Error message opening Winamp; MSVCR70.dll can't be found.

Q: Error message opening Winamp; MSVCR70.dll can't be found.

I get a error message when I open Winamp V3 "A DLL MSVCR70.dll can't be found at the specifyed path". The program runs ok as far as mp3 files though. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, but the same thing.

I have another bootable HD on the same computer and it opens fine there. I'm running 2k w/sp3. I did a search for this dll in the good drive but nothing comes up.

Today when I tried opening up Winamp, it gave me an error message....

A Winamp component has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the Inconvinience.

I was told the problem is probably just in winamp, so I put Musicmatch Jukebox on here and it also has that same error message. I have no idea what to do now.

I think it might have to do with the fact that it shows there is something in the recycle bin, i even selected to show hidden files and it shows nothing, but if you click on "empty the recycle bin" in says are you sure you want to delete windows? I closed it not sure of what would happen.

I think you wanted this information also if not sorry.

Running Win XP SP3

Fairly recently I started getting an error when I'm in Windows Explorer, moving files across folders. It has now got to the stage where the error occurs withing seconds of trying to carry out such as activity.

First of all an error box comes up with the message "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close..."

Clicking for details of the error another window comes up

Error signature
AppName explorer.exe Appver 6.0.2900.5512 Modname msvcr70.dll
Modver 7.0.9466.0 Offset 0000133d

I'm stuck as to know where to start. I've done a quick Google and invariably come to sites that ask me to download some program or other to perform registry checks and yes, you've guessed it, I have to pay for the program to sort the problem.

Any further information you need?

Hello
Recently ive been having problems with winamp. As soon as i play a song in it, the rest of my applications freeze and the icons on the desktop turn white and slowly, one-by-one reinstate themselves. Any attempt to interfere brings the message 'WIndows Explorer is not responding'. It sorts itself out eventually but can take up to 15 minutes.
I am on Vista 32 bit and have the latest version of winamp (5.572).
It started happening around the time i got a trojan virus from careless downloading but i have since cleared this up and the problem persists so that could just be a coincidence.
Any clues?

I posted a thread in the Winamp forum on this, but didn't get the answer I was looking for, so I thought I'd try you guys. I'm running the latest version of Winamp Pro on Vista Home Basic x64. Many times, but not always, when I click on the Winamp icon in my Quick Launch taskbar, the program briefly opens, then quickly minimizes back to the taskbar.

I did check in properties and Run is set to Normal Window. I even tried switching it to Maximized once, to see if that would do any good. It didn't. I also check in Winamp options and Always On top is checked.

I also reinstalled the program right on top of the existing one and that made no difference. Then I completely uninstalled Winamp, then reinstalled it, but I still I get the same problem! And like I mentioned, the problem is intermittent.

I'm stumped!

"C:\Documents and Settings\Michelle\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\UHW7Y9SI\jre-1_5_0_04-windows-i586-p.exe[1].torrent --- Invalid menu handle."

Does anyone know what this means? I'd really appreciate any help!

Not sure if this is the correct forum or not, but when I try to open some .jpeg files, I sometimes (key word "sometimes") get the following error message:

"Microsoft Internet Explorer
Root.html,_Route Call(): Routing liquid not found."

I have to click on the "OK" approx. 10 consecutive times before the error message goes away and then seems nothing is affected. Strange thing is that I can try to re-open the same file and it may open or I may get the same error message again. I'm using an older program to view photos and pics (MGI Photosuite III) but I like it, it's easy and has everything I need. It seems the error message doesn't affect anything but it really a nuisance. Thanks for any help or suggestions

or maybe a policy, .. start > run > type gpedit.msc and press enter.

Hello,

I'm trying to setup an email for a coworker and we're having trouble. Sending and receiving seem to work OK but then when we try to open emails by double-clicking on them, we get an error message along the lines of "Can't open the email. Contents can't be accessed. Need to open email online." (this isn't verbatim; I don't have the error message in front of me at the moment).

He's using Outlook 2002. The mail service is with Telus (Calgary, Alberta). The incoming mail server is imap.telus.net (I read somewhere that IMAP mail servers can have problems like this).

Logging onto the server online can be done, and works, but he'd much rather use Outlook as the online webmail is a "pain in the ***" (his words).

