my 'hp pavilion tx 2000' tablet's keyboard and all base buttons are not working

Q: my 'hp pavilion tx 2000' tablet's keyboard and all base buttons are not working

hi, i was recently cleaning my tablet's keyboard and screen with a dry cleaning cloth. but after i turned my tablet back on, none of the buttons located on the base were responding. my speaker volume shortcut buttons and keyboard wont respond.

my mouse and left, right click buttons work fine though, and i notice the lights on my caps, num lock flick on on boot up. my volume buttons also have their lights on.

i heard a loud beep noise on my tablet during my cleaning too.

did i accidentally disable the bottom half of my tablet?

my screen buttons and external mouse work fine too.

im typing all this using my on-screen keyboard.

please, can someone help me.

thanks

HiI bought this for my daughter this Christmas and after registering using the keyboard it suddenly stopped working and I could only use the touch screen keyboard. Then for no reason at all the pc display went in to tablet mode and won't come out of it.I have tried a total reset and everything I described above happens again. I have downloaded all the drivers etc again and rebooted and the outcome is still the same. Have wondered if throwing it against a wall would help, but realised that would only help me and not the laptop.Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you resolve it?Thanks

A:Pavilion x360 keyboard not working and stuck in tablet mode

Hi @kippa22?, Welcome to the HP Forums!  It is a terrific place to find answers and tips! For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide:Learn How to Post and More. I understand that you purchased the Pavilion x360 as a Christmas present for your daughter.  After setting it up, and registering on the HP website the keyboard stopped responding. You could only use the on screen keyboard.  Suddenly the display went into tablet mode and  you could not change the mode back.  You have tried a total reset and installed any driver updates, but the issue remains. Have you ran the HP Support Assistant?  Have you ran the Windows troubleshooter? Would you check this setting. Click the Windows button (lower left corner)Clcik on  settingsClick on  system to  open it.In the left pane of the screen, scroll down to the bottom until you see "Tablet Mode"Verify that  it is set to off. Please let me know the outcome. Best of Luck and Happy Holidays!

I have upgraded my X201 Tablet to Windows 10 32bit. As far as I can tell, everything is working, including the WACOM drivers and touchscreen.  Wireless has worked perfectly so far, not sure about Bluetooth as I don't use it. My only issue is that the buttons on the display do not work. The power button located on the display does work. I tried installing the Tablet Button Driver II and it will go through the install but the buttons do not work.  This is the download link:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds027627 The document claims Windows 10 compatability and was Last Updated :08 Jun 2015. On inspection, all the files extracted are dated from 2012 and when trying to manually run the software Windows throws up an error that the software is not supported on this PC.   I removed and reinstalled and noted that the driver information page when running the installer does NOT have Windows 10 listed as a supported system. My assumption is that the driver that they have linked on the download page is NOT the most current driver and is infact the driver for Windows 7 from 2012. Does anyone know how to contact Lenovo to get the correct driver posted to the page, or know of an alternate source to try and find it?

I have installed win7 64 bit ("fresh install" on my M750-129) and i have also downloaded and installed all the newest drivers from toshiba website.
the device manager shows no problem / drivers needed, and trhings like HDD protection work well.

However, i have four groups of problems i would love and appreciate to find answer:

1) when i change the screen position to tablet, it does not change the orientation nor the resolution.
There is no utility to set the desired orientations of screen as it was in vista (horribly unstable and slow OS, though).
This, naturally, is diminishing the usefullness of the tablet finction

2) the buttons do not work properly; the screen rotation button starts excel (!!) , the centre of mobility button starts word (!!), and the toshiba assistance button does not work at all

3) fingerprints: the fingerprint utility lets me to screen my fingerprint, asks if it should save it, and than says "saving impossible; another duplicate pattern exists" which i completely do not understand what it means...

4) some applications are not available at all after fresh install: face recognition, DVD player, bussines card screener - but i can love without those; 1-3 worries me much much more and i would appreciate any functional help. thanx on advance for any try!

