Attachments not appearing on printed Outlook messages...

Q: Attachments not appearing on printed Outlook messages...

When I print an email from outlook 2000 sometimes my attachements will appear on the print-out and sometimes they don't. I've found that if I have my emails set up in HTML format, then the attacment won't appear, but if the emails are set up in Plain Text format, then the attachment will appear (as an icon) at the top of the message. Is there any way to get the attachements to appear on the HTML formatted messages?

I have had my problem for some time and had a work around which is no longer applicable hence I get a white screen where message should be so I don't know what is being said.

My problem started about 6 or 8 months ago on Outlook Express. At that time I was using dial up and changed over to with their e mail program Total Access. My problem immediately disappeared. One month ago I switched over to High Speed and the person doing the custom install saw I used Outlook Express so he reenergized (non computer word) the program. The custom installer saw my INBOX with about 30+ messages that go back a long way. EACH ONE LINE description was complete, meaning To: xxx,
From: YYY, Subject: ZZZ, and anything else that showns on the ONE LINE.

When I double click on one of the inbox messages I FIND MY PROBLEM! Everything that showed before is shown again, but now greyed out since it has to do with basics. HOWEVER, the text area (where the message should be) is 100% pure white. I have double clicked all 30+ messages and get the same thing,...a pure white screen.

I thought it might have something to do with installing SP-2 on my XP Home Edition BUT SP-2 was installed about 6 months ago and my e mail problem started about 8 months ago.
That is my problem! Can anyone offer suggestions?

A:No Outlook Express Messages Are Printed

Hi George-2

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

So if I understand correctly, you can send and receive emails ok.

The problem lies in that the messages you receive are blank inside?

If you run your mouse over the inside of the message, does anything show up in the highlighted/selected area?

Perhaps your fonts have a white color?

Are you able to create a new message and see the fonts inside?

Let us know.

For some reason nearly all my email in Outlook Express (in Win 2k) comes with the attachment paper clip icon, even tho most of the email has no attachment. Needless to say, I'm a little nervous about attachments anyhow and am reluctant to open email from people I know. I have my provider's (Earthlink) spam filter on and am using AVG's email scanner.

A:Outlook Express displays all messages as having attachments

It sounds like you should be covered then. Earthlink does have good protection even if their service isnt the best.

I have been using Outlook Express 6 for many years without a problem but would like your advice on this problem which has started in the last two days.

When i send a message, the message appears to be sending but i get a dialog box telling me that it has not been sent due to the following error - but with no error listed.

The message then sits in the outbox and seems sometimes to block any further messages that i send from being sent - i use 3 different email accounts and i think that the 'seems sometimes' is because messages sent on another account do go.

Even more mysteriously, the message has in fact been sent - so the poor recipient gets multiple versions every time my outlook does a send and receive before i delete the message from the outbox.

The message does not appear in my sent items folder.

The only thing i can think of that i have done in the last day or two is that i moved a lot of old messages in my inbox to a new folder and compressed that new folder to 'archive' those old messages. Could this have triggered this fault?

What can i do to resolve it as it is very annoying? Thank you for any suggestions

When I reply to a message in Outlook 2010 I am seeing a lot of strange symbols such as "€â," "Internetˇ¦,"ˇ°beˇ± ," "ˇ°bucketsˇ± "and "ˇ°lazyˇ±." It seems that these symbols appear in place of quotation marks and other punctuation. I have done some research on the Internet, and there seems to be a lot of suggestions regarding Outlook and Word, but I haven't found anything that fixes this problem. Thanks for any and all ideas.

It seems that this is happening whenever I send a message to someone with a Korean ISP. When I do send an e-mail to someone with a Korean ISP, in my Outlook "Sent" folder, the above characters appear, including one with a capital "A" with an "^" above the "A" at the end of some sentences after the period. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

I've been having this ongoing issue with one of my client's pc's. I'm almost at the stage of admitting defeat and just rebuilding the machine.

Anyways, the problem is when the client goes to open an email with attached document or file, Outlook Express will be forced to shutdown because of a problem with the file msimn.exe. Now I've tried the fixes outlined in the microsoft knowledge base. These fixes failed to work and consequently lost my clients emails.

I've tried repairing the Iexplorer/Outlook installations, that didn't work.

I've also tried a Windows system repair. Now the system repair seemed to have worked, but when the client then proceeded to download the latest patches and service pack 2 and install them, the problem started reoccuring.

Any thoughts people!? Any insight is much appreciated.

