I seem to be stuck on Windows Insider build 14342 (Version 1511 OS Build 14342.1002). Since this build was installed, I haven't gotten any other insider builds.
Any ideas on how to fix this? I want to avoid having to reinstall if possible.
Is there a way to manually install build 14352, the one that followed the one I'm stuck on?

A:Not on Insider Build but error message: Your Insider Build Needs Attn

Hello Pkshadow Welcome to the Ten Forums!

The prompting you are seeing is most likely to get you to notice and install updates that have been accumulating. Otherwise that is a strange one. You might have to sign into an MS account if you already had one setup in order to see that account's information updated on the change from Insider to Anniversary. That would then see everything synced properly.

The only update I've seen mentioned is to Build 14926 and may not yet be available to everyone in the Insider program, just as 14915 took awhile to get to those running 14905. Just requires a bit of patience.

I have been successfully updating as a Insider Win 10 since Oct 2014 with no problems. I recently did a clean install of build 11102 and it seems ok. A few slow downs and hangs but generally ok.
Recently I received notification from MS that build 14257 was available for download. I downloaded the file as always and it went through the usual prep and getting ready etc. When it rebooted to start the install I get a screen asking me to "Choose your Keyboard L/O" I choose United States and then it reverts back to "Choose an Option" I choose "continue & Exit to Win 10" and it boots back into my build 11102. I've tried this three or four times with the same result.
I have downloaded and run the MS Fit-It for upgrades to no avail. I have tried using a Local account, still does the same thing. I created an ISO TechNet and it does the same thing when trying to do a clean install.
Any ideas??
I have run DISM and SFC /scannow

A:My Insider build 11102 won't update to 14257

You can create an iso to manually clean install by extracting install.esd and converting to an iso using esd-iso tool in tutorials section.

A:Windows 10 insider build update stuck on 80%

The Insider Previews aren't stable releases they are test builds... you shouldn't use them on a primary machine. If you need to recover files follow this guide:
http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/data-recovery-using-fedora/
You can download Windows 10 and clean install:
http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-windows-10-oem-and-retail-iso/
If you want to remain on the Insider Preview. Use the Insider Preview .iso:

I'm not sure if there is a fix for this or not. It may take a Microsoft fix to get it sorted.

I received the new build 14342.rs1_release.160506.1708 and immediately my Google Chrome crashed within about 20/30 seconds of loading. Although it was a little later I also noticed that Skype fails to load. It also crashes within 20 or seconds of loading. There may be others but I haven't noticed them yet.

I uninstalled Chrome and reinstalled it again but all was exactly the same. I downloaded Comodo Dragon and three other Chromium based browsers and all crash in exactly the same way; they appear to load perfectly and then stop working and need to be closed.

I have tried running them in 'compatibility' mode and with administrator privileges but nothing changes.

I ran SFC /ScanNow and it show up errors that it is unable to fix. I ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and although it appeared to work perefctly running SFC again shows that errors are still present and of course the main problem still remains.

I am just hoping against hope that someone has come up against this problem and solved it.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
Dave

Assuming you updated to 14295 through Windows Update ?
If yes, try to reinstall using the newly released 14295 ISO file.....

Download the iso file that corresponds to your Win 10 Insider Preview version ( i.e. language and bit-version )> save it to a folder.
Right click at the iso file > click Mount > click Setup.exe.
Installation will begin.
No product key is required.
Activation will be automatic.

Hopefully, reinstall will fix the problems.

First of all, let me say that I have no inside info on this topic.

Now that Microsoft seems to be on a fast release cycle for Insider builds, I would expect that we should see a new build soon. Maybe this week?!

I base this hope on the fact that build 11102 was released on 1/22/16. Four days later build 14251 was released on 1/27/16, The most recent build, 14257, was released on 2/3/16. Based on this timetable, it's possible that another build may be released to the fast ring this week.

A:When will the next Insider Build be released?

Hello there sassafras Welcome to the Ten Forums!

On that question you seem to have already answered the question on another thread Post #30 I believe. Microsoft lays more foundations for Redstone Windows 10 Build 14257 - Page 4 - Windows 10 Forums

Those actively involved in the Windows Insider Preview program will now be seeing an app available for a fast preview option for an advanced first look at the next build that would follow the present one available. Other then that the Blog.Windows 10 page would be what to watch to catch the next build's announcement which also ends up being quoted in the news section here at Ten Forums by the way!

