Problem: Mail date/time stamp in Outlook 2003

Q: Problem: Mail date/time stamp in Outlook 2003

This just started.

If I create a new folder in Outlook and move emails there, the date/time stamp of these emails change to the date/time I created the folder.

Doesn't happen when I move them to existing folders though, only new folders.

To see if it's specific to my Outlook, I connected to another on a terminal session and the same problem occurs.

I have spoke to someone who is dependent on sending customers' emails. It is vital that the email dates are correct. I think the problem started when the clocks went ahead.I have instructed them to do all updates for outlook 2003. I verified that the problem is not related to their email host. The date stramps are correct when they send out email usijng webmail. Her computer is free of viruses and spyware and is maintained very well. She did a detect and repair as well. She has Mcafee as her antivirus scanner and no firewalls that I know of.I spoke to her email server and they have not any such issues regarding their server.Maybe someone out there has dealt with thiis before. My hunch is that maybe by upgrading to outlook 2007, this problem would get resolved. She doesn't want to use outlook express, which has it's own problems and is not supported any more.I am clueless to what would be the next step.

A:Outlook 2003 has wrong date stamp

I made sure the time, dsate and region was correct in the control panel and even in the bios. and it was correct.

I have a situation where a new user has managed to set all 2000+ emails in their bosses inbox (in Outlook 2003) to Read - the boss is not happy. I have explained until I'm blue in the face that there 'may' be better ways to organise their emails...

Does Outlook record a time / date stamp for WHEN an email was marked as read / unread, and is it possible to filter by this so we can effectively select & set all emails not Read before a certain date back to UNREAD.

And save a trainees job.

HELP!! Does anyone know HOW to customzie the Date and Time stamp on emails in Outlook 2010? I want each and every single email to show up in my Inbox (whether read or un-read/new) as the DATE, i.e. 6/19/2012 9:24am I do NOT want the words "Today" or "Yesterday" or "Tues" - AND - I want the entire DATE to appear and the TIME to appear on every message. I find and sort emails by time and date. I used to have that as a default in Outlook 2003. How do I change the default in 2010 to be what I want?

Hi, I've a problem at work, one of my co-worker on different shift is causing problems by putting a filter to certian folders in Outlook so that other workers on duty on different shifts cannot access the contents of those folder in the performance of their job.

It's no use in talking to the immediate boss, who considers him as his personal pet, willing to blame other workers for his antics.

I already know how to remove the filter, but other workers don't, besides I want a more permanent solution to this problem. (He's been deliberately witholding information he was supposed to pass on so that other workers can look foolish.)

I want to be able to trace digitally, get a time stamp when the filter was applied to those folders so that I could formally charge him (he's the only one with access to computers during his shift) with sabotaging the work.

Does anyone know how to get a time stamp when the filter was applied or setting was changed?

I've tried to send a delayed email using the "Do Not Deliver Before" function. Hoping the email would be date/time stamped when I wanted the recipient to receive the email. For example, sent the email on a Tuesday and scheduled the email to be delivered the next day (Wednesday) at 10am. The function did delay sending the email, but the date/time stamp was when I originally hit sent on Tuesday. What is the purpose of this feature if the date/time stamp will not indicate the date/time I wanted the recipient to receive the email?

When using this function, is there a way for the exchange to track the date/time stamp of the email when it actually leaves the Outbox instead of when you click send? I understand the exchange keeps track of the date/time stamp of when an email is sent, but why couldn't the exchange keep track of when the email leaves the outbox when using this function? Is there any exchange setup that will make this function work the way it is supposed to? Thank you

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

I open Event Viewer - "Admin View" to see what Errors/Warnings are there and in the column - Date and Time only the date is showing. Same goes for all the other views.
The "Time" element seems to have completely disappeared.

Any idea where its gone........... and more importantly, how to get it back?

A:Time stamp missing from Date and Time column - Event Viewer

Problem solved - but - I don't know why.

Solution:- I changed the Date/Time format from UK to US, opened Event Viewer and it was as it should be. Date & Time showing.
I then changed format back to UK, opened Event Viewer and , as above, the Time was back up.

If anybody knows what had happened I would be most interested.

My thanks to Bill............. from another site for helping me out with this one.