A:Portege M750 tablet, buttons and fingerprint functions not working in win7

Hi

I think you would need an extension package in order to use the tablet functions on the Portege series.
I didn?t find the Tablet PC Extension Package for Win 7 but there is an package for Win Vista.

Usually many tools and drivers which were released for Vista would work with Win 7.
So in my opinion you should try to install additionally this Tablet PC Extension Package.
I think this should solve the issue with the buttons too!

Regarding the fingerprint;
I think the message means that an fingerprint was already registered and therefore an second save is not possible.
Check if you can delete other fingerprints?

Good afternoon, I have a mini desktop Pavillion 300-240 and im considering buying the Monitor portátil USB HP EliteDisplay S140u (G8R65AA) to use as a portable monitor. I have 3 questions: 1) eventhough its considered an empresarial product there isnt any problem in using it residencialy right? 2) i see the connection of the monitor is only by USB, but i have the DP port in the mini desktop free. Is there an HP cable to connect this monitor USB through the DP port without wasting any of the usb ports? 3) my preference would be for a portable monitor for the mini desktop that when disconnected worked as a tablet. Is there such a product in HPs portfolio? ThanksHugo Silva

After being infected with a trojan yesterday, I have my laptop back up and running, however, the top 4 buttons, Thinkpad, Volume down, Volume up, and mute are not working. I believe that this is because I am not loading a driver for them during startup (I had to disable a few to get rid of the virus), however, I can not figure out which one might be causing the problem. attached are the screenshots of all the startup programs and my current settings for them.

A:Top buttons on keyboard not working

Hi

The driver will be an audio driver, if it is that. You can go into Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices to try accessing the same services from there and let us now if that works. Because if it does, your sound driver is perfectly loaded an the problem may likely be elsewhere.

I just replaced my old system with a new one, and used the sound system I had with the old one.

AMD 3500
1 gig Ram
Windows XP Media Center Edition
Boston Acoustics Surround Sound System
On board audio used- no sound card

I had a few problems getting sound to work, realized that had to use the digital out to get the system I have to work. After using an adapter from the digital out it worked fine. I proceeded to dump the Norton that was installed and download Mcaffee from AOL. I also downloaded Spybot and Adaware and ran scans,, deleted a few nasties that came up and ran scan with Mcaffee. Everything fine with the exception that the volume buttons on the keyboard no longer work. Ive been into all the Keyboard setup and volume controls and have yet to find anything to make the keyboard controls work again. It shows on the screen when u push the button but doesn't control vol. I can adjust externally or on the application. I have downloaded the latest drivers from HP but that didn't help either. All other controls work. Any ideas anyone?

I tried resetting the laptop but no dice. Does anyone know what might be causing this problem, and is it fixable without having to bring it in/replace the keyboard? I tried looking on the internet and some sites vaguely said something about loose wires, but I'm not sure.

Please help me out!

Assuming that you didn't pry the keys themselves loose, yes it could be loose wires. Open up the thing and see.

Just reinstalled windows 7 this weekend together with new hardware. But i have encountered some problems, both with sound and keyboard. On my keyboard which is a Logitech Ultra X (Ultra X) i have some buttons at the top, like Media, play/pause, www, email and mute. These have been working earlier on both windows xp and vista, but now they are not working.. Very frustrating as i use them very often.

Do any of you guys in here have any idea about how this may be fixed?

you wil need to reinstall the software for the keyboard easy access buttons.
You can probably find it on compaqs website by looking for downloads under his model/serial number.

Got an inspiron 13 7000 yesterday and trying to use for first time.  When switching to tablet mode, the virtural/on-screen keyboard cannot be selected for use.  It is available in laptop mode (when I don't need it because of the large keyboard in front of me), but not table.

