Synchronization Cannot be Completed..

Q: Synchronization Cannot be Completed..

I did not get any replies so will try this again with updated info. Downloaded Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 October 2002 Update(EUU3) to computer but when tried to sync it to handheld got message: "Synchronization Cannot be Completed Successfully" and have not been able to sync since then. Same message and then disconnects. Have reinstalled Activesync twice..even going to older version. Have done disc cleanup and defrag. Have deleted recent programs including the EUU3. Also soft resert on handheld although problem developed in computer before could sync to there. There is no problem in connection of handheld with computer..just will not sync. Any help much appreciated as cannot download or sync any material to handheld(iPAQ3835) at all.
Thanks!!! John

I have an out of synch AVI file. They seem to gradually become more and more out of synch, so I know I have to change the frame rate. The audio ends at 6:53 and the video ends at 10:03. The original frame rate is 200fps How can it be in synch? (I have another AVI file, but we'll work on that one when the first one is done.)

A:AVI Synchronization

I've used VirtualDub to bring AVI's back into sync. But it's been so long I can't remember exactly how. And I don't have a PC handy at the moment. (on a Mac) If I remember right, it's under Video > Audio sync correction.

If the audio is off for a fixed length of time, Audio > interleaving > audio skew correction

If the audio gradually goes off more and more, Video > frame rate > source rate adjustments > change so that video and audio durations match.

Save as AVI.

There are plenty of guides for VirtualDub if you choose to try it.

Hope it helps.

Hello:

I run xp sp2 with ie6 on a dual core with 5 lcds with which I track the weather via website motion weather maps. I have the
start/programs/asseccories/synchronize
sent to desktop and then dragged to the quick launch for refreshing my maps.

Every once in a while I just click on the synchronize icon.

I have just installed ie7 and then ie8 and both of them have a different
routine when I click on the synchronize icon. It now brings up "items to synchronize"
which doesn't list and of my web addresses for maps.

I have searched the web but have not found anything on this. I can still
right click on desktop and properties/desktop/web to get to the refresh but it is a pain.

I can not seem to drag and drop or type in any links to "items to.

A new feature I could do without. How do I get around this or use "items to
synchronize" for website motion pics?

Thanks

So I put a computer in my car,
it has a Wireless LAN
When i start it up, it automatically runs an xp sychronization to my home computer (music, movies; and then online sites) over my wireless lan.
Then my media player automatically starts up,
I drive away from my house,
It loses the network connection.

Now, all the sudden, the computer has to take about 6 or so minutes to realize that its not going to get the network back. During this time MMy media player can't find any of the files because it is still looking over the network.

Eventually i get the message:
You are no longer connected to "computer name" you may now continue working offline.

After that, The MEdia Player finds the synchronized files and everything is good.

The computer basically relizes that I have lost that connection, disconnects, and then resorts to the files that have been synchronized as opposed to looking on the network. But i don't want to wait 5 minutes before it switches over to my files. In fact, i would prefer that it never even look across the network (except for during the actual synchronization)

How can i fix this?

edit: I tried unchecking - reconnect at login,
but it connects during synchronization anyway,
I need it to disconnect immediatley after synchronization.

WinMe OS My briefcase has become synchronized accidently and since I do not have a laptop the items in the briefcase are lined up the left side of my computer screen. In trying to correct this, I now have the whole contents of my desk top lined up on the left also. These items are underneath my current screen saver, but a click of the mouse can make them appear. In other words my active desk top and briefcase are duplicated. Can someone tell me how to "unsynchronize" these items. Help always tells me how to do something, but not how to correct an error. Any help will be appreciated.

I have two folders on my computer that I want synchronized. If I edit a file in one folder, so should the other folder be updated. Is there a application for this? Or is it something that can be changed in the registry for the location of the saved files (look down)?

Why? Well I have two accounts to my sisters who play much The Sims 2. You, who has played knows that each account has it's own saved files. But now they want to see each others "sims" when they play, ie use the same saved data.

Hi Everyone

What is the best synchronization software? if you want to know the answer to this question keep reading. There are many different types of synchronization software most of them differ slightly from one to another to suite the needs for different clients. You need to find which one is right for you.

