Hi, Your machine was built before second half of 2014 therefore the chance to upgrade wireless card is very slim to none. There is a list on pp 6 and 7 of the following manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03099448.pdf You can use USB wireless adapter, this will cost you one USB port http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/c/technology/networking/wireless-usb-adapters (Note: much cheaper from other countries). I'm trying to replace a faulty wireless card and I can't figure out for the life of me where to order a new one. 'HP Part Surfer' doesn't return anything. I'm also not entirely sure where the part number on the wireless card is, all I can really see that might be it is a 'PNOP' number. Thanks in advance!

This card supports 802.11n. Obviously... it's right in the name, plus device manager>network adapters>Intel Centrino>Advanced tab clearly shows n enabled.

But can anyone take a second to tell me, if you know, why when I run the command netsh wlan show drivers, "radio types supported" shows only b and g, and NOT 802.11n ??? Confusing to me.

that is odd but if your connected using N and your drivers are up to date i wouldn't worry about it.

I have a relatively new (few months) laptop of my own running Win7 x64 with an "Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030" wireless network adapter. For some reason, I have serious problems connecting to most wireless networks. On my home network there are rarely problems, but when I attempt to any other network (college, or public hotspot, or neighbor's open wireless) there are often issues.

By "issues" I mean: when I first attempt to connect to the network in question, I'm usually able to connect to the first few sites I try to access, but usually after a second or a minute or a few minutes of normal connectivity, I'm suddenly unable to access anything. The browser's response is that DNS lookup has failed; when I record an IP address (via ping-command prompt) and type it in manually after this point, the browser's response is that "##.##..." is taking too long to respond, etc..." No other program is able to connect either. I have tried setting different DNS servers but it has had no visible effect. At this point, the only thing I can do to reconnect is to either wait a long time for the connection to reestablish itself (which can take an hour or more and isn't guaranteed) or to go to Device Manager and disable and reenable the wireless adapter, which then *sometimes* allows me to reconnect for a few seconds or a minute or an hour before connectivity breaks again. When the connection fails, Windows displays the computer ... Read more

A:Unreliable connectivity - Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030

I had the same issue too. My GF's laptop has a 1030 wireless NIC and it had all sorts of issues connecting to the APs in my house. It would work fine with her Linksys wireless router and my Sprint MiFi. But had connectivity/performance problems when connecting to either of my Netgear APs (WG102 and WNDAP350) along with my PC W 620 wireless controller with AP 105 and AP 125 access points. Updating the drivers helped the problem somewhat, but we were still experiencing dropped packets or extremely high latency when connected. Upon a suggestion from one of my coworkers, I tried adjusting the performance/power settings in Windows and that seemed to have fixed the problem. The laptop has been running fine ever since.

Hello,

I sent my computer in for repairs a while back and now the wireless card won't work. It can't find any signals unless I plug in the one from my desktop. I went to computer/properties/device manager and saw that the wireless card (Intel (R) Centrino (R) Wireless-N 1030) has a yellow "!" next to it. The properties tab says, "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)".

I have tried searching for new drivers automatically but it says they are up to date. I downloaded the latest drivers directly from Intel and tried to manually update them but it said that the drivers are up to date again. This problem occurs whenever I update my computer. I did a system restore and it worked fine for about a month, but once it updated it did the same thing again. There is no restore point to go to this time, so I'm stuck.

Anyone know what I should do?

Thanks

Hello,

I'm having a strange problem. Intel released new drivers to update from version 15.11 to 16.11. I downloaded them from Intel website, ran install, success. When I go into Device Manager to check on the driver version, I see it is still 15.11. I have tried a number of things, including deleting the drivers from the Device Manager and running the install again. However, in this case Windows 8 automatically installs even older drivers, version 14, dated 2011. I'd like to try the new drivers because it takes very long for the net to comeback after I wake up my laptop. Version 15.11 was installed by Windows Update, those drivers are dated January 2014.

I saw some people having trouble with extremely slow wireless connections using an Intel Centrino Wireless n-1030 card. The original thread is closed, so the problem may already be solved, but if anyone is still experiencing this problem, here is what worked for me:

This NIC is a dual band card (802.11 + bluetooth), and with some routers having the bluetooth enabled really slowed down the 802.11n connection (it didn't seem to happen with my netgear router, but when I switched to linksys, WHAMMO!).

Anyway, when I disabled the Bluetooth adapter in Device Manager the problem was completely solved (uhhhh except I need to use a dongle to make my bluetooth mouse work now... small price to pay IMO)

Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience. Hope it can help someone.

Hello all, I am having issue enabling the 802.11n settings for my WiFi card that is supposed to have N grade (300 Mbps) capabilities. The card standards are 802.11b/g/n. According to Intel's white sheet for the Intel? Centrino? Wireless-N 1000, it should be able to utilize the N grade WiFi speed capabilities. However, I'm not seeing the setting available in the Advanced settings of the driver. The attached screenshot shows that there are only b & g settings available. This is most inconvenient because my internet speed was just upgraded to 105 Mbps & I'd like to at least enjoy a little. I'm not getting anything above 50 Mbps. Is anyone else having this issue?

