Blue screen error on new dell labtop

Q: Blue screen error on new dell labtop

I just got a brand new Dell labtop. But whenever I'm installing something, or loading a game, a blue screen error pops up and I have to restart. The first part of the error message is a punch of numbers on the top like 00000x or something like that, what do I do?

I have read multiple postings about folks spend hours on the phone with Dell about Blue Screens of Death and Inspiron 530. I too bought a Dell Inspiron 530 - the First machine, after installing my lexmark printer 3400 driver not only gave me blue screens but memory issues with the windows desktop not painting correctly and icons missing! So I called Dell and they told me how reset the machine back to the factory settings...but I still encountered the Blue screen of Death even after that and then going to standby/hibernation and coming back - clicking to yahoo and checking mai! Boom Blue Screen every time! I called Dell and they replaced the machine with another Dell Inspiron desktop 1 week ago. I hooked up the new one and the same exact thing has happened - I restored the settings again and have already had the dreaded blue screen Stop error code 0x40000080 even with out now installing anything related to a printer!!! all while coming back from hibernation! So what I have read here is to get around this issue is to never let the machine got to standby or Hibernation is that correct?? or do I need driver updates! why in the world I would need new drivers when this is a brand new machine!!! HELP in CT!

Thanks!

I've searched and searched and all I find is suggestions to contact Dell. My system is NOT a Dell. But, I am getting the following Blue Screen error. Sometimes I simply have to reboot and all is good, sometimes 2 or 3 times, but it seems to happen everytime I turn on my PC.
Before I reinstall Windows for the um...millionth time, are there any experts able to help solve this mystery?

A:Blue Screen Error: NOT A DELL

when we make suggestions to contact dell its because a person usually tells us it is a dell or we can tell from the computer specs given that it is.the only time in my life i have seen a blue screen similar to that is when ive changed back to windows xp from vista before i was knowledgeable enough to realize i had to go into the BIOS and change the configuration from ACHI to either SATA,ATA,IDE, or compatability.if your computer came with windows xp then you dont have to make the change in the BIOS to run windows xp properly.if it didnt come with windows xp and you are trying to change it back to windows xp thats why you are getting that blue screen.if it isnt that then someone with more knowledge on this than i have will hopefully have more advice to give you.

To any and all that may be able to help or suggest a fix for my problem.

Today, 2/25/2013 my computer started up and went almost directly to this problem....

*** STOP 0x00000024 (0x00190203,0x8A7BC268,0xC0000102,0x00000000)

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this sis the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, then restart your computer.

Needless to say the computer will not allow me to do said task no matter what state I attempt to boot up the system.

Anyone, please help or suggest if possible...
I will continue to work to fix this issue whilst waiting for any and all responses!

Sincerely, Christopher.

Boot off of the Windows Disc Or download the Recovery Console ISO. Burn it to CD with IMGBurn Boot off of the CD and get to the Recovery Console. Here type chkdsk /R and press enter. Disk Check Outside Windows (Windows XP) The Check Disk utility will try and fix any file errors.

As per Kimsland I have updated my profile with my system specs. I am attaching my minidumps and information in my event view (zipped of course). I had confirmed drivers and ran virus scan per instructions as well. I am tired of dealing with Dell (when I do finally get them) because they obviously have no clue as to the extent of their problem. I like my computer but may have to resort to return with help from American Express. Any assitance would be greatly appreciated. Dell has only had me peform a PC Restore, delete minidump files, removed and reinstalled security software and several other obviously procedures that waste time.
Thanks again for your help.

Today, I was (trying) to upload files on a Micro SD card. I went to "My Computer" and clicked the storage device. It stopped responding, so I ended the program. All the icons disappeared, so I shut down the laptop. When I booted it back up, it did the little windows thing with the logo and blue bars. It then asked me "Start Windows Normally, Last Known Settings, Safe Mode with Command Prompt, Safe Mode with Networking, and Safe Mode." I selected "Safe Mode" and it flashed a Blue Screen error and went back to the Windows logo with blue bars scrolling. I then tried selecting all the other options. It still would flash the blue screen error. I need help!

If it won't boot into Safe Mode, some of the XP core files are corrupt or there is a hardware issue. Try booting from your XP CD and perform a repair.

Hi
I decided to create a backup of my system for the first time as follows:

Xp was already installed on my pc so i didnt have a cd to retrieve the
'backup' facility, so I tried to create the 'dell OS Recovery CD' by going to
Programs>dell accessories>dell os recovery cd, this took ages and ended in an error saying something about not enough space.
Fair enough I have now read more about backing up & am getting an external drive instead.

But since then everytime I boot up my laptop I get a blue windows page saying:
"Checking file system on C:
the type of the file system is NFTS
Can't open volume for direct access
windows has finished checking the disk"

it clears after say a minute and completes start up as normal.

I have since downloaded the xp backup program from
http://home.comcaast.net/~cerelli/ntbackup.msi which caused no probs.

Before all this I downloaded registry booster, which i have now stopped it
scanning but think I will uninstall it until after i have created a backup.

I hope you are able to follow this, I am running XP home edition on an
Inspiron 1300 laptop and the only real changes i have made recently are those above

can anyone help with the blue screen error?
thanks for reading

Hello jiturajpattnaik and welcome to Seven Forums.

You'll probably get a better response if you post your question in the Crashes and Debugging section. Here's a link on the info you should provide:

http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

Due to time zone differences and how busy the BSOD experts are, it may take a while for an answer. In the meantime you culd try running a System File Checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two, this tutorial) in case any system files have become damaged or corrupt. If problems are found run the scan 3 times rebooting in between each scan.

