AMD Phenom II X6 1075 HyperTransport causing BSODs?

Q: AMD Phenom II X6 1075 HyperTransport causing BSODs?

Recently purchased a new computer. I was having issues with installing Windows 7 and learned that HyperTransport is sometimes the cause of the issue and by turning it from "Auto" in the BIOS settings to "X1" can resolve the issue, and for me it did.

After installing Windows 7 and waiting to see if there were any other errors I went back to turn HyperTransport back to "Auto" I'm above computer savvy, but not far when it comes to hardware, I'm more of a software kind of guy. After doing so I was receiving consistent BSOD's. And after turning HyberTransport back to "X1" they went away narrowing it down to this being my issue.

I didn't know if updating my BIOS would help the issue so I decided to ask around first.

Computer Specs:

AMD Phenom II X6 1075T with HyperTransport
Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3
8Gig of Corsair Dominator
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1Gig

I have no idea about the power that any of these pieces should be receiving, nor if that would even be the cause of the problem. Also, windows freezes along with the BSODs saying that a video driver went out but was recovered, I just installed the latest video drivers. At the time of posting this the computer has been running for 2hours without HyperTransport set to "Auto"

Would updating the BIOS fix the problem?

Thank you!

A:HyperTransport (AMD Phenom II X6 1075T) causing BSODs

Update your BIOS, definitely. HyperTransport should not be causing you problems.

If it helps as a reference, look at my specs in my signature. That's all running on a 650W power supply.

When Windows says a video driver has crashed it typically means this (I've dealt with it too many times to actually admit, sadly):

Windows: Graphics card, please respond. We need to display some stuff.
Graphics Card: Ok. I'm here. Let's do work.
Windows: Graphics card, please respond. We need to display some stuff.
Graphics Card: Ok. I'm here. Let's do work.
Windows: Graphics card, please respond. We need to display some stuff.
[no response]
Windows: Ok, I'll count to X (not sure what X is, to be honest). If you're not back by then, I'm going to restart your driver.
[counts to X]
Windows: Restarting driver.
Windows: Graphics card, please respond. I restarted your driver as you didn't respond earlier.
[If graphics card responds]
Graphics Card: Ok. I'm here. Let's do work.
[If graphics card doesn't respond]
Windows: I'm going to go crash now. I'm out of options. Thanks. Goodbye.

That's the story I like to tell.

Your PSU may indeed be underpowered or faulty. From my calculations I estimate 600 watts to be a good starting point to be on the safe side. It's better to have more than you need at the time than not enough.

Need help solving Error #1075 problem in conjunction with CheckPoint VPN NGX R60 HFA3. I am using a Dell E6510 laptop computer running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit OS. I can get this VPN to run and connect when I use Microsoft's XP virtual machine sitting on the Windows 7 desktop but I cannot get it to run on the Windows 7 desktop by itself.

Although the VPN seems to load without incident the associated icon "key" does not appear in the notification tray at the lower right. It does appear in the XP virtual machine and on a separate HP desk top running Vista.

When I type services.msc at the Win 7 command prompt I get a list of all the loaded services including the CheckPoint VPN. It is at this point when I try to start the VPN I get the 1075 error. When I check the dependencies under the VPN I find the "CheckPoint Office Mode Module" and the "VPN-1 Module".

How do I determine if these dependencies are causing the 1075 error message? What steps do I need to take to resolve the error message so the VPN will start?

also could i reccomend me a new motherboard, a Nivida one, for the new quad cores coming out, time to do my pc up ^^

A:Processor picking, AMD Phenom 9600 VS AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition

Between the two, it is a no brainer. Get the 940. Next IMO you use an amd chipset board for an amd build and an intel chipset board for an intel build.

When you use third party chipset boards ie nvidia, sis, or via, you are asking for problems.
Nvidia makes fine video cards; their motherboard chipsets.... that is another matter.

Hello, I've been having a lot of BSODs with my computer. Here are my specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
Memory: OCZ DDR3 1333 2x 2GB
Motherboard: Asus M4A87TD EVO
Video Card: nVidia GeForce GT 430
Power supply: OCZ ModXStream 600W

I've been getting BSODs almost all the time for a while now. When it first started it was mostly when I'm playing games. Sometimes it happened after a few minutes and sometimes after a few hours. There were a just a couple of other times where there was a BSOD while I was doing other things like browsing the web. The errors were usually different but most of the them mentioned the "atikmdag.sys" file. I used to have an ATI video card and thought that was probably what was causing the BSODs so since then I changed it to the nvidia one I currently have. That seemed to fix some of it. The BSODs are much less frequent now and I can go through an entire day or game without one sometimes but they still happen and again it's either during games or randomly like while I'm on YouTube or something. They're still mostly different, I probably had one that mentioned "driver irql not less or equal" and "nvlddmkm" or something like that but it's more often a "system service exception" and mentions "win32k.sys".

I've updated drivers, ran memtest and FurMark and nothing came up. I also upgraded the hard drive and reformatted at some point bu... Read more

Yesterday I built a new PC and I've already had two BSODs, one while playing Tribes and the other while simply sending an email. After the first BSOD I removed the beta driver I was using (with Driver Sweeper) and reinstalled the official driver and it seemed to fix some issues I was having, but then this new BSOD just came out of the blue.

