Yoga 2 Pro - SSD advice

Q: Yoga 2 Pro - SSD advice

I was wondering does all yoga pro 2 harddrive slot built to work with all msata harddrive. I'm currently thinking about upgrading my solid state and need a definite answer; not a guessing as I do not want to have to return and pay the differences or mess up the laptop itself:

Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB mSATA 2-Inch SSD (MZ-M5E1T0BW)

If the above solid state does not work, please advise on which drive will work. I needed to upgrade 500gb +.

My boyfriend purchased a Yoga 2 Pro for work & school (he does online school and online work), about 1 1/2 years ago for over $1,000. Upon purchase he experienced a lot of issues with blue screen errors, flashing black screen, freezing etc. After talking to best buy and local computer repair shops, they suggested that he return it to lenova for repair. He recieved it back from Lenovo who replaced the fan (which wasn't working), and then the hard drive. However it still didn't work, and he experienced the same problems as before. Given that this piece of equipment was essential for work, he gave up, put it to the side and purchased a new hp computer.

1 year later, I took it out from the under the bed to try diagnose it myself. After doing a hardware test, I saw consistent failure in the memory tests. My thought is that because the fan was broken the memory may have also been affected by the excess heat and was not replaced when the fan was replaced.

My question is the following:
Is this something that can be replaced/fixed?
How much will is cost?
How can I get it repaired?

Also the lenovo website does not recognize the serial number of the laptop when I try and search it, making it impossible for me to contact them.

Thanks, George

Hi, I have a Yoga 2 11 that had a failed hard drive and I have just rebuilt it (was W8.1 and now W10).  I want to make sure I get the resolution and DPI scaling just right (and out of the box) for my friend and wondered if anyone can check their Yoga 2 11 to see: 1.  The resolution that is set out of the factory2.  The DPI scaning that is set  The standard install leaves me with 1366x768 (which is standard and recommended) and 100% for the scaling.  I have a sneaking suspicion that the scaling is/should be set to 125% or even "Custom" but wanted to be sure.  I don't want to give it back to my friend with 100% if it was originally custom or 125% as he will take one look at it and not be happy.  I can't check the original as the hard drive went south and will not boot for me to check. thanks in advance.....Paul

Hello All, I have an issue with my YOGA 700 laptop when logged in multiple accounts simultaneously. Whenever an account is left logged on and the user is switched as opposed to logging off, the cpu usage ramps up very high with several RUNDLL32 processes being the culprit. I have checked the RUNDLL32 processes with Process Explorer and the command line are as follows:C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\EnableAutoRotation.dll,RunCustomMonitor The directory is as follows: C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\ The only solution I have found is restarting the laptop. The problems comes back when again more than one user is logged in. Also, the rundll32 processes only run high cpu on one account at a time and there doesn't seem to be a preference for a specific account, all of them are plagued one at a time with the problem. Disabling the Yoga Mode Control service is a fix but that breaks the mode control which is essential in this laptop. I have tried installing all the available software on the Software page foor the YOGA 700. The rundll32 processes drain the battery very fast and I can't always log off other users when they have apps open!  I have posted a screenshot of process explorer showing 2 rundll32.exe processes using 25% cpu usage each. However, sometimes up to 4 rundll32.exe processes open up and they use combined 100% cpu usage, which makes the laptop run very hot and slow. In t... Read more

Hey guys, I'm a PreMed student who's life revolves around his laptop. I'm always on social media, watching some show, listening to music, doing an essay, taking notes, updating some website, or emailing some person on campus. Of course, my old laptop broke. It was a Dell Inspiron. Now, I have a campus job and have been saving money(so money is not factor necessarily). After researching my options, I've narrowed my choices down to the three previously listed laptops. I just want to know which do you guys suggest and why?

