I have a desktop computer (info above),with a super slow Internet connection--only one bar is showing. I also have a laptop computer on the same connection that is showing four bars. Both computer are in the same room use a wireless connection. Why does my laptop connect with no problem, while my desktop is so slow nothing is able to load?

Thanks again!

A: Desktop Won't Load Page, but laptop does

Sounds like the Desktop's WiFi device may have a disconnected antenna, or conflicting with some nearby interference or it may be a flaky/failing WiFi device.

If I click on the IE10 tile in metro view a webpage opens OK.I then click on the spanner icon and select "view on desktop". IE10 opens but the page won't load.
This is quite annoying as a lot of pages use plugins such as flash and these cannot be viewed in the metro view.

Any suggestion would be welcomed.

A:IE10 wont load a page in desktop view

That's strange. In that case I would suggest you to stay on Metro view .

I am not sure how this started or what exactly I did to create this but I cannot get IE to run on my Windows 8 machine. This is a fairly new (one month old) laptop I bought with Windows 8 on it.

IE was working OK on this machine, but I must have done something wrong over the weekend. I also installed Firefox over the weekend too (out of frustration with IE, could that have caused a problem?). Firefox is operating fine, so I know I have a functional internet connection. When I open IE, it just spins its wheels forever and times out, regardless of what site I am trying to open.

I disabled all add-ons in IE (Tools | Programs | Manage Add-Ons and disabled all).

I "reset" IE doing the following steps:
a. Press Windows key + R then type ?inetcpl.cpl? without quotes and press Enter.
b. Under Advanced tab, click on Reset.
c. Check the Delete personal settings box.
d. Click on Reset and then Close.

I have restarted my laptop. I can run Firefox fine but cannot get anything to load in IE. I'm lost. Any ideas?

I am having trouble connecting to a particular wireless network with my pc laptop. I can see the router and have very good signal strength, and while the laptop says it is connected, when I try to load any webpages, they just continuously try to load, with nothing coming up but a blank white page. I've been in contact with my ISP, who has been absolutely no help at all. They are assuming it's the laptop; however, I am able to use this laptop elsewhere to connect to wireless networks all the time--this is the first trouble I've had.

Forgive me, I'm not extremely computer savvy, but here is what I've done so far: cmd prompt-ipconfig...says ipv6 is connected (isp talked me through that). Then, they walked me through ping, which did not work because no page came up again. They had me doublecheck all the options in internet options, which, according to them, was correct.

I'm at a loss here because it seems like nobody can help. The laptop is connected to the internet (lower right hand corner of screen says "currently connected to snouffer net, access: local and internet - and the earth symbol is in front of the icon, indicating I am in fact connected), but no web pages.

Please, if anyone can help?

In 2003, I bought a Toshiba Satellite 2455-S305 that came loaded with Windows XP and has SP2 added. This evening when I booted it up, the usual log in screen came up and accepted my password. It loads as far as the Toshiba default wallpaper and then does nothing. The mouse pointer is visible and can be moved with the touchpad. I can illuminate the CAPS Lock, but there is no other indication that the keyboard is responding. It does not respond to the Cntrl/Alt/Delete command. I'm expecting to see the the 'Windows is Starting up' Window, but it just freezes at the default wallpaper. I have no idea if the system has crashed. In the early stages, the HD light flashes as though it's being accessed, but when it gets to a point, the HD light stops flashing and you can tell that the only thing spinning is the underbody fan.

I have not tried "Safe Mode," and am uncertain how to get there from this stagnated point. Also, I do not know how to get to the "Last Known Good." I tried some research on this forum, but haven't found exactly how to address my problem with confidence.

As I was typing this post, I got the "Low Battery Warning" advising me to switch to a wall socket. So something is working, but after plugging it in, nothing further happens.

Hi I really hope someone can help me!

I have a fujitsu lifebook with windows 7 on it
I had an error message pop up when i tried to click on google chrome this morning, so I closed it and attempted to re-start my laptop, then AVG pops up telling me I have a virus so I allowed it to "clear" said virus. I then restarted my laptop and it would not go to the login page.