When I take a picture with my Android phone, the date and time when the picture was taken is recorded, in the filename as well as in the JPG picture-file itself; all very convenient. To my horror I noticed that my phone reacts in an idiotic way to the GSM connection being lost: the date of the picture is 'reset' to, apparently, the date the device was manufactured. Subsequent pictures apparently start counting from there. This completely messes up the chronology of my pictures: all pics taken with no GSM connection end up with date/times on the same day, years ago.
I completely fail to understand why this is so and would like to know if this behaviour is particular to my device or if others experienced the same thing. Is it a bug or a feature?
I experimented with various methods to set the time: manual, from GSM-network or from GPS. I would have thought that using manual or GPS would remedy things, but it didn't. (Although it had some effect on Daylight Saving Time issues, but that's another story.)

A:date and time stamp for a search

I am not sure about a search time stamp... but if you check the history of the browser, you'll prolly find the websites they visited.

While ur browser window is active... prest Ctrl + H
Then sites that have been visited will show up at the left side of the browser (this all depends on your browser settings)

Hi there,

Thank you in advance for checking out my query.

I rarely have the opportunity to use VBA so I apologise for my ignorance in advance

In the attached file I am trying to setup a few things ... tried several different codes from other sources, but weren't successful ... so I deleted the codes to avoid confusion (I am already massively confused.. I have been at this for the last 6 days and nights ... and I'm getting stressed out!).

Since there are a few things that I would like my form to do, I realise that if anyone is going to help me out, I will need to just ask for the most urgent items that are essential and have to wait with the other fixes.

There are 4 main fixes that I'd be immensely grateful for are;
The User enters a 4 digit code into a textbox named txt_SAC_No when that has been entered I need the textbox txt_SAC_Address to perform a Vlookup a named range (SiteNameADDRESS) and display the data in the textbox.
The reason for the result to be displayed in the textbox is because some codes are not listed and users will need to enter in the information manually.
I do not want the information that the user manually enters to be added to the named range.
If it is possible to have the next available Security Incident # (which is setup in Column A on the Incident Details spread sheet) when the user opens this form
Setup a Date and separate Time stamp to activate after the user has entered their name into the lbl_INC_Recorded_By textbox -... Read more

A:How to do a Vlookup in Userform, Date & Time Stamp

OK... it was all about size

I have taken all the unnecessary stuff out of the file ... so there is only the bare minimum in there... which should not affect the form or fields etc.

Small win for me today

Please let me know if you need any further clarification or information
Thank you again

I have a new computer with Windows 7 on it - and I want to copy the files from my old computer to my new one. I'm looking at copying about 300 GB worth of data.

When I copy all files and insert them onto my new desktop, I notice that all of the date/time stamps are changed to today's date.

Is there a way to preserve the date/time stamp for each file, so that it keeps the original one?

A:Preserving date and time stamp on all files copied?

If you right click the folder, then select properties It should show:

Created: (This will be the date you copied it over)

Modified ( aslong as it hasn't been modified on the new machine, IT should read the date it WAS last modified?

Accessed: It should show when the folder was last accessed (opened)

In regards to "perserving the date/Time Stamp. I'm not sure this is possible.
You can always try checking the Modified Time/date ( mentioned above ) then add the date to the file/folder name. SO you always have a refferance.

I never seem to know where to place the IFs. I yoinked the 2nd part of this code from somewhere, then added it to my existing code. It doesn't work, of course.

Option Explicit

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
'When workbook is open, if the date is blank, enter it
If Range("qadate").Value = "" Then Range("qadate").Value = Date + Time

'If the workbook is the "template", do nothing
If ActiveWorkbook.Name = "QA-Hosp" Then

Exit Sub

'If the workbook is NOT the template anymore, username & time/date stamp it

' Stores who and when on Record Sheet, column A

If Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row = 1 And Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Value = "" Then
Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Value = Environ("Username") & " " & Now
Exit Sub
End If

Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).Value = Environ("Username") & " " & Now
End If
End Sub

I very much appreciate any help!

A:Solved: Workbook_Open Username & Time/Date Stamp

Looks like you need to move the End If to the line after the Exit Sub. Otherwise it is effectively exiting before running any further code in any case.

I would also consider changing your code so you are not selecting the Records sheet:
I would declare Records sheet as a variable instead:
Dim Record as worksheet
set Record = sheets("Record")
You can then change these references:

Ok, here is what I have.

An Access Database that will allow for "Trouble Tickets" to be issued.

The way I have it set up now is a Status. This tells if the Ticket is Open or Resolved.