For the past few months, I have been having frequent BSoDs, most of them of the 0x0A IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL variety but pointing the finger at ntoskrnl.exe which could mean anything. I ran memtest86 and it made 12 passes with no errors. I turned on Windows 7 Driver Verifier and it still kept crashing all the time but while Verifier was on, it crashed without blue screens or minidumps, so I'm still no closer to fixing the problem. Even a clean install of 7 Home Premium only kept the blue screens away for 10 days or so. I'm suspecting the ATI Radeon HD 6670 driver or the Motorola MTR700 tuning adapter or its USB controller but it could really be anything. Sometimes it goes a week without a problem, sometimes less than an hour.

They are very close in performance, some reviews indicate that the 1100T is a slightly better overclocker. The price difference in the U.S. is only $10, not sure there's 30 euros worth of difference though.

First, why dont you upload the DMP file to us for exam.

The link to the driver is for the driver download so I cant look at its date, etc.

Utottent does sometimes create BSOD's but I wont know till I look at the DMP. You might want to re-install uTorrent in the meantime.

Hello chaosrealm93,
Can you go to C > Windows > Minidump, zip up the file and upload it with your next post, you may have to save it to your desktop first.

I would re-install the drivers with the latest set.
Boot in to safe mode and use Driver Sweeper to remove the old drivers, reboot and install the latest Video driver for your card.

Hi Seven Forum :

I recently re-installed Windows 7. So far it's running...well...okay. My main question is about one piece of software that DID work in the past. It's called Turbo Floor Plan 3D. It's a great program. But recently, it started causing BSODs (?). One question I do have is........if a software isn't compatible with the OS....wouldn't it just...not function at all ? Or, some features in the software would malfunction ? But, lately this software was causing System Crashes. I've used this software in the past, and it functioned well. I changed the video card and RAM. One time, I tried running the software is Safe Mode, and had no problem. Going along with that........how can I find out why Turbo Floor Plan is causing this. Like I said, in Safe Mode, it functioned quite well. I really like the software, and I "hate to see it go" (I guess I can find a substitute). As a side note : Turbo Floor Plan 3D is a highly graphic intense program. I just check the requirement on the back of the original package, and my System meets the requirements. I have more than enough Page File space, Disk space and memory. This may be the place, but I'm not sure HOW to diagnose the problem in Safe Mode or "regular" mode (when I'm logged in). garystan

Hello,

recently I moved to my new room as I'll be going to university as of now, but moving my desktop hasn't been going quite smooth. There are multiple issues that need solving, but there's a particular one I can't get my head around.

I like to keep my system clean and organized, and I usually use Auslogics BoostSpeed to do so. However, as of late defragmentating has been causing blue screens with varying messages. Sometimes it's a Kernel Stack Inpage Error, other times it just mentions either faulty hard- or software. I'm guessing the problem may be with my new internet connection/ drivers, which is now wireless instead of wired. But it may also be my HDD, which has caused some issues (BSODs) in the past. This is the only case where I consistently get BSODs; leaving the computer running overnight or playing intensive games will cause no problems.

I hope anyone can tell me where the problem may lie. I'll happily provide more information when required.

AMD Athlon 64 x2 5600+

So I made another thread a while ago where we figured out that the driver to the Asus PCE-AC68 wlan card was causing BSODs. So it was decided I would wait for asus to come out with new drivers.

So I updated from driver 2.0.8.8 to 2.1.1.5. I even tried the beta driver, and I'm still getting BSOD intermittently with all three drivers.

I did a reinstall of Windows 10 with another usb drive with a fresh image from microsoft's site. Tried moving my PCE-AC68 to different pcie slots.

I'm still getting BSODs regurarly when I'm using the PCE-AC68.

Uploaded a dmp file if someone had some more insight into why this happens.

Hello.

I'm running Windows 10, and before that had been running 8.1. In both OS versions, I have gotten mutilple BSODs, specifically: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, BAD_POOL_HEADER, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT.

BlueScreenView says a file named "ntoskrnl.exe" is to blame every time.

I ran Memtest on 8.1 and got no errors. I'm afraid of running Driver Verifier because if I get locked out of my computer because of a VERIFIER_ENABLED BSOD, I'm not sure how I would get back in (I can't boot to safe mode using F8).

Any help getting rid of these blue screens would be very much appreciated.

Sorry for the delay in responding. In most cases, the reason that you can't upload the dump files is that they haven't been zipped up.  The forums only allow certain kinds of files to be uploaded, and .zip is the one that's used the most by us. There's a different way to get to Safe Mode in Win8/10.  But don't worry about it now - we'll discuss it if it's needed. Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum):  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/Out of 8 memory dumps there were 5 different BSOD  (aka STOP or BugCheck) error codes.  The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things (the list is not in any sort of order):- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.- dirt/dust/hair/fur/crud inside the case.  Blow out the case/vents with canned air (DO NOT use an air compressor or vacuum as they can cause damage to the system)- missing Windows Updates- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers), older systems, or even pirated systems- low-level driver problem... Over the past few weeks my PC has been BSODing. At first it would do so only after exiting a high performance game like War Thunder (not heat related).

This at first I thought was caused by Nvidia drivers. I then updated said drivers and it made no difference. Running the PC in safe mode works perfectly which led me to believe it was indeed driver related. I wasn't able to create minidump files for some reason even when the correct options were set up so there was no way for me to accurately determine the cause back then. I decided to just format my drive and re-do everything. However, even without the Nvidia drivers it would still BSOD randomly. I decided to do some Windows updates just in case but this didn't help either. I went as far as installing Windows on another hdd just in case it was a hdd issue.