I attempted system repair to no avail, I then allowed chkdsk to run and there were a lot of "security ID repairs", I have also tried f12 and booting from my windows 7 installation disk. Non of these options have worked

I get the fujitsu screen, then the windows loading screen then instead of the log in screen which would be next, I get a black screen with the cursor visable and you can move the cursor but nothing else works and no keyboard shortcuts work

someone please help.
I've been told to restore the OS but i cannot afford to lose all the files on my laptop

A:Laptop wont load past windows page, stuck with black screen and cursor

Since AVG 'cleaned' a virus - all bets r off as the problem could be a leftover from the virus. apparently, a (some) system files r damaged. Going forward, u might not want to run normally as an admin user. That helps keep malware from invisibly installing if the AV does not catch it. 1. have u tried booting to safe mode? If u can get there try this clk Start - type CMD -- rt clk cmd.exe and select Run as Admin when the dos window opens type 'sfc /scannow' let it run retry boot when done. 2. If u can't get there or that doesn't work put ur windows CD in and boot to that. Run the repair install - or it might be called upgrade. Just do NOT do a CLEAN install. That will not erase any of your data. 3. If that does not work If u get a Hiren's boot disk, or something similar. U can boot to that and most likely copy ur data from the drive prior to doing a clean install. This assumes the drive isn't corrupt which appears to be true since it gets to the Windows screen. 4. If not u will have to remove the drive and connect it to another computer as an external HDD to copy the data. 5. If none of the above works - u have come to the complete understanding of the word BACKUP................ good luck

A:My Desktop load game slower than laptop? Why

A few things to look at. First would be what else is running at the time you start the game. Open taskmanager and see how many task each machine has.
Second would be the spin speed of the driver and access time of the drives could be different your laptop might have a faster drive over the desktop but its hard to say without full system specs of both machines.

Hi, any help on this matter greatly appreciated! though not looking for any answers telling me to take it to a specialist or buy a certain part at all, I know about all that.
So my desktop runs smooth, win7 as well. Got a toshiba brand laptop harddrive that I'm sure is broken, connects perfectly to the motherboard and is detected in the BIOS aswell.
When I run the PC with both harddrives connected it goes to the motherboard splash screen then proceeds to "Starting Windows", doesn't freeze, but doesn't make it passed that point.
I have it set in the BIOS to run my main harddrive. If I unplug the laptop hardddrive, it boots perfectly to windows desktop. I've tried safe mode, same thing happens as above.
The main thing is I'm only trying to retreive data off of the broken laptop harddrive and don't actually want it to boot, but it appears to be loading it's drivers and attempting to boot both.
I'm not a total proffesional, understand computers to a good degree, but not on this matter. So a tech savy response is welcome. I realise I may be looking at things completely wrong and this might be completely impossible but hey it's worth a shot.
Thank you in advance bleeping computer community. If you don't have an account to login to to comment here, my email is [removed to protect from spambots] (without the spaces )
(both harddrives are win7 if that is of convenience)

A:How do you load a broken laptop harddrive from a desktop, win7

IME...when a failing hard drive is attached to a Windows times, Windows cannot boot properly because the system mechanism for detecting working components (hard drive, RAM, etc.) cannot detect the failing drive.
Thus the system can boot normally if the questionable drive is removed...cannot complete boot cycle if failing drive is attached.

Since it works properly in Safe Mode, you could use the tutorial below to troubleshoot with a clean startup to see if it may help ID the cause of this. Otherwise, you could try using an older restore point.

I have an ASUS K72F laptop running Windows 7, and it has always worked fine with both wired and wireless connections. I recently changed Internet provider from BT to Plusnet, though I cannot be sure that this is when the problem began.

It still works fine when wired, but when I switch the wireless on and unplug the ethernet cable, it says that there is a strong connection to the network with internet access, and I am able to find the router by putting into the browser, but I cannot load any Internet pages on any browser, and cannot use any other Internet apps like Skype. The wireless works fine on another laptop and on my phone - it is just on this Asus laptop.

I have tried searching for posts of various forums - but have just ended up using command prompt to ping google (it was not successful) and running a utility called winsockfix, which made no difference. I have scanned for malware and virus - I have removed a couple, but this hasn't fixed the problem.

