Q: ViewSonic Monitor Drivers

I recently downloaded the latest drivers from ViewSonic's page and isntalled them, and upon rebooting I had weird resolutions listed. Missing are 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200. Instead I have ones like 1280x720, 1280x768, 1280x960, 1360x768, 1600x900, and 1600x1024. I Desperatly need my non-distorted resolutions back!! I have tried uninstalling the drivers and the device. I have also tried to just change to a Generic driver but the resolutions are the same. HELP!!!!

I am running Vista Home Prem.I use an 8800 GTS EVGA.I have the latest drivers for my 8800. I run 2 Viewsonic monitors. One is a VG900b and is fine. I also run a VX2235 digital monitor. Both monitors are listed in device manager by model. I manually installed drivers directly off of the discs.I have also downloaded Viewsonic's monitor drivers. I can't get my 22" to go to it's native resolution of 1680x1050.I have had these installed for a long time and working fine. When I ran a hard disc error check that is listed under tools under properties of my computer it erased my 22" and it's capabilities to operate @ native resolution. Another difference is that before I manually installed the VX2235, it was listed as a 'non plug and play monitor' under device manager. I have never seen that before. Does anyone know how to fix this? I am this close to going out and buying a new XP Pro disc.

Why not just uninstall the monitor drivers you installed and reboot and use the Vista drivers?

Greetings all,

My ViewSonic VX2450wm-LED monitor is recognized as Generic Non-PnP Monitor. I even downloaded and attempted to install Viewsonic's "Standard_Monitor_Driver_Signed_Win7_x64". It times out at the end of installation and requests I download "Standard_Monitor_Driver_Signed" from Viewsonic website.

My display view is set at max res of 1600x1200. I am running Win7-Ultimate 64bit.

Is there any other way to get Win 7-Ultimate 64bit to recognize the monitor as VX? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using an NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS 256MB card.

Thank you

A:ViewSonic VX2450wm-LED monitor is a Generic Non-PnP Monitor

If you need to know, here is how I fixed it.
First install ViewSonic's "Standard_Monitor_Driver_Signed_Win7_x64"
Go to Device Manager
Select Monitor drop down tab
Select Generic PnP Monitor
Right-Click on Generic PnP Monitor
Select option "Update Driver Software"
Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Select from the models listed: Generic PnP Monitor
Select option "Have Disk..."
Select "Browse..."
Navigate to where the ViewSonic monitor drivers are stored
Example: C:\ViewSonic
Select monitor driver
Example: VX2450_SERIES
Click "Open"
Click "OK"
Select from the pop up window:
ViewSonic on the left and ViewSonic VX2450 Series on the right
Click "Finish"

Finally, you will receive the message: Windows has successfully updated your driver software.
Notice resolution is now 1680x1050

After successful install of Nvidia drivers for my laptop's "nvidia geforce 9300m gs" current version:

186.19 to new version: 260.99, the max res cannot be set to the following available resolutions:
1920x1200, 1920x1440 or 2048x1536

I run XP on a new box and a fairly new 19" (year old) View Sonic LCD monitor. The monitor worked as advertised on my old PC but when attached to my new one I frequently get a flashing green power indicator light and will get no picture.

This happens 100% of the time if I cold start the PC and I have to screw around with the restart button and on/off power button to get it to come back to life and in truth I do not know which combination of button pushing gets it to come back. I now use the power saver mode because that seems to be the most consistent way of bringing the monitor back to life but even that didn't work this am.

ViewSonic's web site wasn't much help.

Help here?

I'm trying to decide between the G90FB 19" or the P95F+B...
Here are the links:

The only real difference between the 2 is the fact the Professional one (P95F+B) has an aperture grille while the Gaming (G90FB) has a shadow mask

I know the shadow mask uses dots (dot pitch) while the aperture grille uses lines instead of dots...

Which monitor will give me the best picture for gaming and crisp clear text.

A:Which is the better Viewsonic monitor?

If you can afford it I'd get the Professional version. I had Philips 107P (Professional) monitor with a .25 Aperture grille and it was the best monitor as far as picture quality/clairity I've ever seen (I'm sure there are better, but not without paying major money).

My Viewsonic LCD monitor flashes on and off depending on what I am viewing. I can view pages in any program that has writing or a small number of small pictures without too much trouble. A web page with lots of pictures or the desktop and screen saver are the worst. The monitor flashes off so much on these last pages that I can barely see the page long enough to move the mouse and open a program or expand one from the start bar. I have checked cables, changed power cord, and checked video card drivers. Viewsonic website was no help. Anyone with any ideas?

A:Viewsonic LCD monitor trouble.........

Hi and welcome to TSG.

Do you happen to know if you are operating the monitor at or beyond its normal operating range for resolution and refresh rates?

Do you get a stable image if you start Windows with a lower resolution in Safe mode?

In the future, it would help us to help you if you give more details like the model number of the monitor and how it is connected to the computer. The TSG reporting utility program does not produce an exhaustive and detailed report about all of the hardware related to your computer.

I just replaced a 1280x1024 Viewsonic monitor, that had gone bad, with another one (Viewsonic VA708).

Though I've never really been one to pay "hard hard" attention to how things look on a monitor - never felt a problem with anything - something just looks/feels "off" with this one.

