Q: Outlook & ICloud Sync

In my Outlook Contacts area I have Outlook contacts and ICloud contacts. Is there any way to keep these two lists in sync?

Hello knowledgeable ones:

Until last week I was using outlook 2003, an older versions of itunes, and an ipod, and was able to back up my outlook contacts and calender through itunes and right to the ipod, no problem.

Now, however, I have had to upgrade everything so they can handshake correctly. This has meant going to Outlook 2007, the latest itunes, an iphone 5, and the icloud. My entire goal is to have the contacts in outlook match the contacts in both the cloud and the phone.

In using the icloud control on both of these, I now have the following: a variety of calenders in my outlook with names like calender in icloud, home in icloud, and my calender, all in lovely pastel shades. The phone has one calendar with only the occasionally dupes on a given date.

The phone, however, is a disaster, with as many as three dupes of the same name. Looking at Outlook, I have a slew of contacts, some dupes, many that I though i had deleted from outlook. Also two categories of contacts, icloud and my contacts, with sub-directories in each. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that the contacts tab under my contacts was completely blank following a sync to the cloud, only to then find the other five versions, which, of course, I would like to have agree with each other. The icloud interface on line shows dupe contacts as well.

I understand that one person may not have all the answers to all the parts of this; I am on an iphone forum as well, trying to figure ... Read more

I am running outlook 7 windows 7.

In the past, the problem was that the send date above emails in the to send folder said "none" and the email topic was bold faced, and not regular in italics. It will not send.

I resolved this [and SHOULD HAVE WRITTEN IT DOWN] by going to the trust center and I believe disabling the icloud item.

HOWEVER: subsequent to all this, I finally figured out how to sync my outlook calender [not outlook contacts, cloud contacts and iphone5 phone contacts are synced.

HOWEVER, the original problem is back, and windows shows that only calendar in icloud is synced, not "calendar" and not whatever "calendar from icloud in icloud" [just uncheck both and I eliminate dupes]

IF i start screwing around in the trust center and disabling the "icloud outlook ad-in", which I know played a role in getting the send to work, will I eliminate that "calendar in icloud" that continues to works so well? And if so, how do I get it back to sync with iphone 5?

A:How to fix a send issue WITHOUT screwing up my sync to icloud

Like you I am running Outlook 7 under Windows 7, 64 bit, and have version 3, the latest, for the iCloud control panel. And, like you, I have long ceased to attempt any kind of sync for anything other than the calender. If you go into the trust center and disable the icloud add in outlook will cease to sync with icloud. Indeed, only yesterday I ran a test: I added an appointment to my iphone and it did not appear on my outlook calendar. I had disabled the icloud add in before it was the only way to get anything to send from the outbox. As soon as I re enabled it the appointment appeared, only now I had the email issue.

It is interesting to note that when I went into the account settings in outlook to be sure the problem wasn't there, I was able to send the test message without issue, so it have to believe that all my pop server numbers are correct and the problem lies with the add in. Apple support blame Microsoft, who blames Apple. As with this entry, no almost a year old, I have never gotten any answers from this forum.

Should you have learned how to handle the issue, please let me know.

I use Google Drive, Box Sync, Dropbox and iCloud, but I am running out of disk space on my "C" Drive. It looks like my C Drive has 216 GB and I have an E Drive of 931 GB. My C Drive is almost full at 196 GB and made me turn off/unsync many of my Google Drive folders so I could save some of my files for work. My E Drive has almost 900GB available. I think I have my Dropbox syncing to E Drive, but I can't choose how to sync Google Drive to E Drive....It points it automatically to C Drive. My Mac seems way easier than this $***...ugh, what a pain in the *$$...why do I even have two drives seperated like this?! My last work PC was way easier than this more expensive paperweight, but in order to Run all the DEsign intensive stuff we do [Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Design Suite, etc.]  we were told this computer should work well...ummmm, well, it's not..it's making my life more complicated and stressfull!

I am running iCloud on multiple PC's. Everything was fine until I had it running on two 8.1 PC's, then I started having problems.

