HP EliteBook 9470m - Cannot Adjust Brightness

Q: HP EliteBook 9470m - Cannot Adjust Brightness

Hi there, I have an issue with non-responsive Brightness Adjustment on my laptop. Symptom is that brightness does not increase or decrease when adjusting the setting using the FN Key + F9/F10 which are the designated buttons to adjust. There is also no change when I unplug from power outlett (which in theory should make the screen brightness come down). I have installed the latest bio, and have tried looking for new software/drivers, but to no avail... I simply can't reduce the brightness (and it's quite bright - to the point it is uncomfortable to use at night). Suggestions how to handle?

I just recently purchased a Samsung 500GB SSD and I want to add this drive to my existing storage on my HP EliteBook Folio 9470m. The laptop currently has 256GB of SSD stock on it and I'd like to add an additional 500GB. I see that there is a connection that I'm missing. Anyone have the exact part that would service this connection?  Or try this link if pics don't show up  Pictures of what I'm referring to on my notebook  Thank you all!!

I have an HP 9470m Elitebook that will not start up on a docking station. When starting up, it freezes on the "Please Wait" screen before login. I have tried it on 3 different docking stations with the same results. The BIOS are up to date. There is a driver update for the dock available, but it requires it to be plugged into to the dock, and when I dock the computer after start-up and try to install, I get the error message: ?Please connect at least one monitor to the dock and then continue.?  Unfortunately, this computer is also now just about 2 weeks out of warranty.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
64-bit
Windows 7 pre-installed
CPU: Intel Core i3 380M
Motherboard: Dell Inc. 07FXP8
Graphics: Generic PnP Monitor ([email protected]) on Intel HD Graphics
Dell Inspiron N5040

Beginning today, I opened my laptop from sleep and noticed the display was at its lowest brightness setting. I then tried to restart it to see if that would solve it, no luck. I did some googling and found out it could be a problem with the graphics driver. I then disabled it and enabled it. Now the brightness is at its max settings.

The function (FN) + F4, F5 (the keys to adjust the brightness settings) do nothing. The brightness status will show up on the screen and only change 1 or 2 notches.

I then realized I should have a way to adjust the brightness via the Power Settings in the Control Panel. I even confirmed this with a friend. I should have the sliders to adjust the brightness but I do not. It's very strange.

This is the screenshot from my friend:

Hello,

I would suggest uninstalling the graphics driver and get the latest driver from the Dell Support site installed.

Hi, Try the following. Download the graphics installer on the following link and save it to your Downloads folder. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72001-72500/sp72370.exe When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp69501-70000/sp69575.exe When the Chipset installation has completed, do not restart as prompted - instead, open your Downloads folder, right click on the graphics installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter. Start the notebook and let Windows fully load for a few minutes before checking if the f2/f3 buttons function. Regards, DP-K

No matter what I do the brightness will neither increase or decrease. It's stuck on full brightness, so it's not too bad, and I'd be loathe to send it in for repair and lose a week or work to get it fixed. Is there anything anyone can suggest that might help software wise? Thanks!

A:XPS 14 can't adjust brightness

I found another thread on this issue that solved my problem. "en.community.dell.com/.../19526400"
I have Intel UMA graphics and only had to update the one registry.
I needed to change only the first line in registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000] "FeatureTestControl"=dword:0000ffff
Here's a good Microsoft page on how to edit your registry file. Be sure to follow the steps to backup your registry first.

Ok I've had vista for a long time, but I switched over to XP and everything is perfect except from one small detail that is kinda big for me. I can't adjust the brightness in my laptopIn vista all I did was press fn left/right arrows to adjust it. And from what I know this is the way you do it in most laptopsNow in this XP I had to install all drivers. Specifically from this page http://www.laptop-software.com/acer-softwa...5738zg-drivers/when I install the graphics driver, VGA intel driver for vista is the one that's used for my computer from that list, the brightness just goes to the max apparently and I can't use fn arrows to adjust it. I CAN use fn arrows up and down to adjust the volume so there is definitely something fishy here. If I uninstall the driver I can use fn to adjust the brightness normally so I know the problem is when I install the driverthis brightness is driving me crazy! the driver bring something called Intel Graphic Media Accelerator which has an option for brightness, but it seems as if that's a different type of brightness cause it just makes the screen duller. You can actually still see a lot of brightness coming out from the computer but the screen is very dull. And it still damages my eyesany help?

