Hello, I recently received the HP Envy x360 and was hoping it could replace by HP Touchsmart Tm2. My Touchsmart came with its own stylus, and it was pressure sensitive and great for drawing. I want to be able to have the same thing for my HP Envy. I went to Best Buy to try out the HP Active Stylus, but frankly is sucked. There was no pressure sensitivity at all. Do you know if there are any pressure sensitive styli that will work for my laptop? Or will HP be releasing one soon? I love my Touchsmart, but it doesn't seem they will be coming out with new models of that anytime soon... :\ I don't want to go through the hassle of returning the Envy, but if I can't do art with it then I have no use for a touchscreen laptop. Please help!
Hello there,I personally haven't used a stylus on my laptop before, but the HP online store has a variety for you to choose from. With just the search of "stylus", I was able to find 10 pens, that will hopefully suit your needs. http://m.store.hp.com/us/en/SearchDisplay?searchTerm=stylus&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&...Best regards,Shawn

I have a Dell Inspiron 3532 with touch screen capabilities and I am wondering if there is a pressure sensitive stylus that will work with it. I don't want to use a captive stylus because those dont have the same capabilities for making digital artwork.
Thank you in advance!
Not with this model, no. There is a major difference between a touchscreen and a tablet-style screen with a digitizer - you have the former, not the latter.
There are not that many 15" and larger systems with digitizer screens - even the 12-14" units that have these start just south of $1,000 -- most are over that price. You won't find that feature in a budget-level notebook like your 3532.
I have an HP Envy x360 touch laptop and I bought a HP Active Stylus from HP.com. The pen worked in the screen to draw but the pressure sensitivity has not worked. I have tried changing all the settings in Windows and looked for updated drivers, but nothing changes the pressure sensitivity. Has anyone used the Active Stylus and gotten it to work on an HP Envy x360?
Hi Brian, HP Envy x360 Touchscreen Notebook has Capacitive screen, that means it responds to electro discharge when we touch the screen bare handed. So the Notebook screen will not repond/bare minimum respond to Pressure Sensitive HP Active Stylus as it works on the principle of Resistive where you have to apply little pressure. So You can check with a Capacitive Stylus as most of the Smart Phones has*. ****Click the White thumb to say thanks********Please mark Accept As Solution if it solves your problem********I am an HP Employee****
I work for HP.
So I've been researching for a few months now but have still to no avail found a viable solution/answer anywhere I looked. I have been looking for a stylus to use with my laptop which is a 2-in-1 so I figured it should be able to use one. But if possibly I would really love it to be pressure sensistive so I can draw in Photoshop with ease. It doesn't seem that any pen has been actually tested on this device though: all the Wacom ones haven't been tested, some say the HP Active Stylus may work but everyone commenting have the Hp Spectre so I would like to have a definitive answer if someone wouldn't mind helping.More replies

Is there one?

Hello, I cant find a clear answer on what choices I have for a stylus that I can use for my laptop, the HP Envy x360 m6-aq005dx. Can someone help me by creating a list of compatible styluses? I mostly need it to take notes in one note so I prefer fine tip and pressure sensitive. Thank you.More replies
I need help trying to find a stylus that would work for the HP ENVY x360 m6 Convertible. This was a recent purchase and I chose the 2 in 1 laptop for the versatility to use it as a teaching tool (writing notes in one note). Any suggestions would be appreciated. I do not want the option of a rubber tip generic stylus but would prefer something that has more sensitivity and pressure as I also have a surface pro at school (the envy is my home computer). Thanks!More replies
I have the ENVY x360 model m6-aq103dx. I bought it because I was told it is compatible with the HP active PEN. I bought the pen and tried it, it didn't work. I called HP for the TENTH time to ask about the compatibility and set up. I was told the active STYLUS would work, so I bought the stylus. It doesn't work either. The packages list which computers the pen and stylus are compatible with; none of which list the ENVY x360. I would understand if the HP "techs" had told me that my computer is not compatible but instead they say "it may be if it has the right digitizers/driver/capability/etc." So do I need a different computer or is there a way to make this one communicate with either of the writing tools I have bought??More replies
Me being an artist requires me to use a pressure sensitive tablet to work on Photoshop. Whenever I try to use a Pen Pressure option, it tell me that I will be needing a Pressure sensitive tablet, making me wonder if mine is not one. Is there a way to check?