So, I called tech support and was told it was outside of regular tech and they'd transfer me to software tech.  They said there is normally a fee for this support, but since the computer is brand new, there would be not charge.  Software tech refused to help me unless I paid and they transferred me back to hardware tech who put me on hold, then hung up on me.

Wow, nice support on a brand new product!  They want me to pay to get their defective product to work?  I guess it would be cheaper for them to pay for a return shipping label, give me a full refund and sell this as a refurb at half of what they sold it to me for then for them to actually spend a few minutes on the phone trying to help.

Before I return this and buy another brand, does anyone know how to get the on-screen keyboard to work on tablet mode?

Just setting up a new computer. Have a logitech receiver and wireless mouse + keyboard ... batteries in both are good (I checked with voltmeter).

So everything is fine and I'm setting up windows. I go to local security policy to disable the administrator account and then go to rename it, and find out my keys aren't working!! But for some odd reason, the shortcut buttons to calculator and internet explorer work just fine... just none of the keys (numbers or letters) work. cntrl alt del doesn't work.

So I try a keyboard that is from a working computer, and that won't work either. I'm really stumped. The USB ports should be fine as the MOUSE works fine (the wireless mouse and also other mouses work fine). The motherboard is brand new.
The working keyboard I tested doesn't seem to be even getting power on this new computer. Not sure why. I can't even get into the BIOS cause the keyboard doesn't work!

HI,
I have just upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. everything seems to be fine till now apart from the touchpad.
The problem is that every time I press a button on the keyboard the touchpad stops working for about 4 seconds.
another things is that most buttons do that, but for example the ctrl, function, alt and windows keys don't cause this problem.

Any Idea what can cause this? and do you know any solutions please??
I tried updating the drivers for both keyboard and touchpad, but that didn't solve the problem.
It's very frustrating and I'm considering to goback to windows 7!

Many Thanks :)

i have done the following:uninstalled the keyboard in device manager; restarted the notebook twiceattached a USB keyboard, which gets rid of the keyboard issue the built in keyboard would select/highlight words/sentences randomly while in the middle of typing a document - causing the next few words to either get inserted or overwrite. it would also randomly insert words i'm typing into the middle of a document. the insert function is not enabled. it affects typing in any application, and not just MS Office 2013. the same problem presents itself in Notepad, and in our Electronic Medical Health program (eCW). we are out of warrantly so, replacing the keyboard is probably a paid option, but since we work in sites where space is an issue, lugging an extra keyboard is not optimal.

Hi, Try the following. Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter. Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to see if this will launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys ( assuming they work in this menu ) to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Note:  If you find the keys don't work in the Bios menu, then this is likely to be a Hardware issue. Regards, DP-K

What system update, windows update, a driver update? This is pretty vague.Could the update be coincidence and the keys are broken? If you boot to safe mode with command prompt try them then.Maybe the keys themselves are damages in which case you need a new or new old stock keyboard. That's what I would do, test the keys in a command prompt window and if they don't work there get a new keyboard.Do you have access to a usb keyboard to see if it's the keys or some weird OS thing?

Hi @ritz11 Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I saw your post regarding the keyboard becoming unresponsive at time and there are a few things that we can look at. Start by doing a Hard Reset as I have seen this resolve other odd keyboard issues. If that doesn't work look at uninstalling the keyboard driver. Go to your Device Manager and expand Keyboards and then right click the keyboard there and select Uninstall. Then restart the notebook and Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.

hi everyone,

first off i just want to say that i am terrible with computers - and unfortunately have a huge problem, my keyboard doesn't work.

as far as i can tell, i am usng an hp pavilion entertainment laptop running on vista. my keyboard says that it's a 'hid keyboard device.'

when i go to my control panel and click on keyboard it says that it is working properly, but in reality it isn't working at all

what happened was this...
i was working on microsoft word last night typing out a document very fast when all of a sudden asi typed out a word correctly -it would appear on the document with three consecutive letters. for exampl if i typed the word 'after' it woul come out on the screen as 'aaafter'

i ignored the problm and kpt on working. however, as i was working i noticed that the light on my 'caps lock' key was on. it didn't matter how many times i presed it, the caps lock key remained on.

