I have Recently purchased a Lenovo Yoga 2. 11.6 inch screen Laptop. With N 3530 processor. I am having problems with it freezing up and it makes a horrible loud buzzing sound. No buttons respond, mouse won't function and touch screen does not respond. In the end I have to press and hold power button to get it to switch off then turn on again. The problem mainly happens when watching videos. Using Netflix app is the worst.  The buzzing sound seems to be coming from speakers. I have checked error logs and the main errors showing are one about display can't tell brightness settings and another about Netflix app.  I have tried to uninstall netfix app and reinstall but it makes no difference. Also problem is not just with netfix. I have been to Lenovo website and have updated some drivers. I updated bios but this did not improve things. I have tried to update display drivers as one of errors happening a lot recently is about the display. I downloaded correct drivers for my laptop from Lenovo website But it won't let me install them. I get a error message saying customised manufacturer drivers installed so can't install. Contact manufacture for correct drivers. What is wrong is there any way to fix or will I have to return laptop. Also keyboard and touch pad do  not disable in tent or stand mode. Making stand mode in particular impossible to use. why is this and again is it possible to fix this. I ... Update your bios & drivers(mostly WLAN,GRAPHICS & AUDIO DRIVERS) uninstall drivers fully before installing ...... run command SFC  /SCANNOW to ensure windows files integrity,If any problems found while scanning do another command dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth...it could take some time..... after it completes 100 %  then run again SFC /SCANNOW command...... Check your antivirus is running properly or not(advice-donot use McAffee,Use BitDefender or Kaspersky or even free antivirus like Avast or Avira)..... Keep an eye on taskmanager for any suspicious programs if any found to your knowledge check its properities and google it...... Check your network has vulnerability issues... mostly open hotspot..... Hey guys, strange problem, unit started freezing before it could go the desktop so I did a system restore and now can easily get to the desktop but first issue is that the owner always had to enter his password to enter windows, now that doesn''t happen, when booted the system will go straight to windows. Also rightlicking on the main folders such as My Pictures My Documents e.t.c doesn't work so I am guessing it's a permissions issue. I looked at the Folder Options but not seeing anything there regarding permissions, I want to advise the owner to backup all files first before I should proceed to do anything but since I can't copy and paste that won't work, any ideas please?

I would run a hard drive diagnostic...to deal with any questions I might have regarding the fundamental capability of the hard drive before assuming it's an O/S or other problem.  Chkdsk /r is NOT a hard drive diagnostic, it's a file system tool.

Hi all,

I bought a Lenovo G555 laptop in new condition, and it can't be more than two years old. For quite some time, it's had several annoying problems. Most notably, it occasionally completely freezes; this can occur while using it, or when opening the lid after it has not been in use. The second issue is that the time it takes to boot up is no less than 20 to 30 minutes. This occurs whether the computer is restarted or booted up after being off.

Here are the remedies I have already tried:

-Restoring to factory condition (several times)
-Daily antivirus scans (full scans once a week) with the most up to date virus definitions (I use avast! and nothing is detected)
-Full Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware scans with the most up to date definitions (no malware found)

I do not have an extreme amount of software installed, as I think I'm pretty careful about what I install on my PCs.

On top of this, beginning today, Windows is now reporting there is a problem with the battery and it needs to be replaced, but the problems described above began long before this happened.

I don't know if this makes any difference, but this PC is nearly always plugged in, as we only unplug it to take it elsewhere on fairly rare occasions.

Your help would greatly be appreciated.

A:Incredibly Long Boot Times and Freezing on Lenovo Laptop

I don't know if this makes any difference, but this PC is nearly always plugged in, as we only unplug it to take it elsewhere on fairly rare occasionsThe battery depletion came from here obviously. Has it ever been clean internally? Run a hardware diagnostic test for the hard drive and RAM stick if the laptop came with a built-in testing one to check for any errors.

Hi,  I bought a Lenovo Ideapad 300 a few months ago and its been freezing a lot, at first it was once in awhile, every few days and I didn't really notice it all. However it has now started to freeze multiple times a day and I don't understand why. I could be watching a video on YouTube or facebooking friends or on a call on Discord and bang it will freeze, no logic or reason to what I'm doing which would casue it to freeze but it does freeze.  I read someone suggest that Microsoft Edge could be causing the probelm but I don't use Edge, I use chrome for all my major browsing.  When it freezes I have to hard reset my laptop which constantly doing that isn't great.  Could anyone provide any possible insight or help?

For the past couple of months, the mousepad has been really glitchy. It is almost impossible to use now. The cursor keeps freezing and only hitting enter or the fn +f6 key helps is unfreeze temporarily (as in for a couple of minutes). Apart from that, any webpage or file I open, the screen automatically goes to the bottom of it. This is obviously connected to the mouse pad issue somehow. I tried reinstalling the drivers from the Lenovo website and it didn't help. I checked the hardware using the Synaptics Pointing Device Pressure Graph and Moodmap. Everything seems to be working well. This makes me believe it's a software issue. Please help me fix this.