Probably as simple as the correct driver.
I have just purchased a HP Pavillion x2 detachable notebook, and so far it is great. However, are there any pens/styluses I can buy which would allow me to use pen pressure when drawing in software such as photoshop or paint tool sai? Regular styluses don't seem to be able to.
If you would like to use pen pressure sensitivity you may download the pen pressure sensitivity driver off of Wacom.http://us.wacom.com/en/feeldriver/1 more replies
Hey guys, I'm having some issues with pressure sensitivity. Does the Lenovo yoga 3 support pressure sensitivity? (I thought it would, being a touchscreen laptop)I am using Adobe Illustrator CC with a stylus - the Adonit Jot Pro. I can't seem to use the pressure sensitivity functions on illustrator. I tried downloading a few Wacom drivers, however they did not make any difference. If the Yoga 3 Pro does actually have pressure sensitivity functions, how do I enable them or which drivers do I download.. basically, how do i fix this??Thanks!
Go to Solution.
Good day and welcome to the community.
The Yoga 3 Pro has a multipoint capacitive touch screen (vs an active digitizer).
If you need Wacom-style functionality (pressure levels, fine-point control, etc) you'll need a suitably equipped machine, such as a number of ThinkPad Yoga models, the ThinkPad Helix, or the ThinkPad Tablet 10.
Hope this helps to clarify.
Everything is in working order except the screen. There is no visible damage and it has never been dropped or mishandled. My problem is that when the hinges take the screen's weight, something goes awry with the internal wiring of the hinges. The screen goes fuzzy or the brightness decreases. If I pull the screen towards me using slight constant pressure the problem disappears entirely. Sometimes I can adjust the angle of the screen until I find a sweet spot, but its getting harder and harder to do that with time. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!More replies
Hello all, After successfully having someone solve my first problem with this laptop (involving a faulty fingerprint sensor), I have now decided to address the second, and hopefully final, issue I have been having. My microphone is not sensitive at all - however it is working and I am pretty sure it is a driver issue too. Let me explain. The microphone has always been quiet. One of the first things I did when I got this laptop last month was to Skype some friends, and they said I sounded extremely far away. I tried Skype's test call service and when speaking normally could only just hear my voice. I did a little bit of troubleshooting and even with mic sensitivity up to 100% and boost up to 30dB, I was still realistically unhearable. It got to the point where I tried uninstalling drivers, and I discovered that uninstalling my audio drivers caused the mic to suddenly work perfectly - however reinstalling them caused the fault to reoccur. I have reinstalled the drivers as I assume the Bang and Olufsen (Realtek) drivers are needed for high quality sound output or whatever - but I was wondering if there was a fix that would allow me to use the microphone with these drivers installed instead of having to uninstall them every time I want to use the mic? Note: the microphone still works, but is not very sensitive and I can only just be heard even when I'm shouting into my screeen! Thanks, Kyran Hill

What's the difference between the HP Spectre x360 and the HP Envy x360? They both look the same. The only noticeable difference is that HP Spectre x360 has a Radiance Infinity display, while HP Envy x360 has an IPS display. Having the same specs, except for the display, why is the Spectre x360 more expensive than the Envy x360 ? Moreover, I thought that IPS is better than TN, which is my guess that is the technology used for the Radiance Infinity.
Hi, You've got few questions about those products. Well, come to a store and yoy can see the differences. Better still, you can buty 2 machines and compare. For build quality, the HP Spectre x360 is much better than the Envy x360 you can also find Pavilion x360 - we are talking about SPECS and BUILD here about plastics and metals about wood and gold. I have an HP Spectre x360 Convertible with Product Number K8P19LA#ABM. I want to use it as a drawing and sketching tool. I have read several reviews from other x360 owners and decided that my best option was to buy a Dell Active Pen PN556W to use. Similar qualities as the HP Active Pen (which are not sold on my country) but with better reviews. I have had no opportunity to use my pen, as it is not recognized in any way by the screen.I have also installed the Anniversary edition of Windows 10 with better Pen Support and it still doesn't recognizes my pen. My configuration is:Windows 10 ProPen and Touch Support with 10 Touch Points
Hi, Is Dell stylus support HP machines mentioned on its specs ? You are asking HP to support another vendor's product here. From my view: No HP won't support other vendor's products unless HP does not have equivalent products.Dell may be very happy for HP (or other competitors) to support its products, it will sell more and laughing to the bank.Regards.1 more replies

