A: my comp always sounds like it is running

It's probably time to back up all your data and re-install XP. That usually works wonders when everything seems to have slowed down. And after re-installing, be very critical of what else you install (Applications etc). Only install what you really need.

Another possible cause of slow-down is that the hard drive may be filling up. This leaves less free space for Windows to "breathe" properly. Have a good critical look at what can be uninstalled (especially large applications).

If you've got gigabytes of your own files on the C: drive, consider moving them to an external drive or DVDs (DVDs are the safer option if stored away properly, as all hard drives fail eventually)

A:Comp making sounds and clicking noises.

Well you already have Symantec which is Norton which claims to have in its program protection to the adclicker, you also have Trend micro, personally I don’t think you need both, way to many tool bars for my liking but then that is personal choice, you also have spybot going and teatimer, personally I only use this when i want, as in not running the program all the time, I don’t have it running in the back ground and never use teatimer it makes your boot up way to long, but then that is personal choice also but with two antivirus, you are bound to have conflicts as to the music and sounds I have never heard of that before, I would check your settings on any audio programs.

You are running Vista also and this is XP and below forum

I got some mod stuff today, a hard drive bay mount, a light, and tubes and i put them in, everything went pretty smooth so i plug my comp back in and throw the power switch.

It makes the horrible bwaararrarar noise im sure many of you are familiar with and says that my cpu fan speed is worng and it that will shut down in 2 seconds. So i do the panic dance and then try unpluggin some stuff still no luck. So i flash the bios and it works . . kinda. I was able to load but shortly after i was playin a game and it starts to wail like an ambulence siren goin weee oooo weeee oooo but i mean in like actuall beeps not just fan noises and whirs. So i freak out and shut down and flash again, it seems to be working but it sounds gross. Like i dunno really how to explain it i reset to what my bios suggested as defaults so i dunno if im ok or not.

If any of you have had anything like this or know what i might try id really appreicate it!

Heres my system info:

So the past week or so, my computer's both started to have voices coming from the speakers. Either some kind of music, or it would be a news program. It always happens when noone is on the computer. I checked my task manager and saw that no applications were running but when i looked in the processes, internet explorer was running. Id then end the process and the news/music would stop.

I have run scans on my computer and it has found nothing. Im running Vista Ultimate 64 bit, and just recently updated to IE8 yesturday to see if it would fix the problem but it hasn't.

Any idea's?

A:Sounds from computer when nothing is running

Solution: 1: Create restore point and take registry backup.
2: Delete all temp files.
3: Delete all unwanted software's and security software's from add/remove program.
4: Disable all unwanted services from startup and then remove from registry.
5: Reset internet explorer and then register all .dll files.
6: Scan with spyware removal and trojon removal.
7: Check windows update if found and then download and install.
8: Restart the computer.

Hi there!

I upgraded my sons graphics card for Christmas to a Geforce gtx 960 and I have had a few problems I'm hoping I can get some help/direction here.

I originally purchased a gtx 950 and we were running into problems with no signal and other issues. One of them was that the wireless adapter all of a sudden was not working. I tried a few things I found on the web to solve it and one of them was to factory reset the computer. I did this and it didn't work. We ended up hooking it up to an earthernet cord and it then the adapter started working.

We returned this graphics card and purchased the one above (960) just a slight upgrade.

After installing this card and a new power supply we noticed the computer seems to run slower and always sounds like it is always "loading". My son expressed he has been experiencing problems watching youtube also.

Should I do another factory reset? Or any other suggestions as to what I can research?

Background ad sounds keep running on my laptop. The ads start about a minute after windows starts and keep running, sometimes even two, three or four ad sounds run simultaneously. I have tried various solutions given at this forum as well as many other forums but to no avail. Please help.

A:Background ad sounds keep running on my laptop

You've got a malware outbreak. Download and install malwarebytes or something similar and scan your PC. After that, grab spybot search & destroy and scan with that. If neither of them are successful, run them both again while in safe mode.
(IMPORTANT: Make sure you update them both completely before running them. This is essential, as if they are out of date they will miss modern malware.)

I was wondering if it were possible to split up sound effects from different app's. For example, I want to be able to have sound effects for games running on my headphones while mp3s play on the speakers. The headphones are connected via USB port and the speakers are plugged into the regular sound jack on the back og my PC. I was thinking there was maybe some sort of program I could buy (or even better, freeware) that would make this possible. Or maybe there is a trick that Windows XP lets geeky guys like me do this? Thanks for the help.

