Q: Difference between Yoga 900-13ISK and Yoga 900-13I...

What are the differences, if any? Also, is there a Lenovo application that detects the installed drivers and prompts me to download newer versions if available? I can't seem to find anything similar to the Lenovo Updater that I had on my Y-50. Thanks

A: Difference between Yoga 900-13ISK and Yoga 900-13I...

Good day.

The major differences I see, looking at: http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Lenovo_Yoga_900_13_inch are: the SK2 has Intel Iris HD 540 graphics, slightly different CPUs and PCIe SSDs.

Regarding driver updates, there's a feature in Lenovo Companion that assists with that.

Hope this helps clarify.
Regards.

Hi, I bought new Yoga 900-13ISK (ornage) 3 months ago. I've just realized that sometimes it is not quite stable on a flat table (it swings a little bit). What is more worrying - I am able to straighten it just by stressing all laptop corners with my hands. After some time the problem occurs again. This mean that some part of the laptop (aluminium bottom casing, frame or sth that is reponsible for making the computer a stiff is not working ok... Or maybe it is a feature?  Anyone noticed sth similar?  Jacob

I love my new Yoga 900 but I'm struggling with one issue that's driving me a bit bonkers. I use the Yoga as my home computer that needs to be connected to both an external display as well as a gigabit ethernet.  I purchased the Dell D1000 usb3 port replicator that has display ports, usb ports as well as a gigbit ethernet.  The displays work fine, and the ethernet and usb work fine whe the Yoga is awake, but my problem is waking the Yoga from sleep.  If my mouse is plugged into the Dell D1000 usb port, it will NOT wake the Yoga from sleep (neither will a usb keyboard or the wake-on-lan feature of the ethernet).  If I unplug the usb receiver for the mouse and plug it directly into the Yoga, it does awaken the PC from sleep. Problem: I really need the Wake-On-Lan feature and my understanding is that the Wireless LAN will not work for wake-on-lan.  is there any way to make the wake-on-lan (or any other wake feature) work through a usb adapter? I've made wake-on-lan work for every PC I've owned in the past several years, so I think I know how it works, but i can't seem to make it function for the Yoga, no matter what.  There is NO bios setting for wake-on-lan (or wake on anything) that I can find. Anybody made wake from usb port replicator work on a Yoga 900?  If so, please share what replicators/devices you used and how they were configured. Thanks ... Ed

Hi, This morning my screen was black (but not off, the backlight works) and when I turn it on the screen works for about a second before it goes black again. I can use an external monitor. I have updated as much as I can, all drivers should be updated, and I ran a system check with Lenovo companion, nothing was found. I can't seem to safe mode to work on the external monitor.Yesterday I updated Windows 10 (Cumulative update, KB3176938). Can anyone help?

Hi guys, I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 900 last week from an online seller here in Germany. When it arrived, I did a full system check to make sure everything is working on this close to ? 1400 machine. It turns out everything except the internal microphone is working fine. Specifically, I cannot use the microphone whatsoever. I just hear a loud, static noise when I listen to the mic through the speakers. When I say something, I don't hear anything I say though, only the static.  So I tried updating all my drivers and playing around with the properties of my microphone like changing levels up to all the way down and disabling/enabling various sound effects. All this didn't resolve my issue. So I tried more invasive stuff like updating my BIOS and, as a last resort, reset Windows 10. To all avail, this also didn't resolve my issue. So I am out of answers now and suspecting that my built-in microphone has been poorly shielded or has some broken wire somewhere.  What do you guys think? I can't find anything about microphone issues on the Yoga 900 and wanted to make sure that it's in fact a hardware fault.