Recently the PC has been BSODing as soon as it gets to the desktop and sometimes, if I'm lucky, it'll last a little longe... Read more

Hi

I have been experiencing several problems with my computer (Win 7 Ultimate, 64-bit) which appear to have come at random over the last month. I think I have narrowed this down to the graphics card (ATI HD6900), which has been working like a dream previously.

The symptoms of the problem are slow cursor movements, general slow responsiveness, and choppy audio, which gets worse before the computer dies an inevitable BSOD death (dmp files attached). I have always used Chrome as my main browser.

I have tried to completely clean the computer of drivers, install previous versions, and use the latest version to no avail. I would appreciate any assistance in resolving this.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi jossman.

The crash dumps has nothing to do with ATI, all they are saying that it is Trusteer Rapport that is causing the BSODs. And you are not alone, it is very common.

I know how important that program is. So I cannot say you to uninstall it. But I would say that the BSODs will continue as long as it will be present in the system.

Two more things .....

First, Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Second, it seems that you have Norton, and you have McAfee. Why? Multiple security means no security, and McAfee is not anything to pay for. Uninstall McAfee Using McAfee Removal Tool.

Let us know about your decision about Rapport.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi, this is my first post here.

Ever since I've gotten this card when I upgraded my pc (new motherboard, cpu, power supply and video card) it's had varying problems, which are pretty hard to explain. But I'll try my best.

At first, the only problems I got were playing Battlefield Bad Company 2, where (I think) 2-20 minutes into a game the screen would freeze for a few seconds, with looping audio, and stay like that until I used ctrl+alt+dlt. If I opened task manager from there, the game would appear violently flashing white and other colors in the window and I'd have to force close it.

Then, I was urgent to play the Battlefield 3 beta since BC2 was almost unplayable. I had to download the latest Nvidia beta drivers to play, so I did. The first game I played nothing went wrong; but about half way through the second game the current picture would freeze similar to in BC2, then my screen went completely black (like it had been turned off, even though the light was still on) for a moment and bring my back to the Windows 7 desktop. BF3 would remain unresponsive and I'd have to force close it.

After the second day it had gotten worse where the crash would happen within the first game. Also, this same thing would happen when I played any type of flash video. Except when the monitor came back, the video would appear green with audio still playing. I think this might have also occurred randomly on google chrome except nothing broke from it. This happened in other games, to... Read more

I just reinstalled Win7 64-bit on a new Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe and Samsung 840 Pro, and I keep getting bluescreens at random. I've tried updating every driver I could find, I've tried using different USB ports for peripherals, running Driver Verifier, uninstalling Daemon Tools, disabling startup apps, running memtest, and using nvidia beta drivers. I've tried everything except flashing my BIOS and I still can't figure out what's causing these.

I built a computer for somebody about a year ago and he's been regularly having problems with blue screens. The memory has been tested with memtest (however I still think this might be the problem), the graphics card swapped and tested, Windows reinstalled, and he still gets BSODs at an average rate of about two a month. Between March and June there was a period in which he didn't get any, but in June and July so far he's seen four. I'd like some help analysing the most recent dumps, because I really have no idea what it might be.

All help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

The OS is Windows 7 64-bit.

Hi all,

I've been having constant trouble over a number of years to get my gaming machine stable, but have been sent around in circles with bluescreens, troubleshooting and endless attempts of possible fixes and solutions.

Is Windows 7 Ultimate

- Full retail version
- System age is 2 years
- OS install is recent

Small list of troubleshooting attempts/BSODS caused:
Sound/ATI latest drivers installed,
BSOD: ataport.sys STOP: 0x0000001E
Safe mode, Driver Sweeper - removed ATI drivers
BSOD: "A thread tried to release a resourse it did not own" STOP: 0x000000E3
BIOS Updated to latest
RAM Underclocked, paired RAM slots tested, Single RAM module tested in each of 4 slots, Installed ASUS GFX Drivers,
BSOD: "Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area" STOP: 0x00000050
BSOD: "System_Service_Exception" STOP: 0x0000003B
BSOD: "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" STOP: 0x000000A
Windows fully updated, RAM timings set as per manufacturer spec, also tried underclocked.
BSOD: STOP: 0x0000001E
BSOD: atikmdag.sys
BSOD: "Memory_Management" STOP
BSOD: "Page_Fault" aswsp.sys STOP: 0x00000050

etc, etc, etc.

Thanks for your time, any help or advice would be extremely helpfull!

Seems you have a high performance mouse or game stick that's running on a older driver if it's a steelseries like I think it is you should be able to track down newer drivers here.

Seperately you're also loading a razer driver so here's that link

your also using the asus probe utility, I have seen this cause bsod's in the past

Anyhow you were on the right track it's definitely looking driver related.

My girlfriend suggested from what little I knew that I update my graphics drivers, which I did and rebooted. Still, if I could get anything more concrete it'd really help.

Please see this thread for my original problem: http://www.techsupportforum.com/f217...op-358237.html

Same computer, new hard drive (since that seemed to be the device that was causing the problems) and I have the same problems.

I just put the new drive in yesterday, installed Vista and went to Windows Update to install the updates. For one, it takes upwards of 5 minutes just to find the updates I need, then forever just to download and install them (as in over 2 1/2 hours and it hasn't even gotten to SP1 yet). When they finally install, I reboot. It gets to the Windows loading screen and blue screens with the same STOP codes as in the other thread:

0x0000007B / 0x80403BA0 / 0xc0000034 / 0x00000000 / 0x00000000

The only difference between now and when I originally had the problem last year is that there isn't an endless reboot loop; I'm able to start Windows normally after the BSOD.

