Q: Windows 7 ,Freezing, slow response, Hp laptop, Probook 4530s,

My lap top is only 2 month old, I have kept it in great condition, not downloading tons or random movie and music files. It has been running perfectly. It is a Windows 7 HP Probook 4530s.

It has not given me any trouble so far.

Today my friend and I were downloading Java to play minecraft. The download went ok, and I proceed to boot up the minecraft program. When the program loaded the computer began lagging horribly.
I quickly ended the program and attempted to restart it, the program ran with the same horrible lag.
So I ended the program, but my computer was still lagging, all programs I attempted to run took for ever to start up, and when they did they froze. I restarted the laptop and after all the programs started up, I attempted to run Firefox, and it loaded, then froze, as did all other programs, I had to force the computer off. I spent the rest of the day cleaning up the computer, deleting old program files, music, I ran multiply disk clean ups, and attempted to defrag the hard drive. But these programs all froze.
I restarted and ran in Safe Mode, and it worked fine, all the programs loaded and nothing froze. Me and my friend worked on it all day, finally we found out that the Minecraft program had installed wrong, or something like that, THe program files were installed in the wrong place. We deleted those file and restarted the computer. It started up, and All programs functioned for a while, and the lag was gone, it all ran smoothly, then maybe two minutes later everything freezes. I attempt to open programs but the files will not open

That thread is the closet thing I can find that resembles my current problem, Please help, thank you for your time in advance.

A: Windows 7 ,Freezing, slow response, Hp laptop, Probook 4530s,

Since your computer seems to be running normally in Safe Mode, I would try a Clean Boot procedure to hopefully isolate a culprit.

Hi All,

I'm using HP Probook 4530s with Windows 7 Home Premium installed, my laptop comes with 8gb 1066mhz (4gb*2)
Today I bought Cosair 16gb 1333mhz ( 8gb*2) when I installed 16gb RAM it took almost 5 mins to go from Windows 7 startup page to Windows 7 desktop. I then removed 8gb *1 off my laptop the boot time was under 1 min.

it works perfectly fine with 16gb when it comes to Windows 7 desktop but the only problem is the booting time is too long, do you know how to solve this issue?

P.S. I did check both the RAM and they are all ok. Windows 7 display correctly the 16gb ram not 8gb

Thank you all

A:HP Probook 4530s with 16gb RAM causing slow startup of Windows 7.

Does your laptop's BIOS have an option to disable memory checking or something along those lines...where it scans all system memory each and every time you boot?

Hi, My HP Probook 4530s is not booting with Windows 7. When turning on, it brings the "Start Windows" page with the Windows logo and it freezes there! It is however loading on Safe Mode. I have tried reinstalling the WIndows 7, it worked at first and didn't freeze, but after installing the ATI graphics driver, which is necessary for having appropriate display, it again freezed after rebooting at the same Windows Start page. What is wrong with my computer?! Please help!

I have just bought a new HP Probook 4530s. I wiped the hard drive and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I have managed to find drivers for all of the other hardware, but not sure which driver to use for the wireless adapter? I have a few choices from the downloads page of the HP website for Windows 7 Professional 64bit (there is no Windows 7 Ultimate page???): Intel:http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32... Ralink:http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32... Realtek:http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32... Atheros:http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32... Which one should I use? How can I tell who made the hardware, if I know then I would use their driver. Thanks for all help!Naz

A:Which wireless driver to use for my HP Probook 4530s laptop?

Hi Naz, Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Network Adapters.  Right click on the wireless device ( this may show as 'Unknown Device' if no driver is loaded ) and select Properties.  Click the Details tab, choose Hardware Ids from the dropdown box and post back with the details shown under Value. Regards, DP-K

Hello. I have the same problem when you upgrade to Windows 10 (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/HP-Probook-4530s-and-Windows-10...  or   http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/windows-10-drivers-for-Hp-ProBo...) -->  After upgrading to Windows 10 4 devices were not recognized by the system and took a long time to boot. I installed the driver fingerprint sensor windows 8 and it worked. Which suggested not let me install it. I have also installed other drivers windows 8 and I updated with the manufacturer (Intel and AMD) the graphics cards and some other that windows update has recommended me. Anyway still taking 1 min 30 sec to start, as there are 2 devices that are not recognized and for which no drivers. And the Atheros bluetooth driver gives a problem. HP, please release drivers for these three devices soon. Thank you.        the same images: http://i62.tinypic.com/amprag.jpg  http://i59.tinypic.com/262pm4j.png http://i57.tinypic.com/ndu3b5.png http://i57.tinypic.com/334q92a.png http://i62.tinypic.com/2cpcd1t.png