One of our users (out of about 300) is having a problem printing messages from Groupwise. His messages are missing characters. Random characers, randomly spaced. The message views correctly, and even looks correct through through printkey (screen capture program). I uninstalled GW and reinstalled it. No help. I turned off integrations. No help. I turned them back on. No help. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer. No help. I pointed it to another printer. No help. I'm about out of options here! Any ideas?

I have an Access database used on daily basis to enter and print the maintenance work order in a report format. I have assigned a command button to print the required record. On clicking the button in the Form, a parameter query will run asking the user to put the record number to proceed. Once the correct record number is entered in the parameter text box, the report is previewed and the user click on the print button to print the same.

My question is as follows:

Is there any method to find out the record i am going to print now was already printed before? A kind of record keeping for the printed records.

Also, a message box should warn the user saying incase if the record was already printed, “The record was previously printed, do you want to continue printing again?”

Please tell me a way to perform the above in my Form.

I am sure I am not the only one who finds it very annoying that picture attachments are displayed in the message body on incoming mail with winmail, as well as being shown as attachments.
This can make for a very long message and is really a problem when printing the message.
Is there a way to modify settings so that the attachments do not show in the message body (just like outlook did)
If not I am going to ditch winmail and revert to outlook as it did exactly what I wanted it to do not what it wanted.
Right I have been looking at this and the winmail export message facility appears to do nothing. Anyone know how this works if it does>

Everytime I boot my laptop a message appears straight away as soon as I log in everytime telling me not to disconnect my USB (image attached). This has started to become very annoying and was wondering if there was a way of stopping it.

I have tried disabling toast and tile notifications via group policy editor but still it appears.

Thanks a lot

A:Stop these messages appearing

This is just a guess, but you could try it.

If you go into the Device Manager and look at the properties of that drive there is a 'Policies' tab on device removal.
It probably is set for 'Quick Removal'.

If you change it to 'Better Performance' the notification might go away. That tells Windows you will use the 'Safely Remove Hardware' methodology.

Hello everyone

I recently installed Outlook 2010 and I have got the following strange problem and I was wondering
whether anyone else had the same problem and found a solution.

Whenever I print an Outlook email, the pages come out in reverse order (page 2 then page 1) with a blank cover page which sometimes has "Microsoft Outlook - memo style OUTLOOK.EXE" printed
on the middle of it, and a blank sheet between each page of the message.

It only happens with Outlook. Printing is normal with Word, Excel, etc.

Any suggestions, please?

In Outlook please go to File - Print, highlight Memo Style, then click Print Options button above. In a new window Print, hightlight Memo Style again. Click Define Styles... In a new window, make sure that Memo Style is hightlighted and click RESET button.

If this wont help, click Edit button in the same window, and make sure all the parameters make sense and are correct (page size, etc.)

Sometime back, I had a bunch of garbage that came through via programs like Kazaa. After uninstalling Kazaa, I ran Spybot S&D. At some point I also ran HijackThis, and posted the log to this forum for help.

Since that point, I have been getting question marks appearing in various Windows and application messages. For example, when I want to close Paint Shop Pro, and the program asks whether I want to save the picture I've been working on, I get a dialog box with question marks in it, where only the picture name appears in regular characters. This happens in virtually every program I run.

Today, I found myself unable to work with Word, but I couldn't read the error message for the same reason.

Do I need to re-install windows? Does anyone have a suggestion what might be causing the problem and how to fix it?

Before, when I wanted to transfer my .pts file from one computer to another I would just copy the file to a portable hard drive and then transfer the file to the other computer. However, Outlook 2010 is completely different animal. When I go to C:, Users, App Data, etc., new computer, it is completely different from my other computer that had Vista. My question is, how can I transfer my .pts file and/or my address book, calendar, contacts, etc. for my older Windows Vista computer that had Outlook 2007, to my new computer that has Windows 7 and Outlook 2010 installed? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

In the Import And Export wizard, select Import from another program or file option and hit Next

Under File Type, select Outlook Data File(.pst) and hit Next

Now choose the file to import, select the options, and hit Next

Once done, finally select the folder to import from(if you want to import complete data don’t change any settings) and make sure Include subfolders is checked. You can either import the file to the current folder or choose the folder.

Hope this helps!

PC: HP G60 with Vista (32 bit)

I am supposed to be able to send email messages with attachments with a maximum 19 MB limit but I have been getting an error message "This message wasn't delivered because it's too large. The limit is 19 MB. This message is 25 MB." In fact the attachment capacity was 18 MB for that particular email message. I also received similar error messages for attachments on email messages that I sent with 16 and 17 MB.

