Q: KBGear Pablo Tablet: Only 1/2 Working...

After ages of searching, i found one driver for XP for my pablo tablet. since kbgear went outta business they ended production so there were only win9x drivers. Now the driver works ok to use it as a mouse, i can go to the control panel and modify my tablets settings. (i can set what the button does and make it work like a mouse) The problem is, i wanted to use it for pressure purposes (eg harder i push down larger it is or thicker color). In photoshop cs, the pressure doesnt work. Now the pressure also doesn't work in GIMP for Windows. I don't know if my driver supports pressure but i'd like to find out and i want some help.

Hey Tech Guy and Gals,

I have a Gateway CX2618, w/ windows XP tablet edition 2005 version 2002, sp2. And wanted to wipe it clean and reinstall just the things I use. Plus my Tablet side of things hasn't worked in a long time and I was hoping the clean install would fix that.

But my recovery DVD isn't working (could be user error). I DO have apps that I need to keep and I think I've backed them up to my external HD correctly.

Need lots of help, I don't want to get rid of this lappy cause I love its style, but I need it to have better performance.

Thanks in advance

I have upgraded my X201 Tablet to Windows 10 32bit. As far as I can tell, everything is working, including the WACOM drivers and touchscreen.  Wireless has worked perfectly so far, not sure about Bluetooth as I don't use it. My only issue is that the buttons on the display do not work. The power button located on the display does work. I tried installing the Tablet Button Driver II and it will go through the install but the buttons do not work.  This is the download link:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds027627 The document claims Windows 10 compatability and was Last Updated :08 Jun 2015. On inspection, all the files extracted are dated from 2012 and when trying to manually run the software Windows throws up an error that the software is not supported on this PC.   I removed and reinstalled and noted that the driver information page when running the installer does NOT have Windows 10 listed as a supported system. My assumption is that the driver that they have linked on the download page is NOT the most current driver and is infact the driver for Windows 7 from 2012. Does anyone know how to contact Lenovo to get the correct driver posted to the page, or know of an alternate source to try and find it?

I got my hands on a used (kinda old) tablet PC (Fujitsu C-500) that I was able to put WinXP on. It has side keys on it, like a number pad and other things like volume control, and brightness. These work fine, but I can't get the tablet to recognize that I am using the touchscreen itself, even though the other side keys are attached via the touchscreen. It didn't come with a stylus, and I have found a website online to purchase a replacement stylus, but they only sell them in a pack of 5.

First of all, will purchasing a new stylus enable me to use the touchpad itself? And second, is there a generic driver for XP that would allow me to use the stylus or other pointing device (such as a finger) as a "mouse"?

Hi! I tried searching to see if this was already covered and didn't find anything, but maybe it is and I didn't see it. So my Y70 touch screen isn't working, which I enjoy using cause this thing is huge and it's faster with some things. Tablet mode is on, I have Windows 10, it was working a week or so ago. I've finally had time to investigate today. What would cause this to happen? Could updates have installed and done something strange? Thank you!

@Enginestechie?, Thanks for posting back.  I understand the frustration.  However the notebook was designed with an operating system in mind and when you upgrade to another OS there are always bumps in the road and this has been the case for ever.  Keep an eye on the hp support site for updates and releases for Windows 10. Thanks again for the post and have a great day.

Some time in the last month, the tablet function of my X201 Tablet PC conked out.  I'm running Windows 7 (32 bit).  Perhaps there was something wrong with some driver update that was installed either through Windows Update or through the Lenovo Thinkvantage stuff.  I never managed to figure out what was wrong.  I tried installing various updates and drivers from both those sources, and from Wacom, without success.  I couldn't find any thread on the internet that discussed exactly this problem or suggested a solution.  It was a frustrating week! I seem to have solved the problem, though.  Through Control Panel -> Uninstall programs I found and uninstalled everything from Wacom, and all of the "Ultranav" driver stuff from Lenovo.  Altogether there were 6 or so things that I uninstalled.  Then I reinstalled Wacom's tablet driver (ISD Tablet, version 7.1.0-8), and then pen's back, and, indeed, working better than it ever has (the alignment calibration has been terrible since I bought the machine).  I haven't reinstalled the Ultranav drivers, and will probably refrain from doing so. I hope this helps the next frustrated Lenovo tablet user.