What I also have is a "Closed Date" Field, what I am trying to do is set it up so that if the Status is changed to Resolved, it will put the "=NOW()" in the Closed Date field.

Any suggestions. Everything seems to work fine, with the exception of this.

I have a program that runs on a XP platform on several computers.
There is one computer that has a weird problem.

The program shows the time and date of the computer, which is the actual time and date.
The program can create bitmap images and text images.
When I click on the export button, the program will save the BMP and TXT files to the Harddrive with a total different date/time stamp.
The program wil export the BMP and TXT files with not only a filename, but also a date/time stamp (the correct one).
It will be exactly one hour and one day earlier.

This is not correct, because the computer has the current date and time, but Windows labels the files with a wrong date/time stamp.

If I open Windows Explorer, I can see the files listed as:

filename200908201250.BMP Bitmap Image 12KB No 302KB 97% 8/19/2009 11:50 PM

It will not impact the problem if I change the BIOS and Windows time.

Did anyone have this effect ever before and can it be a virus ?
The problem is, once in a while, I will loose BMPs and I cannot find them anymore.

A:Time/Date Stamp in XP shows 1 day and 1 hour difference

The problem is not the time difference itself.
The big question is, how is it possible that the program takes the time from Windows, displays it correctly in the program, saves the files with the correct time and date, but shows in Windows Epxlorer to be created on a total different moment ?
The exact same program is installed on many more computers and they don't have this problem.
I have replaced the program, Windows, HDD and the computer motherboard without success.
Could it be a virus causing this ?

I joined this forum for just this one problem...

My line of work requires that I take before and after photos of everything I do or photos to support the bidding of work to be done. The resolution is required to be 640x480 and the compression set to normal. Most of the time I am taking 100+ photos per job site. Sometimes completing 3-4 job sites per day. Past cameras I have used (Nikon CoolPix) allow the Date/Time Stamp to be a part of the image which is also required by my line of work.

I have been frustratingly searching for the instructions on how to get the Date/Time Stamp to be a part of the image when it is taken for the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000.

I understand that this information is recorded with the image and that I could use a program of some sort to add the Date/Time Stamp myself but due to the volume of images a software solution would no be viable.

Is there anyone that has used or can help find the instructions for enabling a Date/Time Stamp for this particular camera?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Today 1/19/05 I am getting e-mails stamped 1/1/05 about three weeks after they were sent. I looked at the basic, Delay e-mail but it is happening from more then one person. I also thought about the whole time zone thing but I checked the time zone on the computer and it is set up right. I apologize for posting to the "general" forum here - even though my issue concerns gmail, it may have something to do with file handling in Windows 7, so I'm shooting for the broader audience in this forum.

How do I save an attached file from my gmail account, such that the date and time stamp, once saved to my local computer, remains the same as that of the original file?

That's how I just always assumed it was being done, and yet with gmail, the files are saved to my local computer with their save date/time, not the date/time of the actual file.

This is just wrong! If I send a file to 15 people, I want each recipient to have a saved file with the same date/time - not 15 different times based on when they saved them.

What am I missing, to force gmail/Windows to preserve the original file date and time stamp?

BTW, I posted this question to a gmail user forum, and the only answer I got so far is unhelpful, and likely wrong, gobbledygook.

A:Saving gmail file attachments without changing their date/time stamp?

I doubt that can happen
At best there might be a universal Date Created or Date Taken on all of the files.
The camera it's self would enter that info "if" the time and date were correctly set on the device.

10 - 20% of incoming emails get a WRONG Received date stamp in the navigation pane. On 15 Dec 2012 some emails got '25/01/2000', on 16 Dec 2012 some were stamped 26/01/2000 and a few hours later in the day '27/01/2000'. The emails originate from different senders including one from management software in this computer. That software sent me 5 emails at much the same time, four of which were stamped correctly but one '27/01/2000'.

Most emails are date/time stamped correctly but those stamped wrongly end up right at the bottom of the chronological list in the Navigation pane because of the old date. They are easily unnoticed.

The 'sent' date/time stamp in the email header always seems correct.

I have a new surveillance system at a home I bought to flip and I have been having all sorts of problems understanding its setup. I have called Samsung's tech support many times for various problems and their universal solution for every problem is to reset the unit to factory defaults before working on any problem. I've been through that so many times that my frustration with their tech support has now turned to anger. The re-setup of all my users and other customizations after their lame tech support costs me hours of work afterward.