The messages that did go through without any problem had atachments with 8, 10 and 11 MB.

Does anyone know of a solution to this problem. Otherwise, I will have to divide the attachments to lower the MB capacity in order for them to go through.

Thank you.

I use OE 6 on my desktop running XP pro, but use Outlook 2007 on my laptop running XP home. I cannot receive attachments sent from my Outlook 2007 to my OE 6 when I send it to myself. They are stripped off, not even showing an attachment. The attachment comes through to other recipients as far as I know, INCLUDING my alternate email address (through at&t). So OE 6 receives the attachment when I send it from my default email account to my at&t account, but not when I send it to from and to my default account. I have checked with my email provider, who has checked the server (IMAP) and they do not see any problem--the attachment is on the server. I have already unchecked all potential blocks under the Security Tab--image blocking and attachment blocking--and am operating in the Internet Zone. And, as far as I know, I am receiving attachments from everyone else in the world. I know there are ways to work around this problem, but it is irritating and I have concerns that my email attachments to clients may be unknowingly blocked. Also, I cannot receive those attachments on my Blackberry either.

I work at the helpdesk for a medium sized city government. I have users in a department that are using Outlook Express 6 to receive email on a specific, non-city account off our domain.

There is one particular user that when she sends emails with attachments, they do not go through to the users that are using OE6. Emails go through, just not the attachments. She is sending them from Outlook 2007.

Emails from me to the user with OE6 with attachments go through just fine. It's just from this one particular user who cannot get attachments to go through.

Everything I've read online says that I need to make sure that emails aren't being sent as rich text format, and need to be sent as plain text. I have tried this and the attachments still will not go through for this user. It doesn't seem to be a RTF problem, and appears to be something else. I also haven't found any other possible solution to try.

Can anyone help?

IE and OE are interwoven. First in users IE make sure Internet Security Zone (less secure but more functional is used). Next, in OE>Tools>Options>Security>Virus Protection>Make sure the same allowance was made as in IE, then uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved etc".

Neither Outlook or Outlook express will send emails with attachments. Emails without attachments work fine.

Error message is "server timed out".

A:Solved: Outlook adn Outlook express won't send attachments

Hi smelsco

Is AVG E-mail scanning enabled?

First try adjusting your Server Timeout settings:

In Outlook Express:
Tools > Accounts > Mail tab > (AccountName) > Properties
On the Advanced tab, adjust the Server Timeout settings to at least 2 minutes.
If you still receive the Timeout error, adjust the Server Timeout to 5 minutes.

If the Timeout error persists with the Server Timeout set to 5 minutes, try disabling AVG from checking outgoing emails.

Double click the AVG icon in the System Tray.
Right click the E-mail Scanner component,
Properties > Plugins tab > Configure button
Uncheck: Check outgoing mail
OK, OK to save and close.

Let us know what happens.

I've installed Office 2003 on my PC - all working fine, mail migrated to Outlook etc. However, when I send an attachment from any program (Excel, Word etc) using the File, Send To command (which I have to do, because one is an Access database and so it's an embedded command) it defaults to Outlook Express.

I've tried renaming the msimn.exe file, which merely greyed out all of the options in the Send To box.

Anyone know how I can get them all to look to Outlook?

I mainly use Outlook 2000, however, in order to get a number of Hotmail messages onto my computer's HD, i synchronised Outlook Express with Hotmail. I now have messages from a folder I have on Hotmail on my hard drive too.

A search revealed that this folder (and presumably all messages in it) is stored under C:\Windows\Application Data\Identities\{00B31680-0793-11D3-A398-C0610D677E39}\Microsoft\Outlook Express.

I copied the .dbx file named hotmail - [folder name].dbx to my desktop. I went in to Outlook 2000 file>import blah blah blah, but it wont let me import .dbx files there anyway to get my messages from hotmail from this specific folder into outlook 2000? i no longer need the folder in hotmail and will just delete it as soon as i have a permanent copy on my hard drive in outlook 2000. im assuming that since the dbx file is on my hard disk with all the messages (which i can read offline in outlook express) that i wont need to set up outlook 2000 for hotmail synchronisation ?!?