In total, iCloud was running on one Win 7 Pro PC and two Windows 8.1 PC's. My theory is that the two Windows 8.1 PC's were syncing via iCloud and Skydrive (or Onedrive) which is set up by default. But they were able to read each other's settings okay. But Win 7 doesn't have the same sync settings, so the bookmarks were being written in 8.1 and then multiplying in Win 7.

I'm not sure, but this is my theory. Running on all Win 7 is okay. Running on all Win 8.1 seems okay. But combining the two OS's with iCloud seems to cause some problems.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

A:iCloud Creating Duplicate Bookmarks - Due to Win 8.1 Sync?

The only thing I would look at is to only use one cloud service if that is your suspect.

I am not hinting to use icloud but that is simple to stop by just removing the application. If you chose to use icloud this is how to disable onedrive.

I currently use Outlook 2010 because I have a paid license but I'm willing to upgrade.

This works Ok with iCloud but what I don't like is that I can't make my icloud calendar the default in Outlook so I don't get reminders on my PC. What I end up doing is manually copying critical appointments from my icloud calendar to my Outlook default calendar if I want to be sure to get a reminder on my PC!. This isn't ideal though. Does anyone have a better solution? I read that the latest Outlook 2016 doesn't sync at all so I can't upgrade Office. I wish MS and Apple would decide to work together instead of trying to defeat each other!!

I believe icloud will sync with windows 10 mail and calendar apps - is that true?

I've also heard of emclient being good but haven't tried it.

I'd really appreciate any input.

I will start at the beginning, it has been a frustrating couple of days since I had to reformat my hard drive.

I reformatted and reinstalled Windows XP Pro sp1. I put the Microsoft firewall up to get the MS updates, and then I reinstalled Norton. I have a bug in my system that seems to be contained, for now that is.

I reinstalled office XP, and then i downloaded the update (SP3). I am not getting an alert that says that something is trying to get access to my Outlook contacts. I assume that it is my Hotmail account (yes, I do have the ability to download). I get the alert, click "OK" four or five times, and then Outlook locks up.

When I reformatted, I lost the software Sprint gave me to sync my Samsung i500 with Outlook. When I contacted them, they said tough, I had to buy more software. Frustrated, I broke down and bought Chapura. Now, I am probably so frustrated that I cannot get it started to sync even once.

Microsoft is now ignoring my requests for help to gain access to MSN mobile through my handheld. Does anyone have any infomration on how to get to msn mobile even though mobile.msn.com does not take me to a personalized homepage to get my information?

I am an intermediate user, so I know my way around a bit. I have a hijack this log available, as well as a Belarc run. Let me know if you need anything to help me with this problem. I am just frustrated.

Thanks.

I have windows 7 and outlook 2010 on a PC. When linking to icloud and enabling it to synch with icloud, icloud took the contacts off my computer (at least it seems that way). In trying to resolve the issue and talking with Apple and Omnitech, a variety of solutions were tried. I now have all my contacts in the right categories showing up on my PC, but it appears that they are not on the PC but in the cloud. My goal is to copy one of my categories, mailing list, into a  new separate folder in the folder list in order to use it to merge with Word and make labels. In the past, I could right click on the mailing list category and drag it to the new folder that I created. It would then ask if I wanted it to copy the file there or move it. I copied it to the new folder and then was able to merge it with word. Currently, when I try to drag the file to the folder, it indicates that this action can not be done. It appears to me that the reason this is occurring is that the contact file is in the cloud not on the computer.  ?? I would like to create a file with my contacts on the PC with the contacts in the right categories and not duplicating what is currently showing up from the cloud. I believe once I do this I will again be able to copy the category to the new folder.

