HP Pavilion 15-ab100 Notebook PC series (Touch)
Model # is 15-ab144cy  Serial # is (removed content) and Product ID is 9NE06UA

Notebook was purchased in February 2016 via QVC channel on cable.  (Home Shopping Channel) in US.

A few days ago, the notebook failed to power up.  Not a Windows problem.  It does not get that far.

It would appear this is failing the "power on" test, as there is a series of 3 long beeps, but there is never any video displayed of any kind.  Obviously using the HP Support Assistant is not a viable option.

Can you advise where to connect with HP Support or how to address this issue since the notebook is only a few months old???

I want to upgrade the RAM from 4 to 8GB (16 if possible) and upgrade the OS to one with a longer support life - I'm thinking Windows 7 or 8.1. Is it best to do the upgrades serially and which should I do first? What RAM should I buy i.e. ordering info? Which OS do you recommend and where is the best place to buy it and the preferred media. Thanks to those forum members in advance for your advice.butchiepoo

Hi, Please use the following manual:     http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01918142.pdf RAM: page 2 gives you RAM specs and max RAM supported. Page 67 gives you part number, you can use part number to order from HP or online stores. Please note: this is an old machine and RAM could be a bit hard to find now.For OS: Windows 7 drivers are available on itshomepage:          http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv7-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/374... You are much better to upgrade to Windows 7 than others because HP supports it. For OS, you can buy from a computer shop or order from Microsoft. Please note again, this machine is 8 years old. Please do not waiste more money on it. Regards.

My dv6 has gotten severely slow. I am currently running Windows 10, and right now it takes 15-20 minutes to wake it up from sleep and log in. Ive done a lot of cleaning and optimizing, but nothing has gotten better on it. It get's very warm very quickly and the fan always seems to be on high. I am looking to try and upgrade the memory, and maybe the processor (to quad-core) at least if possible to see if the performance will get any better. I can barely do anything on it now because it takes way too long! I do have a 1 TB HDD installed a few years ago and that has been working well, but everyday web browsing, microsoft office products and light photo/video editing once in a while are nearly impossible! What memory and processors are compatible with my machine that I could look into upgrading? Any help is greatly appreciated! The R & M Guide for this notebook says a max of 8G of RAM over 2 slots i.e. max of 4G / slot  and  DDR3-1600 MHz Dual Channel support for a Next Generation Intel Core processor. Processor = Intel Core i7-3632QM processor (2.2GHz, SC turbo up to 3.1GHz, 1600 MHz/6MB L3 cache, quad core, 35W and specs max of 2 memory channels  My current RAM is    Ramaxel 4G 2rx8 PC3-12800S 11-11-1f  (is DDR3 so 1.5v) My question is, as the current RAM is 2 channels (2sx8) can the RAM in the second slot (to go to 8g) be 2 channels or do I have to remove the current RAM and replace with two new RAM modules of 1 channel (1sx8) each?  If the latter is the case can I used DDR3L (1.35v), which is also a processor spec, in place of the DDR3? Thanks for any assistance.

A:RAM upgrade for Pavilion g6-2235tx Notebook

Yes you can use DDR3L since you have the 3rd generation processor. Here is the manual: Service manual You definitely do not want to mix low and high voltage RAM. If you are going to install 2 modules you want them to be the same density (number of ranks) and ideally, you want them to be identical.  So I would get 2 x 4 gig DDR3L-1600 modules.  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

According to the specs this is what you have: Microprocessor2.60GHz Vision Premium Technology from AMD with AMD Phenom II Dual-Core Mobile Processor P650Microprocessor Cache2MB L2 CacheMemory4GB DDR3 System Memory (1 DIMM)Memory Max Video GraphicsRadeon HD 4250 Graphics This is your Service Manual: Link to Service Manual You have this motherboard: For use only with computer models equipped with an AMD Athlon, Phenom, Turion, or V-series processor and a graphics subsystem with UMA video memory 638856-001 That is going to limit the processor and video options. Your best CPU is going to be this one: AMD Phenom II N970 2.20-GHz processor (2.0-MB L2 cache, 1333-MHz, 3.6GT/ sec, quad core, 35 W) 635496-001 There is no way to upgrade the video without also replacing the motherboard.  max RAM is 8 gigs of DDR3-1333. You just need one more 4 gig chip to max the memory. You have a 5400 or 7200 rpm 500 gig mechanical hard drive and your best upgrade will be a solid state drive.  Where are you located (country only) and we can start linking you to vendors. Do you plan to do the labor your self? Have you stopped to consider what all this will cost? What is your realistic budget for upgrade and we can help prioritize?   If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