I'm trying to help a friend open text (txt) attachments in Outlook Express that he receives from people who are apparently sending them via Outlook. When we open them (in Notepad), they contain only some header information. All of these many messages are only about 2 or 3 kb, so, obviously, this is all there is to the received messages. Is there some trick to receiving the whole message? Is the problem in his XP computer, the ISP or the sender's machine? I'm getting nowhere in trying to discern the problem. I'm writing this on a Windows 7 Professional machine with Incredimail; what I learn here must be relayed to his XP.

I'm trying to read the e-mails from my old Windows 98 computer on my current Windows XP computer but I haven't been able to figure out how to successfully do this. The e-mail client on the Windows 98 machine was Outlook Express 6 and the one on my current XP computer is Outlook 2002.

I followed the instructions listed on the Microsoft support site (Article ID: 270670) for backing up the data from Outlook Express which left me with a folder of .dbx files (Inbox.dbx, Drafts.dbx etc) which I then burned onto a CD and transferred over to my XP computer. My problem is that now that I've done that I'm not sure how to get Outlook 2002 to import that folder of .dbx files or recognize it. I googled it but didn't find any helpful results other than links to expensive conversion programs. So could anyone here offer any help on the matter? Thanks in advance.

A:How do I import messages from Outlook Express 6 into Outlook 2002?

Update: I realized that Outlook can't open the .dbx files and that Outlook Express has to export them to Outlook. However, when I tried this it only exported the messages in my "Sent" folder and none of the messages in any of the other folders, including Inbox.dbx which is about 500MB in size so I know the messages are in there. Any advice on what to do next?

When WIN XP atrts up, error reads: "spoolsv.exe - application error - Exception in privileged instructions at location 0x66f46798". Too high tech for me! Bypassing this, I, cannot print any messages (emails) in Outlook Express (or Outlook). Get error:
" Error line 1343" If I DO hit debug a yellow arrow points to a line that starts with a colon. I can probably copy and paste that line here if needed.
Comments: No spyware, no viruses, because of other problems , reverted back to IE6 (from 7).
Please note: Word and Excel docs all print fine. I can copy and paste the email into Word if necessary. Outllook sends and receives normally, it is only the print function failing.
In Add/Remove did a repair on Office 2003, nothing changed. Googled spoolsv.exe and some think it is a virus (I don't).
Another error that came up (once) was simply: "c:\program files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" If this file is missing, can I just copy it from another XP unit here and put it into place without further screwing up the works?
Any help appreciated - if further info needed (like a screen grab of the debug instructions) please advise.

Delete Windows' temporary files using My Computer > (C:\) > right-click > Disk Cleanup and remove all except "Office Setup files" and "Compress old files" (Office setup used to maintain Office, Compress old takes to long).

After this is done on the "Tools" tab in the same area run Scandisk (restart required) followed by Defrag (after at least one complete restart) and see if the error condition clears up.

In Outlook when I used to delete an attachment from an email it still showed the attachment name above the email but with the word 'removed'. Now when I delete an attachment (after saving it to my harddrive) it just dissapears so I have no way of knowing which attachment went with which email.

Is this a feature that I need to turn on somewhere? Or has it been removed from 2003?

In OE that picture below the line shows up if it is an image that is attached. If the image is embedded, it will be within any text that is present. There would be no line involved.

A:Attachments in Outlook

It sounds like your email settings in Outlook are for Rich Text Format. Outlook will use TNEF in that case and non-outlook users cannot understand it.

If you change your default e-mail format to plain text or HTML, it helps to ensure that TNEF is not sent in most cases.

See here for full details.

That would be possible, possibly but that would be a lot of hassle. Why not using outlook send the message to one person that needs the design. Wait go into your sent box and forward to the rest of the people. You may erase who it originally went to and select just the specs you want so that it looked like it went to them. You may also use bcc to appear as Blind Carbon Copy and I believe under these setting everyone receives a copy seeing it as it went only to them. HTH

I use Outlook - not outlook Express because I like the calendar, task list, and other components of Outlook.

I send many photo and document attachments to people seeking ancestor information. Very frequently they reply saying that they received my message, but the attachment is missing from it. (I check and confirm that I did remember to insert the file.)

I have checked with my ISP. They have had me send the offending message and attachment and receive the whole package without a problem. As I indicated, the problem is only with certain people.

Another issue may be part of the problem. When I attach a file to my e-mail message, sometimes the icon appears in the message portion and at other times it will appear in a new line within the header. I have no idea which location will be selected for the icon. I go through the exactly same procedure each time. Sometimes I wonder if the recipient is looking for the attachment in the header and ignores the icon included somewhere within the message.