Can anyone please help?

I have to do a manual refresh from the browser to see the latest version. Not a problem for me, but other viewers of the page may not realize they aren't seeing the latest information.

I recently came across a "corrupted" laptop (love how people call things to do with computers corrupted when they can't figure out how to fix it) to fix, it's a Dell Latitude D630 with windows xp home installed.

When i got it, booting up to windows would result in blue screen error after windows xp loading screen 100% of the time in normal mode, and would hang on mup.sys in safe mode (left it booting into safemode for about 6-7hours while i slept at mup.sys and never loaded past it). I decided to do a repair install, got through it all perfectly fine, entered the product key from the sticker on the bottom, worked fine. Booted up again, got past the xp screen to login screen and got the message "this copy of windows must be activated with microsoft before you can log on" can choose "Ok" or "Close" i believe, basically yes or no.. reguardless of what i click, it loads into windows to the desktop, and does not load anything else. ctrl+alt+del doesn't bring up taskmanager. in safemode everything works how it should, msconfig running processes are all normal, nothing out of the ordinary, as well as in services, closed everything except critical processes/services, made a new user as well and logged into that account, get the same activation message and loads to desktop with no icons and still no ctrl+alt+del/start menu/icons/any keyboard shortcut, however windows security center popped up on new account saying there was no anti-virus (woo... A:Can I Load My Dell XP Desktop Disc on Dell Laptop?

What do you mean by dying ? It would be senseless to reinstall, eg, if your HD was "dying".

As far as I know, an Install disk is not different for a desktop and Laptop. It will configure the OS based on the hardware you have on the laptop. Backup what you need from the laptop, and have at it.

First of all, the Network logo that normaly appears in the task bar has gone missing. When you right click>Properties and then try to tick Network, the grey tick box has been locked, so you can not select it.

Secondly, When I go to Network and Sharing center it come's up The Page Failed To Load.

Can anyone help?

I am looking at purchasing a PVR here in Oz and for post purchase support I need to access the companies web page

Each time I try to access it I have dramas and it wont fully load. It seems to hang with "25 items remaining - waiting for" or similar in the botton LHS tool bar.

It seems to be all the pictures on the page that wont download.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 and IE7.

I'm only on a 56k dial-up connection, could that be the problem? Could this site just be too much for dial-up to handle? Seems weird when every other site I go to works fine.

Is there some way for some guru to tell me why this site in particular is causing me dramas?

I've contacted their email support and they say they are having no problems with their website. Other users on broadband are having no worries either.

Maybe I have to get broadband for this site?

I came across a website that has been giving me a lot of problems. I had to register for the site and I can login and get to the homepage, but I cannot click a single link without it hanging up. I cannot even reload the homepage after this happens. I have found that if I delete the cookies from that site, I can reload the login screen and sign back in, but it acts the same as before. I am using Firefox, and when I try it in IE, the homepage won't even load.

I went to the library at school and loaded the page fine, so it isn't the website. I was even using the U3 Firefox browser on my flash drive in the computer at school when it worked, and that same U3 browser won't work at home.

I am set up on a wireless connection through a Linksys router, and what I have read that may be a source of the problem. I have tried disabling the firewall on the router but that didn't work. This is the only website I have ever had trouble with so I really have no idea what to do.

Any help would be much appreciated.

A:Web page won't load...the only one

I did some further investigating and found that if I set my cookie option to "ask me every time" and accept all cookies when I log in except for the PHPSESSID cookie, and keep denying it, the site works fine.

Anyone have any ideas as to why that cookie doesn't sit well with my browser? This cookie is in the parent cookie folder for the site, so is there any way to block only that "sub-cookie"?

I have been trying to get to for a few days now, and can't get it to load. At first I figured maybe the site was down... didn't occur to me until today to ask others to see if it loaded for them, and it did just fine.

So. I checked my hosts file.. nothing there.
tried pinging via cmd, can't ping.
tried loading the site by IP, doesn't load.

Seems to just be me... what else could I do to resolve this?