Hi, I currently have a 1 TB HDD in my laptop, but with Windows 10, my disk usage is often 100% (even after disabling a lot of stuff). I would like to upgrade to an SSD. I have a few questions that I would like your help with: Is it allowed to upgrade to SSD? (I mean does the BIOS check something like hardware signatures, and would it reject a new drive?)Should I look for a particular size when searching SSDs online? Will I be able to retain my Windows license? (I can currently create a USB from Microsoft's tool and reinstall Windows. If I change hardware, will Microsoft still allow me to retain my lisence?)What other precautions should I take?I am currently looking at this SSD. Would this (and similar) work with my laptop? Thanks and regardsPrakhar

Hi @giftedmishra? ,Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 15 Notebook and issues with creating Recovery discs. Here is a link from Microsoft on creating USB recovery flash drive. Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues. Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue. If your computer is having problems finding and installing operating system updates, try using the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool to fix the problem. I hope this helps. Thanks.

The Notebook has 2 memory bays. 1 memory bay is accessible to the user. I replaced a 256MB module with the new 1GB module. I started the computer up and it booted just fine and pulled up my desktop screen. Then I received the blue screen with a message that Windows was shutting down. I removed the module and re-seated it and tried again. Now it only gets to the Windows screen and then goes to the blue screen. It looked so simple - HELP!!

This laptop currently has a Mobile DualCore Intel Core i3-3130M, 2566 MHz processor and I am looking to upgrade it to the Intel Core i7-4702MQ 2.20 GHz processor (Spares# 723522-001). It is listed in the service manual however I am unsure as to if the System Board will support it. The System Board is the original as is the processor and what makes me unsure is that the current processor (i3) is a FCPGA988 socket and the new one (i7) is a FCPGA946. Does anybody know where I can find more information on this? Also, if it requires a MB upgrade, does anybody know which ones will work in this chassis?Any help is appreciated! Thanks! ~DT

Just wanted to see what kind of performance I can expect with this machine as far as multi-tasking goes. Ideally, I want to be able to burn blu-ray disks, download videos, and watch youtube vids all at the same time. Am I asking too much, or are my expectations too unrealistic? Also, I am new to Windows 7, and I am coming from XP Pro. Do you guys/gals have any helpful tips for navigating 7, or what can you tell me about some of the cooler features that 7 has over XP.

Here are some key specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Intel Core i7 740QM
NVIDIA GT330M
1920 x 1080 16.4" screen
500GB 7200rpm HD

I've had my Toshiba Sat 1900 laptop for about 1 ½ years now and I'm starting to get a few problems with it. I find that the computer is running slow, the monitor is acting weird when I scroll up and down I'm getting a wigly/wavy look from the screen (pixel problem?) and it just doesn't work as good as it did.

I've been told laptops don't last as long as a desktop pc. Is this true?

What should I do about my laptop with these problems? thanks.

**Long post**

Hi, have a bit of a problem and would appreciate some (or alot) of help.

I have an HP Pavilion dv4000 series, DV4388EA to be exact, where my CPU seems to be seriously overheating, while playing games that don't really require that much processor speed.

Now i noticed that my current cpu-fan works quite at a slow RPM rate, and i'd like to speed it up, as this, i think, would definitely solve the overheating problem. The problem is that i tried various software programs like FanSpeed, NHC and the like, and NONE of them can detect my fans, because both tell me that my ACPI is not configured. They can detect the temperatures and stuff like that, but can't access or detect fans.