This is the video driver version for my HP tablet(HP Website). But unknowingly I installed the latest version(7.15.11.7770) from NVIDIA through Windows update. And from that time onwards, my touch screen stopped working. It is not recognizing my stylus/finger.
I contacted HP care and they advised me to follow these steps.
1) Uninstall the latest driver and install the 11.5682 driver
2) Bios Flash
3) Calibrate
I am done with the first two steps but still my touch screen is not recognizing the pen. So I couldn't calibrate.
When I contacted the HP care again, they are telling it may be because of hardware failure. My notebook is working perfectly except this touchscreen.

Please anyone help me to solve the issue.

I have to unplug and plug it back in several times before I can get the buttons to work. It takes even longer for the pen to work, and when it does it's only detected when I push down full strength. It's seldom detected when lightly pressing or hovering above the tablet screen, like it should and used to. I don't know what's wrong with this damn tablet, it used to work PERFECTLY. Then one day it stopped, and I've been having problems since. The last time I could draw something was about a month ago, and I even had (less severe) issues w it back then. This is just so frustrating.

Here is my tablet

I have the latest (v9.0, July 2014) drivers installed from the description of this specific tablet.

I am not terrible w technology, especially when I have instructions. Usually I can figure out problems myself. I guess I'm better at messing w mobile devices...
EDIT: When the pen does work and pressure sensitivity is detected, it doesn't lasy long. Whenever I try to draw in Paint Tool SAI it's verry jittery and lags quite a bit before stopping altogether.

I own a Fujitsu TH700 Tablet PC. It initially ran Windows 7 and everything was working really well on it, but then I upgraded to Windows 10 (I was curious) and some features just have not worked properly since. The one problem that I have been unable to fix is the touch screen. When the computer is in its "laptop position" (see image) the touch screen works just fine. However, when I rotate the screen and click it into the "tablet position" the touch screen becomes completely unresponsive. When I lift the lid again into the "laptop position", the screen remains unresponsive until I put the computer to sleep and wake it up again. After that, it works completely fine.

When the laptop screen is turned and clicked into the "tablet position", there is a programming shift that happens to turn the laptop into "tablet mode" (this is not the same as Windows 10 tablet mode. In-fact, Windows 10 tablet mode doesn't recognize me turning the screen and clicking it into the "tablet position"). I'm not sure what the differences are between the TH700's laptop mode and tablet mode. The only thing I can see is that the screen auto rotates (as shown in the image).

This malfunction started occurring soon after I downloaded Windows 10, but I'm fairly sure it was working properly for a week or so. It was only when I connected my TH700 (in the "tablet position") into an external projector that the touch scree... Read more

Hi,

The problem I am having is on my Fujitsu t4220 tablet with Vista Business 32bit.

My pen started acting funny the other day and when I would write the letters would run together. So an i would look like an |, for example. It was almost like I was writing in cursive.

That problem hasn't resolved I don't think because an even larger problem has emerged.

My pen has reversed itself for some reason. The eraser is now the pointer and the pointer doesn't even work unless I hold down one of the buttons on the pen.

I just installed some new Wacom drivers, I tried the 5.07 and the 5.10 version. I don't know if they are now conflicting or what.

But I am unable to think of anything else to do. I even tried using my Bamboo pen on my tablet from my desktop.

Should I just run the Fujitsu recovery disc and put on a clean copy of windows? Any help would be appreciated, but I'd need directions on how to do the specific help tips anyone would post.

Thank you.

The speakers for my dell XPS 8500 computer and my dell latitude 10 tablet stopped working on the same day. My computer speakers had been plugged into the monitor and working fine since I got the computer a few months ago. Both the desktop and tablet run windows 8. I have tried dell tech support, but they can not seem to figure it out. I am concerned that since both went out on the same day it could be related. One reason I feel that it may be a single issue is that on one occassion (when I first setup my tablet) my tablet stopped responding and my desktop monitor entered and would not exit standy mode at the exact same time. If anyone has any idea on what could be the cause of the speakers not working on both my desktop and tablet please let me know. I am posting this hear in case its some kind of windows 8 networking issue.