EDIT: And I can't figure out why, but dump files are not being created when it blue screens, even though I have it set to do that.

I just built a new PC using a Gigabyte 970A-UD3 motherboard, it's been up and running for about a week now. I've since been having an issue when inserting a USB flash drive into the front panel ports. Sometimes it causes my D:\ HDD to crash (it resets as though it was just connected, Windows is on my C:\ SSD drive) and other times I get a BSOD and the machine restarts.

This has happened using both front USB ports and with 2 different USB drives - one USB 3.0 the other USB 2.0. It doens't happen all the time either, only sometimes which is making it difficult to troubleshoot. It has yet to happen when using my external USB 2.0 hub, but as I said it doesn't happen 100% of the time on the front ports either.

I've used disk management to ensure there is no drive letter conflict, which was my original thought before I got any BSODs.

Here are the full system specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-UD3 v1.1
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 980
RAM: 16 GB Patriot DDR3 1333
GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 580
Primary Hard Drive: Crucial M4 128 GB SSD
Secondary Hard Drive: 2x WD Black SATA III 1 TB disks using onboard RAID 0
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Dump files and perfmon results are attached.

What case are you using? I have a Corsair 400R with front panel USB 3 ports. Corsair has had problems with these USB 3 ports on a few different cases and it was a bad USB case panel.

These were caused by a memory exception. Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.
1-Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Hi, here are some of my system specs:
Video card: Sapphire ATI Radeon 5850 Xtreme

RAM: 8 GB (4x2) DDR3 1333Mhz
Power supply: Seasonic M12II-620Bronze (620 Watts)
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, build 7601: SP1

My PC is only a few months old, but my video card is already giving me hell.
Everything worked just fine (or at least it seemed so), until my PC suddenly froze and crashed after a few seconds.
Now, whenever I boot up, I can't get through the windows splash loading screen. When it finishes loading, I either get a black screen and nothing happens (no cursor shows up and there are no booting sounds), or I get a BSOD.
The only way I can boot is by disabling my video driver using safe mode.
I tried installing other versions of the ATI driver, but the error repeats itself in 2 different ways:
1. If I only install the driver without the ATI Catalyst Control Center, Windows actually boots just fine, but after a few minutes of use, it freezes and crashes.
2. When I install the whole Catalyst package, I get the same as I described before - when booting, either a BSOD or a blank black screen appear after the Windows loading splash screen.

I tried resetting the BIOS to factory defaults and this is still happening. I'm currently booting to and running Windows 8.1 to determine if it's just a Windows 10 issue. This may have been caused by recent updates. Has anyone else been running into the same issues?

I took some maintenance measures to see if I have fixed the issue from my end. I updated the hard drive firmware and set up the power connectors to keep only one boot drive plugged in at a time. I previously had both the Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 drives plugged in at the same time, which may have caused the stability issues. But is the freezing a known issue with the latest updates?

Hello everybody, I wish to inform you that there have been numerous complaints of BSODs happening between Windows Defender and the new AdGuard 6 BETA - so be aware! If you wish to use AdGuard BETA make sure to use it with another anti-virus so Windows Defender is disabled, or just use AdGuard 5 until 6 is stable. I will update this thread as soon as I find out this issue is fixed

Known affected operating systems: Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
BSODs occur more frequently on Windows 10 compared to Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
If you are having problems removing or disabling AdGuard or disabling Windows Defender and still getting BSODs please post this in Troubleshooting Software where one of our amazing members can help you - Troubleshooting Software - Questions and Help!

Hi guys

I thought it was about time I looked for help on these forums directly, instead of just lurking around attempting to glean information off other people?s issues for the last year and a bit. Sorry for the long post in advance, i just want to get as much information out there as possible.

Long story short, early last year i purchased a new computer from a custom builder for almost $4000. Ever since i received it, i?ve been getting BSOD?s. The builders never found an issue with it (something i doubt) and because of their lack of interest in following through with my problems, the manufacturers warranty has run out. I?ve re-installed windows multiple times to no avail, updated drivers, run memtests, HDD tests, the lot.

The BSOD?s that i could pinpoint, i found fixes for, which didnt seem to help because the errors just came from somewhere else.
Excessive (30 gigs) data transfer used to cause BSOD?s, which was fixed by turning off USB3 support.
Saving large files (such as 700+meg photoshop images and 1.5+gig Zbrush files) would often cause BSOD?s, and corrupt them in the process. I dont think thats been fixed, but its much more infrequent than it used to be.
Putting the computer to sleep and attempting to resume it would cause BSOD?s, i think i hotfixed that a while ago, but i?ve been to reluctant to use sleep mode since, so i haven't extensively tested it. Something to do with HDD spinup latency, and not being able to read\write data fast enough.

Hi,

First of all thank you, this forum has been helpful in eliminating probable causes for my Blue Screens. Unfortunately, I still cannot pinpoint the cause myself.

They happen randomly; while watching a movie, just clicking on something, but especially when Windows is shutting down. I however, cannot force them to occur.

Actions to date (not in order):
1. Latest MB BIOS.
2. Latest SSD firmware confirmed.
3. MalwareBytes run (no actions required).
4. Driver Verifier run (system restarted after 24 hours with most recent blue screen, though the driver doesn't match the Driver Verifier elected settings recommended in these forums).
5. Computer hardware shop ran stress tests on system, including CPU, RAM, GPU and PSU with no BSOD or issues. These were using the Intel testing kit and a Crysis engine. I also ran Memtest three months ago for a separate BSOD issue (dead SSD).
6. Virus scan with MSE (no actions required).
7. Run sfc /scannow (no issues returned).
8. Windows "upgrade" repair install and disk-cleanup.
9. Updated as many hardware drivers as evident. Wherever I could, I first used DriverSweeper to remove the existing driver.