Several times my brand new Yoga 900 shut off unexpectedly, visually looked like a kill-switch off, not a Windows shutdown or something. Different battery charge level: 30%, 55%, 75%, 95%--didn't matter; even on AC once. I had to turn it on and continue work. It irritated a log. But the last time it just didn't turn on. When I press Power button, the keyboard lits, the fan goes crazy, the screen stays black, and in five seconds it turns off. The same with NOVO button, but some times no fan going crazy, and no shutdown in five seconds, just nothing happening: the power button glows, the screen is black, no reaction on keyboard or screen touches--have to power it off in some time. I saw similar problems with Yoga 500 or 700, some say disconnecting the battery helps. I don't know about 500 or 700, but in 900 the battery is not detachable, and I assume taking the cover off to reach the battery would clear away the warranty, so that is not the solution in my case. Unfortunately, I am away from the States now, where I had a purchase, so sending it back not an option at the moment. Could anyone advise, please? Thanks!

Hi All,  I bought a Yoga 900-13ISK and after 6 months, with no reason at all, it crashed. The only thing I get is the Lenovo sign when I turn it on. I then get a blue pop up screen (After 10 minutes aproximately) stating "Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed. Insert Recovery Media and Hit any Key. Then select 'Boot Manager' to choose a new Boot Device or to Boot Recovery Media. If I reboot it to get the BIOS Menu, it does not do anything until 30 minutes later, that the BIOS screen starts up (I can see the Hard Disk detected (Liteon CV1-8B256 SSD). I tried booting it with a USB containing hiren software with XP and errors still appear. Any idea? I haven't installed anything weird lately. It started happening from one day to the other. Any clues? ThanksErnesto

I purchased my Yoga 900 a month or so ago and it's been great.  All of the sudden this morning it wouldn't boot.  There are no visible lights on the machine, the power button doesn't react or glow.   I've tried fiddling with the AC adapter, making sure all cables are tight and that the outlet is function.  I've tried powering it on with and without the AC attached.  I've tried holding down the power button for 30 seconds.  I've tried to press that little reset button with a toothpick. No response. Any ideas?

I'm usually a pretty careful person but in my one rare clumsy moment, I managed to drop my Yoga 900 on the floor from maybe a height of less than a metre.  The screen is cracked starting from the top right hand corner and has a hairline fracture all the way to the bottom left corner. It still works, as in I can still see things on the screen, but I keep getting jumpy cursors and whatnot (expected of a cracked touch-enabled screen). So my question is: What am I suppose to do? I've called Lenovo Support and I've chatted with an Encompass technician, and although they were very nice, it didn't help because there doesn't seem to be a replacement screen available for purchase/repairs. I've only had this laptop for 5 months and it seems ludicrous to buy a new one already...... Edit: This is for the Yoga 900-13ISK.

My Lenovo YOGA 900-13ISK is a fairly new  (bought and registered Feb. 2016) laptop. Used very little, but plugged in all the time to the power source. I just finished the most recent Windows 10 Update around 7:00 pm EST on May 11, 2016. After it rebooted, I noticed the BATTERY indicator icon showing 95% in the GREEN icon. The black and white smaller battery icon shows 95% Available (Plugged in, not charging)! Both have been stuck in this position for over two hours. I just had not noticed this before, so not sure when this issue started. I can use some help in how to resolve this problem. Thank you very much.

Just bought this unit as an open box from Best Buy yesterday. I notied this error in the event log: The speed of processor 3 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report. I thought it might be because I was running on Battery, so, when I got home, I plugged in and rebooted.  I got the same error message. I called support.  They ran their hardware test in the Solution Center, and that reports everything is fine.  So, they would not help with this beyond that.  (First experience with Lenovo support not the greatest). Can anyone tell me if this is a problem and can be solved? Here is the full event dump: Log Name: SystemSource: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Processor-PowerDate: 7/14/2016 12:22:10 PMEvent ID: 37Task Category: (7)Level: WarningKeywords:User: SYSTEMComputer: DESKTOP-706LTTNDescription:The speed of processor 3 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. I recently upgraded my Lenovo Yoga 13 (which I loved) to a Lenovo 900 13ISK. I had absolutely no issue with the touchpad on the Yoga 13, but the Synapics touchpad is driving me mad. As I swipe the mouse across the screen, lift my finger to swipe a again it frequently registers the next contact with the touchpad as a click and if this corresponds to something clickable it will switch context. There appears to no configuration option to change this undesirable behaviour. Is this a hardware problem? Do others experience this problem? Disabling the the "Tap to Click" option is NOT a valid solution. Any feedback greatly appreciated. My OS is Windows 10 Home Insider Preview 14352, Synaptics Pointing Device 19.0.17.57