I've worked on my neighbors laptop a few times before and never had an issue getting it back up to snuff. Now I'm having a heck of a time getting it to stop freezing and slowing down.

Specs
Windows 8.1 (x64)
Intel i5 Processor
6 GB RAM
1TB HDD

I've run adwarecleaner, jrt, and installed Ccleaner. I also have Avast Free installed which I run concurrently with Malwarebytes.  There are minimal programs on startup; no malicious installed software.  Windows updates and device drivers are up-to-date.

It will run fine for 5 to 10 minutes and then completely bogs down.  The cursor will actually freeze on the screen.  Proccessor usage hardly goes over 50% if ever and memory usage stays below 40% even after running a while.  Chrome and Firefox both crash often enough even after resetting and reinstalling them.

I'm not sure what else to check/do besides a reinstall of windows but I'm hoping I'm just forgetting something obvious.  I'd rather not reinstall if I can help it.

I've been experiencing a lot of weird quirks with my Yoga 2, and I'm not sure whether Windows 8.1, my specific combination or drivers, or a hardware issue is to blame.  The most consistent, and annoying issue, is the laptop constantly freezes after putting it to sleep.  It is almost transparent -- I never see the blue screen, because I've already closed the laptop.  I just open it up, the Lenovo logo pops up, and it turns out my computer has rebooted.  The windows event log confirms that a critical error has occurred. I've performed a factory reset and it still occurs.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

A:Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Freezing after sleep

Hi,I have the same problem with my yoga 2 pro. I've tried to find solutions but none of them work for me. My best guess is that the new hardware have compatibility issues with windows 8.1. My spec is i7 4500 8GB RAM 256GB SSDBTW, you can avoid this frustration by disable Sleep mode. I use Hybernate mode for both my power botton and lid-close actions. Setting are in Power Options.I hope Lenovo take this seriously, it's a shame that we have to experience all this. Don't they care about branding?

I purchase 2 of these desktops at the same time and have been experiencing random lock-ups on both of them over the last few months. I have updated the BIOS, done all Windows updates and have just recently upgraded them both to Windows 10......but the freezing is still evident. I would say that on average one of the 2 desktops freezes every 3-4 days and there is no pattern to what the computer is doing when it decides to lock up. When the lock-up occurs I am still able to see the screen but the mouse and keyboard inputs no longer register and I'm unable to change the Caps Lock status on the keyboard either. The only way to restore service is to either hold down the power button for 5 seconds or unplug the base unit. I have seen a few others who have posted online with similar issues but no mention of a resolution.

Hi. I'm having the following warning: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0001 I have a Lenovo H50 Desktop (Win 10) and last night or early this morning something happened to my PC as when I went to use it, I did see the power light still on (screen was in power saver mode, but when I clicked on any key or on the mouse, nothing was happening and the PC was apparantly unresponsive (or in some sort of "hibernation") and I had to basically hold down the power button until the PC shut off. I then powered it back on but still nothing happened. So, before I started to freak out (I got this PC in December so not that long ago), I again held down the power button to force shutoff then I unplugged the PC for a minute or two, then plugged back in and powered the PC back on. At least this time it booted up, but it seemed to come up to the "lock screen" rather than the usual main login screen - again as if it was in some sort of strange sleep or hibernation mode with someone logged in.. I then confirmed this by choosing to restart the system and it did give a warning that some users may lose information..blah blah, but I chose to do the fresh restart anyway. After the restart, it booted up normally to the main login screen.  I did look in the event viewer but did NOT see any Critical events in the past hr or 24 hrs, a few Errors (none that I could see that explained the freeze) but saw these Warnings: ?  Is something occasio... Hello,I have a Lenovo z50-75 which just lately has been prone to crashing. This crash freezes my laptop and displays coloured lines all over my screen, forcing a hard shutdown by holding the power button. This crash will happen whenever I update the graphics card drivers, usually during the process. This crash can also happen randomly as shown in the attached picture where I had just installed a clean version of windows 10 and processed to reinstall my steam games, but oh no bam it crashed. I am running latest AMD drivers, using drivers from the lenovo website will crash still. I cannot perform any tasks on this laptop without it crashing, watching videos or playing games usually ends in a crash. I need a working laptop for university next month, not one that crashes every hour or so.

Hello 8-forums.

I'm posting on behalf of my little brother since he isn't the sharpest when it comes to computers. Today his computer started freezing and crashing out of nowhere at completely random times. I couldn't pinpoint an activity he was doing which might have caused it.

On top of that a pop-up kept coming up on his screen about his screen driver having crashed and has been restored. I happen to have the same laptop and I've had this problem for a week or 2 too, but nothing happens when it shows up on my screen (unlike his, where it crashes the computer). His screen now also has blue matrix-like lines all over his screen as a result of todays crashes.