I would like to say much thanks in advance for taking a look.

What can I say about this virus/trojan/whatever. Well, it removed my antivirus so I can't scan and therefore have no clue of the name. When I went to click on windows defender within the control panel, it bluescreens. I am unable to run most virus removal programs. This thing is nasty and appears to be getting worse i.e. appears to be randomly blue screening now.

I am currently doing the RootRepeal scan but will go ahead and post this now for fear of another blue screen.

Hi

My Computer has USB 2.0 in it. In Fact it says that there is on my PC. On top of ever USB device it says USB 2.0.
Everytime I plug in my flash drive or mp3 player why does it say that "This device can perform faster if you plug it in a 2.0 device".
I know for a fact that my computer has the Standard Enhanched PCI to USB host Controller because I opened my computer and saw the PCI chip myself that says USB 2.0 and there is no more proof than that that my computer has USB 2.0. I also saw it in Device manager.

Why is my computer then transferring files to flash drives at the speed of USb 1.1?
Can someone help me?

A:Comp running slow Pls look at HJT Log

hi, welcome to TSG.
I don't see anything major in your log!
You need to get Xp SP1 asap and all other patches, you are open to
multiple threats!

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp1/default.mspx
go to this site and download these tools and once you get both
adaware Se 1.6 and spybot, update both of them.

Set adaware to do a full system scan and deselect, "search for neglible risk
entries". Click next to start the scan. Delete everything adaware finds.

reboot and now run spybot

Spybot: Search and destroy.

Delete what spybot finds marked in red. After updating spybot hit the
immunize button.

reboot again
With CWshredder close all browsers and programmes and select the FIX button.

Go here and download Microsoft Antispyware Beta. First in the top menu click
File then Check for updates to download the definitons updates.

After updating look in the right side of the main window under "Run Quick
Scan Now" and click Spyware scan options. In that window put a tick by Run a
full system scan and then put a check by all three options below that then
click Run Scan now.

When the scan is finished, let it fix anything that it finds (have it
quarantine the items that have that option rather than delete just in case.
It is a beta program and there may be false positives)

Restart your computer.
All tools can be downloaded at the link below and found on that page!

Hi, I'm having a huge problem with my computer. It's a Prescott Pent 4 3.0ghz, 512 MB RAM, 256 MB Video Card. It has a Seagate 80 gig HD with 8MB cache S-ATA 150 I believe. Anyways the problem is that it's been running really really sluggish lately. When I try to run 3-4 programs at once it takes forever for things to minimize and maximize. I've scanned it with adaware, spybot, and defragged it countless times. I just don't know what's wrong with it. My friend who has a xp1800 and 512 MB RAM can run more applications then mine. Could it be that the harddrive is dying or maybe the motherboard? Oh yeah here's my hijack scan if it'll help.

A:Comp Running Very Slow Can You Help Please?

Hello dan297 and welcome to the BC HijackThis forum. To begin, it appears that there are 3 anti-virus programs running on this computer: McAfee, AOL and AVG. Choose the one you want to keep and then uninstall the other 2. Running multiple anti-virus programs can cause them to block each other and actually prevent them from dealing with threats.Next, download WinPFind2.zip and unzip the contents to an empty folder of its own (do not run the program directly from the zip file).Go to the folder where you unzipped WinPFind2 to and double-click on WinPFind2.exe to start the program. Click the Run All Scans button at the top and wait for the scans to complete. When finished, click on the Export To Text button in the lower right-hand corner to save the log to a text file.Open the WinPFind2.txt file in Notepad and copy/paste the entire file back to this thread. I will review the information when it comes in.Cheers.OT

I also perform a spybot scan as well as a virus scan.

so lately my computer has been running real slow, processes hanging up, and emails being sent out from my email that weren't from me containing viruses. have used mbam, spybot, and windows defender and they haven't come up with anything but i just would like it checked to make sure. ie runs so slow that it has become unusable. i'm not sure if that is because it has become obsolete in today's flash heavy world or because of perhaps malware, virus, ect. i mainly use firefox and occasionally chrome if i am doing something really flash heavy like gaming online. if someone could just double check my files to ease my mind i would appreciate it. thanks!