There's ISO for newest one (10565) here: Download Windows 10 Build 10565 ISO - Microsoft News but as those are insider builds and if you have standard 10240 you can put it in slow ring and defer updates until you want to.

Dell Venue 7140, Core-M, 4GB, 128GB

I'm having major problems with any of the RS2 Insider builds. I've been an Insider since pre-RTM and never had this type of issue. After installing the build I end up with an endless "Critical_Process_Died" blue-screen loop. Sometimes this will happen immediately after the install, other times after updating a driver. I've tried all of the usual tricks (system restore, sfc, dism, safe-mode, etc with no luck. What's interesting is that the boot process is actually working; it's something that happens right at the end of the boot that's causing the fault.

I've been down this road several times and have never been able to recover. Always re-installed the public release. Does anyone know what could be causing this or how to fix it? Yes, I know I could stop installing the Insider builds but feel like this is fixable.

Hi everyone, I?m excited to share the news that we?re rolling out our next build update to the ?Fast? ring of the Windows Insider Program ? Build 9879! Once again this build has a ton of changes, some noteworthy new features, and a few gotchas to be aware of. It also has a number of things that YOU have influenced directly with your problem reports and suggestions. Thanks!

Getting started:

If you are new to the Windows Insider Program you may want to check out my post here from last month since this post is using some terms and concepts I first shared there. (e.g. our ?ring progression? model.)
Just like last time, this new build will come to you automatically via Windows Update, installed during your maintenance window if your PC is plugged in and on or sleeping.
If you don?t want to wait for it to download and install on its own ? you can go to PC Settings, Update and recovery, Preview builds and click the Check Now button to go get it now.
If you?re currently in the Fast ring, the build is available now. If you?re in the Slow ring, you won?t receive the build right away ? we?ll publish to Slow after we see how everything goes with the Fast ring.
This is a full build, and it will be installed as an in-place upgrade, so you?ll go through those colorful ?installing your apps? screens again. This is because your account is being re-provisioned after the upgrade.

Use disc cleanup on your drive, using the advanced options, remove previous windows installations and temp files, reboot and wait about 30 min to an hour, should show up then, and ensure you are still on fast ring after reboot.

Thanks! is your phone the 1GB version? If yes, then the latest version via insider app is 14393.5
If your phone is the 512MB RAM version, then it is 10586.494 - you won't get any more updates after this

Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14352 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

What?s new in Build 14352

Cortana Improvements

Cortana, Your Personal DJ: In addition to playing songs via your local files and OneDrive, you also now have the ability to play any song from the entire Groove Music Catalog using Cortana. If you have a Groove Music Pass, just ask Cortana to play your favorite artist, genre, playlist or song. This also works with Cortana on your Lock screen.

Windows Ink

Updated Sticky Notes: With the latest update, Sticky Notes are now better than ever* with the ability to create Cortana reminders from your notes that will flow with you across your Cortana enabled devices.

Compass on the ruler: We?ve updated the Windows Ink ruler to include a compass. If the ruler is oriented in the direction of any of the cardinal points or midpoints, the compass indicator will become bold.

Other items of note

Windows Game bar improved with full-screen support: One of the most common requests we see for the Windows 10 Game DVR feature is the ability to use the Windows Game bar with more games running in full-screen.

Updated File Explorer icon: Based on Insider feedback, we have updated the File Explorer icon with more color.

Deploying Windows Enterprise edition gets easier: Prior to Windows 10, the upgrade from the Pro to Enterprise edition required a complete wipe and reinstallation of the OS. In Windows 10, we enabled bit-less edition upgrade fr... Read more

I'm a Insider member since Oct 2014, get all the builds till the official launch of Windows 10 last July.

A few days before the official launch my Windows 10 TP (build 10240) had a boot problem and gave me a UEFI boot error, since the Insider Program was locked and I can't get any Insider Preview build to work I had format my PC and install my Windows 8 Pro and follow the upgrade path to Windows 10. (Reserve a copy, wait for the update and install the Windows 10 (Pro) and activate with my valid Windows 8 Key, no hassles there.