A:Desktop and Tablet Speakers Stopped Working

Since both of your computers are Dells, did Dell support have you run their online diagnostics for your system hardware? The online diagnostics are very much like the PC Doctor based Dell Diagnostics that are likely already installed on both of your Dells. The advantage the online diagnostics have is that they are often more detailed and more up-to-date.

If they didn't have you run them yet, they are free for you to use to troubleshoot your computers. Here's the link to the diagnostics home page --- Dell PC Diagnostics | Dell US --- Note that you can choose which diagnostics to run: 1) all diagnostics 2) diagnostics by symptom 3) diagnostics by component. If you don't have a lot of time, you could start by running the sound system tests.

Both your desktop and your tablet have Realtek audio, ALC3800-CG for the desktop, ALC3261 for the tablet. A feature of Windows 8 is a background service that functions as an Automatic Update for drivers . . . So, possibly both of your computers received a sound driver update on the same day ... or possibly a recent Windows Update arrived on the same day that just happened to affect your sound drivers.

I'll guess that you've already tested for sound with a pair of headphones on each computer?

If it seems likely to be an audio driver issue, you could try different drivers (newer or older, from Dell, Windows Update, or Realtek) ... with the Dell drivers likely to be your first choice. To go straight to the last driver that w... Read more

Got an inspiron 13 7000 yesterday and trying to use for first time.  When switching to tablet mode, the virtural/on-screen keyboard cannot be selected for use.  It is available in laptop mode (when I don't need it because of the large keyboard in front of me), but not table.

So, I called tech support and was told it was outside of regular tech and they'd transfer me to software tech.  They said there is normally a fee for this support, but since the computer is brand new, there would be not charge.  Software tech refused to help me unless I paid and they transferred me back to hardware tech who put me on hold, then hung up on me.

Wow, nice support on a brand new product!  They want me to pay to get their defective product to work?  I guess it would be cheaper for them to pay for a return shipping label, give me a full refund and sell this as a refurb at half of what they sold it to me for then for them to actually spend a few minutes on the phone trying to help.

Before I return this and buy another brand, does anyone know how to get the on-screen keyboard to work on tablet mode?

I received a new large Wacom Pro last week, and since then, my life has been hell trying to get it to work.

Something specific to my Windows 7 machine is blocking the computer's ability to detect the tablet's driver, causing it to work erratically, be detected as a HID mouse, have no button detection, and have no pen sensitivity whatsoever.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers off the Wacom website several times and even replaced my Wacom Pro, but after getting it to work with no problems on other machines (after getting rid of KB3004394 on them, which confused the issue I was having), I've narrowed it down to this computer specifically.

I've tried different USB ports to no avail. My dinky little wacom Bamboo Pen installs right back in just fine on the same USB ports, so it can't be a USB hardware issue. The drivers that I download and the drivers Windows 7 downloads seem to be okay, and are probably why my tablet works at all.

This is what I think the problem is: something in Win 7 seems to be blocking the driver in the USB connection itself. This is due to me getting the error 'THE TABLET DRIVER WAS NOT FOUND' when I try to go into Wacom Tablet Properties. I've got no way beyond that to troubleshoot the problem, however.

Possible suspects:

- Around 11/12, my computer decided it was not genuine. I can't remember what I did that finally got rid of this error, but I think the Check Disk OS scanner that can be accessed through the disk properties menu. Up... Read more

A:Something in Win 7 blocking Wacom Pro tablet driver from working

Sounds weird... Looks like new drivers for USB devices are not a) installed correctly or b) installed, but windows cannot find them.

Have you tried uninstalling the Bamboo Pen drivers, this drivers, and then reinstalling the new drivers? Sometimes that tends to fix this kind of issues. If this doesn't do the trick for you, revert to an old restore point before 11/12, then try to install drivers. That BSOD is not normal... maybe reverting to the old restore point can fix both your tablet issues and the BSOD itself...

Hope this helps

I have literally tried every single thing I can think of. I've had two computer technicians try different things, I've contacted Monoprice support, and nothing is working.

I recently (within the last week) bought a Monoprice MP1060-HA60 (PID 6814) graphics drawing tablet. The pressure sensitivity works but after an undetermined amount of time (can be anywhere from a few seconds to 10 minutes) the tablet stops controlling the mouse. The light on the tablet still lights up when the pen makes contact. I'm wondering if anyone else in the community has had this issue and found something that works?