A:Surface Book vs Lenovo Yoga 900 vs ThinkPad X1 Yoga

By looking at your requirement, you prefer on-the-go PC that lets you do all that on a decent budget, SP4 is better than SB(if you want lightweight device and decent battery life), Lenovo's are pretty good too. X1 w/o OLED seems to be a better buy in terms of ultraportability and battery life. You could wait for others to chime in.

I have two staff members with different Yoga models, but with the same pen issue. Say, for instance, OneNote is open. The pen doesn't draw or write, but it can select and still be recognized. When I try using an old stylus from an HP Elitebook, it works TOTALLY fine - even the button on the pen functions properly. This suddenly started after months of the Lenovo pens working fine. I thought maybe it was a driver issue, but it can't be as the HP pen works.... I'm thinking it's the pen itself just getting worn down? It looks okay though but may be just a little loose... Any help / direction would be greatly appreciated!

The app does not appear to install.  This same thing happens with Lenovo Utility.

I've had a Yoga 2 Pro for two and a half years. I recently overheated it. I replaced it with a Yoga 900. After six days the screen cracked (working with Best Buy now to get an exchange but hopes are slim...). In the likely event that BB does not cooperate, is it possible to take the screen out of my Yoga 2 Pro and use it to replace the screen in the Yoga 900? Thanks for any insights.

Hello, we got 2x Try-and-Buy Lenovo Yoga Tablet Laptops (an X1 Yoga and a Yoga 260) to evaluate their suitability for our company, since we intend to upgrade several of our employees laptops. However, ever since we got the devices we noticed on both of them frequent issues with the display and waking from sleep. Very often the laptops won't wake up properly with the screen staying black. In those cases the display-backlight seems to turn on, and I assume the system is running somehow in the background. Putting the computer to sleep again (e.g. by closing the lid) makes the computer wake up properly on the second attempt. Different error in the same category is when a video is running and the laptop is connected to AC - plugging out the AC cord made the screen go black while the media content's sound kept playing. All drivers were updated to the newest version via Lenovo System Update 5.07.0029. Any ideas? I also tried to open a support ticket, but Lenovo wanted to send and install a new display (!). Apparently, that seems like a driver/software issue?! Best regards

So three weeks ago, I was working on my Yoga 3 14" and popped to get a drink, I came back and the screen was blank, I assumed it had gone to sleep, so hit a key to wake it up. Nothing! The laptop was plugged in, so I know it hadn't run out of charge. After sheer panic, I contacted Lenovo, who told me that my warranty was out by a month, and that I could send it to them to diagnose, and they would tell me how much to fix, then it was up to me if they did or not.One I wouldn't be happy about not having my laptop for a couple of weeks minimum, but also it had all my private information on.I turned to good old google, and stumbled across this forum, and somebody with the same problem.Their solution was to unscrew the back case of the laptop (as mentioned above, my warranty was already out), remove the battery cable, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and reconnect the battery cable.I did this, and low and behold it worked. Fantastic!Only for it to happen twice more that week, and approx twice a week since. Then yesterday my brother contacts me saying his laptop has died, just won't turn on. His is the Yoga 2 Pro, I told him to bring it to mine, and I would try what I had to do to mine, to his, low and behold, the same solution worked. Seeing as I wasn't the first person to have this issue, and I'm guessing others have used the solution but not commented, this is obviously a fault with the Yoga range. I'm hoping that Lenovo can address this issue, as I fe... Good day.

The major differences I see, looking at: http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Lenovo_Yoga_900_13_inch are: the SK2 has Intel Iris HD 540 graphics, slightly different CPUs and PCIe SSDs.

Regarding driver updates, there's a feature in Lenovo Companion that assists with that.

Hope this helps clarify.

