I recently upgrade my M.2 SSD from 256GB to 512GB. But, as upgrading I have to remove the anti-static wrist strap(rubber feet) from the bottom of notebook. I try to find any information about that on the net, but looks like there is nothing I can do. So is there any option that I can get four exact anti-static wrist strap?

So I bought my IdeaPad Flex 15 last summer. One of the rubber back feet came off, and I can't find it. Ergo, of course, I"d like to buy a replacement. I chatted with Lenovo and they could not find one. I did find a thread earlier that asked this (not sure of front or back rubber feet) and they did not get a response. I have read on this board that other models have some kind of parts kit that costs $54 and includes two feet. While I'd much prefer to buy just the feet, I can see how Lenovo can consider this to not be economical. Ergo, I'll pay for such a kit if I am sure that it works for my laptop. HELP! Any pointers here are much appreciated! And I do realize how important these feet are: without them there is no air circulation to the vents on the bottom. Methinks my laptop is better off not overheating, though YMMV.

I've searched tirelessly to try and find replacement rubber feet for my HP Spectre 13t-3000 (model - E5J34AV) and can't find anything. I'm constantly being looped through detect your system pages and not able to find anyway to contact support. I have no idea if i'm under warranty as the detect system function  always fails. Can someone please help? I'm having a truely horrific experience trying to figure out this website and if HP support actually exists. Liam

I've been getting the dreaded blue screen of death with the memory management error for a while now and knowing the RAM is soldered on I figured there was nothing I could do about it, shutting the computer off once a day seemed to help but if I'm using it for a full day then it crashes. Today I had a new one which was the BSoD and the pfn_list_corrupt error so I ran the memory diagnostic and it came back with a hardware problem with the memory, now I suspected that this was the issue with the memory management errors but now this seems to confirm it. So what are my options, just put up with it? It seems there's no real fix but aside from the annoyance of crashes and restarts which for now I can just about live with, is this going to ultimately kill my yoga or not? This along with the wifi problem (thankfully switching that out fixed it) pretty much means this will be the last lenovo product in this household. If I can get another year out of it then I won't feel quite as bad about buying it....BTW is the Pro short for problematic?

A:RAM replacement or fix for a Yoga 2 Pro?

Hi, No one should have to put up with a computer that is not working correctly. If your computer is in warranty do activate it.If not, and assuming the cause is a bad memory chip, you could explore a really invase alternative that is to replace the memory chips. This will requisite advanced eletronics knowledg, a BGA soldering station and new chips. AS you can guess this will not be easy and should be done by a professional. Or you could ask Lenovo for a repair quote. If everything else fails, new computer  Are your shure it's a hardware memory problem? Have you tried restoring to a factory image? Tried playing around with drivers?

Hi, I bought a Yoga 900 i7 16Gb 512Gb in the US because it was a lot cheaper than at home (About $500!!) However I forgot that the keyboard layout would be different. Can I change the keyboard (I've done it before) and where can I get the replacement part short of buying an accident damaged one? I'm after a Swiss keyboard. If you know the part number that would be helpful. Many thanks. Jon

I used my Yoga 13 on my lap. When i repositioned it, one of the keys came off (the 'N'-key). A very small piece of plastic broke of the keycap.I've searched online for replacement keys, but there are no replacement keys available yet. Does anyone know if the keys from the Yoga are shared with other (Lenovo) laptops or how i can get a replacment 'N' key?

Hi Folks,  I was a bit of dumbass over the summer and spilled a small amount of whiskey on my system and killed the keyboard; Not a huge deal as I usually leave the system hooked up to my tv and use a remote keyboard, and when I use it mobile, I can use the onscreen keyboard, although this last is a bit of a pain..  I've tried contacting encompass but they don't seem to sell replacement keyboards; does anyone happen to know where else actually sells replacement keyboards. Biggest problem seems to be that it's a standard Canadian/Bilingual keyboard. I'm able to find US keyboard replacements, but the layout is different so won't fit with the current top plate, and I'd much rather avoid have to replace the whole thing (20$ keyboard vs something like $160 for keyboard and top plate....)  Any help would be appreciated, but if I cant actually find something that should be a relatively easy part to replace, this will be my last Lenovo item unfortunately.Steph S.