A:Where Are The N WiFi Settings For Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000?

It's the same for ALL Intel WiFi products. Wireless Mode for Intel is basically using ABG, BG, AG, A, G, and B modes only. (see screenshot)

For Centrino series, there's a menu called "802.11n mode" and from there you can use it to enable or disable WiFi N

For 7260 series, it is called "HT mode" and if you disable that, the NIC will refuse to connect to N network and will operate on G or A.

FYI, there's a difference between what Windows say on the connection rate and the actual rate. The actual rate depends on RF environment, walls between the computer, antenna gain, and power management. The best actual speed you can get is around 40 - 50 % of the speed reported by Windows.

Getting an actual speed of 50 Mbps means that you're already connected to WiFi N. I might guess that the connection rate reported by Windows is probably 144 Mbps. 50 Mbps is close to the maximum actual throughput of 70 - 75 Mbps. You can change the settings on your router to "force" 40 MHz channel width on the 2.4 GHz band and then set the "802.11 Channel width for 2.4 GHz to" "Auto" to allow the adapter to use 40 MHz channel width.

If successful, this should give you 300 Mbps reported connection rate and around 130 - 180 Mbps of actual speed. Therefore, your 100+ Mbps internet speed should be covered provided that your environment has little to none RF interference and the laptop is within line of sight of the router.

Hello there everyone,I am experiencing a strange problem with my y510p. I can properly connect to the internet via wifi, I have sorted out a few config problems which prevented me from connecting, but recently I am getting worried by the network card's behavior. I have recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 (I don't think that's the cause of my issue, but just in case). I noticed that my throughput was, according to Intel's PROSet Wireless WiFi Connection Utility, of about 130 mbps on wireless-n, at about 1 meter away (seriously) from the modem, which is clearly able to do high-speed 802.11n, because the model is kind of new. This modem came from the ISP with two different SSID-s active, and it's able to do 4, so I thought that I could merge the two active networks (set the same SSID and settings on both). Then I set 3 SSID-s active (all identical), then 4, then just 1, and I kept testing this way to see if I could get 270mbps. Not a chance, it stayed at 130. Eventually I found the solution. The system upgrade had set the network adapter settings back to 20mhz only, so I set it back to auto and I started to get 270mbps (intermittent speed) again. But... that didn't sort everything out. I was running an Ookla Speed Test and getting normal speeds when I noticed a slight clicking noise coming from the laptop. And it was absolutely NOT the hard disk. I could hear the hard disk making its usual sounds, and the other noise came from another side of the computer. The noise stopped wh... Read more

hi M B.,

Welcome to the Forums.

That's indeed odd if the clicking noise is comming from the wireless card. One thing that you can try is to re-seat the wireless antenna cables (see page 42 of the hardware maintenance manual).

As for the hard drive, to ensure that it's not the one that's making the clicking noise, try to disable the wireless connection run a diagnostic on the drive (i.e. via HD Tune) or put a load on it (i.e. via CrystalDiskmark) and observe.

I just recently did a Windows update and somehow it destroyed my wifi connectivity. I have tried to do system restores back a few days prior to the update to NO avail. I have removed and re-installed or attempted to install the hardware and the software several times. I have downloaded Intel Driver Update Utility to help me install the drivers for the network adapter to no avail. I am not sure what happened but I definitely don't know how to correct this problem.

I have tried so many steps I can't even remember half of them. Most of the times that Intel has done a download, it comes back as Failed and then when I reboot laptop it says installation incomplete (or something like that).

Thanks for your assistance in advance.

Then, click on: Change Adapter Settings.
Check if your WiFi is enabled, if not: Right click on your WiFi and click on Enable.

A:I'm having wireless Issues with the Intel 1030,Turning off by itself

It almost sounds like a nic driver issue. Have you updated it recently? Try to update, or roll-back if update did not work.
Replacing your nic should not be to hard depending on your device. Usually the nic is the easiest of the add-on boards to get to. But, I really don't think it's the nic. Were you changing, installing, updating anything with your hardware, operating system when this happened? If driver update/rollback doesn't work, try a system restore if feasible.

I have been having issues with my wireless adapter (Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N6150). it has been a few weeks that this problem has been occurring. The adapter will all of a sudden disappear. Initially I would just scan for hardware changes in my device manager and that would do the trick but now it does not. So there are days I start my computer and the wireless adapter is no where to be found. Troubleshooting does not solve the problem. Also I browsed through the internet and i saw that people who were having this issue they would disable there 802.11n Mode that helped for a few days but it has started to fail again. Now for the past 2 weeks also I have had three crashes, sometimes by restarting the computer the wireless adapter would appear again and so on three separate occasions I tried restarting the computer but it failed to shutdown and I got the Blue screen of death. (it said driver power state failure)

Does anyone have any information as to what I can do to fix this problem. Can anyone please explain what is wrong with my laptop? PLease any help is appreciated.