So, here's my problem: I want to use the DVR's synchronization with an internet time server; but I can't find the correct settings. Our hosting servers are the correct time and our computer clocks are set correctly. But the time stamps on e-mails being received is off by a little over an hour. We are using Outook Express, could the problem be with settings here? Anyone have any solutions? or Why does this happen??

A:Time Stamp is off in Outlook & Outlook Express

The date/time on received emails is taken from:

a) for the 'Received' column - the date/time it was received by the email server, not by your computer. If you don't connect to an ISP for a week, you still get the time they got it, not the time you picked it up.

b) for the 'Sent' column - the date/time that the sender put it in the outbox (taken from the sender's PC clock), so if I write you an email, click 'send' but then don't connect for a while, it will still have the time it went into the inbox, not the time it was actually sent out. Also, if my PC's clock is wrong, it will show the wrong time.

Does that explain the problem? Or is it more complicated?

In Outlook 2007 (on WinXP Pro SP3), I have defined a number of rules to presort incoming email into various folders. Not all of the rules work for reasons I cannot determine (that's a question for another time), but most do. Oddly, any messages automatically moved to one particular folder always have a received time stamp of five hours earlier.

That is, a message that arrives at 9am is timestamped 4am.

Now my local timezone is EST, so this is the opposite of what would happen were the machine running with a timezone of, say, GMT, where timestamps would be 5 hours AHEAD (i.e., messages arriving at 9am would be timestamped 2pm).

As a software developer for a company with international locations, I occasionally must reset the timezone and time on my machine in order to test software, and several times I have had to set my machine to JST (Japan Standard Time, or GMT+9) but I have long since set it back again.

To anticipate several questions, both the folder and the rule were defined before any of the periods during which I was running with an altered time/timezone (i.e., none were created during one of those periods), neither did I change (nor save) any rules during those periods.

Anyone have any idea what is happening? How may I reset the timestamps for this rule/folder?

Hello and thank you for your time and help!

On my friend's computer, I am having the exact same problem as described in this post:

Time Stamp Wrong

The last reply says:

It is obvious that your ISP is messing around with time stamps. In that case, I guess you can't do much. It doesn't matter whether you use dial-up or cable.

All that you can do it call up your ISP customer care and try to confirm that they actually are doing this.Click to expand...

I have contacted the ISP and they assure me that it is not the case. They have proven it to me by sending me a test email from them to me and that email has all the correct times on it. However, when I send a test email from [email protected] to [email protected] the time difference is exactly 3 hours behind when I receive my own email back.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and he assured me that the problem is within the settings of Outlook Express - for which they don't give support. I believe him as my test email and his test email prove that the times are not being changed on their servers.

The actual clock on the computer is perfect.

How do I change the time settings within Outlook Express so that the incoming emails will have the proper time stamp please?

My friend is using Outlook Express 5.0 and his computer is older - an e-machine - so we do not wish to update the Outlook Express.

Receive an email at 5:24 PM (outlook express verifies time on my computer)

My clock is correct, senders clock is correct ... I go to forward the message at 5:24.
See below the time sent: 1 hour ahead (6:24)

Where is this time coming from, headers and clocks are all OK ... I'm stumped,

Any suggestions or thoughts, as to why this is happening?

1. Check to see if you are in the correct time zone; not only if your clock says the right time. (same area as you would go to change the time)
2. Check through the settings of Outlook Express to see if there is a place you can change the time zone.

I'm seeing a very strange problem on Windows XP. If I have a file which was created at 11:00:00am, and then delete it at 11:10:02am, and recreate it at 11:10:10am, the new file gets the OLD file's creation time (11:00:00am).

However, if I wait until 11:11:02am, it will get the correct file creation time stamp (11:11:02am). Its as though I have to wait for the one minute boundary to rollover before the new creation time gets picked up.

(By recreate, I mean the file has the same name).

Anybody know why this is happen? I assume some kind of caching....

Any info would be helpful! Thanks!

hello everyone

im having a bit of trouble configuring an e-mail account for a friend of mine

the situation is that i set up a pop3 account using the the pop3 server supplied with his website provider so he can recieve e-mails sent to [email protected]( unfortunatly his website provider doest supply an smtp service ) so i had to use his isp's smtp server to send outgoing mail .( which requires a different login and pass to use)
the problem is that when mr jones is sending e-mails outgoing mail
the recipient are seeing that the mail is sent FROM mr jones ( [email protected] ) when he would like them to see mail sent FROM mr jones ([email protected])

what i was wondering is , if there is a way to change the domain name on outgoing e-mails . i mean the e-mails show the pop3 address on them instead of the smtp address .

thank you for your time everyone .