I asked him to send the Zip-file from the DM log collector tool. He only had a BSoD once and he didn't notice the error code. The rest were freezes (forced to restart) and crashes (no BSoD screen).

Hope you can help find a solution to my brothers problem.
Regards Jens and Walther

Right after rebooting OS using the Power button BIOS almost always (always on Windows, sometimes on Ubuntu) doesn't see my SSD disk. I have to restart laptop several times. lenovo yoga 3 pro 1370, 10 months old, upgraded to W10 Sept 2015, installed new drivers for W10, latest BIOS (a6cn58ww), all W10 updates installed. Here is the problem: since a couple of weeks, the system freezes when I move the screen (but only pulling it towards me) when the Broadcom 802.11ac is enabled. If I disable the Broadcom Network adapter in the device manager everything is fine and can move my screen without problems. Once I enable it BOOM ! I have posted this on other forum, and was able to get some relief (for 24h...) by doing the following: 1) I uninstalled the Broadcom driver and also checked the box ?delete the driver software for this device?2) I double clicked on the latest driver (4abe02af) and followed the instructions3) BUT at a certain point during the re-installation it asked me if I wanted to ?uninstall? the driver which I found strange as I had already uninstalled it from the device manager, so I clicked yes and it said ?uninstall complete? or something similar4) Out of curiosity I launched again the installation of new driver, and this time it installed without asking me whether I would uninstall it5) Rebooted the system, the problem disappeared for about 24h, then re-surface and still on.  So I am now facing again the old problem. One suggestion..... I'm wondering after you straightened out the driver problem if Windows 10 didn't automatically reinstall the problem driver back again.  Windows 10 is good for giving driver updates whether you want them or not.  Try turning off the auto driver updates, reinstall the new driver and then see if that makes a difference.  This article will explain how to stop the auto updates of drivers......

Hello,

I recently renewed a rattling fan in my E220s. Since then I get permanent freezes every time, starting from ca. 5 to 40 minutes on. I checked with Sandra, and to my understanding no temperature sensor shows anything abnormal.

Since the thermal pad on the chip to the left from the CPU (northbridge?) seemed worn, I renewed it also with a 1 mm 7W pad. After dismantling again it does seem not the whole (but no less than 80%) of the chip's surface is hard pressed to the pad. I understand it's all the screws that keep the structure tight, but I have no more ideas on how it can be wrongly fit - or improved. Please note I have dismantled the laptop including the fan assembly several times before, without any noticeable issues. Yes I do use thermal grease/spread for the CPU.

Many thanks in advance,

Recently my computer has been occasionally freezing while I've been browsing online. It doesn't actually get to the point of BSOD but programs will stop working and I eventually won't be able to close or open anything, including task manager.

I tried running CHKDSK to see if that could fix things, (it has crashed since then unfortuantely), doing so somehow filled up my hard drive. I went from having around 700 GB free to only having a couple hundred MBs free. I tried this two more times.

I've attached the dump log as requested as well as the three logs of the CHKDSK that I found in event viewer.

Hello and welcome Baxter mate some more in depth specs please as that model Googles up as a laptop.
If you use this and find out what the motherboard is it would help a bit more

Using HW Info general components

DownloadHW Info and pick the right bit version - HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download - (copy andpaste this site into the search bar) If you do not need the running informationin the smaller right hand panel close it. In the left hand window click on the+ for the individual device groupings and they will open out to the variouscomponents.

Go onopening out further until you get to the device itself. click on it and it willhighlight. In the right hand window there will be a very detailed descriptionof that device as in brand, speeds model number etc etc These are very detailedand are just what is needed for searching for drivers etc.

See my picfor an example - in this I have opened out one my components and then highlighted one of the one you need andyou can see the detail.
But I want you to open Motherboard

PS I did mean to add please see this for posting back pics of the screen

The problem I've been having is this: Lately, for the past 2-3 days or so, my wifi adapter would suddenly die-- meaning I can't connect to my home router or anyone else's, and when I try to use Windows' "Troubleshoot problems" feature, it would always get stuck at either "looking for problems with connectivity" or "resetting your wifi adapter". When I try to go into the advance settings to manually disable/enable my wifi adapter for myself, it would never actually work. When I try to click on the icon in the system tray, nothing would happen and it wouldn't pop up with the list of available networks like usual.

At this point, the only thing I can do is restart or shut down my laptop, but sometimes even that doesn't go throu... Read more

Hi all,

This is my first post and I am so thankful I found this forum!
My laptop, in the past 2-3 days, has been freezing up. I have not downloaded anything in that timeframe.
At first it was when there was no activity for a while and the screen would just go black and I would have to manually restart the pc. Now, the freezing is more regular.and it freezes without going black but still I have to manually restart. I have F-Secure virus, updated, and during a full scan it freezes. I downloaded Malwarebytes and it also freezes in full scan.
I believe they are both freezing in the same spot: c:windows/winsxs/x86_security-malware-windows-defender...
I tried to target scan just that area and it freezes.