I've tried the following:
- Installing the drivers from the CD. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times.
- Installing the drivers from the website. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times. There are two versions.

- Installing the Legacy drivers from the UC-Logic website (this worked for a few seconds before causing the tablet to freeze.) Uninstalled and reinstalled several times.
- Installing Photoshop CC 32-bit (since I run a 64-bit system.) Nope.
- Installed an older version of Photoshop (CS6). Works for a few minutes before stopping.

- Tried running Photoshop 64-bit and 32-bit both in compatibility mode with the tablet. Nope.
- Tried messing with all of the settings, nope.

A:X230 Tablet fingerprint reader stopped working

It sounds like hardware failure but try one more thing:

Reboot into BIOS setup (by pressing F1 at the ThinkPad logo screen).
Go to the security -> fingerprint menu.
There's an option about clearing the fingerprint sensor storage (or something like that).
What happens?

Is there a firmware fix?  It appears to be a problem inside the machine and not Windows. When I open the lid all the way, a number of items instantly vanish from the device manager.  -Which is smart for things like the touch pad and the keyboard, but somehow the touch screen and stylus got included in that feature.

Hi,
I got a new Inspiron 15 - 7568. As soon as I flip it into tablet configuration (whether I choose tablet mode or not), touch stops working. Only way to get it to work is to restart the notebook.
When touch is not working, Win 10 reports no touch capability and in Device Manager one USB device has an error "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed". After the restart everything is in order, until try to get it into tablet configuration.
Already updated, drivers, BIOS etc to the latest on Dell site.
I tried disabling USB selective suspend setting in power management - no change.
Has anyone had the same issue?
Any suggestions before it goes to Dell Support?

A:Inspiron 7568 - Touch stops working when in tablet configuration

I am sorry to read that you are having this problem.  Is this something that has always happened since getting the notebook or something that recently started?  Has anything been changed with the system just prior to when the problem started?
If you haven't tried already please download the 0006, a00 version of the touch firmware from here.  I also suggest installing the chipset and Intel Serial I/O drivers as well.
I will likely shoot you a friend request but please reply here if you have tried the drivers that I mentioned and if it made any difference.
Thanks

I have a Motion Computing LS800,OS Windows XP. You write on the screen with a Waco pen(stylus) . It just started to have problems. Works only for a little while right after booting up and then stops working. Also at the same time it has a hard time finding files that it found instantly before, you know the flash light comes on the screen and shines back and forth. Could it be the hard drive is starting to break down? Tried updating drivers and tried system restore, nothing helps, I'm not a tech guy so I don't know

I just bought a brand new bamboo touch & Pen graphics tablet.

I tryed it on adobe photoshop CS4 with the pen presure on opacity so the brush should be lighter or darker depending on how hard you press.

This works about half the time when drawing strait lines at the same pressure, the other half it draws a solid dark line at full pressure without me changing the pressure I put into the physical pen (this is not meant to happen).

If anyone can help me I would be very grateful, thanks.

I have installed win7 64 bit ("fresh install" on my M750-129) and i have also downloaded and installed all the newest drivers from toshiba website.
the device manager shows no problem / drivers needed, and trhings like HDD protection work well.

However, i have four groups of problems i would love and appreciate to find answer:

1) when i change the screen position to tablet, it does not change the orientation nor the resolution.
There is no utility to set the desired orientations of screen as it was in vista (horribly unstable and slow OS, though).
This, naturally, is diminishing the usefullness of the tablet finction

2) the buttons do not work properly; the screen rotation button starts excel (!!) , the centre of mobility button starts word (!!), and the toshiba assistance button does not work at all

3) fingerprints: the fingerprint utility lets me to screen my fingerprint, asks if it should save it, and than says "saving impossible; another duplicate pattern exists" which i completely do not understand what it means...

4) some applications are not available at all after fresh install: face recognition, DVD player, bussines card screener - but i can love without those; 1-3 worries me much much more and i would appreciate any functional help. thanx on advance for any try!

