This has been going on for a couple of months.
My company is running Win2003 server and Outlook 2003. From time to time, I will check email from home using the remote access built in to Server 2003.
Every email I have shows up in my inbox, but when I try to open certain emails from other internal employees, I will get the following error:
The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
No support or additional tech data is listed. It is not always from the same user and it is not consistent (I might be able to read the first email but not the followup later in the day, etc.) The problem does not correct itself (if I can't read it today, I can't read it tomorrow or next week.)
No problems occur when I read the email at work on my deskop machine (not remotely). I have not experienced the problem from users that are not on our domain.
Went to Wndows 7 after the end of XP support. Decided to set up the Microsoft Outlook in the Office 2007 so I could utilize the calender etc. I have traditionally accessed my email through the ISPs applications on my computer as well as my iPad and iPhone. It seems that the MS Outllook has wiped out my emails from the ISP apps back to the middle of March.I can get my curent emails as long as I don't open the MS outlook. Is there a setting in the MS outlook that I can change to prevent this or am I bound to the MS Outlook for my email access. Thanks in advance for your help.
You don't have to use Outlook, you can use Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail. There're probably others as well, but I use Tbird and WLM myself. Of course there's always web mail too. I have to say though that it doesn't sound right for Outlook to be doing what you describe. Do you have all the MS maintenance for it installed? I have Office 2007 and get updates for it all the time.
I have Outlook 2003 currently install on my laptop. But there are times I have to travel every now and then. How can I get my company emails through my Outlook 2003?
We have Exchange 2000, and I know I could use OWA ( Outlook Web Access ) but I rather use my own Outlook 2003. Are there any instructions how to accomplish this? If so do I have to do anything on the email server?

Yes, I just recently installed Microsoft Office 2010 Pro onto my computer. I have run into a bit of a problem. I wanna make Microsoft Outlook 2010 the default email client for my user side and I wanna leave Outlook Express as default for another user on my computer. I cannot seem to figure out how to do this because once you pick a default email program on one user desktop it also makes it the default for other users on the computer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Sorry, that can't be done because the default email application is "global" (All Users).
I am using Vista Home premium 32 bit and i am using windows mail for all my emails. I also have office 2007 with Microsoft Outlook.
Problem is that i want to use microsoft Outlook but i can't transfer/export my email accounts from Vista Windows mail to Microsoft Outlook or even outlook express for XP. I have forgotten 3 critical passwords so I cannot recreate the email accounts in Outlook....
How can I export my email accounts to microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express from Vista Windows mail??? please help.
Hello again kapilkaaiser,
I think you need to import the required info into Outlook 2007 -
In Outlook 2007, click File > Import and Export > Make the appropriate choices
> & hopefully the Import / Export Wizard will oblige.
Post back with your results.

How do I make Microsoft Outlook the default email program? I make the change in IE version 5, but when I reboot the system (Win 98), Outlook Express is once again selected as the default email program.
I read in a previous post about using the following sequence for making Outlook Express the default. Is there anything similar for Microsoft Outlook? :
To make Outlook Express your default e-mail client:
Close OE, click Start/Run and enter this command line, complete with quotes, spaces and the /reg switch:
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

I'm running AnalogX proxy on a two-computer network connected by a cable and network card on each computer. AnalogX works fine for surfing but I can't receive any email. Sending seems to work. On first try, it gets are far as "Contacting host: 10.0.0.1." but never connects. After disabling my Norton Anti-Virus software "check mail coming in/out", I get "Connected to Host: verifing login info," but it never goes through and finanally quits saying that it could not verify my user name and password. Tried using both Netscape Mail and Outlook Express. Both computers are running WIN98SE, 20GB HD, 256RAM. Any ideas? Thanks.
Norton sets up a proxy server locally to hold incoming emails prior to delivering them to the mail client. By default it sets this up on 10.0.0.1 unless you specify otherwise. Analog proxy is probably not configured to allow the proper ports to forward to the client PC's behind it. Look at the settings for port 110 for POP mail and 25 for SMTP. There are configuration buttons for email here.....
Okay--I don't think I want to run a microsoft exchange server--seems like to much of a hassle. I use Outlook on 3 computers at home. Right now I am testing out a syncying program so that all 3 computers Outlook are in Synch. It works OK except the I have to write the rules on each computer--they don't synch--I'd like to have that happen if possible.
Anyway, I was thinking FTP would probably be a much easier way to accomplish having the Outlook available where I go so long as I have access to the Internet.
Any ideas on how best to set this up? I'm not adverse to running Exchange Server, but I'd rather not give any more money to Microsoft if I can use something else that works just as well or better or even close to as good.
Bump! Come on you idiots--come up with something!
The process svchost.exe maxes out my cpu after my computer has been on for about 2 days. There is nothing special happening when it starts running. I have used Process Explorer to investigate and it is only when i stop the service "Routing and Remote Access" that the cpu usage comes back down to normal. However, this messes up my internet connection so it really is not an optimal solution. I would really appreciate if anyone could help me with this!