I have a new Windows 10 laptop and I have migrated most everything from my previous laptop that I wanted and everything has been working pretty good up to now. I use Outlook 2007 for POP3 email and had installed in on the new LT and moved my PST and all was working good with email, contacts and calendar after much help from here: https://forums.techguy.org/threads/...le-on-new-windows-10-pc.1163278/#post-9186499. Yesterday I decided to move my iTunes from the old LT to the new LT and I installed ITunes and ICloud on the new LT and synced it with my iPhone 6. Thought all was well until this morning when I'm checking my POP3 email account. All my email downloaded no problem and I was able to read everything. When I went to send email I found that iCloud had emptied my Contacts and replaced it with iCloud contacts which essentially is the ones that I had on my phone. (My iPhone contacts are still there.) If I click the "To" field in the email it does bring up my outlook contacts that I had on my computer before the iCloud debacle and it does let me select them. However when I send them I get an immediate undeliverable message from system administrator saying:

Like a fool I dowloaded iCloud and sent all my contacts to iCloud. Now, when I open a contact and make a notation then want to enter a reminder, I get the message "the item is in a folder that does not support reminders". Well, something like that. How can I go back to the way it was - without iCloud? I don't want iCloud. All the help is on Apple forum and I own a PC.

When I was using iCloud (I stopped because it gave me too many headaches) I deleted a recurring event and now I keep getting hundreds and hundreds of Appointment Series deletions showing in my Deleted folder.

If I do a search for one of the words in the appointment name, then delete all those items from the Deleted folder, they are not deleted and simply reappear.

Every once in a while, I have to go to my Deleted folder to find something but my deleted emails are scattered amongst these hundreds of Appointment Series deletions.

I would sure appreciate your help!!

Thanks so much.....Richard

Yesterday, my Outlook (2010) stopped retrieving e-mail from the Comcast server.  When I tried to fix it today, it still wouldn't work.  All the settings were correct, but it wouldn't retrieve my e-mail.  I deleted the account and recreated it.  Now, Outlook points to a new .pst file instead of my old Outlook.pst file, named [email protected]  To make matters worse, it doesn't delete the mail off the server.  Before, when I would open Outlook, it would download new message to my Inbox and delete them off the server.  The new messages would stay permanently in my Outlook inbox.  No more.  Now if I manually delete one through my Internet browser, it also deletes it out of my Outlook Inbox.  It’s as though the new account is just a window to the Comcast e-mail server.  I tried changing the Root Folder Path on the Advanced tab of the e-mail account settings to point to the location of my Outlook.pst folder, but that made no difference.  I also tried deleting a recent Microsoft update (KB3054976), but this did not help, either. This is a complete disaster for me, as I can't even send e-mail now, except through the server.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A:Outlook 2010 e-mail account won't sync to Outlook.pst file

I figured this out.  When I reconfigured my e-mail account in Outlook, I used IMAP settings instead of POP3.  This was not how I did it before.  IMAP works great if one wants to keep all e-mail out on the server and access it from various devices.  That isn't what I do.  I changed the profile to POP3 and the poblem was solved.  Still don't know why it initially failed two nights ago, though.

I have used my Office Outlook 2016 syncing with my Msn.com email for years, and as of 10/12/16, my outlook started to have issues. Nothing I did on the outlook synced up with the online emails nor anything that attacked that account (my iPad/iPhone) but whatever I did on those reflected.

For example, I deleted out my junk on Outlook, and it would not reflect that change, but I was still getting new emails into my Outlook.

I tried a couple of things, then removed my msn.com email, and restarted. When I tried to reconnect back to my email, (add email) it would always restart office outlook. Has done this every single day, though I can retrieve and do everything from my apple products or through the online Outlook (aka outlook live). But since I have tons of windows open, I don't need to try to keep track of my email when outlook did this. (the office products)

To make it more interesting, my Gmail accounts are still all linked and working through the office outlook. (it's sad when google is working better than their Microsoft's own email system!) I have restarted, repaired and done everything, even checked my privacy settings which are all set up correctly.

Has anyone else had these issues, and can help me?

Hello.