My idle CPU temperature is anywhere from 56-59C, and when playing games it rises rapidly up to 75-82C, where my FSB automatically drops by half, thus slowing down performance and drastically reduces playability of the game. Or sometimes the computer just plainly reboots....

Now, the ONLY reason i can think of why my ACPI is not configured is because i changed the default BIOS that came with the system, with the new and supposedly supported PhoenixBIOS version. Now, when i go and check BIOS, there is absolutely NOTHING i can change. The only interactable things in bios are checking temperature, doing quick scans of my HDD and turning bluetooth/USB on/off... that's it.

So should i restore my previous (if rather old, year 2005) bios and see if that helps, ... Read more

I would be most grateful if someone would take a moment to advice me on the following:
i have an hp Pavilion 8284 with 17'' wide. All works fine when resolution is 1440*900.My problem is when i try to play a game and change resolution to reduce requirements(set lower than 1440*900) cursor movement pauses for a split second every 1-2 seconds - creating a lag or choppy movement . This problem is for all games. I have downloaded the latest drivers from hp 84.54 but nothing. I have tried old drivers, newest drivers but the same. I really need your help, thanx in advance.

The only error in device manager is the unknown device under USB. See enclosed picture please.

I have a an Acer Aspire 5102WLMi notebook that the screen just went completely white on and then upon restarting it nothing was displayed, but the computer at least seems to turn on. I've tried plugging it into an LCD monitor but there still isn't anything displayed. I should note the laptop isn't mine. This is how I received it and what I was told. Is it possible for the on-board video to go bad? Or any ideas of things I could try to pin-point the problem?

Thanks

A:Acer Aspire 5100 Series Notebook --No Display

If you have tried an external monitor (which you said you have) and nothing displayed on boot whilst plugged into the external monitor, I would say that the built-in video is bad. I would advise your friend/client/relative to purchase a new laptop or see if you can find a cheap, used mobo on Ebay to replace it because the video cannot easily be replaced (soldered onto motherboard).

I just finished chatting with tech support from HP. I was told that it is impossible to make the 9500 series dual boot because it has SATA drives and the "disable SATA" option is not available in the BIOS therefore XP will not recognize the hard drive (because XP has no SATA drivers? he said). He flatly refused to say anything about Linux, HP doesn't support it.
Anybody heard of this?
I want to buy the DV9580 model tomorrow.

Alex

Irven: Please be careful before buying 9500.
Alex: Since the machine is mine I do with it as I please, what you are saying is that even though I fully own the laptop (once I buy it) I am still tied to the agreement between Microsoft and HP? I can't install any operating system I please, Linux, XP or whatever I choose?
Irven: Yes, Alex you are absolutely correct, but down grading the operating system is creatingf lots of problem inthe machine. That's the reason this steps has been taken place. For your notebook's safty.
Alex: what if the hard drive fails?
Irven: You could repalce it,that's not the issue.
Alex: are you allowed to disclose the workaround that restriction? surely you will not want to buy a car if you are told by the manufacturer what brand of gasoline you must use, would you?
Irven: I d understand that, Alex. Might be you are comfortable with XP.

A:No dual boot on HP Pavilion DV9500 series

ToshibustM60,

I have the DV9200t and I am booting into Vista x64, Ubuntu Linux, and XP. The problem is similar to yours, and that is if I boot into XP I have to disable the SATA capability in the BIOS and that is a pain each time. I can leave it off all the time but then the drives are not running at full capacity.

I have the latest chipset loaded on. I loaded them after the install. To install I disabled SATA. I am curious if anyone used F6 during Windows install to load the drivers then had luck with SATA enabled?

It is sad HP is taking this course of limiting the OS. Us power users are sought out by friends, peers, management on our opinions. Just think the next time someone ask for our advice on what laptop to go with. I hope HP gets a clue. I have been happy with the laptop other than the multiboot/bios problem.

I seem to have a problem with the card reader in my HP dv2188ea laptop.

When i put my sony memory stick into the reader it is shown under windows explorer, and assigned drive letter F - however, if i try to open it it says "please insert disk in drive F".

I have used this card in my laptop before, and all worked just as you would expect then. Although that was a good few months ago.