A:Portege M750 tablet, buttons and fingerprint functions not working in win7

Hi

I think you would need an extension package in order to use the tablet functions on the Portege series.
I didn?t find the Tablet PC Extension Package for Win 7 but there is an package for Win Vista.

Usually many tools and drivers which were released for Vista would work with Win 7.
So in my opinion you should try to install additionally this Tablet PC Extension Package.
I think this should solve the issue with the buttons too!

Regarding the fingerprint;
I think the message means that an fingerprint was already registered and therefore an second save is not possible.
Check if you can delete other fingerprints?

I have a laptop (windows 10) that suddenly stopped accessing a number of different random websites, including this one... saying "server DNS address could not be found". Other websites, such as Facebook and yahoo, it still accesses. It does this on the chrome browser and the IE browser. The tablet I'm typing on right now works fine however, and accesses everything without problem. This morning both were working properly; this is a sudden development.

A:Cant access numerous sites on windows 10 laptop; tablet working fine

By the sounds of it your internet service providers main DNS servers are having issues or, network issues. It could be due to your ISP doing network maintenance on their part as well. What can you do? Well instead of using the ISP's DNS you can use a public Google DNS. Inside your router change the DNS to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 However, I don't recommend that you permanently change them from your ISP.

Ahh, back again for more computer troubles. Apologies if this is in the wrong thread.

So, I'm really confused as to how three things have suddenly stopped working out of the blue. My tablet was working perfectly fine earlier, until I restarted my computer. The driver automatically crashes after start up, even after updating the driver. I have also noticed that Windows Photo Viewer and Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 also crash as soon as they're started up.

Any idea how I can fix these sudden problems? It's really frustrating that I can't draw, open photos, OR use Photoshop all of a sudden. Nothing was changed as far as I know for them to stop working.

If it is still under warranty, call Lenovo. IF you tried to reset to factory defaults, and it is still failing, then you have something else that is going bad. My suspicion would be memory as that is what happened to me although it was on a desktop. Something to check...good luck.

My X220 tablet comes with pen and limited touch support with 2 touch points. I have no issues on windows 7 but on windows 8.1 it has changed to be working with only 1 touch point since some time that I don't remember exactly when. So that I can work with one finger only and 2-finger functions such as pinch to zoom are unavailable. My drivers are all uptodate. I think I should completely uninstall the related driver before reinstalling but don't know how to procede and couldn't find the solution. I tried uninstalling all HIDs through Device manager and one-by-one, specifically wacom device. when I uninstall it, I lose touch option completely. but reinstalling through Device Manager sounds like recovering exactly the previous faulty condition. Maybe there is a conflict with windows 8.1 like Microsoft Input Configuration Device which might be unlikely.  So is there any other way to have full wipe and clean reinstall of those touch screen drivers? I appreciate it if you put links to the drivers for me, if they are not available on Lenovo Support. Tell me if you had the same touch issue in Windows 8.1  and how you solved it. Thanks

As far as I am aware, Microsoft are holding back the final look of the desktop version of Windows 8. That's according to CNet in any case. That said, they've had a lot to take on board the last few months feedback wise. I fear they have listened to very little of what customers are actually telling them.

Who then are Microsoft going to listen to? Their customers, or, the Widows 8 fanbois within Microsoft who are determined to ram this touchy feely one size fits all OS down everyones throats? It seems astonishing that Microsoft has taken the two disasters of Vista and Windows Phone and bundled both of them in to one operating system. Is this short sightedness, ideology or just plain stupidity from Microsoft? Time will tell, but I think it's already starting to look very bad.

Unfortunately for Microsoft, l think that my original statement "http://www.eightforums.com/general-d...han-vista.html" is still valid. Windows 8 is a tablet OS, no business will bother with it [even Microsoft have admitted that], desktop users seem to overwhelmingly dislike it, and, to cap it all, Apple have already cornered the entire tablet market.

The question then remains, who are Microsoft trying to sell this odd hybrid to? Certainly not me. I've been using Windows 8 on a desktop for months now and it's not been the most fluid experience. When will Microsoft realise, it's not what's under the bonnet I'm unhappy with, it's the user interface on a desktop computer. ... Read more

A thought: what I do if it were a Notebook or Desktop is would boot to a CD containing a program I purchased that lets me remove the password/s, doesn't show it. It might work on a tablet to plug in a portable CD/DVD drive if having a standard USB port or an OTG/OnTheGo micro USB to standard USB adapter.

