lenovo yoga 3 pro 1370, 10 months old, upgraded to W10 Sept 2015, installed new drivers for W10, latest BIOS (a6cn58ww), all W10 updates installed. Here is the problem: since a couple of weeks, the system freezes when I move the screen (but only pulling it towards me) when the Broadcom 802.11ac is enabled. If I disable the Broadcom Network adapter in the device manager everything is fine and can move my screen without problems. Once I enable it BOOM ! I have posted this on other forum, and was able to get some relief (for 24h...) by doing the following: 1) I uninstalled the Broadcom driver and also checked the box ?delete the driver software for this device?2) I double clicked on the latest driver (4abe02af) and followed the instructions3) BUT at a certain point during the re-installation it asked me if I wanted to ?uninstall? the driver which I found strange as I had already uninstalled it from the device manager, so I clicked yes and it said ?uninstall complete? or something similar4) Out of curiosity I launched again the installation of new driver, and this time it installed without asking me whether I would uninstall it5) Rebooted the system, the problem disappeared for about 24h, then re-surface and still on.  So I am now facing again the old problem. I have tried all of the above for a couple of time but no avail. I have been adivced to restore the system to an earlier point but this means I will have to reinstall ... Read more

One suggestion..... I'm wondering after you straightened out the driver problem if Windows 10 didn't automatically reinstall the problem driver back again.  Windows 10 is good for giving driver updates whether you want them or not.  Try turning off the auto driver updates, reinstall the new driver and then see if that makes a difference.  This article will explain how to stop the auto updates of drivers......

I have Recently purchased a Lenovo Yoga 2. 11.6 inch screen Laptop. With N 3530 processor. I am having problems with it freezing up and it makes a horrible loud buzzing sound. No buttons respond, mouse won't function and touch screen does not respond. In the end I have to press and hold power button to get it to switch off then turn on again. The problem mainly happens when watching videos. Using Netflix app is the worst.  The buzzing sound seems to be coming from speakers. I have checked error logs and the main errors showing are one about display can't tell brightness settings and another about Netflix app.  I have tried to uninstall netfix app and reinstall but it makes no difference. Also problem is not just with netfix. I have been to Lenovo website and have updated some drivers. I updated bios but this did not improve things. I have tried to update display drivers as one of errors happening a lot recently is about the display. I downloaded correct drivers for my laptop from Lenovo website But it won't let me install them. I get a error message saying customised manufacturer drivers installed so can't install. Contact manufacture for correct drivers. What is wrong is there any way to fix or will I have to return laptop. Also keyboard and touch pad do  not disable in tent or stand mode. Making stand mode in particular impossible to use. why is this and again is it possible to fix this. I ... I've been experiencing a lot of weird quirks with my Yoga 2, and I'm not sure whether Windows 8.1, my specific combination or drivers, or a hardware issue is to blame.  The most consistent, and annoying issue, is the laptop constantly freezes after putting it to sleep.  It is almost transparent -- I never see the blue screen, because I've already closed the laptop.  I just open it up, the Lenovo logo pops up, and it turns out my computer has rebooted.  The windows event log confirms that a critical error has occurred. I've performed a factory reset and it still occurs.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

A:Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Freezing after sleep

Hi,I have the same problem with my yoga 2 pro. I've tried to find solutions but none of them work for me. My best guess is that the new hardware have compatibility issues with windows 8.1. My spec is i7 4500 8GB RAM 256GB SSDBTW, you can avoid this frustration by disable Sleep mode. I use Hybernate mode for both my power botton and lid-close actions. Setting are in Power Options.I hope Lenovo take this seriously, it's a shame that we have to experience all this. Don't they care about branding?