i continued working on ms word all night without any other roblems. i went to bed really late and didn't bother turnig my computer off, instead i just closed the screen.

this morning when i tried to log on my mouse on the laptop didn't work so i just plugged in a physical mouse into the computer. next when i tried to type in my log-in password the keyboard would not work at all. i also noticed that the caps lock light is still on.

i clicked on the little blue option box in the left-hand... Read more

Other than cleaning
You may need to physically remove the keyboard (usually via removing screws underneath laptop)
And disconnect it then reconnect it

You could also test with a USB keyboard, to confirm it's the laptop keyboard only

If anyone has acces to the connections/schematics for the M4600 touchpad/button assembly, I'd love to see them! For some reason both the right buttons have stopped working. Tried to disconnect/reconnect  the 14 pin "touchpad cable from the mainboard, but unfortunately this did not do the trick. Need to look a bit deeper - so would love to see the schematics or at least the pinout of the connector(s)... (It's a button - how hard can it be to fix... ;-)
Thanks and best regards,

Hi

I'm having difficulties installing the tablet buttons in WINDOWS 8.1 Pro. Everything else works, perfectly.

In Windows 8 Pro this buttons worked nicely, but now, after a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro two of the buttons don't work. The buttons are the Toshiba assist button and the presebtation button. I've tried to configure them in Toshiba assist software but nothing happens.

I'm sure I've installed all drivers that made wverything work with Windows 8. As anyone tryed this and add success?

A:Portege M750 and Win8.1 Pro -tablet buttons don't work

> I'm sure I've installed all drivers that made wverything work with Windows 8

Windows 8.1 is not Windows 8 and many of Toshiba Win 8 drivers and tools don?t work or are not fully compatible with Win 8.1

As far as I know the Toshiba does not support Win 8.1 on this Portege M750.
This means that no Win 8.1 drivers will be released and in such case some notebook features like the control buttons could not work properly.

Fact is that using Windows Vista or Win 7, such buttons were controlled by Value Added Package. This package does not exist for Win 8.1 and has been replaced by other software called Toshiba System Driver

So in case you want to try to get the buttons to work, I recommend checking this with Toshiba System Driver

I have a Gateway CX2618, w/ windows XP tablet edition 2005 version 2002, sp2. And wanted to wipe it clean and reinstall just the things I use. Plus my Tablet side of things hasn't worked in a long time and I was hoping the clean install would fix that.

Hello everyone, hope we're all well! I'm hoping someone can help me! I recently got a HP Pavilion 15-aw065sa and I love it. I decided to upgrade the SSD, and sadly in doing so, have slightly cracked the underside plastic (about an inch along from the middle of the rear towards the centre of the case). It's not a biggie, but I'd really know if there is anywhere (be it HP or someone else) where I can PAY MONEY (to a limit, lets not go silly, it's just a piece of plastic) to get a replacement. I'm also looking at getting an optical HDD caddy, so a DVD drive front replacement would be useful too! If anyone can help please let me know, it's a great laptop! EDIT: Should mention I checked the part surfer, as well as ebay, and sadly can't find anything

Followed advice here to remove base enclosure for subject laptop. All screws removed as described, tabs released and base separated from plastic surrounding keyboard . However, the base enclosue will not separate further. The keyboard surround seems more willing to let go. Seems like there is something adhering strongly to the base enclosure. Pushing the corners of base gets lots of bending plastic but no joy. Reassembled the unit while I look for guidance. Useful advice? My goal here is to swap out the HDD for an SSD.

I sure wish someone would figure out how to hack the registry, .dll or whatever it is that might make use of the HP 'QuickPlay' button so that it works 'when users actually want it to'.

Then even greater is if someone also figured out how to get the 'QuickPlay' button to open Windows Media Center.

