We use the shared calender in Gmail for keeping track of company events etc. but at this stage we need something better as we have more events to keep track of and more departments getting involved etc. Is there anyway of making the basic Gmail calendar into an updateable spreadsheet calendar that can be accessed by the entire office and/or specific department?
This is all new to me so really glad to get any advice.

Using Windows 10 Calendar (Outlook) as my primary calendar. The calendar contains two accounts, my Microsoft Live Account and my Gmail Account. In the left panel, I have the Gmail Calendar checked ? the Outlook calendar is unchecked. When I add an event, the default dropdown is my Gmail calendar which is what I want as my default.
Events that I add to my calendar show up in both my Outlook calendar and my Gmail calendar as expected ? or maybe not quite as expected. I?ve just discovered that if I add an event several months in the future, it momentarily appears on my Outlook calendar and then is deleted (I see a brief deleted message appear). If I then go directly to my Gmail calendar, the event I just added shows up as expected. As of today (March 24), the cutoff date when the Windows/Outlook calendar automatic deletes begin to occur is September 7 (or 167 days from now). I haven?t yet experimented to see if the cutoff date moves forward every day.
Very strange. Anybody know what?s going on. If you have a similar calendar setup as mine, give it a try and see if your experience is the same. By the way, my Windows 10 system is fully updated.
I currently use Outlook 2010 for work and have a lot of appointments.

This might sound like an odd thing to be doing, but...I need to pull Google calendar information into a spreadsheet.
Currently Google calendar allows you to export in ical and XML formats but I am not sure how to get that data into rows and columns on a spreadsheet. I am basically looking to grab some of the information for a basic spreadsheet containing date, location, description. Just the basic things.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
What spreadsheet are you using? Excel will open up XML files, all neatly broken out.
I am trying to build a cross between a spreadsheet, a calendar and a gantt chart in excel. The goal is to use this workbook to track product builds. There are two worksheets: one is the spreadsheet view where users will enter the data and a calendar view that I'd like to autopopulate based upon the spreadsheet data. I've attached a dummy sheet for reference.
My hope is to define the variable names on the spreadsheet worksheet, and then once dates are assigned to those variables have everything autopopulate on the calendar sheet. Would this require a complex macro, or is there a simple way to accomplish this in excel?
(I've tried looking for online solutions but nothing fits very well. Suggestions welcomed!)
Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.

Frequent reader here, you guys and gals are great. Anyways, Even Google forums don't have the correct solution to sign in with another email address then return to the normal one. The problem is that with when you sign in with Google Calendar (all of a sudden) as a regular google calendar user, not an apps user, it gives a message saying Oops another Calendar has been created for... Then it disables a lot of the features. How do we get our calendars back, please help!