Everytime I try to open IE to run the panda software, IE closes down before I have a chance to even paste the URL in the address bar. Otherwise, the only other symptoms I've found is the computer running incredibly slow and the physical memory is getting maxed out.

A:comp running sluggish

A few Google searches show people having slowness issues with Wild Tangent GameConsoleService.

You can test if it is causing a problem by running msconfig (Start > Run > type: msconfig) and on the Services tab uncheck GameConsoleService, then reboot.

Also check the time of day AVG is set to run automatic scans. I set mine to run at 2:00 am so it doesn't slow my computer during the day.

Hey all, im new to this but i have been reading up on some sites and i got directed here and told that you guys would be the people to help me. Basically i formatted this computer recently and it was running really nicely but now it seems to be going very slowly and often random things crash that i didnt even know were running. I have done a HiJackThis log and this is it...

I have also run adaware and got rid of everything from there.

Oh yeah, 1 more thing. I used to have the Google toolbar installed to stop popups but now it has just disappeared and even if i try to re-install it....nothing. Also when i startup the computer, i get an error saying windows could not find bridge.dll, is that a bad thing? lol

anyway, help would be appreciated.

Greetings all!!! This is my first time here and I am looking for some comp advice.

My google searches are being redirect to hxxp://63.209.69.107(search argument). I am running a Win7 professional 32-Bit OS. McAfee which failed to protect me. I use Firefox.

I followed all the directions here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic34773.html

I have installed DeFogger and disabled my CD Emulation drivers.
I also installed DDS and run the program and have the logs saved to review upon request.

I am savy enough to run though this and fix some of my issues as they appear. I am looking for help to resolve this issue.

Thank you in advance.

I've updated, and I have been running a fully Verified subscription of McAffe 09. I recently got on my family's laptop. It has only 68.5 Gigs. It was filled to 67.75. I've been running Disk Cleanups, Scans, Scans, Scans, None stop. Free'd up 22 Gigs, Now well, Ever since I've gotten on this comp it's been slow, getting a little faster everyday. I'm running on a Dell Inspiron E1705,Windows XP SP3, Fully Updated Computers, No B-S Downloads, I keep it pretty safe, and have security on at all times. Anyone know anything I can do?
Oh I forgot to mention, I've never been able to open Error-Checking, Or Disk Defragmenters, I've downloaded some and then deleted all of them for not working..., Can anyone give me any suggestions to get my computer up and running better, or if I've done something wrong?

Any help is greatly appericiated,
Thanks. Hayboy1213

A:comp running very slow please help

You have firewalls running.

There are things you can fix with HJT but now while it's running from a temporary folder.
To create a permanent folder click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar click on File, New, Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis". Now you have C:\HJT\ folder.
Put your HijackThis.exe into that folder and post another log.

Hello, I posted few days back and could realy use some help with this Hijack logs or melware. I play World of Warcraft and was in game when i got booted off line, so i loged back on and few mins go by and i get kicked off again. Now i said something about that in vent and someone said you might have a key logger and someone has your pw and logging on while your on. So i got online and and did msconfig to find what programs are being used at start up. Sure enough key logger was found. I looked up the properties of where it was in the hkeys and followed the path and deleted it. Then went back to startup and removed it from there. Rebooted comp and came back to startup and it was gone While i was looking around on the web i found another person that played World of Warcraft and had a key logger as well and had alot of info on stuff he did to get rid of it. (Im not expert at computers but seemed my way was alot quicker and did the job) but in his post he had Hijack this recommended and after doing that and comming to find this handy web site i see there is alot more i could probably do then just what i did.So i posted about 3 days ago and no responce 96 view's if any one can help i would be greatly appreciated.http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/339245/key-logger-found/Thanks alot

I know how frustrating it is when your computer isn't working properly. Let me assure you that your topic isn't lost, forgotten, or ignored. We work with hundreds of logs every day, so we have devised a means of seeing only those topics that don't have responses yet. At the moment, we have over 400 unanswered topics, the oldest dated Aug 6, 2010 10:53 p.m. Eastern Daylight Savings time in the U.S.A. Your log topic is dated Aug. 12, 2010 at 4:06 p.m. using the same time zone. Our volunteer MRT team members have various levels of expertise and training, so while we try to take the oldest DDS/HJT logs, it is often the skill level of the particular helper and sometimes the operating system that dictates which logs get selected first. Some infections are more complicated than others and require a higher skill level to remove. Without that skill level attempted removal could result in disastrous results. In other instances, the helper may not be familiar with the operating system that you are using, since they use another. In either case, neither of us would want someone to assist you who is not familiar with your issue and attempt to fix it.Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.Orange Blossom

A:Comp Running SLOW

I think that the first thing you should do is to run a program such as CCleaner and check the programs you have starting when Windows starts. Programs such as Quicktiime and ITunes do not need to start when Windows starts as they function perfectly fine without. So disable them from starting.