Hello everyone, I purchased Lenovo Yoga 900 Ideapad and I am currently using it in India. The power adapter seems to have gone bad and I wasn't able to charge the laptop with the given adapter.  Since the laptop is under warranty, I contacted the warranty help line only to know that I need to take the laptop to the service center. At a service center, no one really knew how the USB 3.0 charging port works and couldn't check whether the cable was short or the adapter had gone bad. Anyhow, they decided to replace it under warranty but again, they weren't sure when and if the replacement would arrive (as it depends on the inventory levels with Lenovo India).  An exclusive Lenovo shop then offered me an original Lenovo power adapter with USB 3.0 charging at USD 70 but only when it got delivered, I see that it is 40W and not 65W like the original one I had.  65W adapter - the USB 3.0 connecter (one which connects the laptop) is orange. The wall adapter doesn't heat up while laptop is charging.40W adapter - the USB 3.0 connecter is yellow. The wall adapter heats up quite a lot while the laptop is charging.  The Lenovo store representative has assured me that this is the right adapter but somehow I am not convinced.  Can the community throw some light on this:- Is it safe to use a 40W adapter for a 65W specification?- Is there any way I can get the adapter replaced by Lenovo US (I can ship the faulty adapter to US)?- I... Unfortunately my Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 Laptop has gone faulty just a month outside my two year warranty.  After being inspected this has come back as being customer fault as it is the centre pin in the power connector that has been bent that has caused the issue.  However Feel that this is a very poor design and that for an item at this price point that it is not fit for purpose.  Also when I was speaking to a work friend they had bought the same item only a few months before me and had the exact same fault.  I have since done done a small search and seen this same issue has been raised on a few forums over the last few years.   I was was hoping to get a view on how common this was and if you have been able to resolve.  If anyone else has had this issue please can you let me know and also how long you had the item before the issue began.  Many thanks

Hi, This is my first post, Please let me know if this is correct forum. My Lenovo 11 Yoga recently had an issue with its power jack where the inner rectangular part came loose. I ordered a replacement power jack connector E54926 and was able to remove laptop cover and attach the replacement. Now, when powered - I can see a very faint "LENOVO" logo and nothing afterwards. So, I am unsure where the problem could reside.  I tried increasing the brightness which didn't help. Could you please suggest how to troubleshoot further. Let me know and I can fill additional details. Thanks in advance

Hold the Windows key and press R, type excel /safe (note there is a space between excel and /).

If the application works fine safe mode, try disabling the add-ins for the application and check the result.

A:Lenovo yoga 2 screen not working

hi Gharri

Welcome to the Forums.

When you said  "the screen is on but only the mouse arrow is visable", do you mean the Touchscreen is not working?

If the touchscreen is not working, try the following steps:
1. Open system properties to determine if the OS is detecting the touch capability.
   - Link to picture (Touchscreen not working, proceed to Step 3)
   - Link to picture (Touchscreen is detected, proceed to Step 2)

2. Press the Windows key? +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. On the device manager, click view > show hidden devices and under Human Interface Devices section, uninstall the HID-compliant device touch screen (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen). When finished, reboot the system and observe.
    - Sample image

3. Turn off the machine and press the OneKey Recovery button and select System Recovery. On the menu, try to touch an item but don't proceed in doing the system recovery -- this is to check if the digitizer (the hardware part that enables touchscreen functionality) is working.

If the Touchscreen is working, boot back into Windows and backup important files then prooceed with the System Recovery.

If the Touchscreen is still not working even in the System Recovery menu then it's likely that the digitizer is faulty and you will need to contact le... Read more

For some reason my screen on my laptop spontaneously flickers and basically looks like it's having a seizure. I've tried updating the display driver and updating the system and neither worked. I've also tried the solution that requires you to go to safe mode to disable "Windows error reporting" and "Problems Report and Solutions" and it still hasn't stopped flickering. I bought the laptop about a month ago and the flickering started about a week/week and a half ago. I'd strongly prefer to fix it at home and I really don't want to have to return it to Best Buy to buy a different laptop. Any suggestions/solutions?

So I now have a nasty cracky on the glass of my screen - top right and accross the middle.  The screen is still fully working, and touch screen also still works.  So what are my options... 1) Can I just replace the glass? If so, where do I find this product - No one sells it.2) Do I need to replace the entire screen (LCD and Digitizer) - Again no one sells it. Apparently it's a licensed product and no 3rd party suppliers have access to stock. Can anyone please help, and share any other options I have? Thank you so much in advance.

That periodical 5 - 30 seconds black flickering screen has tormented me on my Y2P ever since I upgraded to Windows 10. Just today in a Yoga 2 Pro tips discussion I read that the solution may be to disable Panel Self-Refresh in the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel (Power -> On Battery). Too soon for me to tell if it works but I have my fingers crossed.