Below is a spreadsheet table of some well known synchronization applications and what they offer use this table to find and application that is right for you. I have listed products from the left to right in my opinion of the best software due to features compatibility and price.

Additional points:
Dmailer Sync is my preferred application because I found it to offer the most features and it is at a good price. But it is designed for people who want to take their computer with them not for people who want to synchronize 2 computers. If you travel or use multiple computers I recommend Dmailer Sync.

MigoSync:
Similar to Dmailer Sync. It is also the nicest looking and easiest to use application I have tested.

BeinSync:
Is more expensive and the payment is yearly because there service is in fact on line which could be very handy. You wont have to worry about carrying around a usb key or worry about loosing it.

AllwaySync:
Has a lot less features but it is free for home use! It also is a very good sync application if you want to keep a directory the same on multiple computers then this is the best application for you.

I encourage anyone who has any further comments... Read more

there is MS free version called "sync toy" which can apparently sync large number of files (not just pics) between two devices (ie. two ext hd's)

I have seen that this may not be the best way to sync the drives, but am open to suggestions.

anyone have experience with this program or others,,,

A:file synchronization

A nice free program is FreeCommander. Latest version is 2009.02 It's a file manager app, but it has a nice simple folder sync feature. You hit a button to compare the 2 active folders. After you hit the Sync button it shows what will be copied where before you confirm. Optional recursive folder inclusion. For small numbers of folders it's quick and simple. For complex syncs you might want to use something more sophisticated.

I sync a few important folders, then for everything else I just do an image backup of the whole shootin' match. Depends how you want to approach backups.

It's free so check it out. Also it has its own support forum if you can't figure out some feature.

FreeCommander - freeware file manager
edit: btw I think I've been using FreeCommander since Win98. Works on everything from 98 to XP, Vista 32 and 64 bit and I use it on Windows7 7077. It's pretty reliable.

Hello, and Thanks for looking at my problem;

I removed malware last week (guided by an expert from this website using Combofix) and now I can't update/synchronize my clock with any of the time servers that I had before: time.windows.com, time.nist.gov, etc.

Seems like some settings got changed, and the server is not contacted (computer icons in taskbar aren't lighting up.) Have checked the firewall settings on my antivirus, Spybot, etc. and they do not seem to be the issue: Windows Time Service Diagnostic Tool is set for Outbound (client); Internet Time Synchronization is set on Enable.

In services.msc, Windows Time is started and in Automatic mode.

I realize this isn't a major isssue, but any advice you may have would be most appreciated.

I had a friend send me an email that said, "I can't open this email you sent me." I never sent an email to them. The subject line was
#NET Folder# Snchronization.

What is that? Do I have a virus. I scan each day.

A:#NET FOLDERS#: Synchronization

It's likely someone in his/her address book is the source. Not to mention lousy spellers

Update your anti-virus definitions, run a full scan and suggest your friend do the same. If you're still not convinced, run an online virus scan:

http://www.freedom.net/viruscenter/onlineviruscheck.html?product=anti-virus

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm

See if your friend can find the source of the email and have him report it to his/her ISP.

Here's how to view the Email header data:

Eudora, double click the message. Then click the blah blah button.

Microsoft Outlook, double click the e-mail. Click View/Options.

Microsoft Outlook Express, click the e-mail. Click File/Properties and select the details tab.

Netscape, click the message to open it. Then click View/Message/Source

Have him/her cut and paste that, email to his/her ISP abuse team.

I am looking for a way to synchronize my 60 plus WIN XP machines to one of my domain controllers running WIN SERVER 03. Can anybody give me some options to try. I am hoping for something like a log in script.

A:Time Synchronization

Don't know how you would do that but I have installed Dimension 4 and my clock is alway right on my PC.
I have it so it loads at startup and then gets the right time set and then closes down because I don't need it going out and checking over and over all day. But there are option in how you set it up.

http://www.thinkman.com/dimension4/index.htm

Simply put, Dimension 4 v5.0 is the fastest and easiest way to synchronize your PC's clock for Windows-based operating systems. Once Dimension 4 is installed, you'll most likely forget that it's even running. It's that automatic.