In this link http://answers.microsoft.com/es-es/windows/forum/windows_10-other_settings/windows-10-arranca-muy-le..., is the solution to the problem, that obtained from this other link http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Lockups-Freezes-Hangs/windows-10-extremely-slow-boot-since-ins.... The problem is with the ATI graphics Catalyst driver, with version 15.7. To solve the problem of slow start, in the registry, change all the DWORD value to 0 in the enableULPS key.  Make a backup of the registry before making changes just in case... Thus, although I still have the problem with the three drivers, startup is normal in less than 30 seconds. Greetings and good luck.

Hi, I'm having some trouble getting Windows 10 installed properly: How did you guys even get the HP 4530s to get the right Display Drivers for Windows 10, it looks like HP still hasn't released updated drivers for the 4530s...  I have a ProBook 4530s running Windows 7 64bit Home edition. When I did the Windows 10 upgrade about a month ago, the installation appeared successful, but upon booting the computer, at the sign on screen (with the rocky beach picture with the ocean in the background) the screen would just flicker and not allow me to sign in or go past that point. So I went back to Windows 7. It appears to be a display driver issue but I see that HP has not released any display drivers for Windows 10 for the ProBook 4530s. Even if I had the driver's ready on an external flash drive or something, how am I supposed to install them if the screen keeps flickering and not allowing me to get to the desktop. I have also hooked up an external monitor and the same thing happens...  How do I get the proper drivers installed -especially Display and Wireless Networking drivers,,,,before doing the upgrade attempt again to Windows 10? Thanks for any help you can provide!

ankush2 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about needing Win10 drivers for your laptop and wanted to help. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem you're up against is that Microsoft only supplies drivers with the most basic functionality, and what you really need for FULL functionality in laptops is the specialized drivers written for the specific hardware found in laptops -- and unfortunately, there are no HP Win10 drivers for your laptop. However, for MS-supplied drivers that aren't working well, you could consider using HP Win8 drivers -- although there's no guarantee that those drivers will work.  Here's the link to the HP Product drivers and software page for Win8 for your PC:  http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5060881&lang=en&cc=usWhen that page opens, select Windows 8x using the operating system pulldown. You might have to install the drivers using compatibility mode: http://www.windows10forums.com/articles/compatibility-mode.7/Good Luck

Hi: You should be able to...Just make sure you connect by ethernet cable so W10 is activated before the deadline. Then I recommend you get the Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6230 wlan card...HP Part number 636672-001, listed in chapter 3, page 25 of the service manual.  That is the only card that I see on the list that should work on W10. NOTE:  You MUST get that specific card, and it MUST have the HP part number on it or it will not work. I usually go on eBay, query by the HP part number and buy a card that shows the part number in the eBay listing photograph.  But an easier thing to do would be to make the W10 installation DVD by using the media creation tool at the link below, run the upgrade from the windows desktop, select do not check for updates and W10 will bypass any hardware checks and install with the atheros card in place. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 I doubt the atheros card will work after W10 is installed, but you shouldn't have to remove it just to install W10. There is a W10 driver for that card but I think the hardware version of the card your notebook has is too old to work with the driver. This package contains the driver installation package for the Qualcomm Atheros AR9000-Series wireless LAN Controller in the supported models and operating systems.  ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71858.exe OPERATING SYSTEM(S):Microsoft Windows 10 32Microso... Hi: To find out what model wireless card your notebook has, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category, and there you will see the name and model number of the wireless network card. W10 should install most of the drivers you need. If you get stuck, let me know and I will try and help you further. Note:  if your notebook has the AMD/Intel switchable graphics, I do not believe that W10 will work correctly. Only notebooks with the Intel graphics will probably run on W10.