YOGA 900-13ISK2 SEPN: 80UEBIOS: 2UCN6WW16 GB RAM / I7-6560 / WIN 10 x64 Home    I got my new Yoga 900 few weeks ago and ever since it's been randomly freezing. The laptop is with this problem from day one and without any additional software installed. There's no error message or anything, it just freeze or flickering and than freezes completely without a BSOD and the only way to use it again is to shut it off and turn it back on. The freeze looks strange: black screen, any sounds playing would either stop or repeat indefinitely and the fan noise high. The LED backlight is on, but completely black display. I had to shut down my computer by pressing the power key and then restarting again. There is no clear error massage in Event log: ?Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0? and ?Unexpected shutdown?. For some reason, it's much more frequent on battery power and almost non-existant on AC power and High Performance Power Options. My lenovo Yoga 2 went into the black screen of death (cursor moving and visible but not able to do anything) about ten seconds after I got a warning saying my memory was low. I tried rebooting it to Safety Mode by holding down the power button until it turned off, then powering up while holding Shift+F8. It showed the lenovo logo, but then went back to black, and when I tried it a second time nothing happened. I don't have the ability to take the battery out, so I've now unplugged it and have devices hooked up to the USBs and charging to drain the battery--I've read that's one way to do it. How do I fix this??

I have ben dealing with problems with this touch screen since I got the laptop.  It has been continuously ghosting, while it got better after the June update, it still ghosts without touches, until you start using the touch screen.  When using the touch screen it starts drawing gray lines in between the point im touching and the point its ghosting to (the lines arent always direct). I recently wiped my the drive, reimaged to a backup from april and tried reupdating it.  When I got to the touch screen drivers, I got through the initial setup and told it to open the update when finished but the machine froze.  Now when I try to reinstall, I get to the finish page on the update tools install, have it open the updater, but the program immediately closes.Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, I am join the Lenovo forums to seek assitance with an issue with my Thinkpad Yoga 14. I recently purchased the notenook from Best Buy and it has been great.  But there's an intermitten issue with the screen going black. My theory was that the ambient light sensor is what tells the laptop it's closed, and it was getting obscured, causing my screen to turn off. This issue occurs when I am using it in tablet mode and during the process of the folding the screen back. The screen is fine in laptop mode, unless I adjust the angle of the screen.  So it seems every time I place my hand on the screen to draw, or fold the hinge, the screen will turn black. I have taken the following steps:-Updated Windows and all my Lenovo Apps.-Changing power options to 'Do Nothing' when lid closes.  Does anyone else have this issue? I am hoping this is not a hardware issue   Thanks everyone.

Hi,So, this just started happening on my 3 month old YOGA 500 - The touch screen stops working every couple of hours. Each time it stops i go to the Device Manager, and under Human Interface Devices i can't find either HID-compliant touch screen or USB input device. The problem resolves each time after a hard reset (and the devices appear in the device manager), then reappears after 2-3 hours. The system is: Lenovo Yoga 500 14ISK, Windows 10 1511 build 10586.164Any idea what's going on?Thanks,Vlad.

A:Lenovo yoga 500 - touch screen keeps disappearing ...

Hey there, I have a 2 month old Yoga 500-14ISK and I had the same issue. The temporary wokaround for me was to search in device manager under "USB controllers" and when the touchscreen died there would be a USB device with "Device Descriptor Failed" next to it in the USB section. Disabling that device and then re-enabling it would make the touchscreen work again. To completely fix the issue, I had to use a factory reset with the Novo button (pinhole next to the power button) and since then despite wiping the OS of my settings and apps, now I've updated all drivers and such again and I've had no further problems with the touchscreen.

Hello all, Whenever my fingers are on the keyboard, touchpad, screen, or surface of the keyboard, the screen blacks out completely. Every time light pressure is added, even a gentle tap, the screen blacks out. Music continues to play on the laptop even when the screen is black, and if I'm typing, all of the text that I entered while the screen is black remains. Occasionally, by applying pressure to either the bottom left or right corners of the keyboard surface, the screen remains. But even so, slight changes to my hand positions are enough to make the screen black out again.I recently sent in my laptop to Lenovo repair services due to a wifi connection-related problem, but I don't think this could be connected in any way. If anyone has experienced this before or is aware of how to fix the problem, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

