Okay in the past few days I am getting a lot of sites that are being displayed in Compatibility mode because of some problem with the webpage. This has never happened before and I could see it happening from time to time on odd sites, but things like foxnews.com and arbusa.com. Any way I just got to thinking that I may have some kind of malware. So I updated Security Essentials and scanned my system with no problems.

Can anyone tell me why so many web pages are no having problems and have to be displayed in comap mode?

Thanks

And this problem is also happening IE with no add-ons. I have even reset IE to like new and problem still continues.

A:IE9 and Compatibility issues

I tried foxnews.com in both IE9 x86 & IE9 x64 - came up without compatibility mode just fine.

So I have an Alienware Aurora, and it's about a year old. When I bought it I thought 6gb of DDR3 RAM would be more than enough, but I have started noticing that when I run games on highest settings my performance monitor is saying that I'm using 90-100% of my available RAM.

I was looking at TigerDirect trying to choose what I should buy, I'm looking to get another 6gb. I'm confused about the difference between PC3-10600, 10660, and 10666. When I look at my computer information, it shows me that I have:

Memory Module
Mem_Capacity: 2048MB
Mem_BankLabel: DIMM #1
Mem_Type: DDR3
Mem_Bandwidth: PC3-10660 (1333 MHz)
Mem_Frequency: 1336MHz

Memory Module
Mem_Capacity: 2048MB
Mem_BankLabel: DIMM #2
Mem_Type: DDR3
Mem_Bandwidth: PC3-10660 (1333 MHz)
Mem_Frequency: 1336MHz

Memory Module
Mem_Capacity: 2048MB
Mem_BankLabel: DIMM #3
Mem_Type: DDR3
Mem_Bandwidth: PC3-10660 (1333 MHz)
Mem_Frequency: 1336MHz

On TigerDirect, I only have the options of PC3-10600, or PC3-10666. Can I use 6gb of 10666 with the already installed 6gb of 10600? Does any RAM I add have to be 1333 MHz to work? What do I need to look for to make sure the RAM I buy will be compatible with the RAM I already have installed?

Hi Guys:

Starting to get desperate here!

Last fall bought a new HP with Vista but came with Windows 7 upgrade, sincerely wish I had left Vista on this computer.

So far this is the list of things that don't work. (hundreds of hours of troubleshooting have not resolved)

1. Hp printer/scanner no drivers.

2. Quickbooks 2009 incompatible. (forced to use XP based laptop, a real pain) Intuit has thrown up their hands and won't support 2009 on Windows 7 based machines.

3. Will not read external hard drive

4. Must load wireless router manually. ( current N router)

5. Will not read digital camera, just grinds away endlessly.

6. Will not load firefox half the time, requires full shut down and reload.

Honestly at the point where I will take this system to the warehouse and use it for email only. ( pretty sad )

I honestly do not know what is going on with Microsoft, this OS was clearly released without adequate testing and now we are stuck with it. As a small business owner we rely on being up and fully operating at all times, simply do not have time to fight with computers just to get the basics working.

Any suggestions out there or do you know anyone who has a good XP based machine for sale (maybe a Mac)

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum,

From your description it sounds like you did an upgrade install. If this is the case the OS will never be right. With an upgrade DVD you can do a clean install, and you should.

Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

If you did an upgrade previously but do a clean install, now, you will be amazed by the difference in performance.

I've spent two days now working to get my PC up to speed so to speak. I use Windows XP, IE 7, Roboform and just started using PC Tools Internet Security with Browser Defender. OK here's the problem......Roboform offers to autofill forms but when I select that option, I get the same message repeatedly and here's how that goes:

IE has encountered an issue and has to close
then upon investigating>>>>>

Application error Faulting application iexplore.exe Faulting module pctbdcore.dll version

To further complicate matters, I contacted Roboform about it and they replied with the following message:

Please uninstall pctbdcore.dll:2.0.5.98 pctbrowserdefender.dll:2.0.5.98
and other malware you have in your browser.

Well swell I think. Like I know how to get in that blasted registry and delete stuff...........yeah right! So I used Malwarebites Anti Malware and it located those same two dll files and it found them to be rogue installers and quarantined them. I think to myself, WOW you go girl. You got it fixed. NO!!!! no such luck. The same issue recurs each time using Roboform and the only way I've been able to use Roboform is to uninstall Browser Defender.

Have any of you encountered this issue? If so, please help me out here and keep in mind I am not too technically inclined................I can walk and chew gum but my basic thinking is KISS..................keep it simple stupid (meaning me being the stupid one)

A:compatibility issues I think?

Personaly I think you will be just fine without the Browser Defender. Just as long as your carefull about what you click on, download and not open e-mail attachments you don't really need antivirus at all. I've never ran AV and never had a virus, my wife (a totaly computer noob) even uses the computer safetly with no AV. I'd guess with 400 identities in Roboform you know your way around the internet and what not to click on.

Hello,

I recently signed up for hosting with "HostPapa". When trying to install a "web disk shortcut for my desktop", it refuses to open. Their support told me they have had issues with "Windows Vista". When I downloaded to my wife's PC with XP everything was fine. So, support told me to use "FileZilla" and download from there. I couldn't get that to work either. Sense my job was eliminated, it's very important that I get this website built. Please give me some help in this matter. I would be greatfull.

The file produced was: webdiskvbs.vbs (4.47 KB)

Thank you,

A:Compatibility Issues

Open a command prompt, but select <b>Run as administrator</b> first. Then CD to where the file is stored and run CScript webdiskvbs.vbs to run the program, this will give enough permissions to run the program and access your system.

Hey there, I have an nvidia XFX 7900GT video card; I recently purchased an ATI TV tuner. I believe it was the TV Tuner Pro but I'm not sure right now. (I'm at work!) I can check when I get home. For some reason I cannot get either of the two to work when they are both in my computer. But separated they work just fine. I've reformatted countless times, and can't figure out what is wrong. Could there be some compatibility issues between some nvidia and ati products that I haven't heard about? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

a friend of mine recently bought 2 identical sticks of 1gb ddr 2100 ram from a well known online auction site, to upgrade his emachines 590 pc. It should have been perfectly compatible, but upon installing the ram he got the dreaded blue screen stop error:
"process1_initialization failure" or something along those lines and a lot of 0x00000012A type numbers.
This also happened with only one stick installed as well.