Unable to sync Nokia N8 with Windows Live Calendar - Portable Devices
I'm trying to help a friend who has just installed Office 2016 on her computer, which was recently upgraded from Win7 to Win10.
She's been using Outlook.com and has accumulated a fair amount of email, contacts and calendar appointments. I've managed to get her email to show up by adding it to Outlook 2016 as a POP3 account. I was able to import her contacts into Outlook 2016 from a file called OutlookContacts.csv. Now I'm trying to get her calendar with all its many calendars and appointments into Outlook 2016.
I'm not sure why but the appointments all show up just fine in Mail and Calendar for Windows 10, even though we did nothing to put them there (as far as we know). But she'd like them to appear when she clicks on the Calendar in Outlook 2016 and I can't find any information on how to do that. I've also looked for some kind of Export function in the Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 app but I came up empty.
How do I get her calendar into Outlook 2016?
I can't be the only one who finds Microsoft *awful* at documenting this kind of basic functionality. Millions of people must have tried to do the same thing before me but if there's any information out there on how to do this, it has eluded me so far....
You can manually export calendars from Outlook.com using a round-a-bout method I posted at this link. However, I don't think that's going to help you because what you really want to do is set up Outlook 2016 so that her email, calendar and contacts sync with (and stay in sync with) her Outlook.com account.
Therefore, instead of setting email up as a POP account and then importing calendar, contacts, etc. separately, why not just setup Outlook 2016 to work with her Outlook.com account? I haven't done it with Outlook 2016, only older Outlook versions that used Hotmail Connector, however the following instructions for Outlook 2016 seem fairly straight forward.
If she has two-factor authentication switched on for her Outlook.com account, then you may need to generate an app password from her Outlook.com account, and use that as the password instead of the actual Microsoft Account password.
On my friend's Win 8.1 computer, he accesses his email email@example.com using Gmail. He also has a Windows phone and accesses that same Gmail account there.
On the phone it is set to also sync the Contacts and Calendar. But the Contacts and Calendar are not syncing. He claims that it used to work, and that seems to be true since there are a lot of contacts listed on the phone.
I've done some research and found that Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync is used for this syncing. I've also found that there is inconsistent info about whether or not GMail still supports EAS. Some sources on the web say Gmail does not support it any longer, some say they only still support it if you have Google Apps for Business. But my friend does have Google Apps for Business, I confirmed that by checking in his Gmail account, I can see the history of the billing, he has had it for almost two years.
Can anyone help clear this up?
Re: Outlook 2003
Is there is a way to designate a Shared Outlook Calendar (that is used as our company-wide calendar) as an individual's default calendar. We are set up with a Microsoft XP Exchange Server.
The goal is to have the company-wide calendar download to a Blackberry Curve as the user's default calendar. Right now he sees his own calendar which he does not need. We have the Blackberry Desktop Manager installed on his network computer.
As an addendum, it would be preferable that the Outlook/Blackberry user not be able to modify the office-wide Shared Calendar (should there be a way for him to see it) so that all changes still go through our calendar maven. Thank you.
It seems that Google?s sync program just syncs it's calendar with the default Outlook calendar.
Does anyone know if there is any way to just sync one particular calendar with Google's? Not Outlooks default calendar. I don?t want all my personal info going over to a ?group Google? calendar.

my online outlook calendar does not sync with my Windows Calendar app. I am talking about the online calendar which can be accessed after sign-in here: Prihláste sa do svojho konta Microsoft which for me used to always take all the information from my desktop calendar app, and vice-versa, when I entered an event online, it also appeared in my desktop app. This was useful for syncing with my phone and generally accessing my calendar when not having my laptop on me. This is now impossible for me to do.
Now they don't sync and it's quite annoying, I am getting desperate and thinking of using some other app (if you have tips, tell me. Thank you in advance for any help.
Also, I am adding a picture if it helps, on the left is my calendar, when I access it online, on the right is my Windows App. You can clearly see that there is a lot more on the right. I just want the events to appear in the online calendar as well, as they did before...

If I enter an appointment on the native calendar app it is not pushing these appointments to other devices or even the browser outlook.com calendar view. Should it be doing so? It works the other way around. So if I enter an appointment on my phone (iOS) using the outlook setup on the calendar it does push the appointment to the calendar app on Windows 10. Just not other way round!
Ok, correction - it does work. Just took a while to push them out. About 30 minutes to come through. Pretty slow but at least it did it. Maybe servers are slow although I'm sure it's pretty instant the other way round !1 more replies

Have been trying for a while to sync windows 10 calendar on my laptop with windows 10 calendar on my wife's laptop. No luck so far.
I have linked both individual windows 10 calendars with our individual google calendars, and events transfer successfully from both windows 10 calendars, through both google calendars, but will not download to the other windows 10 calendar.
Is that clear?
What I am trying to say is that I can create an event on my windows 10 calendar, it transfers to my google calendar, and then to my wife's google calendar, but it does not load on to my wife's windows 10 calendar. This works both ways.
Help will be very much appreciated. Please note that while I use my laptop a great deal I have little insight into the technicalities. It's a tool!

