Deleted Graphics Drivers By Accident

Q: Deleted Graphics Drivers By Accident

Hey Guys I screwed up as follows:

I was fooling around with my graphics drivers and accidentally deleted them. A screen popped up to reboot the computer. It rebooted.

Now whenever I restart my computer, first a microsoft screen appears, then it appears to load but I have no on-screen visual as i get a monitor error message (Not Optimum Mode, Recommended 1920x1200, 60Hz), I am therefore unable to download and install any updated drivers.

What Can I do to restore my Drivers or at least get a visual to Re-install them?

I'm running Windows Vista, and one of the newer NVidia Graphics Cards.

A: Deleted Graphics Drivers By Accident

I believe you'd need to boot into safe mode in order to get the resolution down, or at least that's the easiest way I can think of. Boot into safe mode and allow as much as possible, try installing your drivers from there.

I ran a full system scan using avast, when complete it told me to run a boot time scan, so I did. Tower boots up fine, but it's not recognizing monitor. I believe it deleted my graphics card drivers. The tower boots up, it even recognizes my external Wi-Fi. But it's not recognizing my monitor. Is it possible to fix this? Or do I need to buy a new card?

A:boot time scan may have deleted graphics drivers?

The generic drivers would have been used if that was the case.

Do you see Windows logo? BIOS screen? or no display from start to login?

Try unplug both PC and monitor from mains power. Wait a minute and re-plug, see if that helps.

If you can see Windows logo, after trying above, also try going in to F8 menu and select "Last Known Good Configuration"

Hello, I recently purchased Dell XPS 8700 that came with a 2tb harddive formatted with GPT. The computer came with Windows 8, and I wanted to downgrade to Windows 7. However the windows installer wouldn't install on any of the current partitions, so I deleted every partition with gParted and proceeded to install Windows 7 successfully onto the one giant partition. Since I deleted all the GPT partition information (Idiotically), I am unable to make more partitions and dual boot.

So my questions are: Is my harddrive as of right now in MBR or GPT? And how would I add the GPT partitions back, as in the primary and secondary GPT headers?

Edit: I am attempting to dual boot with Xubuntu 14.04 and Windows 7 Professional, both 64bit and the computer has the UEFI, I think. Am I better off using MBR or GPT to dual boot? I only want two OS's and a shared data partition.

A:Deleted all the GPT Partitions by accident

Since I deleted all the GPT partition information (Idiotically), I am unable to make more partitions and dual boot.

Deleting all GPT partitions is a recommended step to downgrade "Windows 8" as "Windows 7" is known to not much liking GPT based UEFI boot mode. Although "Win 7" 64 bit edition may boot from a GPT disk, i prefer MBR partitioning especially in case of dual booting with Linux. The only mistake you made here is not to partition the disk at the time of install. Fortunately you can split the single large "C" partition to two or three small partitions with the help of "Partition Wizard" free edition.
Download link : Best Free Partition Manager Freeware and free partition magic for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP 32 bit & 64 bit. MiniTool Free Partition Manager Software Home Edition.
What you need to do is first shrink/resize "C" and create one or more new partitions using the free space.

I have a 2TB external hard drive and a 1TB external hard drive.
I got a new 2TB internal hard drive and was installing Windows on it.
On the screen where it showed the connected drives, I stupidly forgot the 2 external drives were still connected. I thought somehow it was breaking up the new 2TB internal drive into 3 separate partitions. I clicked on the two external drives and deleted the partitions because I thought it would merge them. I DID NOT format luckily.
I am in the middle of running the Analyzer using TestDisk on the 2TB external. Since it is a 2TB hard drive, it is analyzing about 10% of the disk per day. So I guess it will take 10 days to finish. Small price to pay if I can recover all the data on these drives. One has all our home movies and photos and the other has all our scanned documents in PDF format. Sigh.
I am wondering if I am doing this the right way with TestDisk? Is there a faster way? When I deleted the partitions, the process took less than a second. The drives were partitioned to used 100% of the drive space. I read the page TestDisk Step By Step but still not sure if there isn't an easier way for my particular blunder. Nothing should be corrupted. Just deleted.
Thank you!