The ram itself isnt the problem, as it worked fine on my system.

http://www.e4allinc.info/dir1/mothe...78/imperial.htm
here is a bunch of info on the motherboard if you need it.

could the problem be caused by the PSU by any chance? the system has 250W power supply, the cpu is a P4 2.4ghz and Windows is fully updated etc.

any help/ideas would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Hiya

Is this problem still happening? If so, that link is not working, can you post another one?

Certain types of RAM will usually work with only certain types of motherboard. Things that you have to consider are EEC, parity, etc.

For the RAM itself, does it have any special markings, or a number on the side, so we know what type it is?

this game i play had some bugs, so my friend showed me 2 ways of fixing these bugs,

1st fix: right click on properties of game icon, click on compatibility run this program XP service pack 2, instead of service pack 3, i did this, but it caused a new issue, so i went back to service pack 3.

2nd fix: start task manager, end explorer.exe and the game wont bug out, this prooved to give me no problems so i still use this fix.

the problem is, ever since doing this, i noticed a severe different in the way my computer is responding in versatile situations, for example, now when i am running my game, and lets say i have a 2nd or 3rd program running, if im playing the game and i press F11, it usually activates the 2nd or 3rd program, but now if i have the game open, nothing else is reactable, like the game somehow freezes all outside actions.. and i cant relate the game with my macro program or communication programs.. this is really bogus and if anyone could help me out that'd be awesome!
thanks

Yesterday my laptop took a big hit. I am no way a software/computer guy...

First, these are the apps / programs I am running, that hopefully are relevant.

1) M.S. Defender (I can manually turn everything off, when I go to the home page, it states I am fully protected..Still haven't figured that one out...

2) Free version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware..I believe it is only active when I turn the sweep on?, Is that a true observation on my part??

3) Paid version of Webroot anti virus W/ spy sweeper 7.0.4.127.

My questions: I think most here would recommend M.I.S. rather than Microsoft defender...If that is true, should I un-install the defender before installing the M.I.S.?

Also does anyone see any conflicts between these apps. I am currently running???

Back to yesterdays big crash....I was lucky enough to enter Task manager and do a restore point, went back arbitrarily to the time my machine seemed to be accepting M.S. updates.

The only major thing I changed was the DEP so I could down load a fight sim C.D. a few days back. Used it for several years before, W/O any problems, I un-stalled it about a year ago. I have not installed it since the recovery and changed the DEP back to its original setting...(Could that have caused such a Major inciedent??)

Also, (After the restore), I have changed my M.S. updates so I can download but I can choose when I want to install them.. When I download and Install the updates do I have to let the machine cycle through a st... Read more

A:compatibility issues / MS updates

[I will assume that M.I.S. is actually MSE Microsoft Security Essentials.
If correct, just leave defender alone, it will be turned off when you install MSE.

Malwarebytes the free version just runs when you scan, so no conflict

YOu restart after an update only when it tells you to

Hope I guessed right with mse and answered all that you need.

I'm using the Mcafee suite (and after finding out that it fails with the removal of spyware) with malwarebytes free edition and superantispyware free edition.

So, will there e any compatibility issues? Am I safe? :O Do I need anything else?

Thanks!

A:AAm I safe? Are there any compatibility issues?

I personally have had nothing but trouble with McAfee, including the same problem of it failing to remove spyware/viruses. And quite a few other people have had problems with it.

My recommendation: D/L Microsoft Security Essentials (Which consistently caught things on my FD that McAfee failed to catch). MSE will also "play well" with many of the other applications, including Malwarebytes.

What you choose as your AV is up to you, I'd suggest reading this:

What's the Best Anti-virus?

Malwarebytes is definitely a good program to have. I've never had any problems with it. I've never had superantispyware, but I hear it's a good program and one of the few that can weed out various fake AV's

Have you gone to HP's website and looked for the drivers? Here's what I found.

HP Officejet 7130 All-in-One Printer*

Installing the Printer Driver Located in the Windows Vista Operating System*

Note: If you click the first link and follow it it will take you the the last link, but I provided all three just in case. However, it looks like there are no drivers from HP for your printer for Vista, just instructions on how to install "a basic driver solution" through the Vista operating system, thus you'll need to follow those instuctions to hopefully get your printer to work. Note the introduction:

A full feature software and driver package for Windows Vista is not available for your product. However, the Windows Vista operating system installed on your computer contains a basic driver solution for your product.

First off, I like IE9 for most anything. I only wish it were more compatible with some of web sites I frequent.

One of my hobbies is taking consumer surveys. I subscribe to a number of survey sites and get invitations every day. I found that when I upgraded to IE9 from IE8, I could no longer take certain surveys because the framework they were built with did some things that IE9 wouldn't deal with as IE8 did so well. I'm sure these web site building frameworks are doing all sorts of undocumented and down right evil things.

Speaking of evil frameworks for web sites - my oldest daughter teaches on-line classes in IT at a university in the northwest. She discovered that the commercial web site builder they were using did some bad and silly things with IE9. She had to tell all her students they had to avoid IE9 if they were in her class. When she visited a few weeks ago, she demonstrated some of these gems for me. Nothing crashed, but certain things just didn't work or look right.

What does work for me now is Chrome. I use it to access the gmail account I use for the survey invitations and then to run the surveys. Chrome never fails to do the right thing. I have also used virtual XP mode and IE8 with the expected success. It's just easier to launch Chrome and do my surveys. I use IE9 for all other web browsing.

To be sure - the IE9 compatibility mode does not solve these issues.

Bye.

The mitigations offered by EMET have the potential to break some applications.  This thread is to discuss people's experiences with applications that do not work correctly under EMET.  The goal is to isolate which specific mitigations cause problems
and for which applications (or plug-ins where appropriate).  For those trying to determine which mitigations are causing problems, the most likely candidates are EAF and DEP.
Here are the issues the EMET support team has been able to confirm:

A:Compatibility issues with vista

you can try right clicking on them and run as administrator. you need to run the install in xp compatibility mode. Right click on the setup file on the cd and go to properties click the compatibility tab and set it to run in xp compatibility mode. you will probably want to run as administrator also. Then launch the game as administrator. It will get almost all of the older games to run.