Good afternoon, all! I've been trying to upgrade a ProBook 4530S to Windows 10.  All looks good until I try to connect to Wi-Fi.  The widget simply says "Cannot connect to wireless" and there are no Event Viewer entries showing why.   The wired adapter works fine.  They're both the Realtek adapter.  I tried the Windows 8.1 driver with no success.  The hard switch is on and the LED is white.  The BIOS is the latest & greatest.  Also triple-checked the wireless router password - thst's OK, too! With no indication from the OS as to what's going on, I may have to restore Win 7 and either start over or give up.  I have another ProBook that I tried to upgrade; the wireless was fine, but there was something in the services that kept refreshing the desktop and breaking VPN and RDP connections.  So, I'm a little concerned that these laptops may not be upgradeable to Win 10.   Any tips for getting Win 10 to run on this? Thanks to all for looking!  Gregg

A:Win 10 on ProBook 4530S results in no Wi-Fi

Hi: If your notebook has the RTL8188CE wireless card, that doesn't work on W10. I didn't even know there was a W8.1 driver for it.  I only thought that card worked up to W8. Why not upgrade the wlan card to the Intel card listed in the service manual...chapter 3, page 25. That should work fine on W10.  Not only that, but you then get a dual band card with bluetooth. Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6230     HP Part # 636672-001 The only caution is you must get that card, and it must have the HP part # on it or it will not work because of the BIOS whitelist HP has on those models. You should be able to find them used but in tested and working condition cheaply on eBay by querying by the part number. I would make sure you see the HP part number shown for the item in the listing photograph.

I have a HP Probook 4530s that is double booted with Windows 7 and OSX and has 8 GB of RAM. It is running the version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit that came with the computer. None of the original software has been removed. I have been having some issues with my hardware consuming most of the RAM in Windows 7 to the point where I only have 2.9 GB of usable RAM (I had the same amount of usable RAM when the computer had 4 GB of installed RAM). Windows detects that I have 8 GB of RAM installed so I don't think it is an issue with how the RAM is installed. (Additionally, I can use all of the RAM in OSX). How can I fix this issue?

Hello and welcome mostly I reckon you should look at what is being used at boot up > Start > type msconfig > right click run as admin and go to the tab Start you will see what is being loaded at boot up you can then work through some of the bloatware which sounds like lot of your problem too and untick them see my on boot pic.

Another helpful thing is this Autoruns for Windows to see what you have running and this for a bit of tuning up-

Hi all

I bought a probook for my wife last year as I thought it would be bullet proof but that is not the case. It was purchased so that she could do work easily when she was pregnant. It was purchased from saved laptops for a decent price and I got 100 quid cash back. Also had them upgrade the memory to 8gb from, but I've just found that 4gb is Kingston and the other is micron(strange)

Because my wife was on maternity, the laptop rarely got used, however when she went back to work I noticed the battery waasn't working well. It would fully charge, however after being turned off the battery would be dead. I've completed a battery test & the battery was fine, so someone mentioned running the built-in HP support software and updating the drivers etc.

I updated everything and the battery was sorted no problem whatsoever. However after minutes of use the laptop would BSOD and I kept missing the error message.

I then after trying various things rolled back the software to an earlier date and which has solved the BSOD, however the battery is back to square one.

I then restored the laptop to see if it would help ANC for a while I though it did until it started all over again. I've tried memory tests based on what someone said and various other tests. I've noticed it only really happens when I'm on the internet and managed to catch the following pictures of the BSOD.

I want to upgrade my hp probook 4530s's processor from intel cor i3 which processor can my used ?

A:Hp probook 4530s processor upgrade000

Here is the Service Manual: Manual It appears you can install an i7-2670QM Quad Core, but we have had several reports of no go situations when people try to upgrade what had been a dual core to a Quad Core. I suggest if you really want to do it, you stick with the i7-2620M dual core, which would be a significant upgrade from any of the i3 models.  Post back with any more questions.  https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-2620M-SR03F-Dual-core-Processor/dp/B00PJQE8ZI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid...  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

A:probook 4530s windows10 drivers

Sibusiso2010 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about needing Win10 drivers for your laptop and wanted to help -- but need more information. You claim to have a Probook 4530s, but the HP site only lists 4540s, so please follow these instructions for finding the detailed product number:  Finding Your HP Product Model Number | HP® Customer Support Also, I see you're running Win10.  Did the PC come preinstalled with Win10? Or, did you upgrade it from a prior OS to Win10?  If you did the upgrade, how long ago was that, and what was the prior OS?We can proceed once you provide the information. Thanks

A:WIDI cannot be installed on my HP probook 4530s

Hi: This is a peer to peer forum. HP maintains no official presence here. What model wireless card does your notebook have? The processor you posted and Intel HD 3000 graphics are widi capable according to this... http://ark.intel.com/products/53469/Intel-Core-i7-2670QM-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_10-GHz So, it is down to the wireless card.