Hello all,

My friend is having trouble with her laptop. Specs:

Lenovo Laptop
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
8.0 GB RAM
500 GB HDD
Intel Centrino Wireless N 1000

She has been having issues for the last few days where her computer will lose internet connection. Her other devices such as her iPhone still work properly on the WiFi. Only the laptop is affected. She says it seems to happen after a half hour so of usage. She has to restart to get it to work again.

I used TeamViewer to remote into her computer and looked at it. It didnt look like anything was out of the ordanary. I ran virus and malware scans, ran sfc /scannow to make sure it wasnt Windows corruption. All of those came back fine. I try to update the driver, but the driver installer will show a screen for about 5 seconds, disappear never to be seen again. Which kinda leads into the next problem.

There are certain files and applications that will not execute on her laptop. They will show the error:

<file path> is not a valid Win32 application.

It seems to be random. I can download one file and it will say that, but the next one will be fine. It doesnt seem to have any rhyme or reason to it. Because of this I cant get the drivers to update, so it seems that I will have to fix that issue before anything else.

Any ideas on this one?

A:Intel Centrino Wireless N 1000 Issues

The problem might be with the laptop, but the solution might be with the WAP - Wireless Access Point (router?).

You might check to see what channel the WAP is using and if it can be set to use one protocol (as opposed to b/g/n).

A:Intel centrino wireless N-2230 having slow connection speeds

If your router is dropping network when there's too much users, it might be overheating or overloaded and that your Wireless NIC might not be the problem at all. Playing 3D games that require online multiplayer is very demanding for a router that is not "high performance" capable. It might be the case where the router is overloaded when someone is playing an online multiplayer 3D game while others are streaming HD or using a Skype call VOIP all at the same time. You can try unplugging your router for 30 seconds and plugging it back in and see if ping spikes are gone.

What usually works is to connect using a wired connection then go to the Windows Update Center and install all the recent drivers for your new system, this should install the latest driver for the Intel NIC.

If you want the full 300Mbps this NIC is capable of then you will need to use the 802.11N Only setting in your routers set up page, using the mixed modes will slow your connection speed way down to wireless G speeds of 54Mpbs.

Or you could try using the drivers in the link below.

I currently own a HP dv6t-6b00, Product Number QJ920AV#ABA Laptop with Bios F.1b 10/23/2012 and theINTEL Core I7-2820QM. My WiFi adapter is an Intel Centrino Wireless-N + WiMAX 6150. A few weeks ago, I got the free Windows 10 Pro upgrade, and now I can not connect to any wireless networks.I tried to update the drivers of my Wimax 6150 but I received a message saying that Windows 10 does not support any drivers for that adapter. I contacted both HP Support and Windows support unsuccessfully. Is there any Wireless network adapter (White listed or not) that I can use in my dv6 with Windows 10? Or,Are there any drivers that are supported by Windows 10 that will work with my current wireless adapter? Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!!

I cleared the HD and installed windows 7 today, however I cant get my network adapter to work so no internet.

I have tried downloading the correct drivers but its not working. When I go to device manager I can see the list of devices not working with yellow exclamation mark

When I open the network controller up it has Manufacturer Unknown.

The drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)

My laptop is a Lenovo z580 Model: 2151

I appreciate any help that can get me out of this mess.

Hi there. I'm having an issue with this wireless card on my laptop. I want to add that my expertise level in computers is not high, but I am a little knowledgeable. I would estimate my skill being about a 4 or 5 on a 1-10 scale, but can follow directions well. I also don't often know the tech lingo unless I've read about it online. I will include some of the laptop information below.

To put it simply, I replaced my wireless card in my laptop and I got the Intel 6200 to work, but whenever I restart my computer, or disable and enable the wireless card, it stops working. In order to get it to work again, I go to "device manager", right click, and uninstall it. Then I "Scan for hardware changes" and it works again. Each time I want to use it after my computer is turned off, I have to go through this process, and add my wireless passwords again. Obviously this is a hassle I would prefer not to go through. I'm about to send the card back thinking that it has some problem.

Asus N53SM-ES72
Windows 7 Professional
- 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7-2670QM processor
Previous wireless card: Atheros Model AR58195 (worked fine, I just wanted a better one)

As the Atheros card worked, I don't think this has anything to do with my wireless router, but it is a TP-LINK TL-WDR3600.

Anyway, I appreciate any possible help I can get to prevent my wireless card from stopping upon computer restart! If no one has any ideas, I will just send it back as defective.

You'd have to purchase a high end amd cpu to contend with the mid ranged c2d models.

As far as c2d and centrino, the difference is pwr consumption and performance. About 40% with some models.