I'm using IE6 and windows2k... also tried loading in the latest Opera and that didn't work.

I have an (older) internet pen pal with dialup. She runs IE 7 on a Win 7 Home Premium system. (OIK...I'll send her an IE 8 CD)

Meantime, there are certain pages she just can't open - for instance:

Learn where menu and toolbar commands are in Office 2010 and related products - Support - Microsoft Office

She can't tell me any reason - like error messages - only that they won't display. (She's not very tech savvy)

I was assuming that it would not be security setting, being an MS page and all, but I don't know enough about this stuff.

Anyone else know?

IE8 comes automatically with Windows 7, unless she bought the OS recently in Europe, where this is forbidden by European Union. Nevertheless, I fail to see why she would use IE7...
If she really uses Win7, and really wants to use IE, point her towards BeautyOfTheWeb so she can download Ie9 RC.

I've been working with the hard drive forum after my older Gateway computer crashed, and they've helped me install the drive, re-load the software, add SpyBot, etc. but now I have a problem with IE 6.0, where I can't get to open so I can check my email. I've been able to get other sites to come up, however, when I type in the address and hit go nothing happens (other than the text highlights in blue). I checked under Privacy and cookie handling and was listed. I checked allow (didn't help), and then deleted it (still didn't help). I tried lowering security to low (didn't work). Is there something else I should do? When I went out to the Microsoft web site, I saw that there is a IE 6.0 sp1 available which I haven't downloaded yet, but I'm not sure that it will help, since I can get other web sites to open. Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated!

A:IE 6.0 won't load web page

Hi Cktrout5,
I am not a network guru, but I would download IE6 sp1 and see what happens. This should not have any ill effects on the OS and it will not only repair your IE6 (if thats the problem), but will give you better security and performance. I would also download all the Updates at the Microsoft Update site (if you have not done that already). What firewall and anti virus are you using? This may help the network guys out if they knew that.
Let us know how you make out.

In fact, it won't even recognize that there's material on the page to load. It's very strange. I need to log into a certain website for my housing application for university (it's a ".jsp"), and after I enter the information I just get a pure blank mozilla screen. Very strange. I tried with IE 7 and have the same problem. I tried fiddling around with the security levels on each but that did nothing.

I doubt there truly is nothing on the university website... what do you think the problem is?

A:Won't load a page.

Check all your security software, browser addons, firewall settings, etc to see which one is blocking javascripts, java or scripts (the wording might be different depending on the program).

For example, I use the NoScript addon for Firefox. With it enabled, all scripts are blocked so a .jsp site would appear blank. When I disable NoScript, the page loads as normal.

Another example of this is when i play my facebook games (Yes, it's easy to get addicted) and where the game were supposed to be, it's blank.

So, any answers to this? Some settings to be made? Or is it my internet provider?

Great forum!

I'm running XP Home, (but even my old 98SE had the same problem):

I cannot get any ABC web page to load! I don't know if it is a problem with the go domian or if it's my dialup/phone line or what, but every time I try and read a news story or any ABC, the page tries to load but I finally give up after waiting several minutes. I have had other sites that are 'slow' to load (about) but eventually they will.

It wouldn't be a big deal except there are times I need to look up programming, etc for my business and it's really annoying. My ISP guy had me do a ping (forgot how now) but it responded correctly and he's at a loss now as well.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

ps all other web sites load up straight away. many thanks

A:cannot get a certain web page to load !!!

If cookies being disabled is the problem, you should be getting a blank page with some very small writing stating this from that website: "Welcome to the Partscenter Web site.
We have detected that cookies are disabled on your browser.
Please enable them and reload the page, or the site will not function correctly".

Anyway, to enable cookies, this is how:

From internet explorer: Tools > Internet Options. Within the Internet Options window: Privacy tab > Select a setting for the internet zone > set privacy level to Medium. Failing that, for test reasons, lower the slider right to the bottom to 'accept all cookies'.

Whether it works or not, please post results on here.

Hi! I'm new.