I have an old CalComp serial tablet that wouldnít work anymore when I upgraded to PS7. Iím still trying to swing a good deal on one over on E-BAY. With dual monitors I need a bigger tablet than my old 6 X 8 anyway.

But when it worked the stylus options showed up in the options for various tools. If you donít have an option for whether the pressure yields flow, opacity or color with the airbrush for example then PS isnít recognizing the tablet.

Iím not familiar with the Aiptek, but you should have a toolbox under Start>Programs to set how you want it to work. You can use the absolute setting where the tablet corresponds to a point on the screen or the relative where it works like a mouse. You can program the buttons on the pen to right click or double left click. I had one of mine switch between absolute mode (WYSIWYG mode to Calcomp) and the relative mode. The relative mode was set for less motion to do finer work.

If it is completely installed it should work fine in PS without any settings. Moving the pen should move the cursor and the options for the pressures should show up when it detects a pressure sensitive pen.

Hey everybody first time poster with a question I hope you guys can help me with. Me and my fianc? both purchased Nextbook flex 11 tablets as gifts to ourselves. We both opened them Christmas day and hers is working flawless and for the most part mine is. The issue I'm having is when I attempt to download apps from the windows store none of the apps will load and give me an error code. For the first day I was able to download a few apps but not sure what's changed. I can download apps externally such as Spotify with no issue. Both our tablets are windows 10. Any help would be awesome.
Posted via the Windows Central App for Android

A:Help With New Tablet

Kinda hard to tell what the issue could be without knowing the error code(s). You could try and look up these codes on Google or Bing. Most of them are covered on Microsoft-Answers already. A possible reason could be that the store app itself needs an update. Launch the store app, tap on your profile picture and choose "downloads and updates". Now tap "check for updates" and see if an update for the store app comes up. If yes, install it and check if your issues still persist.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 ( windows 10 version, of course) caught my attention for its good price and nice design, but I also found out Linx 1010, which happens to come with a bigger screen (but lower resolution), almost the same specs and a little lower price.

Hey fellow techspotters, ive been dying to get my hands on the new tablets coming out this summer. I just cant decided on which one to burn my hard earned money on. So i would like to know your opinions and suggestions on which tablet would be best suited for a person like, well, us.

Heres my opinion: I love to modify, tweak and personalize my hardware and the software that runs on it. Right now the 3 contenders are the Archos 7 ( came out recently) the HP Slate and the Dell Streak. Both are out this summer, and i think all three are android compatible, but the Archos is only android 1.5 and even though the description on amazon says you can use the android market, it currently doesnt support it. So im most likely going to go with Dell or HP depending which one releases first and if it has android 2.2+ and the android market.

Well as far as web browsing and youtube go I would say get the best priced one and not worry.

As for games and such I will say this, each library of games is getting similar but there are some differences between them so if both have the same things your looking for there then I would again default to the best priced one.

Last thing I will say is the screen is very important so based on that the ipad mini retina does have a better screen so if your after something very media centric then I would say if everything else before is met other than price if your willing to pay the extra the Ipad Mini Retina has a better screen and overall specs so it maybe the best option.

So in short I would say get the Ipad if price is of no concern because it has the more robust set for what your doing otherwise the Nexus is a better price alternative which will still be just fine!

This is actually for darkassain but I thought I'd ask everyone

I've used a lot of different laptops including Tablet PCs. What I'd really want to know, for those who decided to invest in owning one and using it on a daily basis, what's the appeal?

I can see myself using a touch screen on a desktop setup and doing the Minority Report stuff on my screen but why would one decide the jump from a normal laptop to a tablet?

I've read reviews about these twisting screened laptops with their stylus, there's a part of me that wants to understand the need for it.

I hope that you can share your thoughts.

A:Why use a Tablet PC?

Hello Nosferatux.

I believe Tablet gives you a few extras that a normal laptop won't. First off, its the touch screen. Not to mention HP XT2 and DELL XT which even have multi-touch.