Outlook 2007 running under Exchange server. We have a shared calendar used by all employees to show when they will be out of the office... vacations, part time, etc.
We also have Resource Mailboxes in Exchange so that when you click on the "Rooms" button when setting up an appointment, you can see the room schedule, then add your appointment to the room by inviting the room as an attendee.
The boss wants to do something similar with the shared calendar. When she puts an appointment on her private calendar that will take her out of the office, she wants to be able to press the equivalent of the "Rooms" button and have that appointment be automatically copied to the shared calendar so that everyone can see that she will be out of the office.
I've been trying to do a web search but unfortunately the search terms I have been using keeps telling me how to set up calendars, not how to pull off this trick.
Information greatly appreciated. TIA.
I uploaded my school calendar to my google calendar so I can see it in my android phone but i had to delete it because there was a problem with it. When I try to upload it again I get the following error message :"Failed to import events: Some of the events in this file were not imported because you had imported them to Google Calendar before. Other events in this file have been imported.."
I have looked around online and some people said to open the file with text edit and delete the "UID." I did that but it did not help. Other people say to create another calendar and share it but that is also giving me problems.
Does anyone know how to get around this problem. I really need to have my calendar in my personal calendar that I have for my google account so I can keep my self sane and not get lost in grad school. Thank you for all your help.
I have been using Outlook 2003 for many years then upgraded to 2007, which I've used for years.
Typically I would enter appointments into my calendar in my Outlook 2007 and sync that with my phone....the blueberry or iPhone 3GS....I upgraded to the iPhone4 and have put appointments into my iPhone and synced my iPhone using iTunes (which normally syncs my Outlook calendar as well).
However, I've noticed recently some appt's put into my phone were not showing up on my Outlook Calendar....more snooping and I've just tonight discovered I have another calendar named iSync-Calendar.ics! Well, that's where many of my missing appointments were found!!
So I look closer at my iPhone4 and go to settings>calendar> and look for my default calendar which is iSync-Calendar.ics!!!
I am assuming that somehow that got switched, but used to be "calendar" which was outlook.
I am hoping this doesn't happen in the future..but for now I'm displaying both Calendar and iSync-Calendar.ics on Outlook so I can see all my appointments!!
Glad I caught that tonight as I have double and tripled booked some time slots in the future not seeing them on my iPhone since default calendar was iSynch and NOT calendar and vice versa!!!
Do you think I corrected the problem? Can I sync the iSync appts into or import them into my Calendar??

I use Outlook as my primary calendar app at home, and either GMail or my iPhone calendar when I am away. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get these three services to talk to each other.
Does anyone know of any programs or services I can use to keep my calendar synchronized? I wouldn't mind dropping GMail from the loop entirely and just having Outlook <-> iPhone synching to each other. Or if anyone has any suggestions for other super awesome calendar apps I'd consider that - but I admit I am pretty fond of Outlook at the moment.
Thanks for your help.
Are you using a personal email account with Outlook, or a company account? If you're using a company account, you can set up your email on your iPhone using the Exchange account setup wizard, and that will sync over your calendar to your phone.
If you're using a personal email account, it's probably either POP or IMAP. Outlook calendar and contacts can be synced to your iPhone, but you'll have to use a manual sync with the phone connected to the computer: http://www.sync-iphone.com/contacts-calendars-email/sync-iphone-with-outlook.html#sync-iphone-with-outlook-two-way
You can also sync Outlook to Gmail, but you'll again need to hool up the phone to the computer and download Google's calendar sync program to your desktop: http://www.ehow.com/how_7172202_sync-outlook-calendar-gmail-calendar.html
Hope this helps.
So, this is about the integration between the two, of course. I have added the WL feed to OC and it appears there. Every task appears as an "all day" event. Then I uncheck the "all day" box, enter the respective time and make my schedule. And then, I guess at the next refresh from the WL feed, all events are back to "all day" :( Does anybody know how to deal with this? Or any reasonable way to put WL tasks into a(ny) calendar without having to jump through hoops? Thanks in advance!More replies

I've had a persistent problem for several months since I migrated to a new hard drive. Outlook 2010 calendar is working, but only in Active List view. Any attempt to change to Preview or Calendar view produces the error message, "Could not read the calendar." Changing from Active List to List works some of the time, but inconsistently and sometimes it will hunt for the list and offer the same "Could not read the calendar." error message. This is very frustrating as I find it difficult to manage the list view and am accustomed to seeing the calendar week view.
I use an Android phone and use gmail and Google calendar to see mail and appointments on my phone. So, I've got Google Calendar Sync 0.9.4.1 running. Google Calendar Sync appears to be operating normally. I have a nice calendar view on my phone or web-based from my computer. I have tried adding the Google calendar to Outlook but it is a duplicate of the default calendar and I can't set it as the default. Also, MS Office does not permit me to delete the default calendar.
I don't like any of the work arounds. I just want the calendar to work like it should. Research discloses no real hint of anything that works including running scanpst. Scanpst does a great job at fixing the problem by wiping the whole calendar thanks very much MS.