I use Outlook 2013 to manage my mails. I have different mailadresses from different hosters. Until now I used pop3 to retrieve my Mail, but now I want to synchronize my Mails between the Desktop-PC (Win 8.1) and the Tablet (Surface RT). Therefore I wanted to use my Outlook.com-adress, but actually this doesn't work as easy as I had expected. The Problem is, that I don't want to have severals In-Boxes, Out-Boxes etc for the different Mail-Accounts. With Pop3 I could receive all my mails in one single .pst-File. As far as I know this is not possible with the .ost-File, which is saved with the creation of a Exchange ActiveSync Account. And if I would accept two In-Boxes etc., so that I receive my Mails with the old Settings and move the Mails into the Outlook.com-Account, this also doenst work, because it isn't possible to move Mails from my .pst- to my .ost-File. The other way around it works.
Another possibility would be to forward the Mails to the outlook.com-Account, but then I wouldn't be able to send Mails from the different Accounts within Outlook.

So does anybody know a Solution for my Problem? I'll try to sum up what I want to do:
receive and send Mails from different hosters with Outlook 2013use my Outlook.com-Account to sync my mails, calender and contactsuse as little as possible In-Boxes, Out-Boxes etc.if necessary - moving Mails from one Account to the Outlook.com-account to synchronize

I hope someone can help me ...

Not sure if this is in the right forum so sorry mods if not.

I use outlook for my business (driving instructor) great for calendar and contact details etc.

Out on the road I have a tablet PC that I use for all my records of lessons. (I keep all records on shared folder on my home PC and a briefcase on the Tablet PC and sync the 2 whenever I leave for work and then again when I return)

Can I drag a copy of my outlook PST file (or the whole folder) into my briefcase that I keep on the tablet pc so that I can use outlook calendar for booking next appointments and then any changes I make to outlook calendar out on the road will be synced to my home outlook once I return.

At the moment, I'm syncing my home outlook to my Nokia N73 which is great apart from the crappy keypad which makes to-do notes etc a bit time consuming.

Hope all this makes sense - I think there may be issues with syncing outlook (something to do with exchange) but I don't know much about that

Thanks for any advice coming my way

How can you sync Outlook 2003 contacts between 4 computers on a small home network?

A:Sync Outlook contacts

Hi there, welcome to the board!

Well, you could point them all to the same pst file. Or you could just export the data (File | Export...) on the main machine, and then import on the other 3. Not sure what else you're going for. The export/import is probably the easiest way, because you can specify just the contacts on export. But doing it that way will not export updates. On the other hand, if you did have updates you could do the export/import cycle again, and then on import just select to update values (do what you want with duplicates).

Many times a password will be "padded" to a greater length, helps prevent guessing at that the password is if someone is looking over your shoulder. One nice thing with Win10 is most password boxes have a eye with eyebrow at the right end, click and hold to see the actual letters. Release the mouse and it's hidden again.

As for Outlook, kindly use the proper names. Outlook is part of Microsoft Office and is an installed E-Mail Client. That is not to be confused with Outlook.com which is a Web/Online E-Mail function as is Hotmail.com. The Mail app in Win10 seems to give lots of people trouble. I have a home network here. It works fine! I have two computers I use for business use during the day. Both have outlook 2000 on them. One computer is WIN 98 and the other is WIN ME.

During the day I do engraving. While the machine is on I take care on business downstairs on the WIN ME computer. I do my quotes etc. I normally do short jobs so I'm running back and forth to the computer and engraver. During the afternoon I do the long engraving jobs, and go upstairs to use the WIN 98 computer. Outlook stores all its data in one file called "outlook.pst." It may be that you just need to tell Windows to show hidden files...otherwise, the search feature won't find it.

On both computers, open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer), go to Tools>Folder Options>View tab, find and check "Show hidden files and folder," click OK.

Sorry.....I meant it to say MS Outlook on 2 laptops or online ?
Finally picked up new laptop (bought 2 years ago!) in the States so I now have two running. I have been using 2007 Professional Plus on the old laptop and have just installed it on the newer one.

What is the best way of syncing these two Outlooks? Hopefully.........free.

OR

I only use Outlook for Emails (4 accounts), Calendar with birthdays etc, and Contacts with basic information. So, since I really do not take full advantage of Outlook, is there something free online where I use all my accounts in one place......like outlook?
BTW, if it helps, my accounts are all with gmail and yahoo uk.