While doing some minor unrelated repair on my Yoga 900 I noticed a few extra ports on the motherboard. On of them (JP7) has a connector soldered in (looks like those for cooling fans, five pins) but nothing connected to it and two others (JP10, JP15) without anything. I'm curious whether I can connect anything to them, who knows where could I find some specifications for the motherboard? Maybe some people working at Lenovo can shed some light on this? I'd really prefer to have some information before I start poking around with a multimeter or something. Thanks.  Photo of the ports (sorry I couldn't figure out )how to embed the image). (I know that anything like this voids your warranty. Besides, it's possible to destroy your motherboard and other expensive parts by doing any unauthorized alterations or repairs. Please do not consider anything in this topic as an advice of any kind, you're doing everything on your own risk.)

I'm running ArcGIS and all of the menus and icons are incredibly tiny.  I've tried tweaking the resolution and magnification and there are no consistent improvements.  Every once in awhile some of the menus and icons will resize to something that I can actually see, while others remain tiny.  This is very frustrating as I rely on ArcGIS for my research.  I'd really like to keep this laptop because I like its size and portability, but if this issue can't be resolved then I'll be forced to return it.  Has anyone else had an issue like this and, if so, what did you do to resolve it? Also, I've experienced graphic issues where it said that the driver crashed and Adobe Lightroom is also not displaying my photos in edit mode.  So far I'm very frustrated with this laptop from a technical standpoint.

Perhaps you should consider returning the Yoga 900 for an older laptop that has a lower resolution, because the issues you mention are consistent with two things:

1) the Intel graphics driver for the new generation of Intel's "Skylake" CPUs and on-board graphics is still a work in progress. You are likely to see the error message "the display driver has quit working but has recovered" quite frequently on the Yoga 900 and laptops from other manufacturers using "Skylake". Newer versions of the driver from Intel improve things, but I don't think that we are quite out of the woods yet.

2) the QHD+ resolution of the Yoga 900 screen (3200x1800) is likely to give some older generation desktop software some issues, if the software has not been updated to use the scaling system built into newer generations of Windows. Teeny-tiny menus and icons are the result. Unless ArcGIS are planning to update their software to the modern age soon, you might be less frustrated by running it on a laptop that has a lower screen resolution.

Hello All, I have an issue with my YOGA 700 laptop when logged in multiple accounts simultaneously. Whenever an account is left logged on and the user is switched as opposed to logging off, the cpu usage ramps up very high with several RUNDLL32 processes being the culprit. I have checked the RUNDLL32 processes with Process Explorer and the command line are as follows:C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\EnableAutoRotation.dll,RunCustomMonitor The directory is as follows: C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\ The only solution I have found is restarting the laptop. The problems comes back when again more than one user is logged in. Also, the rundll32 processes only run high cpu on one account at a time and there doesn't seem to be a preference for a specific account, all of them are plagued one at a time with the problem. Disabling the Yoga Mode Control service is a fix but that breaks the mode control which is essential in this laptop. I have tried installing all the available software on the Software page foor the YOGA 700. The rundll32 processes drain the battery very fast and I can't always log off other users when they have apps open!  I have posted a screenshot of process explorer showing 2 rundll32.exe processes using 25% cpu usage each. However, sometimes up to 4 rundll32.exe processes open up and they use combined 100% cpu usage, which makes the laptop run very hot and slow. In t... Read more

After researching my options, I've narrowed my choices down to the three previously listed laptops. I just want to know which do you guys suggest and why?