I did wonder if it was a write protect tab on the card, but doesn't seem to be - that seems to be in the correct position, in fact it doesn't matter what position it is in.

Laptop is running XP MCE Sp2, and is fairly well up to date with windows update (maybe 2 weeks out ish).

HP have suggested reflashing the bios drivers and installing the Card reader drivers, which seemed like a good idea, however didn't make any difference.

Haven't been able to check card in another machine yet (or another card in my laptop for that matter). ALthough the card does work just as you'd expect in my camera.

A:Card Reader - HP Pavilion DV2100 series

I've now tried another Sony Memory stick in the my laptop, and it has exactly the same fault, so looking more and more likely like it is something related to my machine rather than a dodgy card.

I bought this pc a week ago but only noticed a couple of days ago that when the machine goes into sleep mode I cant wake it up properly. I thought that it was my wireless mouse at first so changed to the included non-usb one to see what would happen. Ok here is what is going on. The PC is a HP with a Intel® Core™2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz CPU:0, has Japanese Vista Home Premium installed, 4gb ram, NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS etc. When the PC goes into sleep mode and I try to wake it up, I get the display up just fine, but the mouse indicator is frozen. Sometimes I get that dreaded BSOD and when I try to boot up again it wont. I then have to go back into safe mode (F8) and choose the second alternative which I think reads something like this in English [abondon restore and reboot]. Having gone through that the pc boots up fine. Can somebody please suggest what the problem might be and how to solve it please. I have searched the web somewhat and have seen a post somewhere here that suggested that it may be connected to the graphics card. I have tested the graphics card out and there seems to be no problem there, and the drivers are the very latest.

Thank you in advance.

A:New Hp Pavilion V Series Pc And Sleep Mode Problem

Please post the BSOD information as it will help us to isolate the problem.Where did you get the video drivers from? I generally avoid Windows Update and HP for video drivers - preferring to get them from (in this case) http://www.nVidia.com. Have you tried to roll the drivers back? Have you tried removing the old drivers completely, rebooting, and then installing the newly downloaded nVidia drivers? Is this 32 bit or 64 bit Vista? 32 bit Vista doesn't recognize all 4 gB of RAM (I've got it on 2 systems at home). Although I haven't noticed any significant problems with it, I'm starting to wonder if there's any drawbacks to using too much RAM on these systems.

Hey there, I've been currently looking into upgrading my graphics card from my Radeon Sapphire HD 6700 (1gb GDDR5) model, to a MSI GTX 970 (4gb GDDR5) model. My question is whether the card will actually fit into the case. Mainly, whether I'll be able to install it.With my current card, I have to slot it in at a diagnal before I'm able to actually fit it, past the HDD Mounting bracket, into the PCI-E slot. It fits at least though. The dimensions are as follows... Radeon: 19.7 x 17.7 x 4.2 cm GTX: 26.9 x 14.1 x 3.5 cm  My computer model is: HP Pavilion p6 Series - p6-2480ea ----------------------------- I'm aware of the PSU restirctions. I have already upgraded to a 750w power supply. But my main concern is whether I'd be able to fit it past that HDD bracket (which goes the full height of the pc). I've also taken note of the PCI - 2.0 restriction of my board, but that's not a massive issue for me at this moment.  ----------------------------- This morning has consisted of scouring the internet for this question with minimal success, so I thought it better just to ask for a more direct result. Thanks in advance! Mr.Baker

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer. (I don’t have the disc in my current country)
2. Click “repair your computer.” (I did but it was just going back to windows error recovery page )
Info: windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt.

what should we do my friends? kindly help me. thank you, Ran.

A:NS Series Notebook Sony vaio -windows failed to start :(

You didn't say which Windows version it's running, and that's often important in order to recommend the most appropriate fix for a problem.
If you'd posted in the appropriate Windows forum that would have been better for the people trying to help you.