Can anybody help please?

A:error message when opening emails

Hi gib88,

From within Outlook click on the Tools menu > choose Send/Receive > Send/Receive Settings, and then Define Send/Receive Groups.
Choose the Edit button.
Click on your IMAP account in the left pane, and then under the Receive Mail Items section choose “Download complete items including attachments”.
You can alternately choose - Use custom behavior defined below - and choose only your Inbox - or the exact folders you want to download the full items to.

If you have a large amount of items in your Inbox - you may want to create sub folders - and customize Outlook to download specific folders.
That may save you from getting file corruption - and / or making Outlook slow to open.

Hope that works for you.

Hi, I am running Windows XP Home Edition V2002 SP3 on an ASUS Eee PC.

When I go into Windows Explorer I get a message "A program on your computer has corrupted your default search provider setting for internet explorer. Internet Explorer has reset this setting to your original search provider Google (www.google.com). Internet Explorer will now open search settings where you can change this setting or install more search providers".

Search settings screen opens, and confirms Google as the default search provider so I don't change anything here, just take the clause open and it continues into Explorer login. However EVERY time I go into Explorer I get the above sequence of messages/actions, so the re-setting is not taking effect permanently.

Can anyone advise how to overcome this please?

This has started happening the last couple weeks. When I click on my email I get this:
Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 5100, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90
Now this doesn't always happen, sometimes it connects, and opens right up. Then I can send, recieve and log off. Then maybe a couple hours later I click on and get this same message, I 'X' the message off and click on the send recieve button. Then I either get the same error message, or it may decide to open up, and then I get my mail. Or I may get the error 3 times before I finally get thru. This just started 2 weeks ago, and being this fickle is starting to annoy me. It's a two year old HP with 2 G of RAM and Vista. I can still go to Google online and go right to my email with no problem. Anybody else getting this?

It was working totally fine, but now everything I want to open or everytime i want to open a program or file an error message comes up saying," this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the set associations file." It shows up for every thing i try opening.Im not very good with computers I mean knowledge wise so i have no idea what this is and what to do about it. Also a few days ago I noticed a mysterious account that just decided to show up on my login screen. I thought one of my family members made it but then i asked and they all said it wasnt theirs. It was a limited account. I deleted it. I wonder if it has anything to do with my issue. Please help me and respond asap. Thank you very very much.

Hi Guys,

Moved the thread from Networking as I got no answers... perhaps this will yield better results! This pop-up window (Thread Title) started to appear when pressing the button 'New FAX'. Second line goes on to say: Specified procedure could not be found.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to even start to look at where or why this problem is suddenly occurring? This seems to have started after a critical update but I can't be certain. I couldn't roll back to an earlier restore point as it only saves the last two or three (on every boot-up?) so there wasn't one earlier enough to try.

Thanks.

Ever since I have been working with Windows 8 I have received error messages stating "There was a problem sending the command to the program". It will be a document that I have created in word or excel on the exact same computer. I click on the folder in my library, find my document, double click on it, word or excel appears to start to open as a box displaying one or the other appears and then the error message appears. I click on "OK" in the error message and see the word or excel icon in my lower tray - click on that and there is my document. Not a huge deal but definitely not the way things should work....help?

Maybe running sfc & dism would help.

I run them from a batch file to save time.

sfc /scannow
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /scannow
pause

Save as repair.bat using all files or it will end up with a .txt extention.
Or just run them alone in an Administrator Command Prompt.
Right click your .bat file & choose Run as administrator if you make one.

A:Opening A Downloaded Program Get A Error Message

Hello and to BC

First and foremost about this, have you scanned your computer for Any sort of malware before / after doing this download as it may be infected, Just a thought

Secondly, what type of program are you trying to download, if its a simple program such as an AV , or a free game or something like that, from a trusted site, it should not be giving you an error such as that

if its an older exe file maybe it just won't work with your xp, Just a couple of thoughts to toss out there
Hope to hear from you soon

I'm trying to set up a second email profile on a PC which already has a profile set up. The new profile needs to be password protected, ie. anyone who logs on to the PC using the default profile should not have access to the second mail profile without an additional password (if that makes sense).
Both profiles use exchange accounts. I've selected the 'Prompt for a profile to be used' option. However when I select the second profile I get the following error message:

Unable to open your default e-mail folders. You do not have permission to log on.