I'm currently running Windows 8 that my laptop came with. I decided to wait for the official 8.1 release in October instead of the Preview.
I have a lot of Calendar reminders on my Windows 8 Stock Calendar and I was wondering when I upgrade to 8.1, will those reminders disappear?
I'm asking this because I've been reading a lot of articles that you have to re-install your apps and settings after the update.
Although you probably can't confirm this until it has released (I guess).
Has anyone lost their reminders on when they switched from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 Preview?
Upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro
You can upgrade to Windows 8.1 Preview Pro and keep Windows settings, personal files, and applications from the following Windows operating system editions:
Windows 8 Windows 8 Pro Windows 8 Pro with Media Center
I'm assuming Preview and RTM are interchangeable in this context and thus application settings should be retained.
Just upgraded to windows 10 mobile. Now calendar, contacts, and mail cannot see Microsoft account. The account is listed correctly in phone settings, but not in mail, calendar, and contact settings.

When I access outlook on the web, I have the option of creating a new calendar. I use this to separate the type of events I put on my calendar. I have the holiday one, of course, but I also have one I use to keep all my school classes and events in, so they're a different color than everything else. I then just made one for 'special' events, because I've got an increasing amount of such events, like musical dates, opera dates, my nephew's boy scout events, etc, that I want to have show up separate from my classes. I want to be able to filter which sort of events show up, and I can on outlook.com. That's not my problem. I just click 'new calendar' and I can customize these sort of events.
However, the problem shows up when I go to the calendar app for windows 10. I use it a lot- a LOT -and it does show different calendars on the side bar. It's got my main outlook calendar, my 'birthday calendar', and the holiday calendar to choose from. I can filter one out, or let them all show up, etc. But those are the only three that show up. My 'special events' calendar and my 'classes' don't show up on the sidebar there. I thought maybe I just needed to wait until it automatically synced with outlook, but when it did, all my classes and special events disappeared completely. These two new, customized calendars don't sync with the app, and the events that are on those calendars disappear.
Is there a way to make these new calendars show up on the Windows 10 app, or do I just need to wait? ... Read more
My Primary Google Calendar (formerly listed as "My Calendar") has disappeared from my Google desktop calendar. Secondary calendars are still there, but all my phone apps use "My Calendar"as a primary and therefore won't sync events to the desktop. Any idea where it went/how I can retrieve it?
The system is notebook computer with Windows Vista, Microsoft Works v 9 and using the spreadsheet application, browsers Firefox and a chrome type browser. I try to highlight an email address from an email in Gmail and paste into a cell of a spreadsheet document (using MS Works v 9), but it does not work; no paste of the text occurs; the menu under Edit neither shows Paste as active (it appearing grey, not black). Not any different using Firefox versus chrome type browser.
On the other hand, I can Paste the attempted copy of the email address into Notepad, click Edit, click on Select All, click on Copy, and then I CAN paste this into a cell of the spreadsheet document.
What might be wrong? What should I look for ? How can I remedy this? This problem has been happening for about a month now.

Many data entry forms have one or more text fields that the user should fill with a date value. Many sites have a button near these fields that when clicked pops up a new small window with a calendar, to help the user select the date. When the user clicks on a day this popup calendar window is closed and the selected date is shown in the input textbox control of the parent window.
I want to do this in VB 6. Does anyone have such a control or any directiosn as to ho to achieve this effect.