This is most noticeable to me on the titles appearing on the browser tabs in Firefox. They just look "wrong" - watery maybe to my eye.

BUT... I have attached a screenshot comparing a blowup of a browser tab from my work computer Dell 1280x1024 monitor (top) and my new Viewsonic monitor (bottom), blown up to 1000 px wide (I cropped), and in the blowup, I can't tell the difference.

So why might I be perceiving things differently with this new monitor?

FWIW, I did update the driver from the Viewsonic site, and I also played with both the monitor's and the control panel's display adjustments.

I have a ViewSonic 19" CRT monitor (bought new in '99) connected to a PC that runs Win XP SP2, 512 MB RAM, Matrox Millenium AGP card.

The system ran fine until I moved it (carefully) to another room. The CPU boots but the monitor does not give any video. I get a black screen with a repetetive blue area that indicates no signal. The specific line entry is "No Synch". I think I may have seen this in the past, when the monitor was powered on but the CPU was shut off. I can't be certain it's the exact same condition.

I switched cables and tried a different video card but no luck. I don't have another monitor other than my laptop. I think I can hook it up to act as a monitor but not certain. Can't afford to crash the laptop.

Any suggestions?

I have a Viewsonic VA721 monitor that I was using up until earlier today when the monitor started acting like a scrambled cable tv channel when turned on.

I was wondering if anyone might happen to know as to what might cause that, what the technical term for it might be and as to whether or not it can be fixed.

Up until today I have never had any problems with the monitor. Every time I would walk away from the computer for a while I would shut the monitor off so that I could avoid any burn in problems with it thereby preserving the life of the monitor. Because of that I have never had any problems with it until today and at the moment I do not know what could be causing the problem.

I tried the monitor on two different computers with two different cables and got the same result. I bought the monitor in 2006 brand new and up until today it has served me faithfully without any problems.

I don't know if it can be fixed or even if it is worth it nor do I know if it is something that I can fix myself or if I would have to have someone else fix it.

What I do know is if there is anything that I can do to fix the problem myself and restore it to active service then I might choose to give it a try.

Until I have more answers though I cannot make an informed decision about any of it and that is why I am asking.

I am hoping that there will be someone here that will know about such things and can give me some straight advice and information about the monitor and the pro... Read more

It sounds like the vertical deflection is gone. Try the monitor on a different computer or a different monitor on yours to see where the problem is. If the monitor is bad its better to bury a new one than to pay to have it repaired. New monitors are pretty cheap now.

My 2nd attempt to get some help off the forums

A few days ago, I tried loading up Warcraft 3, a game, and the screen went black, with the light flashing on and off. If I alt tabbed out of WC3 the screen turned back on. The problem persisted after a restarted, so I left it for a while. A few hours later I tried and W3 worked fine, no problems.

However today I turn on my PC and after a few seconds during the boot up, the screen goes blank with the flashing on and off light again. I restart it and it goes blank even faster.
After a while on the forums (on my GFs laptop) I try pressing F8 before the screen goes blank, and then press ESC for the 'default' Boot option. It goes on to boot up normally, with screen errors. I test out warcraft 3, (since when I first saw this it was whilst starting up this program) and it works fine, and goes on to do so for a few hours, till I turn the screen off and on to see if the problem is permanently fixed. It hasn't, the screen goes black.
Upon restarting my PC I get the same error as before, Pressing F8 and Esc doesn't fix it anymore. However now after pressing Esc I get to the screen where they ask me if I would like to Boot up in Safe mode. I do so and it loads up in safe mode fine.
Later on I try again to get it to load in normal mode, it does first time. Then upon loading Warcraft 3 again, the screen goes black again, with the flashing light. Again rebooting results in the same black screen a few seconds into loading... Read more

Hi all;
For several months, I have been trying to diagnose a problem that occurs on my Viewsonic VX2000 monitor connected to a BFG 9800 GTX+ .

I had been running a BFG 6800 card with no problems at all, but wanted something faster on this aging system; Asus P5AD2-E Premium, and got a good deal on the 9800.
It worked great with the drivers included on the install CD. That driver was dated 10/2008.

When I installed the later driver, I started to see video noise lines running up and down both sides of the screen when in the max resolution of 1600 x 1200 @ 60HZ.
The noise would become more intense as the monitor warmed up, but would reach a point where it would not get any worse, but the monitor would flicker occasionally, as though it were receiving a signal out of its range.

When I reduced the resolution to 1200 x 1024, or 1024 x 768 the noise was not present.

I got tired of trying to fix the issue, so I rolled back the driver to the older one.
But every time I found a new driver on Nvidia's web site, I would try it, in hopes that the issue might be fixed. It was not.
So I resigned to using the older driver. Upgrading the driver really had no effect on any of my games anyway, so upgrading the driver was really just a geek kind of thing that I like to do.

So, everything was fine in XP land. But this morning I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on the same machine.
I created a dual boot so I can always go back to XP as needed.
When Win 7 installed, it would n... Read more

I'm stuck between these 3 monitors. The HP 27xi AOC i2757fh or the Viewsonic VX2770SMH-LED 27

They all look similar, but I'm just not sure which one to get. I'm leaning toward the HP 27xi though, but this site rated the AOC i2757fh a little higher over the HP 27xi. I'd like to hear some feedback from you guys.