I got a pop up that was loud and wouldn't let me close it saying, "your computer has been infected call Microsoft" and I did because I turned it off and it was still yelling st me when I turned it back on. I gave the tech remote access and he said I had a tiny something trojan virus. Well I didn't fall for paying, got off the phone, held power button down and turned computer off. Am able to use it fine now with no more warning but am I safe after giving the remote access? I was on the phone for about 30 mins while he was going around to different areas in my computer telling me what all of the "problems" were.
It wasn't Microsoft, it was a scam. I suggest you have a look here and create a new post asking for assistance to ensure your computer has not been compromised .1 more replies
My father saw a pop-up that said his computer had an error and was infected with malware. The pop-up had a phone number to call. He talked to someone who said he was a certified Microsoft technician and got my dad scared about the Zeus virus. My dad gave him access to his computer and they did a remote session.
The person did not ask for a credit card number, he asked to be mailed a check but wasn't too worried about getting paid.
I know that my dad should not have done what he did But now I'm trying to clean the computer from what may be compromised. I am currently running SpyHunter and it has already found 217 threats detected. It looks like the scary one is HawkEye keylogger and there is also Conduit Search/Toolbar and FindYourMaps Toolbar. I'm 70% done.
I'd love to know what to do next and if someone could please walk me through all the things I need to make sure and take care of to keep my dad safe. Thank you for your help and support!

Hi, this is my first post...
Can you advise how I should go about remotely accessing my outlook express?
My outlook express is on my home pc (no server) and I just bought a laptop because i am on the move quite a bit and I'd like to be able to see my outlook express, receive mails, and send mails from my outlook express account, usng my laptop when I'm on the move.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi Darragh, welcome to BC.
There is no need to remotely access your home system (if that's what you mean) to retrieve your OE mail.
Simply duplicate the account on your laptop and download\view\send directly from it. Nothing to it.
Can I use Outlook on my laptop at home, to connect to email through a Microsoft Exchange Server at work?
I have this set up on my iphone, so it must be possible?! How?!
Might be possible depending on how Exchange is configured. You may be able to use Outlook webmail, which is outlook via the web. This would be the a quick and easy way to access your email through an Outlook like interface.
Outlook anywhere allows you to use an Outlook email client using an internet connection to Exchange. Also called RPC over HTTP.
If you have VPN access to work, you can simply setup Outlook as if you were onsite.
Your IT department will have all the info needed to configure outlook and connect remotely.
Greetings All!So one of my users got some malware and did the cleaning up himself.Windows XP Sp3He says it was antivirus 2010, not too big a deal, so onwards. Now though he is not accessing the internet. I'm running Windows XP, microsoft outlook for email.
I have three email accounts on this home computer.
i receive emails addressed to none of the three.
Mostly Viagra emails, and my wife says she didn't send them
I usually and them to the junk senders list or adult senders list.
But i still receive keep getting them
i don't know if they are from the same sender because i don't save them to compare.
I'm using Norton system-works and Anti virus.
I just noticed the my Email page says Norton-Microsoft Outlook
never noticed that before, but that doesn't mean i wast there for a while
these are the email for today
7 out of 10 emails I received this morning were not addressed to any of our three email addresses, in fact one didn?t even have an address in the TO: space.
So can somebody help me?
what they do have in common with me is the roadrunner.com, does that mean anything?
Whenever outlook inbox is opened to send a new e-mail, the attached print screen message shows. This happens every time. Is there a way to disable it, as it becomes very annoying.