So I recently came to South Korea to teach and my computer was working fine. i have two lenovo yoga series computer, one being the 2 and one being the 3 pro. The 3 pro I literally have used maybe 12 times. I bought it a while back but it was not convenient for the size at that time so I kept using my smaller once. So it is pretty much brand new. It booted up, it was charged, I was able to log on, then suddenly it went black and I have not been able to get a screen since then. I've never dropped it, I've barely put anything on it, it was working fine two days beforehand, then boom, nothing. I can't hear the fan going on it either, but then again, I never really noticed a fan noise in the beginning, either. I let it die on its own hoping maybe that would work.I charged it fully as well.I tried the 'press the power button so-and-so times for this' to try to hard-restart or something of the like.I know I have power because the light comes on, and I am able to make the lighting behind the keyboard come on and off. The screen is the only problem at this point. Since I just moved to Korea, I am obviously not fluent. I had my coteacher call Lenovo Korea for me and they said my computer wasn't covered under Korean Warranty, but from what I read it is. It doesn't end until January of 2017 either. So I'm at a loss. I can't speak fluent Korean so I can't call myself, and I can't put in for a callback. I may have my parents call the USA number, but then I'd have to ship... Read more

Hello Kitsumiya,I guess I also had this problem on my lenovo yoga 3-1470 before, but I am not so sure about it. There was once when I power on my lenovo yoga 3-1470, it went black screen, and I thought my lenovo yoga 3-1470 screen has spoilt. I tried restarting the system over and over by pressing the power on button. But when I put the screen under the light, I could see a very faint message box, asking me to restart. My lenovo yoga 3-1470 was touch-screen, hence I touch restart, and the screen came back normal again. This is not the solution to your problem, but I am just enquring on whether are you facing the same problem as me. If it persists, I guess you would have to send it for fixing, or look around for other solutions.  Regards, Federick

Hi everyone!

After I discovered a rotation lock button on my Lenovo Yoga 2 pro, the start up screen has been out of sync. It's not like I've broken it or something, I just started using it and next time I turn the pc on, the screen is vertical (instead of horizontal) and won't go back with the help of that rotation button, it simply doesn't work. I log in (still looking at the vertical screen) and when I'm on my desktop I have to switch a mode (to a stand mode for example) for the computer to actually switch to horizontal screen. After that, the vertical screen doesn't bother me until I have to turn the computer back again.
Can anyone please help me solve it? Do you think it's something wrong with the button or it's something with the drivers?
I have previously switched from win 8 to win 10 (which had a lot of driver problems) and back to win 8 (which runs without a hitch apart from this particular issue).

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hi I have bought Lenovo Yoga 500 14 i3 six months ago. Several months ago on the left side of the screen appeared ghost touches. This ghosts touches were exactly on one line of the screen, it is about 6 centimetres from right edge. I went to warranty center and they changed the screen. Two months has passed. And exactly in the same screen line touch screen stoped to work. If to put laptop in 360degree mode - everything works ok.Here is the video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xnz_L_11f8Actually I am begining to want my money back.

A:Lenovo Yoga 500 14 Touch screen issue

Hi there, Alex -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Regarding the ghost punches/ghost touch, there were some isolated issues for that issue on some Yoga 700, in addition to that, there is also a fix for it. Please see this thread.
Can you try the following?

Under theDevice Manager> Human Interface Devices, can you do a right click and disable on anything that says HID-compliant device (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen).
When finished, reboot the system and observe if you still get the same issue.

Update us how it goes.

My Yoga had a black line appearing on the screen and it was replaced by Lenovo. Now the same problem has appeared again. The line is thick and black appearing 3/4 into the width of the screen. Occassionally it is strippy white. On some occassions a little tap can make it go away (but not much anymore) and rarely after the laptop has been on for some time the line will dissapear. Any help would be appreciated. Is this likely the screen, the power unit or what?

My Yoga was powered on, I was logged in, and the screen was locked. I left my office for a minute and when I returned, it was at the "Lenovo" boot screen (white text on black background). I don't know if it auto-updated or something, but now I can't get it to do anything. I've tried various combinations of holding down the power button and hitting the "Novo" key, but the only two things I can make it do is power completely off or show me this screen. It won't get far enough in the boot process to allow me to boot to my recovery USB. I've had it less than two weeks.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hey guys, I'm a PreMed student who's life revolves around his laptop. I'm always on social media, watching some show, listening to music, doing an essay, taking notes, updating some website, or emailing some person on campus. Of course, my old laptop broke. It was a Dell Inspiron. Now, I have a campus job and have been saving money(so money is not factor necessarily). After researching my options, I've narrowed my choices down to the three previously listed laptops. I just want to know which do you guys suggest and why?