My main usage is playing games like BF3/BF4, SWTOR and Titanfall when it comes out. I also do a lot of web surfing and occasional movie watcher on this monitor. My current monitor is a 24 inch Asus VW246H and I like it, but I don't love it. So my main concern is how well it displays games. I don't want any ghosting and the least amount of input lag I can find. Now, I know the AOC boasts a slightly quicker response time of 5ms vs the HP's 7 seconds, but the reviews I've read thus far state there is no visual lag from the HP. What do you guys suggest? Thanks in advance!

Hello guys,

So one night when I left my computer on, i wake up at 3AM on a rainy night and i notice my entire room flashing (like from a tv in dark room). I thought I was having a rolling blackout, but as I got to my senses I noticed that my monitor was the only thing turning off and on. I turned it off, and went to sleep. The next morning I went to go turn on my computer and the monitor does the same thing. It turns (about a one to two second delay between each) until I turn the monitor off. The LED light is green. It goes from green, to off, to green, etc. I've had no prior problems with this monitor.

I tried switching out the power cord and plugging it into my wall (not connected to my video card, or anything) luck. It's definately the monitor. I don't know if it's dead or repairable or what. I often leave the computer on over night but i have a 10 minute screensaver and my monitor goes on standby after 20 minutes. When i fell asleep, my monitor was on standby (yellow LED). When I woke up it was the green turning on and off. Doesn't make much sense.

I don't have a my situation is pretty bleek atm.

My monitor seems to be experiencing some kind of problem.

The best way I can describe it is as a 'widescreen' mode. There is a black bar on the top and bottom of the desktop about 1 inch wide and extending across the entire length of the screen. I cannot move the mouse into this portion of the screen.

When adjusting the horizontal and vertical settings, 100% stops with the 1 inch black bars still in place. I cannot seem to make the desktop fit the screen. It seems to have shifted into some other mode of viewing.

I called Viewsonic tech support, but they didn't really know much else to do besides checking my settings. I am at 1024 x 768 resoloution, Radeon 8500 64MB graphics card, Windows XP and have installed the most recent drivers. Even when booting - the black bars are present, as if the monitor has somehow decided that is the mode it wants to be in.

If anyone has come across something like this before or knows how I might be able to fix it, I'd be MUCH obliged!

A:Viewsonic Monitor E771 Problem.

Might be starting to fail, 3 year warranty on those generally check the date on the back. Absolute easiest think to do would be to try it on another computer. On the other computer see if you square up the image with the screen if you can't then its the monitor, if you can it could be the video card.

Just upgraded to Win7 64bit. My trusty old monitor has no sound (the picture is fine) I found a driver for a generic Viewsonic x64 driver, but that didn't solve the problem. I read a suggestion somewhere to uninstall the driver and let Windows find it. That didn't solve the problem either. A:Viewsonic vx2235wm-1 Monitor has no sound.

What does the monitor require? Older monitors, that use VGA or DVI usually have a Jack to connect from the PC's Speaker out (GREEN) to the monitor for sound. No driver is required for that. There is no audio in a VGA or DVI connection, just video.

Hi Guys, I have no idea whats going on over at Viewsonic, however their support service is lacking some serious SUPPORT!!! Just the other day, I re-installed Vista 64 and had been happily using a x64 monitor driver for my VX2025WM, just before the re-install I decided to trall the net for latest drivers and deleted any old ones I had (stupid I know). Anyway on re-install with the latest unsigned driver - Standard_Monitor_Driver_Unsigned_Windows_x64 - Dated 04/10/2007, it is now telling me it cannot find my monitor. I've also tried the latest signed driver and this is not working either. I have tried a manual install from C:\Viewsonic and funny enough the monitor isn't even listed. I've asked Viewsonic for help with them replying asking me to download the latest unsigned driver (what the???) All I need is a copy of the previous unsigned driver to this one listed and I know 101% it will find my monitor and work, does anyone have it or know where I can find archived drivers, as Viewsonic have not responded to this request. Please help! Cheers in advance.

What do I do to get a better resolution with this monitor. It worked fine until the hard drive was changed.

I have downloaded the driver for the monitor from the net which was unsuccessful.

I tried changing the adapter from standard to SVGA as recommended by windows, which was rejected by the computer and I had to change it back.

Windows is not accepting the driver that I downloaded.

Never mind, as quick as the problem began, it's resolved itself for some reason. Post can be deleted.

I'm having a bit of a strange issue with my ViewSonic VX2258 monitor.
Out of nowhere, the screen started to flicker (not the sort of flickering you might expect from a loose cable, but literally going completely off and back on) every few seconds. Eventually the screen did not come back on at all.
Thinking there was a loose cable, I tried tightening them but to no avail. The light on the monitor is still blue showing that it is detecting an input and Windows still detects that the monitor is plugged in.
When I turn the monitor off and on, I can see the ViewSonic logo, but oddly enough after that it is a black screen and I am unable to get any system menus to appear (the ones that are generated by the monitor itself, not the PC) or change the source. I would have thought that because of this, there is something wrong with the display but that doesn't seem to be the case considering I can see the logo upon starting the monitor. (Perhaps something to do with firmware?)
I don't think that it is a problem with my GPU as my secondary monitor (a Samsung SyncMaster) still seems to be functioning perfectly but just in case, it is a Powercolor Radeon R9 290X and my drivers are all up to date.
Thanks for the help!