I've read that there are utilities and/or programs available that sort of reverse engineer hardware button pathways (so users can make a key or button do what we want).

Of course this would require figuring out how to readily disable and re-enable the 'shoot yourself in the foot' design style of the QuickPlay 'button', eg; it's the only 'button' that envokes the exceedingly slow and irreversible process whenever users merely wish to wipe off dust or fingerprints.

The only other wish item, would be that the two non-functional Pavilion Fn shortcut keys would once more function, ie; Fn+F1 (system information) and Fn+F2 (help & support).

Note as things stand right now, ie; after wiping partitions and the dv4-1030ee Pavilion, installing Windows 7 Pro (Win7 Pro OEM Systems Builder) and some HP's drivers and/or softpaq's, I really can't complain about MS's Win7 and/or the Pavilion.

A:Vista to Win7 - HP Pavilion's useless Buttons-Fn Keys

The function button drivers for laptops are always a bit hit and miss for a "new" OS, For example, on my own Acer Aspireone netbook everything works except the volume buttons .

Hopefully in the fullness of time HP will release win7 optimized drivers for your system, until then my only suggestion is to try installing the latest drivers you can get, in vista compatibility mode if needed

I recently updated my AMD display driver (Radeon 7640G I think) and now my brightness buttons, keyed to F2 and F3 are not working. The rest of my buttons are working fine so it is not the keyboard. I also cannot change it when I press the battery button on my taskbar (both brightness and battery saver are unavailable). This is a major issue because now my screen it at the lowest brightness possible and I have to work with my lights off (and even then it's still difficult to see). I tried updating my drivers but there was nothing available to update. I've been trying to update drivers for my HP printer though both updates receive an error message:   (1)  Hewlett-Packard - Enterprise WSD Multi-Function Printer, Multi-Function Printer, Other hardware - Null Print - HP ENVY 7640 series - Error 0x8024200b (2) HP driver update for Fax - HP ENVY 7640 series - Error 0x80240017 Microsoft Support tried to help with the error message (and reportedly tried to fix Windows Update) but after they "helped" me this brightness issue starting occurring. If it means anything, when my computer boots up, a new screen appears that says something about Watch Dogs. That used to never appear until MS. I'm not sure if that is the issue though.  Thanks!

Hi

I am in the process of putting together a large spreadsheet.

I have taken command buttons from the toolbox, and used them to hyperlink to various files, graphics and to email contacts.

The buttons work fine, so long as I choose to disable macro's when opening the spreadsheet. I don't have any macro's in the workbook, so don't understand the reason behind this.

I now need to add macro's to the workbook, but will lose my hyperlinks if I do. Help!

Also, the links stop working if I leave design mode.

A:command buttons in excel 2000

Command buttons are visual basic (code/macro) objects. If you delete the code, the command buttons disappear. Instead of using command buttons, just use rectangles or circles from the drawing toolbar, or any other type of graphic/bullet image. Command buttons are code/macro command buttons...if that makes sense.

However, the "!" is now working but the "." has begun skipping along with the right hand "shift" key. It seems that when I press it several times in a row it begins to work partially. I tap with the same pressure. I keep my keyboard pretty clean and have worked very hard to blow any debris out from the keys. I really don't want to buy a new keyboard! Could this problem be from a virus or malware? If not is it possible to remove the key and clean under it? Thanks for listening.

Am running windows 7 on toshiba satellite pro laptop and was wondering if its a software or perhaps hardware issue.

Here is what is happening:

- Caps lock light doesnt stay on anymore but it flashes when i press it. It does still work properly though
- Left SHIFT key still works but when i press it.....it also creates this symbol ~ at the same time within UK keyboard. If i change to US keyboard then it enters the PIPE symbol.
- The ~ key above the tab key actually does this ?
- And the pipe key which is above the Enter key types this: #7

Does anyone have any idea on how i can sort this as its quite frustrating! Thanks for any ideas.

cheers

Hey whats up guys?