I own a Dell Inspiron 3521 Laptop with Windows 10, bought 2 years ago. Now, it has started acting up and won't boot.
Whenever I try to boot, it goes into Automatic Repair mode and shows a BSOD with 0xc0000428 saying that the file /driver/amdkmpfd.sys file cannot be verified.
My Laptop won't boot and I can't access anything except the Startup Settings and BIOS. I have tried all options in Startup Settings but none of them work, Safe Mode does not work as well. It ran a random test of Dell ePSA and it said that everything is working fine.
I think that it's a Video Card problem. Can I just get my data back without a full restore.Do note that I bought the laptop and hence did not get a Windows CD to repair my Copy of Windows 10. Any way to repair just the driver instead of the whole OS?
Please help me quickly. Any help is appreciated.
Thanking you in advance!

SuperAntiSpyware found a trojan last week (Trojan.Dropper/Gen), but said it fixed it.

It has been fine until yesterday - except that the playback on sound and video that are on the HDD or online have been hanging up for some reason that I haven't figured out; and there's a notice popping up every day or so that the network controller has stopped working, but Windows can't fix it - - but then it always starts up again right away. I think I may need a new driver, but haven't been able to find one for it.

It has seemed a bit slower the past couple of days, but that's the only other sign of trouble before the crash. The only thing different is that I installed iTunes and Quicktime day before yesterday and then uninstalled iTunes last night. Nothing else has changed recently.

Yesterday, as music was playing, the computer hung up and began beeping loudly with the music skipping sort of like a bad CD would - - but the music was on the HDD not a CD. Then the blue screen - - and that hung up - - and I had to turn off the unit manually. It was a kernel data inpage error, whatever that means. Since then, the machine seems a bit off it&... Alright so I have a dell inspiron m5010 and it blue screened once then I shut it down and it down and would let get onto it told me to do a disk check and there whats a problem with my hard disk. So I ran a memory diagnostics test and it gave me error code 2000-0151. I rebooted again and got to recovery options and did the dell emergency backup option were it puts everything on my hard drive to a folder and restores everything to factory settings. This now allowed me to sign in and use the computer perfectly fine BUT, it suddenly gave me a windows error message saying "Windows detected a hard disk problem" it then goes on to tell me to back things up. So i move onto the backup process and it fails very single time giving me the backup error 0x80070002. So I attempt to run a disk check again but when I schedule it and reboot it keeps canceling itself. So i did a check using command prompt as an admin and it told me "windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix them". So them concludes my little problem I have no idea what to do from here the hard drive is not making any weird noises which is always good. What should I do?

P.S I don't want to have to buy a new hard drive.

A:Dell Inspiron m5010 blue screen to error code 2000-0151

The message you get could mean hard disk corruption, bad sectors, a failing hard disk, Windows files or registry corruption, viruses, or memory problems. First, backup any important data that you are able to. Use the methods described in step 3 of Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 and then do the following steps:If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

Run Disk Check with both boxes checked for all HDDs and with Automatically fix file system errors checked for all SSDs. Post back your logs for the checks after finding them using Check Disk (chkdsk) - Read Event Viewer Log (you may need to search for wininit instead of chkdsk).
For any drives that do not give the message:
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems
run disk check again as above. In other words, if it says:
Windows has made corrections to the file system
after running the disk check, run the disk check again.

Run all Basic tests with SeaTools: S.M.A.R.T. Check, Short Drive Self Test, Drive Information, Short Generic, and Long Generic. Run the tests for all HDDs.SeaTools for Windows

SeaTools for DOS
If you have an SSD, make sure the following are up to date:SSD firmware
BIOS Version
Chipset Drivers
Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.

Hi. I have recently had a virus on my pc that malwarebites found. After trying to remove it I gave up and phoned dell to get my pc reset to factory settings. After doing so I have been getting these crashes when playing hi res games such as CoD. First of all my fps drops very low. Then the game becomes VERY laggy. Then after that it crashes and I get a blue screen saying something like.

Windows has shut down to prevent damage, error detected in windows framework.

Upon rebooting I open up Event viewer and always see this message.

Hey everyone, I seem to have a recurring problem that I just can't puzzle out on my
own and need some help here.

A few months ago I had to replace my power supply unit, and at the same time decided to
upgrade my RAM and OS (moving from Windows Vista to Win 7).
Before I was running on 1 gig of DDR2 PC2-5300 667 MHz. I updated it to PNY 4 gigs
(also DDR2 PC2-5300). Computer kept restarting so I brought it down to 2 gigs - things
worked ok for a little while and then I started to have similar problems again. My PC
continually restarts itself randomly, Displays the Blue Screen after an hour or so of
operation and constantly freezes on the starting Windows 7 logo screen.
I have absolutely no clue where these issues could be coming from. All of the RAM seems
to be accurate spec wise and I don't believe the Power Supply to be at fault. Also, this is more recently, whenever I try to sync up my iPod with iTuens, my system also decides to restart itself randomly during the sync. Any help
on the issue would be GREATLY appreciated.

Below are additional PC specs:

- OS Windows 7 ultimate 32bit
- CPU, Intel Core 2 - (2) of them at 2.13 GHz
- 2 Gigs PNY RAM
- (any additional specs needed - please let me know!)

I'm out of ideas here; any suggestions would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Hi everybody,

I'm new to this forum. A moderator from Microsoft forum told me about this site.