Dear forum members,  I bought a Yoga 900 () from Best buy. It has international warranty. During my recent visit to India, for unknown reason, the laptop started behaving wierdly. It used to shut down when plugged in to the power source and would run fine when not plugged in. Since it has international warranty, I took it to the service center in India and got to know that the motherboard needs to be replaced. But they dont have the same motherboard as the architecture Lenovo uses in India is different than the states.  Since I am not returning to US for next few months (traveling to Europe), I would want to get it fixed in India.  The result is that they are ready to replace the motherboard with the Indian variant however, it has 8GB RAM instead of 16GB RAM I had on the original motherboard.  Now, the question is: should I go for this replacement? If yes then what would be the impact of the downgrade of RAM? And finally, would it affect any other parts in the laptop (possible compatibility issues)? Any suggestions / comments are welcome! -AJ

My keyboard has taken quite a spill and some of the keys are very stick/stiff to press down on. I'd like to completely replace the keyboard. How do I do this? I know with most laptops you simply pop the little tabs around the perimeter of the keyboard but with this model the entire keyboard face is like one big piece. Must I disassemble the entire laptop from the bottom? Or is there a way to pop off just the top of the keyboard?

I know that the Yoga 2 Pro comes with the Intel 7260 n card, but was wondering if it's possible to replace with the Intel 7260 ac card. It seems like an easy swap, but don't know if the exisiting antenna will work with 5 GHz. Thanks! -Pete

Antennas don't care if it's receiving or trasmitting 5 GHz band. You can upgrade with the 7260 AC without functionality loss at all.

I bought a Yoga 2 Pro laptop in February 2014 (so it's out of warranty) -- Core i5 with 8GB of RAM. Unfortunately, 2 days ago it randomly turned off (with the keyboard backlight and power button LED flashing about every 3 seconds).  I've been able to turn it back on twice, but the problem still persists. From looking around this forum, the problem is likely faulty RAM, which means a motherboard replacement is in order.I am unable to find the exact same motherboard for sale online, but I found the Core i7 with 8GB RAM version. Are the two motherboards interchangeable?  Has anyone successfully done this? Thanks in advance!

Despite lack of an answer, I went ahead and bought the i7 version.  I can confirm the two are indeed interchangeable. So, if you're looking to upgrade your existing Yoga 2 pro, it can be done via a motherboard replacement (though not exactly cheaply). My laptop now works again (knock on wood that it won't start acting up again).  However I can't say that I've been impressed with its quality so far  Forgot to mention: taking my laptop apart and putting it back together again fixed a minor screen alignment issue (screen was not 100% aligned with base when closed).  It always bugged me (though not enough to RMA), and I'm not sure why it shipped out new from the factory like that but I'm glad I was able to fix this as well.

I need to replace my motherboard on the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro.  If the part number is 90004988, can I just buy and use this part number 90004988 in my laptop or is there something else that I need to consider. I checked the part number via part look in Lenovo for my laptop. Model:  20266P/N:  59386391

I would suggest opening the machine and looking for a part number on your old board.  The parts list shows 17 choices for Yoga 2 pro.  The part number you list is described as 8GB, with a win8 std license and an i7 processor.  If you previously updated to windows 10, you may have activation problems, depending on whether the replacement board was also ever upgraded.