After success upgrade I went to Security and Updates > Windows Update > Advanced Options and hit the Get Insider builds > Get Started button, restart my PC and check if Fast Ring was selected and it was. Last month it came out Build 10525 and later on Build 10532 and I didn't receive any of those.

I tried to force the download by hitting constantly the Check update button on Windows Update, but the only thing my Windows Update download is Windows Defender definitions. So, I tried the following: in Advanced Option, I hit the Stop receive preview builds, restart PC and go there again I hit the button Get Preview Builds, restart again and wait a few days... no luck.

Since I don't had any luck there I post some questions in Microsoft Answers and report the problem, a few days later receive some answers, but none of the those answers worked out and one of them seems to me a bit stupid, so the suggestions was:
1 - Uninstall any anti-virus. (d... Read more

Hey guys. Before Windows 10 was released, I joined the Insider Program and upgraded to the Windows 10 Insider beta, or whatever they called it. That was around May. I had just built a new PC with an activated version of Windows 7, and I thought I should just go ahead and upgrade to the beta before I got too invested so I wouldn't risk screwing everything up after I had everything installed.

So now in December, I'm getting sick of all of these major updates, and I'd like to just opt out of the Insider program and use the normal release version. But it won't let me permanently leave. I go to the Advanced Options in Windows Update settings, and choose "Stop Insider Preview builds," and it gives me choices of times to turn it back on. When I click the link that says "Stop receiving Insider Preview builds" to permanently stop, it just takes me to some web page explaining how to do what I just did, and it won't let me opt out.

Just to clarify, I'm now on build 11082, and I did upgrade this from an activated install of Windows 7. It's not like I did a clean install from an ISO and I'm after a free key or anything. I'm really hoping I don't have to reinstall Win7 and upgrade to the normal version.

A:Can't leave Insider Program Build 11082

You're going to have to re-install a release build, such as the November update. Since you've already successfully upgraded, you can reinstall clean and it will automatically activate, just skip any requests for entering a key.

Hi there

After upgrading to latest insider build I'm tearing my hair out with Network connectivity AGAIN.

Have Logitech media server running on NAS. Squeezeboxes (Linux OS) connect and work fine, as do W7 and XP.

Windows 10 shows the server but cannot connect. However if I activate the player (client end software Squeezeplay) it will only connect if I actually enter the IP address of the server. Before I would just start the client and it would find the server (and if more than one would present a list of which to connect to) and present me with the client interface to select music stream to play. Been working 100% ever since XP days -- W10 really has got some sort of networking royally hosed up.

(I've been looking for a replacement for the squeezebox system - Sonos sounds not so good and expensive, squeezebox system - great Optical / digital out, and does FLAC too -- why Logitech stopped it I don't know so perhaps I'll keep the hardware until it finally dies)

Cheers
jimbo

Hi everyone,
It has been amazing to see the impact that Windows Insiders have made since we launched the program last year. Your feedback has helped us fix bugs and make changes which resulted in a better product because of your input. Thank you to all of the Windows Insiders who have been with us so far. Now I?d like to talk a bit about what is next.

With the general availability of Windows 10, the Windows Insider Program will focus on building and delivering Windows as a service by updating Windows 10 with new features and functionality on an ongoing basis. As always, Windows Insiders will be the first to see these new features and changes.

Feedback from Windows Insiders not only helps us build Windows 10 ? it also helps us shape how we run the program. For example, Windows Insiders have asked us to improve the flighting cadence and to keep the Windows Feedback app in the product ? which we have done. We?re also evaluating the Windows Insider rings, and considering whether we should make changes there. Over the past few months we?ve been looking at feedback to see what changes we want to make going forward. We?re putting plans together now, so you won?t see any changes immediately, but they will come over time. We?ll be doing our best to make sure that we improve every aspect of the program, from build distribution to the Feedback app and Insider Hub. And of course we?ll be looking to do more fun things for Windows Insider... Read more

A:Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10122 Discussion

Ah we've all been waiting for another build and well its here! And yes I'm going to review this here and now so let's review it.