I'm assuming that this is because it is trying to use the Windows logon username and password to access the second profile. Is there any way to get Outlook to prompt for a password when accessing the new mail profile?

I am running windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Whenever I try open outlook or anything in office 2003 I receive the following error message: please wait while windows configures microsoft office single image 2003.

The above error message is an identical message sent to this Forum by "drumstik59" but was for Office 2010 instead of Office 2003.

This was solved by the reply given by "Irene" which is :-

"..paste the following commands one at a time and press ENTER.

reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0 \Word\Options /vNoReReg/tREG_DWORD/d 1

reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0 \Excel\Options /vNoReReg/tREG_DWORD/d 1

reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0 \Access\Options /vNoReReg/tREG_DWORD/d 1 "

As I have the same error message with MS Office 2003 but have "\11.0\" in the script instead of "\14.0\" would this solution also apply to Office 2003 ?

A:Receiving error message when opening office 2003

Well, version 11.0 applies to Microsoft Office 2003, so it's certainly worth a try.

How to check the version of Office 2003 products

If you decide to import the modified script into the registry, please make sure you backup the complete registry first and a system restore point wouldn't go amiss either, in case you get problems.

Hello everyone, here is my problem:
I barely use the DVD or CD player and a long time ago my husband wanted to watch a DVD and the DVD drive did not recognize any DVD in it. I didn't pay attention. I can play and write CDs in my CD drive, but that's all. A few days ago I was installing a program in my PC, at that time my PC started to give me an "updating Adobe Reader's" message. I tried to allow the update but it was not successful and at the time I ignored these issues because I was not in dire need to use the drive. now I think a made a mistake by not fixing it at the time. Now that I need to use the DVD player to install a program, my PC does not recognize the DVD or CD in the DVD drive.
First it gave me this message "Error 1327.Invalid Drive: [drive letter] while installing or updating Adobe CS4, Acrobat or Adobe ReaderProducts affected"; so I tried to fix it by myself and found a program online that said they would fix this problem. PerfectOptmizer, but this program just scanned for free showing me how to fix, but to fix the problem I had to buy their program, which I did, but it did NOT solve the issue, I still could not run any CD or DVD in my DVD drive, then I read the troubleshooting at my HP PC HELP & SUPPORT and it gave me this situation px.dll not found.

* Click here to download HJTsetup.exe

Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.

Hi everyone!

I'm extremely new here...been browsing and searching on google for hours for a solution to my problem.

I do only the basics with the internet...check email, browse websites etc. I am not technical at all.

I signed up for an online website that required me to confirm my account and to register. I got a confirmation email and tried to click on the link provided, but when I did I keep getting this error message:

"
The resource cannot be found.

Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /Register/Default.asp

Can anyone help me with this?? It's driving me crazy. I have tried clicking on the link from my laptop, from Internet Explorer instead of Mozilla which is what I normally use, and nothing is working. I really need to be able to access this website.

When I did a search on Google everyone keeps talking about something called IIS, but I'm not sure what that is or how to access it.

Can anyone shed any light on this please? Thank you!

I don't believe it should have one and not sure how to remove it.

Elements D is also pretty weird looking seeing there is 2 of them.

When I attempt to open an Excel file using Excel 2003, the following error message occurs:

"this file is not in a recognizable format" etc...

Why does this occur, and how can I open the file successfully?

A:Solved: Excel 2003 - error message when opening file

Check the file extension. Am sure it has an extension ".xlsx" which means that the file was created using microsoft office 2007 excel or higher. This is why your computer does not recognize the extension of the file. the 2003 version of excel can only open files with the extension ".xls". The solution to this is to get microsoft office 2007 or higher version and install it or got the following link and download Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack and install it. it will enable you to open the file without having to install the office 2007 which may not be fit for your machine specifications.

msnmsgr.exe - Entry Point Not FoundThe procedure entry point CreateInfoWindow could not be located in the dynamic link library MSOERT.dll.Anyone have a clue what this means? It appeared out of no where a few days ago. I googled it, searched for it on a few different Microsoft search engines and pretty much came up blank. I found this link which looks suspicious (personally my suspicion borders on paranoia as far as computers go. My kids insist on having it though). http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/msnmsgr.exe.htmlYou know what bugs me the most about error messages? There's no way to copy and past the stupid things into a search engine. You have to manually type the stupid thing in, assumimg it lets you do anything when its on the screen in which case you have to write the damn thing down first and then type it in.