My problem: the display of my monitor is way too dark, even at maximum brightness.
I have an ATI Radeon 9200 SE video card, my OS is Windows XP with SP1. In the video card's control panel I can adjust brightness, but it doesn't work. At some point it did, but since I installed the new Catalyst 4.9 Beta drivers (to boost Doom³ performance), I'm off to where I started: if I start any game; brightness settings get resetted. Most games don't allow me to get it bright enough, some to an extent I can't play them at all!
Now I said it once worked, what leads me to believe I must have done something wrong. I don't think the beta drivers are the cause, since I've had the same problem before, and probably nothing was changed in that area. I already tried to install them again, using Driver Cleaner. I followed it's steps, only forgot the "empty recycle bin" part, but that doesn't sound crucial to me. Then I installed the drivers again, but the problem remains.
Also, overlays for video never worked. But I can easily adjust brightness to acceptable levels with media player, so that's not much of a problem.

Can you give some advice on what may cause this, and what to try? Maybe there are there other programs that adjust brightness for all aplications? Any help is welcome.

Hi, I too have a Samsung Monitor (T220) which possibly - like yours - does NOT have the necessary software to link with the 'auto adjust brightness' system within the Charms Menu. You should however be able to adjust brightness (and anything else) via the controls which will I expect be built into the side (or along the base) of your screen. If you haven't already got a copy of your manual you can download a PDF from Samsung which will show how to make the adjustments you require.

Hi! I have an ASUS VS238 monitor. I'm trying to change the brightness settings---way to bright. I push the contrast/brightness button on the bottom of the monitor and a little box pops up with brightness. I click on the up/down buttons on my keyboard and nada. Nothing happens. After a few seconds the box disappears. I've tried using the cursor, but as soon as it tries to enter the brightness box it disappears. I've tried the menu button, and the up down buttons don't work, but if I push the menu button again, it drops down to standard. I push the button again, and I get a box asking yes or no. It's set on no. I push again and it returns to standard, push again and I'm in a back and forth loop. How do I get the buttons to work? Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So I have read a lot of diffrent ways to solve this problem and I have searched for hours looking for a solution, yet nothing i've tried has worked for me. Whenever i press the fn key and try to adjust brightness then it does't, it does pop up the slider at the corner but it only moves upwards and downwards only one level yet the brightness wont change even that much. I only found one other person that had this problem and he got it solved, but he had an Asus laptop and he got it fixed with some Asus drivers but i have a Dell Vostro laptop. One of the biggest suggestions i have found that has worked for people has been to install some older display drivers, but that hasn't worked for me either.

I have no problem with most of the things except for the ability to adjust brightness.
I could not change brightness the way i used to by using the FN + left/right key, nor the slider in power options menu.

The screen seems to be at the maximum brightness, which in turn causing my eye to hurt after some time of usage.

Any idea why? I need some help here.

I would assume that the Fn keys relate to accessability options and they come from emachines. what driver upgrade have you done so far?

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum. But in the last couple months, once in a blue moon I couldn't change my screen brightness, and now in the last couple days it's gotten a whole lot worse. Usually, I can't change brightness either via my 'fn -/+' hotkeys or via the actual brightness slider in the power panel. A full reboot or simple hibernation then reboot both let me change brightness again. But the last couple days, restarting the computer just puts the brightness on either fully dimmed or fully bright, and I still can't change it.

This is an HP G60 laptop, and I've had windows seven for a year on it. Like I said above it only started a couple months ago then got worse this week, and what I've found on google so far was all for newly-updated-to-seven issues. My drivers all seem to be up to date according to the windows update driver function... Can anyone help me?

since a reboot fixes it (at least temp.) it is probably not hardware but software. Do you have a backup from before the problem started getting worse?

Do you have the win 7 dvd to do a repair install?