It's OK looks great and polished I don't mind it at all since Microsoft is finishing bits and pieces off it's shiny new OS. The start menu looks great, and the theme looks great! Microsoft also has stabilized the OS a lot since 10074 as it even fixed the annoying issue with the Nvidia Drivers. Actually a lot of you would recommend this as a stable Build or not any other way it's great.

 List of fixed issues:
1. Visual Glitch (Rectangle Silvers)

2. Fixed lots of glitches with Microsoft

3. Developers – when you go to Settings > Update & Security > For developers – it no longer crashes the Settings app.

4. We fixed the issue some people were seeing where their graphics driver fails to install from Windows Update with error code 80070103. This was happening because WU was trying to re-issue the driver.

5.You should now be able to edit the IPv4 properties of an Ethernet adapter on your PC.

6.We have fixed issues where fonts would render blurry on High DPI displays. We’re cooking up a blog post we plan to publish shortly that talks a little more in depth about our investment with High DPI in Windows 10 so watch for it.

7.We have fixed some keyboard shortcuts in Microsoft Edge. Control + L or Alt + D shortcuts now got to the URL bar more reliably.

Hi everyone,

Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10586 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. This build is really focused on bug fixes and general improvements. We?ve been loving this build in our internal rings as it is very fast and smooth, and makes a great daily driver.

Here are some things we have fixed:

The issue where any audio playing (like music from Groove, or videos from the Movies & TV app) gets reduced by 75% for a period of time after a notification pops up from Action Center is fixed.
Pressing the power button on your Surface Pro 3 should put your Surface Pro 3 to sleep instead of shutting it down.
We fixed an issue reported by Windows Insiders where a disksnapshot.exe command prompt window would flash randomly.
Windows should now remember your previous login type. For example, if you log in with a PIN ? it will prompt you for a PIN next time instead of another type.
We fixed an issue where Tab previews in Microsoft Edge were appearing as black if the page was not scrolled to the top, and web note clippings were also appearing as black.
Small form-factor devices, like the Dell Venue 8 Pro, that boot with rotation or virtual mode screen size set larger than the physical screen size should no longer experience a bluescreen on upgrade.
Apps and games should download from the Store more reliably.

Today, we are releasing Build 14267 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

Just to quickly recap the changes we?ve made to rings for Insiders in 2016:
We introduced the new Release Preview ring last week which is for Windows Insiders who want to stay on the Current Branch (currently builds based off of Build 10586), but continue to receive early access to updates, application updates, and driver updates. This is a great option for people who want to get updates early but not go all the way to installing full preview builds. Because the Release Preview ring offers updates to the Current Branch, it is only visible to devices on the Current Branch (Build 10586). If you are on a newer build, flights to the Release Preview ring won?t be applicable to that device. The easiest way to go between the Development Branch to the Current Branch is to use the Media Creation Tool to reinstall Windows 10.
We?ve adjusted the criteria we use to release new builds to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring to get builds out more quickly ? this means these builds may include more bugs and other issues that could be slightly more painful to live with. So if you?d like to change your ring to stick to more stable builds you can go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Advanced options and under ?Get Insider Preview builds? moving the slider to the Slow ring.

We have another Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10586 which we?re releasing today to Windows Insiders in the Fast and Slow ring.

This build continues to address feedback we?ve received from Windows Insiders as well as customers using our brand new Windows 10 phones like the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. As with the previous release, this Cumulative Update continues to use the minor version for differentiating between each version ? so this build will appear as 10586.36.

I have Insider Preview 10525 installed on a dual boot system with openSUSE. Windows 10 is activated. However even though I'm on the Fast Ring I haven't gotten any updates or new build for quite awhile. I use WSUS to get security updates.

I downloaded Windows TH2 Build 10568 from the "official" Windows 10 News site (Microsoft - but uses MEGA servers) which posted today.

Windows 10 boots fine but says to install Windows from my installed copy - fair enough.

When I run setup.exe from the DVD I get the helpful message "Something happened" - real informative. After trying several times I get to the license page and skip the updates (this caused the helpful message above. I skipped the product key entry since Windows 10 was installed and activated. Then I get the refallyh bizarre error that the installer cannot determine if I am running Windows 10!