Now IMO, the main (and probably the only) advantage of a tablet apart from the touchscreen , against a normal laptop, would be the option to fold the screen down, hold it in your arms and use it like a notepad, with its pen or your fingers, in jobs/places where this would be convenient in some way. Honestly, apart from the touch screen thingy, I see no other use or noticable difference. Then again, I might be missing something.

I have a Fujitsu Stylistic ST5010 that I had to put a Windows XP SP3 on based on company policy (to get it on our network). It previously had Windows XP Tablet Edition. After doing so, I went to the site for all of the drivers for the various components associated with the device (the stylus pen, the hotkey buttons on the side, etc). The stylus does not work (Wacom), and the buttons do not have their same functionality. One works (the one that you hold to emulate Ctrl-Alt-Del), but the rest do not. Also, the system is configured to detect its orientation and change the display on the scree accordingly. Any suggestions on getting this to work, or will it only work with Windows XP Tablet?

I have a Tablet PC for which I can no longer run programs that require ink. Some programs that require ink will run however they are unusable because the pen will not write.

The touch screen is still functioning. I can use it as a mouse input

I removed a couple of programs and suspect that a key library got removed with them. I do not have a restore point to roll back to.

Upon opening OneNote the error message appears asking if I want to send information to Microsoft about the error that keeps OneNote from running. In the detail information is a list of all the libraries OneNote needs. There is no easily discernable information regarding which, if any, of the libraries are missing.

Would it be worth while to hunt down these libraries to see what's missing?

Are there any other courses of action that may allow me to recover this functionality short of reinstalling the OS?

Thanks,
Kevin

Yes and yes. Don't expect it to be really fast though, but the ability to take hand-written notes or type (depending on how you feel) and then save/send/convert those file is great. I have a crappy Acer C110 but it's just fine for using in meetings. That's really the only time I turn it on. Make sure anyone you're sending the files to has downloaded/installed MS Journal through windows update.

Got a tablet for Christmas and am stumped. Seems like it is stuck in an application because using the menu and touching
an icon I get a buzz/vibration and it does not activate. I'm familiar with a PC and know that to kill an application all we
do is click on the X in the upper right hand corner. Is there a similar function on a tabloid?

It is a panimage 7" tablet, OS unknown because the manual and the screen functions give different info as to the OS. Manual
says 1.6, screen shows a kernel of 2.6.29, Firm of 1.6. I tried their support line twice, once the message was you are 94
on the list and the second time I was told you are 109 on the list. build number WMT2.1.7_PD_N model # R79RTW5

Pandigital makes the worst tablets. Return it if you can.

I don't know what you mean by "does not activate". It's probably a crappy resistive touch screen which means you have to press firmly on icons to select them. It's not an iPad or Xoom or Galaxy Tab.

Just considering buying a tablet PC for doing presentations, using GPS (probably Tom Tom 3) and general pc work. I want also to take orders on-site and have my customers sign the tablet then print off the order. Is anyone using this type of system and can you give any advice. I have been considering an HP1100 but really wanted a larger screen and need something fairly robust as I'm in the car most part of the day. Thanks

I have a Lenovo x61 7767-b7U pain in the a** (Am I allowed to use that word here?) tablet PC that constantly freezes up for reasons unknown. I don't want to go into it here, but trust me when I say I have done everything I could, even replaced the damn thing. Same problems. And please don't tell me to try to delete software cause believe I've done EVERYTHING.

Anyway, today I learned that I can downgrade from windows VISTA to XP if I want. Being out of options, I think that might be my best bet.

So my question is: Has anyone experienced Windows XP on a tablet, and how does it work? Thank you.

-Trent

A:XP on a tablet

The Tablet version of the OS is customized to offer Tablet-specific features such as using a stylus for input. Take away those customizations and you likely lose features.

While there are certainly differences between XP Home, Pro, and Tablet, the core is ultimately the same, and I doubt you'll see major improvements in stability by switching from one version of XP to another.

It's a bit suspect that you've swapped out the entire unit and still have the exact same problems. I'd either swap it again or move on and get a different Tablet.

Hi, i'm considering purchasing a tablet in February i'm in the UK, and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good one for around £300-£350. I will be using it for reading books(PDF/Microsoft Reader files), internet browsing, watching movies and maybe playing an occasional game or two. I really hate Apple so no Ipad recommendations please. Can anyone help?