What is the difference between the Centrino and regular core 2 duo processors? They are both supposed to increase battery life and provide much better performance. Centrino tends to advertise that it is the ultimate mobile processor and best with wireless connectivity. Umm, but you can also connect wirelessly with a regular core 2 duo. What does the centrino have that the reg. core 2 doesn't?

I would like to purchase a Sony laptop to be used for home use, internet surfing and downloading music. It will not be used for gaming.

My question - in general is an Intel Centrino Duo Processor sufficient enough to handle this ?

It will. It won't be the fastest possible, but it will handle general use just fine.

I know they both have different speeds like 2300-2600 for the centrino one and pentium 4 3-3.8ghz but when I asked some coworkers which they thought is better, all said the centrino one because of the powersaving and the duo processor. However, when I search Alienware's site for laptops, the pentium 4 processor computer seems to be significantly higher in price with all other options configured the same. Why would this be if the Centrino duo processor is faster and uses less power? Which is generally a better chip? What would the

A:drivers for Intel 855 Centrino Chipse(from China)

Hi leo & welcome to SevenForums,

You may want to download the drivers directly from Intel here Intel? 852/855 Chipset Family - Chipset information and downloads and click the drivers you want (click 'download'). You will find that Windows 7 is not listed as operating system, don't worry, just download the next best thing (XP or Vista).

Make sure you download the EXE version of the file and save it. Next, open up explorer and go to where you saved it and right-click the exe file you downloaded & select properties. In the compatability tab select the compatability you want to use (based on either XP/Vista). Now click ok and run the file, if asked if you wish to install an older driver select yes.

The driver should install with no errors & restart your PC. You can now run Windows Update to allow Windows to install a more up-to-date driver.

Hope this helps

I'm running Windows 8 on a Samsung laptop which I've had since April of this year. The wireless adapter is as mentioned in the thread title, driver version 15.5.6.48. Windows update has been telling me there is an update for this adapter. I hadn't acted on it because the adapter is working and I don't see a need to update it right now. It was fine with a Linksys router, never a problem. At my current location, I am using a Netgear router and all was well until I updated the router's firmware. The laptop had intermittent connection drops until I rolled back the router's firmware. (I think the problem is Netgear's firmware in this case, not my drivers.) Since rolling back the router firmware, the laptop has had no connection issues whatsoever.

Today I see that the driver has been downloaded, so I have the warning that it is ready to be installed. I am wondering if I should go ahead and install it. And would I be able to roll the driver back if there are problems?

Edited to add:

I'm seeing this thread:

https://communities.intel.com/message/189189

It looks like I might be better off staying with the driver I have. I guess that's the thing--these manufacturers may make changes to the adapter such that an updated downloaded from anyone other than them (in this case Samsung) may not work. I've never updated graphics or wireless drivers on my other machines (XP and 7), choosing an 'if it ain't broke' approach.

I also see that Windows Update tried and failed twice to... Read more

This error message indicts that, if you receive Windows Update error 0X80070103 while installing updates, you might be trying to install a driver that's already installed or a driver that might be less compatible than one you already have installed on your computer.

Electronic recycling or computer recycling or e-waste recycling is the recycling of computers and any other electronic devices. Recycling is the complete deconstruction of electronic devices in order to cut down on mining the raw materials and rather extract the materials from old and obsolete electronics. Obsolete computers and old electronics are valuable sources for secondary raw materials, if recycled; if not, these devices are a source of toxins and carcinogens. Rapid technology change, low initial cost, and planned obsolescence have resulted in a fast-growing surplus of computers and other electronic components around the globe. Technical solutions are available, but in most cases a legal framework, collection system, logistics, and other services need to be implemented before applying a technical solution. Upgrading Intel wireless driver on Intel AC-3165 to 18.40.0.9 causes wifi to fail and cannot find any access points within range. My Intel Centrino 2230 dual-function Bluetooth card is built into my GIGABYTE GA-H77N-WIFI LGA 1155 Intel H77 motherboard. Upon updating all Bluetooth & Wi-Fi drivers (all-in-one card), I was able to get my VXi BlueParrot B250-XT+ to connect as a VoIP headset. There's one major issue, however: the input is incredibly distorted and low-level. If I yell through the microphone I hear a buzzing noise, but otherwise the output from the speakers is virtually silent. This is all with the microphone gain maxed out. Turning the gain down does nothing but silence the microphone entirely (I understand why). I tried to talk to my sister over Skype, and she said that she heard low-level distortion and nothing else. This headset works well with my phone, and has no issues pairing with the PC or phone. Whatever it is must be in the PC. I tried a USB Bluetooth dongle and was able to get great input from the microphone, but then the dongle stopped working. The adapter simply just quit. This was not due to interference from other Bluetooth equipment or software, as neither was operational while the dongle was installed. I would very much like help with this issue, as I purchased the motherboard with the intent to use the on-board Bluetooth, and it seems that USB Bluetooth dongles just don't last, based on my experience and the experiences of reviewers across the 'net.