I did a quick scan with Malwarebytes and this is what it found:

Basically i have a Lenovo ThinkPad L530 laptop.

I've created the recovery DVDs, but unbeknown to me at the time - you're only allowed to create one set. What i'd like is to put this onto a USB stick.

Currently i have:

DVD #1 - Boot Media: (312mb)

The boot DVD containing "BOOT" folder, BootMgr file which is quite small & Winre.Wim at about 300mb.

DVD #2 - Data DVD #1: (4.03GB)

factory recovery folder, recovery folder & Autorun file

DVD #3 - Data DVD #2: (3.87GB)

factory recovery folder & recovery folder (NO autorun file)

DVD #4 - Data DVD #3: (3.04GB)

factory recovery folder, recovery folder, LenovoQDrive file, qdrive icon file.
My USB stick is 16GB capacity.

So basically i'd like to make the USB stick the recovery media. I can't do this from the laptop as Lenovo only let you create one ......... so how can i do this? Can i do this would be the first question & if so - how?

A:Creating Lenovo Laptop Recovery media from DVDs. Laptop wont let me do

Hi Nelly I also have an Lenovo its a different model than yous is but I can make as many copies of the recovery discs
as I want . You could make a systems image which would be a lot better than the recovery discs as with them you will always have the bloated software that comes with Lenovo models saying that you would need a lot more space than your 16gb usb drive .

Hi,

I've got a Lenovo edge 13 laptop, which i want to use for a bit of gaming, which requires me to use the F1-F12 keys. However when i want to use one of those keys i first need to press the Fn key, which is quite annoying.
So i want to sortof "invert" the Fn key, so that when i click F1 i get F1, not Mute. And for mute i'd need to hold Fn and then click F1.
(Or just take away the other functions on the F-buttons alltogether)

I heard there was a way, but that required access to the BIOS, which i dun have on this laptop, since it's a school computer. And our IT techs at school are lazy bums, there's no way they'd take the bother to help me out.

So, is there any other way, which doesn't require the BIOS? :)
I did google this a little, but nothing good turned up.

A:Lenovo laptop Fn key

Sorry, but I think the only way is through the BIOS. My laptop is the same.

So I have been tasked with a report to define why exactly it was we switched from Lenovo to HP laptops.

We were using the X61 Lenovo model when someone came up with the bright idea we switch over to the HP Elitebook 2530P models.

What brought this research project on was that we are having what seems to be more issues with the HP's (hardware, physical damage, performance and support is in my opinion far behind what we had with Lenovo) Again (and this is my opinion) the Lenovo's were solid machines, work-horses if you will. The specs of the HP 2530P are as follows:

Windows XP Pro SP3

1. Board: Hewlett-Packard 30E1 KBC Version 03.16
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz

2. 1.20 gigahertz Intel Core2 Duo
64 kilobyte primary memory cache
3072 kilobyte secondary memory cache
64-bit ready
Multi-core (2 total)
Not hyper-threaded

3. 80.02 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity SATA 5400 RPM

4. 2048 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory - DDR2 - PC2-6400 400MHz - FSB DRAM 1:2 - DRAM FREQ 399.0

5. Display - Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family [Display adapter] (2x)

6. Intel(R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller

7. Wireless - Broadcom 4322AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter

8. Ethernet - Intel(R) 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection

Also, what can you tell me about the differences in the memory?

A:HP vs Lenovo (laptop)

I guess it really depends on "what" it is exactly that you are intending to use the computer for. System specs are system specs, plain and simple. Better specs equals better performance.

Lenovo is an exception to this rule in the sense that they have a much better manufacturing reputation and tend to focus more on part quality than cost. That is why they carry a higher price tag.

Its going to come down to what you are using it for.

Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 OS. The laptop shut down while plugged in overnight. I have removed the battery and let it sit for hours to cool/reset. Upon power up, the hard drive light comes on for 2-3 seconds, then goes off. Sometimes the screen flickers white for another 2-3 seconds, but the OS never boots up. I have removed the hard drive and plugged it into another computer via a SATA cable. I was able to read data. The drive appears to be working. I ran Malware Bytes and it cleared off some suspect files (PUP.FunWebProducts and PUP.MyWebSearch). I have a log file to post if helpful. When I put the hard drive back into the laptop, I get the same result as before. I made a recovery disc on another Win 7 computer and attempted to boot the Lenovo from the disc, but still I get the same result. Is this a BIOS issue, failed HD controller, or something else?

A:Lenovo Laptop Will Not Boot even from cd

Welcome to the Seven Forums Brannok. It may be a BIOS issue in that the optical drive is not set as the first device to boot from. Has that been checked?