Dimension 4 will monitor your Internet connection and automatically adjust your PC's clock when you're online at an interval you specify. Click to expand...

And best of all, it's just been re-released for it's 8 year anniversary with all new features, including Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 support.

So maybe this will work because it says Windows Server 2003 support.

Hi All,

We are in need of a way to sync fonts between 5/6 Windows 7 machines. Does anyone have any ideas on how we can accomplish this? We want our base fonts to be updated dynamically (without the user having to update it) anytime we add one font to one machine, so that they all receive the updated/new font.

We have tried a few 3rd party programs but none seemed to do the task that we need. We have also tried a series of batch files but those required us to reduce security settings and take ownership of the font folder (which seems a bit risky as well), edit the registry and in the end, didn't work correctly.

This task seems like such a simple thing, but we are at a loss as to what would work at this point.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Dear All,

I have a number of computers on a LAN, I want all the computers on the LAN to obtain the Date & Time from a specific computer on the LAN (Note: they are not on the same domain), I tried the following command:
>net time /setsntp:name_of_ntp_server
but the problem when I change the time the central computer(time server) after performing the command the clients dont resynch automatically. I've been through an article that says the performed command allows the computers to synch every 8 hours, which is a very long time.

I was wondering if I can specify a time interval (e.g 30 minutes) or a certain time of the day for all the computer to synchroinze together.

With XP you can of course set Time Syncronization from the Date and Time Properties. I added some stuff to my registry so that it lets me chose more Time Servers to sync from. I also changed the value in the registry for when it Time Syncs.

you could also use a third party utility to sync the computers with. I use to use Atomic Time Sync from AnaologX

I'm interested in an add-on or plug-in for Internet Explorer 7 that will allow me to synchronize bookmarks when using IE on different computers. If I was using the "browser that dares not speak its name" (a reference to Oscar Wilde's famous line) this would be trivial. I've looked at the site generated when one chooses IE's Tools > Manage Add-ons menu selection but I don't think those programs are what I'm looking for. This seems to be a mystery in the IE world. Now if I have to believe that IE doesn't have synchronization or that I've made a mistake, I'll go with I've made a mistake. But the problem has defied me.

Hey all,

I already own a very old Packard Bell - Very slow.

I intend to use my Laptop as follows:

@ Work/Travelling: Basic internet acces and word processing (minute taking)

@ Home: As my PC's monitor etc.

I wish to synchronise the two computer's hard drives, so i can store all my files onto my PC.

How do i go about doing this?

And are there any wires etc i will need to purchase to do this?

Thanks,
DK444

A:PC <> Laptop synchronization

Tricky to very tricky on an old Toshiba satellite. Easiest way is to copy the files to a USB flash drive that will work on USB 1.1, copy the files, then reload them to the desktop. Methinks you will have lots of difficulties reliably doing a synchronization. The Packard Bell is one of the poorest, most difficult computers ever made when it comes to doing anything special.
If you don't have USB slots, use a Zip drive.

What is a synchronization and reset?

A:synchronization and reset?

You didn't ask them...?

I can't really find anything on Google to answer your Q...except that it seems to be nothing more than a restart of all network equipment and re-negotiation of all the connection details - kinda what you do when you cycle your modem/router off and back on.

I've had NAS backup for all my personal files (documents, pictures, etc.) for quite some time now. I've upgraded my hardware a few times......but always maintaining my backup. I use the MS 'briefcase' utility (located in a 2nd harddrive, where I keep all my personal files), in synchronization with a Linksys NAS unit, to provide this backup.
However, ever since I started backing up, when updating the "sync" files, I would get a "these files are orphans", or words to that effect, on (thankfully very few) occasions. It simply meant that I was no longer synchronized, and launched me on the very time-comsuming chore of re-copying and re-synchronizing my files. It takes a long time for me to get it back to synchronization. Here's my 2 questions: 1) what causes this loss of synchronization 2) is there any way to avoid it??

I have this case scenario: there is a table that contains images with names.