All my system information is attached to my profile. This Windows install is relatively new (three months ago, with the repair run last week.) All hardware is eight months old, excluding the GPU and Soundcard which are approximately 2 years old. Besides the occasional short-term GPU overclock, nothing else has been overc... Read more

There is this browser game called Dead Frontier that recently started causing BSODs. I just started playing yesterday and it was fine, but now I can't even log in without getting a BSOD. On skype none of my friends who are playing it are having that problem.

After stop: comes a lot of zeroes ending with I think E8, damn, somehow I forgot. After that there would be a Parenthesis with three more series of numbers.

Then it says it performs a memory dump.

And its just when I play this game. I know I have enough memory, because I have 0.99 of a Gigabyte Ram, and I was playing it last night and through this morning.

So what could be the problem?

My overclocked Win7 x64 system was running rock solid (24-hour stress tests with no issues) until about 2 months ago, when intermittent crashing started to occur (memory read errors, Stop 0x3b, Stop 0x124). I returned to stock hardware settings, even underclocked, upgraded drivers, installed SP1 -- all to no avail.

By successfully stress testing on a secondary Windows 7 x64 install using the same drivers, I've verified that it's not a hardware problem -- it must be Windows itself!
I have no idea where to go from here, though. I used Nirsoft's BlueScreenView to analyze minidump files and all I'm seeing is ntoskrnl errors for the most part. For the last few BSODs, the BSOD seems to be writing a minidump, but when I restart there doesn't seem to be a more recent one.

Any help or commentary is appreciated. Pulling my hair out here.

P.S. A repair install will overwrite settings, so I don't want to go that route if it can be avoided.

Hardware:Asus Rampage III Formula
i7 950
Kingston SNV425S264GB SSD (primary, unstable W7 SP1 install)
2TB Hitachi HDS722020ALA330 (older W7 install)
Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600 RAM

Steps I've already taken:underclocked
sfc
chkdsk
Prime95 for 4+ hours
memtest86 for 12+ hours
used Nirsoft's BlueScreenView to analyze minidump files

So I got this PC from Best Buy in the summer of 2011, and for the last 6 months + it has been crashing a lot. After looking into it a little, I found out it had something to do with my graphics card, which I installed at the time of purchase with a 400W power supply (recommended by the guy at Best Buy). I primarily use this PC to play SWTOR, StarCraft 2, and stream football. I managed to dig up an old computer monitor (one of the early flatscreen ones, before widescreen became the standard) and dual monitored through the Radeon a few months after I bought the PC.

After playing or streaming for some time, the screen freezes up or goes to black/brown/blue, the PC makes a screeching sound that I swear changes every time, and crashes. Windows error reporting wasn't working for a while, so I didn't know what the issue was, but then I fixed that and found out it had something to do with my graphics card not responding. HP's recommended solution was to update the drivers. I had been updating through the AMD Vision Control Center thing, and the two updates from HP (from mid-2012) said they weren't compatible with my system (I'm assuming because my drivers were more up to date than those updates). Either way, reinstalled the drivers, and it kept crashing. Yesterday I took apart my PC, took out the graphics card and put it back in, and managed to game for a while. Today, while watching football, my computer crashed again with the same issue.

I checked the google and found other pe... Read more

A:Unknown Issue with ATI Graphics Card Causing Multiple BSODs

Hello XRogue101789.

First of all, a 400 Watts power supply is never enough for a gaming PC. you need bigger. 750 watts will be a good option.

Have you installed the the display driver while the BSODs occur last few incidences? The display driver is not loaded in the dumps, but other data ays it is present in the system. Rather it shows AMD PCIE Filter Driver AtiPcie64.sys to be loaded.
Update your ATI/AMD display driver.
You can get it from the link in our forum, Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy.

A stop 0x124 is usually a hardware error, but any component of the overall computing environment may cause it.

I have a class assignment in which I have to spec out a computer to build from scratch. I've selected a CPU/motherboard combo that states it uses hypertransport. I'm unfamiliar with hypertransport. Do I have to match the CPU and motherboard hypertransport speeds? The CPU I've selected says it runs at 2000MHz, while the motherboard says "1000 MHz Hypertransport (2000 MT/s)" The motherboard was recommended by the website as compatible, but I can't help but wonder. And what does "2000 MT/s" mean?

Thanks for you help.

Could anyone explain the relevance of the motherboard FSB/Hypertransport.

In this context I am looking at buying a Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 motherboard. This is a low end Socket 939 PCI-E board. According to Gigabyte's homepage the FSB/HyperTransport is 1600 Mhz. All the others are 2000 Mhz.

In terms of performance is this something that would seriously affect performance.

Any recommendations regarding alternative MOBO's greatfully received.

I tried searching for this and didn't get any good hits - can someone please explain it to me in simple lay terms? Nothing high-tech plz.

One's by Intel and the other's by AMD - I know that much.

My buddy asked me to get Intel HT and I got AMD HT (just because it was a 64-bit processor and it has 1600 FSB)...but I don't know if I did the right thing. He says HT by Intel does some cool things that HT by AMD cannot do. So, what are the differences from the end-user point of view? Someone please give me a 101 one this. It'd be great.

thanks, guys.

A:Difference between Hyperthreading and Hypertransport?