I have a old Windows Vista that I'm trying to service myself. Just the basis operating problems.  I wanted to know if anyone had a opinion about running more that one anti-virus program. At present, I'm running Malwarebytes Ant-Malware(Free) program version 2.2.0.1024, Microsoft Security Essentials and tdsskiller application (4,618kb). Since putting in the Malwarebytes, the system runs better---finding 5 virus that it removed out of about 320,000 scanned items. I wanted to put in some other ant-virus programs, but I'm not sure if it's good for the operating system. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks to Bleeping Computer.com for this great forum.

Thanks

Welcome to BC...
No need to burden the old computer with more than one antivirus. Purchasing MBAM would be a good idea especially if
you are prone to picking malware and adware.

Post the log showing what MBAM found and deleted/ quarantined. You can find the log by clicking on
the History tab.....the scan log..not the update logs.

Use the programs below to find and remove adware and malware. Always better to use more than just one scanner.

Use CCleaner to remove Temporary files, program caches, cookies, logs, etc. Use the Default settings. No need to use the
Registry Cleaning Tool...risky. Pay close attention while installing and UNcheck offers of toolbars....especially Google.
After install, open CCleaner and run by clicking on the Run Cleaner button in the bottom right corner.
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

Download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
Close all open programs and internet browsers.
Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click on Scan button.
When the scan has finished click on Clean button.
Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.
You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.
download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead ... Read more

A:dell insprion screen has blue screen upon start

Hello, armstrong1. Welcome to TSF. This is less likely a malware issue and more likely a video driver or hardware issue.

The bugcheck was: 0x00000116

We can run a different tool to help ensure there's no malware afoot. If none is found you can have the BSOD experts at TSF review your case.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit (MBAR) from here Malwarebytes | Anti-Rootkit BETA - Free Rootkit Scanner & Remover and save it to your desktop.
http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbar

Next, exit Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) if it is running. You can do so via the notification area icon near the clock. Right click on the MBAM icon , and select Exit.

Next...Double click on the MBAR file you downloaded.
Approve the UAC prompt in Vista and newer operating systems.
Click OK on the next screen, to allow the package to extract the contents of the file to it's own folder, mbar.
By default, this will be on your desktop, though you can choose another location if you wish. We advise using the default location for simplicity.
mbar.exe will launch automatically. On some systems, this may take a few extra seconds. Please be patient and wait for the program to open.
After reading the Introduction, click 'Next' if you agree.
On the Update Database screen, click on the 'Update' button.
Once you see 'Success: Database was successfully updated' click on 'Next'.
Click the 'Scan' button.

Inspirion 15 Dell Labtop crashed - Download windows 8.1 to reinstall
Dear Support Helpdesk,
My labtop has crashed and  I recently upgraded to windows 10. Now my computer will not boot up and let me provide my password to get into the system.
A blue screen comes on and indicates:

"RECOVERY"
Your PC/Device needs to be repaired
The boot configuration Data file is missing some required information
File:\BCD
Error Code: 0xc0000034
You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your PC Administrator or PC/Device manufacturer.
Please tell me you can help and the "FIX IT" is simple? I'm the PC Administrator and am at an end of the rope and have no idea what to do next, but download windows upgrade 8.1 on a DVD-R and put it on my laptop? Can you walk me thru this if infact
I can do this and this is the only solution. In-addition, I'm currently on a budget and on Disability and obviously can't afford to by anything to fix the laptop and looking for a free at hand solution. Which I should mention have no product key code in case
I might need one. If I do need one "QUESTION: Can I get one somewhere for free?"

I've been trying to rollback my OS on my Windows 7 Dell XPS 15(501) labtop to a XP64 bit version of Windows with NO success. I've done this sort of thing on my desktop, also from Dell (630i) and had success after I slipstreamed the appropriate SATA drivers onto the Xp install disc. But for my neweer xps 15 labtop it's not working when I try and do a Windows xp install. I get the standard BSOD at "Starting Windows."

I know, or at least I think Im getting the right drivers for this PC.

Specs:

Windows 7 64 bit Home
Dell XPS L501X XPS 15
Intel Mobile 5 Series express chipset HM57
Intel 5 Series 6 port ACHI SATA Controller
Just bought this brand new from Dell earlier this year, and just wondering if anyone has got new Dell machines, especially this model and exact specs to work with XP64bit.

Ive already tried downloading the latest driver from Intel (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?lang=eng&DwnldID=20110)

I just got this new Dell XPS 15 9550 2 days ago (10-Aug-16) and it has already crashed 4 times with blue screen. After the first BSOD, I thought it was due to outdated drivers. But then I updated all drivers to latest including updated BIOS. Then I ran a system diagnostic test from the Dell support page. Second BSOD occurred while running diagnostics. Today I just turned on the computer and it crashed with BSOD while just sitting idle. The I ran a second diagnostic test. This time, the diagnostics ran successfully except two.

Integrated Webcam                    Edge Detection      Test Failed
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M    Block Move Test     Cannot Run
The BSOD were CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED or UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION.The system just seems so unstable to do anything serious on it..Is this laptop worth keeping or should I just return it? How does the 9550 work for others?

Dell Inspiron 1721; Vista; Service Pack 1 regularly updated; AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core Processor, 1.9 GHz; 3 GB RAM; 250 GB HDD with 137 GB free space. Using AVG paid subscription with current updates; SuperAntiSpyware paid subscription with current updates; SpywareBlaster, also updated regularly; and Ad-Aware Plus, also updated. SuperAntiSpyware found a trojan last week, but said it fixed it, so that's probably not a problem.