Im hoping someone here can help me out. I am running Outlook 2007 on my laptop and Exchange 2003 on a personal server located in my apt.
When I am in my apt. connected to my wireless, as expected, I have no issues sending/receiving email through exchange.
When I am on the road however, I am obviously unable to connect to my exchange server. I setup a VPN tunnel that works successfully and when I manually dial the VPN connection or manually put outlook into offline mode (so that it dials the VPN connection), I am able to successfully get my emails through exchange.
My question is, is there away to setup outlook such that I dont have to manually dial the VPN or put it in offline mode? I set the exchange server account settings to automatically detect my connection status, but it is detecting my network connection as being ok, even though the Exchange server is not located on that network and needs to be dialed in.
I know it sounds lazy and it is, but Id rather not have to manually do anything, especially if I decide to give some of my less computer literate friends email addresses in my domain. Id rather not use IMAP and SMTP due to security issues having to open the ports on the firewall.

Hi my name is Howard, the problem that I`m having is I keep getting pop ups from Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer keeps telling me that I have a virus a worm, or Trojan that`s attacking my system. I`ve run all the necessary programs, but can`t find anything wrong with my system. Can you please help.
Is this possible? If so, could anyone please guide me through the steps to set it up?
Mail Plus $19.99/yr.
With POP access, you can download your Yahoo! Mail messages using your desktop email application, such as Outlook™, and then access them offline.
You can also download the freeware, YPOPS! And configure it to use Outlook/OE. All information can be found on their website.
If you accidentally enter an incorrect email address in Microsoft Outlook, and then send the mail, the message is always there in the future.
You can turn off the feature to auto-complete email addresses, but I have found no way to remove just one address from this list.
After you hit send, the email address is added to the custom dictionary, but removing it from the dictionary does not help.
For example, I have 2 email addresses:
And obviosly, this is annoying when you get the second one to auto-complete, when you want the first one.
Does anyone know how to remove individual entries for this auto-completion feature?
It's easier than you can imagine. Just start typing the incorrect spelling in the To: field. Once the menu of choices populates, use your keyboard arrow keys to highlight the incorrect spelling. Hit delete, and it's gone forever.1 more replies
When I open an email in my inbox it opens in a new window and when i close this window the email is gone from my inbox. is there anyway of fixing this so the email remains in the inbox after its opened. i've tried everything and looked through all the settings and stuff.
It sounds like you have it set to only show 'NEW' mail. When you open it, it is no longer new, and is removed from the view.
Search around the settings. I am unfamiliar with Outlook, but I know Lotus Notes has a similar function.
I would like to know how I delete a outlook email account because it has been compromised

Select More security settings:
If prompted for password, enter it. Browse to bottom of the page, select Close my account:
Be sure to read everything on next page before clicking Next:
Follow the rest of on-screen instructions to close your account.

I need your help this time for Microsoft Outlook 2007 Email. Yes, it was working fine
for sometime, but now I find that when receiving incoming mail, that the system hangs
for about 5-10 seconds and no work could be done.
Infact, I tried to check this with Microsoft Support on the web site and found that they
have stated, that microsoft 2007 support for data files with .pst with max of 4 GB.
However, when I checked with my data file, I have got around 6.41 GB of data. Am
not sure whether this is causing for the hanging of the system at the time of receiving

or shed some light to this. Give below the site from where I got the details.
" You may experience performance problems when you are working with items in a large .pst file or in a large .ost file in Outlook 2007
Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 momentarily stops responding during typical operations. This includes when you read e-mail messages, move e-mail messages, or delete e-mail messages.
These symptoms are most noticeable during mail delivery or during synchronization. These symptoms become more pronounced as store size increases. They are more likely to occur when the size of the .pst file or the size of the .ost file approaches 2 gigabytes (GB). Additionally, they are more pronounced in a very large .pst file or in a very large .ost file that is 4 GB or larger.