Thank you for any and all assistance with this issue!

Hi all,

I have an Asus U56E which has an Intel Centrino 6150 Wireless N + Wimax network adapter on it. This card ran fine the first few months I had it. Then I installed Ubuntu 12.04 with my windows install and ran it dual boot. The card worked fine on Windows but I had to make some configuration changes on Ubuntu for it to run. I did that and it worked fine still. Then, naively, I installed a registry cleaner (wise registry cleaner to be exact), and some time after installing it and running it regularly (usually 2-3 times a week) something went wrong and I started getting this issue with my card. What happens is the wireless will be functioning for some time, perfectly normal, and then it will just lose internet connection. I will have to disable and re-enable the adapter through device manager to get it to work but that only works sometimes, most of the time the device just won't start again and I will get the device can not start error in device manager. Also, when this happens I usually restart my computer and sometimes when I do that (or even when I just turn my laptop on or come back from putting it to sleep) the adapter is not recognized at all, doesn't even show up in device manager. What's most odd about that is that the Wimax still shows up on the list of network adapters but the wireless doesn't show up.

Hello and welcome Sphoenix am no expert but one thing I don't ever do is us reg cleaners I use CCleaner to fix reg issues only. Having said that I find it hard to believe that any software would wreck the network card or any other hardware piece for that matter.

You say you have reinstalled 7 just how did you do that/ and have you still got Ubuntu on board? If not then why not make a bootable disk and use the try Ubuntu to see if you can access the net if you can perhaps there is something wrong with your 7 install.

You could also look through the reg for that registry cleaner entries as although unlikely maybe there are remnants left over. But it would be good to know how you re installed the Windows first.

I recently received a Samsung avit book 4, which has an Intel Cintrino Advance N-6235 wifi adapter. I just did a clean install of Windows 8.1, but I downloaded Samsung Update software to update some drivers, but for the most part I have standard Windows drivers. I have the latest intel wifi driver from their website I; version 17.13.11. The adapter didn't seem to have issues before, and normally maintains connectivity. I recently had the signal drop out, but it typically doesn't happen.
My issue is that I noticed the signal fluctuate up and down even when maintaining full connectivity. (See picture below). It will fluctuate near top speed for whatever router I am on and very low speed <100 kb/s
Is this normal behavior?

Thanks again,

Yes if there is a lot of congestion. As for speeds, it will only show when data is being transmitted. Depending on the size of the packets and how many, the bandwidth will vary.

I have an hp pavilion dv6 1355dx win 7 64bit intel core 2 duo. The wifi was working fine with my remembered connections and connected automatically within range. Then it started saying limited connection and would not let me browse the internet. After trouble shooting it said "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter" So I uninstalled reinstalled Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN it was listed under network adapter so I'm assuming that means it is the adapter but I was told it is the driver. Still confused on that. A friend suggested that I delete my remembered connections now it just says no connections available.

Under network adapter properties even tried changing the channel width for band 2.4 thats Value was set 20 MHz only to Auto, as I was instructed by my college IT guy. I've searched for the drivers installed the one on the hp support site. According to my model i have Atheros Wireless LAN Adapter, in the devices supported list nothing that I thought was the adapter or driver was listed. Downloaded the file they said contains the driver for that adapter...didn't seem to do anything other than install. Tried rebooting still nothing. Anyone have any ideas or is it just a lost cause?

Thanks

You could try backing up your data and re-loading your system from your backup software or from a restore point from before the start of your problem? That way the network adaptor will have a working driver installed.

I have a Gateway FX series 17" laptop and yesterday when I got home from university and took the computer out of my bag to start working, the wireless card just didnt exist, no networks were recognized and when i tried to troubleshoot it told me that no device was connected. Wired internet works just fine. And the wireless card appears in the device manager.

methods i have tried to no avail:
-turning the wireless switch on and off
-uninstalling the device and rebooting
-updating drivers
-manually downloading driver from Intel's website
-insulting the device's mother

I'm suspecting this might be a hardware issue but if anyone has some advice that would be great. For the time being I am just using a wired connection but I'm going to need the wireless when I'm. back in class

,Thanks guys

Hi There,
I recently moved house and got Virgin internet with a new router/modem. I have an oldish laptop whose wireless has always worked. Since setting everything up with the new router the wireless doesn't work. When plugging in the ethernet cable everything is fine. I know it isn't the router as I have a mac and a bunch of iphones and ipads hooked up. I have googled this to death and updated all the drivers of the laptop, restarted the wifi card, updated everything I could on this laptop and I still can't figure out why the wifi wont connect. I hope that you can help. Details are below:

hey all. first time poster. cool forum! let's see what you've got for me. i'd like to know what my options are as far as upgrading my laptop's processor. i have an intel centrino core2 duo t5450 (codename santa rosa) processor @1.66ghz. i understand this is a socket 775, and i'm seeing lots of different processors in that category - both mobile and not. i'd like to know which of those are compatible with my particular setup. my knowledge of such hardware information is nil.

i have a toshiba a200 w/intel 82801hbm ich8-do chipset.

any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

A:Need upgrade info - Intel centrino core 2 duo (santa rosa)

Your cpu is not a socket 775, as that is the desktop core 2 duo socket. You would have a socket "P" system. You'd need a core 2 duo socket P processor. I would think you'd be looking at a core 2 duo T7XXX cpu (eg T7300).