A:BIOS Password HP Probook 4530s

Max. There are no master password generators for ProBooks or EliteBooks and most business class laptops. You will need to contact HP. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0003 Or look at this link. http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/49497-HP-Probook-Elitebook-BIOS-Password-Reset-Utility I have a master external USB HDD with his programs that I have removed hundreds of passwords with Mazzif's help. Mazzif?s program will detect your UUID, Serial Number and model number then use that information to produce an .exe file to clear the password. If you find it to be to technical then. Or replace the BIOS chip.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Probook-4230s-4330s-4430s-4530s-4730s-5330m-5320m-5310m-Bios-Chip-No-Password-/251583731923?pt=US_Motherboard_Components&hash=item3a938f18d3 If you have good soldering skills order the BIOS chip. You will receive a picture of the chips location after purchase. REO I must inform you that these services are not endorsed by HP, and that HP is not responsible for any damage that may arise to your system by using these services. Please be aware that you do this at your own risk.

I just bought HP Probook 4530s Ci5Ram 6 GbHard 740 Gb1 Gb graphic card RadeonOperating system win7 64bit I downloaded the driver software and digital persona software from HP website, the device manager of my system is showing that the driver is installed correctly (Named as Biometric devices, and under it Validity sensor, its version listed is VFS471). But on windows log on it is showing detecting reader, and then reader is not detected. Same is happening in the software (Digital persona). I tried different softwares from different websites.  Please tell if you know something NEW. I said something new because I saw many people on many websites looking for that problem. But the problem is there. When I run the setup of Validity sensor driver, it install fine. Then I run the latest Digital persona software it says on its installation ("The system cannot verify that the fingerprint readers is installed"). And under it here is a option to SKIP that part. When I do it, it completes the installation and restarts the computer. After that same problem "Reader not detected" on windows log on.

Hello! yestarday I tried to open my laptop but it didn't start. i thought that maybe the battery was empty so i plugged the power cord, but nothing happened. then I noticed the led near the power cord blinking orange. After a fast googling i came to this thread ( http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/charging-light-blinking-problem-with-hp-probook-4530s... ) using the 8-step guide I managed to boot the laptop just to realise that it won't detect the power cord! It was really strange, because when I noticed this, my battery was already at 2%! I shut down the laptop, and tried to open it without the battery, it booted normally, but it still can't detect that the power cord is plugged in!!!!! On the other thread some mentioned to update the bios, but in my case where it can't detect the power cord, that's impossible, because the procedure requires the laptop to be plugged in. Now the laptop won't start normally, I have to keep the power button pressed for 40 secs and then plug the power cord. In addition it won't work only with battery, and that is my biggest problem!!  What should I do now?

I have a Probook 4530s that had some catastropic problems and I was forced to reinstall my Operating System and the various drivers to get the machine back to operational. For a while it kept getting stuck at the Starting Microsoft screen and wouldn't load further. I finally got passed that (but I still haven't installed the switchable graphics drivers for the AMD driver).  I am currently connecting to the internet via a wired connection. I noticed my wifi doesn't show up, and in the HP Connection Manager it says the wifi has been disabled in the bios, but I am unable to reenable it in the bios as it is greyed out. I also wonder which driver set I should be installing for my wireless ethernet as it shows a bunch of options for my computer model on the driver support page? I do know my wired ethernet works and that driver is using a Realtek driver. I have other issues but I'm slowly tying to get my machine back to operational. I appreciate any help or advice. Thanks,Eric