I went into my Sent folder on Outlook Express and all but the past two days Sent email was gone!
My ISP does not cleanse email so I suspect that when I clicked OK when the message "To free up disk space, Outlook Express can compact mesages. This may take a few minutes" came on the screen it compressed imy Sent email and put it somewhere I can't find. All my deleted messages and inbox messages were untouched.
I keep my Sent mail because I sometimes need to go back and refer to a message I sent and I don't want to keep hard copy of every email.
Any ideas about what could have happened?

I started using Microsoft Office Outlook yesterday. I have setup the pop3 e-mail account and I was able to view and maintain my inbox with Outlook.
I logged in my calpolyonline email by webmail and all my emails in the inbox are gone. Did not know that using Outlook actually grabs all the email from the inbox.
I removed the email account from Outlook and the email in my calpolyonline webmail is still zero.
How do I retrieve all the emails back into the webmail? Thanks in advance.
once Outlook retrieves the email, it is delivered to you (mail has been deleted from the email serve once you recieve it)
The only thing I can suggest is resend it to yourself.

Hello and Welcome to TSF
You didnt give much information to go off of, see if How to manage .pst files in Outlook 2002 and in Outlook 2003 works
My computer crashed recently (don't ask...) so, after reformatting and starting over, I reinstalled Microsoft office. I had saved my outlook contacts, emails and calendar into .pst files before reformatting. I imported the contacts and calendar, but the emails will not import nor will the archived emails.
Can any one give me any ideas?
Have you tried adding the backup PST files as secondary data files. Once you do this you can view them and move the emails over to the new PST file.
To add the backup PSTs, go to the Tools menu and choose 'Options'. When the setup screen opens, go to the 'Mail Setup' tab and then click on 'Data Files'. Depending on your version, there should be an 'Add' button either on the right side of the setup screen or on the top. Click 'Add' and navigate to where you have stored your backup PSTs. Choose the PST with your previous email. After you have added the data file (PST), close the setup menus and check your folder list. You should see a new "Personal Folders" added to the bottom of the folder view list. Expand it and you should see your old emails. You can then highlight and drag them to your new Inbox.
Hope this helps you retrieve your email.
For years I have used Microsoft Office but never used the Outlook part for emails. With Live Mail on its way out I thought that I would try it out. I have set up my accounts and can send and receive with no problems and it is slowly populating all the various Received/Sent/Deleted sections.
I have loads of contacts in the Contacts section but what I have yet to figure out is how to get the To: box to autocomplete the email address as I start to type in the recipients name. I am finding that I have to look up the email address and get that inserted. I am sure that there must be an auto complete but I have yet to find it.
All suggestions gratefully received.
As far as I'm aware, there is no auto complete function on Outlook. Then again, I might be totally wrong. Terribly sorry that I can't be much more help.1 more replies

My daughter decided to send a large amount of photos from my email to her email, there are approx 20 attachments totaling 31mb. i know from previous experience that this is far too many attachments to send in one go hence the email has been sitting in my outbox for the best part of 24 hours.
I have tried to delete the email by right clicking on it and selecting delete but nothing happens and when i try to open it, it says " cant open this item. Outlook has already begun transmitting this message"

it again, see if you can delete the outbox contents.
After you finish, be sure to uncheck Work Offline again.

Place Outlook 2003 in Work Offline mode:

Then close Outlook, allow the process to terminate ( a few seconds) then restart Outlook.

Let us know if that works for you or not.
This appears to have started since I downloaded and installed MSM Messinger.

Microsoft is betting that a new simplified interface and a name change will improve its Web-based email fortunes. Though it's still in the lead worldwide, according to the latest number from comScore, the company's Hotmail service has steadily been losing ground to Google's Gmail.