Edit: there are also T8XXX and T9XXX series mobile cpus, but I'm unsure of their compatibility, since they're newer 45nm chips.

I am stumped with regards on how to fix this one.

I am running a custom built Sager NP-5135, Windows 7 64bit system.

I am actually multi booting this system (Running Linux on one partition, and Windows 7 on 2 other partitions).

The Windows 7 partitions are, for all intensive purposes, the same (configuration wise).

Here is the strange part, the wireless connection on one of the windows installations (Call it Win7_OS_#2) is perfect - great connection speed, range is great, etc, etc (So the 6300 hardware is NOT faulty).

The other Windows 7 partition (Call it Win7_OS_#1) has a terrible time connecting -- the speed is slow (read it as "unusable"). It wasn't always like this, and I don't recall when it became this way as I normally connect using a wired connection.

On Win7_OS_#1 I have uninstalled the driver, reinstalled the latest driver, scanned for virus', trogans, malware, found nothing, and I still can not get it to work properly.

I have checked all the property and advanced settings for the Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 card -- they are set exactly the same as on the Windows 7 installation that is working perfectly.

Does anyone have an idea as to what else I could check to try and resolve the issue (without having to reinstall windows 7 again)?

Thanks for your assistance.

We're in hospital, she's I'll, I am 24/7 carer.

My Vostro 1720 connects promptly at home, WiFi or LAN.

Hospital has public use WiFi provided on each floor. Transmitter has TP-Link on the cover and twin aerials.

The Vostro can see transmitters for 4 floors, the signals come & go and, regularly disappear.

2 iPads & an iPhone stay connected unless, the signal disappears, in the same room. Signals are described as excellent or good.

The Vostro when I bring it in, after using at home, connects automatically. Twice has reached the stage when all 3 links I can see with a decent signal, can't connect, sometimes get asked for the password, run trouble shooter multiple times with no success. First time internet connection worked for 2 days, 2nd time for an hour, then couldn't log on to any link.

I'm puzzled why the Vostro doesn't hold the connection and the IOS devices do.

Public holiday over in a couple of days and I plan to catch the lady chief of the hospital and the IT manager.

I would be most grateful for queries, comments or, references to help in these encounters.

Dear Toshiba forum members.
First excuse me for my poor English because my native language is Dutch.

I have recently bought my third Toshiba notebook A Satellite R850-18W.

I already bought a replacement wlan adapter for the original Atheros AR9002WB adapter.
Changing the the adapter in the notebook is easy, I have already done that.

The only problem is, I couldn't get bluetooth working so I put the original Atheros adapter back in my Satellite R850. Everything is working, wifi and bluetooth.

But I want to buy a router with 5ghz band possibility and take advantage of the speed en less crowed 5ghz band. That's why I bought the Intel centrino 6235 adapter.

I need help in which steps to follow to get everything working like it should.

Which software do I need to un-install to avoid problems.
Do I need to un-install the drivers of the Atheros adapter first?

I think and hope it should be possible to make such a minor change in configuration of this notebook?

I guess there isn't an easy way although Toshiba has also notebooks were they use the Intel centrino advanced-N 6235 adapter. I was kind of hoping on an easy software install of drivers and the Toshiba connection software.

Hope anyone can help me with this.
Thanks in advance.

I have a laptop with an Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN nic

1) Shows up in Device manager as healthy
2) Has latest driver as per manufacturer (hp elitebook 6930p) running win2008R2 server.
3) keyboard wifi indicator lites up
4) Device shows up as active in networking devices

however, I cannot see any wireless ssid's to associate with.
I checked mfg web site for latest drivers and the intel web set for the adapter itself. After many downloads of win8 and win7 driver bundles (no support for win2008r2 apparently) I have not found a solution yielding a fix. I did stumble across a Intel proset/Wireless wifi software utility manual diagnostic tool v15.6.0.0. When it runs, i get:

"Wireless Hardware is not bound to transport driver"

To be exact:

- Result : Failed, Summary : Wireless Hardware is not bound to transport driver

With the same tool i can run it manually on just selecetd tests (hardware, driver, radio, scan, associate, auth, signal, ping)
All of them fail (as expected except the driver test:

To be exact:

I would suggest checking if your motherboard can support a more modern CPU. The Core 2 Quad is from 2008. You can probably get an i3 for close to the same price if your motherboard supports it.

Hello everyone.