If you have enough old games you may just consider going into user management and turning off uac. But you may find yourself turning it back on when some newer stuff starts acting odd. Also having uac off does open you up to some malware attacks. But it sure gets rid of that annoying continue button.

I have a mother board (ms-7058) and am curious to find out what processors are compatible as well as video cards, I know its old I just want to explore options before buying all new components.

A:Solved: compatibility issues

A search on the MSI website brings up these two motherboards: http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=searchresult&keywords=ms-7058

If you are unsure which of those two you have, open up the side of the case and in most cases the advertising model number, 915P Combo or 915G Combo, will be marked on the board.

But CPU support is limited to Pentium 4's and Celeron D's - both considered obsolete.

The board does support PCI-Express video cards but where you will be limited is by your power supply and the processor you have - any modern mid to high end card will be performance limited by a Pentium 4 processor.

You're best bet may be to consider a new system and sell this one.

Hi -

Do you have Visual Studio 2005 SP1 installed? Here is link -
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

As for SQL Server 2000, there is SP4 for issues involving XP & Server 2003 x64 systems - Not sure is you are Vista x86 or x64 or if SP4 even applies to Vista x64 -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/898042

Based on your post, it sound like Vista compatibility with SQL Server 2000 may be an issue. Per this link, prior versions are SQL Server 2005 & now 2008 -

I would suggest that you check WERCON and Event Viewer for further info -

The same issue has started occuring with Skype too.

Anyone have any clues as to whats happened?

I sincerely apologize to anyone who sees this and the issues mentioned have been solved previously.

Background: I was running MS Vista Home Basic on a Dell Dimension 4500S desktop for the past couple of years. Recently (about 1 month ago) it contracted a virus that completely corrupted a boot file and caused failure to load the operating system, and it wasn't able to go into safe mode. Long story short, I was forced to do an OS reinstall without the driver disc for the console, which I no longer have. My problem is 2-pronged:

1. I was able to locate the driver which I believe previously ran my graphics adapter on dell.com. However, instead of staying installed, Vista continues to reinstall the VGA adapter each and every time the system is restarted. Hi -

You should contact Dell Support and purchase Vista OEM replacement DVDs -

http://support.dell.com/support/topi...=19&l=en&s=dhs

The price is around $20.

The key code on your Dell system cannot be used with a full retail version of Vista.

Before installing Vista with Dell Vista OEM DVD, wipe the entire HDD with KillDisk -

Well having run out of places to look for an awnser I've ended up here... Which is good considering you seem like a pretty knowlegable bunch.

Anyway, I'm running an older chipset, an intel i845pe to be exact. (My specs are below) I got it about summer 03 (although it was originally released in october 02) which unfortunately put me just outside the advent of ddr2. Although the rest of my system can cope fine with todays games, the stress they put on my GPU is less than desirable and it just feels like its time to upgrade.

I've looked at a bunch of cards (particularly from ati) and decided the X850 XT would be a go at the high end of still compatible agp type cards...the only problem is the cards onboard ram is ddr2 and I don't know if that would create a problem or not.

I also forgot to check and see if my socket was compatible which kinda puts my out look on things as increasingly more grim at this point, so if anyone has any anwsers or other suggestions I'm open to them all... Otherwise I'll probably have to settle with my old Aiw radeon 9700 pro 128mb (the fan quit on me so I'm currently running an 9600 until I replace it). Again, any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Hey guys, I didnt know whether or not to put this in as a driver issue or as a hardware issue. I chose driver issue because I believe that no proper drivers exist for this adapter. What I have bought is a TTX tech wireless Xbox 360 Adapter. I had no idea when i bought it that it wouldn't immediately work with windows 7 (running on premium x64). I have done all I can possibly think of doing. I have gone to Microsoft.com and found the proper drivers/software to run bot wired and wireless controllers but i am still unable to find the device. If it is any help, the device and the controller seem to work and connect but they do not connect to the computer. Hope someone can figure this one out for me.
Regards
Josh

A:TTX tech xbox 360 compatibility issues

It sounds like you'd have to go back to the OEM and see if they have drivers. My guess is, much of these generic accessories won't work. The Microsoft ones have been selling for about $16, so unless you have a driver from the OEM, I'd get the official one.

My system has following Hard drive

which has become corrupt, I want to change it what specifications should I see when buying a new hard drive? thanks

A:Which Hard Drive to buy, Are there any compatibility issues.

Thanks to some natural disasters in Asia, this isn't the best time to be buying a HDD, but then again, you probably aren't in a position to wait. Any SATA hard drive would be fine. Your computer doesn't have SATA 6.0 connectors yet, so you don't necessarily need to buy a drive that's at that speed. However, given the age of your computer, if you plan to upgrade soon, you might as well go with an SATA 6.0 (aka SATA III) drive. This way, you can use it in a new computer at full speed.

I ran Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and followed all of the instructions to make sure my computer was ready for the upgrade. Now the installation won't run because it says I still need to delete Trend Micro Antivirus and Google Toolbar, both of which I have already deleted. I have searched my computer and deleted anything and everything that had Google or Trend Micro on it. It still won't finish. When I deleted everything, I used Control Panel> Uninstall Programs.

My computer is an HP Pavillion Media Center m8100n TV PC, Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, 3072MB System Memory, 500GB Hard drive, 3.0 GB RAM, and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ 2.80 GHz.

Is there anywhere else I need to look for these files, or do you have any general suggestions on the upgrade?

A:Windows 7 Installation Compatibility Issues

Is there any reason in specific you are running the UA? As far as general suggestions, I would advise backing up your data and doing a clean install instead of the upgrade. The clean install will allow Windows 7 to run as smooth as possible and will also help if you have any future issues. I attached a few links that may help you. The first is for general media [non-upgrade media]. The second is specific for upgrade media. Also, don't hesitate about coming back if you have any issues. Just remember to search first.

the program i use to configure my keyboard is microsoft intellitype pro

whats going on here? is there any way to fix this problem? i like winamp, and would like to keep using it, but i really want my media keys to work properly with it

So a few weeks back I bought a new computer, this time with win 8, got home and started installing my standard games and programs. To little surprise many had to be worked with for some time in order to work, some in the end unsuccessfully. These are the moments I wish I was a console gamer.