Hi, just ordered the Spectre x360 after a lot of googling around about it's active pen support. I haven't been able to find the official "HP Active Stylus" in my country (Norway), which I've read quite a bit of negativity about anyways, however I found one named "HP Pro Tablet Active Pen" (K8P73AA) which according to a reply by an HP employee in an older thread (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Spectre-x360-Active-Pen-Stylus-C...) is supposedly supported by the Synpatics digitizer in the x360. The official documentation however, has no mention of this. I've also read an overwhelming amount of feedback that a recent firmware update disabled the support for the Dell stylus which many apparently found success in, so this is another reason I am uncertain. Could this update have disabled the support for the other HP styluses as well? Before i go out and spend a lot of money on this pen I was wondering whether someone has tried the HP Pro Tablet Active Pen themselves on the x360, or whether any HP employee could confirm this compatibility. Again, this is the black stylus (K8P73AA) (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/tablets/product-detail.html?oid=7530365) im looking at, not the silver/white one found here: http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-active-penThe lack of synaptics-supported styluses (and documentation thereof) was almost a real deal-breaker for me since im going... I received my HP Spectre x360 - 13t-4200 CTO one week ago as well as a new HP Active Stylus. I purchased both directly from HP. I have tried four times with tech support to help me get the stylus to work. Despite being assured that the stylus in indeed compatible with this laptop, they have not gotten it to work. The only solution they have come up with is to reset the computer to factory settings wiping out everything I have spent hours doing to migrate to this new laptop. In asking them what doing the reset will resolve, they do not know, but that is the fallback answer. I have received so much conflicting and silly information from tech support staff who actually are not famililar at all with the problem. They have updated the Intel video drivers and attempted to install firmware for the 15" Spectre but still no success. Does anybody know the steps to getting the stylus setup? HP have replaced the screen on the laptop which they reported as faulty but I have tried a bamboo and a surface pen on it and neither of them work. I bought this exclusively for use with one not and meetings and as it stands it is a lovely laptop except for this crucial point. if the purchased pen does not work, then what pens will? Hello, I've looked up how to get a stylus/pen to work now on the horrendous touch screen software for the newer x360s. I belive this is by installing a new HP FHD Touchscreen Controller Firmware Update firmware from your laptop's specific model. My questions are: can I use download another 13 inch model's touchscreen firmware to make it work? Or will it be incompatible? But more importantly, CAN HP PLEASE RELEASE A TOUCHSCREEN FIRMWARE UPDATE FOR THE 4193NR AND ALL OTHER SPECTRE MODELS? Lastly, if you guys have any tips circumventing this and making the stylus to work without the firmware, I would be extremely grateful for any of your help. ThanksMore replies

It was the most bizzare thing, as it literally just cut out while I was writing and did not show any signs that it was defective beforehand. On top of that, I checked my laptop with an old Active Stylus that my laptop had always been able to recognize, but could not write with it because of a faulty tip on it, and my laptop did not recognize that pen as well. This leads me to believe that there is something wrong with my laptop (hopefully I am wrong about that). My laptop is fully updated and I checked for driver updates on the HP page for my laptop pertaining to stylus, but could not find something. PLZ HELP.