A:Deleted Partitions By Accident Please Help

Yes it should be faster. I thought there were two levels to the restore deleted partitions and only the deeper level involves scanning the surface for old deleted partitions.

A:deleted userinit.exe by accident

There is a backup copy in C:\Windows\System32\dllcache

most of the time it is compressed in this folder.

Here is a copy of it from my XP installation (uncompressed)
See attached
You will need a XP install CD and use recovery environment to copy the file to the proper place, or use an Ubuntu boot CD to do it.

Here is an article on using a Ubuntu CD to copy data off an unbootable windows PC, one could also use it to copy a file to a Windows folder.

Ok, so i deleted the 'desktop' folder by accident from the My Documents window (or just above my documents folder)...

Now the 'Desktop icon' at the top of the folder list shows a different set of shortcuts/folders (incl. RecycleBin, Network etc etc)... the now 'yellow' desktop folder that is under the 'user' is messed up.

I've attached 2 screen shots because i'm sure my explanation is poor. Anyway, this is driving me crazy - can't figure it out. I've been messing around with it for hours - at one point i had 'desktop' with about 15 'desktop' subfolders......

But for some reason it doesnt look like my trash folders are synced up with my godaddy account?

But I looked for the email on the godaddy server & it wasnt in my inbox on their cloud mail client either?

A:Just deleted an email by accident, now I cant find it?

I don't know anything about godaddy, but do they have a spam folder? Chances are that it isn't there either, otherwise your client wouldn't have received it. Do you have the client set to leave the messages on godaddy? If so, either the client or godaddy is haywire. If in neither place, I would say that it is gone, unless you use a file recovery program to search for it.

I accidently deleted the Administrator file and need to know how to get it back where the Owner file is. I moved the file from the Recycle bin by click and hold and moved to desktop. I know I should have restored. Now it has the desktop as its routing (I can't think what else to call it). I can now log on if the error message that says "microsoft cannot log on" stays on the screen long enough to click OK. If the screen does not stay the computer trys to boot up (I guess) but will not do anything until the screen times out and I press a key; than the "microsoft cannot log on" error message will come up and I click OK. Than a screen appears that shows the Owner and I click on it and every thing works all right. I would apprciate any help. Let me know if I need to explain more.

Stupidly, I decided to delete all of the desktop.ini files I could find (in My Pictures, My Music, My Documents) thinking somehow, that would fix it.

It didn't. So now those three folders lost their little special-folder images (as well as the icons for C:, D: etc under 'My Computer', and my VS is still the same. I'm annoyed!. Can anyone help?

A:StyleXP not working & I deleted desktop.ini on accident

Hi toybird

Sorry for the delay in getting a reply to you (been busy). Any luck yet finding a solution?

If not, try these for a quick repair
1) System Restore
2) Uninstall StyleXP
3) Run a Registry Cleaner (CCleaner is effective).
4) Reinstall StypeXP

. . . and anytime you have unexpected system behavior, run some malware scans to rule out unexpected visitors causing havor with your system files.

To try System Restore:
1) Boot your computer into Safe Mode (start tapping the F8 key as the computer is starting up, and select "Safe Mode" from the Boot Menu).
2) Logon as "Administrator".
3) Click on Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore, and select a restore point from before trouble started.

Try CCleaner to clean up
1) You can download CCleaner here ---
2) Run the "Cleaner" functions to clean up temp files & other accumulating unnecessary files. Then run the "Issues" functions to clear up problems in the Registry. Run the "Issues" functions until CCleaner reports "no issues found."
Best of luck

When trying to reformat the inspiron I accidently used the xps recovery and reformat disk to try to reinstall everything on the insiron. The trouble now is, all of the drivers are for the xps but are installed to the inspiron resulting in no sound or recognition of the wireless card, etc. I am pretty sure I deleted my inspiron's partition and cannot partake in the Ctrl + F11 command. Thing is I do not need the entire folder just maybe 100 mb of some files that are inside which is just pdf and documents. Any idea on what I can do? I tried to install [email protected] on a few Toshiba laptops, but it needs a newer Catalyst driver than the latest available on Toshiba's website (their drivers not being updated since March). This page said that "Some OEM and some laptop vendors modify the Catalyst drivers that ship with their cards" and recommends just downloading from ATI's site. Is there any technical disadvantage or pitfall in doing that if the driver's custom? I'm guessing it would be unsupported by Toshiba, at least.