It has been fine until today except that the playback on sound and video that are on the HDD or onlie have been hanging up for some reason that I haven't figured out and a notice every day or so that the network controller has stopped working, but Windows can't fix it - - it always starts up again right away. Today, as music was playing, the computer hung up and began beeping loudly with the music skipping sort of like a bad CD would - - but the music was on the HDD not a CD. Then the blue screen - - and that hung up - - and I had to turn off the unit manually. It has seemed a bit slower today than usual, but that's the only other sign of trouble before the crash.

Any suggestions or advice? The computer is still under warranty, but just thought to check if it might be something simple I could fix before calling Dell and shipping it off. The only thing different today is that I installed itunes and Quicktime yesterday. Nothing else has changed recently. Before going to sleep, I am going to uninstall itunes and delete the hundreds of music files... Read more

My husband has a Dell laptop, it says Inspiron Model #PP08L on the bottom, and it's pretty old, but (was) still functioning well. This computer has always been just a little slow, so we don't overload it with junk, I delete junk files and cookies and defragment it when it wants it. Lately it will work for a while then the screen will turn blue and there is just gibberish all over the page (I mean it's English, but pretty much nonsense and numbers to me). When it does this we have to just hold the button and turn it off-you can't get back to the main screen to shut it down. Now it's started where this blue screen is pretty much all there is. You can mash enter all day but there's never anything else. Someone suggested a memory issue. Could it be that or does it have some nasty virus? (It's been on AVG protection). Can it be saved? My laptop's messed up too, so we'd like at least one of our computers to work!!!!!

I had a computer, a Dell Inspiron B130, and I was about to run the last released version of the DooM source port Risen3d. Earlier, I had turned up the volume due to a music file being very low. The result was E1M1 blasting to all the people in the very small room. I tried to turn the volume down, but the old PC was having a hard enough time loading all the hiresolution textures and MD2 models. The power button wouldn't work, so I closed the cover and started to walk out. The music stopped, and the power lights went off. I opened the cover to restart the comp, then the lights came back on, the music blaring again, and I was starting to get stared at. I'm very shy, so I just pulled the plug on the laptop. The battery wasn't connected properly, and the power was cut instantly. Everything stopped, and I waited for a while to let thing cool off (one problem with the PC is that it doesn't ever give me heat errors even though the botom is about to melt off). I put the battery back in properly, and turned it on. It went normal, showing me the Dell BIOS screen, then the second BIOS screen, then the boot options came on. It said to choose reboot normaly if you didn't know what happened or there was a power failure. I chose it, and after the Windows boot screen came up (I am running Windows XP Home Edition) and the little blue bar went all the way accross, a blue screen came up with an error message. Can anyone tell me what the code means?

It also tells me about getting a "hot fix" - it's a form of Windows update - how can I do this if I cannot log on.

Any experience out there with this blue screen? Just reinstalled XP with Dell disk on a Dementia 8250. Reinstall went fine accept for the ethernet driver. This seems to be a common problem with 8250 reinstalls. got blue screen after windows update.
Blue screen said problem with nv4_disp.
I got the blue screen only after performing all windows updates right after shut down and reboot. I was able to restore to an earlier moment in the reinstall and I seem to not be having any problem but I elected to "not" install the windows update provided Nvidiia GeForce 4mx420 update offered by Microsoft.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi, I've never posted on these forums but I am hoping someone can help. I bought a Dell Laptop and have, seemingly at random, gotten the Blue Screen when I start up my computer. I cannot find any pattern for this happening. I have gotten this screen almost as soon as I bought the computer. It sometimes reboots without a problem, but most times, I have to try Windows's System Restore and other troubleshooting tools several times before it reboots again. Sometimes this process can take me a couple of hours.
I decided to reformat my computer, and after a few days the same problem occurs. The computer works fine when on, but I am now afraid to turn it off since I might get the Blue Screen again and I don't know if I'll be able to reboot it successfully again (or lose all my data otherwise).
On reading previous threads, I saw that similar problems were more easily solved if the minidump files were provided, so I am attaching them hoping they will provide more insight. Thanks for your help!!

A:Blue screen of death on a Dell laptop

Hi hkopene019057

My name is Anrick ,I work for the Dell social media and community
You have mentioned that it usually occurs when you are playing a game, so I would suspect the problem to be related to your Video drivers or the video card itself
First thing you can try is updating the Video driver from our support site ( www.support.dell.com) selecting the correct model of the system.

In order to help you better with the issue I would like you to answer to these questions
1. When usually these blue screens occur?
2. Do u get an error code or error message if yes what is the code/message?

The Blue Screen of Death (also known as the BSOD) is a screen that Windows shows you when it shuts down your computer in order to prevent damage to it. It's also known as a STOP error or as a BugCheck Code. It is a hardware error by definition - but this doesn't mean that it's caused by faulty hardware. Viruses, corrupt drivers, and even poorly written programs can cause it.

How to Find BSOD (Blue Screen) Error Messages: follow this link
How To Find Bsod Error Messages

3. What happens after the blue screen, do you have to restart the system, it restarts itself or it comes back up normally?

I turn on my Dell xps M2010 laptop and at the startup it goes to start windows normally ,
safe mode ,safe mode with command prompt and safe mode with networking, as well as last good startup.

none of these options are usefull because each one sends me back to error message " A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is your first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. if this screen appears again follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. RUN CHKDSK / F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

can't do any of that and have had a hell of a time trying to figure out what to do since all my work is on there and i don't have anything else to use.

please can you help me?

thank you.