Well, it looks alright. Unfortunately, for those of us who left years ago, and now have everything registered to our [email protected] account...it's too much work to change again. Plus, I've registered a domain name through Google, my wife and I have a Google Apps account and we have a shared family calendar that we use between our computers and smartphones. Unforunately, for MS, I'm tied to Google for the forseeable future.2 more replies

I use Microsoft Outlook for email. Just finished installing a new hard drive. Can somebody please tell me the name of the folder/folders where I can find all my email files and folders on my old hard drive?? It was easy when I used Outlook Express years ago, but Outlook has them pretty well disguised. Thanks in advance

I need to set up my Win7 desktop so I can access it (and my home cloud) from the road with my Win7 Laptop. Should be pretty simple...except, the Remote Access Functions DO NOT APPEAR on the [System Properties] pop-up on the [Remote] Tab

Cannot fill in the form, if the form ain't there.
What version of Windows 7 is installed on your computer?
I am having trouble with Microsoft Outlook crashing, when I send an email to multiple addresses. I have reinstalled outlook and that does not solve the problem. Thanks for your help.
Check your Event Viewer Applications (under Windows logs in Windows 7), for Outlook error logs. Post the version of Outlook you are using, the operating system version you are using, along with Event ID number and whatever is in the Details tab in Event Viewer in your next post.
You can get to it through Control Panel>System (Vista and 7) or Control Panel>Performance in XP.
Unfortunately, we don't have enough information at this point to determine what the cause might be.
I have what I hope is a temporary need to change my default "from" email address.
I have changed it from say aaa to bbb using tools/email/change/emailaddress and also rest the "more settings/reply email facility so replies go to my new email address too
I have set the bbb as my default email account [using tools/email/set as default]
Here is the problem;
when I create "new" emails it correctly uses the new "bbb" email address as my from address.
All seems to be OK.
BUT IF I receive a reply to this email that I sent [that was sent out with my bbb email address] and THEN I try to REPLY to it - the reply email now shows at the top "this email will be sent via aaa" - rather than the bbb I want it too!].
I hope I have explained it clearly - and you can see the frustration of the outloook programme.
It is as though outlook simply refuses to recognise the new default email account I have set up!
Frustrating to say the least - any technical help appreciated.
By any chance do the bbb e-mail account settings in Outlook show your aaa address as a "Reply to" address? The entry can be found in "More settings ... -> General Tab" when the bbb account is open for editing.
I don't have any other suggestions other than that.
My computer system crashed and had to have a full re-install performed on it, and as such i lost all settings in Outlook Express 6.0
I am attempting to get the following settings back but need help because i cannot figure out how to do it.
Where: Above the message list (in btwn Folder Name and Identity Name on
grayed title bar).
What: A list of email accounts that could be selected from to send email as
merely by double clicking on that email account. (scrolling list box)
How: ?????????? Help!! ??????????
I have racked my brains looking through every option I could find, as well as Googled and visited Microsoft to no avail! If anyone can help me please shoot me an email @ [email protected] Thanks so much!
I have Windows 2000 and I have never been able to set up Outlook so it will check my emails. I periodically go through it and try different settings and when they don't work, I leave it for a few months and then when I am bored, I go back and try again. I decided that I need to go to the experts, so here I am.
I have an account on sbcglobal.net and netscape.net and I have info from sbcglobal on the settings, but not from netscape (so I just guessed). When I click on "test email accounts" it goes through the tests and they all check green except the last one which is "send test email" then I have a message that says it can find the email server but cannot make a connection and that I need to verify my port and SSL settings.
When I check them it shows 110 and 25 with the SSL boxes not checked. If I check the boxes, it shows 995 and 25 but will still not work.
Anybody have any other ideas about what to try here?

I'm trying to embed an image into the body of an email sent with Outlook Web Access. I know this is possible because I receive emails every week with images embedded. Or is it because they send the email through regular Outlook rather than Web Access?
Again, I'm using Outlook Web Access, not the regular one.

I can access my web mail, but if I try to send or reply to any messages, the body section of the mail doesn't show up to allow me to type the message. It just shows up as a red cross the same as if you havn't been able to load an image in IE. I am running IE7 on Vista.