I still can't get the Outlook Calendar to work in eM Client although I can get it to display the one email from MS that is in my mailbox. Anyone know a way to get this to work or what I'm doing wrong?More replies
Hi I'm new to windows 8 and have decided to fully inform myself on this , however does anyone know why my calendar is showing multiple birthdays sometimes displayed more than once . I know they have been synced from my Facebook and hotmail however I'm struggling to unsung or even manage my calendar so I can delete them !!! Any help ??!?
More than likely, the same data is synced across multiple calendars, and there isn't a good way for the sync client to know they're the same. I have this problem in my Galaxy SIII android calendar.. I have to reset it every so often.1 more replies
I have a Surface RT & was going to use the pre-installed Calendar app for the 1st time (tablet just given to me earlier this month). I don't want to have to sign-in each time just to check my own dates, I am not going to sync at all & don't want/need to put my dates into the "cloud" or have Microsoft see what I have dated.
What's a good-great app that I can just open & get to my dates w/o having to sign-in to sync anything?
I'm trying to make an outlook style calendar based interface to frontend for an appointments database, anybody know how to get the calendar to allow this, do i have to index it like a control array, also calendar highlights for days with something happening. Any help would really be appreciated.
Also how do i get it to recognise todays date and update appropriately. Any help on how to get it to search a datebase for events on a particular day would be a big help too.
So my boss and I were experimenting with the right online calendar which would work with our business and we ended up going with Google Calendar. We had originally gone with the Microsoft calendar, and I eventually went back and subscribed to the google calendar via Microsoft...but I'm getting this window that prompts me to logon.
"Connect to calendars.office.microsoft.com" with a username and password...and the one that I'm trying isn't right.
I've searched countless forums, and came across several instructing me on how to disable Windows Calendar...I don't necessarily want to do that, because I'd like to keep using to access my Google Calendar, but this logon screen, if I leave my desk for an hour I've got 5 or 6 popup logon screens to close...it's just getting annoying and I'd like to keep them from showing up. Any ideas?
Thanks so much!
Please see my new post which better explains the issue: How to sync a Google Calendar with my Windows Live Mail Calendar
I use WLM (desktop) to access my Gmail account and WLM has it's own calendar not linked to the Gmail account.
A friend installed Google Calendar on the PC for my wife to use but it is not connected to the Gmail account except for log in purposes, if an addition is made to the WLM Calendar it does nopt dhow on the Google Calander.
How do I set WLM to use the Google Calander?
I use WLM to access email provided account my ISP and I use the Calendar to record appointments etc.
Today I formatted and reinstalled Vista Home Premium, and WLM but forgot to backup my Calendar entries.
I do have a complete copy of my original install on an offline disk, can someone please tell me which folder Calendar entries are kept in so I can copy the contents into my new install.

I'm trying to set up my schedule in windows calendar and have created some appointments that recurr on weekly basis. I need to be able to type in different notes in the details pane for each weekly appointment but have found that the notes recurr as well and when I change one I change them all. Does anyone know if it's possible to change some setting somewhere that will allow me to write notes that don't recurr with each appointment?More replies
I would like to print the calendar by the month and want it to show the details such as times of appointments . I have gone to View and checked Details. The print shows times on day and week but not on the month. When printing the month I only get the appointments, no times altho' I have them filled in in the details panel. Can anyone help please?
What is the difference between iCalendar (.ics) & vCalendar (.vcs)? Should I export the Works calendar to both?
These links from Filext.com may help you understand the differences somewhat better:
Extension: VCSTo me, it looks as though the VCS extension is used more often, but if you will be interacting with programs such as ICal or Lotus Notes, then you may want to save in ICS form, too.
If you ever find yourself in a bind and need a different extension version that what you have, you might want to check out ABC Amber iCalendar Converter.
Could someone please go to "Default Programs>Set Default Programs>Windows Calendar>Choose defaults for this program" and take a screenshot? Thanks.
Hello Huselys, and welcome to Vista Forums.
Here you go. What problems are you having with it?
Hope this helps,
I have a database with projects and tasks. I want to know if it is possible to build a report in a calendar view that will allow me to see which dates I booked the people for different projects. I want a monthly and annual calendar view of projects and personnel assigned to projects? I have task open and due dates with a person assigned to a task and project open and close dates with project names linked to the dates. I have attached the database, which will eventually link to a database that I created for investigations and municipalities (with help of OBP!).The projects will flow out out complaints and investigations from the first database. Please assist.....