The computer isn't detecting the graphics card. Instead, it's resorting to integrated graphics, which doesn't quite cut it for gaming. Any assistance?from what i find with google ,the laptop only has one integrated video chip ,so its either intel or ati ,not both ,so you are not just running on integrated ,,so you must be missing the ati drivers for the device .get the drive for the ati card from HP website .click on driver graphics and the intel and ATI drivers are listed there My link

Hello, I have a HP 4530s with this problem: If I remove and insert the battery while Windows is running, the battery charges for a little while and then stops charging ("Plugged in, not charging). An orange light is blinking near the power connector. If I remove and insert the battery again, it charges for a while and then stops again. If I turn off Windows and disconnect AC power, if the orange light was blonking, it continues blonking (didn't wait to see how long). If I do this enough times, the battery charges to full. When I disconnect the AC power the laptop works normally on the battery (battery capacity is OK). What I have tried:1. removing the battery, disconnecting AC, holding power button for 40s, reconnecting AC, starting Windows, shutting down Windows, inserting the battery.2. Updating the BIOS to the latest version (F60) - this actually helped because previously the battery was not detected at all if removed and inserted until I did #1.

Hello,

I have a Gateway P-6825 laptop running Windows Vista 32-bit, Service Pack 2.  The processor is T5250 1.5GHz and it has 2 GB RAM memory. I realize it's a slightly older machine and the processor is relatively slow, but it seems to have slowed down a bit in the last few months when I access Internet pages.  I am not getting any signs of malware infection but I'm wondering whether it is laden with too many programs or something else.  Any insight you can provide is truly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello!

I have a hp probook 5430s running windows 7 home 64.

I am trying to get the computer set up to be a mobile DAW for my upcoming deployment and decided to remove the optical drive and install another hard drive to put my huge libraries on so they don't take up all of my C drive. The computer recognized the drive just fine and I'm able to transfer files between the two drives and run all programs with absolutely no problem. The new drive is a Seagate 500 gig by the way... When I turn it on it boots up very fast with no issues at all.

The problem is when I want to close the lid, reset, sleep, or shut-down. with sleep, reset, and shut down it goes to the blue screen where it shows you logging off like normal and then the screen turns black (when I close the lid screen turns black after closed and stays black) I can hear the drives stop spinning like normal but the power button stays on. And at that point the only way I can use the computer again is to hold down power button to make it completely shut down then turn back on whenever I want to use it again, and again it starts up great.

I don't know if the computer is looking for the optical drive still to complete the full shut down cycle or what. The main errors I keep seeing in event log are BTHUSB, HPDSKFLT, the following boot-start drivers failed to load:cdrom. But they didnt show up last time I started computer except for bthusb which always shows up.

In bios I disabled cdrom and that seemed to fi... Read more

Hi all,

Looking for a little help. I have a HP ProBook 4530s that I just got a couple months ago and have not been able to rip/burn any DVDs since. I am using DVDFab 8 (same version I used on my old laptop with no issues). The DVD rips to my HD and my laptp ejects the disk. While DVD fab is displaying a message that it is searching for writable media at my DVD drive, I receive a BSOD.

I have attached the log files for you to look at. I have seen some other threads online with people with the same laptop with the same issue but have never seen a solution.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, i'm experiencing wierd lags and bugs on my laptop... I've googled bit, and found out that it can be caused by RAM' but today i've got 4gb more ram but problem still here!
Here to .dmp files.
First regular dmp after restart.
And second after this
My .dmp files

A:HP Probook 4530s BSOD after restart/booting up Win7Ultimate64bit

Your BSODs seems to be caused by the Intel HD3000 driver which also appears to be out of date. The AMD driver was also mentioned in one dmp file.

Update both:
Intel Download Center
AMD

Driver Verifier points to NIWinCDEmu.sys, a driver used by multiple ISO mounting programs such as Native Instruments. Uninstall any of those.

Perform a RAM test if none of the above works, post back with your results.

My computer just recently has been running painfully slow. Boot up takes about 10 minutes while log in time has increased a little also. When I attempt to open my programs now, some wont open until 15 minutes later, after I already gave up on them; some don't even open at all. Internet explorer works but takes about a minute to load the homepage and loading times vary. Sometimes it loads quick, sometimes it seems like it has stopped responding. Sometimes explorer completely freezes and I get the "checking for solutions" message. I am really getting frustrated because I have ran all of my anti virus anti spyware, malware etc. I have pccillin antivirus, malwarebytes, ad-aware, and spybot search and destroy, all of which say my comp has 0 problems. Itunes seems to be extremely bad in loading because i can try for 30 min and not get it to load even after uninstalling and reinstalling. I also have cleaned out the comp using ccleaner and have defragmented. I am running low on options and don't know whats wrong this time. Please help!