For the past two days I have been unable to access a certain webpage for my son:

I get the basic chrome "this webpage is not available" thing.
I have tried using different browsers (even IE *shudders*), different computers on the same network, and restarting my computer several times. I even hard reset(ted?) my router by unplugging and plugging it back in. I also did a few security checks and flushed the DNS with cmd. I have talked to others on forums, including moderators and actual staff, for this game and everyone else says they can access it. This has never happened to me in the past and never has happened for any other website. The fact that it is only on my networks tells me it's something to do with my router but I have no idea to be honest

Any help is appreciated and an answer would be greatly so.

Computer: Dell Inspiron 6000 running Windows XP. 1.6 GHz, 1.24 RAM, 60 GB HD with 15 GB memory remaining on HD. Cache is set high. Running IE 6 or IE 8 - get the same problem. Virus protection: AVAST and Malewarebytes.

Problem: This problem arose about 3-4 days ago. Up until that time, my computer was working fine. When I load a page (e.g., or parts of the page are blank. For example, there may be a square space on the page for an ad, but it is empty. The dividing bar that outlines sections of the page is there, but there is no text below it. I am having difficulty with yahoo mail in that it is difficult to delete some messages. I am also having difficulty opening some apps such as Norton Ghost. Also, the AVAST icons have disappeared from the toolbar.

Attempted the following fixes: 1) I ran AVAST and also Malewarebytes and they came up clean. 2) Used Windows system restore to a point several weeks ago - no change - failed. 3) Used Norton Ghost and restored to a point about 55 days ago. The browser will now work properly until you shut off the system and restart. Upon restart and opening IE6 or IE 8, the incomplete page load problem will reappear. 4) Thinking that I may have a virus, I reinstalled Windows XP thinking that it would clean off my Hard Drive - this was followed... However, after downloading all the updates from windows update (including ie6 sp1), I have a minor, but confounding problem. My Belkin wireless router's page ( won't load. I just get a blank page.
Please help.

A:Router page won't load

It could be 2 things. 1) the router has hung.
Try rebooting the router.
Open a command prompt and try to ping your router.

2) it could be something wrong with your browser.
If you are using IE, then try running IE without any add-ons. That shortcut can be found at All Programs > Accessories > System Tools
If that doesn't work, you can try to reset your IE to out-of-box condition. IE > Gear > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset button.
If that doesn't work, try another browser like FireFox or Chrome.

Today when my Mom tried to access the Internet using Mozilla Firefox on her laptop she got the following error message:

Failed to Connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at Google

Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.

Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.

Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with web browsing.

It connects using wireless, and according to the wireless network connection status:

Status: Connected

Speed: 54.0 Mbps

Signal Strength: Excellent

The address was assigned by DHCP and the IP address and default gateway are what they usually are. I tried to ping my desktop from the laptop and received this error message:

PING: transmit failed, error code 65 (x4)

Ping statistics for

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss)

I then tried connecting wired and it also said I was connected, but it still will not load a web page. My brother was using the laptop earlier and said that he could not load a web page on Firefox either, but could load one in Internet Explorer.

A:Firefox won't load a web page

Rather than post a new thread, I found this one because the problem is very similar to the one I'm having.

I just got a Dell desktop with XP and service pack 2 from family. After creating a dialup connection, the only thing I can access the intenet with is Internet Explorer. Firefox wont connect (I'm getting the same message as DigatalMan above), my gmail notifier won't connect, and I can't update my Flash, AVG antivirus, media players, or any of my anti-spyware programs.

I've disabled Windows firewall and am using Sygate, but I'm still not getting anywhere. I've even briefly disabled both firewalls and still can't get anywhere. Any help on this would be very much appreciated, so thank you in advance.

it seems like "explorer.exe" is not loading. after the background loads, open task manager, go to "file, new task" and type in "explorer.exe." if everything loads after doing this, then some registries entries may be corrupt.

I have scanned with my antivirus and 3 different anti malware progs. I cleared the browser cache on IE, Chrome and Fire fox, I flushed the DNS, released and renewed ip all to no avail. I have also tried assigning new DNS servers with no luck. I have uninstalled java and reinstalled. I have checked the offending web sites on " Down For Everyone Or Just Me -> Check if your website is down or up? " and for everyone I checked it was just me. I am at my wits end please help.