Any explanation will be greatly appreciated.

A:MS Outlook attachments

I think I may have found a solution to my problem. Most of the solutions that I looked at were case where there was an error message, or cases where the problem applied to All message sent or messages received. My problem was sporadic, some attachments went through successfully and some did not. There seems to be no patterns.

The solution that so far seems to work is that I stopped using MS Word as my text editor. At least there has been no problem with my latest instances.

Here's the scenario:

A user places a shortcut to a frequently used network folder on his desktop. He's composing a new message in Outlook 2002 and wants to attach a file that is within the aformentioned folder. When he browses to the folder on his desktop however he receives an error message indicating "only files or objects can be attahments. (foldername) is a folder and cannot be attached." Now the strange thing here is that I went to another user's workstation, created the same shortcut to the same network share on her desktop and when she selected the folder she was able to browse it's contents and select the desired file to attach.

Any thoughts on what might be the problem here?

Tried Start > Run and issue the following commands and restarting the PC:

Hi, I am new here and am need of some help. When I try to send a web page as an attachment using outlook ( office 2003 also on my pc ) the user receives the web page in "pieces"..e.g. printer2.gif (291B) mail.gif (222B) etc.etc.
Why can the recieptients see the email as the actuall web page. I have even sent the e mail to myself and I get the same problem
I have checked my e mail settings and they seem correct, I am sending the attachment as HTML.
I have sent the same e mail though my ISP & g mail and both send the same results.
Hope u can help.

A:Outlook/Office & Attachments

You have to send HTML code in the e-mail and may have to rewrite the code depending on where the associated files (images, sounds, etc.) are located. This also requires that both you and your recipient have HTML e-mail enabled. It all depends on your ISPs and which programs you're using to send/receive e-mail. MS Outlook & Office tends to do HTML quite well, but it can be a pain to set up.

I tried just copying and pasting from this webpage into Outlook and all the columns and other information were lost, producing a jumbled mess. The best way to send someone a webpage is to just send them the link to the site.

If you really want to send the entire webpage, do this:
1) Open the site in your browser. Make sure the site is completely loaded ("Done.") before continuing.
2) Go to menu: File/Save Page As... and save the page to your desktop. You should get an HTML file and a folder. Do not change the names of these folders/files. (you can also right-click in a clear part of the webpage and select Save Page As... or you can hit Ctrl+S, depending on your browser.)
3. Now close your browser and LOG OFF the Internet. You want to be able to test the webpage without interference from the Internet.
4. Create a new folder on your desktop and call it whatever you want.
5. Move the HTML file and its folder into this new folder.
6. Now open your folder and double click the HTML file and see if everything loads correctly. If so, you can .ZIP your new folder up into a... Read more

Why is it that sometimes I can just click on an attachment and it opens the file, and other times it won't? Even if I right click on the attachment name, and select open file, nothing happens. The file has the .xls or other extension, so Windows 2000 should know that it opens with Excel, right? The only way to fix seems to be to shut all down and reboot. Then it works for a while.

Is this some kinda known bug? Is there a download patch?
My Outlook version is 10.2627.2625 and the OS is Win 2000 professional. (I can't find the version)

You may just need to clean up your PC?
I would try that first.
If that doesn't work, try running Detect and Repair from the Help dropdown in Outlook.

Our office just got switched to outlook 2003. The majority of my job revolves around pictures that are emailed to me but now if they are embedded in the body of the email they come out as b/w. The people who still have lotus notes show them in color.

Anyone know of any way to change that? It usually happens with emails from aol and sbc.

i have sent several e-mails with attachments (pdf, xls). The recipient got them okay and could open them (on w2k & office 2000). But when I went to my "Sent Items" folder, to check on something I had written in one of the attachments, I could not open the atttachment from within the saved e-mail. There is a message in the space where the attachment should be listed which says, "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail..." and then the name of the file "letter.pdf"

How can I get rid of that security feature? Where can it be turned off so that i can read the attachments I sent myself!

I am using windows xp and office xp.

A:Outlook Express (XP) & attachments

if you are using outlook express then tools/option/security and untick do not allow attachments........
OE thinks all attachments are unsafe and blocks them all

My email attachments are in the email text section and not below the subject line. Any ideas on how to change this???

A:Outlook 2007 Attachments

I believe that has more to do with the program you are using to view the email, than the program you are using to send it.

Recently updated to OE 6 via download. Now when my student loan company sends me a notice I can't open the attachment. I get a notice which says "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail:".