Well I've had my laptop for almost 5 months now, however I did break it and got a screen replacement yesterday. Ever since then my screen seems dim. I've altered all the settings (as explained on other threads) but I still can't get to the centre of the problem. I had no trouble altering my brightness before my screen replacement so I do presume that the screen that the shop fitted wasn't the correct one and therefore a cheap option.

What do I do?

How can I adjust the display brightness in XP? On battery power, the display automatically dims. I want the display to stay at a constant brightness when on battery or on AC power.

When plugged in, my aging laptop's LCD brightens, however it seems as if the power supply cannot handle the increased load, so there is a very annoying flicker; it gets dim, then bright, over and over. Could this be an inverter problem or the backlight or the power supply, or any combination. This is an HP, for anyone has any experience with HP laptops.

Hello, I have an old Dell Vostro 1000 that I bought for 150$. For some reason I can't adjust the brightness (it's at a constant maximum), I have tried everything, Windows Power Manager, the hotkeys obviously, and Quickset (currently uninstalled). I have factory restored it multiple times, updated my video card driver along with updating my computer with Windows Update, but nothing is working. I am suspecting a missing/corrupt driver or maybe an issue with the bios, but I can't figure out which one. And yes, I have called Dell, but the grouchy lady I was talking to said my warranty expired and hung up on me. There have been similar problems on Ubuntu, except that my Windows Vista is so different from Ubuntu that the solution on that forum could not apply to my OS. There was one more option that I haven't attempted however, which was installing Windows 7, but after some thought I realized that it wasn't going to change a thing. Is there anyone that can help me, anything will do: whether it's a temporary fix or a new operating system, it doesn't matter. The screen is so bright that it is getting to the point where it's hurting my eyes.

(I have also uploaded a useful but complicated guide that I found on adjusting brightness in case anyone out there can squeeze some information out of it to help me with this problem.)

Take a look at this thread that addressed the same problem of screen brightness.

An app called http://f-lux.en.softonic.com/ solved that poster's problem, perhaps it will work for you?

I have a new computer , HP recline 23 . OS is win8.1 . It came out of the box with win8 , so I had MS store update to 8.1.

The screen is set very bright , OK for day use but too bright for night use .

My problem is that I can't adjust the screen brightness. After clicking on the charms menu and clicking on settings , the brightness icon is greyed out . It says windows cannot adjust brightness on this computer. I tried the various locations where the brightness slider may be but all the relevant screens show no brightness slider.

I don't know whether win 8 had the brightness control before upgrading to 8.1 ( I mention this because several people complain that after upgrading to 8.1 , they loss brightness control amd regained it by rolling back the driver )

I tried the update driver option but it says my driver is already updated. The roll back option is greyed out
BTW the display adapter shows two adapters : Intel 4600 and Gforce GT730 . How do I check which one is being used?
Any ideas?

Hello. I Have a Dell XPS 15 L521X.   Recently updated to Windows 10 and I can no longer adjust my brightness up or down.
Right now the display is pretty dim.  I would guess about 30% - 40% brightness.  In Widows 10 I found about 5 different places to adjust your brightness and I made sure all of them were set to 100%.  I have my power plan set to high performance and I went into the advanced settings and turned off adaptive brightness and made sure both display brightness & dimmed display brightness are both set to 100% on battery and plugged in.  Rebooted and still dim.
My question is, on Dell laptops, should Windows have full access to control brightness?  Or does Dell override Windows with their custom software for display settings?   When I bought this laptop in 2012, the software, at the time, was called Dell QuickSet.  Is that the application responsible for controlling screen brightness?  And is it required?

Thank you,
Mike

A:Can't adjust brightness after installing Windows 10

Dear Jelda,
You could actually check if there is a problem in software driver or hardware by
a) Updating the display driver
Please update your display adaptor by going to My Computer ---> device manager ---> Display Adaptors ---> Update the drivers. For me, I was facing the same issue. On updating the driver, it fixed the issue.
b)running diagnostic tool test at the bootup. Restarting computer and pressing F10 or F12 continously
c) Going to BIOS and then checking the combination of keys to increase and decrease the brightness. For me, I identified that issue is with software drivers as in BIOS, I was able to change the brightness
d) Going to Dell support and then entering your service tag, Go drivers and softwares and select the WIn 10 OS to check for latest software
Please keep us posted!!! ATB