At any rate, one of said games I did not manage to get running on this system was Total war: Medieval 2, one of my absolute favorites in the genre. I was frustrated but after hours of the same I gave up, did'nt even bother uninstalling it. Then a few days back, I see it on my desctop, and having forgotten that it wouldnt start, I wonder, "why have i not played this game in a while?". Click on it, it starts up and runs perfectly, and this lasts for a few days.

I played yesterday, had a blast. Then today, starting the game, the same error message that first so infuriated me appears, and suddenly I remember that yeah, thats why I haven't played it.

Given the fact that it suddenly became incompatible I'd assume maybe it is related to some update, but there has been no change in my pc from yesterday to today that I'm aware of. Naturally I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and running in all different compatibility modes, but to no avail. It is a mystery to me, hopefully someone here has some idea of what could be causing this. Thanks in advance!

I'm currently helping a non-profit organization by creating an Access database to bring together several years of data captured on Excel worksheets. They do not currently have Access on their computers. While I've used Access for 20 years or so, it has always been (I think?) part of M$ Office. So I have some questions about what version of Access they should buy.

Is there a difference in the ability to export to and/or import from Excel worksheets between a standalone Access and Access that's an integral part of M$ Office Pro? I suspect not, but need to make sure.

The computer upon which we intend to install Access currently has M$ Office Home & Student 2007 (has Word, Excel, PowerPoint). We were considering buying the latest version of Access (2010, 32-bit), but in the specs, M$ says, "Importing data requires Excel 2010 or Outlook 2010". Knowing that M$ has a penchant for pushing upgrades, is that actually true, or will Access 2010 import Excel 2007 worksheets? Will it import Excel 2000/2003 worksheets?

I am still using Office 2000, partly because I run a business with it and most of my clients have Office 2000, or 2003, which are upward and downward compatible. The database I've designed for this organization is, therefore, in Access 2000 format. Can Access 2010 open and use databases designed in 2000 format (assume so)? Does it have to convert them to do so, and is the converted database then incompatible with my Access 2000 (I... Read more

I recently installed Spybot a couple weeks ago, ran a scan and nothing turned up. I also disabled teatimer from running in the background/spybot from booting up at startup.

However, a couple days ago, when I booted up my computer, the McAfee icon in the system tray had the red circle with the line through it. Right-click, selected "Enable McAfee," gave permission for it to run, and nothing happened. I went to the Console and couldn't enable the On-Access Scanner and the Access Protection & Buffer Overflow Protection were disabled. However, Windows Security didn't mind at all, like it normally does when McAfee is turned off. Restarted the computer, and there occasionally a Windows Security icon popping up saying McAfee isn't enabled or McAfee reporting itself as disabled and the option to enable/disable sometimes can be selected.

I ran a Malwarebytes and McAfee scan, nothing found, though Malwarebytes kept freezing when I tried to look up its status & it took longer than normal to complete the scan. Should I just remove Spybot or is it McAfee's problem?

Hello,

Last week I got a new top-end notebook (Sager NP8690 w/ LCD widescreen, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M w/ 1GB GDDR3) with Windows 7 Ultimate. I installed successfully four games into Windows 7, but starting games created full-screen problem for Windows 7. Game full screen did not work under Windows 7 because my mouse click is not on the game screen and the game screen looks like a square (not widescreen) - half size of the LCD screen and both side of game screen is blank. So, I disabled (by unclick the box) the game full screen in game preference option, and it worked fine after that. That was happened to Torchlight, World of Warcraft online game and Civilization 4 completed edition. Only unworkable game software for Windows 7 is DOSBOX - used for pre-Windows 95 and DOS game compatibility (Under Windows XP worked fantastic). Only game works well with Windows 7 is Defense Grid: The Awakening. Previously, all games work great on Windows XP. I am wondering if these usual error is a major bug for Windows 7, especially screen resolution, and/or game compatibility issues with Windows 7? Let me know. Thanks!

Sincerely yours,

Jeffrey

So, my sister bought me an 8GB flash drive that has a Shrek-like design on it.....awkward

Anyways, when I store files in it, for example:

And I safely removed it and plugged it again, the file, or in this situation, the files are now corrupted!

And so, I checked the properties of the flash drive:

The system is FAT32, all of the hardwares in the flash drive 'is working properly', but on the ReadyBoost tab, it says it 'requires USB 2.0 or above', so I'm guessing that this flash drive supports on a lower version of USB. Maybe 1.1 or something?

What does this mean? Do I have to update or install drivers? Do I have to convert it or something?

A:Flash Drive Compatibility Issues (I think)

Are you worried because you can't play those 3 files?

Or are you worried about Readyboost?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReadyBoost

It's a caching tool. I'm guessing you did NOT buy the flash drive to use it as a cache, but rather to use it for normal purposes.

Is WMP the default player for those file types---can you play those files with WMP if those files are sitting on your hard drive, rather than on the flash drive?

I would appreciate any advice/recommendations as to how to fix this problem

Hello.I have been reading for some time now to try to figure out a way to configure and run Remote Desktop (which I have never used at all) such that I can remotely run programs, etc. on my home desktop computer from my mobile computer (i.e., my laptop). I have Windows XP PRO SP3 as the OS on my laptop. Thus, everything is good on its end. However, my desktop has Windows XP HOME SP3. So I think therein lies the problem.By my reading, a computer whose OS is XP HOME cannot be on the receiving end of Remote Desktop. When I speak of "Remote Desktop" here, I am referring to the Windows application that is accessed via right-clicking My Computer, selecting Properties, and then selecting the Remote tab to configure. As a recently ordained intermediate user, I have tried to read about applications like UltraVNC and others, but I get bogged down in the details and am unable to determine if my desired task is possible using such a program, especially free programs, with these 2 computers.I know that applications like ShowMyPC.com, which I have used on occasion to help my mother fix her computer, allow one user to remotely run apps on a second computer, but the 2nd computer must have a user there to give the first user a passcode. Thus, such programs would be examples of REMOTE ASSISTANCE as opposed to REMOTE DESKTOP. I wanted to also mention that my laptop is wirelessly connected to my LAN network (to my high-speed cable modem) via a Netgear RangeMax Wireless Router WP... Read more

I am editing video and music and desperately need more RAM. I'm using a pc purchased in 2007, running Windows XP 32-bit. The maximum ram I can install (and actually use) on a 32-bit system is 4GB. I considered upgrading to Win 8, but I just learned this motherboard can't handle anything beyond XP anyway. I was told that I could add more RAM...IF I had 64-bit software. Someone that seemed to know what they were talking about claimed that the business of 32 or 64 was not hardware-bound, but was entirely software. So I would think that all I'd need to do would be to purchase some 64-bit software...but given the motherboard I'm currently stuck with, it would have to be XP 64-bit. I've located a seller of such, and I have a memory vendor I want to use, but before I spend money on software or memory that might not work because of some obscure compatibility issue, I am RUNNING to the Tech Support Guy! I read a warning somewhere that one must be sure to have a machine that can have or run 64-bit drivers (?) even if you have 64-bit software. Until I get a definitive answer to these things, I feel immobilized and I've got a lot of editing to do! I hope one of you at TSG can provide an accurate and authoritative answer about these pesky details! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

I don't want to have to purchase a full version of adobe. Any suggestions?