I have Microsoft Outlook on desktop and notebook (and probably ipad as well).

I just wish I could set it up that I only receive current mail on whatever computer I am on, instead of all three of them downloading the same mail, which means if I delete an email on desktop for instance, I then have to delete it manually from the others. I just seem to have the same email everywhere. Is there a way of just receiving emails on whatever computer I am on - and them not coming up on the other computers?

So I installed Office 2010 a few weeks back, and since then I haven't been able to use HTC sync to back up contacts, calendar entries or anything to at all to do with Outlook. I keep getting the same damn error:

"Either there is no default email client or the current mail client cannot fulfil the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client".

I figured this was incompatibility since Outlook 2010 was new at the time and HTC Sync had been released beforehand. The problem though, is that there's been a new version of HTC Sync since, with a completely new style and everything, but it still doesn't work.

Has anyone sorted this problem out?

I had trouble syncing my MS Outlook calendar with my HTC Desire - appointments would go in one direction, but not the other. Several sources suggested this was because I was using an old version of Outlook (2002, so seemed fair criticism). However, since I have upgraded to Outlook 2010, HTC Sync doesn't shift Calendar information in either direction! The 'Calendar' option on the HTC Sync screen is greyed out. There is some kind of connection between phone and PC (Win XP SP3), because I have succeeeded in moving photos, so this seems likely to be a software issue. Any suggestions?

Hi.
I have problems with Outlook for Mac at my company. The computers are both runnning the latest version of Outlook for Mac and both computers get synchronization error messages claiming that the client cannot synchronize the email. (Followed by the email title). Please note that this only happens to these two computers while all other Mac Airs functions well.

The first computer can both send and receive messages without trouble (He still gets the mail).
I've checked the logs of the exchange server but no alerts or warnings has been issued from this client.
I've also checked his settings on the exchange server but everything was in order.
The user claims that this has been going on for about a year.

The second computer, however, can receive emails but CANNOT send mail.
This computer hasn't generated any warnings or alerts on the server side either. And its settings are correct.
I also tried to re-establish the account on a different machine and I got the same error messages.
The mail-account works splendid in Outlook on a Windows 7 machine.

I've searched the web for something similar to these two problems but I have so far turned up nothing.
Does anyone here ever encountered something similar or knows of a way to fix these problems?

I'll try to get a picture of the error logs as soon as possible.

EDIT : The second computers Outlook worked until recently and according to the user the problem came "out of nowhere".

A:Solved: Sync error in Outlook for Mac

Excuse me for the double post. Suddenly I can't edit anymore(?).

Anyway. I finally got a look at the "detailed" part of the error message of computer #1s problem.
Unfortunately it doesn't say anything else from what I've previously posted but I managed to get the error code at least.

I seem to get error code 18493 but as written above everything works as it should. (apart from the multiple error messages)

The user also told me that he re-installed Outlook for Mac in December and removed and reconnected his mail account about a week ago.

My boss thought it might be Kerberos-authentication, which have caused problems in the past, but the user does not use kerberos to authenticate towards the server.

Any thoughts on diagnostics or solutions would be much appreciated.

Our IT people have been very good with syncing our employees iPhones with our web server email, but they are having an issue with my blackberry. My email is set up as a Pop3 and I have tried everything I can think of in terms of setting up my phone. My other email accounts through Comcast set up in just a few seconds. Is there a good step-by-step guide out there for this process? We do not have the Blackberry server software, but I was told that isn't necessary for this basic syncing of email. I've tried as work around by having my Outlook 2003 on my laptop(which works fine in terms of syncing with the server) to forward emails to a new comcast account that my phone could access. This doesn't seem to work and it has some faults to the whole idea of connecting. I assume my laptop would have to be on for this to work. I'm out of my league here and am desperate for help. A:Sync 2 Differnt Versions of Outlook?

This depends on how you have Outlook configured.

If you have Exchange, everything will sync automatically on the Exchange server. All you need to do here is make sure that both of your Outlook's point to the same mailbox on the same server.