Hey when I have Windows Explorer opened up, and I press lets say the ' H ' Key , you would expect it to jump down and highlight a folder with that starts with the letter H right? Mine Jumps to the top right corner & searches my computer for files that start with H, or whatever else I choose to add into there afterward

How can I make it go back to the way it used to be & have it highlight folders.
Thanks in advance!

A:When I press buttons on my keyboard..

Hello Spinsta Welcome to the Seven Forums!

It mainly depends on where you have WE opened to when going to press the H key. If you simply click on your main drive here and press H the highlight immediately goes to HomeGroup. If you click on let's say the first folder on C with an A it may go direct to the hiberfil.sys file at the root which begins with H.

If you clicked in the search box and press H Windows assumes that is the first letter of the item you are running a search on there. If you happen to have Programs Files or Program Files(x86) open and click on anything in one of those directories it will go to the first H item found. WE is acting normally searching for the nearest H item being the explorer tool.

Hi borgqueenx,

It might be possible to physically swap the keys around, although you will need to be careful if you do that. Alternatively, you might be able to overlay stick-on letters to the keys (Letraset) to show the desired letter(s). Another alternative is that you leave the keyboard as it is and just get used to the layout. It is perfectly possible to have Windows 7 in one language, and to have the keyboard set in another.

Hello everyone.

I'm having an issue with a brand new keyboard on my PC. I recently bought Gembird KB-UMGL-01 keyboard and I'm having an issue when holding down a button. For example, whenever I'm playing World of Warcraft if I hold down W to walk forward it acts as if I'm pressing the button repeatedly. It's not specific to just some buttons, I've tried rebinding move forward to random keys and holding them down, same thing happens. I have also tried connecting the keyboard to multiple different USB ports on my PC, and the problem still presists. However, when I tried it on my laptop (also running Windows 10 pro) there was no issue at all.

I have checked manufacturer website, there is no drivers for this specific keyboard. I also tried googling about it, but the only things I managed to find are about specific keys (CTRL, Win, Shift etc.) acting as if they are stuck and the manual also doesn't say anything about this.

I hope that someone here can help me solve this. Thanks in advance.

Shopping button goes to amazon, entertainment goes to yahoo entertainment, Offers goes to ESP.com, Email goes to http://www.mail.yahoo.com, search goes to http://www.overture.com/d/home/p/hp/?Partner=hp, information button goes to http://hp.netscape.com/hp.adp.

Please Help!

Hey, dear Sevenforums..

I've been using a keyboard, that i bought in Albania, really cheap price, low profile keyboard named ACME.

My PC Have been screwed up by it somehow.. i think, as now i cant press serval buttons on my Keyboard.

I can't Press ENTER Anymore on my laptop keyboard, neither ''L'' and serval more buttons, which make it pointless to use my laptop now..

I'm currently going back to norway, and i am leaving the low profile KB here, and i'd love to make the keyboard work 100% Again?

I'm not sure why, but it does not let me press enter, or L, it ignores it, like it dosent even effect anything..

I've got a

HP Pavilion dv6 Laptop, windows 7, x64.

-- The problem came up after i took out the keyboard, and my pc was shutten off.. now i cant use the laptop keyboard 100%, only 70% as most of the buttons dont even work..

so i wrote this by using the lame acme keyboard.. with wire.

Please help, advices and help would be perfect.