I have almost 97 programs installed and working great so I'm not going to do a clean install. I probably can't return to build 10240 if I use the recovery mode but I'm almost ready to try to revert - if I can - since I have an image created by the AOEMI Backupper program which has restored system backups many times when I or Windows screws up.

Does anybody have any idea how I'll be able to install build 10586 - since apparently the normal Windows 10 update in Settings is not going to work.

Hi everyone, we have a new build for PCs we?re releasing today to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring ? Build 10166. Just like the 3 builds we released last week, this build is all about bug fixing and fit-and-finish. Be sure to keep using the Windows Feedback app to send us feedback on any problems you?re hitting to help us make sure Windows 10 is awesome when we release it on July 29th!

We also have something for you to try out if you live in the Seattle area. With Windows 10, we are giving people the ability to purchase paid Wi-Fi through the Windows Store via the Microsoft Wi-Fi app. You will know when you can purchase Wi-Fi when you see ?Buy Wi-Fi from Windows Store? in your list of networks when clicking on the network icon on the lower right in the Taskbar. The Microsoft Wi-Fi app provides the choice to pay with a Credit or Debit Card, a Microsoft Gift Card, or PayPal and it helps keep your information secure since it uses the Windows Store payment system. Completing the purchase is simple as there is no need to enter additional personal or payment information if you?ve already registered in Windows Store. Right now, we?re testing this experience out in Seattle but it?ll soon open up to the rest of the U.S.

For those of you out there who are among the 7 million Windows Insiders and are participating in the fast ring, Microsoft is treating you with a new desktop build, Windows 10 build 10565. If you haven't got the chance to install it or don't want to install the new build just yet, there's a gallery attached below.

This build comes almost a week after the recent Windows 10 devices event, and it has quite a few new things including: Tab previews in Microsoft Edge, a more intelligent Cortana, improved context menus based on user feedback and cosmetic refinements to Windows Explorer. The new build brings quite a few bug fixes, but there are still some known issues that you should be aware of, especially if you're a gamer that uses the Xbox app.

Windows 10 build 10565 also comes with Skype Messaging and Skype Video Preview app integration that was recently spotted in a leaked build. There's also a slight change in the Windows Update settings, where the scroll box for setting to Fast or Slow ring has been replaced by a long slider that might indicate that there will be additional Insider rings in the future.

Hi everyone,

We?re rolling out Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10549 right now to Windows Insiders on the Fast ring. However, this build comes with a caveat. We discovered a bug late last night that caused phones upgrading from Build 10536 to get stuck at a black screen after this new build is installed. Rather than making you wait a little bit longer for us to fix this bug ? we decided to release this build as a single update from Windows Phone 8.1. Current Insiders that would like to try out Build 10549 should:
Go back to Windows 8.1 first using the Windows Device Recovery Tool.
Once you?re on Windows Phone 8.1, install the Windows Insider app, choose the Fast ring, and reboot your phone.
After that ? this build should download and install on your phone.

Preview Test Build 11082 Expires 7/15/2016. Will there be an Insider Build before that which doesn't expire? Naturally this is an important concern. I am testing heavily right now. Should I report my results/concerns here or elsewhere?

TIA

A:Windows Insider Build 11082 .1000 Expires 7/15/2016

A new build will come out let's say every month or two, but it's nothing to be concerned about.

The latest Windows 10 Insider Preview, build 14367, is now making its way to PCs and phones on the Fast ring. PC users have a couple of new features to look forward to when installing it, and those wishing to perform a clean installation of the OS can now do so more easily, with a "new tool to give your PC a fresh start".

But of course, a new build doesn't just mean new features; as ever, it also means that there are lots of fixes to look forward to, and known issues to be aware of.