Does the Laptop boot from a pen drive? If yes then you can perhaps clean install W 7 via that route.

hey,

i've recently installed Windows 7 on top of my XP OS, from an usb drive. the installation was smooth without any problems, windows loaded fine. but i closed my laptop, and came back in evening and tried running it. it always hangs at the white screen with LENOVO letters on it and some Intel and Pheonix markers. I can't load anything by pressing f1, delete or f10, f12 buttons. It is probably bad config with the existing lenovo files system, because w7 made windows.old folder, yeah you know what is it...
i would try to format it, but i can't since it doesn't get past that screen.( can't load the cd)
i need the answer very fast because im flying to other country soon and i need to install it and use it !

ANY help would be appreciated, like how to reformat it...
oh and i dled the w7 ultimate 32bit version, but can't get in on disk since i don't have one ( dvd ) but it worked on my usb stick...

A:Lenovo laptop isn't loading

Probably nothing wrong with Windows, something about the BIOS has gotten confused, seen this on Fujitsu's.

Disconnect the power, remove the battery. Put them back in, try and boot with no peripherals connected, it should be OK.

Hi All,
I have a Lenovo 3000 series Y410 laptop which has a S-Video port ( I am assuming it is outgoing). My TV has a RCA input. I thought of playing a video onto my TV and connected using a cabled having S-Video input on one ed and 3RCA cables on the other end(they plug into the tv).

However, when I switch to VCR (any mode other than TV).. all I get a blank screen / blue screen.

1. I am having a Windows Vista Home Premium.
2. In Windows Mobility Centre, I have switched on my projector and tried to find additional screens.
3. I switched off my laptop, connected to tv and switched it on, also changed the mode to search for additional screens on startup (thru NVidia menu that comes with this laptop)
4. After all, I pressed the Function(FN)+3, so that it would switch to various screen modes.
5. I tried searching for additional screen, but to no avail.

Can anybody suggest if I did miss anything or left any stone unturned.

Cheers

A:how to connect lenovo laptop to TV

i suspect the TV is a composite input
you need an S-Video to Composite adapter

is this waht you have ?

F3 maybe the VGA output on the laptop - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

we need to look at the manual to see how to switch the S-Video on ... I'll try and lookup

as you say FN + F3 appears to be the toggle -
does the TV have an AV input for the S-Video to be selected

Hello guys! I'm new here. I recently bought a laptop (model in the subject) and I noticed that over the keyboard was warm... After I check underneath the laptop, I noticed that was too hot! In low~medium use of the system, the average of the temperature is 56C! Is it normal? The cooler doens't spin but everytime that the system is booting up, I can hear the sound of the cooler spinning (like if was cheking if it's ok). This is odd. The other situation that the cooler spin is when I do some tests with Lenovo tool (stress test, to be precise). Should I contact the suport to check personaly what is happening with my laptop or is it normal? Awaiting for an instruction! Thanks in advance!! Alex

Hi everyone,

My apprentice is trying to help his significant other out with her laptop and I am having the hardest time figuring this out myself. Her laptop is appearing to be power light blinking at a slowed pace. The laptop can be plugged in, unplugged, doesn't matter, does it regardless until the battery dies or she holds the power button to force the shut down. The problem is, when she gets the computer powered on again, the computer doesn't act properly. I know I am being vague, but I don't have the computer in front of me. The only time I had the computer in my hands, was a few weeks ago when I ran a PC-Doctor USB diagnostic tool from my business and found nothing wrong with the hardware. I am leaning more towards a setting somewhere, but my apprentice swears he checked all of it.

Has anyone encountered this before? The next thing I am thinking of throwing on the table is to do a CMOS reset, but I haven't had time to grab the laptop from her and take it apart to do so.

Laptop: Lenovo Flex 2-15 20405 specifications | Hardware.Info United States

Any suggestions would be welcomed!

Thanks!

Hello guys, im looking on ebay, to buy a 8GB ram (since this laptop has only 1 ram slot) for my lenovo g50-30 laptop, but i dont know which model do i need, can someone help me with this ? (with links will be more helpfull )

A:Need Ram Upgrate for my Lenovo Laptop ?

I'd go to Crucial.com and let their RAM configurator sniff your laptop and let it tell you what Crucial RAM is compatible.

You also might want to go to the Lenovo support site for your particular model and see if they have any sort of approved RAM or detailed specs.

I'd be antsy about buying RAM from Ebay when there are so many easily found alternatives. Maybe not in Albania?

I'd stick with a well known brand--Corsair, Crucial, Gskill, Kingston (Hyper X).

But the vendor is at least as important as the brand. If the RAM is compatible and "works", you'll never notice the difference between brands. But you WILL notice the difference between vendors if there is the slightest problem.