Hi

I have just purchased a small digital camera that came with Ulead PE 3.0.

I went through the installation wizard for this software and it seemed to install correctly.

The icon for PE3.0 now appears on my desk top however when I double click on it I receive the following message:
IPE30 this program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down.

I check the 'details' of this error message and it says:
IPE30 executed an invalid instruction in module U32COMM.dll at 015f:4a10a40d.

Does anyone know what I have done wrong? If I need to uninstall and reinstall the software - how do I go about doing this?

Thanks

I am the only person to use my pc and I am the administrator. I have Windows XP and am using Internet Explorer7. I had no problems until, due to illness I didn't use pc for 2 months. I tried to update cccleaner but a windows error message came up. There was no error code. Today I've tried to open an attachment to an e-mail from my nephew but the same error message appeared. I then chose to save the attachment instead. The error message still appeared I pressed 'ok' on the error message and it disappeared. The attachment was saved to where I had instructed. The error message says 'C:\Documents and Settings\(personal name)\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\ the last part changes. Plus 'Windows cannot access the specified device path or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item'. I have emptied all temporary files etc. to no effect. I've taken copy of error message but can't upload it as 'invalid file' shows. What is wrong?

A:Solved: Server Not found Error message

Re-installing it is worth a try, but it could be much much simpler than that. You could have a broken connection that can be fixed in five minutes:

HijackThis
*Download HijackThis from http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip
*Unzip the file and install it to C:/ProgramFiles
*Click on scan and save a log
*When the txt file comes up, copy all and paste here.

It finally dawned on me that the outlook was my son's account so I had to log on to his account but i didn't have the password . I found a way around by booting in safemode then going to control panel, picking the user and click on their icon. then click on remove. reboot in normal mode and your in. Then i just went into control panel and removed the old antivirus and it worked no problem and I was able to update to 7.5.

Hey everyone!

I have a Dell Dimension desktop running Windows XP home, and for the last few weeks I have been receiving the following error message when I first start the computer. (See attachment for screenshot)

___________

regsrv32.exe - Entry Point Not Found:

The procedure entry point [email protected] could not be locate din the dynamic link library regsrv32.dll.

____________

I have run a virus scanning program and cleared all spyware with ad-aware and spybot, but I still receive the error. I opened task manager and the process associated with this error message is "csrss.exe." The search function revealed two locations of this file on the affected computer and none on a non-affected computer: "C:\i386" and "C:\windows\system32."

I moved both files to a temporary location, but it did not solve the problem; I still get the error message every time I start the computer.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. It doesn't cause problems, but I want the computer to be working correctly. Thanks so much in advance!

-Micky

A:Error Message: Entry Point Not Found???

I saw this at MS's knowledge base but it was for other files (not regsrv) but it said that it was caused by file versions that were wrong.

The first thing I would try is to run the system file checker (Start, run, "sfc /scannow" [without the quotes] - be sure to have your install CD ready).

Other than that I'm not sure.

A:operating system not found error message

The two most obvious answers would be that there is a DVD in the drive, which would prevent normal boot
The second is that the Hard drive has failed.
There are of course other possiblities, but those are the first two that come to mind.
There are of course many other possiblities , a few are:
MBR has become corrupt
The partion has become corrupt. This will require data recovery software.

I can solve this for you but my solution may lose all your stuff

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. On start I keep getting the regsvr 32 error message that the module for qcncodecs4.dll cannot be found. Apparently this dll has been deleted. No problem. I am not interested in getting it back, I just want to stop the error message from appearing every time on start up. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or solutions.

A:Regsvr32 error message...dll module not found

In most cases, a registry problem is the reason for this error. Registry is the most critical component of Windows that stores every data and configuration of your computer, every hardware/software needs to connect to registry to function properly. However, the everyday regular use of computer will keep creating wasted/invalid/obsolete entries that could corrupt the registry and cause registry malfunction, eventually, this could lead to system slowness and various system error including the qcncodecs4.dll error. I use CCleaner from Piriform - Download CCleaner, Defraggler, Recuva, Speccy - Millions of users worldwide!. It's a registry scanner/fixer tool and cleaner. Hope this helps.