By looking at your requirement, you prefer on-the-go PC that lets you do all that on a decent budget, SP4 is better than SB(if you want lightweight device and decent battery life), Lenovo's are pretty good too. X1 w/o OLED seems to be a better buy in terms of ultraportability and battery life. You could wait for others to chime in.

Hello, we got 2x Try-and-Buy Lenovo Yoga Tablet Laptops (an X1 Yoga and a Yoga 260) to evaluate their suitability for our company, since we intend to upgrade several of our employees laptops. However, ever since we got the devices we noticed on both of them frequent issues with the display and waking from sleep. Very often the laptops won't wake up properly with the screen staying black. In those cases the display-backlight seems to turn on, and I assume the system is running somehow in the background. Putting the computer to sleep again (e.g. by closing the lid) makes the computer wake up properly on the second attempt. Different error in the same category is when a video is running and the laptop is connected to AC - plugging out the AC cord made the screen go black while the media content's sound kept playing. All drivers were updated to the newest version via Lenovo System Update 5.07.0029. Any ideas? I also tried to open a support ticket, but Lenovo wanted to send and install a new display (!). Apparently, that seems like a driver/software issue?! Best regards

So three weeks ago, I was working on my Yoga 3 14" and popped to get a drink, I came back and the screen was blank, I assumed it had gone to sleep, so hit a key to wake it up. Nothing! The laptop was plugged in, so I know it hadn't run out of charge. After sheer panic, I contacted Lenovo, who told me that my warranty was out by a month, and that I could send it to them to diagnose, and they would tell me how much to fix, then it was up to me if they did or not.One I wouldn't be happy about not having my laptop for a couple of weeks minimum, but also it had all my private information on.I turned to good old google, and stumbled across this forum, and somebody with the same problem.Their solution was to unscrew the back case of the laptop (as mentioned above, my warranty was already out), remove the battery cable, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and reconnect the battery cable.I did this, and low and behold it worked. Fantastic!Only for it to happen twice more that week, and approx twice a week since. Then yesterday my brother contacts me saying his laptop has died, just won't turn on. His is the Yoga 2 Pro, I told him to bring it to mine, and I would try what I had to do to mine, to his, low and behold, the same solution worked. Seeing as I wasn't the first person to have this issue, and I'm guessing others have used the solution but not commented, this is obviously a fault with the Yoga range. I'm hoping that Lenovo can address this issue, as I fe... After six days the screen cracked (working with Best Buy now to get an exchange but hopes are slim...). In the likely event that BB does not cooperate, is it possible to take the screen out of my Yoga 2 Pro and use it to replace the screen in the Yoga 900? Thanks for any insights.

I love the Lenovo Yoga series notebook and is considering getting either Yoga 710 or Yoga 900. My question is:1. What is the new features or updates on Yoga 710 from the previous Yoga 700?2. From the specifications and price stated below, which one is more worthy and which is better in terms of what? Pros and Cons would be nice.3. I have seen some extreme reviews on both Yoga 710 and Yoga 900 regarding user's problem. Is there anything else I should know about these two models before consider buying it?4. I am especially concern about the graphic quality. In terms of specifications, Yoga 900 should be better from its QHD feature. However, I have seen reviews saying the Yoga 710 graphic is better than Yoga 900. What's the verdict on this?5. I am hhaving difficulty finding an acceptable scaling mix between resolution, system scaling, and edge scaling. At 1080p, 125%, 125%, os navigation is mostly fine, but edge text is way too large. At 1080p, 125%, 100%, edge text is way too small. At all combinations text is inflated (but crisp) in certain elements while fuzzy in others. What scaling combinations work best for you? I am considering returning this to Best Buy and upgrading to a Pro 4 / Book, or even a Mac. The scaling is ruining an otherwise great experience.