I need help in making my mind up between the gorgeous Lg 1981Q and the attractive Viewsonic Vx924.

I have recently upgraded my desktop and am thinking about shifting to dual screen, mainly for video and web editing (with a little bit of gaming on the side) and need help in picking out new monitor.

one of my problems is that the looks of the tft is very important to me, cos i cant look at something ugly all the time, i would like a tft which is slim and very sexy (just how i like my women )

If anybody owns either of these screens i would really appreciate their feedback, on how good the monitor is and if they would recommend it.

P.s is there really that much noticable difference between 4 and 8 ms, and if so is it going to be noticable when video editing and gaming.

hi all - ive got a problem with my new viewsonic vx2753mh-led monitor. its got 2x hdmi inputs and one vga.

the vga works straight off the bat, but whenever I try and plug the hdmi in it just says no input signal detected and goes black

I noticed in device manager that this was installed as 'generic non-pnp monitor' so after jumping through some hoops i managed to install the driver as 'viewsonic vx2753 SERIES'
Anyway this doesnt seem to have made a difference. still no input through the hdmi.

I have tested to cord on my samsung tv and it worked fine so it can't be a problem with the cord or the graphics card....

just some general info that might be of use:
windows 7 x64
dual monitor setup

the graphics is integrated on the intel i5 chip
my display adapters in device manager says Intel(R) HD Graphics Family.
it has a dvi out, hdmi out, and vga out.

thanks for any help you can give!

A:Viewsonic LCD monitor not recognizing HDMI input signal.

I have a Viewsonic which I'm also trying to run a media PC to connected via an HDMI cable, and I have noticed the exact same thing.

It was working fine for awhile, but recently I have been receiving an error on screen saying the "HDMI to DVI cable as experienced an error" or something to that effect. Note: I am using strictly an HDMI cable, not an HDMI to DVI as the message states (can't explain why I'm getting that message). I did the same thing you did, tested the machine using the same cable on another tv, and it worked fine on the other tv. What's strange is I can connect the cable box to the tv using the identical HDMI cable and it worked fine. Tried again using the same cable from the PC to the tv, and either 1) blank screen, or 2) shrunken screen with the aforementioned error which will go blank once I open Media Center.

Sorry, I don't have an answer, but it seems to me Viewsonic hasn't made a good product in terms of connecting media PC's, for some reason. Of course, my tv is out of warranty at this point. If you find an answer, keep me posted, I'll do the same.

I have a Viewsonic VT2430 monitor/tv, and a Windows Vista 64, with ATI 4200 graphics chip PC.

Title says it all really, just put a scratch in my 3 week old monitor , mildly annoyed about it and wondering whether theres any way to make it go away. When I run my finger over it it dusn't feel like a scratch, but with the monitor off, or showing a bright white screen its quite evident, and running fingernail over it i can tell its an indentation. Against bright white it looks almost like the effect seen if theres water on your monitor (rainbowy), if that helps at all. Basically i'd just like to be not able to see it, and was wondering if you had any suggestions?

Just performed windows update on my Dell Inspiron Desktop 560MT - Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit. I have been using dual monitors on the system since purchase. After performing windows update today my second monitor (connected by HDMI) will no longer display. The other monitor (the working one) is connected via VGA. The system does not recognize it is even connected. At start up however it will display up until login window. I am using two ViewSonic VX2453 Series monitors. I am desperate as I have to have both monitors for work. I have tried unplugging and replugging, restarting it with it unplugged and plugged. I uninstalled the update and have tried autodetect on the system all to no avail. Help!!

A:After Windows update 2nd Viewsonic monitor will no longer display

KChristians, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Sounds like you have WU set to automatically download and install updates, and it updated either the video or monitor driver. If that is what happened check your update history and you can uninstall it from there and should get you back to the previous drive.

Also if that s what it was you might want to set WU to not download and install drivers automatically, step #4 here,

The text especially is blurry/fuzzy and the screen doesn't take up all the space it should - about 1/2" at the top and sides, bottom is ok. The guy at View Sonic support said it was a video card issue and I would have to figure it out with HP or Intel. Can anyone help me? I have Intel HD graphics. The monitor is Viewsonic VX2270-Smh-LED. Me and my friend just finished our computer, we had a few issues with the NZXT Phantom case at first: they didn't send us a few screws so we had to go to the local tech store and buy a few, but everything worked out.

Our screen seems to be having a slight problem: the image of the screen is not taking up the entire space provided by the screen.
There is an option that we found: Auto Image Adjust, and I am sure this is the right one, except: it's disabled!

It's a ViewSonic VX2450wm-LED Full HD 1080p
We have Windows 7 installed on it, and everything is working fine.
The Screen Resolution is set to 1920 x 1080.
DPI Setting is at 150%

Thank's for the help!

Dear All Experts,

Hello! How are you all doing? Well today, I came across this Viewsonic LCD Monitor which looks quiet appealing and of course, being manufactured by the leading display technology company of the world Viewsonic! Heres the link to the product:

Viewsonic VX2433wm (24inch HD LCD Monitor)

Now here's what I need to know:

My main use of an LCD Monitor will be to:

* Watch Movies (Which should include a DVD & High Definition (HD) Quality Videos).
* Play 3D and Normal Games.
* Movies like Jurassic Park, Speed, Titanic, Action Movies, etc...
* Web browsing, doing back work on PC, Listening to music.