Hi everyone, I'm new here, don't know much about computers, and I need help today. My 1 year old Dell Inspiron 518 came with Vista Home PremiumX64, and the warranty expired a week ago. They won't talk to me without charge.

I have a blue screen. One error was a Stop 0x00000050, Fatal System Error c0000221 - Unknown Hard Error\SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll. Another blue screen error read, 0xc004D301 Security Processor reported the trusted data store was tampered.

I was able to go under the Boot Menu and run a diagnostic. It said Error Code 2000-0123 (Memory Integrity Test Failed).

I haven't been able to get Windows to load at all, nothing I try is working, and I don't want to spend money for servicemen to come in. Anything I can do that's not too involved?

Thanks very much for any advice or info!

A:Blue Screen on Dell 518 Inspiron with Vistax64

Hi,

It is very unfortunate that your warranty expired a week ago. Have you tried Safe Mode? If you can access it, can you please navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump, zip up the contents of that folder and upload it to your next post. Then we can analyse it properly for you.

All your Stop codes are different and point to different problems, but can you re-run Memory Test, and give us the full results including Address. Unfortunately, it sounds like one of your sticks of RAM has broken.

Have you installed any modifications to Windows. If you can access Safe Mode, I would strongly advise running your anti-virus scanner and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: Malwarebytes.org

Sorry,

Richard

My Dell computer was working pretty well for a while, then while on youtube I kept getting messages saying I was getting viruses, so I tried removing them. Eventually they stopped, but my computer went to the blue screen.

Now I'm getting the usual message to check everything, like disk space and bis updates. The Technical Information I'm getting at the bottom of the message is

Hi -

The 3 BSODs are USB related.

Run Driver Verifier - Driver Verifier - Windows 7 & Vista (BSOD-related)

Driver Verifier needs to run 24 hours minimum or BSOD.

Upon BSOD, re-run the jcgriff2 BSOD app - http://www.techsupportforum.com/foru...ta-452654.html

Also, run Speccy - http://www.filehippo.com/download_speccy

Hello I have a friends computer here that I can not get to boot into windows. It does have the Dell diagnostics on it but has done me no good. When I try to boot the computer it will show the xp screen but then goes directly to the blue screen. When I try to boot into safe mode it will start to load it but by the time it reaches the bottom of the screen rather than scrolling down and continuing to load it goes to the blue screen and I get the following

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try chaging video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Hello, I was hoping I could post a previous thread where other gentlemen also had Dell 630i series blue screen issues but being a forum newbie, it would not allow me to do so.

A quick recap of my issue: I have been receiving blue screen errors every few days (or sooner) for awhile now such as this:
0x0000001A (0x00041284, 0x11BA3001, 0x0000612F, 0xC0802000)

They all start with 0x0000001A.

The specs are :

750GB Sata 2 hard drive

Dual ATI radeon 3870 series cards

Quad Q9300 processors

4GB DDR2 sdram 800Mhz

I naively thought replacing Vistas with 7 would help, but it didnt at all.

Dell had me do a MpMemory test: all aspects passed, as well as a confidence test, and SMART short self test for my SATA, which also passed.

I am pretty much a casual user and not so good on the technical stuff; the good news is it appears I'm still under the 2 year warranty.

Resolutions by other guys that had this problem on their 630i machines included Dell replacing the motherboard.

Any info is greatly appreciated, I seem to be getting the run around by Dell on this.

Thank you for your time.

PS Any guys who had these machines and the same problem (Roymondo!) please let me know how your resolution worked out.

Hello!,
Is there any hope to recover data from this laptop? It is a Dell Latitude D620. I get a blue screen even if I try to reinstall Windows XP . The blue windows appears as soon as the laptop tries to install the CD on the hard drive. I ran the diagnostic test and get three error codes: 0F00:1A44, 0F00:0244, and 0F00:075D. Is this a dead hard drive?.....or, is this just something that can be fixed or classified as "software related"? Thanks for your help!

Loving it, Here's the story.

Laptop working fine, little bit slow here and there. AVG had always slowed my computer down with its uploads every time I turn on the computer, and since I already had the latest AdAware program I thought, hey lets uninstall.

During its removal it had an error, something to do with a file or folder or something (cannot remember) being corrupted/screwed and could not complete the process. I then gave up on the idea, tried to go online and it froze, I had to turn it off by holding down the on button. That was the last time I could use my laptop.

Now, when I turn on the computer, it will not start in any mode, safe mode included. It starts the Windows loading screen then jumps to a blue screen (yep, that devilish blue screen).

Error code: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
***STOP: 0x000000ED (0x86585900, 0xc000009c, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

When I start in safe mode, the very last line of programs or whatever to show up before it cuts to the blue screen is avgisshx.sys. I find it interesting seeing it was AVG that was the last program that I altered.

Now please don't say do a search, I have already spent at least three hours searching and this is my last resort. From what I have found I need to get a Windows XP Home Edition repair/restore/fix CD (not sure what version, all I can find is copyright 2004 on the windows sticker). Flop it in the CD drive and let it do its thing. So where can I obtain it? I have access to a XP Home Edition computer so i... Read more

The avgisshx.sys file is indeed from AVG. And the unmountable boot volume means that the boot file has become corrupted or the HDD has failed.