Can somebody PLEASE help me to remedy this issue?

Now, I cannot even view YouTube Videos on Firefox.

I tried reinstalling Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Flash and Shockwave but the videos still won't play on my FACEBOOK page.

PLEASE, this is driving me nuts! I cannot figure out what happened between yesterday and today that caused this problem!

This is rather recent. Please see the two images loaded by Firefox 8.0.1 for (this happens with many other sites, this is just an example!). The second one is when I press the refresh button. What is wrong?

Incidentally, I could not send this from Firefox; there is no "manage attachment" button there! This is from Google Chrome.

Hope I'm posting in the right forum, if not I apologize. I'm also sorry that I have indeed read about this online but can't find a solution to make it stop happening.

When I go to certain sites (example is Myspace) certain images don't load. Sites almost always load flash animation and most pics, but the ones left behind with a red x are usually .jpg (all the ones I've seen so far). An example of this happening would be if I went to a friends myspace page and scrolled down I would see that some or all of their friend pictures haven't loaded and are a square with a red x. I can almost always right-click the image and it will load. I have checked out almost everything on my end, besides changing hardware (modem) or reinstalling (browser, OS). This happens in IE7 for me as well as Firefox. When it is in Firefox it isn't a red x but the 3 shapes symbol for a picture loading or not yet loaded. I know my browser and internet connection are working but why aren't all the images being loaded on any given web site?

A:Red X's, all images don't load on web page

A:Specific Page Won't Load

Have tried checking your security settings? You may be accidently blocking it. Try going to Internet Options\Privacy Tab\Sites and scroll through the list to see if you accidently blocked it there. If you did highlight the site and click Allow. Otherwise see if you have the Content Advisor on in Internet Options. If you do add your site to allowed sites there.
Good Luck.

I have a single webpage on a clients computer that will not load and I am at a loss as to why.  Everyone else in the building, hooked up to the same network can access it fine and sometimes the page even loads halfway then just stops.  It is a website that allows users to log into our citrix environment.  This user was able to log into the site fine a few days ago but yesterday and today it will not load for him.  I have tried clearing the browser cache and tried loading it in IE and firefox to no avail.  any other ideas what to do?  He is running windows 7 btw.

A:single web page will not load

Ok so I managed to get the system working properly again.  I uninstalled and reinstalled both IE and firefox and that solved the problem.

I am currently on my brother's laptop. Both my firefox and chrome browser stop working yesterday. I believe it started when I receive some javascript/browser error while I was closing tabs on firefox. Kept receiving these errors for each tab closed.

I don't believe it is my internet problem as my laptop seems to be connected to my router fine.

A:My browser won't load a page

What did the error message say?

Have you tried updating Java to the latest version and clearing the cache/history in Firefox and Chrome?

I use Verizon “My Yahoo” as my home page.  I have it customized the way I like, but a few weeks ago parts of it stopped working.  The links, which open a new page, work fine.  However, the tabs, which take me to a new part of the same page, get a spinning wheel and never seem to load.  The odd thing is that the very same page works fine on my husband’s computer.
I have deleted cookies, browsing history, etc. and reset IE to default settings.  I also disabled all add-ons and used Microsoft’s Fixit tool. Nothing helped.

Does anyone else have these problems or a solution?  Thanks.

A:Web page won't load completely

Try using Chrome or Firefox.

Hi, First off don't know if this is the correct forum to put in but anyway I will try to be thorough and include as much information as possible to help (So might be a big post).

So recently my internet was cut off due to not paying the bill but got it back and running after doing so but after paying the bill the internet had considerably slowed down in a sense. Weirdly to load web pages and any web page takes a considerable time difference to before but when running speed tests the results say the speed isn't different.
I have tried various things:
– Reset modem and router and turned off various times.
– Tried changing the DNS server in router settings and also network adapter.
– Used Namebench to try and find a better DNS server but coming back with mine being fastest.
- Tried Isolation test and connected modem directly to computer ( this increases the speed to a almost normal speed as before, but I need the router as I have other family members that require wireless)

My computer is hooked up to router which is connected to modem where two other laptops connect wirelessly which are also having these slow problems. I have checked the service providers site and there is no outages or problems of the lines supposedly at the moment.