Hi guys,

I'm writing this from work, so I'll make it quick and keep my boss happy.

In the office we run both Outlook 2003 and 2007, as most of the computers aren't built to deal with 2007 in terms of performance. I often move around the office and find that I'm jumping between 2003 and 2007 fairly regularly. This throws up enough issues on its own with flags, categories and syncronisation, but the most recent (and annoying one) involves calendars

I've made two new calendars (for a couple of meeting rooms so people can book them easily), but I originally made them in Outlook 2007, so all the guys using 2003 couldn't access it. Now I'm trying to make them in 2003, but I get half a million errors whenever I try to add something or share the calendar.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this.

I recently baught a EVGA GTX 1060, as this 630 has become quite long in the tooth and I figured I would try to future proof myself a bit as the rest of my components seem to be working just fine.  However, I cannot get the card to work properly on this partcular computer.  Oddly enough I can get past the boot screen eventually after several short beeps and letting it sit, but it takes fowever to get to the desktop and it clearly isn't running properly as the resolution is wonky and Nvidia's software can't even detect the card.  I'd assume I had gotten this far because of intergrated graphics of some sort, but as far as I know this motherboard lacks that.   I know the card works fine as I tested it in my other tower, so I've been struggling to find a solution.  So far it seems like the issue is most likely the motherboard, as HP hasn't put out a new BIOS for it since early 2013 (which I did go ahead and install).  If true I'm left with either two options it seems like, ditch the system entirely or find a motherboard that works with all my old components.  I'd prefer to not have to dump this workhorse when all the other parts work great, so if there isn't a work around I'd like to know if there are any motherboards I could upgrade to that would work with the rest of my components.  I'd normally not bother with even asking, but I'm hearing a lot of chatter about HP prebuilt PCs having compatability issues. I bought this computer ... @Faver?, welcome to the forum. Your problem is the BIOS.  However, it is because the GTX 1060 requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  The BIOS can't be upgraded to UEFI.  The last cards not to require UEFI were the GTX 660/670's. MSI does make cards that have a switch that allows them to be used with either UEFI or a Legacy BIOS.  If you decide to go that way, you should contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your system. Upgrading the motherboard can be a problem.  HP has their boards made to their specs.  Therefore, they are not necessarily the same as the retail versions.  You have to assure that the holes in the motherboard match the stand-offs in the case.  Also, some members have had problems with the connectors in the the front case connections, such as, the power button. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I've recently been having trouble installing official and forceware drivers for my Geforce 8400m GS on my Dell 1420 since I upgrade to Windows 7 32-bit from Vista. When I uninstall my current drivers and reboot Windows fails to boot in normal or safe mode. Generally when I install drivers I reboot into safe mode, run driver sweeper and properly install them. Windows kept freezing at the classpnp.sys file so I changed the file to classpnp.old after some research but it started to BSOD me at the disk.sys file.

So I tried to just outright install the drivers from device manager by upgrading and I would get a message saying Windows couldn't find drivers compatible with any of my hardware. I've done a lot of homework, downloaded countless drivers, disabled aero, used mobility modder, and done just about all I feel I can do to fix this. These drivers worked fine with Vista and I really don't want to downgrade because I lost my product key and disc so that would be a pain. If anyone has had this issue and knows of a driver of modified inf file that would fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it. This has been frustrating to say the least

I want to run an old game on my computer. I have Windows Vista 64-bit, I have 4 GB of ram. Now I installed the game on Compatibility Mode and the game starts but I can't see the units while I'm playing. I also noticed that this game shows some of your pcs specs and there I saw that it only detected 112 Mb of RAM, while I actually have 4 GB. Then I modified my boot settings to use only 2 GB of ram and the game started working fine, I saw all the units, etc. Only problem is that I don't know if changing maximum RAM on boot will eventually cause a problem. I would like to know if there's a way of running the game with less RAM (2 GB) since I don't want to be changing the boot settings every time I want to play this game.

A:Old game won't run on vista. Already tried Compatibility Mode. RAM issues

If your Comaptiblity mode doesn't do the trick then run the game in backwards compatilbility Mode say for windows 98 and also run in Administrator Mode. That worked for me when I was trying to run Vampire Masquerade and the game runs great now.

Please help ~ I need some advice!
2 years ago, I switched to an Android phone after feeling frustrated with Apple, but I still have a Macbook Pro on which to download and share from.
I use the device mainly as a phone and a camera, and the memory has filled up fast.
The Samsung program designed to download pictures, music and videos compatible with is called Kies. Recently they changed that to Samsung Smartswitch. Neither are great programs at all. To be expected.
At the moment the problem is, every time I go to pull any pictures or videos off my phone onto my computer, the phone freezes up. I have opened up lots of memory and downloaded the new Smartswitch program but still the phone is crashing. Every time I speak to Samsung the only advice they have is to reboot the phone, take out the battery and re-download the program... & I've done that 6 times now!
I'm used to my Apple laptop and haven't had anything but Apple in a decade and now, I'm afraid that Apple might be the problem ~ not sure.
(I need help ~ I'm a single mum with a toddler. I started building My new system and I finally got everything installed and in working order. I turned it on and everything seemed to be working perfectly all the Fans worked, all the LED lights turned on, No beeb codes. Hard drive turned on as well, but nothing dislplayed on the monitor. just a no signal screen. I was wondering if it was because of a compatibility issue between mobo, and video card, or do you think it could be the mobo itself, Im pretty sure its not the Video Card because its brand new, and I had tried another one before as well.

here are the specs for my system

MOBO - Foxconn 975X7AB-8EKRS2H LGA 775 Intel 975X ATX Intel CrossFire
CPU- Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 Wolfdale 2.53GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
RAM - A-DATA 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
GPU - ATI HD 3850 512 MB
HDD - SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s

A:MOBO/Video Card Compatibility Issues?