Ok, some intel cpus have "ht" which is hyperthreading technology, which makes one cpu act like it's two, and lets the cpu work on two things at a time, as opposed to just one thing. If you do a lot of multitasking it can help speed things up somewhat.

Amd's "ht" is hypertransport, which is the 1600 you refer to. Amd a64 cpus don't have a fsb(front side bus) like intel cpus do, they have a more efficient arrangement called the hypertransport tunnel, which usually runs at 1600 or 2000mt/s. The difference between 1600 and 2000 is very small, if any.

So the intel might multitask better, but is also more expensive. Amd64 cpus are excellent for gaming on the other hand, and have 64bit capability, so they are ready for future operating systems like Windows Vista. If you want to do serious multitasking, a dual core cpu is for you, it has 2 processors built into one chip. Amd's X2 cpus are dual core, intels pentium "D" are dual core as well.

I doubt most users would notice a difference between an amd and an intel cpu if they are comparable models.

I hope that made sense and cleared that up.

So I have recently bought a new GPU for my pc build, (AMD R9 290), fitted it and installed all the newest drivers since having fitted it the PC keeps on powering down and rebooting. Three times in one night etc. It's not under and load or at any specific point, can do it at idle it just seems to be completely random. Event log says this every time;
"A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Component: AMD Northbridge
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: HyperTransport Watchdog Timeout Error
Processor ID: 0"

As the GPU was new and a big step up from previous I thought it could possibly be the PSU, so since bought a Corsair 850W psu (over specced) but wanted to make sure it would be okay.
Error is still happening obviously.
I have updated to the latest BIOS from the asus website. I have done a memory check using memtest 86 all fine.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the GPU but still the same problem.
Processor is AMD FX-4170 not over clocked, I just dont know what the problem could be.
I was hoping if any of you guys could shed any light on it.
Any response would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!
(hope it all makes sense I have typed this quickly in fear of it rebooting haha!)
Can upload the mini dumps if that will help.
Thanks guys!

A:HyperTransport Watchdog Timeout Error

Check your voltage that your cpu is getting. This problem occurs between the AMD Northbridge and the cpu. Find out a) What the voltage that the cpu is supposed to be receiving, b) what the actual voltage the cpu is receiving via the BIOS, and c) if the voltage is off either set it to the recommended specs and if that isn't the case edge up the voltage in the BIOS and see if that brings stability.

Hello!
I have two issues, the htsf error seems to be triggered by gaming and the loss of video output and reset button functionality which occurs if i leave the pc on for some time seems to be randomish but possibly linked. I have just installed a new gpu but tried the setup with the old gpu and had the same issues. Also i have moved everything to a new case. Also i added 4gb ram bringing it to 8. My conclusion at the moment is that i must have nacked the mobo when i did all this. Currently the mobo is not raised on the spacer screws as this seemed to throw the access panels out of alignment on the back. Any ideas for diagnosing this or should i just admit defeat?
Thanks

Here is the motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131340

A:Will a motherboard that will run Phenom also run Phenom II?

It most propably won't. You will at least need a BIOS update. Actually it will. :O
Go here: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us search for your motherboard, choose WinXP (or any other, as it doesn't even matter), choose BIOS [BIOS history], choose the latest, 1001, BIOS, download. Then... I'm not sure, but you might need a floppy drive to update the BIOS, though some newer board can be done with a USB drive.

Hello all,

I've noticed that a few people have posted concerning this topic, so I've tried to read up on as many possible solutions before posting. I'm recently recovering from a mild virus infection on my computer, and noticed that after I had run Avast! and Malwarebytes to remove the virus, my computer lost its internet functionality. Upon running ipconfig in command prompt, I noticed that the computer was not being assigned an IP address, which lead me to believe there could be an issue with DHCP.

Below are the fixes I've attempted thus far -

1. Checked the registry for DHCP?s dependencies (3 are listed, Afd, Tcpip, and NetBT).
2. Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults by typing ?netsh int ip reset reset.log? into command prompt.
3. Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults by typing ?netsh winsock reset catalog? into command prompt.
4. Ran ?sfc /scannow? with an XP SP3 CD.

I'm currently running Windows XP Media Center, Service Pack 3 on a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop I had purchased in mid-2006.

DHCP and TCP/IP can not be started from Services with out the following error.

Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.

I've checked the dependencies and all are running.

AFD is the only driver common to both DHCP and TCP/IP so I assumed it is either not running or is corrupt..yet when I try to start AFD from the CMD prompt I get...."service is already running.

I have since disabled my Lan Connection via Network Connections as it just sits there trying to acquire ip without ever timing out.

I also performed a registry scan with Registry Booster in Safe Mode. It reported:

1061 System Errors
205 User Errors, and
1 Third Party Error

A cursory review of the log tells me the majority have to do with poorly uninstalled programs. I did NOT let Registry Booster fix anything.

DHCP error 1075--can not start the DHCP client on local computer.Dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion..

Hi thanks for any help you can give.
Machine is a Dell dimension e520
Win XP Media center edition SP 2

I have the original dell discs and access to a working laptop also running win XP [this one]

During a routine virus scan by avira anti vir it quarentined c:\windowes\system32\drivers\netby.sys.

This disabled the DHCP client so no IP traffic
I restored the file but still no luck

After trying to renew the IP and some searching around I found that the HKEY local machine system currentcontrolset services NETbt registry key is missing

In services DHCP cannot be restarted --gives the warning above.
AFD and TCP/IP are in device manager -non plug & play show hidden devices NETbt is not

Can the registry be repaired from the original discs without having to reinstall everything else?
Or is it as easy as inserting the missing registry key?