In a combo box, while browsing the list, I should be able to display the images from the table (without any need to actually select the option from the list, just by browsing it).

Should I create a lookup table with just the names of the images, so I can synchronize the browse on the list and the image display next to the combo box?

Or should I try to create a combo box directly linked to the images' table?

I think the first approach is better, now the problem would be how to make the images display next to the combo box, without selecting them.

I understand the On Change event will help me on this.

Ideas? Suggestions? All welcome

I have been reading through some of the threads on this subject and please indulge my ignorance or more appropriately my apprehension of losing data.

We have started a small business and for those of you that have done this you know how tight resources can be at times so I am trying to do things on the cheap for now. We currently have 4 computers, three of which are 7 and the other is XP Pro. This latter does not have to be in the mix.

We have a collection of approximately 35 folders (with sub-folders therein) I need the files in all of these to be the same. This whole synchronization thing scares me as I don't want to lose data. Some people are saying you can do it in Windows 7 natively while others are saying you need a third party application. So here I am to ask the experts on what I have to say is probably the best Win7 forum I have come across so far.

Out of these three computers one is a laptop not that that should matter but the way they came from the computer store the drive letters will not be the same but the folder names will be identical. Is there an easy and fool proof way of doing this. If I have to buck up for some third party software I am ok with that but my preference would be not to at this time.

I have some general questions about this whole process so please bear with me.
-If I delete a folder on one of the computers will it be deleted on all the others.
-If I change a file on one of them will it be overwritten on the others so that only... Read more

Hello Rattler,

You can use the sync center to sync your files, the link below shows you how. There is also synctoy 2.1 from Msoft in the next link below. I'm pretty sure that either of these methods would work for you.

There is also live sync beta.
http://explore.live.com/windows-live...esh-upgrade-ui

As for sharing an entire drive or drive letter. You need to set both the regular permissions on the drive and also the security settings need to be adjusted to share the drive also. It's a two part process with Windows 7 because sharing an entire drive is considered a security risk.

The proper settings will be obvious once you open those tabs up on the drive itself. Adding "Everyone" will allow everyone access to the drive.

To share the entire drive:
Open My Computer -> right click Local Disk D or which ever drive letter your drive is using -> select Properties -> select Security tab -> click Edit button -> click Add button -> enter the name of the User you want to set Security permissions (it is the same user name you've set the sharing permissions for, ex. Everyone will set the read permissions to every user. Put check marks in the boxes for full access and control -> click OK hit apply-> select the desired permissions -> click OK -> wait while permissions are set -> and your Done.

its happened before but i was able to find this one site that showed me how to do it from command line. but i forgot to bookmark the site cause i didn't think it would happen again. but i can't find it. and windows update and that windows live messenger won't work because the time isn't correct
*edit*

i fixed it. all i had to do was adjust the time to about the same time/date as it is now no need for the command line thing

Hi folks, I have just switched from XP to 7 Home Premium and I really like it, however I have a question regarding Time Synchronisation. With XP it always told you when it had last been synchronised, whether the synchronisation was successful or not and the next scheduled synchronisation. With Windows 7, there is no information. I was going to post this thread last night but tried the Update Now button on Internet Time Settings and the information appeared in Date and Time-> Internet Time, (Like it used to in XP), so decided not to post. I have just realised though that if you restart the computer later on, this information disappears. Is there any way to keep this information from disappearing? The only reason I ask is with XP, sometimes it would fail to synchronise, but at least it would inform me so I could try another Internet Time server or manual update. Does Windows 7 inform you if it fails to automatically synchronize? Thanks.

He is running XP (Home) and has neither downloaded or made other changes that could have brought about this development. Does anyone have any ideas? TIA.

ISSUE: Groove Synchronization

4 PC's: 3 Windows XP and 1 IMac

The problem is that the same user account in Groove has been logged onto from 4 different systems on a network and is

being accessed from a remote location and has been hosted onto a .net server which we are unable to identify and this

is practically being used to hack into the entire data from a friend's office ( approx 40 Gb) . As it is an inside

job they are using simple existent tools such as google drive and dropbox to insert and download new programs or

files and accessing the system through remote access such as teamviewer. we don't even have a user name or workspace

identification.