I have a HP Notebook 15 running on Windows 10. The Processor is Intel Celeron N2840. I recently Refreshed my Laptop To get rid of some useless softwares. After this refresh, Im not able to Adjust the screen Brightness through Display settings (the Option to adjust the Brightness is unavailable) or Keyboard (F2,F3) and the button in the Action Center to adjust brightness is also not available which I used to have Before. Also I updated my Intel Graphics Driver as directed in many Websites and also the Monitor Driver. But all these methods are not fixing my trouble. Further more, The "fn" key in keyboard is also not functioning, so im kinda' screwed with all these trouble.  It would be very helpful if anyone can mention any fix, Thanks In Advance !. P.S. Hey everyone, I don't know if you know me, but I was Wii Master 64 on Seven Forums, so, it's good to be here! I decided to change my name, but I couldn't think of anything better, so I just went with what it is lol.

Anyways, I about a month or 2 ago, I went and bought a new laptop since my old one was starting to die on me and stuff. It's a Samsung ATIV Book 4, and it's really nice. This is the first hick up I've had with it so far, and I noticed it happening today. I noticed my screen was really dim today as I was using it, so naturally, I use the Fn key to turn it up, but nothing happens. Up in the top left of the screen, it shows a little brightness meter going up and down as I turn it up and down, but nothing changes. I went to the power options menu and tried to adjust it there, and alas, nothing happened. I googled this problem to see what I could find, but nothing really helped... I even tried disabling the display driver and restarting it, but that didn't do anything. What do you all think?

HI.
My Dell XPS 14 L421X is now a week old, and I have an other problem with it.......
I can't adjust the screen brightness.
Whatever I use the Fn F4 et F5 keys (the indicator appears and move correctly but screen is always the same) or the charm brightness slider, or the power plan settings, or the advanced power settings with percentage, none of these options works. My screen brightness does not change.
When I go into the Bios, I can change the brightness using the Fn keys.
I've seen several thread about the same issue but could find a solution to work correctly. I've updated my bios (which was A09 to A12) even if in the driver page of my service tag I couldn't see the update (I had to choose "show all driver for you product").
I wanted to update the chipset and the video cards driver, but when I look at the version already installed on the computer they seems newer, and when I tried anyway to update the chipset it crashed and the computer wanted to restart (blue screen saying it but stuck at 0%) and I had to shut it down manually.
Does anyone has a fix for this situation. It really look like that there is an incompatibility of drivers but I couldn't put a finger on it.
My chipset version is HM77: 9.3.0.1020
Intel HD 4000: 9.17.10.2867
And Nvidia GT630m: 9.18.13.697
Thanks you very much for you help.
Regards.

Hello.

Please forgive me in advance for some of my spelling / grammar mistakes as English is not really my first language. Even so, I will try to make this post as clear as possible.

So here is my problem. I have an Acer Aspire 4540 laptop that I recently repaired after laying in my closet with a broken display for some time. So I took it to a repair center and got my new 14' LED display installed. Everything on my laptop is working fine, even my screen is working fine. The only issue I've noticed is that when I try to increase or decrease my screen brightness it cycles between the max and min settings rather than dimming or brightening respectively.

Now, I know I've had this issue before but I can't remember if it was already like this before the screen broke. I have tried rolling back, uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers several times yet the issue is still there.

Im running on Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD4200.

I know this is a small issue but I need to fix it since I spend a lot of time in front of my laptop.

Thanks in advance for your help.

A:Unable to adjust brightness- G50-45 80E300GYIN

hi nikunjpadhiar,

Welcome to the Forums.

When you installed the (Beema) AMD Driver, did you remove any previous traces of the AMD Display driver?

If not, can you try the following:
1. Navigate to the Control Panel (Icon Views) > Programs and Features and uninstall anything that relates to AMD Display Driver / AMD Control Center.and reboot. When finished, navigate to the Device Manager > Display Adapters and the driver should show a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

2. Install the (Beema) AMD Driver (VGA, HDAudio, SATA) for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and reboot. When done, the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter from the Device Manager should now change to an AMD Radeon Display and check if you can now adjust the brgithness.