So, this in short will be the purpose of using a new LCD Monitor. So far, I am using CRT Monitor.

Once you have gone through the above link, could you kindly let me know how well would this Viewsonic LCD Monitor fair in terms of my above mentioned usage.

BUT NOW HERE's A TwIsT >>> While looking forward to buy an LCD Monitor, one question that kills my decision of buying it is that What if a Touch Screen LCD Monitor will be made available once Windows 7 releases to users. Then would all these LCD Monitors sold out today will be consider completely outdated not only in terms of technology but features as well. However, there are few things that comes to my notice for going with an LCD Monitor and not a Touchscreen one...

I have a Viewsonic E-655 and when I put it on my computer nothing happens... if I pull out the power and then replaace it there is just five shimmering balck belts accross thre screen. I tried it on my Mum's computer, and it came up with the message Frequency Over range. What is this.
I had it out last night and had it plugged through a Sanyo projector - ie. the computer plugged into the projector and so did the monitor. Would this have done it? Also, carrying it back out to the car when it was raning might have gotten it wet?

Thanks in advance for any help!

A:Viewsonic Monitor "Frequency Over Range"

Only thing I can think of is that your video settings got changed somehow. Can you put another monitor on your machine, boot up into windows. go to start/settings/control panel/display/settings tab/advanced button/adapter tab/ in the drop down box if refresh rate is set to optimal change it to adapter default, save , shutdown and hook up the other monitor. Long shot, probably won't work

Im doing this for my Dad, so i have absolutely no idea how to describe the problem but i figured this place was my best shot as google is giving me no results on my query.
There appears to be no monitor drivers installed on the pc... and its running from the bare minimum settings. I think the refresh rate is set at a low low low setting, because lets say, if i move a window by dragging it across the screen, its all choppy, doesnt move smoothly at all... sort of like it jumps every half a second until i stop moving my mouse, then stops. The same with when i'm scrolling in internet explorer... smooth scrolling doesnt exsist! lol

I figured it was a driver problem seeing as there wasnt one installed. So i found the disk with the drivers on, and followed the instructions, which were as follows:
"Right Click" the mouse anywhere on the "BLANK" area on the desktop and click on PROPERTIES.
Click the SETTINGS tab and then click ADVANCED.
Click the MONITOR tab and then click PROPERTIES.
On the HARDWARE UPDATE WIZARD, select Install from a list of specific location (ADVANCED) then click Next.
On the following window, click on HAVE DISK.
Type “D:\ENGLISH\DRIVERS” (Where “D” is the drive letter of your CD ROM Drive) on INSTALL FROM DISK window then click on OK.

My daughter's AOC monitor died, boo hoo, it was 6 years old so it was bound to happen. O.K., I buy a spanking new Optiquest Q75 plug it in, load the drivers and voila, it totally screws up her pc, I mean the screen was distorted like i never seen before in my life. It was like 2 giant magnets were going up and down the sides of the monitor. I brought the monitor up to my pc, it worked fine...those dam drivers screwed up her entire operating system, I could no get them off her pc so I reformatted her HD, 4 hours and many grey hairs later, (I mean if I still had hair that is), she has a new monitor. Imagine me thinking I was just going to plug it in.

I've downloaded and gone through the Device Manager install of the Vista signed and unsigned drivers from Viewsonic. Choose the vx2835wm as the monitor and... "file not found". Viewsonic support sends me to a link that says "no drivers available" and then says to download their Vista 64 package I've been doing since day 1. (been doing this and all suggestions since Nov 2007)

Vista Ult. 64 uses its default non-pnp drivers where I have my 1920x1200 native res. with everything but gaming (the reason for purchasing this monitor). I can't get anything higher than 1600x1200 (in gaming) and well, its fuzzy. Can't use windowed mode, OS drivers stop functioning and reload frequently. I've set the res. in the nVidia panel to 1920x1200, set the game ini file to 1900x1200 but it still will only work at 1600x1200 although the games support the higher resolutions.

Is there anyone here that uses this monitor that has found Vista 64 drivers that work? If not, is there a 28", or even 30, that has Vista 64 drivers that will work at native resolution with any program or game?

I am ready to sail this monitor out the third floor window and buy another if I can't get a solution for fixing this one so need recommendations on other monitors as well.

A:Viewsonic vx2835wm

Dwarf I don't see your reply here although I did get an email that you posted.

The following link is to the signed standard Viewsonic monitor driver for Vista 64-bit. This driver should be installed with administrative privileges. For games, you might need to adjust your settings such as anti-aliasing in order to be able to use this resolution. The higher certain settings are, the lower the maximum resolution that is available. This is just a matter of trial and error, bearing in mind that higher resolutions require more working RAM on the graphics card and also a card of sufficient power to yield a decent frame rate at these settings.

I did download those many times each time it was updated by Viewsonic. It goes through the device manager wizard fine and then 'file not found'. However, someone did message and email me their driver folder from the monitor cd and it worked. Apparently my cd was a bad one. So all is well and working. Games are working great with the right resolution now.