I had my friend bring over his laptop because it started running slower than it should. According to him, he has more of a problem running games (particularly LoL), but that it just runs slower in general.
I've gone into the msconfig to look at the services and startup, and there was nothing suspicious there. The task manager says that the CPU has pretty large spikes, but all I could find through there was that windows defender was using quite a bit of the CPU. So, since he has ESET on his laptop, I disabled windows defender (also by my boyfriends advice too. He's an IT guy, but has been too busy lately to really help too much on this).
I've also ran the windows updates that it needed. I have run ESET, superantispyware, and malwarebytes, and they haven't picked up on anything.
I went to the AMD site to update the graphics drivers. Got the Catalyst Control Center installed from that.
The C drive was 8% fragmented, so I defragged that.
I got ccleaner from cnet as well and ran that. Cleared out the noticeably useless things.
It has made it run a tad bit faster, but there is still something bogging it down.

Hello and welcome,

What you describe is usually the result of a failed or corrupted hard drive.  It doesn't see a bootable drive so it tries a network boot.

If it's dead it will of course require a replacement.  If it's corrupted to the extent that the recovery tools aren't accessible some kind of recovery media will be required.

You could contact local support and order media or use the Microsoft download and try a clean install.  That should at least tell you if the drive is alive.

Those machines shipped with Win 8.1 or 10.  You should be able to download the OS and create media here.  OS links are at the bottom of the page.  You won't need a key for 8.1 or 10.

Can you boot into safe mode? You will need to tap the F8 key continously while the machine is booting. then from the menu that appears select safe mode. Once you are in safe mode you should be able to uninstall the ofending driver by navigating to control panel, opening up device manager, looking for anything that displays as a problem (usually an excalation mark or question mark) you can install update themin your case locate the RealTek driver and if possible roll back, if that option isnt available then try to uninstall. once that is done restart and see if you can boot into windows normally..

I am searching for a new laptop to replace my 4 year old Sony Vaio with an i3. I need it to be at least an i5 processor, with a screen size of 15.6 inches. I also need it to have good battery life, preferably with a playback time of at least 6 hours. Currently I'm looking at getting a Lenovo U530. A link for this laptop is provided below:

Lenovo U530 Touch 15.6" Ultrabook Refurbished - Silver 59RF0568 - Micro Center

Does anyone have any thoughts on Lenovo?

A:Lenovo Student Laptop

Playback when it comes to battery life is a misnomer it depends on what you are doing on the laptop for example streaming video via the internet, the wifi signal strength (a weak single can drain the battery), how many programs are running at one time etc.... also which power setting you have set. Battery life of 6 hours to me means if you are not doing anything on the laptop and it is setting idle. I tend to stay away from refurbished laptops, gadgets because they were fixed meaning they had either something wrong with it via hardware.

The laptop I have (specs under my avatar) the battery only lasts up to maybe two hours or if I am watching Netflix using wired internet connection.

Two days ago my cats knocked my laptop off my desk and then knocked a glass of water on top of it! Arrgh.(anyone looking to adopt 2 frisky cats?)After drying out for 2 days it won't start at all. No lights nothing. I took it apart when it happened and wiped down whatever i could but because of how it landed, like a tent *** end up, i thought the motherboard and keyboard hadn't been affected so i didn't take off the top and check, silly me. So now I would like to do that but am not certain how it's done and don't want to mess it up, well anymore than it is of course. So here are my questions:
1) how do I take off top to check motherboard?
2) what am I looking at in terms of possible problem areas and how do I address them?
Its really important to have inexpensive solutions because I'm disabled and have little in the way of extra income. My computer is my pretty much my only entertainment and without it...well I'm sure you all understand.
Thx for all you do. Looking forward to any solutions out there.

Hi guys, sorry to make two posts about the same thing, but I couldn't find a delete button for the other :S

Anyway, I have been looking at a Lenovo Z570 laptop for somebody.
It had a fresh install of windows and all drivers where installed and everything in that sense seems fine. The problem is, when you either try and shut down the laptop, or restart the laptop, the computer seems to power down as normal, the screen goes off etc, but, the power light and everything else stays on, and it stays in this state.

I haven't left it for a long time, to see if it turns off itself, but after about 10minutes, I just have to press the power button for it to turn off.

It cannot be software, as I did a clean install myself to see if it would help, and when the computer restarts halfway through the install, I again have to keep hold of the power button to help it through.

I don't know if this is a hardware fault, or could it possibly be a setting that needs changing somewhere?

Thanks in advance

Hello all, my Lenovo y400 laptop will not boot past the Lenovo logo. After about five minutes I get the "your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. We are just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you" error with the message "unmountable boot volume" under it. After restarting it will try to initialize the recovery tool automatically , but after about 5 minutes it restarts and does the process all over.  I'm guessing there are either corrupted files on the HD or that the HD is broken. I've tried using a recovery usb  to restore or reset the computer but it seems that the usb doesn't boot either, the screen just goes black and stays like that until I turn it off. I have exhausted my limited computer knowledge in trying to fix this problem and I'm not sure what else to try. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey, please help.