Does anybody know of a compatible stylus for the HP Envy M7 Notebook? I contacted HP sales and they didn't have anything to offer me, and recommended I find a retailer that may have a universal stylus. Does anybody know of any? Danny
Hi, The question is does your HP Envy M7 support stylus. My answer is, I don't know bacause I've got no idea what is your HP Envy M7 (M7 is a series of dozens if not hundreds of models around). Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108Regards.1 more replies

Hi @threadfin410?, What email are you using (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo...)? And are you accessing it in an Internet browser? Do you access the same email account on any other devices? When the messages are deleted, can you still find them in your Deleted/Trash folder? Any additional info would be helpful.3 more replies
Hello. I have just bought this notebook and I searching on google i noticed it has an internal M.2 port next to the HDD, and in this hp official manual it mentions M.2 SSS support, but not for this specified model. How do i check compatibility ? (mostly with BIOS). It would be awesome if i could add a SSD without loosing the 1TB hdd. Thank you.More replies
hi, I bought a HP Envy x360 laptop (m6-w103dx) in the US a couple of months ago and today it has just shut down (died) on me and I cannot boot it up. Power cable light is on, so has power, but nothing's happening.I plug in the charger and the orange light turns on and then when I click the power button it blinks white one time then it turns off right away.Any help would be appreciated... Thanks...
If you leave the power adapter plugged in dose the led stay amber? That means it is charging. Your troubleshooting describes a notebook with too low of a battery charge to boot into Windows. Let it charge for an hour or so before trying to power it on.5 more replies
Hi, looking for a convertible, X360 style, laptop. The IT guy says I need i7 with dedicated graphics and it needs to be able to replace my desktop so run dual screens, hook up to the network, sit off to the side of my desk while I use a full keyboard. The HP Envy X360 seems to tick the i7 and graphics card boxes but I just can't find out whether there is anyway to replicate a normal docking station....anyone able to help?More replies

I've had this HP Envy for a little over a year now, and shortly after having it the keyboard backlight just stopped working. It didn't really bother me until recently, as now I find that I'm in situations where the backlight would be handy. I've tried restoring the BIOS to the default, and I've tried updating the BIOS. The designated backlight key also does not work anymore, but its alternate fn command (f5) works.More replies
Hi, I'm having trouble with Windows Hello. When I first purchased my notebook, Windows Hello was working fine, I had set it up correctly and had been using it successfully for a couple of weeks. Now, it's suddenly not working, and when I try to configure it in settings, there's an error that it cannot find the camera. I've been through the support blogs/forums and tried everything I could find, i.e. updating the software drivers, updating bios, restarting, etc. I have no idea how to get it working again. I can still unlock with my pin/password but it's just inconvenient when it was so quick to use Windows Hello before. If anyone can help that would be fab! CheersMore replies
Laptop will randomly feeze to the point it becomes completely unresponsive and requires a hard reset. This has happened consistently since I've had the laptop. In the last couple month the frequency has rapidly increased. I have contacted HP Support numerous times and continue to get different answers and the run around each time. - All Windows and BIOS updates are ran- I did a clean reinstall of Windows based on recommendation from the chat session. Then I had one agent tell me it was probably malware and needed to send me a recovery disk, then the next person said it was a bad Microsoft update. I've done everything asked and I still have a laptop that is constantly freezing, and this is becoming increasingly frustrating. I've noticed this seems to be a common issue with my model of laptop, and wondering if there is a fix for it. Please someone help me out here.More replies
Hello, I have an Envy x360 15t-w000 purchased a little over a year ago. Product number K8Q06AV. I recently cracked my screen and am having trouble locating a digitizer. I do not need an LCD, just the digitizer. Could you possible tell me where I could purchase one? Thank you!
This looks like one or both of these may be the correct part. HP's Manual: Manual provides no part number for the digitizer and glass. I would suggest pulling the screen and disassembling down to the glass and digitizer and compare to the pictures in the auctions: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Envy-x360-15t-15t-w100-Touch-Screen-Glass-with-digitizer-Assembly-15-6-Ne... http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Envy-x360-15t-15t-w000-Touch-Screen-Glass-with-digitizer-Assembly-15-6-Ne... Hello,I'm having some trouble with my Envy x360 (m6-w103dx). I like it a lot so far and decided it needed a boost, so I took a Crucial BX100 250GB SSD I had and cloned the HDD that came with the laptop to the SSD. Immediately on boot the laptop says the drive's smart status has an issue/failing (which doesn't seem right, the other PC's I've been trying the SSD on aren't showing the same things, and just this morning the SSD was functioning perfectly fine as the boot drive of an older PC)After that the laptop would say "Boot device not found, Please install an operating system on your hard disk" (3F0).So I figured okay, maybe I botched cloning the HDD. I plugged the SSD back into my desktop and wiped it clean, and prepared a Windows 10 USB installer. While I was doing this, I also put the original HDD back in the laptop to make sure it was still functioning properly and the laptop booted up fine just like it used to.I put the wiped/cleaned SSD back into the laptop. I'm still getting the message about the drive's smart status on boot, and "Boot device not found, Please install an operating system on your hard disk" (3F0). So sounds like I just need to install windows...plugged in the Win 10 USB drive, and set bios to boot USB first. After that Windows 10 installer came up just like it normally does but there were no drives detected. I'm pretty stuck at this point. I've tried cloning, wiping the drive and initializing it as MBR, and again wiping it and trying... Read moreMore replies