If you are using "internet mail" (ie/ POP3), then your best bet is to locate the PST file in a location that is easily accessible by both computers, then tell each copy of Outlook to point to that location. The drawbacks with this are the possibility of duplicate messages (if you set both copies of Outlook to retrieve mail; and also you will only be able to use one copy of Outlook at a time, due to file-locking.

Hi All,

I have an idea and I'd really really like people's thoughts about it.

I want to sync my .pst files between my desktop and laptop and have been trying to find a solution for ages (that does not cost me anything that is ).

I sync my emails with Yahoo using POP3.

My idea is this.

1. move the default location of my .pst and archive .pst to a specific shared folder on my PC, and then ensure that outlook 2003 can still find it and won't want to redownload all my emails held on the Yahoo server.

2. setup outlook 2003 on the laptop and again move the default location of the .pst and archive .pst to a specified shared folder. (I want to be able to access the yahoo POP3 server with outlook on the laptop, again without having to worry about all my old emails being redownloaded)

3 use synctoy 2 to sync the .pst file and archive .pst files over my network.

I am hoping that if I get it right I can download emails, change the calendar, complete a task or whatever in either copy of the .pst file, then just hit sync with synctoy and voilą - both .pst files are up to date.

What do people think?

I have never used sync toy and when I've tried do things with .pst files in the past I end up downloading all my old emails again. I don't delete them from the server when I download them, as I like to know they're safe.

Will.

My problem is that I just started using Outlook 2003 to access my stuff. I am getting sync errors everytime I sync. I get an error syncing the public address book. Also my public folders do not show up in Outlook, nor does my "Sync Issues" folder. All of this stuff works fine if I bring it up in OWA. Does any one have any idea of how to get these to work???

For some weird reason it all showed up today and then went away when I clicked the "Mail" tab. Don't know what that was all about. So I know it can work... Just don't know how.

Hello,

I am a placement student and am looking at ways to make things easier at my company. I am wondering if there is a way to sync excel with outlook calender by entering info into an excel spreadsheet and it automaticly enter into outlook?

Tasks are all stored in an excel file, there is a different tab for every month, the jobs are listed in column A and the dates are listed across the top of the spreadsheet. The name of the person who will be doing the job is in the appropriate cell linking the job with the date so installers know where they are supposed to be. All installers have recently been provided with iPhones we are hoping to link these phones to a shared outlook calender but currently awaiting an upgrade to the latest exchange server as the current one won't allow for multiple calenders (so the shared one does not currently show). I hope this will work when we are updated!

Anyway..I am wondering if there is a way to link our spreadsheets with this shared calender when it is set up as it would be extremely helpful for the installers to have access to this info when on the go without us having to manually enter into the shared calender.

We are currently running Office 2010 and Exchange 2003 soon to update to the latest (2011 I think)

If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated! and sorry to say that I don't understand codes etc. so if someone could talk me through it if that's the case it would be much appreciated!

I have high speed internet at both ends and I'd like to keep them in sync. w/o having to carry a memory stick back and forth UNLESS that's absolutely the best way to do it.

I don't have a solution to why Outlook is having problems. For her problem with needing a read a particular e-mail, can't she just use the web based Yahoo interface and read her e-mail. It should also let her download any attachments.

What anti-virus software is she running? Some software may require modifying the typical user name and password data to work correctly.

What version of Outlook is she using and what is the operating system?

Has Outlook ever worked with the old password while she was at college?

A client of mine would like to sync his workstation PC with his secondary workstation at another location. They want to do this without exchange, as it is a costly venture, and he is the only one in the company who wants it.

I looked into the program Sync2, However when syncing it doesn't preserve his timestamps when he received the e-mails. And it doesn't sync subfolders he has in his inbox. So i am looking for alternatives. Are any of you aware of them? Sub $100 would be best, But i'm sure if it's under the cost of exchange he'll take it.

A:Outlook Sync programs without exchange

Could you be slightly more specific? Are you saying he is currently connected to a POP service and wants the emails synced? Is this why you're suggesting Exchange? If he is already connected to an Exchange server are you asking about syncing the PST files?