Thanks Bob

The full message is error 1075: The dependancy service either does not exist or has been marked for deletion

This started with a tidserv!inf infection. Norton End-Point seems to have deleted all related virus infections, however, I am now unable to start the DHCP service. I have to set a static IP in order to connect to the internet.

I believe tdx.dll was identified as a virus and deleted. it was listed as a dependancy of dhcp but had no descriptor. Currently it is not listed as a dependancy.

I cannot view network shares from this PC nor can I view shares that I host here on other PC's. Only this computer shows up in net places.

I did an sfc /scannow and it told me audiodev.dll and mofd.dll were corrupted and the files in the store have been corrupted.

I had to take ownership with the admin group in order to replace them with extracted copies from my windows cd, but I when I went back to reassign trustedinstaller as the owner it was not listed as an option.

my cd is without service pack and my installed service pack is sp2.

can anyone be of assistance.

I have read through the original thread (now closed) and tried all it's suggestions. However, I am still having the same IP (on lack of) issues. I ended my efforts with the running of SFC /SCANNOW which took a considerable amount of time, but resulted in no errors of any kind.

I continue to get the Error 1075: the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion, message when trying to start the DHCP Client.

I'm afraid searching the suggested logs for the dependency items it a little over my head.

A little background for my situation. The computer in question is my teenage daughters. A week ago she started having problems with the internet and I'm assuming this is some sort of virus. Whenever selecting a website to launch to, something intervenes and chooses some alternate website. Never the same one twice. I loaded AVAST free version and did a scan. I also updated Malware Bytes and did another scan. I then loaded Kaspersky TDDS killer and did a scan with that. After all that, and roughly 15 files quarantined and deleted, I now have this IP problem. I cannot restore the computer back to an earlier time.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

DHCP Client will not start from services menu and neither will TCP/IP all other networking services appear to be started and working.

DHCP dependencies are:

AFD Networking Support Environment
TCP/IP Protocol
IPSEC driver
TCP/IP dependencies are:
AFD

Since the TCP/IP's only dependency is AFD I suspect it has been deleted or corrupted. How do I go about fixing that?

Greetings,
I am having a major DHCP error on my girlfriend's laptop. I am primarily a Linux user so I'm kinda lost here as her machine is running XP. It's a Dell XPS M1210 which, conveniently, did not come with a recovery CD or even partition.
Anyway, a few weeks ago her wireless network device stopped working. It would look like it was connecting, but it would hang on "Acquiring network address." At first I thought maybe the device was shot, until I had the chance to test out the wired ethernet, which has the same problem.
After quite a bit of googling, I ran services.msc, and saw that DHCP is not running. When I try to start it from that menu, however, I get this message: "Could not start the DHCP Client service on Local computer. Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion."
After more googling, I discovered that DHCP has only 3 dependencies: TCP/IP, AFD, and NetBt. I checked the registry, and those were the only ones listed.
After even more googling, I ran devmgmt.msc and selected "show hidden devices" and double clicked on "non plug and play devices." I TCP/IP and AFD are both there. NetBt, however, is not.
I've spent hours doing further googling and tried pretty much every fix I could find and nothing seems to work. If the PC had shipped with a recovery CD I imagine this would be easy to fix but alas no luck. I need to get this working so I can set up my new internets and I... Read more

My PC is three years old and has been a great machine. I run Windows XP Home Edition, I.E. 7 and have all the protection installed I can find.

Quite by accident I discovered my System Restore is not working. I don't need it at the moment (!!!) but I like everything to be as near as perfect as possible on my PC so I have been trying to discover what the SR problem is and how I can resolve it.

I keep getting the message "S R is not able to protect your computer. Please restart and run SR again"............This advice does not work. for me!
I cannot turn off SR for the same reason.

I then checked out this section of the forum and discovered that many people have had this same problem. I have tried downloading Kelly's file 238 (I think that was the number) ; I have tried accessing services.msc ; I have tried accessing i386: nothing!

I did get the message "Error 1075: "Dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion". This error seeems to apply to many facilities on a PC.

I have my windows XP disk but cannot lay my hands on the SP2 one so I don't want to mess about without your professional advice to do so!! (apologies!)

As I said, if you solve my problem you will be miracle workers and worthy of your wings.

My thanks for any help you can offer me.

Hey Everyone.

Maybe someone could be of help. I have gone through several different forums and have attempted several ways to try to fix this but have had no luck.

I have tried the netsch winsock reset
I have tried the ipconfig /renew
My DNS service starts but my dchp client doesnt want to and gives me the error 1075.
I have removed NAV still nothing.

I have also tried many other alternatives but im just not remembering at the moment and I am just stumped.

Internet works on my other two computers, but my laptop is what seems to not want to connect wirelessly or routed. Something seems to be blocked or missing.

If anyone can please help me in any way possible it would greatly be appreciated. If you need me to provide some more details please let me know.

This is my sister's netbook. The problems started with one of those new "fake antivirus" that puts up a ton of obviously fake results that claim your computer is highly infected*. She being... less technologically inclined apparently decided to run the "Antivirus scan" over and over again over night and then the next day gave it to me to try to figure out what was wrong. I can't find the links right now but I found a bunch of blogs that mentioned (Privacyprotection.exe) and among the most frustrating aspects what that it blocked pretty much everything from running. I did a bit of digging and eventually found out it was a rootkit causing the issues and the tools they gave me wouldn't run but I was able to follow the manual instructions. (remove the .exe, remove the alias, regedit and remove the key that matched privacyprotection.exe but not the other ones like the one underchrome etc). That took care of the major problem and I was able to get Microsoft Security Essentials running but everyscan kept turning up a few "Trojans" and that upon trying to clean would result in an error. The error would lead to 'restart to finish removel'. I tried safe mode and the same result. I am really desperate. I've tried a few things that other people have posted here, especially Cookiegal and Lumpola but this issue persists.