I love the Lenovo Yoga series notebook and is considering getting either Yoga 710 or Yoga 900. My question is:1. What is the new features or updates on Yoga 710 from the previous Yoga 700?2. From the specifications and price stated below, which one is more worthy and which is better in terms of what? Pros and Cons would be nice.3. I have seen some extreme reviews on both Yoga 710 and Yoga 900 regarding user's problem. Is there anything else I should know about these two models before consider buying it?4. I am especially concern about the graphic quality. In terms of specifications, Yoga 900 should be better from its QHD feature. However, I have seen reviews saying the Yoga 710 graphic is better than Yoga 900. What's the verdict on this?5. A:{Advice offered} - Advice needed

Greetings

My advice: Go in on a weekend and re-install everything

Ok, now onto more practical advice:

Firstly, get a picture of the network. This means getting a floorplan of the buildings, walking around going from room to room, and writing down the number of PCs, the software OS (and service pack level, if applicable) installed, current hardware installed and the router they connect to.

Do the same for your servers. It is vitally important to know what hardware is in each PC, and what the specs of the PC are.

Next, you need to get a Logical map of your network. This is a picture of the IP addresses of the Routers, printers and servers (and workstations, if you are not using DHCP), and where the different subnet's are situated. You need to see what services are installed on your Servers (WINS, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Proxy etc). At this time, it is also a good idea to get a list of the accounts on the Server. You need to see which accounts are being used to run certain services, and make sure that only Service accounts are running those services. Next, you need to take away any user accounts that no longer correspond to people using the system (ie. if Mr Bradshaw last worked at the school 5 years ago, it is time to delete his user account). Ditto with any user home drives assigned to defunct users.

Lastly, you need to compile a list of discepancies. Look at your list created in the forst step, and get an idea of what a standard PC is (ie: Standard PC = at least Pent 200,... Read more

I need to theoretically network 4 PC computers for a class. The computers are currently running Win95. The specs of the computers are:

486/25 MHz processor, 80 MB hard drive, 8 MB RAM

486/66 MHz processor, 120 MB hard drive, 16 MB RAM

Pentium 75 MHz Processor, 120 MB hard drive, 16 MB RAM

Pentium 133 MHz processor, 1 GB hard drive, 32 MB RAM

Security is not important. Trying to find an inexpensive solution. The users will not be technical wizards.

Questions - What type of network would you recommend and why? What role would you assign to each of the four workstations and any other equipment you recommend? What type of upgrades might the workstations require to make your solution work?

please help me, thank you

A:{Advice Offered} - need advice for network

Well, I would put in one NIC per computer, use standard Windows 95 peer to peer networking. I would try to upgrade all machines to at least 32 meg RAM, but 16 would do if I couldn't manage 32.

Hell, I guess 8 would work, but it sure would be slow.

I would go with CAT5 patch cables and a small, inexpensive hub, to physically connect the machines. You could use BNC (coax type) cable and skip the hub, but hubs are so cheap now that I don't think that is a good idea.

As for roles - put all the shared files on the P133 since it has the most space and is the fastest.

I am hhaving difficulty finding an acceptable scaling mix between resolution, system scaling, and edge scaling. At 1080p, 125%, 125%, os navigation is mostly fine, but edge text is way too large. At 1080p, 125%, 100%, edge text is way too small. At all combinations text is inflated (but crisp) in certain elements while fuzzy in others. What scaling combinations work best for you? I am considering returning this to Best Buy and upgrading to a Pro 4 / Book, or even a Mac. The scaling is ruining an otherwise great experience.

Our office is currently running a NT4 peer-to-peer network. It includes four worksations and an FTP server. I am wondering about the pros/cons of migrating to a server based network.

I am proficient with TCP/IP and WNT4 Workstation. Would NT Server be a tremendous difference?

A:{Advice Offered} - Need advice on migrating from peer-to-peer

Greetings

If the server is a Domain Controller, then it wioll be different. If you run it as a member ser, then you will still be in a workgroup mode.

Ok, if it is a domain controller then the difference is that you will have centralised accounts. You only need to create an account on the server, and then it can be used on any of the workstations. All the sercurity is centralised, to the accounts created on the server.

As far as a 4 workstation network goes, this is the main difference.