I have been researching everywhere on the internet about this topic. Seems it's a pretty common problem with this model and many others. I just cant seem to find a straight forward fix. It started off with the laptob bios test which stated that my hdd was shot. I talked to the tek guy and he wants to charge me $375 for a new 200g hdd + service fees. I bought a 500gb off newegg for $50. I want to do this myself so any help would be awesome!

so far this is the info I got for ya. I ordered the recovery disks, installed em. Everything loaded up and followed promps so it cant be the screen or video card. BUT upon restart the black screen comes back, occasionaly with a blinking curser. Windows loads up after a great number of startups, but shuts back down.

The "Bios" pheonix, comes up; esc= unable startup message f1=sys info f2=startup check(doesnt work) f9= change boot device order f10=enter setup f11=syst recovery......... then black screen

not trying to recover anything and if possible complete reset or different OS like xp, ubunto or something would be fine with me.

Hello, Wireless functionality was lost on my HP Pavillion dv7t-6c00 laptop when I upgraded to Windows 10. Here's what I have in my laptop now: Manufacturer: Intel CorporationDescription: Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030Driver version: 15.11.0.8 I've read some support threads on this topic and it seems that this wireless card is not supported by Intel in Windows 10. I've also read that one suggestion is to replace the wireless card with an Intel Advanced-N 6230 wireless card. I tried to replace the wireless card prior to upgrading to Windows 10 with an Intel Advanced-N 6230 wireless card but the wireless card I purchased seemed incompatible with the laptop, as it gave me a Halted screen when I started up the laptop.  So my frustration is I would gladly and easily replace the wireless card but I can't keep purchasing cards that are incompatible with the laptop. What are my options?  Is there a specific/guarenteed HP Laptop compatible part number that I can purchase?   Even better, is there a link to where I can purchase a card that will definitely work? Thank you ver much,Chris

Hi,

I last updated my Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 on May 26 to the newest driver available at the time through Intel's website. That turned out to be a mistake. It usually worked but about once a week, when waking up my computer, it would have issues connecting to my network. A Windows repair usually fixed it.

Today I woke it up and could not connect at all. Repairing did nothing. I went into Device Manager and found that it said, roughly, "There is no driver installed for this device." I first tried to rollback the driver. Device Manager froze for about ten minutes. When it started working again, I disabled and re-enabled the wireless, found my network, entered my password, but it still wouldn't connect. I used HP Recovery Manager software to reinstall the original driver.

When it was done, it prompted me to restart. After a while, I saw a BSOD labelled DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (Minidump is a separate attachment). After my computer booted up, I checked Device Manager. My wireless was disabled because of a Code 22: Windows disabled it because of a known issue. I manually enabled it and it now works fine with driver number 15.10.3.2 dated 22 August 2013. It's definitely older than the May 2014 driver but not the original system installed driver, 15.5.6.48 from November 2012, which seems to have caused the crash.

I'm just wondering if my computer and wireless connection will remain stable and, if not, how I should fix it.

I have Windows 8.1 on an HP m6-1158c... Read more

Hi Malickfan,

I have analyzed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of your dump file :-

Now, we see that the "ntkrnlmp.exe" is blamed, but as we know that it is a Windows component, chances of it being at fault is very less.

As it seems, that since your Wireless driver was causing the problem. It should probably work fine. The BSOD might be a one time issue. In case of further BSOD's please don't hesitate to post back here. In case you want the list of 3rd party drivers to update let me know and I will post it.

Hi TSG,

I have a Sony Vaio laptop (WinXP) with B/G wireless integrated card connecting to a 8011/B Netgear DG824M AP/Firewall/Router acting as a DHCP (or is it DCHP?). I have connected to the router and other desktops/laptops on my wireless home network in the past.

But - the connection intially shows up as "Excellent" but then is lost and I am unable to reconnect. I have researched this problem on the net and have changed battery power saving setting, installed the latest Intel drivers, removed MS XP SP1 WAP patches that may have caused a problem and released & renewed the IP address many times but to no avail.

My Intel ProSET software says that the wired connection has an IP address of the 'correct' 192.168.0.2 (even though it is unplugged) but the wireless card has 0.0.0.0 (cannot renew its IP address). Have these adapters gotten confused or are there some other things I can try to sustain a connection?

many thanks in advance.

Hi Guys,
This is Viral. I am using an Acer laptop model ASPIRE 4736 since the last five years. There haven't been much issues with it. except for the battery and thats it. But recently, since last two weeks I noticed that my Wifi would stop blinking after sometime after I start my laptop and then it wouldn't work even when I try to turn on and turn off the Wifi switch(it doesn't respond anything). I tried searching the net for this issue using my office laptop and found that a system restore would help to solve this issue. Since I remembered that I updated Java as well as there was this ad software which got installed and I had unistalled it. So I did a system restore and then when I opened the device manager, I am not able to see intel r wifi link 5100 driver on it. I tried restarting my laptop and did everything and couldn't find the driver(it was there before the system restore). But later on the same day, the driver got installed automatically and the WiFi started working but only for a couple of minutes after the restart and then it stopped. So  I did the system restore again to the date when everything was working perfectly and when i did that, again my intel r wifi link 5100 driver is not shown on the device manager(network adapters). I don't if it would automatically get installed or not but its sure that the WiFi issue still be there. So can you please help with this issue?

also the pc is placed so, that in front of it (at about 1cm distance) there is a wall. the front side of the pc has 1 fan, aimend at the hdd's. at the back, left, and right side there is no wall near. i cant move the pc, but i want to know if this may damage the pc due to temperature increase?