My Lenovo z510 keeps shutting down randomly, probably like once a week. It happens when it's being used and you can hear the hard drive crunching away. It also seems pretty slow for an i7, my desktop is a 4 yr old amd (can't remember what) but it's much faster.

Warranty expires in a few weeks and already opened a case with Lenovo but those jerks said if they can't recreate the problem, then there is no problem. I need to go to them with some sort of proof something is wrong. I ran inteleburn and it seemed to run fine.

Hi

I've been experiencing BSOD for the last two weeks (3 times total). My first BSOD occurred a couple of months ago (the date in the minidump is incorrect), but is thought it was a some temporary glitch in the windows. However, as I said in the last couple of weeks I had 3 BSOD, which occurred while I was on youtube, or listening to music while doing something else.

The laptop comes with hardware diagnostic tool, which I regularly used. My system passed every time (no errors of any kind). I have not installed any new hardware, so I don't know what the problem could be. I noticed that before the crash there is weird noise coming from the speakers.

Here are all the requested files. I appreciate all the help.

I can't read your MSINFO32 file. Please do the following:

Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Also, save a copy as a .txt file and include it also (it's much more difficult to read, but we have greater success in getting the info from it).

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on Win7 systems due to the sptd.sys driver.

What OS (Operating System) are you using? To shutdown firefox, right click the taskbar & on the menu that pops up left click Start Task Manager & go to the Processes Tab,find firefox, highlight it & click End process. You might get a pop up asking you to confirm it,click yes & X out of Task Manager.
You need to install Malwarebytes on the harddrive. Once its installed, update it & run a (full) scan.

HDD: 1TB
GPU: Intel HD Graphics (64MB-128MB scalable)

Laptop came with Windows 8.1 with Bing but I removed that in favor of Windows 10 Insider Preview which worked fine until I made clean install with genuine product key (Dreamspark Premium).

For most daily usage I use Chrome to do my work online (Gmail, Outlook.com, college webmail, Facebook, YouTube, few news portal and few catholic portals, 3 forums, PayPal) and when I have some spare time I try to test this free software for video editing and video transcoding (so I can install them on my main PC which I should update thread with new security configuration). For anything else I'm connected to my personal WiFi which is WPA2/PSK protected.

From the last couple of months my laptop has got very very slow and even a single click on any of the file takes a lot of time to respond. It took a huge amount of time to boot the system. I did the defragmentation and remove the temp files but this is also of no use. I believe there are so many unwanted background processes are going but dont know how to find them and remove them. PF usage of the system is always showing to consume the memory more than 550 - 700 MB. Please advice!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon, Not sure if anyone has seen this before. I previously used an ASUS laptop but have moved on to a Lenovo Y70-70 Touch Laptop. All of a sudden (22nd October) something happened overnight and when I used laptop next day it seemed really really slow and when used for football manager 17 (beta) the preference screen stated I had a really low quality graphics card. I then started looking more depth and notices that the desk top picture had reverted to the screen picture my old ASUS laptop had, which was simply a picture of the laptop itself. I have no clue how this happened or how I fix it. I seem to have lost a lot of quality the Lenovo laptop had and seem to have revert to ASUS on my new laptop

I've had this laptop for 9 months, never had a problem. Earlier the battery went down to 7% so I grabbed my charger to plug it in but as soon as I plugged the charger in, the laptop just swithched off. It didn't shut down or anything, it just switch off. I've now had the charger plugged in for 3 hours and the charging light hasn't turned on and the laptop won't turn on at all. I've tried changing the fuse of the charger and even taking the battery out and putting it back in again but nothing has worked. Please help! :/

A:Lenovo z50-70 Laptop won't turn on or charge?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Have you tried clearing the CMOS to see if it will help resolve the problem ?  Just follow this procedure.....

1. Unplug the charger / adapter. 2. Remove the battery. 3. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. 4. Re-install the battery, plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.

If that doesn't resolve the problem then I recommend you contact Lenovo Support for warranty service.

Hi.I'm becoming crazy . I bought a lenovo laptop 3000 N200 a week ago, and it came with Windows Vista Home basic (32bit).It worked almost perfectly until now,and for any reason this blue screen with this 0x0000007e error appears. I tried EVERYTHING in pressing F8 and triying to do the repair stuff, and then triying to run from the last successful session but it only gets worse. I don't have the cd of the OS so I can't reinstall it, and if I search for backups there is nothing.
I know this all sounds very stupid but I can't understand how a brand new computer can turn into this!

My Lenovo T61p laptop continues to hibernate unexpectedly. Oftentimes, it will be when I have several programs open, but it also occurs sometimes with only 1 program open.

To resolve, I simply press the power button, log back on, and the computer will either: continue working normally or hibernate again. I often have to go through this process several times until it continues to operate normally.

Oftentimes the laptop will be hot to the touch. I've downloaded SpeedFan to monitor temperatures. The laptop just hibernated about 20 minutes ago. The Current temp readings: GPU: 70C, Core 0: 75C, Core 1: 74C

Any help would be most appreciated.