I was looking to go from my 22 inch NEC FE2111(too big) to an LCD monitor; However, I can't seem to make up my mind. I've narrowed it down to the Viewsonic VP191B ($449.00 at newegg) or the BenQ FP91G+ ($329.00 at newegg). I've heard nothing but good things about BenQ, and I already know the excellent reputation of Viewsonic. I do alot of gaming so that's an important factor. I know CRT has better visual quality than LCD, but I need to conserve space, so any input on these 2 monitors would be appreciated.

A:Viewsonic or BenQ

We use Viewsonic 17'' at my work & they r ok. Although I have a BENQ at home & I find it way better than the others. I had an LG one b4 & seriously the BENQ not only looks better but was cheaper too! they r owned by Acer or some other joint big organisation & are not crappy at all. others have said that because they haven't heard of them then they must be crap, but you just have to research them b4 judging.

So my questions is that have any of you had experience hooking up a second monitor, and if you in fact need drivers or not. When I purchased the monitor it came with no drivers.

Many thanks

A:Drivers for 2nd monitor?

it depends on the input sometimes too a (d-sub) or dvi monitor. (it will only be these two in this case as their wont be a HDMI cable for a 19" monitor)

I recommend you just plug it in, most of the time it will just work, seriously.
If it doesnt that's when you look for the drivers. How are you trying to plug it in, what input are you using? But before you do all this (just to make sure) update your display drivers and your graphics card software first because when you do this, it will eliminate the chances of having to do this later.

Im getting 4 monitors after I hook my pc up into SLI, 2 is fine for me atm. But monitors shouldnt be a problem.

Generally the Plug-n-Play Monitor Monitor driver supplied by Windows by default is just fine and most monitors do not require anything more. If you only have 16 Colors and a resolution of 640x480 then you may need to install teh Video Card drivers to get anything higher.

A:drivers for my monitor

CompUSA does not really make monitors. It is probably some rebranded thing from a real monitor manufacturer. Look at the sticker on the back for some model or serial number that could hint the real company that made it.

Strictly speaking you don't need drivers for a monitor. Just choose any decent monitor from the list Windows gives you and force that. Then just try out the refresh rates and resolutions to see which ones actually work with your monitor.

I recently switched my monitor driver to the Plug and Play driver, but have now switched it back to the optiquest v73 driver. The problem is that now it will NOT let me select as many colors or as many pixels as I had before. For example, the list only goes up to "High Color" when previously I had "True Color." Yet even when I select High Color and then reboot, I am still in 256 colors. Similar problem with resolution.

The driver I am using is called MONITR11.INF; it also tells me I am using an "Optiquest V73 on NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX 440", which is true.

Aditionally, shutting down now causes Windows to close and the screen to turn black, but not the tower to turn off.

I believe I have done nothing with the video card or its drivers that could have caused this.

Hi FairCold and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

Since your LCD monitor is working when you boot into safe mode, that eliminates hardware. It is probably a driver issue or, more likely since your CRT works, a settings issue. What refresh rate have you got it set at? There is generally no need to drive an LCD monitor at a higher rate than 60Hz. A CRT, on the other hand, can work upto 150Hz (depending on model and resolution). If your refresh rate is other than 60Hz, try setting it to that frequency and see what happens.

My monitor is 1.5 years old and has been working perfectly. (I take very good care of my monitor!) Yesterday, with no warning, the screen slightly dimmed and then went black. The "on-off" switch flickered. I tried disconnecting it from my CPU and unplugging it from the electrical source and I tried re-booting my computer. None of this made any difference. I have a new video card but connected the monitor to another computer just in case the new card was bad. Again, no results. I hate to think that a 1.5 year old monitor needs to be replaced. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Does it even go to standby mode ? If you simply connect the monitor to a power socket & not to a computer, when you turn it on it should go into standby mode. If it doesn't even do that then it is your monitor that's at fault (& probably needs to be sent in for repair).

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post here so I hope someone here can help me. I'll lay down my situation, and then I pray someone has an answer for me. Ok, here goes:

I have a ViewSonic 32" LCD T.V./Monitor ((Link: )) Just in case you want to see it.

But anyway, the problem with this monitor is this. Over the past month or two, my monitor began flickering. Over time its gotten worse and worse, and now the screen becomes garbled on the right half of the screen and sometimes it completely blanks out...almost as if the screen is melting. I've tried everything...the first of which was buying new cables. I bought a new monitor cable from my work...but yet the problem persisted. I bought a new graphics card ((ATI Radeon x1650 Pro 512MB card)), installed it...but it was still garbled. Recently I tried hooking a new desktop up to it...and still the monitor was garbled. So I narrowed it down... it has to be something with the monitor. But before any other conclusions are thought up, I also have a Xbox 360 plugged into the monitor that runs screen flickering or garbling present at all. So, the problem must be in the monitor cable adapter/hook-up thing located on the back of the T.V. Before I fight over the manufacturers about fixing my monitor...does anyone know anything else I can attempt to try and fix this thing?

Thanks for any reply....this thing has been a pain....

I have a 15" Viewsonic VA520 LCD monitor that is having some problems.

The monitor has a a built in "auto adjust" and at the moment all of a sudden it keep auto adjusting over and over again. I cant shut my monitor off unless i turn the power cord off and when i do the same problem occurs over again.

Ive unplugged the monitor, then plugged it back in, unplugged all the computer wires and then replugged, done a virus check but it is still like this.