In addition, check this post by marcus34 as he was able to resolve the issue.

Hey guys, so I've been having some problems since I updated to Windows 8.1. My screen is stuck on dim. It's not dim enough to be unusable, but it's dim enough that I wish I could turn the brightness up. If I use the hardkeys on my keyboard to turn it up or down, the bar will go up and down, but the brightness won't change. Same goes for using the settings charm brightness bar and adjusting via control panel. I've tried updating my display and video drivers, and messing around with the battery "power plan" settings, but after all that it still won't change. Any suggestions?

In the Power Options > Edit Plan Settings window, I notice that there is not a "never" option for Adjust Plan Brightness. There is for sleep mode, display turn-off, and display dim there are, as you can see below:

http://www.sevenforums.com/attachmen...gs_battery.jpg

My question is -- is this dictated by Windows 7 or the computer's BIOS? I know that may sound dumb to some, and forgive me for my ignorance. But, my understanding is the computer's capability to adjust screen brightness automatically when switching from AC to battery power, or vise versa, is from the BIOS. So, would Windows 7 display an option to allow you to turn off this feature if the BIOS allowed it?

Alternatively, is there any other way to disable this feature (i.e., other power management software, graphics card settings, etc.)?

Thanks in advance.

A:Confusion: Adjust Plan Brightness

Welcome!

I don't think you could disable the screen brightness setting from the BIOS. Windows does have control over that.

You can set it so that the brightness is the same for both battery and plugged in, in which case you would not see a brightness change when you plug it in.

Is this what you are looking for?

I also tried manually adjusting the screen brightness. The slider moves but the brightness is not changing.

Any suggestions??

A:Unable to adjust brightness in my windows 8.1

First off, figure out whether or not your laptop has an ALS (Ambient Light Sensor) which will automatically adjust the brightness (if all goes well). Usually it won't override a manual setting, but it's kind of up to the developer which one takes precedence. As for the keys not working, you probably removed (or didn't install after a Windows reinstall) the helper software that controls these functions.

Hello everyone. So recently during the holidays, I decided I would buy myself a computer to help me with the business I'm starting. Because I'm pretty occupied during the day, it is best that I do my work at night. This evening I decided to start on a project when I realized that the screen was waaaaay too bright. When I typed in the search box. brightness, the adjust screen brightness tab read Unavailable. I soon came across statements that claim a version of Windows 8 does not allow for desktops to adjust screen brightness, only tablets and notebooks. Not letting that stop me, I looked about to see if there was anything I could do to fix this issue. I use the " Go to Device manger and change the Display Adapters, which is now Microsoft Basic Display Adapter", that didn't fix anything. I even downloaded three different screen brightness programs; Flux, Adjust Laptop Brightness 2.0 and Dark Adapted. All three did NOTHING!Is there anyone out there that can provide a solution for me please? Because the screen is so bright, I can't get any work done at night because I start experiencing migraines within minutes and have to get off. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I wonder if this from Chapter 3 might have possibilities:========================================You can switch the picture mode to your preferred viewingpleasure, such as optimizing the display for movies or electronicbooks. On the desktop, right-click an empty area and click All apps >Settings > Display > Picture Tones.?? Standard: Standard picture mode.?? Movie: Switch to this mode when the ambient lighting is darkor when watching movies.?? Low-contrast scene: This will make a darker scene brighter fordistinction.?? Sharp: This will make the picture clear and sharp.?? Read: Suitable for reading electronic books.?? No effect: This is the default picture mode.========================================I know it sounds odd but maybe "Movie mode" might help.I also notice that early on in the manual it shows the operator at a fair angle above the screen. This is also likely to have a dimming effect. All seems a tad odd when all it needs is a simple brightness control but perhaps "that's progress". Humans are not digital LOL. I'm not aware of any buttons to change the display settings on this computer. However, I think I can help you find Hardware and Sound in the Control Panel. Hopefully all you will need to do is change the "View by" setting. I suspect that right now it is set to one of the icon views. Open the Control Panel, and in the top right corner click the drop-down menu next to "View by:".Select "Category."You should now see a list of categories, including Hardware and Sound.  And now hopefully the steps I posted before will work for you. so as title suggested I want to change brightness of my display of laptop. the battery icon bottom right by clicking on it brings up window's default adjust screen brightness, which is a lot of hassle multiple clicks to get to it.