First of all I'm new to this website, so if i have posted in the wrong area I apologize. My issue is that when I try to play games(such as games that you install with a CD)and use other programs on my computer, it won't let me and I get a pop up that says this exact message "This application has failed to start because DDRAW.dll was not found, re-installing the application may fix this problem" I've tried to re-install all of the applications and it continues to tell me this same message, it does this with probably five or six programs that I've noticed so far. I've tried to contact a few people about this issue and noone seems to know what to do, i was wondering if anyone could tell me what to do to get this file back or how to re-install it from a trusted website if that is what i need to do. I have the CD's that came with the computer one says that it's for software and drivers and one says its to restore my computer. I don't know if you need this or not but my computer is a Dell Inspiron 1420, it runs on Vista as it's operating system, any help would be appreciated...thanks again!

A:Error Message DDRAW.ddl File not found?

DDRAW.dll is a component of the DirectX software from Microsoft, so installing the latest version of DirectX for your version of Windows should fix it. Go here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8109

Note the Windows version requirements on the page - it's compatible with WinXP, WinVista, and Win7 - but for Windows XP you must have SP2 or SP3 installed.

Does anyone know where I can find and install this application?

It was probably pre-installed at the Dell factory so the Dell website may have it available for download.
Try here: http://support.euro.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs

If you have no luck, uninstall it and try an alternative that's free for anyone to use. These free ones will also be more up to date than Sonic DigitalMedia which has now been discontinued.

Hello,

As mentioned in the title, I've recently encountered problems while opening the folder in which I download files to. What's different from what I've experienced in the past, is that this error doesn't pop up for any other drive/folder but this specific part of the directory. So I'm wondering is it possible to cut the files to a new folder and delete/avoid this folder? Or are my problems greater than something as simple as this?

Background info:
While attempting to upgrade the expansion for WoW: Burning Crusade, I wasn't able to more or less for the fact that my original drive that came with the computer (dell 2001) is starting to fall apart. ie. corrupt file packets I believe it was. This folder is in the same hard drive, so it just possible that the hard drive is going to randomly do this until it completely malfunctions? Or have I downloaded malware of some sort that was never detected? I've run ad-aware, S&D, Anti-Trojan, Symantec AV multiples times making sure to do updates before each scan, but nothing has come up.

If you could please give me some ideas as to how to fix this problem, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my post. I am using Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 4550 Pentium 4 computer. I scan for viruses and Spyware as best I know. When I click on a user I get the following Error Message.

"Direct CD. EXE-Entry Point Not Found" (on the top left of the small window)

and

The procedure point Cdudf_IsMedaBlank could not be located in the dynamic link library ( in the window with an "OK" button)

I have no idea what this means. I am recently having problems with the computer and I thought I would start with this. Aside from being unusually slower, every once in a while, in the middle of surfing or using word or excell, the screen goes blank and returns to the user log on screen.

All and any help is greatly appreciated.

A:Error Message: Direct CD.EXE-Entry Point Not Found

Hiya and welcome

Are you using DirectCD from Roxio? If so, have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software? It may have become corrupt somehow.

Also, can you post a log as well:

go to http://forum.aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Regards

I have found that once deleting the Wild tangent program and manually removing the folder and all apps tied to it the error: wild tangent apps/cda/engine 0400.dll" kept popping up on startup of computer.

I searched for weeks on how to remove this annoying message at startup and finally found somewhat of a solution but it works!.

I went to system config and then to startup and UNCHECKED the wild tangent 0400.dll in startup which was the very first line in my startup. It no longer boots up when I start the computer and It no longer shows anywhere.

NOTHING else would removed this annoying error message on startup. I tried adware and I even purhased cleaners for the system. NOTHING worked except this and now I have peace. Hope this helps others.

I'm receiving this error message each time I restart my relatively new All-in-one Lenovo touchscreen PC with Intel i5 processor. the error message started after I upgraded from windows 8.1 to win 10, but it may be a coincidence and related to another update or issue.