Hello, On my 1st gen Thinkpad Yoga 14 (20DM000VUS) running Windows 10 (64-bit) I, like many other people here, hated the "new" clickpad compared to the classic trackpad. I've followed this thread pretty carefully: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Switch-ThinkPad-Yoga-Clickpad-with-new-... And decided to do it for myself. Hardware-wise, switching it out was a breeze. But since that thread really deals with the Yoga 11, the driver modifications haven't worked for me. I was able to get the classic clickpad to work (buttons and all) using the generic Synaptics driver pack available on their site, but in doing so it ruins the Lenovo tweaks, specifically the conversion to tablet mode. When I go into tablet mode, it will no longer automatically switch into tablet mode, rotate in tablet mode (after manually turning it on), or the biggest problem, disable the trackpad when in tablet mode. Has anyone been able to sucessfully make this switch or could someone help me try to make this work the way it should? I would really appreciate it!

A:Yoga 14 (1st gen) Clickpad/Trackpad Replacement

Hi. I have a TP Yoga 14 - 20DM008UUS. It came originally with the "Touchpad with clickable buttons" and all works correctly with you switch to tablet mode, tent mode, etc.  But mine does not uses a Synaptics touchpad, it is an ALPs one.  Can you share the FRU of the new Touchpad (Keyboard?) you installed on you TP 14 (1st gen) ? Did you check other model "Maintenance manual" to find the FRU? It can be interesting if you can try the drivers of the touchpad of the machine model from where you took the FRU. This is a very interesting MOD for your TP 14, it can be nice if you can also post pictures of you work !! Regards

Hello All, I have an issue with my YOGA 700 laptop when logged in multiple accounts simultaneously. Whenever an account is left logged on and the user is switched as opposed to logging off, the cpu usage ramps up very high with several RUNDLL32 processes being the culprit. I have checked the RUNDLL32 processes with Process Explorer and the command line are as follows:C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\EnableAutoRotation.dll,RunCustomMonitor The directory is as follows: C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\ The only solution I have found is restarting the laptop. The problems comes back when again more than one user is logged in. Also, the rundll32 processes only run high cpu on one account at a time and there doesn't seem to be a preference for a specific account, all of them are plagued one at a time with the problem. Disabling the Yoga Mode Control service is a fix but that breaks the mode control which is essential in this laptop. I have tried installing all the available software on the Software page foor the YOGA 700. The rundll32 processes drain the battery very fast and I can't always log off other users when they have apps open!  I have posted a screenshot of process explorer showing 2 rundll32.exe processes using 25% cpu usage each. However, sometimes up to 4 rundll32.exe processes open up and they use combined 100% cpu usage, which makes the laptop run very hot and slow. In t... Read more

I'm usually a pretty careful person but in my one rare clumsy moment, I managed to drop my Yoga 900 on the floor from maybe a height of less than a metre.  The screen is cracked starting from the top right hand corner and has a hairline fracture all the way to the bottom left corner. It still works, as in I can still see things on the screen, but I keep getting jumpy cursors and whatnot (expected of a cracked touch-enabled screen). So my question is: What am I suppose to do? I've called Lenovo Support and I've chatted with an Encompass technician, and although they were very nice, it didn't help because there doesn't seem to be a replacement screen available for purchase/repairs. I've only had this laptop for 5 months and it seems ludicrous to buy a new one already...... Edit: This is for the Yoga 900-13ISK.

Hey guys, I'm a PreMed student who's life revolves around his laptop. I'm always on social media, watching some show, listening to music, doing an essay, taking notes, updating some website, or emailing some person on campus. Of course, my old laptop broke. It was a Dell Inspiron. Now, I have a campus job and have been saving money(so money is not factor necessarily). After researching my options, I've narrowed my choices down to the three previously listed laptops. I just want to know which do you guys suggest and why?

A:Surface Book vs Lenovo Yoga 900 vs ThinkPad X1 Yoga

By looking at your requirement, you prefer on-the-go PC that lets you do all that on a decent budget, SP4 is better than SB(if you want lightweight device and decent battery life), Lenovo's are pretty good too. X1 w/o OLED seems to be a better buy in terms of ultraportability and battery life. You could wait for others to chime in.