When I run network diagnostics it comes up with this error eventually "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or the resource (Microsoft Corporation: Software, Smartphones, Online, Games, Cloud Comput... Read more

I have a tricky situation here:

Every time i click "play video" on, which is supposed to open a new window or tab and load a video player along with some ads (, the new window appears as just a black screen. No ads appear and no video player appears. The status bar says "Done". I have done everything i could think of to fix this....and its only on this one webpage. video players and ads work everywhere else, even if the same player is on the home page of it works. Its only when another page has to open to load the player or content. I do not understand it. I can even load this page properly on all other computers in the house. Even on my work computer. ?????

I have turned off firewalls...deleted all cookies...disabled adblock....turned off block-up options, etc. Nothing but black.

I use Microsoft XP...Webroot/EZ Trus AV/Firewall applications.

I ran a hijackthis log and here it is:

I have my notebook computer (xp pro) and my home computer (xp home) sharing a kvm switch. My web home page is a personal page. For some reason on the new home machine when I go to the excite home page it doesn't load photo's and icons. However the notebook does this fine. So I've totally disabled all of spyware blaster's protections. I've set internet security options to low. I've turned firewall off. And it still doesn't load correctly.
Any ideas?

A:Web page won't load correctly

By all means, don't set your security options to low... The problem you're having isn't related to your browser security settings. I assume you're using IE as your web browser. If so, open Internet Properties >> Advanced tab; scroll down to Multimedia to view the current settings and go from there...

I have 2 pc's, one running 7 home 64 bit (main machine), one running 10 pro 64. I use the dating site "Plenty of Fish". The 7 machine will randomly not load the site. Just gives that "connection timed out" error. When this is going on, the other pc WILL always load the page, so it's not the site or connection. Just now, I had the site open for a couple hours, but not logged in, and not using it. Just sitting there on the entry page, while I used other sites in other windows (Firefox). Went to log in, got the "timed out" thing. This ALWAYS goes away if I reboot the 7 machine. Tried killing the firewall, no difference. I run Firefox 99% of the time, but while getting the "timed out" error, the page also will not load in IE, again, until I reboot. What might this be?

Hello Fred mate could be anything and can you post the specs pleas it is so hard to help not knowing what we are dealing with.

System Info - See Your System Specs - personally I like to see the specs as added to your profile and are easily accessed at the bottom of your posts.

Now I do get this problem with my portable modem on the laptop and it usually it gets resolved with what you do. Now I would be checking or even updating the drivers for the LAN or WLAN whichever you use and if we knew what board was in the machine we could link them for you.

I would also run these
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Disk Check < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2 > in safe mode if need be

SFC usually best run for three scans

First of all, sorry if I misspell something wrong, I don't speak a lot english .
Well, the problem is that in the last 4 days I have been trying to connect to and I can't! I tried in every-single-navigator like Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and in all of them appears the same problem! And it's only with the tumblr page, I can load perfectly other sites.

In Google Chrome appears this error:

Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknow Error.

On Firefox says:

"The connection has been reset"

On Internet Explorer:
The Page is unavaliable.

And, all my friends can go to their tumblr like nothing! It's so confusing... I have been reseting my conection and turning off and on my computer over and over again but nothing happens! I runned a scan with Malware Bite and I got 3 malwares and, of course, eliminated them, but it seems like that wasn't the problem.

The only way I can access the page is using a anonymous proxy navigator site (Would be the same if I say that I need to hide my proxy?), but still I can't enjoy all the features of tumblr. Also I can see the site if I click on "See in Caché" but only see, I can't log in.

And also I downloaded applications like Tumb... Read more

Hi...I'm having a problem with a page not loading. For some reason my computer will not let me get any windows updates. Everytime I go there, through every means possible, the page is blank and white. It just hangs. Then I have to use my taskmanager to get out of it. I'm getting very discouraged. If anyone out there has a way of fixing this, I would shout out their name from my rooftop, with pure jubilation!!!
All posts will be read. Thanks
Also will accept an email [email protected]