Hi,  I was hoping I could find some help/advice on which laptop to get for my studies. I am doing a masters in business so don't need the laptop for photo/ video editing etc. Mainly for excel, reading and taking lecture notes, research and writing essays.  I have narrowed it down to Yoga 260 & Yoga 900. I like that they are both hybrids and easy to transport. I was hoping someone could explain the main differences between these two and which one you would suggest for what I will be using it for. I was looking at the:- Yoga 260 12.5" i7-6500U, 2.5 / 3.1 GHz- Yoga 900 13 2.6GHz i7-6600U 13.3" 3200 x 1800pixels TouchscreenThank you

5mm SSD's aren't that easy to find, especially in 512GB or 1TB sizes. I think i'm going to buy a Yoga 700 aswell and get a 512GB mSATA with an adapter instead of trying to squeze a 7mm in there

Right out of the box, my Yoga 2 Pro had one major flaw: the fan is really loud and it's pretty much always on. Right now I'm using only Firefox and my CPU is running at 55C, my CPU usage is at 1% - 5%, and my fan sounds like a bicycle with a baseball card stuck in the spokes.  I can hear it over a pretty loud TV in my living room.  If I close the lid, then it turns off. From what I'm reading on these forums, this can't be normal.  I downloaded NoteBook FanControl and that works sometimes but not always. Any advice?

A:Yoga 2 Pro - Loud Fan, Always On

As a quick update/addition, this doesn't always happen. I restarted the computer right after I made this post, and now I'm playing a card game. My CPU is at 64C, but the fan is not on.

Hi I have a USB-C to DisplayPort converter cable to connect my Yoga 900 to an HP Envy 32 with a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels. It normally works reasonably well, except for two things: (1) It usually takes three or four connections (pulling USB-C connector in and out) until the monitor is recorgnized and (2) it flickers from time to time. Hopefully, this is an issue with the cheap cable and not the expensive computer or monitor! Now, the USB-C port is spec'ed as having native display port 1.2 video output. Does this mean that I should be able to use a simple cable without a protruding converter as the one in the link below or do I absolutely need a converter? Does the Yoga 900 comply with Alternative Mode DisplayPort? Are there any recommended cables? I didn't check the Lenovo shop in a while, but there was nothing like this when I last looked. USB-C to DisplayPort 1,8 m cable: https://www.amazon.es/Cable-adaptador-Plugable-USB-C-DisplayPort/dp/B01EXKDRAC/ref=sr_1_29?s=electro... This one's a little long for my configuration. A 100 cm cable would be enough. Thanks!    -Philippe Gibelin

A photo colleague dumped his Chromebook on my lap (gratis) with some !@#$ comments ... I will not comment as to why, and I thought this could replace my clunky W540 for pre made portfolio/slide or video presentations. OK, here is the deal.  The Cloud storage is nice, but I'm off on the road with no WiFi, at a client's house. Last time I tested the Chrome Cloud, the presentation 'stuttered' and the flow was disconcerting, and was a discredit to my abilities. I have mutliple prsentations, and 16gb is not enough, particularly when visiting distinct client with different or multiple  portfolio requirements. Is there any way to change the 16gb standard card to a 64gb (There are now 200gb micro SD cards!): Sandisk 200GB SD - The future. I hate to fiddle with the built in SD port, not counting the potential loss of these tiny cards.  I would like it to be an  internal or at least sealed and protected from accidental 'pop-outs'. As the eMMC is actually built on the SD card protocol, can I open and replace the meager 16gb with a more modern larger storage for of WiFi use. Any hack or hints before I pass this unit off, would be appreciated.  Incredible 'oyster' closure system.  Even the Chrome Pixel has a lid finger catch groove.

I do have and use the "SanDisk Connect Wireless Media Drive":  Did not try it in Chromebook yet, as the Google Store does not seem to have the Chrome extension.  It does play well on my Adroids (Cell and Tablet). Sandisk Wireless Media drive. That may be a way to go if I can get it to work as just a raw drive using some workaround software controls.  I guess another workaround and something else to carry & lose.