A:OEM-provided drivers versus vanilla graphics drivers?

Be sure to read the release notes for the driver and make certain that it supports your model. If not, look in the archives and find an older one.

Usually, the standard ATI driver will work on an OEM machine. It's not unusual for the manufacturer's site to post only the driver they shipped with the machine. But you can always roll back if it does not work as desired (an option in Device Manager).

HP DV6 6121tx
Windows 7 64bit

I just reinstalled Windows and I want to update my graphics drivers to the latest ones (13.1). I'm runnning Dynamic mode.
So at first I installed the latest HP provided AMD Display drivers from HP's website
AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver HP Pavilion dv6-6121tx Entertainment Notebook PC | HP? Support

Now I thought I'm supposed to install any new versions of HP drivers *over* this since this HP one contained drivers essential for dynamic switching. But if I run the 13.1 installer and view the log, it skips over the display driver part and just updates AMD install manager and some other useless components.

How do I install 13.1 without messing up dynamic switchable graphics?

A:Updating graphics drivers on switchable graphics

Unless HP decides to release an updated driver, you're basically stuck with what you have. As you found out the driver from AMD won't install. That is because it doesn't include/support the switchable graphics.

Now with that said there is this modded set,

that includes both the latest AMD and Intel driver, and is modded to work with most laptops with that combination.

Hi, I'm not entirely sure what i have but whenever i turn on my computer, AVG pops up saying, Virus identified Worm/Generic.AQVG. I click the heal button and the files get sent to the virus vault. The files usually are in my drivers folder and i was questioning whether AVG is reliable because when i scanned one of the files that it said was infected with another virus scan, it said there was not threat detected. The only thing that might prove that i do have a virus is that the Sound MAX digital audio got deleted and my standby button is greyed out, and is not an option to press. And also my dvd/cd-rom drives and chipset are corrupted/missing. I'm not sure if i have the terminology right because i don't know what half these things are but all i know is that they don't work. I've been scanning my computer but nothing has been showing up. Help, please.

I recently reformatted my computer, after it went FUBAR on me, and now I am having some glitchy scrolls whenever I scroll down web pages, and I have no sound, it's the same thing that happened the last time I reformatted it, and it was like 5 months ago, so I can't remember the damned names of the drivers. Any help? I have windows xp home edition, and my graphics card is an ATI.. I remember something on the lines of CCC (Catalyst Control Center)? Does that help you any? Hi - help!! I have a Samsung R60 plus and use Windows Vista. I think that when trying to free up some disk space (by removing programmes I don't use any more) I accidentally deleted something I shouldn't. Because now I can't burn CDs / DVDs, or even drag and drop photos / videos to the CD/DVD drive. I get a message saying the computer does not have a driver installed. It's a minefield trying to find what I need to reinstall and I am pretty clueless (hence deleting them in the first place).

I looked at the system restore thing but it seems I don't have any back ups to restore back to a time before I did the evil deed. I know. I'm rubbish. But can anyone help??

My work machine is an older (2001) Dell Dimension 4300.
P4 1.6ghz 512ram, Intel 845 chipset

I got a new monitor, Acer1916Wide and my 16mb ATI Rage 128 Ultra wouldn't support 1440 x 900, so today I bought a Radeon 9550 AGP card.

Being in a rush and not paying attention, I tried to install without deleting the old drivers. Then when it wouldn't work I put the old card in and downloaded Driver Cleaner. Grrr... being stupid again and in a rush to leave work I deleted ATI stuff and I believe a SISVGA? something that I thought was part of the drivers.

From that point on I couldn't get into Windows, it looks like it's loading and then the screen goes black. Can't get into safe mode. Wouldn't go back to last working configuration either.