You may have some hardware problems.*** Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 (or http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic28744.html)Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), and make the CD bootable.NOTE. If your hard drive is made by Toshiba, unfortunately, you're out of luck, because Toshiba doesn't provide any diagnostic tool.*** A. If you have more than one RAM module installed, try starting computer with one RAM stick at a time.NOTE Keep in mind, the manual check listed above is always superior to the software check, listed below. DO NOT proceed with memtest, if you can go with option AB. If you have only one RAM stick installed......run memtest...1. Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)2. Unzip downloaded memtest86+-....iso.zip file.3. Inside, you'll find memtest86+-....iso file.4. Download, and install ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/5. Insert blank CD into your CD drive. 6. Open ImgBurn, and click on Write image file to disc7. Click on Browse for a file... icon:8. Locate memtest86+-....iso file, and click Open button.9. So pretty much on start up.  My computer would ether freeze or load slow where only the mouse can move.  Right clicking something or trying to open anything, including task menu would just cause the loading circle to appear.  I can still move the mouse but can't click.  Sometimes it would take around 20 minutes for the computer to recover form the slow down or I'll have to reset.

It happens 1 hours after I start my computer or 10 hours after, but I am getthing this behavour all days and is very anooying
I have 4x4 memories of RAM, to be sure my ram is not the problem, i remove 3 memories and left only one, then I change the memory from different slots and the issue still happening, so I think ram is not the problem

A:Windows get freezing randomly and no response

This may be the cause of virus, malware, etc.

Do go and download
SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!
SUPERAntiSpyware (free version) and then select "Scan this computer" and next page "Quick scan".
Alternately, you can use any other antivirus, etc. I used thisSuperantispyware as
This is to remove any virus, spyware, etc; before you continue.

If the problem still exist, then post here.

Hi,

I've got this HP machine a few months ago. Its the Probook 4530s.

I've formatted the harddrive and reinstalled windows a few time in hopes that it will fix this problem but it just does not seem to go away.

The windows keeps freezing for a few seconds, like the window will say "(Not Responding)" at the top...and then after a few seconds it starts working again. I checked the resource monitor and apparently the processor and memory utilization is quite low so I cant figure out why it still freezes. Can anyone help with this?

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
When asked, save the display information in English.
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Create a new folder by right clicking in a blank area within the folder Errors.evtx is saved in. You could also click New Folder at the top of the directory under the directory path box.
Name the new folder Errors.
Place Errors.evtx and the LocaleMetaData folder into the new Errors folder.
Right click the Errors folder -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file here.

Hello, I've got a hp probook 4530s. A few days ago my laptop didn't charge my battery anymore. So I tested the laptop without a battery and only with my AC adapter and it worked just fine. So I did order a new battery but still it won't charge at all. I'm sure my AC adapter works fine because without a battery it works. So my question does any one have an idea what to do next?

Hello, my Windows 7 desktop computer has been rather slow lately. I'm not sure if it is the memory space but I think it's certain software causing. Would it be possible to have this checked out? Thanks!

A:Windows 7 Slow Response

Clean your machine with Privazer

Then defrag with.Ultimate Defrag.

Then I would suggest that you disable useless startups, all are really not needed, except your antivirus. When you disable items from startup, a reboot is needed to feel the changes. Whats In Startup.

After the reboot, tell me how things are running.

Then Download Security Check to your desktop, right click it run as administrator. When the program completes, the tool will automatically open a log file, please post that log here in your next post.

Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.
Checkmark following boxes:
Flush DNS
Reset FF proxy Settings
Reset Ie Proxy Settings
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (problems only)
Click Go and post the result.

Hi All,

I'm working on a machine that Windows XP SP3 on it, during start up it has very slow response, it also rattles quite a bit. I have ran defrag, compressed old files, got rid of misc files, cleaned up start up programs, etc. I checked CPU usage and no unusal stuff going on. It is only when turning on the machine that it just cranks and cranks.