I had a virus. I think I got rid of it. Avast scans and boot time scans and Super Anti Spyware and TDSS killer report all clear. However, the network shield of Avast and the Internet don't work.
Points to note:
1. In services, the DHCP and DNS cannot be started. I get the error 1075: service has been marked for deletion or one of it's dependancies are missing. (close to that)

I've checked the dependancies of both, and reinstated the ADF module in device manager after selecting the 'View Hidden' option.

My computer (vista) was infected with a virus. So I first used rkill/iexplore then ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware since my protection (Panda) doesn't seem to do its job correctly. The first time I did this, everything seemed to return to normal. Couple of days later, the same virus started up. I redid what I did...and it seemed to work again...until I tried using the internet. (I think Malwarebytes deleted something in the registry?)

There was an error saying that "DHCP error 1075: The dependancy service either does not exist or has been marked for deletion". I googled this on my laptop and followed some of the instructions found online. None of it worked...

I went into device manager->hiddle files->non plug and play drivers:
There was a problem with these with the same code for them: This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)
App Filter Plugin
NetMon Filter Plugin
Panda Net Driver [TDI Layer]
VSCore mferkdk

Finally, I have included the last three logs from Malwarebytes showing which files were deleted by the program.

Thank you for looking over this!!

A:windows audio: error 1075 the dependency service does not exist or has

From your description there are many more problems than just the windows audio error.

I would suspect an Operating System problem. If you can find a friend to download the Windows 7 Home Premium ISO and burn it to a DVD, that would give you the needed disc to try and repair Windows. Although your DVD drive does not work in Windows, it should work for booting.

Here is the link to the forum post. There are links to the various versions. You can download the same version that you have.

Hello,

On July 12th 2012, my computer installed updates. After rebooting and waiting for me on the login screen, I gave it a hard shutdown to check on the BIOS settings (for a little side project, in the end I did not save any changes). After booting and logging in again, I find that many services are not running. I ran a very thorough check for malware and viruses (took over 24 hours to complete), and still no solutions. I have uninstalled/reinstalled my Broadcom 802.11g Wireless Driver several times.
I now look in the Event Viewer and find that the DHCP Client service is not running! It is set to automatic start in Services.msc, but when I try to manually start it, it gives me error 1075 (some dependencies do not exist or are marked for deletion). Running ipconfig, I notice that my system is using an APIPA-formatted address (169.254.x.x), indicating that the computer couldn't find a DHCP server.

This is really bad.. I cant copy and paste to backup files for reformat and this sony laptop is telling me that the recovery will delete all files, so no option to do a windows repair. I might need to buy a 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor for this mess im in, if you cant help.. I did many things so far nothing worked..

I had a virus that would not allow me to get any icons, this was fixed after i ran avg in safe mode.

When i got back into the machine I received many pop ups one after another, ad-aware was run and after I cannot start any services, I have everything set to start in msconfig i have admin I cant change users, i cant do windows search, cant see any networks in network places nothing i cant even copy and paste the paste option is Grey when i try to copy then paste...

Every service I try to start i get error 1075 dependency service does not exist for all services.

also the Extended services tab give me nothing not list of any services only the standard tab.. I can click start and i get the error.

also Ad-aware gives me an error too when it tries to start system error 1810 has occurred service is not online.

Maybe i need to do a system restore i hope i don't lose all the pictures etc.. I cant copy and paste and its a laptop so i would need an adapter to put it on a desktop.. i think i will be OK with a system restore.

Avg found two trojans. It didn't seem like it removed them. Internet was working though. Ran malwarebytes it found nothing. Internet was still working. Started Having connectivity issues. My dhcp client service won't start. I got a 1075 error. my internet via wifi or wired. I ran the following command prompts:
net start AFD (response: the requested has already been started)
netsh int ip reset reset.log (response: resetting echo request, failed. Access is denied. Rebooting interface, ok! A reboot is required to complete this action.
netsh winsock reset catalog (response: successfully reset the winsock catalog. You must restart the computer in order to complete the reset.
SFC /SCANNOW (scan finishes and shows this response: windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the cbs.log windir\logs\cbs\cbs.log

Apparently something called print spooling is not working on my computer. I get error message 1075: the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion. I believe this is why the installation won't go all the way to the end. The computer recognizes the printer but won't go ahead and finish installing it. Anybody got any suggestions?

Not sure why this problem is persisting. I appear to have all the dependent files. I have run SFC/ scannow to no avail. I cannot start the services in question. The 1075 error message continues. I have attached my system info.

A:Solved: DHCP client and TCPIP Netbios helper 1075 error

I was able to restart DHCP services by deleting the registry entry and rebooting. I went into the registry editor, located the DHCP subkey, right click on dependonservice and clicked on delete.
However TCPIP Netbios helper I could still not start, even after running sfc/scannow.
The solution for me was to restore the operating system to an earlier point in time. In windows xp, go to programs> accessories>disk utilities> system restore and follow the directions. I suppose I could have done that for both problems? At least I didnít have to reinstall XP!

Anyway I can connect to internet now