Another thing you can do is to defragment the system disk (the harddisk that Windows is iinstalled to) as the file structures get broken up and this can reduce harddrive read and write speed. You can do this by clicking Start, Accessories, System Tools, Defrag and leaviing it to run.

Also do the usual Disk Clean and Spyware checks as well as anti-virus checks although I see you have AVG running.

put in new motherboard - motherboard and everything seems to be running hot (to the touch). cpu (amd xp 2600+) in old motherboard (without silver compound) ran at 150F degrees. now it does about 110~120. still very hot. the heatsink is a standard amd heatsink (aluminum i think). just ordered a 80mm fan that runs at 5000rpm or so over the standard 60mm running at 4000rpm thats fitted on now. also ordered 2 80 mm fans to put in the case (already have 3 fitted). anyone know of a good cheap copper heatsink for socket A?? dust is also a problem, i was planning on put on some panty hose netting over the intake fans (cheapest way). any other ideas on how to cool this biatch down?? much thanks.

are you using thermal paste now? if not. GET SOME! arctic silver could knock a few degrees off of there. also make sure your pc isnt near a heater or something of that sort. mine is and it puts the temp up about 10c sometimes. and clear wires from around the cpu heatsink that could be limiting airflow.

My computer has been going really slow and my internet is going slow to. I checked for spyware with Ad-aware and spy bot search and destroy but it didnt pick up anything. What can i do to make my computer faster?

A:comp running slow

This depends on a lot of factors. If you want to surf the net faster get a better connection. If you want to play games faster upgrade your graphics card.

Though if your computer was fine and now seems very very slow (a lot, the internet seeming slow once or twice isn't a problem) something is probably wrong. Do more research than a scan for spyware and come back.

btw, also have a look at Tweak XP

A:Comp running SLOW.

You have too many antivirus programs on your computer & tha's causing it to slow to a dead crawl. Having more than one anti-virus program is not a good idea!!

Alike firewalls, anti-virus programs have conflicts co-existing with each other & may produce undesirable results. Please uninstall ALL leaving only one of them.

Then use Hijackthis to fix these entries:

Lately I have been having many problems with my computer. Everything is running incredibly slow, and I get spyware popups on the internet.

I've ran AVG, Ad-Aware, and Spybot several times, and they have not fixed the problems.

So here is my HJT log. Thank you very much to anyone who helps:

A:Hey my comp is running slow

Before any work can be done on this machine, there is something that requires your immediate intervention.

This machine is messed up pretty badly because you have several anti-virus programs on your machine. That's not a good idea!!

Alike firewalls, anti-virus programs have conflicts co-existing with each other & produces undesirable results. Please uninstall ALL leaving only one of them.

ALL the antivirus programs must be removed via add/remove program.
For any program that doesn't have an add/remove entry, you will have to do this:re-install the program -> reboot -> uninstallPost a new HJT log after you have completed the above

Hi I installed XP home edition on my Computer which had Win 98 on it. Unfortunately XP was setup as a 2nd OS(which I didn't want). I want to remove 98. I wasn't able to access via XP the files or programs I had under 98 so I ran XP's file transfer wizard (with new and old computer being one and the same). I copied those files to an external harddrive and then went back into the wizard (now under the XP environment) and tried to move those files to the XP . What I got in the end was a ton of files that I was told had to be moved manually. Ok, here's a list of my problems:

1) I want to delete Win 98. How do I do this? Once I remove 98, will this free up a ton of ram?
2) I want to install some of the programs that were running under Win 98 into the XP environment. I have CDs for these programs. One such program is Office 97, which includes Outlook(not express),Access and several other programs that I often use and are not in my XP home edition. Does anybody know if Office 97 is incompatible with XP?
3) Under the XP environment, I keep getting a msg that I'm low on memory. My PC has 128 mb of ram. Using the Add/Remove function or Windows Explorer, I've removed many of the programs (such as Quicken) but I continue to get this low memory msg. How do I correct this low memory problem (which occurs only under the XP environment)? I have only 145mb of available ram. No ram is not used with 2 OSes all you will gain back is HDD space. RAM is what is used during booting and running of programs not the storage of 2 Oses.

