turn on. Whilst trying the light on the power button will remain on. I have contacted online support and they want me to post the laptop to Germany for them to take a look but this wil leave me without my work computer for some time. This problem is also random in that it doesnt always happen. I worry they will try a few times and not be able to reproduce the issue and post it back. Any one any idea of what it might be? Hi MoJo2016 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would there also be some noise in the BIOS?
To access BIOS , shut down the pc and use the novo button to turn on (item 3 page 11).
If same noise is head then fans hardware integrity needs to be check and attended to .
Since you have BIOS ver 22 updated , call in tech support for the necessary service for your laptop.

Seems when additional load triggers fan activity as normal but if noise is apparent when this happens , there may be some cables touching it or simply mispositioned fan.

I recently downgraded from Windows 10 to a Windows 7 operating system. When I downgraded I needed to disable secure boot and disable OS Optimized settings in the BIOS in order to boot from the USB drive to install Windows 7. When I reinstalled Windows 7 I did a clean install, put in my Windows 7 Key and installed all the necessary drivers. However, it seems that my USB 3.0 ports are not working. On the flip side, when I plug in my phone or a thumb drive into the USB ports, these devices are recognized in the BIOS. Also, I looked in the device drivers and it seems that my USB drivers are installed. There is, however, an unknown device, which in the details tab reads:IUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F&REV_0021&SID_504C17AAIUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F&REV_0021IUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F Attempted solutions: I tried to reset all BIOS settings back to factory settings but when I did that my OS would not start until I turned secure boot and OS Optimized Settings back off. Also I tried looking for drivers on the website but  could not find any to do with the USB 3.0 ports. Looking forward to any advice anyone can provide in me fixing this issues.

I recently got the Yoga 13, and I love nearly everything about it. The only problem is that I like to hit the right side of the space bar, instead of the center. Though whenever I do that, it doesn't think I hit the spacebar, so I get something like this:This is whathappenswhenIhitthespacebar.Itis reallyannoying. Is there any way I can fix that? I can press it in the center and it's pefectly fine, but I normally hit the right side of the space bar, instead. Thanks

Hi. I am an owner of Lenove yoga home 500.I have to admit that I disapointed from the first day as concern its performance. Apps stoped working instantly without a reason, onscreen keyboard is not responding sometimes, touch screen also(just for a minute) etc....The reason i enter the forum is because now wireless mouse and keyboard stopped working for a third time during two months. I replaced the batteries but didn't solve the problem. Last time I faced the same issue it recovered after 2 or 3 restarts. It is unacceptable for a machine that cost 1.500euros

My Lenovo yoga 900 suddenly stopped charging. I tried using the chargeur of a friend and it still wasn't charging, thus i believe the problem comes from the battery. I've been trying to reach the Lenovo support center in Belgium to make use of the warranty but no one answers the phone nor emails. Does anyone knows a phone number or an email adress I could use to  reach the support in Belgium?

I was standing when my laptop fell out of the laptop case and landed on the corner. There's a small crack/hole along with a dent on that corner, and the inside parts are getting exposed to the surrounding. The screen isn't cracked and the laptop works just fine for now. I was wondering: 1) Will my laptop continue working normally?2) Should I get it repaired, or get a new laptop ?

Hi, I have a few questions about Laptop Lenovo Yoga 900.The first is that the a laptop with a resolution of 3200x1800 takes more battery than as if he was in 1920x1080?The second question is that I am looking browser that consumes the least energy, from what I read that Edge does best but Opera claims of doing better, so I do not know which is better. The third question is how I set the screen resolution to 1920x1080 then the text on the screen is blurry

A:Lenovo Yoga 900 Few Questions

Hi Hisayuki ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Higher resolution is not a significant threat to power as compared to lower resolution on normal usage as full LCD panel is still lit . Higher pixelated displays type needs higher power (HD vs. FHD vs. QHD). In gaming setting higher video setting would requuire more power to be used by the video card . Dimming the brightness would lessen power draw.

About the browsers , features offered by Edge would lead most test and others may claim otherwise but may also depend fairly on the user and the websites visited. Limiting number of open browsers sure would lessen processes therefore less power consumption.

Adjusting to lower resolution manually to what suits your vision can help as other simply use applications to automatically do it .

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards

A:Lenovo Yoga 14 (20 FY) USB 3.0 not working

USB 3.0 wasn't supported back then. Doesn't work with Win 7. You have to stick to the 2.0 ports. Return to the original installed OS or Windows 10 for it to work.

Hi! I recently bought a lenovo Yoga 500 15isk. i have an extra samsung 850 evo SSD and i'm thinking of using it for my laptop. Not sure though if this model accomodates an SSD in addittion to my existing HDD. I can't seem to find information regarding additional HDD on the unit's manual.   Preferrably i do not want to open my laptop on my own, in order to avoid unwanted warranty voiding. Thanks You!

Greetings,  So I bought a Lenovo Yoga 710, 15.6", about two days ago and since the second day (with ~10 hours of use) it began having issues with the wireless connection which will randomly drops and won't let me re-enable giving me no more options than restarting it. After I do so, the same takes a very long time to restart or if the case was to shutdown it will also have the same pattern. The last time it did it and I restarted the laptop a blue screen appeared saying: "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you. (0% complete)If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" I updated the Network adapter driver, but it still keeps randomly dropping the wireless connection. Also everytime I shutdown or restart, a blue screen appears for a few seconds without giving me a chance to read what it says. Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

A:BN Lenovo Yoga 710 15.6" - DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAIL...

I was experiencing some similar issues after a recent Windows update- Upon startup I would briefly see nearby networks, but as soon as I tried to load my browser, the WiFi would disengage and the Wireless adapter would dissapear from my Device Manager. I uninstalled the most recent Windows update (not recomended, but I was troubleshooting potential software issues), turned off as many start-up programs as possible and also began recieving the Power State Failure error.I would recomend that you update your BIOS and then make sure that you've updated all Network Drivers (there may be a couple).Hopefully that fixes the issue for you. Best of luck!