Have I removed my standard VGA driver? Is there a way to install it through DOS, or with a bootable floppy?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a strange situation. Every week or so, my monitor driver is getting deleted and replaced with the standard MS " NonPNPMonitor" Driver. I can replace it with the right driver but it keeps getting deleted on it's own. I know the person that uses the computer is not deleting it. It doesn't seem related to reboot but I guess it could be happening. My systems are set to reboot at 6am so I am not here to see what happens. I am using the most current and correct driver. I have reinstalled this 6 times in 2 months. Can anyone enlighten me as to how to fix/stop this annoying situation?

Hey everyone about a few months ago I was trying to update my iphone and was having problems doing so and i restarted my computer with the phone still hooked up like I have done many times before but when windows came up I had no usb drivers, sound drivers, network drivers. so now the only way I can use a keyboard and mouse is ps2 and I only have a ps2 keyboard

and from what windows is saying the drivers are missing or corrupted and if I try to reinstall them it fails. if I try to boot from the cd and do an upgrade or repair it says it has to be run inside windows which I cant do as there are no drivers, how do I go about fixing this? this is windows 7 pro x64

A:Drivers deleted or corrupted

Boot the Win7 DVD or Repair CD, select Repair My Computer on second screen, accept any offered Repair. If Win7 doesn't start up, boot back in to run Startup Repair
repeatedly until it starts.

Startup Repair is run from boot only in Win7. It should automate System Restore, but if not and it fails boot back in to run that from System Recovery Options

You can copy out your files using DVD/Repair CD with this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Next see if you can boot into Safe Mode to install and run a full Malwarebytes scan. If not, download and burn to CD Bitdefender bootable AV scan: FREE Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CDs Download List to boot and run a full scan.

If this cleans up infection, try retarting WIn7. If that fails, try all Repairs again including SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot

A:Deleted sound drivers

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You need to reinstall the sound drivers.

If your computer is pre built such as Dell/HP/Compaq etc, you can get the sound drivers from your computer manufacturers website.

If your computer is custom built and has onboard sound, you can get the drivers from your mobo(motherboard) manufacturers website.

If you have a separate soundcard, then you should have a cd that came with the card. This will have the drivers on it.

Driver needed guys, i think this may be a tricky one, this is my computer here:

a new OS installed on my desktop by a computer techie.

Its great, computer is really fast now BUT vital drivers are now missing!!

Ethernet Controller
Multimedia Audio Controller
PCI Flash Memory
PCi Modem
Sm Bus Controller
VIeo Controller(vga compatible)
All of the above have an exclamation mark beside them in the drivers list.

The main ones are the sound and ethernet controller! as i can no longer use the internet. But luckily the wireless function is still working so i can still go wi-fi on my laptop.

Need SERIOUS HELP getting these, rang tech support which was premium rate, saying they only supply drivers on a website for the Iqon Laptops not desktops and that the Iqon Desktop drivers are built into the recovery cd (i did not receive a recovery cd with mine as the F10 on startup does the recovery feature but this feature has now vanished since new OS was installed!) So they recommed i pay 120euros getting a brand new recovery cd as all the drivers will be on it, surely i can just download the drivers from somewhere.

So I was clearing out some stuff on my PC and I found a AMD catalyst software thing which I thought to be for my old graphics card (I recently upgraded to a NVIDIA) so I uninstalled it thinking nothin of it I then restated my PC following a windows update, and my mouse and keyboard was not working neither was any other usb device! But my mouse and keyboard still work in boot menus and in the BIOS so I assume it is a driver issue! I have tried my mouse on other pcs and it works fine!!

I was just wondering if there is any possible way to fix this, like downloading the driver from the BIOS menu or something! I need my computer as soon as possible

I am using windows 7 if you're wondering with an MSI MS-7721 motherboard, AMD processor I'm not sure on much else I'm not really a tech guy

Also my computer has a PS2 input for keyboard and mouse, like the old style green and purple so would it work if I purchased a ps2 mouse and then installed the drivers again

Please can someone help me fast!!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You`ve deleted the sound drivers.

If you have onboard sound, then you can get the drivers from your mobo manufacturers website.

If you have a separate soundcard, then you will need to go to the souncard manufacturers website.