A:Help with tablet choice

Sony s1 tablet is te best tablet out in my opinion. Has full android market so I'm positive you'll be able to find your reader, comes with original ps one titles like crash bandicoot, and can watch movies, it's around $400 for 16gb and I think $500 for 32 gb so I think that's in your price range of £300-350 just check with your local Sony reseller.

Now, this may sound like a stupic question, or even worse, a "how many angels can dance on the head of a pin" inane question, but it is not.  It affects whether a Microsoft Office 365 (Personal or Home) subscription counts the 300 stick against the device count limit for a PC or for a tablet. I installed Office 365 (subscription) Home on the 300 stick, and assumed (since most televisions are not very portable!) that it counted as a PC against my limit of five PCs.  However, looking at https://account.microsoft.com/devices for my account, my 300 stick (along with my Microsoft Surface 3) are labeled tablets.  If that list reflects the test that the Office 365 installer uses, then that's good news, at least in my case. I have not confirmed this, ... I have now apparently confirmed this!  I exceeded my limits for Office 365 Home (limit of five PCs and five tablets) by having four Dell tower machines, one Microsoft Surface 3, and one Lenovo 300 stick, all actively licensed to run Office 365 Home.  That's six machines, so clearly either the Surface 3 or the 300 stick (or both) are considered tablets for the purpose of Office 365 Home licensing.

I did not have a huge amount of time to fully check out the computer in question. She is getting virtual memory too low warnings when attempting to multitask pretty much anything.
Sitting idle with task manager open shows the following.
17-25% CPU usage.
PF Usage history maxed out showing its using 6.43GB

108 Total processes

System Specs:
Toshiba Portege
Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 (Version 2002) Service Pack 3
Core 2 Duo T9500 2.6Ghz
4GB Ram (2.99 recognized)

There are only 5 processes over 20MB of usage the rest go on down the line in size just lots of small ones. So does it sound as if there are too many "startup"/quicklaunch programs installed?

Any reason why Tablet Edition runs heavy on memory?

I forgot to check to see where the hard drive was on storage.

Thanks

A:Tablet PC Issue

108 processes seems way too many. Too many programs running the background may be the cause of the problem.

HELP! I have a one year old Gateway Tablet PC. I have been having problems with it almost since I got it. The low battery light stays on at all times even though I always have it plugged into the AC. My cursor freezes constantly. If I push the button on the front of the screen that puts the keyboard on the screen then usually my cursor will unfreeze. This mmeans that one third of my screen is unseen. Lately it gets hot very quickly. Sometimes the fan comes on and sometimes it doesn't. Also, sometimes I can't get the screen unfrozen, it doesn't respond to Esc and occassionally I even have trouble shutting the computer down - it just doesn't respond. Gateway has sent me 3 replacement batteries - no change

Don't know if this is connected but I have lots of problems with my e-mail. I used Explorer to get to AOL.com so I don't have to have AOL loaded on my computer. I have a Verizon wireless card instead of dial-up. I get the message that my connection has been lost on the average of every 30 minutes. If I click on something it usually comes back. Lots of freeze ups, can't consisteny "send" or open mail. I sent this laptop back to Gateway in June and a week later they sent it back saying it was all fixed but nothing has changed, it's actually gotten worse.

Am I doing something wrong? How can I get Gateway to replace this piece of crap - I'm tired of trying to get it fixed. I'm getting ready to start an online business s... Read more

Hello,

I was hoping to get some help. I've come across a few sites and programs (ie www.nfl.com) that automatically takes me to the mobile version of their site for some parts or assumes by laptop is a tablet as it assumes it is a tablet. Is there anywhere that will allow me to designate that my machine is a laptop ("desktop") and not a tablet and therefore is not a mobile device.

Thank you

I'm rebuilding a fujitsu ST-5020, orgional hd died big time, adding a new HD. I'm trying to find oem win xp tablet edition 2005 software package, all I can find are restore disks, none will allow me to do a clean install. Anybody know where I can find this or maybe download?

A:windows xp tablet

no versions of windows xp can be legally downloaded to my knowledge.if you cant find that specific version you might have to use a restore disk for your model of computer.or maybe just try to find either windows xp home or pro. those might be a bit easier to find.