Make sure that if your mobo supports onboard video that it is disabled in the BIOS. In some cases, you may need to utilize the integrated graphics until you install and configure the new graphics adapter. If you are doing a fresh install of Windows, the OEM CD-ROM should assign a generic driver until you install the correct ForceWare. Also, make sure that you have enough power to run the card and that your monitor is set up to receive the correct input. (VGA vs. DVI)

I recently download a slew of legacy games for my laptop but I was too lazy to emulate an OS for them, now I notice that whenever I try to play any of them that no matter what I get a little box about a third of my screen size, the rest is black. This box isn't affected by having "Run Maximized" or the other two options checked, this feature seems not to work suddenly, there was one particular game that kept crashing the system, it only did this after that mess, it might be some kind of protective measure that has to do with Comodo perhaps, I don't know and I'm not inclined to care other than wanting this fixed.

I'm not restoring of course so just tell me what the problem is.

A:Display issues stemming from compatibility mode (maybe).

Solved, Intel has a scaling display feature which is selected by default at optimal resolutions, it has other options at other resolutions, including the center option (which isn't present for most resolutions), this was turned on for some reason, even though I did not myself turn the resolution down to make the option selectable in the first place, the solution was to turn the resolution down; then tick it off then turn it back to one of the optimal ones where it was not present. This is done via Intel's manager program. Thanks for all the help.

Hi! Recently, I installed Windows 10 64x on my HP Probook 5330m. Some of the drivers I installed were not compatible. The results were: 1: Fingerprint reader not working2: HP Protect Tools not working - After I installed it, the Windows login screen starts flashing and freezes. No password, no fingerprint reader there. Just flashes and a blank screen. (Compatibility issue, I think) I have to install a new windows after that.3: And some other minor problems Previously, I had Windows 7 64 bit and everything was working fine on it. Three options were there to log in on the login screen (Password, face detection, and fingerprint). What should I do? Love windows 10 and doesn't want to go back to 7. I just wanted to ask, is there any alternative or compatible software like HP ProtectTools? Can you provide a fix for it? Thanks!

Hello to all Solidworks Cad users who have made the switch over to Windows 7.

Back in January I installed W7 and nearly everything worked quite flawlessly. With the exception of two drivers &/or softwares:

1- Asus Rampage Extreme Supremfx x-fi Creative Sound Blaster driver recognition & creative audio console launcher.

Most importantly of all is...

2- Dassault Solidworks 2007 thru 2009 all service packs 0 thru 5.0 & 3.0 early visibility with 2009, install properly display properly but seem to have some bug.

The bug/issue is that you can not open any SW or other imported CAD files without causing the program to immediately crash.

Also, you can not save any files that you work with in Solidworks that are new either.

To go without the web based client sound processing software from creative is a big deal, as I like most everyone on the planet loves music.

Yet I was content to go on using W7 with it's basic plain sound, as opposed to the multi-faceted processing power of creatives' sound blaster software.

It should be noted that another thread here on Seven Forums has brought some light upon this issue.

Just this thread is titled such to make the issue more known so that Solidworks users as well as microsoft are clearly made aware of the situation.

So, that these issues can become resolved prior to the upcoming W7 RC(which is already being used...just I have not tried it out yet), as well as the Windows 7 retail version release.

A:Windows 7 & All Solidworks 2007-2009 CAD Compatibility Issues

I can say that Windows7 RC 7100 now opens/saves files within the SW application rather well.

And, I am now back to W7 for good.

Alrighty! Here goes!

I've been searching online for five hours looking for fixes for this. I recently replaced the Windows 8 on this Notebook with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Edition because, simply put, I bloody hate Windows 8.

This has become problematic for me because it appears that there are no compatible drivers that pair Windows 7 and this device's hardware.

I posted in Yahoo Answers about an hour and ten minutes ago and I'm incredibly frustrated with the results (go figure). A link to that question, in case I forget any information I mentioned there: Downgrading to Windows 7 with HP 2000-2b89WM Notebook? - Yahoo! Answers

The product information page for the HP 2000-2b89WM Notebook is located here: HP 2000-2b89WM Notebook PC Product Specifications HP 2000-2b89WM Notebook PC | HP? Support

I have several drivers that are "Out of date." The main one that I'm worried about is the Graphics/Display driver. On the HP website, the device is listed as: Intel HD graphics 3000 with up to 1696MB total graphics memory.

I've tried installing the Windows 8 drivers (which do nothing) and I have also tried updating my drivers through Windows Update. I've also visited HP's driver site, Intel's, and even NVidia, I believe, all to no avail.

I'm hoping that an informed someone can tell me whether or not there are drivers for my graphics chip, and if there are, where I can find them and how I can install them in working order.

Thank you so much for any help! ... Read more

Hi all,

I noticed shortly after installing a bunch of updates I started having compatibility issues with programs. Unless I run them under Windows XP Service Pack 2 with admin permissions, they don't work. It's extremely problematic and some prgorams I straight-up can't get to work. It's time-consuming and a headache and I want to go back to how things were before, with prgrams starting up normally with no fuss.

Sadly system restore is useless as there isn't a back-up point before it (it doesn't keep them very long apparently...) and uninstalling the updates didn't seem to do much good + Windows likes to reinstall more updates after. Admittedly I haven't tried uninstalling some graphics card and Realtek network card or w/e updates but I don't see why'd they be related.

So yeah, I'm kinda stuck here, any suggestions on how to get things back to how they were so my programs are running WITHOUT compatibility issues? I pretty much gave all the info I could think of but if you have any more specific questions that might help help me, please ask.

Thanks for your time and have a great day. =)

2. I have Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition installed in Program Files and tried installing outside Program Files.

Could someone help me?

You need to install SP1 for Visual Studio 2005 first: Download details: Visual Studio? 2005 Team Suite SP1. Then you should be able to install Download details: VS2005 SP1 Update for Vista, which is an update to Visual Studio 2005 SP1 that allows it to work properly with Windows Vista.