I have found a few application that could help me change brightness (REAL and ONLY brightness) on multiple monitors at once but its just looks different than window's default brightness change via battery icon. there must be something thats included in window's default brightness change, maybe colors temperature or contrast I do not know which but it isn't only brightness thats changing for sure.

so, could anyone help me and tell me what the differences are? why does it look different and what other things are changed other than just brightness.

also if possible, an application that changes window's default brightness change on multiple monitors at once, which I have yet to find a working one.

Hello,
I am running Windows 7 64bits on my Toshiba Satellite Pro L650 and I can not adjust the screen brightness. Button Fn+F6 and Fn+F7 are not working and there is no entry for that in the control panel.
I tried to download the VAP drivers 1.4.1 as explained in the Toshiba bulletin assistance but it does not exist for this model.

Would you please help me for that ?
Thanks
Pierre

Do you use original OS that you got with your notebook or own OS installation?

As far as I know this must work with ?factory settings?. Have you changed anything?
Can you use other FN fnctions?

First off, I see this seems to be a problem across all of your computers and has been for years... why isn't there a fix? I used my brightness down button once and now it won't go back up. I can't adjust the settings at all, despite the graphic on the screen showing me the meter going up and down. I've checked all drivers, tried uninstalling and reinstalling lenovo energy management, and I've still got nothing. I've stopped short of a factory reset because that's super annoying having set everything up and then a couple weeks after purchase have to do it again. Any other alternatives first? Suggestions?

First, techincal specs.
I have a Windows 8.1 Toshiba Satellite L875D-S7332, with a AMD A6-4400M APU processor with integrated graphics. My display adapter, according to device manager, is a AMD Radeon HD 7520G.

Now, my problem is that I'm unable to adjust the screen brightness of my laptop. I haven't made any recent changes, and I noticed this about a week or so ago(I don't typically change my laptop brightness, so this could have been happening for longer). In the mean time, I've tried rolling back my display drivers, with no success, and also updating to the latest driver set, which has also not worked. I'm not sure where to go from now, does anyone have any ideas to fix this?

A:Unable to adjust laptop screen brightness

Welcome to the Forums.
What happens when you try to adjust the brightness? Is there no setting? Setting grayed out? Or you change the setting but nothing happens?

If it changes for an instant, then reverts to what it was, adaptive brightness may be enabled.

Hello,

I've installed Windows 7 on my Qosmio G30-140 but I'm having trouble adjusting the brightness settings.
Instead of allowing me to set the slider to any position I want I'm stuck with only 3 steps from which to choose from.
The last one is way to bright and my eyes keep tearing up from having to deal with this insane amount of white, especially on white backgrounds.
The other two are very, very dark.
What's going on? I've installed the correct Nvidia drivers.
Also I can't seem to set the brightness by using the FN keys on my keyboard. They simply produce no result at all.

Help appreciated, I can't work like this.

Thank you!

Has anybody has a similar problem or know how to help???
When I have some avi's and open them in any player they're way too dark.
So when I adjust the brightness in WMP, it will get brighter but the video and the audio get out sync. The audio will run regular but the video will run a bit slower.
This has become VERY annoying since all of the files are too dark(Can anybody shed some light into why this is?) and noone seems to have any advice...
I have tried other players but...
QT-doesn't play avi's or has a prob with them...
Divx- the brightness doesn't change
Real- you have to purchase it to get those tools....

Hi

I have had an Asus laptop with windows 8.1 for almost two years. Two days ago, I found that I can no longer adjust the brightness. When I use F5/F6 the brightness bar goes up and down between two levels but the screen brightness isn't changing. This has happened before but fixed itself within a day. This doesn't seem to be happening this time. I have checked some solutions to this problem but most people seem to have this problem after an update or upgrade to windows 8.1. This is the same operating system I have been using for two years and, as far as I can tell, there has been no update in the last week. I've checked the drivers and there doesn't seem to have been a recent update.

Thanks
Alex