Hi Everyone, I'm at my wits end and was hoping someone might be able to help me understand what exactly I need to do, purchase to bring my laptop back to life. Long story short, I have had this for just over 2 years, no more warranty and the hard drive I believe is going out/has gone out. It all started with a failed windows 10 upgrade, kept looping, finally I blew away I guess everything on it. Now when I am trying to re-instal windows 8.1 it tells me that it cannot because the hard disk may fail soon. I can get mostly through the windows setup but it always ends up failing. My question is, can someone help me identify what exactly needs to be replaced? I am fairly tech savy good at following directions and installing things by myself. (garbage disposals, haha). What I am not good at is trying to track down what hard drive to buy would be? I hate to bring it to best buy as its $200 just for a diagnosis and then whatever to fix it on top of that.  Can anyone offer insight and help me become enlightened? Thanks so much, L

Hi there, hopefully someone can help me. Back when my laptop was still under warranty, I complained to Lenovo about the many scratches I was getting on my screen from using their pen. I don't press hard when I draw, and I even bought replacement nibs just in case there was something sharp on the one I was using. Alas, nothing helped. This didn't happen on the last tablet Thinkpad (X61) I had! At the time, I couldn't afford to send my laptop in to get it repaired. I was in the middle of a VERY busy college year. But now, the scratches are so numerous, it's really affecting my ability to work on it. Is there a way to just... replace the matte finish? Looks like it's like a screen protector to me. Is that something I can purchase on my own, or would I nee to take my laptop to a repair place to get it put on correctly? I tried to see if I could take the thing off myself, but I can't even get my fingernail under a corner. I HOPE it's a screen protector of sorts, because there's no way I can afford replacing the entire screen.

I have two staff members with different Yoga models, but with the same pen issue. Say, for instance, OneNote is open. The pen doesn't draw or write, but it can select and still be recognized. When I try using an old stylus from an HP Elitebook, it works TOTALLY fine - even the button on the pen functions properly. This suddenly started after months of the Lenovo pens working fine. I thought maybe it was a driver issue, but it can't be as the HP pen works.... I'm thinking it's the pen itself just getting worn down? It looks okay though but may be just a little loose... The major differences I see, looking at: http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Lenovo_Yoga_900_13_inch are: the SK2 has Intel Iris HD 540 graphics, slightly different CPUs and PCIe SSDs.

Regarding driver updates, there's a feature in Lenovo Companion that assists with that.

Hope this helps clarify.
Regards.

So three weeks ago, I was working on my Yoga 3 14" and popped to get a drink, I came back and the screen was blank, I assumed it had gone to sleep, so hit a key to wake it up. Nothing! The laptop was plugged in, so I know it hadn't run out of charge. After sheer panic, I contacted Lenovo, who told me that my warranty was out by a month, and that I could send it to them to diagnose, and they would tell me how much to fix, then it was up to me if they did or not.One I wouldn't be happy about not having my laptop for a couple of weeks minimum, but also it had all my private information on.I turned to good old google, and stumbled across this forum, and somebody with the same problem.Their solution was to unscrew the back case of the laptop (as mentioned above, my warranty was already out), remove the battery cable, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and reconnect the battery cable.I did this, and low and behold it worked. Fantastic!Only for it to happen twice more that week, and approx twice a week since. Then yesterday my brother contacts me saying his laptop has died, just won't turn on. His is the Yoga 2 Pro, I told him to bring it to mine, and I would try what I had to do to mine, to his, low and behold, the same solution worked. Seeing as I wasn't the first person to have this issue, and I'm guessing others have used the solution but not commented, this is obviously a fault with the Yoga range. I'm hoping that Lenovo can address this issue, as I fe... Hello, we got 2x Try-and-Buy Lenovo Yoga Tablet Laptops (an X1 Yoga and a Yoga 260) to evaluate their suitability for our company, since we intend to upgrade several of our employees laptops. However, ever since we got the devices we noticed on both of them frequent issues with the display and waking from sleep. Very often the laptops won't wake up properly with the screen staying black. In those cases the display-backlight seems to turn on, and I assume the system is running somehow in the background. Putting the computer to sleep again (e.g. by closing the lid) makes the computer wake up properly on the second attempt. Different error in the same category is when a video is running and the laptop is connected to AC - plugging out the AC cord made the screen go black while the media content's sound kept playing. All drivers were updated to the newest version via Lenovo System Update 5.07.0029. Any ideas? I also tried to open a support ticket, but Lenovo wanted to send and install a new display (!). Apparently, that seems like a driver/software issue?! Best regards