A:replace standard intel cpu heatsink fan

First of all, just because the fan fits on the board does not mean it is the correct fan. The hsf must remove an adequate amount of heat energy. Failure to use the correct hsf can result in overheating.

Next to remove the hsf you release the four push-pins by turning counter clockwise. Lift off the hsf. If it will not lift off, then it is most likely stuck on the cpu. To fix this, pw ON the mb for 30sec or so and shutdown. Now you can remove the hsf. Clean parts with 91 or 99% alcohol. Do not use the 50 or 70% stuff you find in the supermarket. It contains lanolin and will leave a residue. Apply thermal compound IAW [in accordance with] the mfg's instructions.

FWIW I always recommend pulling the mb to R&R a hsf on an intel cpu. This is for two reasons;

1 With the board out of the case, you can check the back of the board to be sure all four push-pins are fully seated/engaged. If one of the pins is not fully seated, the system will overheat and shutdown. This is not all that hard for an experienced builder however for an inexperienced builder, it can be a real pain to get the pins fully seated.

2 I dislike having to push so hard on the push-pins when the board is supported only by standoffs. I much prefer having the board sitting in front of me when installing the hsf.

The summary is that I'm having trouble getting rid of the Intel display driver that prevents Vista SP1 from installing. More details follow.

I have an inexpensive Toshiba notebook, A135-4677, purchased from Circuit City in August, with Vista Home Premium. MS Update does not offer me SP1. For a while now, it has been offering me updates for the Intel video adapter and the Atheros network adapter. I have update set to advise me rather than update automatically. The display adapter is v 7.14.10.1322. I said OK and the install ended in a blue screen. I had looked away and never got to read the blue screen before the system restarted. The system seems to have restarted OK.

I still have warranty. So, I called Toshiba. I was told these adapters are made special for Toshiba, I already have the latest drivers, and the ones MS update wants to give me are inappropriate. I wonder if this could be true. I was also advised that, if I want to get SP1, I should go for the manual download. I don't know about that either.

Then I went to the Toshiba web site, found that they are serving up an OLDER version of the driver, 7.14.10.1132, downloaded it and tried the install. It terminated with the informative message, "an unknown error has occurred - setup will end." Even though things seem fine, I did a system restore to be safe.

The question is, now what? I'm thinking I'll attempt the driver install once again in safe mode, but I don't know whether I want to... Read more

A:can't replace intel display driver

The MS Update channel for SP1 is rolling out slowly over the next month or so (source: Thurrott's Windows podcast) so if you have the bandwidth to handle it easily and want it now I'd go for the manual download.

Toshiba's video drivers for notebooks are indeed usually specific to the video adapters in them. Usually third party video drivers will have stuff in them that the Toshibsa notebook-specific video card doesn't support and things get "bluish." I'm a little bit surprised that the video update wasn't flagged before it was implemented but like I said, just a little bit surprised.

You should hopefully be alright using just the Toshiba-supplied drivers and manual download and install of SP1.

Slow internet then none. Had comcast hard wire my computer (they stated my wifi card went bad)  but would still like to make sure computer is capable of wifi should it become necessary.

A:My wifi card went out. What do I replace it with? Are there ...

Hi: The easiest thing to do would be to purchase an external usb wireless network adapter. This is the one I use on 3 of my HP business desktop PC's that are running W10. It is dual band as well, so it works on both the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 Ghz wireless bands. https://www.amazon.com/Linksys-Dual-Band-Wireless-N-Adapter-AE3000/dp/B007ZLGXA8

So I've had an Acer v5 522p for just over a year now, and within the past 2 months, the wifi has gone from bad, to horrible, and yesterday, to non-existant. I've done what every other thread on this board, and other boards have said: reinstalling drivers, disabling bluetooth, disabling the power management on the wifi adapter, and I even did a factory reset. Nothing. So, I'm now looking to either buy a USB wifi adapter, or preferably just get a new wifi adapater card and replace the Atheros AR5BWB222. But, I have no idea whether the motherboard has a whitelist on replacing wifi cards or not, any thoughts? Thanks!

A:Can I replace my wifi card?

Hi,Sorry for the Wifi Issue, Yes the Wifi Card in this model is replacable,. Wifi Mini Card,. You could get the same from nearby Computer stores, I would go for USB receiver as its simple to use. Cheers.