A:Surface Book vs Lenovo Yoga 900 vs ThinkPad X1 Yoga

By looking at your requirement, you prefer on-the-go PC that lets you do all that on a decent budget, SP4 is better than SB(if you want lightweight device and decent battery life), Lenovo's are pretty good too. X1 w/o OLED seems to be a better buy in terms of ultraportability and battery life. You could wait for others to chime in.

Hi we have a Yoga 3 Notebook 80JH and we are having issues starting it. If left alone for a day or so it may boot up, but due to a failed installation of Windows 10, I would like to restore to factory defaults / image. If I restart or shutdown the notebook, it will NOT power up the screen.  The keyboard backlight *may* light up but nothing appears on the screen. Plugging in an HDMI monitor, the Lenovo windows loading screen shows (spinning circles) but then even that then shows black. This appears to be a common failing with these notebooks. I have googled the issue, and followed various 'tricks' like holding power down for 20 seconds whilst the power cable is out, all to no avail.   What appears to be missing is an explanation as to what is going on. Holding the 'Novo' button down makes the notebook act as if the power button had been pushed, again only showing the lenovo loading screen for a bit on the extra HDMI monitor before showing no signal. Any ideas?

New Yoga 700-141SK: Ran the Lenovo Support Center Hardware Scan and the Video Card Mathematical Operations Test has failed rendering the Report: WVC007002-UL7BPL. Is there a tried and proven solution out there? I have had a look at the solutions on the forum and am not satisfied that the solutions offered prove that the problem has been resolved. My son accidentally got his leg caught in the cord of his laptop when he got up and the laptop  fell approximately 2 feet to the tile floor.  It boots up but stays on the Lenovo splash screen.  If I go into the BIOS and select System Recovery it goes through the "Loading files..." process, the Lenovo splash screen appears with the dots going in a circle but, then after about 2 minutes of that the screen just goes black.  If I tilt the screen forward or back I can tell it is still backlit just with nothing to display.  Anything we can try?

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40°. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. I also ordered a cable with the right plug to connect to the Y3P. However it has 3 wires inside. When mesuaring with a meter one is ground and two deliver about 5V. How could that be? How would you wire it to power the Y3P. Does anyone has any idea?PS: I know this is gonna wipe warranty.

I bought Lenovo Yoga 700 about a month ago from a CompUSA store for my personal use following my early retirement. Before Lenovo, I had Dell which the company provided and upgraded every 3 years. I never had any issue with Dell, nada. As I start using my new Lenovo laptop, I started having problem and nightmares. Minutes from booting up and starting my laptop, the screen would go crazy as if some external force take control over my computer. I could not do anything, literally nothng to stop it other than turning it off. I took back the laptop to CompUSA to return it for refund, but they refused becasue I did not buy insurance. They reffered me to their Geek to check it for me.  It took the Geek four days and $200 to say that a virus found home in my laptop, but don't worry we fixed it for you. Well, believe it or not, I took it home turned it on and guess what, boom same thing, same genie that I encountered before came back to hunt me again. Ofcourse, I took back the laptop to the Geek and ask for refund becasue they have not fixed the problem. Well guess what, they refused but I guess they felt sorry for me and told me that they beleive it is the touch screen that causing this problem and they turned it off and yes it was becasue the probelm was solved.   So, if the IBM gurus know that there is a problem with Lenovo's touch screen, why don't they recall all the ... Hi moonshine1, welcome to the forums.

Can you please share the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga ?

What I recommend is to update the drivers of the machine, specially if you upgraded to Windows 10. That can solve some issues with power and video. There is the System Update utility that can help, but it is also look manually for updated drivers on the support site, because sometimes the utility misses the newer ones.

About the touch screen, there had been some reports of "ghost touches" on the Yoga-3 with LG touchscreen. There is a firmware update for it. But if you have a non LG touch screen and you are having that ghost touches the best way to deal with it will be to open a ticket with Lenovo. If you bought it a month ago it should still be on warranty.

CompUSA is still open somewhere? I didn't know that. I thought it was bought by TigerDirect.