My keyboard froze, and I re-installed XP-Home from the disks that came with the Laptop (Acer Aspire 3100+, AMD Sempron, 512 MB RAM). That didn't solve the problem. The PC works in Safe Mode though. At first I thought it was a hardware problem, but then sometimes the application would take one letter every few seconds. Task manager shows that the CPU is running between 55 and 70%. So it looks like some process is in a loop and it's hogging up resources, leaving the keyboard no time to enter its input. The problems seems generalized to any of the buttons around the laptop: power on/off, wireless switch, quick launch keys. From time time, one boot-up is successful, and everything works very well, until the next boot-up. I've noticed that when the boot-up is OK, the icon on the lower right are visible, or there is the arrow < to expand the application bar. When this happens, Task Manager shows under the Performance tab that CPU is running at 2% and the keyboard is working perfectly. The processes tab shows Image Name "System" to use 0%, "taskmgr.exe" a 0-2%, and "System Idle Process" 98%. Instead when boot-up is not OK and the keyboard is frozen (19 times out of 20), only a couple of icon are visible in that toolbar, and the arrow < does not appear. It looks as if boot-up did not complete. Task Manager shows under the Performance tab that CPU is running at 55-70%. The processes tab shows Image Name "System" to use 60%, "... Read more

Have you checked Event Viewer for possible clues? What is the Event Viewer, and Should I Care - Ask Leo! - http://ask-leo.com/what_is_the_event_viewe...uld_i_care.html I would check all 3 subdivisions for obvious errors that need attention, trying to correlate with the time with the problems.And...have you tried another keyboard? I've not really had a defective one, but it sounds to me as if one could cause the types of situations you describe.Louis

I just got a keyboard with power, wake and sleep buttons. Is there a way to disable these buttons in Windows? Otherwise I'll but a drop of super glue on them to keep them from being pushed accidently.
Thanks,
Len

A:Keyboard Power Buttons

Usually a 3rd party keyboard or mouse will come with there own software & when installed will give you the ability to choose different functions for the buttons. If no disk is available look on the manufactures website for the drivers.

There are several buttons at the top of my keyboard that look as though they can be programmed. There is a camera, a music note, a question mark, a search engine and various other things. Does anyone know how I can program addresses to these buttons?

There's about 10,000 different keyboards in the world, and nearly as many computers

I think you are best to tell us a bit more about your hardware (actually a lot more)
You can start by doing the below
Please put your System Specs information in your Profile

If you have a proprietory computer like Dell; HP; Acer etc, please manually write this in the mobo field (ie Dell Dimension 3100 - as an example)

Please click on Yes in your Profile To this question:

Would you like to show other members your computer specs? Default is (NO) This will be displayed in your posts via a drop down menu for other members to view. Add your system specs in your usercp Edit options.Click to expand...

Also you will need to supply your Keyboard info:
Wireless
Non Wireless
Manufacture
Model
Exactly which buttons
So forth so forth....
Generally it's just a matter of downloading your Keyboard program
If it's a manufacture computer (like Dell etc) then you might find that program here: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic117607.html

Good luck :grinthumb

A:my internet keyboard buttons

Just program the normal ones you would normally use for the external application. There is already an application running that maps those extra keys to a certain function.

My keyboard will at seemingly random intervals start pushing my W, A, S, D, Q, & G buttons on its own, as well as clicking my mouse sporadically on its own (Only the buttons which are often pressed while playing first person shooter games). At first this would happen only when playing Counter Strike: Global Offensive via Steam (And it happened often during this time), however it's now happening when I'm surfing the internet, playing other games, and even when I'm just sitting at my desktop. It can be quite frustrating when trying to modify Microsoft Word documents..I've downloaded multiple different anti-malware and 'anti-keylogging' programs since I noticed it happening (after checking their credibility of course), looked at a couple different anti-virus programs (Though ultimately stayed with AVG), and have done long hours worth of scanning and cleaning, only to find myself in the same spot I started. At first I just assumed it was a regular old key-logger of some sort I got from a bad download or something because it would press the buttons in exactly the same manner in which I press them in-game; but I'm not really sure anymore because through all of this time trying to get rid of it, it still only spams my W, A, S, D, Q & G keys as well as my mouse, rather than recording any of my conversations or other key-strokes on the various websites that I visit. Someone also suggested that there was the possibility that someone else was getting to my computer via my net...