Highest upgrade is a amd athlon 64 x2... cheapest route for me because I won't have to get new ram proc psu right away. Please correct me if I'm wrong or have a cheap way of building a gaming comp.

I don't have the part to look at, but the rubber feet are usually part of a base misc. part kit. For the Helix, the number is 04x0526

Several of our 2nd gen/20A7 carbons have lost their circular rubber feet on the bottom. All the units are less than a year old but Lenovo has told me that this wouldn't be covered under the warranty. Not a big deal, but I'm having an impossible time finding the feet to buy on my own. They aren't listed on any of Lenovo's part lists for the X1 and I've only seen feet for the X220/230 units on 3rd party sites. I'm hoping someone on the boards here is familiar with the part. Thanks

Lenovo did end up shipping me replacement feet under warranty, which was a very nice surprise. If anyone has a similar issue and runs across this thread, the part number for the replacement rubber feet kit is HT096. As of writing this I wasn't able to find any references to that number other than on the paperwork with the shipment, but it may just be a new PN.

From the specifications and price stated below, which one is more worthy and which is better in terms of what? Pros and Cons would be nice.3. I have seen some extreme reviews on both Yoga 710 and Yoga 900 regarding user's problem. Is there anything else I should know about these two models before consider buying it?4. I am hhaving difficulty finding an acceptable scaling mix between resolution, system scaling, and edge scaling. At 1080p, 125%, 125%, os navigation is mostly fine, but edge text is way too large. At 1080p, 125%, 100%, edge text is way too small. At all combinations text is inflated (but crisp) in certain elements while fuzzy in others. What scaling combinations work best for you? I am considering returning this to Best Buy and upgrading to a Pro 4 / Book, or even a Mac. The scaling is ruining an otherwise great experience.

One of the two "feet" on my 15 month old XPS13 laptop came loose and after two attempts to cut and save the rest, I had to pull the entire foot off.  Now the rough edge is a problem.  How do I obtain a reasonably priced replacement to glue into place?  I own two of these laptops and I'm concerned that I'll end up replacing all of them, so do you have a better adhesive to use than was first used during manufacture?

A:Replacement "feet" for XPS 13 laptop

Your best bet is to contact Dell support. There is a chance they may offer it for free as a one time deal, but if not I imagine it will be a relatively low cost part to obtain from them.

I'm really interested in buying this machine, the 14" model in particular, but have two questions I desperately need help with and I can't find the information online! 1. This is a specific question, but could anyone please tell me the size of the SD Card slot?I'm hoping to actually get some sort of measurement in centimetres or something here. I know that sounds a bit odd, but perhaps it's possible if you stick a normal SD card in and measure how much went into the machine and how much stayed out? The reason I ask is because I know normal SD Cards will protrude quite a bit on this machine, however I've found these special, smaller adapters and I'm wondering if they would fit flush into the machine so the issue is negated. (https://www.amazon.co.uk/MacBook-MicroSD-Memory-Adapter-Apple/dp/B01I92PFG4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1...) It's an odd request, but it is important and I'd really, really appreciate it. 2. Can the default role of the F1-F12 keys be changed? As far as I can tell,  they are used for shortcuts and if you want to actually use the F keys themselves, such as say Alt+F4 or F11, you also have to hold in Fn. This would drive me nuts! Can it be reversed so they function like normal F1-F12 keys? Perhaps in the BIOS? Thanks for reading and I really hope you can assist me!