If you have deleted the drivers for your modem, then again you can get these from your modem manufactuers website.

If you go HERE and read my post. You will notice a link to the free Everest programme. It will give you lots of info about your system.

Hi all, nice to be here and hope you may be able to help.

I was using Spacemonger (with Windows Vista Basic) the other day to clear out (what I thought was) unnecessary toot on my computer HD and I think I've got rid of something fairly important.

I was reading this:, and on their advice removed the 'Filedepository' folder. Now my plug-and-play devices won't work.

I'm using a Fujifilm s6500 digital camera which should work automatically with Vista. However, when I plug it in now it's saying it can't find the drivers and that I need to insert a driver disc, which I don't have, nor did I ever have. I've tried downloading the drivers from the Fuji website to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? I'm fairly sure when I first plugged it in it worked straight away without any need to drivers, so I think it must be something I've done faffing about with things I don't really understand.

Any help would be great as I'm tearing my hair out here. Thanks in advance!

I think I deleted the drivers (I think they are called "Avance AC97 Audio") for the onboard sound card. Now, when I reboot the machine:
1) The computer identifies a new piece of hardware "PCI Multimedia Audio Device", and
2) If I ignore this message (by hitting Cancel to allow the machine to continue its reboot) then I get no sound.

The reason that I uninstalled the "Avance AC97 Audio" file(s) was because XP Upgrade Advisor gave me the following message in the Upgrade Report under "Hardware Compatibility Issues":
......"Setup has found hardware on your computer that is incompatible with (that is, it does not work with) Windows XP. The following hardware might need additional files in order to work with Windows XP. It is recommended that you obtain these drivers in advance. Please note that some of the following entries might be software that is registered as hardware".......

I suppose when Upgrade Advisor identified "Avance AC97 Audio" as one of the Hardware Compatibility Issues I was confused by what was required and ended up uninstalling it when I should not have.

I tried this link for the Avance AC97 Audio drivers:
but it asks to specify which AC97 Codecs I want and I did not know which ones to choose. How can I tell what version I would need? I also did not understand whether to specify "... Read more

I would go with the complete download. Make sure you read any instructions they have for you. Print them out if you have to. Usually it will be a ".exe" file that you will have to doubleclick on to install it. It should walk you through the rest. Just read it well so you know what it's doing.

Well i will try to describe this as best as i can.
About a month ago I Installed AVG Antivirus.. and set its scheduled scans for 6am every day.

On the 02/08/2007.. it found A0074593.exe(1.2MB) in C:\System Volume Information\_restore and added it to the virus vault. I think this is where it started, but i cannot be sure. (Some similar files were detected at an earlier date)

Anyway, on the 04/08/2007.. AVG Detected system32\dllcache\tcpip.sys and system32\drivers\tcpip.sys as infected with Backdoor.Hupigon.XTA. I've tried to Google it, but found only posts in foreign languages.

I got a warning, saying "Your windows Files are different to the originals, do you want to replace them?" or something like that. I assumed it was BitComet interfering with the tcpip files or something, so i ignored it. Nothing happened until i restarted my computer on the 05/08/2007, and AVG detected 2 new files A0085231.sys and A0085232.sys in the C:\System Volume Information\_restore folders again.

I didn't know what to do.. and the tcpip files were GONE.. so my network was not working at all. All i could think of doing was Start>Run>sfc.exe /scannow. I put in the Windows CD and it did the scan, and then i restarted the computer. (It took 3 restarts to get into Windows, it kept crashing at the Login screen.. Blue Screen and Restarted itself automatically)

The tcpip files had returned... and i AVG scanned again, but it didn't pick anything up. I did a bit of reading abo... Read more

Well I was trying to update my mother board. So I removed what I thought wasn't needed. I believe they where the Nvidia drivers. After restarting my computer (thinking I did a good thing) my mouse and keyboard will not work.

Now I can hit delete to start in "safe mode" but I have no other options from that point on. I have tried restarting from the "last saved point" but it just restarts again, whith my font all big, and no use of the mouse or kevboard.

I saw on here someone suggested to clear the "cmos jumpers" but after reading through my mother boards guide I can't figure out how to do it.