Windows Calendar does not open automatically when a scheduled appointment or its reminder time comes.
Under File / Options 'Windows should show when Windows Calendar is not running' is checked.
The appointment is listed under C.P. / Ad Tools / Task Schedular / Active Tasks.
Running Vista using AVG anti virus.
Simple solution that I should have tried much sooner.
The same solution can solve the inability for Spybot to immunize.

I am trying to wean myself away from WordPerfect, which I have used for years and years. It has a nifty way of making a monthly calendar on which you can enter birthdays, doctors appoinments, etc.
I am trying to get used to MS Word, which does not apparently have the calendar feature. (I do not use MS Outlook and do not wish to do so.)
Does anybody know of a freeware program for making a monthly calendar?
All kinds of word templates out there.
I would like to store the file that holds my MS Works Calendar data on a networked drive, so that I could access it from all the computers on my home network. Is that possible. The MS KB seems to say that the data file Mswkscal.wcd must be on the same drive as the Calendar program.
I know I may be one of the few left on the planet who actually want a "hard copy" of a calendar, monthly view. I use Google Calendar. I know how to print it. It is pitiful. It leaves lots of space in each square and yet totally cuts off most of the wording of the event. I have tried an iPhone app called CalPrint. It integrates the google calendar but when printed, it takes up most of the box with the words "All Day." I have tried the Outlook method of synchronizing with google calendar, but it takes up most of the box putting in the ending time on every event, when I don't even want the ending time. Surely there is a program out there that uses the data from google calendar and allows me a reasonable print output? I would be happy with either a software application or an app for iPhone/iPad. Is there anything?
Anyone suggest a good calendar download for desktop, AND a safe site to get one.
Just read a thread of someone who downloaded one from Cnet, and they ended up with serious virus problems
I use Google calendar and have never had a problem <https://www.google.com/calendar/render>2 more replies
Is there a ways to keep the calendar as part of my desktop background/wallpaper? As it stands now I have it pinned to the task bar but have to open it up to use it but I would like to be able to see it when I start the computer. Also how do notifications work? I have ticked the 1 week button on the appointments so will they alert me by emial or on the desktop.
I'll look around and I know others will chime in but as of now I don't think you can.5 more replies
I was shocked to find in my emails a note from Google Calendar advising me of my appointments for today. I have not
to my knowledge asked Google to do this and I don`t know how they have come by the information.
How do I get rid of this connection ? I don`t need the web to remind me of what I am doing. It is an invasion of my privacy.
Google Calendar is synced with your Gmail -- they're both by the same company. So if that is the email address they are sending things to, it's not an invasion of your privacy. They just have your information because you gave it to them when you created an account with them.
As for disabling the email notifications, when you create an even there are options to disable even reminders. I use Google Calendar daily and also hate notifications simply because I check the calendar enough -- I don't need emails too.
Hey everyone new to the forum and to Windows 8. Even though there are some bumps along the road I'm pretty impressed and liking some of the new changes to the W8.
However, I have a few questions/issues with the calendar
Now I'm sure this first one is just user error because I'm still fresh and new to w8. I have all the Us holidays loaded into my calendar on the main user profile. And man do I love that! But I created a second user for my wife, and she has no holidays and the option to select it isn't even there for her. Is there something I'm doing wrong? How do I get the US holidays onto her calendar as well? Thanks in advance for your help.
Also, a few other things I noticed that, maybe I'm doing wrong, or maybe it's something that windows should address in a future update:
-If multiple users are on same computer and I create an event I would like to share with my wife for her calendar under her username w/ a simple process. Seeing that they are on the same computer they should be able to just quickly share it to the other user. instead you have to send an email to only their outlook email (e-mailing it to gmail or any other account would turn it into an .ics file and useable by w8 calendar) in order to accept and add it to your calendar. should be a simple click n share option. same goes for apps and such. should be able to just click and share it over to the other user simple as pie. instead of going roundabout way with having to send an email, then click on the link ...