I created a bootable USB stick using my backup program (EaseUS Todo) in both flavors that they allow (WinPE and Linux). In both cases the USB sticks would not boot even after disabling fast boot and enabling USB booting in the BIOS. Then I tried selecting Legacy USB support and still the USB sticks would not boot. (They would not show up in the boot menu). Finally however if I selected the BIOS option "Legacy First", then finally I could boot to either USB stick. However then after removing the USB stick, the computer could not boot to the C drive. I would have to go back into the BIOS and remove the Legacy First setting. Isn't there a way to set up the BIOS so that it boots to the USB stick if it is found and otherwise boots to the C drive? I've gotten this to work on other computers so I was surprised that I couldn't do this on the Yoga 2 ?? Thanks~Paul

Right out of the box, my Yoga 2 Pro had one major flaw: the fan is really loud and it's pretty much always on. Right now I'm using only Firefox and my CPU is running at 55C, my CPU usage is at 1% - 5%, and my fan sounds like a bicycle with a baseball card stuck in the spokes.  I can hear it over a pretty loud TV in my living room.  If I close the lid, then it turns off. From what I'm reading on these forums, this can't be normal.  I downloaded NoteBook FanControl and that works sometimes but not always. Any advice?

Hi All,

I see this has been mentioned once before, but there doesnt seem to be any clear answer.

Basically the gpu on  my Yoga 3 11, is stuck at 0.48 Ghz 99% of the time, leaving the laptop more or less useless!

See image below.

Very occasionally it will get un stuck and run like a dream, ive been hoping a bios update would fix it and to be honest after an update it did seem to run un restricted for a short while. When i say it runs like a dream, its shows up at around 1.9Ghz on the Task Manager/Performance screen.

Its not being restricted by my power plan option (as far as i know), I usually run it on High Power setting, I have gone through the power Options and not noticed anything strange,

BEing either plugged in or not, doesnt make any difference.

I haven't noticed any pattern as to the reason why the CPU is very rarely unrestricted.

I have included a few pictures below and im happy to supply any other info which may help diagnosis.

As i say the laptop in its current state, is basically useless and only just about manages to surf the internet.
If i dont find a solution soon, i have no choice but to take it back.

Thanks alot in advance for you help!

Will this version of Aura be available on the older Horizon models? I'm still on windows 8.1 on my Horizon 2 27" because of all the complaints here that Aura doesn't work if you upgrade.

Bought my son a Lenovo yoga 3 on 15/7/2015 from PC World 800, by 5/8/2015 it stopped working. Took it back on 5/8/2015 and PC World exchanged it no problem. After one year and three week the replacement has stopped working. Sent it back to Lenova who are now demanding 250 to repair it saying it needs a new main board and power supply - what after just a year old - clearly not fit for purpose - they accept it has not been damaged through misuse. I am waiting for a manager call back but I am absolutely appalled at the stance being taken by lenova and unless we get it repaired free of charge I will be taking the matter further. Any one else experienced such problems ?

Hello all! I purchased a yoga 2 13 pro and the mobo went bad. After being told by support that the mobo is no longer available, I replaced it with the exact motherboard I found on ebay. Upgraded it to Windows 10 and upgraded the bios. The bios stated "Get EC part information fail". Did a product detection. It stated it was a yoga 2 pro.  What caused me to investigate is that the sensors  for rotation are not rotating the screen properly.  Is there anyway to fix this?

I inserted a regular AT&T nano-sim card (for phones) into my new X1 Yoga, but it either says "no service" or "insert SIM"  Are there any APN settings that I need to add in order to get it working with AT&T? It has the stock Sierrra EM7455 LTE-A adapter