Hi.
I am brand new here. I have found this delightful forum to be the only one that is intelligently able to assess one's minidump files. Here are mine. This is from a laptop running winxp pro. i have performed all the procedures outlined in the "before you post minidumps" notice, and I still have nothing. Please let me know if I posted my minidumps incorrectly. Thanks to anyone who can help. The laptop blue-screens after a few minutes of being fully logged in and running. The blue screens states: Page fault in non-paged area at which point a minidump file is created and the machine reboots. Thanks for any help!

A:Dell Laptop Blue Screen w/Minidump

what kind of dell is it inspiron or lat system??? have you tried running the 32bit dell diagnostics from the boot menu??? to access just post the system and at the dell logo screen hit the F12 key then chose the option that says boot to utility partition and run the express test then the extended test if nothing shows up. also remember that if you don't have a cdrom such as a windows disk in the drive then you will get an error for the cdrom when it tests it so just continue on past that and do the rest of the test.. do that then work on the minidumps...so you can get possible hardware out of the wat first.then you can be pretty sure it is software realted such as driver or new software install done recently

We've had an issue with our Dell computer for about 2 months.  After just a few minutes of use, the dreaded blue screen pops up and essentially shuts the computer down.  We've contacted Dell, who told us there was a ton of malware junk on it, but they wanted to charge us close to $200 to repair it for us.  We've tried several anti-virus and malware programs to no avail.  We just ran the combofix program, and below is our log.  If anyone can help us find the problem, we'd be very grateful!  Thanks!

Dimension 5150 PC Running WinXP

OK, I'm trumped.

Turn it on. Says Windows could not load and to protect the machine, it has stopped the boot sequence. Standard options; boot t safe mode, from ROM, to Partition, etc. Every single option gives me the blue screen.

So i thought it was the HD. Ran all the DELL diagnostics utilities and it passed all tests.

Tried to boot from CDROM to see if I could do a soft reinstall. No dice. Tested the CDROM in another machine and it works fine.

Went through setup and made sure the bot sequence was correct and also checked over the RAM, CPU, etc. Checked over the BIOS. All is good.

What else can I do? I can't seem to be able to pinpoint the problem. According to all the tests I've run using the Dell utility software, nothing is wrong with the hardware or firmware. Yet, still won't boot.

Totally baffled. Any ideas?

It might have passed the Dell test, but download the ISO image for Memtest in my signature. Burn the image to CD using IMGBurn also in my signature. Boot off of the newly created CD and run the tests. If you get any errors (Red), there is one stick of RAM that is bad and needs to be replaced.
You can also remove the HDD and attach it internally to a desktop computer, via USB Adapter or put it in a USB Enclosure and test the HDD on another computer.

A:BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH on Dell Desktop!

I have repaired and cleaned two Dell systems in the past three days. Both had XP home edition on it. One actually returned the blue screen of death twice on me due to memory issues, but...the error returned (once the error was sent to M$)stated that it was in fact a back door Trojan. The other one was a fake BSOD created by a malicious advertiser that wanted me to purchase their spyware removal program to basically...in essence, remove their installed virus.

Either way, my guess is that you have one of those two issues. There seems to be a major influx of this particular virus/Trojan download package either activating itself here lately, or just coming down the pipeline.

With the first computer, I found a .dll file by the name of: ati3d2a.dll (NOTE: the typical ATI driver is actually named: ati3d2.dll or ati3d2ag.dll) which could not be deleted no matter what I tried. It replicated itself only if AVG moved it into the vault and the registry value could NOT be delted nor permissions changed regardless of method. Safe Mode, CMD.....didn't matter.

I would also check to see if you have a replication file going on that names itself alpha or numerical as well. The second computer had a file that started out with the letter "b" and then progressed in increased increments such as: b100.exe b101.exe, b102exe and so on and so forth.

It was tied to a BHO (browser help object) and even though the value was deleted and removed, another program would continue churning t... Read more

We bought our son this laptop for xmas 2007, using windows vista home premium. Recently he got a blue screen stating that windows shut down to prevent damage to computer. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and if this is the first time this has happened, restart computer and if it appears again follow these steps: Check if any new hardware or software was installed properly, if problem continues remove any newly installed hard or software or disable BIOS memory option such as caching or shadowing, etc, etc. Stop:
0x0000000A(0x00000016,0x0000001B,0x00000000,0x81CE7B6F) collecting data for crash dump, dumping physical memory to disk 100, etc. I did try to restart and I could get to desktop, but could not get online even though I was connected. He had been using a computer game from a disc, so I removed the software, but it didn't help. I finally tried to call Dell, today, but they wanted a credit card and 49.99 for me even to tell anyone what the problem was. I went through the book that came with the laptop and connected to internet using safemode with networking capability and here I am. I found this site and thought I would give it a shot. If any kind person can give me any sort of help, I sure would appreciate it.

Hello everyone, this is going to be my first thread on this forums and I would like to say nice to meet you all. I recently upgraded my Dell XPS M1530 from Vista to Windows 7 x64. I did a clean installation from scratch so my computer wouldn't be slow. Unfortunately Dell XPS M1530 is not Windows 7 compatible. But drivers for Vista will work on Windows 7. After getting everything set, I used Windows 7 Ultimate for about 3months. When my computer is in use, it seems to be fine (recently the blue screen pops open more). But when I leave my computer alone, it shuts down on its own by getting the blue screen. Also whenever my PC shuts down with blue screen, after reboot it leaves a message about my computer shutting down inappropriately (it asks me if I wanna find a solution, but says it cannot be found). The blue screen usually last for about 10 seconds, on the screen it says "to prevent damage on the computer" and it seems to be scanning something in the computer and it shuts down. Sorry, but I am a noob with computers, and I do not understand lots of things about PC. But if anyone can help, that would be great