Bought my son a Lenovo yoga 3 on 15/7/2015 from PC World £800, by 5/8/2015 it stopped working. Took it back on 5/8/2015 and PC World exchanged it no problem. After one year and three week the replacement has stopped working. Sent it back to Lenova who are now demanding £250 to repair it saying it needs a new main board and power supply - what after just a year old - clearly not fit for purpose - they accept it has not been damaged through misuse. I am waiting for a manager call back but I am absolutely appalled at the stance being taken by lenova and unless we get it repaired free of charge I will be taking the matter further. Any one else experienced such problems ?

Hey guys, I need to buy a new laptop for college stuff and I am debating which to get, I only offered those 3 because other than them, there is only asus which offers basically the same laptop, without the touch for the same price. Here is a summery for the specs of the models I am looking at:Yoga 900:QHD+ 13.3 " display, either the newer model with 256 PCIE SSD, 540 intel GPU with 8GB of ram, upgradable to 16, and an I5 6260UOr the older model with 520 intel hd, normal 256 ssd, I7 6500U and 8GB soldered.Yoga 710:FHD 14" display, I7\I5 and 256\512 ssd with the new 940MX and 8 GB of ddr4 ram(I am still not sure which model I will pick as I can afford any considering it is cheaper than the yoga 900)I like that the Yoga 710 has a bigger display, though I am not sure how noticeable it will be considering it's 0.7" inches, also it has a much lower resolution.I don't plan on gaming or doing any heavy work on it other than surfing, watching movies and studying so I am not sure where the 940MX and drr4 will come into play. The yoga 900 brings ddr3 and intel graphics but a better screen, a PCIE SSD and an updated I5.My main debates are having a PCIE SSD and whether I should go for a higher res screen or a 14" screen with a little bit more juice, also the 900 has more usb ports and a usb C which is a nice plus.I would love to hear your opinions, thanks!(BTW, the price difference for me is about 250$ when considering the I5 variants)

Welcome to the Community Forums.

To start with I would suggest you try to check on the wifi adapter properties .

On Device manager , choose the wifi card and right click for Properties , Power management to uncheck on Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power .
Advance tab would also show Roaming tendency / aggressiveness that you can move to highest.
See if that would would , else you may proceed with uninstall and reinstallling your WIFI driver downloadable from the support site .
Update us how it works for you .

Greetings,  So I bought a Lenovo Yoga 710, 15.6", about two days ago and since the second day (with ~10 hours of use) it began having issues with the wireless connection which will randomly drops and won't let me re-enable giving me no more options than restarting it. After I do so, the same takes a very long time to restart or if the case was to shutdown it will also have the same pattern. The last time it did it and I restarted the laptop a blue screen appeared saying: "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you. (0% complete)If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" I updated the Network adapter driver, but it still keeps randomly dropping the wireless connection. Also everytime I shutdown or restart, a blue screen appears for a few seconds without giving me a chance to read what it says. Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

I was experiencing some similar issues after a recent Windows update- Upon startup I would briefly see nearby networks, but as soon as I tried to load my browser, the WiFi would disengage and the Wireless adapter would dissapear from my Device Manager. I uninstalled the most recent Windows update (not recomended, but I was troubleshooting potential software issues), turned off as many start-up programs as possible and also began recieving the Power State Failure error.I would recomend that you update your BIOS and then make sure that you've updated all Network Drivers (there may be a couple).Hopefully that fixes the issue for you. Best of luck!

I don't even know where to start, but Lenovo are very good at making it almost impossible to speak to any kind of human being who can assist with their faulty products....so i'm starting here! I bought my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro in August 2015 with a one year warranty (however, it would seem Lenovo's warranty start date is when they ship it to retailers and not when you actually buy it, but this was the least of my worries, and one issue that I was able to rectify). Within a couple of weeks, 'BOOT DRIVE MISSING/FAILED' started popping up  every now and then, and I would have to turn the power off and on again, and everything would be fine. At the start of September this message came up again, permanently, and dispite numerous attempts at factory resets/restores/boots etc which were suggested by the Medion crew on the tech support helpline, the laptop failed to work. At this point I was working abroad, and had the added hassle of returning it to the UK, to then have it shipped off to Germany for repairs. Dispite the fact that the laptop was only a month old, Lenovo said they could not replace it, only repair it (even though it was clearly a faulty product!?) The retailer I purchased it from also refused to assist, laying blame with the manufacturer. The laptop finally made its way back to me in October, apparently repaired, although you wouldn't know it as there was no information on what work had been done, just the laptop in an otherwise empty box. A:Lenovo Yoga 900 Few Questions

Hi Hisayuki ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Higher resolution is not a significant threat to power as compared to lower resolution on normal usage as full LCD panel is still lit . Higher pixelated displays type needs higher power (HD vs. FHD vs. QHD). In gaming setting higher video setting would requuire more power to be used by the video card . Dimming the brightness would lessen power draw.