So i recieved my P40 Yoga a few days back. Installed Photoshop, Sketchbook and a few other painting softwares to test the capabilites. I was planning on using the P40 primarily for digital painting because I work as an illustrator. First issue:Touch and pen does not work together. In software like Photoshop this is extremly impractical. Like when you need to press a button in Photoshop with touch, you actually have to lift the pen off the screen before the touch reactivates. Would it not be possible to have touch available just for the left hand? And not for the right hand where you hold the pen. This may sound like a minor issue, but it gimps my workflow and especially the speed. Second issue:Painting and drawing with the pen works great, but in the mode where I rotate the screen almost 360 degrees, which is called the tablet mode, the pen cursor starts jumping all around. This happens only in this mode. Because of these issues I will most likely send the P40 back. Hopefully these issues are easy to fix, so I can avoid that. And ideas? Help is much appreciated!

A:P40 Yoga issues

Sorry to hear the pen/touch interface isn't working well for you.

Have you considered pressing buttons with the stylus itself rather than your left hand? Which buttons are you intending to push with a finger in PS while the pen is still in use?

The challenge for any tablet digitizer is allowing the user to keep their hand(s) on the screen while drawing/illustrating while knowing that a hand or finger shouldn't be registered. If tablets worked the way you were describing then there would be more chance for accidental, erroneous input from the user.

It's not impossible but certainly something I've never seen before, including Wacom products or any mobile tablet notebooks. If you know of one, please post a link as it would be good to see this in use.

Can yoga 900 be upgraded with nvme or ahci drive?  Or is it limited to sata?  If so, why 100 chipset should handle this.

A:Yoga 900 - SSD Upgrade

I put a Samsung Pro 950 SSD in my Yoga 900.  My system came with the NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLV256 drive as standard. Note this is a PCIe interface - very fast, but not compatible with a normal M.2 SATA interface.  Run "dxdiag" to confirm you have the NVMe type drive or not and buy accordingly.  You will also have to do a clean install if you get the NVMe drive because no one yet makes an external USB encolsure for the NVMe type, so you won't be able to do a simple clone.  And when you do a clean install, Windows will advise that it does not see a drive installed.  You will need to install some drivers first.  You can get them here: http://www.ramk.net/ It takes some time to get this done, but it works and the drive is very fast.

Looking at the new 710, and it is not clear what the graphics card specifications are. It says 940MX w/2GB memory, but my understanding is that can be either DDR or GDDR memory. Does anyone know which this laptop has in it? Supposidly a decent difference in performance between the two options.

Hey guys, I need to buy a new laptop for college stuff and I am debating which to get, I only offered those 3 because other than them, there is only asus which offers basically the same laptop, without the touch for the same price. Here is a summery for the specs of the models I am looking at:Yoga 900:QHD+ 13.3 " display, either the newer model with 256 PCIE SSD, 540 intel GPU with 8GB of ram, upgradable to 16, and an I5 6260UOr the older model with 520 intel hd, normal 256 ssd, I7 6500U and 8GB soldered.Yoga 710:FHD 14" display, I7\I5 and 256\512 ssd with the new 940MX and 8 GB of ddr4 ram(I am still not sure which model I will pick as I can afford any considering it is cheaper than the yoga 900)I like that the Yoga 710 has a bigger display, though I am not sure how noticeable it will be considering it's 0.7" inches, also it has a much lower resolution.I don't plan on gaming or doing any heavy work on it other than surfing, watching movies and studying so I am not sure where the 940MX and drr4 will come into play. The yoga 900 brings ddr3 and intel graphics but a better screen, a PCIE SSD and an updated I5.My main debates are having a PCIE SSD and whether I should go for a higher res screen or a 14" screen with a little bit more juice, also the 900 has more usb ports and a usb C which is a nice plus.I would love to hear your opinions, thanks!(BTW, the price difference for me is about 250$ when considering the I5 variants)