Office 97 installs on XP. I would recommend upgrading because 2003 has alot of benifits over 97 but it can be installed.

Low on memory can be a few things it can be dependant on how many things you have in startup. It can be due to how many items you have open. The easiest way is to upgrade your ram though.

Help! Please! Yesterday I posted about the system recovering from a serious error. (here http://forums.techguy.org/t369037.html )

I follwed the instructions given (disabled auto start or whatever) and now I have a computer that's alive but dead. I've had to rig the old one up just to get online where I can get some kind of help

Ok, I was watching a DVD when I heard a small 'click' that was it. Screen froze. Comp wouldn't switch off at all until I pressed power. Now, its dead. It powers up but that is it. I can't get a signal to the monitor, or mouse or anything. All the comp does is power up the tower. It's as good as dead but with electric. Worse still is that it won't switch off. I can press the power buttons but nothing, it remains live and running just not 'running' any programme or power-up what do ever.

What the hell has happened? is it related to serious error problem of the last few days or what? And how the hell can I get it to simply start and power up once more?

help please, i've not a clue what to do

Would someone be able to check out my HJT log.

I have a Acer Aspire 5610 with the following specs.

Windows Vista Home Premium SP1
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo CPU T2350 1.86GHz
Memory (RAM): 1.00GB
System Type: 32-bit Operating System

The problem I am encountering is a really slow OS. It takes a few minutes usually to open a system folder, or to open anything.

Usually when I am online it takes forever to load. Even if I am on a wired connection. When my desktop can get on and operate like normal. I have both Ad-aware and AVG and neither one have picked anything up.

Thanks in advance to who ever answers this. I appreciate it as does my wife, whose comp this is.

A:[SOLVED] Comp running way too slow

Hi JMody. . .

First off, I suggest that you run only one anti-virus as they tend to conflict w/each other. Also if you have a 3rd party firewall installed it could be interfering w/system services and the Internet.

Most important is that you have 1gb RAM. You should upgrade to 2gb minimum for Vista especially with resource intensive programs like AIM6 and Apple.

I would start w/un-installing Ad-Aware and AVG firewall, if present. Then reset the Windows firewall to default settings. But look into that RAM upgrade.

A:Please Help Comp So Slow Dont Know What Should Be Running

Hi bigbufftony,Sorry for the delay, this forum is swamped right now.I don't see any signs of malware in your log. I do see a line that indicates at least one system crash:O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k The crash(es) may be related to your performance problem. Please give me as much information about them as you can. What you were doing when it happened, any error message, and so on. If this is multiple crashes, are they reproducible i.e. connected with a particular operation? It is possible you have a rootkit that is hiding from HijackThis, but I would like to hear more about the crashes before we do any more scans. One other thing you should correct:You need to update your Java. Then open your browser and go to this web page to get the latest version. Scroll dow to the middle of the page where you will find Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6. Hello,
With the help of this forum, I just built a new computer (specs below). After some very minor complications (I plugged the keyboard and mouse into the wrong ports...don't assume the purple plug goes into the purple jack!) I'm up and running. So far so good.

I've installed all the drivers that came with the motherboard and video card (evga CD didn't work, had to DL from web), but I'm wondering what else to install, and what I should avoid. I have a couple of firewalls running: one from windows XP and the other from the ASUS mobo disk. Should I keep one/both of these, or should I upgrade to another? What about the other software included with the ASUS mobo, such as the system monitoring tools, cool n' quite, etc? I have most of them installed now, but I'm really not sure what I need and what is just bells and whistles. Any advice? Besides programs/games, what other software is suggested to keep the system clean and running smoothe?

Thanks
John

A:New comp up and running....software advice?

If you never connect to the Internet, you'll be fine.
Otherwise, get an Antivirus program (free from http://free.grisoft.com) and install Adaware and Spybot S&D.
The XP firewall is rubbish. Go get the free personal firewall from either www.kerio.com or www.agnitum.com. Then de-activate the XP-firewall and uninstall the Asus firewall.
To get even more safe, get yourself a router/switch with built-in hardware firewall and NAT.