Kindly advise on how to track the running of the program what all it is synchronizing and where it is storing the

data.

Eagerly awaiting a reply to move ahead and track the stolen data (Which is still on his systems but being backed up

on the local host server) as it is mostly of a personal nature such as all his business accounts, bank transactions

and customer Records. There is a deep concern.

Looking forward to an early reply, and thanking u in advance for the same.

A:ISSUE: Groove Synchronization

Hi there, welcome to the board!

I don't have Groove, so this may not be much help at all. I do have SharePoint Workspace though, which is based on Groove technology. In it you can set your account preferences, like identities, check accounts (i.e. remote computers), and things like security, alerts and synchronization. Have you checked out any of these options in Groove?

Here are some links which may prove helpful:

Controlling Network Access to the Groove Manager Web Site
How to Secure a Groove Manager Web Site
Configure and customize SharePoint Workspace 2010
Groove Learning Center

In the last link check out the "For Administrators" section.

Above all of this, it would seem to me that if it's that much of a security concern you would either disable or remove Groove altogether in this instance. Intellectual property theft is a pretty serious crime in most countries. At least in the US it is.

Hi, I'm new here but I've been spending the last few days reading your forums and searching for solutions for my problem which is:

I have a Desktop at home and a laptop which I use for work. I have a 1 TB Seagate external HDD to which I copy both my files from my PC and my Laptop. After going through your forums I still cannot decide what to do given my present predicament which is:
1. I need to synchronize my files on my PC, Laptop and External HDD so that changes I make either on my PC or Laptop is reflected across all three.
2. I cannot connect my Laptop to my PC as I do not know how to.
3. Both my machines are running Win XP Pro
4. My laptop is formatted as FAT 32 while my PC is NTFS. Ext HDD is FAT 32
5. I am using Acronis but only to image my PC.
6. After reading your forums I am left with a choice of either Syncback, Cobian Backup, Karens Replicator, EZBack-it-up and Allway Sync.

My question is :

1. Which would be the best strategy in my circumstances and which software would be most suitable to use?
2. Would I need to install the software on both my machimes for it to work ?

Would be mighty grateful for an answer coz I'm mighty frustrated with copying files everyday.

A:DivX - avi file out of synchronization

It sounds like WMP is the problem. Try a different media player like VLC(better choice) or Winamp. If the media player isn't the problem, you could try using VirtualDub.In VirtualDub, open (Ctrl+O) the .avi file and under Video, click on Direct stream copy. Under Audio, check Source audio and Direct stream copy. Then, in Audio select Interleaving (Ctrl+I). Enter an offset and press ok. Then under File, select Save as AVI... (F7) and save as a different name.

It then goes away after synchronization is complete and windows shuts down.

What is causing it to execute at shutdown?
Do I really need this?
How can I stop it?

For the past few months, ever since Microsoft had asked me if I want to "enable synchronization" - every hour or so, a dialog box pops up asking me "Do you wish to enable Microsoft Synchronization?" It is SUCH a major pain. Is there a way to disable it or to totally Remove that program? I have no idea WHAT the heck it is.

Rhetorical footnote
No need to respond to this, since I really should tackle one issue at a time.
I keep getting ever more tangled in a web. Another past [unresolved] issue is that when I try to open documents on my F: drive's zip disk that were created with WordPad, it displays: "cannot load Word for Windows 6.0 files". Inconsistently, some of my documents DO open, but others don't. Someone had advised me to download a similar program as Word, saying that might successfully open those files. But that was a huge download, and when I downloaded it thru the night, the next day the download had failed for some reason.

Also, every time I go thru the excruciating reinstall, the system remains slow. Of course, it may just be my Dialup or phone connection or 256 RAM. All I know, is that I keep remaining stuck, and never getting extracted, since I have problems ON TOP OF previously unresolved issues.

I have a user who has a laptop and desktop. He uses the same login for both machines. On the laptop he made the root of a network drive available offline, so it synchronized everything in the drive to his laptop.