Hi Jenny here,
I have a work email account with Microsoft Outlook Web Access.
I was wondering if it is possible to add that account to Microsoft Outlook 2007 on my homp computer. If so how does one do it?
Nope. Two different types of access. The company would have to provide POP or IMAP access, and I haven't seen that with corporate e-mail accounts.
I'm pretty sure this is in the wrong thread, but I could not see anything for Outlook, so if I should move it could mods please advise me.
I'm hoping someone may be able to advise me on how to trace the IP address of the sender of an email to my OWA account. I am accessing the account on both a MAC and Windows PC, the mail comes from a gmail account.
There seems to be lots of advise online about accessing IP when using the outlook software but not through a browser. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
IP Address Trace
Be aware, however, that Gmail is a web-based email service (ie not managed locally on a PC with an email client like Outlook) so tracing the IP address won't necessarily give you the IP of the sender. Which is exactly why the sender used that email service I expect.
My husband would like to access his outlook work email from a laptop while he travels. I know that through web access you can set something up. Can anyone tell me what information he would need in order to access his workemail through web access?

I recently received an email address for a job that I just started and wanted to set it up on my iPhone. That was a giant pain and I couldn't figure it out, so now I'm just trying to forward my emails to a different address that I CAN receive on my iPhone.
I was given a login address that goes through "Outlook Web Access" the URL is:
Once logged in, I've read that there is an option under "Rules" to set up email forwarding, but on my page there is no Rules tab.
I've attached a shot of my screen when I am logged in. Any ideas on proceeding?
You won't get any benefits of using Exchange such as having all mail folders sync'd across all devices, sync'd contacts, and a sync'd calendar if you just forward the email to another account and the company not want you to do that or even have a policy against doing so.
If your company has forked out the money for Exchange or Hosted Exchanged then I would suspect they want you to use it and would also have tech support to help you set it up. I'd contact them for assistance for setting it up, looks like it's hosted by Telus so it might be an option to contact Telus directly.
I have been reading and practicing and am on my way.
At the bottom of my email for, I want to choose one of three categories. 1. Email all current reservations [ResID], 2. Email reservation in a certain time frame, say Dec 9-24, or 3. Email a single reservation.
I have an Email Table, an Email form which I want to put thes option in the footer.
I have an organization table, a reservation table and form.
Any help is appreciated.

I am wondering how to send an email to a list of people in an Access database. The email should have a message in the body, as well as a Word attachment.
I know how to do this using a mail merge in Word where I can send the email using the Word doc as the email body message or attach this Word doc to the email, and I can select the recipients from an Access db. I want to be able to do both - have a message in the body of the email and attach a Word doc. I don't see an option to do this when doing a mail merge in Word using an access db.
Is there a way I can do this?
I am setting this up for a client, so that she can access her email via pop3 when she is away from the office. I can login to the server using the Outlook Web Access. But when I try to login using the same credentials in Outlook, it keeps coming up requesting the password. I used a different account to see if it was just the POP3 protocol and every thing seemed to work. So, I'm confused! I have done some research and cannot find anything that might case this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Case-sensitive password maybe? Check caps lock? Not sure if there are special settings server side that need to be applied for users to connect via-Outlook as opposed to Web Access..
I use Outlook Express for email and have run into a problem I haven't been able to fix. Now, seemingly out of the blue, when I open OE I'm asked to put in a user name and password and that has never happened before. The worst part is that the user name and passwords I have tried don't work, I can't access my Outlook Express email. Any suggestions? Obviously I am not that savy about this process so dumb it down please! And thanks!

I need to restore, copy, bring over, what ever you want to call it, but I need access to all of my personal folders and email that was left on my computer when I changed over to Windows 7. I successfully completed a Windows 7 Clean install after backing up my hard drive on to an external 250 gig flash (G). I also know and found that Windows 7 created a ?Windows old? file on my hard drive, that also houses my Outlook 2003 backup (As I use the PST Backup utility).
I thought I could just copy the outlook file, rename the file (OutlookXPEmail) and place it in the Windows 7 Outlook file. See attached. But what do I do now? I am still running Outlook 2003, the same program that I was using when I was running XP. Can anyone help me?