For Windows XP go here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545

For Windows Vista or Windows 7, boot your PC from the System Repair Disc which you should have made when your PC was working okay, then choose one of the repair options on the screen.

problem started within the last two weeks. PC just started boosting fan noise and then just blacked out. now each time i turned it on, it will give me 2 options prior loading system: 1) start-up repair - recommended, and 2) start windows normally. i've tried both but it just blacked out every time after a few seconds so i never got to the welcome screen.

i already tried these:1. replacing hard disk with one from broken PC and same problem as above. 2) corrected modem fan because it got fixed the wrong way by someone when they replaced the burned power supply. 3) re-seated the 2 ram sticks. 4) hooking hdd cable onto another slot on the motherboard.

maybe it is also important to note that pressing power button turns on the computer but the power-on light never even blinks or stay on except the hdd light which eventually goes out after a moment.

please help.

I'd like to add some more info to my post.  I was asking if I was actually booting from my external Hard Drive. The answer was no. For some reason, the computer had fixed itself temporarily, and was booting perfectly fine for about 30 minutes.  It did this twice, before completely stopping again.  I rang HP earlier, to try to ordewr a replacement HDD. I waqs informed that all I needed was a new copy of Windows 7, as I didn't have the Windows 7 disc (it was ex-display model laptop, no copy was given) and they would send a technition round to my house to install it with a CD.  I'd be charged for this ofcourse, apparetly, if I were to go to a computer shop I'd be charged 80 pounds for Win 7 and and extra 70 for installation and fixing the laptop. The man on the phone seemed very wary on telling me the price and I never actually got an estimate.  He gave me a number to call so I could get a Tech sent out, but the number didn't work.  So I rang up the computer shop I love - they are always looking out for you. I explained it to them and what HP Help had said.  My computer shop guy said that It could either be my copy of Win 7 has become corrupt and needs re-installing (but he doubts it is this as it would say 'File is missing', not 'Boot device') or my Hard Drive software has a problem and will need replacing, which it is most likely to be.  His estimates for fixing where - If only Win 7... I have found another Intel H81-series motherboard (mDTX form factor), this one from Asus, released in the last 6 months (3Q 2014).This board would be suitable for those HP Pavilion Slimline s3000 and s5000 case owners who desire to upgrade these computer cases for the latest Intel Haswell processors. The Intel i7-4790S, Thermal Design Power (TDP): 65W -- would be a very good choice; a balance of performance, thermal, and power usageASUS H81M-R/C/SI (bulk)Dimensions: 190mm x 170mmExpansion Slots:PCI Express x16 slot: 1x PCI ExpressPCI Express x1 slot: 1x PCI ExpressAsus H81M-R Manualhttp://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/H81M-R/E9548_H81M-R_Manual_web.pdfWhile this board is 13mm shorter than the 2007 AMD based mDTX form factor (203mm x 170mm), it does have 2 expansion slots. I have an HP Pavilion DV7T-7000 Series Quad Edidion laptop, and the screen cracked. I need to replace it, but no sites have the full hd 1920 x 1080 version that I need. All they have to offer is the WXGA+ version (1600 x 900). I found this:

http://www.viewonetech.com/hp-pavilion-dv7-6090sf-laptop-screen/
Would this be compatible with my model? I realize it is not for my particular model, but the connector is on the bottom left, as mine is. If anyone has any suggestions or advice it would be helpful.

Hey guys,
Very recently my computer has been crashing with the jagged lines of death. After it reboots, the screen becomes split up into multiple "instances" of one screen, very similar to if you select the "tiled" option in windows background. Example:
__________________
| Normal| Normal Image|
| Image | |
| | |
______ _________ |
|Normal | Normal Image|
|Image | |
___________________

Where the box around the outside is my monitor, and four "normal" images (i.e. the desktop, mouse cursor, etc.). No idea what is causing this, however, uninstalling then reinstalling the graphics drivers seems to temporarily fix this. If anyone has heard of a similar problem or knows what to do, please help!

A:HP Pavilion dv2500 series crash with multiple monitor instancing

this is videochip faulty(or video memory). afaik, since geforce 8400go, nvidia provides special MXMII videocards in most laptop models. so replacing seems to be simple, but in this model you can't do this. so you can replace MB or repair it

Please can someone help? My laptop has been slow, noisy and basically unusable for about a year, to the point that I have just stopped using it altogether, until today. It is slow to load, the internet is slow, I can only enter my password in safe mode and I'm up to date on virus checks and have deleted so much it's almost empty. Short of throwing this useless piece of metal out the window, I'm lost for ideas! Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.