I've been getting the dreaded blue screen of death with the memory management error for a while now and knowing the RAM is soldered on I figured there was nothing I could do about it, shutting the computer off once a day seemed to help but if I'm using it for a full day then it crashes. Today I had a new one which was the BSoD and the pfn_list_corrupt error so I ran the memory diagnostic and it came back with a hardware problem with the memory, now I suspected that this was the issue with the memory management errors but now this seems to confirm it. So what are my options, just put up with it? It seems there's no real fix but aside from the annoyance of crashes and restarts which for now I can just about live with, is this going to ultimately kill my yoga or not? This along with the wifi problem (thankfully switching that out fixed it) pretty much means this will be the last lenovo product in this household. If I can get another year out of it then I won't feel quite as bad about buying it....BTW is the Pro short for problematic?

A:RAM replacement or fix for a Yoga 2 Pro?

Hi, No one should have to put up with a computer that is not working correctly. If your computer is in warranty do activate it.If not, and assuming the cause is a bad memory chip, you could explore a really invase alternative that is to replace the memory chips. This will requisite advanced eletronics knowledg, a BGA soldering station and new chips. AS you can guess this will not be easy and should be done by a professional. Or you could ask Lenovo for a repair quote. If everything else fails, new computer  Are your shure it's a hardware memory problem? Have you tried restoring to a factory image? Tried playing around with drivers?

Hello there, people of the Land of Lenovo. Today I come knocking your door looking for some help with my Yoga 3-1470 (80JH). Here's what's happening. The fan won't run. At all. I first noticed it becuase the fans run at full speed for roughly a second at startup everytime. This time, it didn't. Then, the OneKey Optimizer has the Dust Cleaning option that runs everyday, but running that makes no noise. None whatsoever. No amount of restarting has helped. The fans don't run on battery power nor when plugged in. I've tried changing socket and all. Updated the BIOS, too, which made no difference. Tracking the temperature on SpeedFan, it's clearly noticeable that there's something wrong. The ambient room temperature is always between 21 - 24 degrees C, but the computer goes up to the mid-40s when browsing Chrome even, where it used to sit in the mid-20s. The strange thing is that it's completely quiet. There has however started a new strange noise, sort of like a rapid and consistent subdued yet sharp series of clicks. It happens around the same times I'm guessing a fan would run, but maybe I'm wrong. What is even weirder is that when the fan is told to run, by say, OKO, it doesn't even always make this strange clicking. I'm aware it could be a hardware issue, but I need to make sure that it isn't anything else.

Have a good day.

Hi, Has anyone out there in the UK ordered an X1 Yoga with OLED and received it yet?  I ordered mine and it missed the 11 day shipping window.  When I phoned they said it has been moved back to the 8th Aug.  6 weeks after from my order going in.  I received no notification at all about the delay, which is quite poor customer service in my opinion. After some checking it seems the delay is the 1TB SSD, I have asked if I can modify the order to make it a 512GB model which ships in 9 days currently and have that order expideted, but lets see if they come back to me this time. Anyone else had this issue?

Hello all, I have a lenovo yoga 3 14 (bought in 2015) which has always been suffering from very loud fan noise when just browsing or even on sleep mode. I know other owners of this model had complaints about the same issue and Lenovo kept on promissing new BIOS releases that should fix this. So, my question is, are there any users who managed to find the cause of this and fix this? And do we know if Lenovo is still working on some type of BIOS update because up to now I have installed all of their BIOS updates, but  the  problem never went away. P.S. I know there is another  thread about this, but  unfortunately it's marked as "solved" when it clearly isn't as there  are many frustrated users that are still suffering from this design flaw and no actual solutions has been provided by Lenovo.  Thanks!

Last night I was using the laptop and didn't notice the battery was almost dead. After it died I turned it back on and used it for a few more minutes, when it suddenly shut down with no warning. When I tried to turn it back on, the orange battery light flashed twice (with it plugged in). After a few more attempts, it now does nothing when I press the on button, no lights or anything. Same thing whether plugged in or not. Also, half the Torx screws appear to be stripped all of a sudden, so I can't remove the battery either. Help?