What's been fixed and improved in build 14367 for PCs

Cross-device notifications from your phone to your PC via Cortana are now more reliable and faster. You can also use quick replies from your PC for notifications that support that feature (there is a known issue in which this will only work if your phone?s screen is turned on ? we?ll be fixing this!). Additionally, notifications from your phone to your PC will appear under its own Windows Phone group in Action Center ? with a fancy new logo to boot!
We fixed an issue where the emoji in cross-device notifications would appear as boxes. We also fixed an issue where certain emoji would appear as square boxes in some apps like Notepad.
Fixed an issue resulting in the dialog when joining the PC to an Azure AD potentially being unexpectedly large on certain devices
Quick Actions in Action Center that turn on and off different functionality in your device, like Bluetooth on your phone or Tablet Mode on your PC, now have ... Read more

Fully one month after its previous release, Microsoft has finally provided a refreshed new build of Windows 10 Mobile to Windows Insiders on the Fast ring. But build 10549 offers yet another complexity for testers to wrestle with: With this build, you have to upgrade from Windows Phone 8.1. That means wiping out any phones that are already using previous Insider Preview builds.

Yep. That?s the sound you hear. wa-waa-waaahhhh.

Why this draconian step? According to Microsoft, which it discovered a bug late last night?yep, last night?that caused phones upgrading from build 10536 to get stuck at a black screen after the new build is installed. So rather than make you wait even longer, Microsoft decided to release this build as a single update from Windows Phone 8.1 only.

The good news: If you decide to stick with build 10536, you can just wait a bit?hey, what?s a month between friends??and upgrade to the next Fast Ring build instead.

?We know having to go back to Windows Phone 8.1 to get this new build is a bit of work,? Microsoft explains. ?By doing so you are also helping us test the upgrade path that millions of Windows Phone 8.1 customers will take to upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile, so we appreciate the adventurous Insiders who choose to go this route and give us feedback.?

LOL. Whatever.

Here?s what?s new in this build:

Cortana improvements. Cortana now works for users in Japan and for English speakers in Australia and Canada. You can find out more here.

Last week, Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14955 for PCs and phones in the Fast ring. Some users reported issues with installing the Mobile build, but Microsoft later published a workaround for those problems.

Recent builds from the Development Branch, like 14955, have been referred to by the codename 'Redstone 2' - but last week, Microsoft announced that RS2 builds will eventually roll out to all users as the Windows 10 Creators Update. In addition to revealing a range of features - including improvements to the communications experience, and new additions for gamers - Microsoft also said that it would release a new Creators Update build by the end of the week... but it never materialized.

But today, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14959 to the Fast ring, although it's a bit light on new features.

The new Mobile build is the first to be published through Microsoft's new 'Unified Update Platform' (UUP), which promises significant improvements to the update process. Microsoft says that it will eventually "enable differential downloads for all devices built on the Mobile and PC OS", delivering "only the changes that have been made since the last time you updated your device, rather than a full build". You can find out more about the UUP here.

For PCs, just one new feature is listed:

Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 11099 arrives on the Fast ring

"It?s been a while since we?ve had any new Windows 10 preview builds, thanks to the holiday season, but Microsoft has at last pushed out a new build to the Fast ring. The software giant plans to make the Fast ring live up to its name this year with an accelerated release schedule.

In the future Microsoft?s criteria for releasing builds to the Fast ring will be much closer to its criteria for releasing them to its internal rings, which means new builds are likely to be buggier and suffer other issues. Build 11099, which is available for Insiders to download now, should be relatively stable however, as Microsoft has had a while to iron out any big problems.
The new build doesn?t contain any exciting new features. In fact it mostly makes structural improvements to OneCore, the core that Windows 10 shares across devices. This will, however, pave the way to greater changes down the line.

Explaining the improvements, Microsoft?s Gabe Aul says:

The code refactoring and other engineering work we?ve been doing to optimize OneCore is nearing the point where we will be ready for teams to begin checking in new features and improvements. It will still be a few builds before any really noticeable changes show up, depending on when teams begin lighting up new features in their areas. We?re excited for Insiders to use this build to validate the work we?ve been doing to OneCore, so give this build a try... Read more

Hello!

I have been a Windows 10 Insider since the beginning. My main "test" machine for the builds is on my Mac but in Parallels Desktop. I'm considering moving to Boot Camp instead and just use Parallels to boot from the Boot Camp partition if I need OSX and Windows 10 side by side for specific tasks.

My question is this: Will I still be considered an Insider (or rather, still activated) if I install a fresh new insider build on Boot Camp and just sign in to my MS account? I'm planning to use the ESD file that updated my build to 10240. Once that is done, I'll just delete my current VM. Just to be clear, I am not trying to migrate the Win10 VM itself to a Boot Camp partition. Since that in itself is quite a hassle to do and considering a boatload of hurdles to overcome.