Hey guys!

Getting so frustrated as I don't know much about computers/tech talk and I have a ton of uni work to do!
Anyway...

I use a HP Pavilion G series laptop/Pavilion G6, it starts up perfectly normal, leave it 5/10 minutes to start up and to load, once I've opened up whatever it is I am doing, e.g. Microsoft Word Doc, Google, YouTube, Facebook - not all at once - I get the Blue Screen with the stop message of:

A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent further damage to your computer.

Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, diable or remove any new installed hardware of software. Disable BIO memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

I have installed Windows 10, a clean copy of windows installation has been done with full format of c drive. So, after a successfull installation of win10 in my HP Pavilion dv6-7024tx, I ran windows updates to make sure it gets all driver for its hardware automatically, it did though and was absoultely fine expect one audio problem relating to micro (not working), I couldn't notice that time. I also installed HP support assistance for further assistance to make sure everything work just okay. Things to describe here, everything works absolutely fine without the built in Micro issue for Audio device. It is litterally not working to input audio anymore here. In my previous Win7 which was given in factory default setup, had BeatAudio driver and I saw that software and everything was Okay earlier.

I have not been able to get my USB 3 flash drives to workMy mouse works so I assume that my bluetooth is workingAnd my tiny fix me stick usb drive works so I assume it would be a USB 2 drive.I have installed all HP updates including the recent UEFI where I dont see the option to boot from a USB flash drive well anyways it does not do it anyways, not is the drive recognized.I have checked every USB driver for updated drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, checked HP, Windows update and the original manufacturer for updated driversI have checked the power on the hub as recommended on one HP article and did get a devmgr.xml missing error out of thatI ran sfc scannow assume the slash is in there my keyboard has went french on meBy the way my friend as the identical model of computer and all the same identical problems and missing files are happening on her computerThe only difference is that I am in the insiders program and her computer is on the regular Windows 10 build which we have not had problems with till this and I am beginning to wonder whether it has to do with the UEFI recent updates (question mark)

A:Re: hp pavilion 15 notebook Usb 3

Hi, It is great to upgrade system to Windows 10, but in the same time, series of issues occur, like the USB device issue. After upgrading the system to Windows 10, you find that your USB device cannot connect to your PC. You may need to plug your external devices like MP3, pen drive, printer, etc. to your computer through the USB ports. So it is very inconvenient that the USB ports don?t work properly. Solutions below may help you fix the USB port issue. Since your USB device works properly before you upgrade the system, the problem most probably is not caused by the USB device. But you can also plug the USB device to another computer. If it unfortunately doesn?t work, you can consider replacing the device. Following are the solutions to figure out the problem. Solution 1: Check if the problem is caused by power supply issue 1. Unplug the power supply and charger plug from your PC.2. Restart your PC. Connect your USB device to the PC again. Then you can plug the power supply.Solution 2:The Power Management would also be the cause of the USB problems. Windows is set to shut down your USB controller to save power by default, sometimes it won?t be able to power it back up. So try following steps to prevent Windows from ?managing? power to your USB controller or the devices.1. Open Device Manager.2. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers branch.3. Double-click the USB Root Hub device, and click the Power Management tab. (if there?... Read more

My stepson has an HP Pavilion dv1000 notebook. The power supply gets extremely hot and seems to be melting the tip to the plug where it connects to the notebook. Does this seem to be a problem with the notebook or only with the power supply. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

A:HP Pavilion notebook

wow that is pretty hot... does it always run that hot, or does it only run that hot when he's gaming, or watching a movie? could just be a demanding laptop, but then again you could take it to a PC specialist (comp usa or local computer shop) and get the powersupply checked out. dang if it's melting the tip thats pretty hot... My dad's apple powerbook gets up to 75 degrees celcius when he's just surfing the web and stuff, so hot you have to take it off your legs if you don't want to burn yourself. so get it checked out, might just be a demanding laptop.