Hi everybody,

I just received my Yoga 2 13 here in Germany on thursday.

I thought some people here are probably interested about upgradability.

My version is a core i3 4010U, 4GB, 500GH HD. Price was 799 ?. I didn't see this version in the US Lenovo shop.

The HD is a special ultra slim 5mm version (WD5000MPCK) with a special connector (SFF-8784) which can't be easily replaced by a SSD.

But there is a free M.2 slot (NGFF). I already ordered a 256GB M.2 SSD (Crucial m500) and will try to move the OS to the SSD next week.

I guess the SSD models will occupy the M.2 slot and will have the HD slot free.

The Wifi card is also replacable. Unfortunally the memory is soldered and not expandable.

There is already a yoga2 13 hardware maintenance manual, just google it.

Hi,I know this topic appeared a few times before on this forum but I am really confused especially after a Lenovo employee told me via pohne I could basically use any stylus on the Lenovo Yoga 510. I would be very grateful if someone could help me.I read this article:http://www.howtogeek.com/177376/not-all-tablet-styluses-are-equal-capacitive-wacom-and-bluetooth-exp...As i figured Lenovo Yoga 510 has a different touchscreen (no wacom technology, no digitizer?) than f.e. Yoga 460, which is much more expensive. Is that correct? Is that why I can not use f.e. the ThinkPad Stylus? Or was the employee right and it doesen't matter?if not, is there any kind of alternative for the Yoga 510 apart from the cheap pens with the thick tip? I want something that is somewhat precise. I saw pens with a battery that appear to be capacitive by generating a small electromagnetic field like your finger but have a thin tip. Are these the only alternative for Yoga 510? Does the pen for Lenovo Think Pad definitely not work? What about the pens that comunicate via bluetooth mentioned in the article? Could they be an alternative for the Yoga 510?If there is no real solution for Yoga 510 and there was a Lenovo Laptop with a similar price than Yoga 510, with similar performance and with digitizer I would consider changing mine but from what I saw the notebooks with digitizer are either much more expensive (like Yoga 460) or have a lower performance (like yoga book) is that correct?Thank you very much.

No, it's not the only way. The Yoga 900 supports connections made to wireless displays as well. It should also support a USB to HDMI adaptor.

Planning to go to Europe next month and take my new Yoga 2 11 with me. Do I need to use a "Converter" to connect to the electrical system over there. I have read somewhere that if I use the power connector that came with the PC, it will automatically convert the electric from 220 to 110. Just wanted to get some independent verification before I do that.

A:Traveling with a Yoga 2 11

Hello and welcome,

With modern electronics you generally don't need a converter.  Your AC power brick/wall-wart probably says something like 100-240VAC/50-60Hz so it's "universal".  Please verify.

You will likely need a (mechanical) plug adapter to allow you to plug into available wall power.  This will vary depending on which contries you visit.  There are some more-or-less universal adapters available.