Oh and please tell me if I posted this question on the correct category thread and move it accordingly if needed.

Thanks! ^_^

Microsoft released its latest Windows 10 Insider Preview, build 14915, for PCs and phones in the Fast ring today. The new Redstone 2 preview follows the release of build 14905 a couple of weeks ago.

Following its release of the Anniversary Update - formerly referred to as Redstone 1 - earlier this month, Microsoft said that early Redstone 2 development would focus on structural improvements to the OS. But while its latest build is light on new features, there are plenty of fixes and issues to be aware of.

Let's take a look at the improvements and fixes for PCs in build 14915:

We fixed the issue with being unable to use the power button on the Start menu.
We fixed the issue causing Cortana?s text to speech capabilities to not work. Cortana should be able to read text messages out loud for you, tell jokes, sing, or give verbal prompts as expected.
We fixed the issue causing the Settings app to crash on certain editions of Windows 10 when navigating to different settings pages due to a missing .dll file.
We made a number of improvements to translations, including fixing an issue in Windows Update where it would say ?your phone is up to date? in French when confirming that your PC was up to date.
Changing functionality via Settings > Update & security > Windows Insider Program such as your ring settings should now work again on this build. For more information ? see this forum post.
We fixed a compatibility issue from a recent platform change that causes... Read more

After rolling out Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14366 to the Fast and Slow Rings nearly two weeks ago, Microsoft has now released ISOs for Slow Ring users. The build includes a number of fixes and improvements comprised of updates to the size of the Windows Ink Workspace icon, Mobile Hotspot settings page, and Cortana search results, among others.

As with Insider Preview build 14342, Microsoft has made the ISOs available just two weeks afterrolling out the build to Fast Ring users.

Five versions of the ISOs are available:

Windows 10 Insider Preview - Build 14366
Windows 10 Insider Preview Enterprise - Build 14366
Windows 10 Insider Preview Education - Build 14366
Windows 10 Insider Preview Home Single Language - Build 14366
Windows 10 Insider Preview Home China - Build 14366
The ISOs are available in various languages, depending on the version you choose. It is also interesting to note that ISOs for build 14342 are still available for users.

As always, Microsoft's release notes also point out that "you will need to install the Windows 10 Insider Preview build on a device that has been previously activated with Windows 10 or with a Windows 10 product key." You can find further details about that here.

For those willing to try out newer builds, Microsoft has already released build 14372 to Fast Ring Insiders on both PC and Mobile.

The KB3081424 have been rolled out today for Windows 10, and it's a Cumulative Update. It'll update a lot of files that are coming out in users' SFC and DISM scans as corrupted. Installing it could fix these files, so I suggest you to install it.Cumulative Update for Windows 10: August 5, 2015This update includes nonsecurity-related changes to enhance the functionality of Windows 10 through new features and improvements.Windows 10 updates are cumulative. Therefore, this package contains all previously-released fixes (see KB 3074683). If you have installed previous updates, only the new fixes that are contained in this package will be downloaded and installed to your computer.

Last week, Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14931 for PCs - but it also announced that it was holding off on a new Mobile build from the Redstone 2 branch as it needed more time to fix two major issues that had popped up in build 14926, which was released a week earlier.

Today, Microsoft announced the rollout of Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14936 for both PCs and phones, so those mobile issues have now been resolved.

As part of the announcement, Microsoft's Dona Sarkar shared a reminder regarding the upcoming expiration of some older Insider Preview builds:

Since September 15th, PCs running really old Insider Preview builds started to see build expiration notifications once a day. Starting on October 1st, these PCs will start rebooting every 3 hours and then on October 15th ? these PCs will stop booting all together. If your PC is running one of these old Insider Preview builds, please make sureyou update to the latest build available via Settings > Update & security > Windows Update. Build 14926 and newer has an updated expiration date of May 1st, 2017. If your PC is running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Build 14393) in the Slow and Release Preview rings today ? this does not apply to you and you will not be notified of your build expiring.

The new build is available now to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring - be sure to let us know how you get on with them.