There are 4 buttons on the bottom of the monitor

if i click the 3rd button (the up selection button) and hold it the "adjusting" goes away but the minute i let go it reappears. I hold that button and then hit power the monitor shuts off but not normally.

So i guess my question is how to i make this auto adjust go away other than to take it to a dealer and get it fixed. Im wondering if there are other options.

A:Viewsonic LCD wont shut off

someone just told me this might be a video card problem. Is there any way to figure that out?

I've got a Viewsonic P95f+ monitor.

19" CRT

I keep the brightness at medium level, but it regularly goes darker (Grey/washed out) and it gets harder to read the print (Seems blurry). I haven't nailed down a pattern, but I'd say every 15-20 minutes or so. It lasts 1-10 minutes, then goes back to my regular brightness.

The monitor is probably 5-7 years old, but I've had no problems until now. I recently put in a new power supply and graphics card in my PC, but I can't say if this started before or after those changes.

Could this be a problem with a driver/the graphics card/power supply, or is it just time to get a new monitor? Any tips on how to diagnose?

A:Viewsonic CRT Brightness Problems

Sounds like you will need a new monitor. Since it is happening fairly often hook it up to another computer and see if the same thing happens.

Just purchased a new Viewsonic VA720 17" flat screen & had problems installing same. Took it to technician, paid $60, got it home and plugged it in. Nothing - no screen image and a complete lockup; had to unplug unit from wall to shut down.

Started it with WIN98 emergency disc and it went directly to the BIOS setup with following statement (in red). During the last boot up your system hung up for an improper CPU external speed setting. Your system is now working in safe mode. (Bus: 100MHz, DAM: 100 , PCI: 33 MHz). To optimize the system performance & reliability make sure the CPU speed conforms to the specification of your CPU.

Had previously copied all BIOS data (thank g-d) so went over it & found the tech had turned off the Plug & Play O/S. I turned it back on and the screen showed up immediately with no further problems to date. Called the tech and he claims they always turn off the plug & play as they found it interferes with system operation. Is this true?

Also I still wonder how to optimize the system by making sure the CPU conforms to the specification of the CPU. Any help and/or information on this matter would be greatly appreciated

A:Viewsonic flat screen

I think you will get arguements either way on using plug and play os or not.
I have always used it without a problem and so my feeling is if your going to run a plug and play operating system why disable it.

Hello I recently recieved a a90f CRT 19inch viewsonic monitor

When I plug it in and connect to pc, the yellow power light turns on. When I turn on the pc the yellow light turns to green as normal, but the screen stays black.

I have tried it on as low as 800x600 resolution and on 2 different PC's. Video card ATI radeon 128mb 9800 pro.

Is this a defective monitor? and is it able to be fixed? Or is is most likely a tube problem, or am I missing something in my ignorance. Any help would be appreciated.

A:Viewsonic a90f problem ?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

The fact that you`ve tried the monitor on two different pc`s, would suggest to me that the monitor is faulty.

I have a custom build system that has performed flawlessly since I built it about 15 months ago. I just purchased from Costco, a ViewSonic VA2012wb LCD and it is able to do everything (MSOffice, Internet, etc.) except run my games (Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, etc). Call of Duty upon launch, causes a black screen with 'out of range' complete with system hang - requiring reboot. MOHAA attempts to launch, but fails with the message 'GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem'. All ran fine with my old 17" CRT.
My config is:
Custom Build - P4 3.00GHz PC3200 DDR-1.0GB RAM XP Pro SP2
128MB ATI All-in-Wonder 9600
ViewSonic VA2012wb LCD (used in analog mode) 1680x1050 60Hz(defaults)
HP CD-Writer+ 9100 / SONY DRU 720A DVD RW
DirectX 9.0
I have looked for updates and patches to address the errors at the sites of ATI, ViewSonic, and Windows Updates, with no relief.
I hope someone is familiar with this and can offer a hand.
Thanks - LB

This monitor came with a DMI cable and the usual VGA cable. I ordered and installed an nvision 6200 card and I installed the latest drivers for the card and disabled the onboard video on the motherboard. Question: I attached the DMI and VGA cables onto the Video card but I not sure that this hookup is correct. Should the VGA cable be attached direct;y to the tower or is my present hookup just as good. Picture quality is good but it 'may be' better if the VGA is hooked to the tower. As usual, TIA.

EDIT: Just thought my question and I believed my present hookup is the only way for me to go. Why? Because I disabled the onboard video, hooking the VGA cable to the tower would not do anything for me.

Looking for drivers for L5009 Touchscreen monitor to work with a 64-bit Linux kernel. I'm going to try the EloTouch APR drivers, but was wondering if anyone had gotten one of these working with X-11.

It would be easier to explain what actually works on my system but here it goes.
When having high speed internet installed on my system the tech decided that my computer would be the one that he destroyed that day. He thought it would be nice to erase several programs in windows 98 se and didn't bother to let little old me know what he did or how to rectify the situation. after the attempted installation upon start up I received more error messages than than SPAM in my e-mail. The system informed me that several windows files were corrupt and I could not even use my office 2000 programs??? Well I was a little miffed but trekked on and tried to reinstall my windows however, he erased my driver for the a: drive and I had no way of reinstalling. Now I'm not real smart but I knew I was in trouble when I YES I, erased windows from the C:drive. I knew that I, as well as, my computer needed some professional help. A friend of mine finally managed to get windows installed and I know you'll be as delighted as I was to find out that I could use my office products once again.
Now it seems that my drivers for my monitor are gone, the computer won't recognize my 10/100 eithernet card and my voodoo 2 3D driver is gone as well as my sound card driver.
To compound joy upon joy I no longer have my windows 98se CD's they decided to join that one sock that escaped from the drier in some time space continuum where intelligently challenged people like myself have no acces... Read more

A:Where Oh where has my Monitor/Modem/Drivers gone???