A:Lenovo laptop unexpected hibernation

Those temps on Core 0 and 1 in my opinion are a bit high. Is that the highest you have seen them go? The hybernate might actually be the system shutting down to prevent damage from heat. When using your laptop, make sure you aren't blocking the vents on the bottom with your legs. You might try picking up a laptop cooler pad to see if that helps.

A:how do i reboot a lenovo 4446 laptop

That doesn't look to be a complete model number. However there's a good chance it uses the 'onekey' recovery system for a factory reset (I'm assuming that's what you want). I believe you hold down that key while turning it on to boot to the recovery partition. Here's some info from a previous thread:http://www.computing.net/answers/wi...If successful that will restore the system to the way it was when you bought it. Usually that means you lose all the added software and personal files although sometimes there's a option to keep those files. Best to check the manual for your particular model for exact details.Edit I think this is the manual for your model:http://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/m... Apparently it's called the Lenovo 'Care' Button. Details are on page 99 of the manual. Looks like you can also press F11 or ENTER when the Lenovo logo appears.message edited by DAVEINCAPS

After a week i contacted them that nothing had changed in the repaie service tool upon which the tool update saying "the part is not available, we are trying to acquire it". Hello Everyone and good day J

I have a lenovo laptop model SL-510 TYPE 2847-BWG

And I want to Upgrade his Memory

So I have been read Detailed specifications in the site of lenovo about my laptop model

( i attached the link in the end of the post )

and see that my laptop model support up to 8GB maximum memory with Dual-channel capable

Then I noticed under the specifications this details :

Memory
PC3-8500 Non-Parity (NP) Double Data Rate Three (DDR3) Technology
PC3-10600 Non-Parity (NP) Double Data Rate Three (DDR3) Technology
Dual-channel capable
Two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets
1 GB, 2GB, 3GB, 4GB,
Supports up to 8GB maximum memory

So of course I would rather upgrade to 8gb ram with 2x4GB

Because I just have two slots ?

But I'm a little confused ? What's better? The PC3-8500 or the PC3-10600 ?

And should I take two sticks of the same model ? same company ?

for they be work on dual Together ?

Of course, I'd love you to recommend me suitable types of memories models

And Recommended Companies

PC10600 is faster.

It's best to buy a pair of identical sticks (they don't have to be in a kit), but if you're buying the cheapest available then there's little point looking for two different companies. Just buy two at the same time.

I'll miss a few I suspect, but the following brands tend to be okay: "Kingston", "Corsair", "Crucial", "G.Skill", "OCZ"

I have a Lenovo laptop running Vista. I have tried all suggestions from "help" regarding the sound controls. I see the volume up as high as it will go, but the volume when I am watching a dvd is so low that I cannot hear it if I am eating! (No, I am not an excessively loud chewer.) I am using Windows Media Player and have adjusted sound control there to highest. It seems that my laptop should have higher sound, but maybe I am wrong. Thanks.

A:Solved: Lenovo laptop sound too low

Yes, you may be wrong. Laptops in general are not noted for their volume. Most are used in places that often won't allow loud sounds to begin with. And then some DVD's seem to have low volume as well, making the problem even worse. If other sounds are pretty good, even if not really "loud", then your laptop is probably doing what it should.

External, add-on speakers are available, of course. I have some Logitech USB speakers that have a great sound and are very loud. But that is not what you want to hear, I imagine. In some cases, I have demuxed the movie, increased the volume with Mp3Gain, and then re-multiplexed it. But that is not practical as a standard approach.

Make sure that you have checked all the settings available to you, like the volume control in the player as well as all the mixer settings (right- or double-click volume icon). Some players, like Media Player Classic, have volume-boosting capabilities (under Audio Switcher in Settings).

Most of these were memory corruption caused by a driver. There seem to be a few drivers that are suspect.
Please run memtest for you ram

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Also Please run driver verifier to find out which driver is at fault.

Trying to connect my Lenovo Ideapad u450p laptop w/ Windows 7 Home Premium to my new Samsung LCD HDTV with a SVGA cable so I can watch internet stuff on the TV. VGA ports on both the laptop and the TV. Turned computer & TV off, connected cables on each side. Turned computer on, turned TV on. Selected PC source (VGA symbol) on the TV and Fn F3 for screen display on the computer (selected Duplicate). This should cause the image on the computer screen to then show on the TV as if the TV is acting like a monitor. Nothing happens. Black screen on the TV. Have tried this several times, checked cable connection (it's tight, and the TV acknowledges that the cable is connected). Have re-booted both the TV and the computer.

Am using TiVo also, but don't expect that is related as the SVGA cable is connected directly from TV to laptop, not through the TiVo.

Feel like I'm going nuts - please HELP!

A:Connect Lenovo Laptop to HDTV - need help

Check the manual for the TV to see what resolutions it supports for computer connections.