This even has locked me out of attachments that I had previously opened and knew were fine.

Any idea why this happened or what I can do about it?

Oh yea, Dell laptop, Win98SE, and the attachments are pdf files.

Thanks in advance

Have you just updated IE6 to the new Service Pack 1? If so, have a look at this:

Hi I have a strange situation arising at an office with about 12 users.
User A sends a group email with an attachment to everyone in the office, the sender and the receivers are all using the same domain, mailservers etc.
User B who uses Outlook Express receives the message with the attachment, user C using MS Outlook 2002 receives the message but not the attachment.
If user B forwards the message to user C they receive the message and the attachment.
So the attachment is somehow blocked at user C but only when sent from user A
Can anyone point me in the direction to identify the problem please

I have the MS Office XP (SP3) product installed, and use Outlook as my primary email support product (not Outlook Express).

There are times when I need to receive files that are in Outlook's prohibited list.

Please help by providing the registry location controlling Outlook's ability to permit restricted file extension types. As a power user, I am aware of the dangers of adjusting the registry.

Thank you for your help.

I know I can create a mail merge in outlook (though have not done it yet!)

What I want to do is create a mail merge that uses names from a file instead of contact list and then attaches a different attachment based on contact name.

Is there a way to do this?

A:Outlook Macro with add attachments?

Hi Lori

When you say "I know I can create a mail merge in outlook" do you really mean you can create a mail merge in Word using your Outlook contacts?

If so, you can use names stored in an excel file instead of the Contacts. You can then build a macro in excel to attach different attachments so long as there is some logic to what attachment will go with which name. The macro can then create and send the mails with attachments automatically.

Hi all,

I have a problem in Outlook 2000.

When saving an attachment to a fileshare a copy of that attachment saves to my D:\ drive in - Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK66

The problem with this is that its filling up my Hard drive. How can I stop this from happening?

A:Outlook Attachments Duplicating

1. It shouldn't be filling up your hard drive unless you're purposely saving them in that file. Otherwise, when you close the file, it should remove itself.

2. Don't OPEN before saving. Just right-click the attachment icon and hit Save as.

ok, from my aol account, i fowarded some emails to another email account. and it looks like outlook made them as attachments. i cant seem to find any option to make it not do that, because i dont wanna receive any fowards as attachments, and dont wanna foward them as attachments either ....

A:outlook and email attachments

In Outlook 2000, go to Tools, Options, Preferences tab, and click E-mail Options. In the 2 boxes under the category "On replies and forwards:" click the downward arrow and select which option you want. You, probably, have it set to "Attach Original message"

However, there is no way to change the way you receive those attachments, that I know of.

I cannot find the answer to my problem anywhere and hope that someone out there can help.

I run both Word and WordPro (in Widows XP home) and use both for their different qualities.

Every single time I download an attachment which has been sent to me in Word, OE opens WordPro and consequently often the text is incomprehensible, especially if there are photos or tables included.

Also, when I send attachments typed in Word, although the recipients can open them without a problem, I am unable to check before sending that they are OK as once again WordPro appears to be the default.

Is there any way (without uninstalling WordPro) that I can make the computer use only Word in OE.

I'd be very grateful for any advice.

We have Outlook XP installed...

Today I had to call my modems tech support to have them send me new drivers via e-mail, because the ones on their site were corrupted. He mailed me the drivers but Outlook XP decided on its own that I didn’t need the drivers, and instead left me this message;

“Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments”

How in the world do I turn this feature off, so that I can receive the drivers that I need and that tech support is trying to send me

I am using outlook 2000sr2 on windows NT 4.

I am getting a variety of message boxes when I open attachments from within Outlook.

"<file name> is being used by <user>. Do you want to make a copy?"

"A document with the name <x> is already open. You cannot open two documents with the same name, even if the documents are
in different folders. To open the second document, either close the document
that's currently open, or rename one of the documents."

This only occurs when I open the attachments directly from Outlook or My

There is no problem when I open up the same files (when unattached/ saved) through Word, Excel, etc

Any ideas/ pointers on this one would be graciously accepted

I have a PC with Office XP. In outlook whenever i try to open an attachment it hangs the program.

I have installed service pack 2 for office XP but it still occurs.

Does anyone know why?

A:Attachments Hanging Outlook XP

Is this happening with EVERY attachment? If not & the attachments are large, then this could be the problem, depending on how many background programs you have running. Outlook also blocks certain file extensions. Could you be more specific please, such as attachment size/type.