For some reason I can't get the email alert popup to work. I have all the appropiate boxes checked. I have a sound assigned for new messages and I have Outlook as the default email client. I can get the preview to work in the options menu and can control how long it stays on the screen, etc. but it won't work when new mail comes in(even though new messages appear in the inbox). Outlook Express will give me a sound and show a new mail icon in the tray if I'm using it.

Help PLEASE!!!

I have just set up a new machine for my familly - using windows XP.
The problem is I have loaded MS Office 2003 - (Student/Teacher), and only one of the user accounts is getting new email. There is only one POP3 account for the computor - and so everyone needs to be able to use and send the email when logged on as themselves.

I have 1 admin and two user accounts on XP. All three users can view Outlook, but only one of the users (not the admin user) can view and receive the emails etc.

Any clues as to which settings I need to change to allow all three users to 'log on' and view the email and messages. - PS contacts can be viewd by all three.

A:Outlook 2003 mail 3 users problem

So you have 3 users, and only 1 email address? I get this from:
"There is only one POP3 account for the computor"

If so, then there is going to be a different solution than if everyone has their own emails.

To get everything setup though, you will need to get:
POP3 server name
SMTP server name
and the username and password for every email address that needs to be setup. Answer these questions (you don't have to tell use any of the servernames, or usernames or passwords. As long as you know them)

Once we have all this information I can run you through to set it up properly.

It seems that the Microsoft Outlook profile is corrupted. Try creating a new user profile:

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel ->Mail icon.
2. Click Show Profiles.
3. Click New Profile and type a name.
4. Add the e-mail account in the E-mail Options.
5. Type the server name and user name.
6. Cick on Check Name.
7. Change the default profile to the one you have created.
8. Open Outlook and add your archive file by going to File -> New -> Outlook Data File.
9. Select your archive file.

My Dell laptop came with Vista Home Premium 32bit factory installed. I use as my e-mail server. I originally tried to install Office 2002 and had trouble with Outlook (as is well documented in these forums). I recently upgraded to Office 2003 and have finally got Outlook working without crashing. However, receiving e-mails from Comcast is on a several hour delay from when the message first arrives on to when it appears in Outlook. Sending messages however is stalled altogether. My Pop3 and SMTP servers are set up correctly according to Comcast but sent messages remain in my outbox indefinitely and I receive the following error:

Task ' - Receiving' reported error (0x80048002) : 'This task was cancelled before it was completed.'

I have attempted to print out mailing labels from my Contacts Folder in Outlook 2003 without success.

I list here the steps taken so far :-

1.Contact page selected in Outlook containing all the addresses I want to print. I then click Tools> Mail Merge.
2. In the MM Page I have selected;- All Contacts,All Contact Fields & Mailing Labels
3. Selecting "OK" launches MS Word with instructions to click "SETUP" in Section 1 of the MM Helper Page which now appears.
4.When this is clicked , the "LABEL OPTIONS" Page appears
5 Here I select "AVERY A4 & A5 sizes" with Product Number of L7160.
6.cLICKING "ok" brings me to the Blank Label Page with MM Helper Page still superimposed on it.
7 There are 3 choices on this page with the 3rd choice "MERGE" greyed out.

I only use the Mail Merge facility rarely , the last time was almost a year ago , but I seem to remember that the 3rd choice here . i.e. "MERGE" was not "greyed out" the last time I used this facility.

Any advice as to how to resolve this would be appreciated.

I have been grappling with the following problem for weeks, and would be so grateful of any assistance!

I have Microsoft Outlook 2003 and Word 2003 installed, and I use Word as the default mail editor.

1) However, occasionally when I try to REPLY to or FORWARD a message from a Hotmail email address, I get the following error:
"Microsoft Word is set to be your default editor. However, Word is not avaliable, not installed or is not the same version as Outlook. The Outlook email editor will be used instead."
It is strange that this error only seems to occur with Hotmail accounts.
I get this error with emails which are sent with or without attachments.

2) And whenever I get this error, and I try to open an e-mail I get a message saying "starting microsoft office word as your e-mail editor" which takes for ages and nothing happens.