Hello all,

As this is my first post here, I can't post links of the motherboard specs. So, you can just google ASRock P4i45GX PE and check it out.

It says something that the maximum graphics memory is 64 MB, but I'm unsure about it. So, are there any geeks out there who can help? I'll be glad.

A:Compatibility Issues? Upgrading from Intel 82845G Graphics Card

Hello henson93. Welcome to Techspot.

It seems that your motherboard is based on the Intel 845G chipset. I cannot find your mobo's product sheet anywhere but it's likely that you have an AGP 4X slot. The most powerful AGP card that would be comaptible with AGP 4X is the Radeon HD 4670. However, they cost over $100 and definitely cannot provide the performance levels of newer (PCI-E) cards available at a similar cost.

It would be helpful if you could confirm whether you have that AGP 4X slot on your mobo. Also, what is the reason for your upgrading to a discrete GPU. Are you looking to play games?

Hi Everybody,

I have gone thru the tutorial of installing a dual boot to my laptop. I have windows 7 as the first install, and I am trying to add Windows XP. I successfully partitioned the hard disk using the tutorial(using disk management to shrink drive C and creating a new partitioned drive). When I insert the Windows XP installer which I bought, I am able to click the Install Windows XP, but then this error comes out:

"This program is blocked due to compatibility issues." and something like: "Setup cannout continue because the version of windows on your computer is newer than the version on the CD."

When I try to do the install on start-up, the setup is running but then I stumble again to an error:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer", blah blah. And the technical info is like "***STOP: 0x0000007B"

Can anybody help me with this?

Hi there
Due to the Boot mechanism differences between XP and W7 in general you should install the OLDER OS FIRST.

What's happening here is that the XP boot mechanism which is different from W7 is attempting to hose up the boost files.

Some people have got XP to dual boot with W7 installed first however but if it doesn't work install XP first.

These forums have an excellent tutorial for BOTH CASES.

Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP

You can "Force" the XP system to work when W7 is installed first by "hiding" the W7 partition and setting the partition on which you want to install XP as "Active". GPARTED will do this.

However you'll then need to fiddle around with a boot manager.

My advice would be to wipe the discs, re-partition and start again installing XP first.

W7 also often adds a small ACTIVE "System" partition which causes problems when installing XP as this is the "Active" partition so again I'd suggest you'll have a lot less problems installing XP first.

Don't forgget also with XP you probably will need to "slipstream" SATA drivers or your XP system won't find any hard disks -- you might be able to set the disks to IDE in the bios which will get round the problem.

Cheers
jimbo

Hello,

I recently had issues with my PSU and rather than play guesswork on whether its still functional, I rather just replace it.

My motherboard is a m3n78-pro. Its a bit dated but I'd like for this pc to last another 6 months before I build an entirely new rig. If I read the manual correctly, it requires ATX 12V V2.0.

The PSU I'd like to change to (since it just has to last another 6 months) this 900 w PSU. Would the m3n78-pro be compatible with this PSU? One concern I had was that the m3n78-pro requires a 4 pin ATX +12v connector. If I read the PSU's specifications correctly it has one 12V 8-pin (4 + 4) CPU power connector. Is that 8-pin two separate power connector, ie do I just use 1 of the connectors to fit into the 4 pin ATX +12v connector?

Please excuse my noobishness but what exactly does the v2.92 Motherboard specification entail? I tried to google it, but got less useful information and product results from newegg.

Also I read the wiki on the ATX 12V V2.X standard, but it didn't answer my question - is ATX12V v2.3 backwards compatible with the ATX12V v2.0 standard?
Thank you very much for any help you can give.

Ok, so hi everyone again and sorry for this but yes... I just downgraded from Windows 8 and so far I'm not very happy for a few reasons (more like problems) that I really need help with... So, before I go into exposing my problem I'd just like to give some background so you know where I'm at:

Instead of doing a so called downgrade and going through all that process of contacting the manufacturer and asking for the software required I decided to go full-on cowboy and take my chances doing a clean install of Windows 7; So I booted from the disc and got some problems (which I later fixed) with the whole partitions thing (I ended up deleting all of them and having only 1 partition filled with unalloc'ed space to which I installed Windows 7 (x64 BTW)); after that I got everything going and I once again ran into some issues, this time I had no Internet Connection either wireless or wired...

Long story short, I went to Samsung's site for a product I believe is equal or at least very simillar to mine (my laptop is a Samsung NP350-V5C-S04PT) and I downloaded the x64 drivers for the wireless LAN (got that working) and downloaded the both x64 and x86 drivers for the LAN device (also got that working) I was happy! But then... More issues....

I noticed I wasn't being able to switch to the aero graphics configuration, which made no sense considering the computer has a fairly good graphics setup and once more I got myself to the device manager to see what's going on... Everything... Read more

A:Compatibility issues after downgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 7

You have an intel graphics card and not a ATI thats why the catalyst drivers wont install
The chipset drivers will get rid of the SM bus & USB issue
The card reader drivers will fix the USB CRW issue

I had to downgrade a samsung 350 laptop the other day which had exactly the same issues. I'll look for the drivers and get back to you as soon as i can find them.
But in the mean time if you look at the hardware ID's it will steer you in the right direction

Question: When Win7 says "This program has known compatibility issues", is it basing it on an analysis of what the program is doing, or is it consulting a list of programs?

So far, I have encountered this with DaemonTools (even though their site claims it's Win7 compatible), ZoneAlarm, and Adobe Reader (version 7 - I don't know why that's the latest one I can download fresh from their site, because I know version 9 is out). I've gone ahead and used Adobe Reader because I needed it and it seemed to work okay, but I didn't want to chance it with something like ZoneAlarm that is going to attach itself deep into the OS.

Any advice?

A:"known compatibility issues"

It's list based and I'd be more inclined to trust the software developer as the list as it's probably out-of-date.

Although, if you're looking for a replacement for daemon tools, slysofts virtual clonedrive is a good option.

Basically, I installed a new program and a window popped up saying there are known compatibility issues, when I did an update to that program. I suspect that one of the downloaded update files is not compatible with the Windows 7 RC (I re-installed the program again and it worked fine, but the same problem occurred when I did the updates). I ticked the "Do not show again box" and clicked on "Run program anyway". This made the initial program corrupt. My question now is, how do I undo this? How do I make that file not run again (because I clicked on "Do not show again" didn't I). Is there a settings page somewhere to undo this?