A:Yoga 3 Pro won't turn on

The situation seems "not great", but fixable.  I get machines that someone has already "fixed", so I see some messes.  There is no reset button.  You were doing what I would so, disconnect the main battery, but stripping the screw heads makes things difficult.  Usually, torx screws are hard to strip if you are careful and the driver fits, but it can happen.  I use a reverse-thread 2mm bit in a drill set to spin backwards.  (just as I would do if they were philips screws)   I drill slowly through the head and either the head starts to spin by itself, meaning it is no longer connected to the shaft, or, more likely, the whole screw spins out.  Obviously, the screws will need to be replaced.  You can use a normal philips 3mm or 3.5mm screw.  If some of the heads came off without the shafts, there should be enough to grab with a small pair of vice grips.

I've had it for a bit under a month, and apart from an occasionally sketchy touchscreen for the first week or so, it's been perfect.  I have a crazy job where I'm in a different location at least every week, sometimes every day, and my duties vary from teaching to materials creation to curriculum development to programming to IT. Unfortunately, I got home last night, and it wouldn't turn on.  Fine; I figured that maybe the battery was dead.  Plugged it in, and still no joy, but hey, I figured maybe it wouldn't start until it hit a certain minimum charge level (a la many smartphones).  So I left it charging overnight, packed it when I went to work this morning, got here, and... it still won't start. Indicators/symptoms: The only I/O that appears to be working is the charge indicator (the small circular light next to the power button) and the power button light. If I plug in the power, the small circular light stays on (white) until I unplug it. Plugging in the power also sometimes causes the power light to turn on (again, white), and it will stay on (regardless of whether it's plugged in) until I force power-off via holding the power button. Nothing else works/responds.  The fans do not turn on, the caps lock light does not light up, the keyboard backlight can not be turned on.  Nothing.  As far as I can tell, the computer isn't even on -- only the power light.  I have tried every hotkey (and other key) on t... I've had my Yoga 900 for about a month now, and suddenly several issues appeared:-The Start-menu and Action center suddenly got really laggy. Live Tiles are not as smooth as they used to be.-Scrolling in many apps, including Start-menu is "jumpy". Whereas when I scroll, either with the touchpad or the touchscreen, it scrolls some lines and suddenly goes the other direction for a few lines.-Screen-brightness is locked to 100%. I am not able to reduce the brightness, neither from the Action center, nor the Lenovo settings.-Sleep-mode suddenly disappeared from the "power"-alternatives in the Start-menu.-Screen-orientation does not change, neither with rotation-lock de-activated nor activated. I tried to re-install some of the drivers, but nothing happened after I hit the "Run" button.

I updated this summer only to find that my YP2 wouldn't play nice with the new operating system. I tried all the bug fixes, to no avail, so I removed Windows 10 and went back to 8. (Boo...) I'm wondering if it's "safe" now to go ahead and upgrade... Anyone have success with a standard upgrade? I don't want to have to remove a lot of programs or change a lot of settings just to get minimal functionality.

A:Yoga Pro 2 and Windows 10

I finally got around to updating my Y2Pro last week. I scheduled the upgrade, then applied some choice driver updates, namely BIOS, wifi, bluetooth, dptf while still Win 8.1. Went to my notebook a day or two after upgrade took place, and seemed to have mostly completed. After some final setup, the Win 10 desktop loaded. BlueTooth was a huge problem. I tried numerous times with both 10 and 8.1 driver install/repair/uninstall/install/repair. I have a bluetooth mouse and the Bluetooth device selection under Win 10 was gone. It had also disappeared while updating driver in Win 8.1 so had some troubleshooting experience from that. At one point wifi wouldn't work, but came back under later repair. Finally got the Blue Tooth device selection back in Win 10 using Win 10 driver. Working for now, but not fun. Somebody should be shot for this, but it's been a long standing problem I understand. For now desktop is stable, but honestly haven't run this thing through all the modes it can go yet. If problems, I'll start with more driver updates.