My board is a "NFORCE4M-A" it's a 64 FX processor if that helps. I no longer have the CD for windows XP. Just, dont know where it is, or even I loaded it. This computer was built by a computer repair shop. They might still have it. Just dont know.

So if the solution is anything like reinstalling XP, I'd just have to buy a new copy right?

thanks for any help guys

Boot off of the XP CD Or download the Recovery Console ISO. Burn it to CD with IMGBurn and get to the Recovery Console. Here type chkdsk /R and press enter. The Check Disk utility will try and fix any file errors.
You can also download the ISO image for Drive Fitness Test in my signature and burn the image to a CD using IMGBurn and boot off of the newly created CD and run the short and extended tests on the HDD to test the integrity of the drive.

So after a recent windows 10 update, my laptop became barely functional. I tried doing everything to solve the problem but it ended up with a system reset. The problem now is that almost every driver has been deleted, so i wanted to use recovery from my D: drive but it doesn't seem to be functional anymore. I went to the drivers website and i downloaded the drivers from there, but some of them don't seem to be functional, most notably the wireless driver which I thought it was a Realtek chipset, but it never worked. Can someone help me restore the files in the D: drive to become an "executable" again ? This would make it much simpler for me. If that's not possible I hope i can get linked with the correct drivers for my laptop. Thank you.

As per the ASUS form, when my DVD-rom would not read and cd/DVD, I deleted the drivers in the properties, deleted the drive in Device Manager and attempted to reboot. Now it will not reboot even in SAFE MODE. I tried my Windows 7 install disc to do a repair and it won't let me do that either. It says it's not the right version of Windows 7.
ASUS customer support says that they are not standard drivers, but part of the firmware of Windows.
If at all possible, I really can't do a fresh install. That would kill my business for a while.
I do have the ability to access the drives out of the laptop via a Thermaltake BlacK Box.
Any help of suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

A:Asus DVD-Rom Drivers Deleted, Now Won't Boot

Did that laptop come with Windows 7 pre installed? If yes there should be a procedure to do a factory restore. Did you make a set or recovery disks? Just keep in mind that a factory restore will almost certainly erase all your personal files in the process. You may want to plug that drive in your Thermaltake Black Box and retrieve any files you don't want to lose. What happens when you try to boot up?

Hi, I managed to run the setup on my notebook without any error.I just unzipped the entire archive in a folder and I did run setup.exe from install_cd folder. I don't run the setup.exe directly from the archive. I first extract the archive somewhere.Alternatively you can extract the wireless only driver archive to a folder. Then go to the device manager (just write in start device manager). Here you should see the network card with a yellow question mark or something similar. Right click on it and select update drivers ----> Browse my computer for driver software---> Select the folder where you extracted the archive and then click next. If the drivers will match and you did it correctly it should install your wireless driver.

I've got Dell XPS L502X that somehow deleted its network card and USBs drivers, went over to Dell and put all the specs into their littler product service helper and it brought up a list of factory-state drivers for the machine. I downloaded these drivers to a DVD (since the USBs and web don't work) and tried executing the driver installation applications, upon doing so whichever application I tried to use it would always fail the installation saying that I needed to install using the network wireless installer, I'm guessing that isn't what I just downloaded so I'm needing some help here.

A:Dell XPS L502X had an aneurysm and self-deleted some drivers

USB 2.0 drivers are generic Windows installed drivers, not anything specific. There are USB 3.0 drivers listed on the Dell site.

I would first install the Intel motherboard chipset drivers. If they are corrupt many devices may not be identified and recognized by Windows. Dell lists the chipset drivers as the HM67 chipset drivers.

Install the motherboard chipset drivers, restart the PC and then proceed with whatever drivers you need. Follow the listed Dell installation instructions.

If you are downloading them from some other PC and burning a CD, copy the drivers from the CD to the PC first and then run the driver installation(s).

Through doing this, he deleted the drivers that are needed to extract images from my digital camera ( which is compatible with xp ), and also the drivers that are needed to configure my wireless connection ( Wlan.. etc).