I guess you're not having the best of luck, huh?

How (if I may ask) do you acquire this system? I'm assuming that it came fully loaded, and that your sound, video, and ethernet card came loaded with the system. If this is the case, then I'll also assume that you were not given the software CD's or floppies that contain the drivers for your hardware.
You'll probably have to go to the websites of the manufacturer's of your equipment, and enter your hardware model numbers into a driver search. If you can tell us the exact models of your cards, then we can probably point you in the right direction.
As for the Win98 CD, try asking around if anybody has a copy that you could borrow. Failing that, you could start kissing the butts of your IT guys at work. They might take pity on you and let you "borrow" a copy.

I just reinstalled XP on my computer, and I was previously using a Optiquest (Viewsonic) widescreen monitor. A used the included disc to reinstall the drivers after I reinstalled windows, and the software is unable to configure the drivers. The installer automatically opens a text file which tells me to open the hardware manager and open the "+" next to the Monitor. I don't seem to have a monitor on the list, and I'm not sure what to do. The correct screen size is not available from the display properties tab, presumably because I haven't configured it properly. Any ideas?

Unless you ant to destroy 1 or more of three things, The os, video card or the monitor itself.
I wouldn't play with drivers. Leave it to the pros. You may be able to find a third party driver that would work though

My system is Win XP Home Edition SP3 and up to date. I have just bought and installed a new monitor an AOC 2436Pwa. I switched off my PC, plugged in the VGA cable at both ends and attached the power cable. Started PC and I have sound and vision, I inserted the Installation CD that came with the monitor and read through the various instructions. I went to install the driver on the disc and followed the instructions but when I am asked to choose the drive for the disc Windows tells me that there isn't anything there. Even when I browse to the disc drive I get the same result. Windows seems to be using the same plug and play driver as was used for my previous two monitors for this new one. Two questions, is it neccessary/better to install the drivers which came with the monitor instruction disc or and will it have any advantages or should I just leave it as it is?.

Default Monitor + the one thats only supposed to be there- Samsung Samtron 75E(M) (PLUS)/75V . Which of these are operating my monitor? And i tried remove the DEFAULT MONITOR to only have it reinstall on reboot. How can be sure my SAMSUNG is PRIMARY driver? Plz HELP ? Thanks in advance folks! Later Dean

A:Two Monitor drivers? -98se

Well, if you only use one monitor and it is working then there is no problem, the Samsung monitor is the primary and it seems the only one running. Your video card likely supports dual monitors or TV out and that's why there ae two entries. Monitor drivers are also generally not that important, most people run with the default driver, it is the video card driver that is important - it is what sends the picture to the screen.

I've been doing OK with the driver issues in Vista x64 but have run into a road block with the monitor drivers.
It's a Viewsonic Graphic Series G220F and I have the Vista x64 driver from View sonic but it doesn't install.
They even know it won't install because at the end of installation there is a pop up telling you how to manually install the driver-which doesn't work either.
Everything installs to C:\Viewsonic. About 50 to 75 .icm files including G220F.icm. obviously the one I need. There are also 11 .inf files, 3 of which contain install info for this monitor. But no mater which .inf I use to install- it can't find another file, G220F.icm I assume, and aborts the install. I can manually point windows to the .inf file but there is no way to point the .inf file to the .icm file.
Can someone tell me how to solve this or is there a universal Vista64 display driver other than the ones with it? 1024x768 is as good as it gets.

A:Monitor Drivers won't install

the drivers for the monitor are usually part of windows and don't need installing
you set the resolution from nview which is part of your nvidia drivers installation
you can access it from the control panel

Having an issue with my monitor.
(i should not i have been using this monitor for a long time with this comp...i think it came unpluged and that caused the problem)
It is on all during start up but as soon as windows loads the monitor goes to stand by and i have a blank screen.

I tried to start it in safe mode(how do you do that anyways....i have to turn it off during start up for it to get the menu) and it works fine. this leads me to believe it is the video driver.

I read the trouble shooting on how to instale a new moniter driver but in safe mode there is no "drivers" tab.

Any help would be great.

Hey Guys, I just bought a HP Pavillon desktop with a W1907 19 inch flat panel monitor. I've been using it for a couple of days and everytime that I turn it on a dialog box pops up stating that software has been detected. This software is the device drivers for the monitor, and it asks me if I would like to install them. But when I try to install them, an error message states simply that the installation failed due to an error. It doesn't even tell me what the error was! All it says is to go to the site of the company that made the monitor for support. So I go to the HP website, and try to download the driver from there. Lo and behold, it won't install AGAIN! It says it failed to install because an error occured. I cannot tell you how frustrated I am that this unit is ALREADY having problems, and that HP won't tell me what the error is! So can someone out there please help me?