Now, if he creates a new folder in the root of this drive on his laptop, it is automatically marked to be synchronized as well. This is fine.

But if he does the same thing on his desktop, it does not automatically set it up to be synchronized on the laptop. Everyone I have asked cannot tell me if it's supposed to be that way, or if there is an issue, but the user is convinced it is supposed to work automatically.

Any thoughts?

I need software to synchronize data between two computers in different locations.

The data consists of large numbers (1000s) of large image files (50-500Mb each), and for various reasons it needs to be carried back and forth on a hard drive.

Because the files are large, I would prefer not to have to carry all the files back and forth every time. Are there any file synch programs (preferably open source) that track which files are where in such a way that only new or changed files are copied back and forth? Can Retrospect do this?

I'm thinking of something that keeps a database of file names, dates, and checksums for both locations on the removable media...

Thanks.

Hi, welcome to TSG.

A good freeware program that would work well in this situation is SyncBack. It checks for changes in date and file size. You can also check MD5 checksum if you prefer.

I like the idea of the PC & phone notification sync feature in Win10, but in practice it hasn't work that great for me. I'm curious how others are doing.
Some examples:
I get Cortana reminders on both PC and 950XL at the same time, but snoozing one doesn't snooze the other.
A SofaScore notification that's dismissed on the PC stays visible on the phone.
I use WhatsApp desktop on the PC. I can be messaging using the PC version for a while, and then half a minute later, I get a bunch of past messages one by one in the PC action center, each late message making its own sound. I wish the WhatsApp message sync could be disabled while the PC version is running. The action center messages are also only FYI, since you can't reply from there.
Is anyone having better luck with it?

Hi. A little over a week ago, my system suffered a major virus (the XO Security 2012) and I had to use a paid phone service to get rid of it. The technician did one of the "log me in" sessions and made some adjustments to my system in addition to getting rid of the virus. While the virus is gone, the process unfortunately seemed to create a new problems that I had never experienced before. One such problem involves the Windows clock. Whenever I click on "Update Now" in the "Internet Time" tab, I get a message stating something like "An error occurred while Windows was synchronizing with windows.time.com. Sometimes I'll also get a message saying "the peer is unreachable." What's weird is that if I keep on doing it, eventually it will work. But it might take about 50 tries until one is successful. To me, that makes it even harder to explain. That is, it's not like the mechanism that synchronizes the time is completely "broken," or it wouldn't work at all. But it hardly ever works. Does anyone here have any idea what might be wrong, and, of course, how to fix it? Please let me know if so. Thanks!

A:Windows clock synchronization problem

Did the virus wipe out all of your restore points?

Are you sure you cleaned that machine of viruses? "the peer is unreachable"? I'd use TCP View to examine if the computer is trying to communicate with an IP outside of the USA.

Check to see if all of the services are set to default (auto, manual or off) if you have another healthy XP system to compare to. Right click My Computer > Manage > Services

Also perhaps try running "sfc /scannow" from the command prompt.

OK at work we are setting each user's workstation to use offline files and synchronize at log off for user's My Documents. I am wanting to make sure this is the correct way to set it up. The following shows how the offline files are configured now:
1. On the user's workstation I go to My Computer\Tools\Folder Options and I enable Offline Files and set them to sync at log off. Now, we have each user's My Documents, which is located on their desktop, set to point to a back up server on the network- example: \\backupserver\users\users name. So actually their My Docs are on a shared network drive that we want to make available offline.
2. I right click on the user's My Documents, which is on their desktop pointed to their folder on the back up server, and select Make Available Offline. After the synchronization is through then it shows blue sync arrows. I make the users my docs folder available online, i don't right click and make their folder available offline from the shared network, I figure if their my docs on the desktop are pointing to that shared drive that by making their my docs folder available offline that is right. Hello everyone,

Its a friends problem so i dont know all the details very well.

The problem is that for every website, you need to reload 1 to 10 times until it enters. either it says about some problem or it takes for ever. Torrents and skype seem to be working fine with at full speed.