A:"Known Compatibility Issues"

hi t89, welcome to the forum.

i'm not sure i understood your post, but did you want the program not to run again?

can you not just uninstall the program?

Hi, I have a Logitech G9 and have had trouble finding a suitable mousemat for it.

I first purchased a Razer eXactMat, but I found that after a few months with it, the mouse skates wore down terribly so that the mouse was actually touching the mouse mat. I sent away for a new logitech G9 as I was unable to find replacement skates. Therefore I decided to buy a soft mouse pad so that the new mouse skates wouldn't be ruined.

I purchased the Steelseries Qck Mini, which served me no better than the razer. The mouse was not damaged by using it, but the mouse has tracking problems when it is used. For example, it is impossible to move the mouse in a straight line, as the laser isn't touching a smooth surface, this is my attempt at drawing a straight line on paint...

Which is at a low sensitivity, when I increase the sensitivity the problem is exacerbated. Furthermore, the mouse mat is unable to sense quick movements. For example, if I move the mouse from one side to the other really quickly, it only travels roughly half the distance of when I move the mouse slowly from one side to the other. The problem is not down to my mouse, as it works perfectly on the wood table surface.

I am now considering purchasing a third mouse mat, but I really do not know which one to get.

Very sorry for the long post, any help would be greatly appreciated

Okay, About three months ago, I got hacked HARD...permissions were changed, administrator rights were removed from my administrator accounts, etc. i was flabbergasted. THe iactually didn't bother me though until I ran a MBAM scan and found 133 viruses and spyware instances on my drive (NOT including tracking cookies!). I cleaned and recleaned, using MBAM, SuperantiSpyware, Avira, running each one in safe mode first, then loading into my normal account and running them, and finally erasing my user account and creating a new one. But even after the new user account was created with Administrator privileges, I still routinely received virus and Malware threat warnign flags from MBAM and Avira. Eventually, Avira and MBAM were disabled and Avira was "deleted" (Windows will not uninstall because the setup.exe file has been 'Changed" and won't reinstall it because I don't have "Administrator privileges" on my Administrator accounts!) even though at startup I receive an error message saying that Avira has been corrupted. The most telling issue is that antivirus and spyware/Malware scans come up clean on Safe mode scans, but using my normal account, the machine reboots. Using Superantispyware I notice that it's always during the memory test that this occurs (and in Safe Mode, it passes through this section with no issue). None of my antivirus programs will download updates, even ones I start manually, and although I have no problem acc... Read more

hi, welcome to TSG.
I don't see anything wrong with your log, except for too many programmes running!
When was the last time you ran disk defragmenter?
you have far too many start up items, use the link below to trim them down.

Try trunning these tools see if they find anything and ccleaner will get rid of a lot of unnecessary files like temp files etc!
download ccleaner

* Install CCleaner
* Launch CCleaner and look in the upper right corner and click on the "Options" button.
* Click "Advanced" and remove the check by "Only delete files in Windows temp folders older than 48 hours".
* Click OK
* Do not run CCleaner yet. You will run it later in safe mode.

go to this site and download these tools and once you get both
adaware Se 1.6 and spybot, update both of them.

Set adaware to do a full system scan and deselect, "search for neglible risk
entries". Click next to start the scan. Delete everything adaware finds.

reboot and now run spybot

Spybot: Search and destroy.

Delete what spybot finds marked in red. After updating spybot hit the
immunize button.

reboot again

Go here and download Microsoft Antispyware Beta. First in the top menu click
File then Check for updates to download the definitons updates.

Hi All,

I've just bought an PII/PIII m/board that has a 66/100 mhz bus. The reason i why i bought it was because i thought my parents old PIII m/board was faulty (freezing and two or three popped caps) and this board was the exact same board. However, it did not turn out to be the m/board so i thought i might just use it for another basic PC.

The problem is i've put PC133 (256MB) and PC100 (64MB) into the m/board. The pc boots up fine to the BIOS screen but hangs after the memory test everytime. This happens with only AGP card installed (hdd, fdd, cd, modem etc are all disconnected). I thought it maybe a "halt on all errors" setting within the BIOS (due to me only having a USB keyboard, but i've since attached a PS/2 keyboard with no luck) however i cant get to the BIOS.

Can anyone tell me if my RAM is compatible? I still need to flash the firmware to get it up to scratch however i cant even get it past this memory test to do it. Any help would be great. thanks

Regards
Steve

Hi, I'm trying to figure out what type of memory I need to upgrade my computer and online memory scans from certain sites are not giving me a clear enough idea. Currently I have 2GB of DDR2 PC-5300 667mhz and I want to upgrade it to 4GB. I only have two memory slots compatible for 16GB but only tested for 4GB according to the motherboard manufacturer. This means I'm going to have buy two sticks of 2GB. I want to purchase the new memory locally and all I see for sale of 2GB sticks is DDR2 PC 6400. This is where I get confused. I don't understand what PC 6400 is as compared to PC 5300 and if my motherboard or computer is compatible with it. I think it has to do with the processor from some of the things that I have read. Because my processor is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6Ghz I assumed that it's only compatible with PC 5300 Ram or lower and brought PC 5300 Ram. Before spending $120 + I want to be sure that I'm buying exactly the right thing.

The manual for my motherboard states exactly this

Two 240-pin DIMM slots for DDR2 SDRAM memory modules
Supports Dual Channel DDR2 800/667/533/400 memory bus
Maximum installed memory is 16* GB
(* Duo to the DRAM maximum size is 2 GB at present, the memory
maximum size we have tested is 4 GB.)

This doesn't give any indication as to PC 2700, 3200, 5300 and 6400 ram etc. Basically I don't know what determines compatibility for that, the motherboard or processor; if their is even a compatibility r... Read more

A:Ram Compatibility ?

Hey there, The PC6400 RAM will slow down to the PC5300 state when put into your motherboard. That is what it did in my board as well. Also PC 6400 and 5300 are called DDR2 RAM and PC 3200 and 2700 are DDR RAM which is older.

I am currently using WD + Malwarebytes anti-malware (premium) & Malwarebytes anti-exploit (premium), and I am thinking of switching to a paid anti-virus solution such as Vipre. Do Malwarebytes and Vipre play nice?