About the browsers , features offered by Edge would lead most test and others may claim otherwise but may also depend fairly on the user and the websites visited. Limiting number of open browsers sure would lessen processes therefore less power consumption.

Adjusting to lower resolution manually to what suits your vision can help as other simply use applications to automatically do it .

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards

I just got a brand new Yoga 710 with 7th gen i7 (Yoga 710-14IKB 80V4). I've been using it for a couple of days only and already it has several times frozen to a state where nothing else than pressing power button for a long time helps. The issue can be repeated if I e.g. leave the laptop viewing youtube it will freeze. It varies how it takes but it seems to always happen sooner or later. Is there any other fix to this but refund? I was planning to have this laptop for several years and the start is not very promising. So I'll be pretty easily executing my right to return within 30 days. Thanks for any advice!

Hi to all! I have the notebook since one year and a half and this is the first time I encounter the problem. My laptop was charging and was ON. I took it from the table (still with cable) in order to put it on my knees and it suddenly switched OFF. When I press the power button a white light appears for a second and then disapears. What shall I do? thank you!

Hi! I recently bought a lenovo Yoga 500 15isk. i have an extra samsung 850 evo SSD and i'm thinking of using it for my laptop. Not sure though if this model accomodates an SSD in addittion to my existing HDD. I can't seem to find information regarding additional HDD on the unit's manual.   Preferrably i do not want to open my laptop on my own, in order to avoid unwanted warranty voiding. Thanks You!

First error was ?Detection error on SSD (M.2)?, which came right from the beginning.Lenovo Support UK tried reinstall of Windows 10 several times, and in the end they admitted faulty SSD drive, after a long battle with them. They claimed ?Detection error on SSD (M.2)? was software related, and not hardware related ? even though university IT dept said from beginning it was faulty SSD drive. The university IT dept knew this, because they had many Lenovo´s with ?Detection error on SSD (M.2)? In august mousepad stopped working. Lenovo Support Denmark installed new mouse pad, but that didn?t solve problems. Mouse icon is wandering through screen, even though I don?t touch mouse pad. Mouse pad is also marking text, by itself, and sending emails, even though I haven?t pressed send buttom. Right click menu for mouse is also popping up all the time, without any touches from me on right click. Lenovo Support Denmark also installed new bottom cover of machine, due to a bump in the cabinet. After this repair, screen is gapping 5 mm, when laptop is closed. So even though Lenovo Support Denmark could see from pictures that bump required new cabinet, they tried with cheap solution only changing bottom plastic cover. Windows 10 is also freezing app 30-50 times per day. It can be solved by pressing ctrl-alt-del, and then cancel, but still disappointing, Lenovo Support is refusing to do support on this. I have logged more than 50 lost working hours due... Read more

I recently downgraded from Windows 10 to a Windows 7 operating system. When I downgraded I needed to disable secure boot and disable OS Optimized settings in the BIOS in order to boot from the USB drive to install Windows 7. When I reinstalled Windows 7 I did a clean install, put in my Windows 7 Key and installed all the necessary drivers. However, it seems that my USB 3.0 ports are not working. On the flip side, when I plug in my phone or a thumb drive into the USB ports, these devices are recognized in the BIOS. Also, I looked in the device drivers and it seems that my USB drivers are installed. There is, however, an unknown device, which in the details tab reads:IUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F&REV_0021&SID_504C17AAIUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F&REV_0021IUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F Attempted solutions: I tried to reset all BIOS settings back to factory settings but when I did that my OS would not start until I turned secure boot and OS Optimized Settings back off. Also I tried looking for drivers on the website but  could not find any to do with the USB 3.0 ports. Looking forward to any advice anyone can provide in me fixing this issues.

A:Lenovo Yoga 14 (20 FY) USB 3.0 not working

USB 3.0 wasn't supported back then. Doesn't work with Win 7. You have to stick to the 2.0 ports. Return to the original installed OS or Windows 10 for it to work.