I have been using Code Two Outlook Sync successfully with 2 laptops for some moths now.

Both PCs are using Windows 10 and Office 2016

Today both Windows 10 and Office 2016 went through routine updates.

So I now have

Outlook 2016
Office Version 16.0.6965.2058

Windows 10 version 1511
Build 10586.420

Code 2 Outlook Sync
Version 1.0.17.0

I tried to sync Outlook this morning. C2OS loaded OK on both machines, and connected OK as usual. However when I clicked on the Sync button I got the Windows message "Code 2 Outlook Sync has stopped working". It made no difference on which machine I initiated "Sync" - message was the same for both.

I'm assuming one of the updates has changed something which has upset C2OS.

If anyone is familiar with this programme or has had similar issues after the latest Windows 10/Outlook 2016 updates I'd appreciate any insight on the problem.

I have of course contacted Code Two's support & am waiting for their reply.

Hello,

We are using Exchange 2003 server and outlook 2003 client. I am having problems with recurring meetings with people that invite me for a meeting from other parts of the world within our company. We did a test where the person from our China office put the meeting on my calendar for Wednesday 6 PM my time(9 AM Thursday in China). It shows up fine in outlook before I sync however, the date somehow changes to Thursday 6 PM my time after I sync it with my palm. It would appear that the communications between the Palm Pilot and Outlook is flawed. It does the time calculation correctly but then it uses the recurring day of Thursday China time instead of the using my local date. I already checked the time zones and they are already set. This only happens on recurring meetings and doesn't happen for a one time meeting. The outlook date is still correct but the palm pilot date is the one that changed. I'm using XP. Has anybody seen this before? Is this outlook problem or palm problem?

Hi, I am trying to make an excel file link to an Outlook Calendar. Basically I have three columns: Subject, Date, Body, Contact. Ideally I would like to make an appointment for every row. The subject would be the subject of the appointment, the date is when the reminder would go off, the body will read the same thing every time "This proposal was submitted 60 days ago," and the contact is the person who should receive the reminder. Just like how you invite people to an event or meeting in Outlook. This list will be actively added to, so I have included a button to run the macro to update the calendar. Unfortunately I have only have gotten Outlook to pop up and then it runs into errors when trying to create the appointment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am running in Excel 2010, and have a bit of experience in VBA but have never done something quite like this. Thanks!

For two-way calendar synchronization, Google provides Google Calendar Sync. You can synchronize calendar items between your primary Outlook calendar and a Google Calendar. This application is produced and supported by Google.

I am running Outlook 2003. I have a POP3 account connected to a 3rd party email hosting company. I also have another MS Exchange email account. I also use ActiveSync to sync my POP3 to my PDA.

I want my 2 email calendars to sync with each other so both calendars look exactly the same. It had been doing this on its own on the initial setup of both email accounts, but it has since stopped.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this from within Outlook? Like I said, on the initial setup, it just auto-magic-ally did it. I had to uninstall/re-install ActiveSync and since then it has not been working.

Some questions about Windows 8 People (contacts) and Calendar:

1) For Start/People, the contacts appear to be seamlessly synced with Outlook.com, which is fine, but is there a direct way to link it to my Outlook 2010 desktop contacts? Currently I configred Win 8 People to access my Gmail account (as my Gmail contacts are already a synced copy of my Outlook 2010 contacts). So right now, everything is in sync using this path:Outlook 2010 (Source) >> Gmail contacts >> Outlook.com/Win 8 PeopleIs there a better way?

2) For Start/Calendar, the calendar entries appear to be seamlessly synced with Outlook.com, which is fine, but is there a direct way to access my Outlook 2010 desktop calendar? I did not see any configuration option on where to point Win 8 calendar to (like I saw in People) . What I did for now is add the Outlook.com account to my Outlook 2010 profile and from there auto-populate it (synced) from Gmail calendar. So right now, everything is in sync using this path:Outlook 2010 (Source) <> Gmail calendar >> Outlook 2010 (Outlook.com account) > Win 8 CalendarIs there a better way?