I now have the windows xp installation disk but do not know how to just specifically install the drivers and components that I need, as I do not particularly want to install Windows from scratch.

can anybody Help me please?

Hi, I have a V5 571 and I accidentally deleted the Qualcomm atheros drivers. I am using Wifi only so I can no longer connect to the internet. Where can I get the drivers from to re-instate it back to normal?

Go to Solution.

A:I accidentally deleted my qualcomm atheros drivers

The other day I was using System Mechanic for computer clean up and I saw an area for checking and updating drivers.  I was told my NVIDIA drivers needed updated so I performed it.  My computer did not run right after doing this as firefox was not able to run (trying to run it would cause a black screen and reboot).  IE also had problems with high graphic websites.  I assumed it was the driver and maybe it was the wrong version.  Going to the NVIDIA website, I used their driver check and they said I was up to date.  I decided to really screw things up then and unistall the drivers and then I would reinstall them.  Now I have learned that the drivers helped connect to the internet so after uninstalling the drivers, I am not able to connect to the internet to re-install them.  To make matters worse, my D drive has not worked in a couple of weeks and I believe it is shot.
Currently, I am not able to connect to the internet or do much on the computer.  It seems the computer will reboot every 5 minutes or so once logged on.  As you can imagine, anything with graphics (Itunes) is not able to run either.
I figure I could probably download the NVIDIA drivers onto a thumb drive and then reinstall them on my computer.  I have not tried that yet and come to you for help and guidance.  Thank you.

A:Deleted Nvidia drivers - Royal Screw up!

Softwares like system mechanic , Advanced system care etc is generally not recommended and known to screw systems. I recommend uninstalling it.
I guess you installed drivers without uninstalling the old one. Please open "add remove programs" from control panel and remove all Nvidia components from there. Restart the system and you will have "VGA controller" with no drivers installed in the device manager. Now download latest drivers from Nvidia site and install it.

If the above steps didn't solve the issue then perform a system restore to an earlier date in which system working fine. Read this guide before performing system restore.

If the issue still remain, please let us know.

Hey, tearing my hair out here, and I was hoping you guys could help - I'd really appreciate it!
I was playing WoW and my game started to freeze constantly; so I decided to uninstall and reinstall my drivers.
So I uninstalled my old driver from the Device Manager and tried re-installing via the Catalyst installer, but it gave me an error. I restarted my PC and now my monitor won't power on, it is receiving no power at all. I tried connecting my PC to a separate monitor and I had the same problem, they just seem to go into Power-saving mode, or standby as soon as the PC is connected. I took somebodies suggestion to remove my GPU, I opened up my PC and I can for the life of me not find it, so I assume I'm integrated graphics, every post ive seen has suggested going into the BIOS, but I can't even get to the BIOS..  Any suggestions on how to fix? I would seriously appreciate any help I can get!
I am a computer newbie, but willing to try any method suggested.
I'm running Windows 8 64 bit, and my motherboard is a MSI A55M-P33
Thank you very much for reading!

A:Deleted Chipset drivers, no monitor signal

so you are sure the computer is running and have confirmed it is not the monitor, next step would be to see if the onboard video has crapped out. You will need to install a "borrowed (or buy a cheap card for testing) video card to see if the produces a display

I recently have been experiencing BSOD with BUGCODE USB error. Machine freezes on startup, then sometimes automatically reboots. Sometimes freezes on startup at different points and has to be unplgged for about an hour before it restarts properly. I read on several threads to uninstall the USB drivers and on startup, the drivers will reinstall automatically. The only problem is the keyboard and mouse are USB and on startup, none of the USB ports work so I can't enter the password to start windows properly so that it can load the drivers. Hindsight is 20/20 but I now realize that was pretty stupid as I have no other ports to plug the keyboard and mouse to.

A:Deleted bad USB drivers, now on startup, USB keyboard and mouse inop

Ok. I let it sit for about an hour and it fired up. Keyboard and mouse work OK after startup. Still will not shut down properly and locks on the shutdown screen. Will not reboot unless you leave it for about an hour. I am currently using the machine as I type this and it seems to work OK. It just locks up during shutdown and locks up sometimes during startup. I'm guessing a bad USB driver but not sure.