Please let me know if you (or anyone out there) have had problems with your Yoga.  I am having major issues with my brand new Yoga 900, mainly around the display (weird window sizes on external monitor, display driver crashing even when no ext monitor is connected, etc).

Also main concern right now is I cannot install a network printer (relatively new printer that works fine on my win7).  Printer installs but i get the message saying that it cannot be set as default.  And it will not print test page (or anything else).

Lenovo Support site is completely useless. Cannot detect my device.  Cannot detect my serial number.  Keeps asking me to download lenovo bridge bs which I've downloaded and installed and does not do anything.

Considering returning this laptop and getting surface but am dreading it because this will be more downtime at work...

I can't help you with the display issues, as I have no way to connect an extarnal display at present.

Hope someone can help.  I have had this notebook for several months.  I called Support and was advised to send it in, but read horror stories about how long that took.  I have taken it back to factory and reinstalled everything, updated drivers, run the diagnostic package (everything is hunky doorey) and added a wireless mouse to try to resolve.  This is the problems I am having.1.  My touchpad is irratic.  I can not resize or drag when i am using it.  My solution was to add a wireless mouse.  That really isn't what I wanted.2.  My cursor freezes in the top right corner of the screen.  The cursor appears in a greyed box and unless I put my finger on it and drag it down to click something it won't move.  Unfortunately this doesn't fix the issue and i have to continue this until it finally corrects itself.  3.  When streaming movies, linking to websites, etc my connection speed is so slow that movies just drag or does the circle spin while loading and websites are very slow opening.  My WiFi gets about 10M download so it isn't the WiFi and other devices do not exerience this problem. 4.  Periodically when i open my notebook there is a black line down the center of the screen.  5.  I keep getting the message that something is wrong with my microphone and test it.  When I do it says it is fine.   Anyone have any suggestions?  Hope so.... Thanks, Sherry

I just purchased a Yoga 710 15 for digital art and cannot seem to find a presure sensitive pen to use with it that is compatible with my laptop and works with Adobe CS and other art software (gimp, inkscape, etc.). I bought a Lenovo Active Pen but it doesn't seem to work with my laptop (or maybe I'm just not using it right, I'm not very tech savvy and the thing didn't come with instructions) Anyway, if anyone out there knows of a pen that will work or can tell me if the Lenovo Active Pen (GX80K32882) that I have is even compatable with my Yoga 710 I would be very grateful! Thanks in advance!

My Yoga 2 13 is a bit over 2 years old.  The W key stated either auto repeating or did't work.  I took the key off to clean it, and now the whlole keyboard doesn't work.  Can I just get a bluetooth keyboard?  The replacement keyboard (I found on the blog) is out of stock.

Does anybody know if widi is possible on the Yoga 13?  I know you need an Intel wireless chip and the yoga comes with a realtek wireless chip but I know there are Intel half PCIe adapters that you can buy for laptops.  I just don't know if the yoga has a half PCIe slot available or if there is any other way to get Widi on the yoga. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A:widi on the yoga

I just inserted an SD card in my Y2P and it sticks out. I was totally under the impression it would be flushed like most Ultrabook. What's up with that Lenovo??

Hi, thank you for your post! Can you upload a photo of the issue to this thread, please? How much sticks out? Thanks very much. I want to buy a yoga but still waiting and reading about issues...

My S5 Yoga 15 won't turn on When I press and hold the power button, the red light comes on only after I let go of the power button, and it stays on for only 5 seconds.Screen never illuminates, fan doesn't twitch or move. I've reseated all cables, tried removing RAM, moving the sticks around. Even with RAM removed, the thinkpad does the same behavior. Pressing the tact switch only seems to reset the system. I've removed the CMOS battery and main battery to reset the CMOS settings. And that doesn't work either. The notebook is just over a year old.