Thanks.

I wish to be able to enter date into Outlook Calendar and have it sync with Excel.

I'm aware of import and export options but this is too cumbersome - much better if they synchronised each time the calendar was changed.

Specifically, I want to put bookings into the calendar and then have that information in an Excel sales log to track type of booking, date, location etc.

Is this possible? If so, how easy it to do?

Thanks in advance for any answers

A:How to sync Outlook 2103 and Excel

Welcome to TSG Stu, Sorry you haven't had much luck on your post.

There was discussion on TSG Post 972770 that discusses some what your wanting to do.

I'll paraphrase and say "Don't try to run a business from an email program'. It's cumbersome and never works correctly. Outlook wasn't designed to interface with other application, though there are some whizzes out there that make it do things...My experience.. it would be faster, better and easier maintained in something else.

You hit it on the head when you mentioned..import/export was cumbersom. It only gets worse from there.

Hi,

I have windows xp, professional, 2002, sp3
and 2007 outlook.

When I try to open outlook, it proceeds to close and I get the following error:

"The Add-in "WMCOutlookAddIn.dll" (C:\Program Files\LG Outlook Sync\WMCOutlookAddIn.dll) cannot be loaded and has been disabled by Outlook. Please contact the Add-in manufacturer for an update. If no update is availabel, please uninstall the Add-in."

I uninstalled the LG Outlook Sync, so I cannot follow the path to remove the dll file. I tried opening Outlook in safe to disable the Add-in with this:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\OUTLOOK.EXE" /safe

It starts but then I still get the error that shuts down the program.

I hope this is detailed enough. thanks!

Did that
They then said to reboot.

Hi,

I just signed up for MS Outlook Live. In doing so my msn account has different mail, calendar, tasks, and contact folders to actively sync with my msn account. This is great; however, it did create one small problem which I know can be fixed (i just don't know how to fix it). I sync my PDA with my outlook; however, being that my new Outlook Live folders are not my default sync folders now... my PDA will not sync with my accounts correctly. Does anyone know how to set up your Outlook Live folders to sync with your PDA?

Thank you,

McCoyNet

Somehow I ended up with two folders in my Outlook Contacts. I have no idea how long ago the second one was formed, or why I did it, but just imagine the mess I created over at least the past year when I tried to sync my Outlook Contacts with "Card Scan" business card reader and my HTC Incredible phone using DejaOffice and went back and forth among the 3.

One of the folders is named "Contacts" and the other is named "Contacts in Personal Folders." The problem is that I did not realize that they both existed and thus I never knew when I switched (somehow) from one to the other during the above mentioned syncs.

Here is where I am now. I printed out all of the remaining contacts (many have been lost because of the mix and match syncing) from both folders and after examining them, made them equal. The information in "Contacts" is the same as that in Contacts in Personal Folders." Now what I want to do is eliminate one of these and then let the remaining Contact folder override the card scan and DejaOffice programs so all 3 are equal. My questions are:

1. How do I eliminate one of the Contact folders and which one should it be?
2. How do I make sure that the remaining Contact folder is the one I have been backing up each time I shut down Outlook or will the next backup take care of that?

Sometimes I feel pretty good when I resolve a program problem, etc. but right now I feel dumber than a tree stump.

Any suggestions or guidance wou... Read more

I have both a Blackberry and a HP Jornada. I would like to sync them both to my Outlook, but only to the off line information - I don't want this info to be shared with everyone. However, when I hook up my devices and I am out of the office (not hooked up to the network) I can not sync either device. Is there a way to still have Outlook hooked up to the exchange server and load/sync my devices while offline and not have anyone see this info when I go back to my office and hook back into the network and thus the Exchange server?

Do I make that clear?!?!

I see references to "Microsoft Windows Mobile" that imply it can sync Outlook with cell phones but everything I can find talks about using it on handheld devices. I'm looking for PC software that will do this. I found Motorola (my cell phone brand) Mobile PhoneTools but feel that a MS product might give better connectivity to Outlook.