I had a major virus on my pc and it resulted in me screwing around with the registry to eliminate the virus.

I had a virus which re-directed my google browser AND a virus called "Anti-Virus SOFT" which took me a week to remove.

In doing so, I played around with the regedit AND played with the ASUS BIOS utility.

Now, I'm screwed.

The following drivers seem to be missing: RAID Controller, Sony CD drive, ASUS DVD RW DW and I need to recover them.
Now I ran the ASUS BIOS utility and I think I deleted the BIOS(if that is possible????) so now the pc starts with a screen which reads ASUS K8V motherboard......and then it goes to a SAFE MODE screen and I ESC out and then the pc boots......

Any suggestion?
How can I recover the missing drives?
How can I restore the corrupted BIOS?

OR......where should I shop for a new pc?????

A:ASUS K8V BIOS Deleted AND Device Drivers missing

If you deleted your BIOS then the computer would not do anything, if you dont understand the importance of your computers "Binary Input Output System" then don't mess with it.

You should:

Reset your bios, to do this, disconnect the computer, disconnect the PSU, remove the BIOS Battery, Short the BIOS Battery terminal.

After a few mins and hook it all back up, boot the PC and hit Del to enter setup, reconfigure your bios setings (boot order etc).

Before you do the next step hook your HDD up to another PC, MAKE SURE THE ANTIVIRUS IS UP TO DATE, copy off all your files.
Do you have the driver disks? if not download the drivers

Reinstall Your OS, insert the disk and boot from CD, folow the instructions, format your drive and you will be virus free.

once this is done install your drivers and off you go...

let us know how you go...

Hi everyone! My laptop, Lenovo T420, got infected by a nasty virus. Though I've deleted the virus, but it already deleted several drivers for my computer: ethernet controller, biometric coprocessor, and video controller (which I checked through 'Device Manager' saying: "No drivers are installed for this device") I've installed back the driver for my ethernet controller and wireless network drivers from Lenovo website. But still unable to see any wifi connection even though there are several open.

When I open "Network and Sharing Center" it says that "The dependency service or group failed to start." When I check "System Information" (through msinfo32) and click "Problem Devices" it says that there is an error in: "TCP/IP Registry Compatibility" and "WAN Miniport (L2TP)".

When I open "Network Connections", my "Broadband Connection" is Disconnected and has "Error 1060: The specified service does not exist as an installed service."

Furthermore, I also cannot turn on windows firewall. The screen resolution is also changed and I'm unable to revert it back to the original although I've tried tinkering with the "Adjust screen resolution". What shall I do to fix my internet, firewall, and screen resolution? Any help is much appreciated.

A:Unable to connect to internet, virus deleted my drivers

Hi and Welcome to the Forum bori02082005 You can download the Wan driver from the Lenovo site Where you using Windows Firewall before you had detected the Virus ? Having an Lenvo you should have the One Key Recovery Option.

This is a link to my original post:
I used combo fix to remove the Windows Defender virus. I'm not sure if the virus is still there or if ComboFix deleted drivers or what,
but ever since I cannot get sound, or internet, and all of the things that used to show up in the task bar (near the date and time at the bottom right) are not there anymore.
Also ever since then my task bar looks grey like it would on a Windows 98, unlike the way it should look, Windows 7.

But I accidently uninstalled my nvidia chipset drivers also, now I cannot even boot in safe mode. I am on a P5N-E SLI 650i mobo. Even booting my vista CD does not work. It just freezes with my mouse cursor. I am on my other computer, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Apparently, as I was trying to create more space on my hard drive, I accidentally deleted or "corrupted" the device drivers for my Hitachi LG DVD-ROM drive as well as my Samsung CDRW/DVD drive. I've tried downloading firmware for both, but consistently see this in the Device Manager: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing." I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both devices, also tried a System Restore. So far nothing has worked. Please help as I am pulling out every strand of my hair.

A:Solved: I'm an idiot that accidentally deleted my CD/DVD ROM Drive drivers

Go to device Mgr. & uninstall your drives, re boot and windows will recognise the drives