As for Asus utilities: their Probe program comes in handy to monitor temperatures and PSU voltages. For cool'n'quiet, read up some on the internet (Google) if you want it or not.

I recently got my laptop back from letting my niece borrow it and it seems a bit sluggish to me. I am wondering if she inadvertantly picked up something online.

My scans with ccleaner, AVG, Ad-Aware and Complete System Care show nothing unusual. Temp files and cookies to be deleted from ccleaner for example, which was done. Still though, it seems slow. It may also be the amount of programs I have on my tiny little mini9 as well, as I also recently put another program on. Still, I thought I'd check. I ran a scan and have a log from Hijack This and will post if asked to.

A:Comp Running Sluggish, infected?

If your computer seems to be slow, please refer to Slow Computer/Browser? Check here first; it may not be malware. There are reasons for slowness besides malware - i.e. disk fragmentation, disk errors, corrupt system files, too many startup programs, unnecessary services running, not enough RAM, dirty hardware components, etc. As your system gets older it becomes filled with more files/programs and has a natural tendency to slow down so cleaning and regular maintenance is essential.

My comp just shut down one day. I have tried the following: replaced power supply and mother board (both not the problem).

Most of the time, it never gets to the beep during startup. Once in awhile, I will hear the beep and it does load windows. If it does load windows, it will just shut down after a few minutes. I thought maybe the hard drive, but I used the Western Digital software and it says the hard drive is fine.
Could it be a virous?(sp?)
A friend said it might be the CPU overheating, but I check the temp in bios (when I could get the far) and it was running at a temp of 106 - 112 degs. Since it allowes for warning at much higher temps, it doesnt look like that is the problem.

Oh, comp is 1.8 ghz p4 w/ DDR

Anyone, please help!

i am going to test your statement "there is no stupid question".

i have a 2 year old compaq presario. runs xp pro sp2. intel pent lll 1133 mhz, 1.13 ghz, 348 ram.

16G HD, C drive -2G free, D drive - 6G free.

I have installed and run Ad Ware (w/updated database) and Spy Bot search and destroy.

I have deleted items in prefetch folder.

have run defrag, and disk cleanup (defrag took over 8 hours to complete

used to run Mcafee AV pro, Firewall and Spamkiller, have removed all mcafee products.

I have been trying to load Grisoft AVG, but it fails to install. I get an error message that says "....service did not start in a timely fashion". so at present i have no virus protection.

Hey guys/gals,

First off I would like to say thank you for the wonderful job you all do here.
Second I would like to say thank you to who ever assists me with my problem.

Now for the problem.

My little brother got a hold of my wife's laptop and though it would be a good idea to download uTorrent and several TV Shows and Movies. Needless to say we all know that is plain stupid. I have removed it appropriately and now seem to have several infections. The laptop is easily running at 10-15% of the ability that it was prior to the torrents being downloaded.

I am no longer able to access the Task Manager and I also have an error message that is continuing to pop-up.

I have googled this file to see if anything came up and I can't find out what it could be.

Below are the required files that are requested.

Regards,
JMody

Hello JMody,

You definitely have it bad.

It will require more than one round to properly clean your system. Please stay with me until given the 'all clear' even if symptoms seemingly abate.

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts. **Note** If ComboFix does not respond, or will not run, rename it to JMoody.exe and try again. If it still will not run, then delete the existing copy of ComboFix and download it again - but rename it before you save it to your desktop.

As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

Welcome to TSG!

Uninstall SurfAccuracy from Add/Remove Programs.

*Download Cleanup from Here

A window will open and choose SAVE, then DESKTOP as the destination.
On your Desktop, click on Cleanup40.exe icon.
Then, click RUN and place a checkmark beside "I Agree"
Then click NEXT followed by START and OK.
A window will appear with many choices, keep all the defaults as set when the Slide Bar to the left is set to Standard Quality.
Click OK
DO NOT RUN IT YET

Go here: http://www.noidea.us/easyfile/index.php?folder=2
On the right hand side, click on Nail/Aurora Spyware Fix to download Nailfix.zip
DO NOT run it yet.

Boot into Safe Mode (start tapping the F8 key at Startup, before the Windows logo screen)

* Once in Safe Mode, double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

* Run Cleanup:
Click on the "Cleanup" button and let it run.
Once its done, close the program.

Restart back into Windows normally now.

Post a new Hijack This log.