I recently intalled some updates to office and XP's SP2. I don't really know which update caused this to happen, but now whenever I go into my inbox to reply to an email that has been in the inbox for a while, it comes up with a little box that says that a program is trying to access email addresses that you stored in outlook. SDo you want to allow this? Then it has a check box to select how much time I would like to allow access for.
THe only problem is that if I have a file that I want to send and I use the right-click - send email option to send a file, when I compose the email and send it, since I never went thru the process of allowing access (as mentioned above) it doesn't send anything and I have to go thru the process again manually the long method.
Does anyone know what this is called by outlook so I can look up any help in customizing it's settings or if anyone has any links that explain it further. I just don't know what to look up for this topic.
I am using Outlook 2002 SP3 and the email editor that I am composing emails in is WORD.
This Exchange Online Book provides an overview of Exchange 2000, the Outlook Web Access architecture, and the individual components that make up Outlook Web Access. It also provides developers with the processes to customize and extend Outlook Web Access for their own solutions.

I have quite a usual situation at work. I am connected behind the TrendMicro IWSS Proxy server. The LAN at work has auto DHCP IP Address. I have to enter the proxy address in the internet explorer/firefox to enable browsing.
Checking my email account configured in Microsoft Outlook 2007 with simple POP3 and SMTP server addresses (with standard port numbers) behind a proxy server is always an unsolved mystery for me. Clicking the Send/Receive button it simply says Send/Receive error because it cannot contact the email server. However the same configuration works fine with a normal internet connection like my home DSL.
Why does it not work behind a proxy, what ports are disabled and how and what needs to be enabled. Does something needs to be adjusted on the client side or on the proxy server side. I read somewhere that with Microsoft ISA server you may need to enable port 443 (or something) to have Outlook check the email.
Can someone guide me with specific steps to be done to the TrendMicro IWSS Proxyin order to enable Outlook to return to its normal behavior of checking and sending the email.
Thanks a lot in advance for your assistance.
You need to allow port 110 on your proxy server
dont know how but all of a sudden my Outlook 2003 hangs up whenever i click the "send/recieve" button. It downloads my emails from the POP server at almost a byte/sec or lesser rate and eventually times itself out, giving me the following error:
Task 'pop6.physiology.wisc.edu - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)."
Further, the icon in the lower right corner of my Outlook 2003 window says that "Microsoft Office Outlook is synchronizing folders" and remains that way.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, Outlook, MS Office and also tried System restore (to various, system generated restore points). None of it has worked, further the system is not able to restore to any point. I should also mention that i have a Norton/Symantec firewall installed. i have tried disabling that but to no effect. I cannot access my work email from home modem router anymore using either Outlook or Webmail, unless I reboot. This happened 2 weeks ago after many years of fine work. It works using 3G or from other places. I haven't changed anything. I called my provider, PlusNet, and they said everything is fine on their side.
I suppose it is my TP-LINK modem router because I recover the access for a few minutes when I reboot it.
I am not very familiar with the technical points. I looked into my modem and didn't find any port filter activated. There is however one fault: ATM OAM End-to-end Ping fails. I don't know what it means.

I am trying to create a button on my form that when pressed will generate an email in Outlook with the addresses and subject filled in. I also want it to include the current record on the form as an attachment.
I have been able to do all of this, except include the CURRENT record. Everytime I click the button, it always attaches the first record. Here is how I set it up:
I have setup a macro (SendObject) to handle the emailing. In the form, I used the DoCmd.RunMacro function to call the macro. Is there a way to tell it to send whichever record is the current one instead of the first? Or is there a better way to accomplish this?