The above is after disabling the antivirus. Before disabling it was almost impossible to browse, with extra slow speeds and having to click reload for minutes...

The line they say works fine and on other computers too. I had checked with a linux cd and it had the same problems. Also the latest drivers are installed. I can check again, and need to get my laptop there once to see.

For me it seems like a synchronization issue. Any ideas on how to further check? or to solve

Thank you

Hello thahgr, and welcome to Sevenforums!

First off, please explain further (if you can) why you believe it to be a syncronization issue. What reasons are there for this? This info may help a great deal!

What antivirus are you using? Based on your answer, I can give recommendations based on other users' experience with and problems because of certain antivirus software. I will provide an unbiased opinion and simply state what I've found to be true through personal experience. Do not forget this step! It is very important that you let me know this information. If you skip anything, please let me know so that I do not assume that you've completed all steps.

Try some of these troubleshooting steps: Internet Troubleshooting Guide

If ALL of that tutorial doesn't work, then 1.) try installing an uninstaller utility (for the simple fact that windows uninstaller often leaves items behind) such as Revo Uninstaller Free. Use this program to 2.) uninstall the wireless driver (AFTER you've installed the wireless driver), and then 3.) attempt to install the newest driver once more using the "advanced" method. REMEMBER! Create a system restore before you attempt to use Revo Uninstaller Free, just in case you remove something you shouldn't!

Failing that, Do steps 1.) & 2.) in the previous paragraph, but for step # 3.), install a slightly older driver instead of the most recent, as (at times) bugs in the most up to date wireless driver cause a slower internet connec... Read more

Hi all,

I need to get some software that offers two way file synchronization for the same folder on two different servers/pcs on a lan. GoToMyPc does it but I prefer to do this over a lan vs the internet.

Thanks!!

I never noticed that "Microsoft Feeds Synchronization" until a few days ago, after I upgraded to IE8 (RC1). I went to internet options, clicked on contents...then found it in settings, but is it important? How come I never needed or it never came up before now?

A:What Is...microsoft Feeds Synchronization? And How Important Is It?

Here you go:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(file_format)

It's not a question of importance, it's more about usefulness. I use them in my sidebar and Outlook to check on articles and forum posts from various sites, including Tech Support Forum and various News agency websites. I find them handy but they're not suited for everyone.

Hello bleepingcomputer geniuses, I come to you with another question of mine.
I want to synchronize different files on my external HD to sync up with different files on my laptops HD so whenever my external is plugged in it will automatically update with anything new that is added on my laptop (example: music folder on external will stay updated with what is on my laptop). However, I don't want my laptop to get updated with files that are on my external HD as I have files on my external HD that I do not need cluttering up the smaller space on my laptops HD. I am using windows 7 Professional.

A:Tricky file synchronization problem.

Does anyone have any sort of idea?

Is there any good laptop sync programs for Windows XP out there?

What I'm looking for is some super-intuitive, all-inclusive, rediculously-ultimate program for keeping my files, emails and settings the same on my laptop as they are on my desktop.

Features that would be useful is outlook email archive merging, an intelligent file copier, designed to work via network using XP and of course, lots of confusing options.

Anyone have any suggestions? My searches have turned up very few programs, all of which I have not been satisifed with.

I am having minor issues with Windows 2000 profile synchronization. I enabled roaming profiles using Active Directory Users and Computers by specifying a profile path for each user in the domain. Some users have been complaining, however, that when they delete items from their desktops or My Documents, they reappear after they've logged out and logged back on again. I had recently experienced the same problem at our office, but it only happened to me once so I never pursued it.

The system in question is comprised of five servers, all with Windows 2000 SP2 and Active Directory configured. There's a primary domain controller, an Exchange server, a backup server that does nothing but backup data on the domain to a DAT library, a database server based on a third-party engine (does not interface with Active Directory in any way, uses proprietary log on), a proxy server and an IIS server. The PDC also has DHCP and DNS configured.

My question is this: Why are files synchronizing back from their user profile after they've deleted those files? And, is there any way to disable synchronization so that users only pull files from their user profile path?

If I haven't provided enough information, let me know, and thanks in advance.