Hi ambowditch. so, your notebook having issue with no display & caps lock is blink. caps lock blink is actually was an error which is notebook motherboard was try to tell to user.what u need to do is, try to count how many time caps lock is blink. try do following troubleshooting first before u count the caps lock blink. 1. perform power cycle. remove battery & power adapter. then press & hold power button for 30 sec. then plug in power adapter only and power on the unit. make sure battery is not installed. if you lucky, may be the notebook will start with HP Logo and windows will load as usual. but if not, try to count how many time caps lock is blink. thanks. ghost. I have a brand new Envy x360 that I've had about a week. The power will turn on but there is no display, no HDD activity and lights on the cap locks and mute will not turn on. I've tried a hard reboot, held the power button down for up to 30 seconds to shut it off. I've connected it to an external monitor via the hdmi port, and i've disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes, connected AC power. Still not display, no bios post and no HDD activity light. At this point I'm guessing the motherboard failed. Are there any other troubleshooting suggestions or should I return it to the store I got it at (Costco) for a replacement?More replies

My new HP Envy x360 is supposed to have a battery life of 9 hours, but it doesn't. When it is fully charged at 100% the time displayed is 4 hours and 30 minutes. That is no where near the full battery life. What is wrong with my battery?
Granted it does grow from there but the most it has ever grown to is 6 hours and 30 min1 more replies

CyberLAGER Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about problems with your new HP PC and wanted to help. You should not be having problems with a PC this new. While this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly to have them put you in touch with HP Technical Support to see what they can do about diagnosing and repairing your machine remotely.I did this recently and the HP Tech was able to remotely access my PC from the Internet and do the needed repairs. Hello to everybody. This is my first post in this forum since I've always found an answer to my problems but not this time, so sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section.Yesterday my laptop died and I don't know what happened. I was working as usual, and after lunch, I closed the laptop and took a nap. When I woke up I opened the laptop, pressed the "on" button and it didn't start.I continued to do so. Never started. When I press it three lights turn on: the "on" button itself; the caps lock (white light); and the light with discs (hdd?) which is orange. Those three lights turn on when I push the on button, and all of them beeps once.I searched this forums and everybody suggested hard reset. I can't do a hard reset on this one, the tutorials didnt work.I also called HP Support but they couldnt assist me because my warranty expired 5 days ago (so convenient)I didnt hit the computer or nothing. I live alone so during nap time nothing happenned.Any help? Thanks in advance!!More replies
So the power button on my HP detached from the laptop. Long story short, I was boarding back home and hit a rock and fell forward therefore breaking the corner of the power button and shatter the touchscreen. I was still workin fine, except the fact that the screen was shattered and the power chip was dangling out of the laptop. It survived a few weeks before the power chip fell out. I couldnt find the time to go to a store to see what they could do. the only thing keeping it alive was the charging power but I fell asleep with the laptop on. Lucky me. The laptop was working perfectly. I've had it for some time right now. I have ALOT of important files and documents. I was wondering if there was a short-cut or a way I can get my Laptop on without using the power button. I just want to back-up everything i have in the laptop and make a desicion of getting a new one or fixing this one.More replies