I recently ran a Norton scan. Perhaps coincidentally (or perhaps not), I suddenly cannot access Outlook 2007 for my email. Tells me to use Inbox repair tool scanpst.exe but it doesn't seem to download to install and run when I click on instructions. I did a google search to find out what it is, but I can't seem to do anything to make it work. The error message also said that if I need more information to see Help, except I don't even know where Help is when I don't have a screen connected with Outlook.
I just ran Norton Power Eraser and it said I have Bad Status with a risk called alsysio64.sys but a google search indicates that this is a legitimate thing. Why does Norton want me to remove it?
I am over 60 and basically computer illiterate. My husband was my computer geek, but he recently died and now my computer problems are stacking up... Can someone please help me with either of these problems?
Norton Power Eraser is kinda like a anti-rootkit program. Its very aggressive and sometimes can target seemingly harmless files.2 more replies
Using XP with IE8 with MSN browser. Outlook took over my Hotmail.com email account and I access it through Windows Live/Outlook Express without any problem. My free msn.com POP3 email account linked up initially and ran for weeks OK but then disappeared form my list of email accounts. Outlook Express still shows it as an alias account in the security info file but all attempts to access it again have been fruitless. This was my primary email account so there still a lot of important files in it I really want. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Can you access it at outlook.com? (your username is the full email address)
I have 2 email accounts that were configured in outlook and both worked fine. But outlook was slow to send and receive, not badly but enough that i sought a solution. I found something that suggested i delete a file in C:\Users\my name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook. I didn't delete it but saved it to desktop then restarted outlook. It then would not connect to the email server of one of my accounts, but the other worked fine still. So i replaced the file and still no joy. Deleted the non working account and tried to add it back but it couldn't find the server still so it couldn't configure it and i can't do it manually because i don't know te server settings and the email provider has no info on that. Then i uninstalled office and reinstalled. No joy trying to add the account, tho the working account was in there so it was stored somewhere on the PC and maybe if i knew i would find the other there too and could delete it and maybe that would help if something in it is corrupted. Uninstalled office again and looked to see if that folder at C:\Users\Dale\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook was still there and it was, so i deleted it and found the one in program files was there still too so deleted that. Then restarted and installed office again. Nothing. It just will not connect to the server.

I have a very nice database which allows me to run a community theater box office very efficiently (and for which I got incredible help from this group), including the generating of email for various purposes. I am now adding pay pal invoicing, and as a result have established a new email address specifically for dealing with pay pal. However, I do everything from my home computer so I would like to keep my personal email address as the default.
Right now, when I generate a theater email I have to manually select the theater email address as the account to use. I'm wondering if there is a way for me to set the email address from which to send in the vba.

i have an android phone and a computer running win7. i get my emails thru my phone and computer on outlook 2010. never any issues sending emails thru the phone but for some unknown reason some how certain email addresses instead of looking like [email protected] (normal format that works) they end up being "[email protected]" <[email protected]>.
when they are changed to the second format, the email just stays in the outbox for ever... when i noticed this was the problem, i retype aaaaaaall me email addresses.
slowly over time, they return to the format that gets outlook 2010 upset.

Would it be possible for you to give me some ideas of what the address could be, going by our Outlook Remote Access which is https://webmail.companyname.com. I'm trying to find out before I go back to work on Monday. Also, any other remote access sites that I can try.

I don't even know if I have this under the correct posting. I don't know if this is a security problem or suppose to be with Web & Email.
I am currently using a laptop with Windows Vista and IE 8. Now when I had IE7 there was not a problem but was using Win XP as well. Trying to access my work email from home. We use Microsoft Outlook Web Access provided by Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. I will log in fine but then it all goes down hill from there.
Lets say I have 3 emails. When I click on the sender it will show me the subject of the email. Once I double click on the subject, another window pops up and says that I have been logged out and need to log back in. Though the original screen is still open. I will log in and read the email. If I try to delete it, a pop up says I'm logged out and have to log back in. If I try to reply, I can type my message but if I try to send it, I am logged out and have to log back in. All the while the original screen is still open. I log in, I send and move on to the next person's email. Double click on the subject, have been logged out and have to log back in. This really gets annoying when you have 13+ emails a day.
Now I did ask my company's "IT Person" and he says "we are aware of the problem and it's a compatibility issue between IE 8 and Microsoft Outlook." No ideas as to how to "fix" the problem, nothing.
Now, there was one day that I had no problems getting this to wo... Read more

You can't use Windows Mail for that. Windows Mail is only good for checking POP3 and IMAP email accounts. To use an email client to connect to an Exchange server, you need a more robust email handler such as Microsoft Outlook, which is included in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

I have a third party management software that is capable of sending emails through Outlook. It grabs the addresses from Outlook. When I click the email integration, the following message appears: a program is trying to access email addresses you have stored in outlook. Then I will have to choose how many minutes of access are needed.
Are there tweaks to bypass this meesage and give full access to the address book? I've already found 3rd party warez, such as "Click Yes".