Also after rebooting from blue screen, I received a message like this:

I've only been having this recently, I thought this was a Video problem because it normally happens when my card is rendering a lot, I bought a new card and it still crashed and gave blue screen of death, Next I tried upgrading ram because my Usage is always 100%, Upgraded from 1gig to 3gig, I must say I feel the difference but I still end up with the blue screen, I thought oh crap, the only thing I haven't tried is buying a new Hard Drive which I'm going to be doing soon(I need the space) and the processor, Well since I have a dell 5150 they programmed there bios to reject new processors, The only way I can is to find a flashed version and try that but I can't find any. I mostly suspect its my Processor because its only 2.80 single core and I am a heavy application user and gamer. Maybe someone could explain my problem and maybe find a solution. If I need to do any processor tests ect let me know.

A:Dell 5150 - Blue Screen Of Death

Step 1 seems that it would be...take a look in Event Viewer for details of errors that might relate. What is the Event Viewer, and Should I Care - Ask Leo! - http://ask-leo.com/what_is_the_event_viewe...uld_i_care.html Disable Auto Reboot On System Crash - http://www.theeldergeek.com/auto_reboot_on_system_crash.htm Post details (by double-clicking on that error in Event Viewer) and that should provide more pertinent info to go on.Louis

I have a dell inspiron 8100. It's giving me the blue screen and last time this happened I just "repaired" windows xp using my cd. This time, when I go to the setup screen, in page 2 "Boot order", at the top of the boot devices it says "Configure Setup is disabled." The boot order is Internal HDD, then CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive, then diskette drive, then modular bay hdd, cardbus NIC, APR NIC and last Mini-PCI NIC. I just want to move CD to 1st but I can't.

"u" and "d" to move devices up and down is locked. Up and down arrow does not move the highlight up and down like it should so I can't hit enter, or spacebar, on the one I want (CD). Right and left arrows do nothing. The only commands that do anything on this screen are Esc, which obviously escapes out of the setup, and Alt-P changes to the next page, but that doesn't help. And PgDn and PgUp which just moves the right side up and down which is just for information purposes.

It is a Dell Inspiron 8100 1200U Setup and BIOS Version: A11

Any suggestions?

I have a Dell XPS M1730 with Intel Centrino and Vista that suddenly started blinking solid colors, I thinkred reen blue. Soon before this happen I was having issues when using a video player, Z Video. I just put the glitches off to having Vista. I also downloaded a font from an unreliable source, yes I know, and then Avast said it detected a virus and moved it to the vault then Avast said I was all good. Well a little with later it just started blinking red...green..blue...red...green... I could be off on the order. I pressed Escape and it stopped. Then a few minutes later it happened again and Escape did not stop it. Ctrl-alt-Escape did nothing. I hit the power button and after a few seconds it the blinking stopped and the regular shutdown process began , I saved my work allowed the programs to close and it shut down. I think I should try and restart in safe mode but I am afraid of a virus doing more damage though I suspect (hope) its just a driver issue. I am not under warranty and really need this computer to work so any help fixing this problem will be amensly appreciated. .

I have had the Dell Inspiron 2200 laptop for 3 and a half years now and it has developed some serious problems. On start up it takes to a white screen and asks for my hard disk password. I have had it since new and never entered a password and have also acquired the master password from dell and still it will not accept the password. In order to get anywhere I have to press enter three times to get to a black screen with ?F1 to reboot, F2 to setup". Pressing F1 results in a beep then the same line comes up again. I then press F2 to get to the blue screen where all I can do to get past it is to go to maintenance then load defaults then after pressing save and exit it reboots again. Sometimes it will then load the normal windows screen but mostly it takes me back to the start again at the white password screen.

Also whenever I try to download anything or open the disk drive a killer blue screen appears with the message " KERNAL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR" and "STOP: 0x00000077 (0xc0000185 0xc0000185 0x00000000 0x06bf3000)"

I would really appreciate anyone?s help on how to correct this problem or if I need to replace any parts or the whole laptop as at the moment it is my only computer and I am struggling without it functioning properly.

Thank you for your help, Dan

Hi everybody,

I got this baby packed with dual xeons e5320 and a FireGL v5600 video, but installed with a 32bit Windows XP Pro. As I see all the hardware is optimized for 64bit OS, so I tried to install the XP x64 Pro but got a bluescreen in the begining of intallation.

I'm aware of the driver needed for the SAS cotroller and I downloaded the 64bit version, but still got the same bluescreen . What could I do now?

And is XP x64 Pro a good choice anyway?
Price is a priority

Thanks

Hi all, I am new to your group and i have a Dell 9100, XP home with a 160 gig hard drive and one gig memory, I am getting the blue screen with the following error codes,0x000000c2, 0x00000043,0xc27e4000, my XP will not start in any mode, no safe mode. I get the welcome screen and starting XP and then it will shut down. so far my research came up with, driver problem, memory and one expert thought it might be the motherboard. I do not have any kind of a restore/recovery disc. This was a new purchase. According to one technician (friend) stated that all my programs and files are there. pressing F8 running all options with no success. A new hard drive was installed, same thing, different fault codes. The computer was used by a family member, I was left with the shut down, I found that four or more programs were running, Yahoo, print program, picture (pass port) program, video, plus a foreign language. I could not close any program, I had to turn off the power. Any advise would be appreciated.

Please can someone give me a fix for the following problem with a DELL PC (I am communicating from a Fujitsu laptop to post this thread.)