3) In Tools-> Options -> Mail Format, the option which allows one to select Word as one's mail editor, magically becomes "unticked", even though it was ticked.
I have to then re-tick it, but if I try and forward or reply one of these mails again, the box will magically unticked and the error message will still appear.

4) Also in connection with this error, when I want to close Word I get the following message:
"Changes have been made that affect the global template - normal. Do you wish to save those changes?"

I am running Windows 7, if it makes any difference.

Many thanks in advance... Read more

When you send an e-mail or receive one from outlook, by default it looks for the person in your contacts and puts the display name up instead.

But when reading the e-mail it displays

John Doe [mailto:[email protected]]
To: Jane Doe

How do you get rid of the mailto:etc, etc ??? I would prefer a hyperlink instead of the mailto because then it reveals the person's e-mail address.

I know you could just hover over it or click on the hyperlink to find out the e-mail, but I'm just asking for the purpose of printing. I don't want my e-mail address shown in a long stream of E-mail send's and replies between a friend when I print it.

If there is a setting in Outlook to turn this off, please let me know, I fooled around with everything and I cant get it to work.

First off what a knowledgeable and useful site you have. I have been trying to sort out several IT issues now that I have become my organisations IT guy i.e. I can fix a few software and hardware issue without calling in tech support. However my Outlook Macro skills have been found wanting so by searching this site I found this old closed thread

which is exactly what I was looking for, to Rollin_Again for his great advice, on how to get the date inserted automatically into outlook 2003 subject line when I open an email using the date time group of yyyyMMdd. I'm using his recommended code:

Sub CreateMail()

Dim objOutlookMsg As Outlook.MailItem
Set objOutlookMsg = Application.CreateItem(olMailItem)
objOutlookMsg.Subject = Year(Date) & Month(Date) & Day(Date) & " - TEST SUBJECT"

End Sub

And I have the macro set up and working.

The only problem is that instead of displaying the date time group as yyyyMMdd so that for 1 Feb 2010 it would read 20100201 it will display it without the month and date with a preceding zero such as 201021. I've searched this site and goggled for the last 4 days to try and sort the issue out myself but no luck hence the post here. Hello. Here is my issue short and sweet.

When I use ANY of the web based emails (Yahoo, Gmail, Comcast) on computer A, all of my emails are stamped an hour earlier than real time. By real time, I mean the clock on the computer AND the analog tick-tock clock on my kitchen wall. Both display the correct time accurately.

When I use ANY of the web based emails (Yahoo, Gmail, Comcast) on computer B (or C or D), all of my emails are stamped with real/correct time that matches my kitchen and computer. These computers ALSO reflect correct time.

With either computer, any file created or saved has a date and time stamp that is correct and reflects real time. Whether saved with a web app, a windows app or a cmd line app.

On all computers my time zone is set correctly. The "adjust for DST" box is checked. I also ran TZEDIT to confirm that my DST dates are correct.

One revelation (and I believe herein lies the key). If I look on computer A at the bottom of the "Date and Time Properties box: the current time zone says : Eastern *STANDARD* time. If I look at computers B, C or D. The "Date and Time Properties box says: current time zone: Eastern *DAYLIGHT* time. I can not find any way to change the "STANDARD" to "DAYLIGHT".

Now for the big question. How is this resolved?

Thank you.

Member Rollin_Again very kindly gave me the following data:

Sub CreateMail()

Dim objOutlookMsg As Outlook.MailItem
Set objOutlookMsg = Application.CreateItem(olMailItem)
objOutlookMsg.Subject = Year(Date) & Month(Date) & Day(Date) & " - TEST SUBJECT"

End Sub

It works apart from now a new year has started, the month only date only appear as a single figure if less that 10 (eg 201011 rather than 20100101)
I have tried editing with it but no joy.

Can anyone help please?