Several people have asked about using the Samsung 1TB EVO mSATA SSD (840 EVO MZ-MTE1T0BW) with the Yoga 13 and Yoga 2 Pro, but after hours of searching I can't find a definitive report that either a) it works! or b) specific reason why it doesn't work. I purchased this mSATA drive and had a professional install it into my new Yogo 2 Pro i7, but I tap the "recovery/bios" button next to my power button, boot into the BIOS, and see that the SSD hard drive is not recognized. I've been a PowerBook/MacBook user for the last 15 years, but the 3200x1800px touch screen, 2 in 1 touch Win 8.1 interface, and mSATA option that I thought would allow a 1TB connection attracted me away from my 11" MBA with 500GB SSD. Just a bit bigger, big heavier, but far more powerful... I'm very happy to move on to a new environment, just hope that I can get this SSD working. Lenovo's authorized service center here in Shanghai claims that the 256GB SSD that my 8GB i7 Yoga 2 Pro shipped with is the maximum sized SSD that will work in my laptop, and claims that this is because it's the "chinese version" even though my BIOS is in english... There is tons of information online that almost answers my question, for example: Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Hardware Maintance Manual (pdf) only lists drives up to 512GB, the largest drive listed is the Samsung PM841-512GB mSATA SSD (not the Samsung EVO series or the Crucial 512GB)Amazon reviewer Adam C reports he's using the Samsung 256GB ... I've done some additional testing on this today. First, I purchased an external mSATA SSD enclosure and mounted my 1TB Samsung (840 EVO MZ-MTE1T0BW) inside the enclosure, connect via USB3, and other machines read it just fine. So my 1TB drive is definitely good. No problem here --- yet that drive still isn't recognized by my Lenovo Bios. Second, I purchased a 512GB mSATA SSD, the Samsung PM841-512GB mSATA SSD, the exact model number listed in the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Hardware Maintance Manual (pdf), but this drive isn't recognized by my BIOS either, even though this drive also works fine inside my external mSATA SSD enclosure. Third, I installed a 128GB mSATA SSD into my Yoga 2 Pro and it's immediately recognized. When I switch back to the 256GB mSATA SSD that came with my Yoga 2 Pro, of course it's still recognized and works just fine. Product Name: Lenovo Yoga 2 ProBios Version: 76CN31WW (seems to be most current version)EC Version: 76EC25WW (why doesn't embedded controller version match BIOS version?)CPU: Intel(r) Core(TM) i7-4500U CPUSystem Memory: 8192MBHard Disk: Unrecognized (when I use 512GB or 1TB mSATA SSD)Windows License: STD I've isolated that it's not a bad SSD, and it's not a problem with the way the SSD is installed. The SSD is seated correctly each time. My same problem still remains. After hours of searching I can't find a definitive report that either a) it works! or b) specific reason why it doesn't work.&n... Hi, I'm trying to get the three finger tap on my Yoga 900 to simulate the middle mouse button. I've tried a bunch of registry settings, but none have worked. Does anyone here have any idea what I could do? Currently the three finger tap invokes cortana, something I don't need or use. Thanks!

Hi All,

I see this has been mentioned once before, but there doesnt seem to be any clear answer.

Basically the gpu on  my Yoga 3 11, is stuck at 0.48 Ghz 99% of the time, leaving the laptop more or less useless!

See image below.

Very occasionally it will get un stuck and run like a dream, ive been hoping a bios update would fix it and to be honest after an update it did seem to run un restricted for a short while. When i say it runs like a dream, its shows up at around 1.9Ghz on the Task Manager/Performance screen.

Its not being restricted by my power plan option (as far as i know), I usually run it on High Power setting, I have gone through the power Options and not noticed anything strange,

BEing either plugged in or not, doesnt make any difference.

I haven't noticed any pattern as to the reason why the CPU is very rarely unrestricted.

I have included a few pictures below and im happy to supply any other info which may help diagnosis.

As i say the laptop in its current state, is basically useless and only just about manages to surf the internet.
If i dont find a solution soon, i have no choice but to take it back.

Thanks alot in advance for you help!

My problem: I would like to take handwriting notes. The Yoga 900 doesn't include a pen. So I tried several devices (lenovo, adonit..) but failed.  Therefore my question: is there any solution? Or isn't it possible to use the Yoga 900 touch screen for handwriting entries? Thanks in advance!

Hi newyogauser and welcome to the community,

Yes, you can take notes, you will need a capacitive stylus and a note taking app.  You will have to experiment with different styli to find an acceptable experience. Mine isn't the best for a demonstration.?

Regards,
Dave

Hello, Is it possible to install Android in a separate partition? I don't mean an Android emulator, I'm curious if it's possible to run Android like the Yoga Tab.