What do you think?

Girlwiz64

A:Windows XP SP3 - Slow Response

cranks ? rattles ?

Check Event Viewer. Look at the log entries from the moment XP starts to the time it gets to desktop. There should be no errors. Any error will delay the time it takes to get to desktop.

I turn off all unnecessary Services, as well as anything that has the word "updater" in it, i.e. Google Updater, etc... By "turn off" I mean delete the registry entry that runs the bloatware.

Sometimes things are so messed up that a new install is the best option. You can try to use the Windows Files & Settings Transfer Wizard, as long as you understand that it would work from one Service Pack to another, and even then it might not work correctly.

What is "cranking" and "rattling". Is this a laptop ? Post basic system specs.

I was just helped by Katana in the HijackThis area getting rid of some malware problems. That process went well, but now my Windows XP OS has very slow response times when loading the Windows Explorer screen, browsing to a folder when doing a 'save as' function, opening MS Office Suite applications, and other similar operations. Katana suggested I post the problem in this area.

I'm running Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 with SP2 installed. I'm not getting any particular error messages, just very slow response times. This was not an issue prior to performing the steps Katana took me through to get rid of the malware.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi.

I hope I am posting this on the correct forum. After submitting my first problem a while ago and getting a solution here, I hope you can help again.

For some reason my Windows XP installation suddenly takes long to log in.

It is quick to the logon screen, but then when I enter my username it takes VERY long to load my personal settings. And then get to the Desktop.

One of the other symptoms is that Outlook cannot connect to my echange server, but I can ping it. No error messages comes up at all, and I am at a loss where to start looking next.

I think it might be a program that installed via the internet.

I have run AVG Anti Spyware, with no result. Trend Office Scan also found no virus infected files on my PC.

I have attached a Hijack This log file.

Please help!
Thank you,
Connaboy

Hi,

I am running Windows XP on my computer and have been experiencing extremely slow response times when starting up my computer and then starting specific programs such as Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has been slower than normal when navigating between pages. I am running Norton Anti Virus and recently did system scans with Spybot and AdAware. It removed a few problems, but I have not noticed a difference in performance.

An additional problem is that an HP error message regularly appears that states "HP Framework Component Manager Service has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry fro the inconvenience".

Any help you could offer would be much appreciated!

Thanks, STKA

In drive S:\ I have a number of folders and subfolders. One of the subfolders holds about 20 image files, each about 35MB. When I point Windows Explorer to that folder it takes about 30 sec. for the results to be displayed. Meanwhile a green progress bar slowly creeps along the address window. Other subfolders in the same parent folder are not affected.

The drive has been indexed, but no help. However when I add the immediate parent folder to my Library, the display in Windows Explorer is almost immediate.

Is there a solution to this problem?

All my system specs are in my profile but I don't know a quick and easy way to include them here:
Win7x64 Intel i7 16GB mem.

A:Very slow response in Windows Explorer

Blumesan mate might I suggest you copy the data to another drive and just dump that one because it sounds as if the data has been in part corrupted or worse infected with something. If you want to scan it try these

http://www.superantispyware.com/

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/
It might be an idea to scan the machine per se' for that matter and include this

Hello everybody,

My name is lightyears_away from the Netherlands and I'm having trouble with my HP ProBook. It is running very slowly at startup and during general use. Sometimes I have to wait 10 - 20 seconds after clicking on an application before something happens. Also, when I open the start menu for the first time after start up, I see that the icons of all programs are not yet rendered. An other thing: when I shut down the system, I often get the message that some program is still running and it may be forced to shut down.

Today I have done an extensive malware/adware/virus sweep with several programs and with Ccleaner. Certain files were deleted but I haven't experienced any improvement. I am wondering whether there is some bug/error in my system configuration that is slowing it down.

Maybe one of you heroic experts here could be so kind to advice me on how to improve the performance of my system? I would be very thankful!

First thing I suggest:  Run the chkdsk /r command on the C: partition.

Appears that you have a Dupplica service running...yet no app appears to be installed.  My guess would be that this may account for the VSS errors, since Dupplica seems to assert its own VSS, while Windows has VSS as a native function.  I would disable the currently running Duplicca VSS service.