Hi, My name is Fran. I've had something strange going on for a while (a month?) and I thought I'd give this a shot to figure out what the problem is. As I said in the Topic title, I have blank Outlook 2003 emails that keep showing up in my Inbox/Sent Mail/Deleted Mail Folders for my hotmail account in Outlook 2003. They all are the same size, but have various times. I contacted Microsoft, and they suggested that I reset my passwordsand security questions for all of my email accounts. I did this, but the problem has continued in my Hotmail account in Outlook 2003. This has made me suspect that I have something on my computer that picked up the new password. I fear that someone or something is hijacking my computer and want to put a stop to it. I read something today about HijackThis and decided to give it a try. I installed the software and ran a scan generating a log file. It then instructed me to use one of the forums for assistance in a list on their website in which you were at the top--so here I am.I attached the log for the scan from Hijackthis (I HAD TWO FILES AND WAS UNSURE WHICH YOU SHOULD GET, SO I UPLOADED BOTH--I RAN TWO SCANS WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF EACH OTHER, BUT AM UNSURE IF THESE LOGS ARE FOR EACH OR JUST ONE SCAN). And, when I looked at the scans' logs, it was all Greek to me. Of course, if there is any other info you need, please just let me know. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.B... Read more

My wife's cousin has a Sony FD 73 camera. I don;t know how old it is but it uses a 3.5" floppy disk to record the pictures.
The instruction book I downloaded says the recommended OS is Windows 3.1 Windows 95 or later, so it is sort of an antique I suppose.
He needs to have the date embedded in the pictures I can't find a setting for this in the manual. Is there a way to change settings so he can do this?

I been using Outlook 2003 for 5-6 years and have about 4000 Outlook e-mails saved including a folder which contains all my purchased software serial numbers. I carefully exported all my Outlook 2003 e-mails before switching to Windows mail. I have discovered to my dismay, that Windows mail can not import Outlook mail and somehow in the process of installing Windows mail, my Outlook 2003 program disappeared. My old 2003Student and Teacher Office disk which contained the Outlook 2003 software is too scratched to reinstall. I have looked for some kind of Outlook to Windows Mail converter from Microsoft; but no luck so far. I am absolutely amazed that Microsoft would publish a new mail program and not include import routines for its own legacy mail programs. Outlook 2007 apparently has the same problem with Windows Mail. Even if I purchase a replaacement disk from Microsoft ( I have the orginal box and serial number for my Student and Teacher Office package, so I thick I could still get a replacement disk), I would still have to use two e-mail programs and eventually Outlook 2003 would stop working with some future OS upgrade). Any suggestions??

I have a problem with Outlook Express. When I delete emails I no longer want to keep (from Inbox, Outbox, Sent and any of my other Local Folders) and then run Scandisk it will frequently show an error (and sometimes more than one error). A typical error message looks like -

Window Heading - 'Scandisk Found an Error on Model 93 (C

The 'C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express'
folder contains incorrect information about 'Sent Items.dbx'

This file or folder's last modified date or time is invalid or is in the future.
This may be because your computer's clock is set incorrectly.
ScanDisk repairs future dates by changing them to your computer's
current date setting. ScanDisk repairs out-of-range dates or time by
changing them to the nearest setting within the valid range.

Then there is a choice of three repair options - I always choose to
'Repair the error'

The folder in the error message varies quite a bit as does the '.DBX' file. An other frequent error folder is
'C:\RECYCLED\NPROTECT and this is followed by a DBX file with 8 numeric digits followed by .dbx (eg 00004188.DBX

I should make it clear my system clock is at the correct time, I rarely change the time and, certainly, I don't change the time when I'm using any program (including Outlook Express).

Anybody got an idea as to the cause of these errors? Thanks.

Does that happen with email from anyone but you?

The receiver (or you) should click the clock in the system tray and check to make sure the time and date are correct. And also the time zone. Other than that, it could be a server or the location of the server that is causing the problem.

Have set the correct time zone, set the date and time, and within half an hour, the time jumps ahead significantly. Time then continues jumping periodically, and date as well. Any patch available for this?

Somehow some time back I set Word 2010 to show a date on every saved page that I have. The date shows up on the bottom of the page on the left side. It also shows on a saved document for an envelope that I made. I want to delete that particular date stamp but when I open the envelope, I cannot figure out how to delete it on this item.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have this problem. When I save an email with the option "save as" from windows mail IT will print the current date without maintaining the mail by default, but if you drag the email with the mouse and loose it in a folder now. I'm trying to fix this with this, but, did not work:
1) the .eml files change to the present date when they are indexed by the search indexer; this is, a few seconds after creation. Thus, backup/restore/sync will not work properly, but indexing.
2) if you delete that mentioned registry key, then the indexing of .eml files no longer works, i.e. you cannot find them in a full-text search. However, backup works now.
3) it is unknown whether the other solution, proposed by alecamiga, to link .eml to thunderbird and write lock the files, does the same or works better.