Within minutes of connecting to broad band,
the PC goes off line unbidden. The following is the blue screen report:

"Driver Power State Failure. Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If it continues, remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing."

No hardware or software has been installed. The problem turned up out of the blue.

The stop code reads..........
0X00000009F (0X00006500, 0X00000002, 0X81FE2CB0, 0X8201EB70)

A:Blue Screen: Broadband Switches off unbidden on a Dell PC

According to Microsoft:

Driver Power State Failure (stop code 0X0000009F)

This error is caused by an incompatibility between your computer's power management and one or more installed drivers or services, typically when the computer enters the "hibernate" state. If the name of a file or service is specified, try uninstalling the software (or rolling back the driver if it's an upgrade). Or, try disabling Windows' support for power management.

So, boot the system but do NOT go online, then try the suggested fixes (best bet might be disabling the power management features, such as ACPI or whatever power management standard your system uses... If you're not sure, check your motherboard manual for details, or go to the manufacturer's website...

I came across a Dell Inspiron N7010. Everytime I turn it on, the Dell symbol comes on, then the bar goes around and fills, then it should start to load windows vista. Well when it starts to load Vista it stops and give me a blue screen that says different errors almost every time it does this. The last time the error said something like

Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQAL

and it also game me a crap load of stop error codes, here is one of them

0x00000050 (0x8607FFF8,0x00000000,0x8BAD1BD3,0x00000000)

Now I know these are stop error codes from doing some research but I can't fix them using that windows tool because I can't get into windows at all!! lol sorry, frustrated. I kept reading about a windbgtool or something similar and they would direct people to do things from the desktop when windows is on and working. Well I can't get passed it and I'm totally stumped on where to go from here. The inspiron N7010 has an i5 processor which is pretty nice and I have 8gb of DDR3 6400 16000 800mhz ram and a 120gb SSD to go with it to, so it would be a nice working laptop if I could get past this blue screen problem!! Someone please help me.....

So I get two sort of blue screen errors: Memory management, and bcmwl. This has been happening on and off since last year and I'm not sure what is going on. I worked with support last year and all we did was just update all of my drivers - problem went away for a few months but then the blue screening starts coming back. I can't identify an actual pattern on what causes this, tried going through event viewer to find some sort of trigger I am really just not sure. I have the latest wifi driver given from Dell's driver website - and I believe after running the "Identify drivers" search engine off of Dell's drivers website, it recently just pointed me to update my graphics driver as well as install some applications (Which I haven't done as of yet).
Ran system file checker as well as Window's memory diagnostic showing no problems found on both ends, please help - really tired of getting these blue screens

I purchased a Dell Inspiron 1520 with Vista Home Premium. The computer was an "open box special" I started to migrate the data and settings over, and shortly threreafter got the BSOD. Sometimes it says Driver_IRQl and other times Driver_power_state.I called dell, and all hardware checks out. I did Dell's crash analysis, and got a "vsdatant.sys" driver conflict with my Zone Alarm anti-virus. I have reinstalled it three times, and EVERYTIME I try to do a virus scan, I was getting the BSOD, so I dumped it. I have dumped zone alarm anti virusHere is where it get's fun. I descided to do a chkdsk /F. WHen I do that a blue software screen pops up that says :In the top bar of the following software box, the path reads:C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exeTrojan-Spy.HTML smitfraud. So my XPS 410 recently started having this problem. After turning the computer on you immediately notice specks of blue and pink dots all over the screen. After having the computer on for about 5 minutes the screen starts blinking on and off. I thought it might be the monitor itself and went and bought a new one today but that didn't help one bit. Could it be the video card? I really don't know what to do and am hoping someone else may know so I don't have to go out and buy a whole new computer!!

I'd appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks!

I'm trying to help a friend with his Dell Latitude D410 Win xp pro. I'm a rank amateur, but know enough to get myself in trouble...
This notebook has no cd/dvd drive or floppy drive, just usb. When you power it on, goes past the DELL splash screen then comes up to 'windows did not start successfully", blah, blah blah, and gives me the choices of safe mode, with networking, with command prompt, last known good config. or start windows normally = tried them all and it keeps coming up to the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH "0x0000007B (0xF8895528,0xc0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000).. I even swapped in a known good hard drive and came up to the same BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH.  I removed the D410 original hard drive and tried hooking it into my main Dell Studio XPS wind 7 computer to try to access the file system = it did not "see" the drive. I then hook it into a good running Dell D610 Win xp laptop, it took a good number of minutes for the drive to show up, but I couldn't access it. I did double-check the "known good" hard drive by cabling it to other computers and was able to access with no problem and then returned it to it's rightful place in it's properly running laptop. I did a search for "Create bootable USB drives the easy way" and downloaded  "RUFUS"  http://rufus.akeo.ie/ , but when I plugged in the RUFUS loaded usb, hit F12 to boot menu, chose USB, "invalid or damaged bootable partition" came up.   Any ideas?

Hi All, I am really in need of some help if possible.

I recently bought a new Dell XPS 16 laptop but seem to be incurring a daily crash or blue screen of death incident which can not be good for me or the laptop!

The blue screen error seems to be something about something called BUGCODE?

I followed some forums who said remove AVG but this didnt work?

Also the laptop just locks up all of a sudden or goes to a black screen and crashed?

Can not get the Task Manager of and have to do a hard reset to get it back up again?

II downloaded the SF Diagnostic Tool and have attached the files, so hoping all the info is there but if you need anything else let me know?

Thanks for any help in advance!
