Audio cd's stop playing after a minute + also having trouble ripping audio cd's to my computer.

I need some help and not sure what to do next? Seems this problem is common but I can't seem to get it down. I'm far from a expert so please help me...

My dad has a Compaq presario SR5550f w/ Vista 32bit w/ service pack 2 up to date.
When he try's to play audio cd's he get's this message.

Windows Media Player cannot read the CD. The disc might be dirty or damaged. Turn on Error correction, and then try again.

CD player plays only 1 minute and 3 seconds before error-ing out (although still plays DVDs). So, I thought Ok, let me rip his music and he can play off his comp. But when I try to rip audio it's goes about 20% and gives me a read error.

So, I turned on Error correction and nothing.

Seen in a few forums that I should update the drivers.

I uninstalled the burner driver from the device manager and nothing still.

I updated his Nvidia graphics driver just fine but it didn't find any thing for the motherboard?

I also updated his audio driver from the hp website.

So, after all that I thought maybe it's a hard ware issue? So, I changed out this burner for a new one and it still does the same thing?

have tested other cd-rs & retail audio disc. For some reason it's just audio's and ripping?

The other day he watched a whole dvd movie just fine!

I'm gussing it's a driver issue I just don't know which one's to look for?

Any help is appricated.

I ripped some audio cds on a Windows 7 pc. The files were somehow assigned random names and folders arbitrarily created. I renamed all the files (lectures) in sequence. When I transfer them to my Galaxy S2, the files again assume random names and are all jumbled (out of sequence). I did this several times.
Thinking about getting a dedicated mp3 player, but budget is pretty tight.

Background:

I had to reinstall XP a month ago (long off topic story) - it's all good and fine.

I can't remember how to fix the following problem like I did long ago after the last reinstall. Perhaps you can help myself and others whenever this comes up.

I have a program I'm happy with called Audio Grabber (AG). Typically it grabs/rips audio direct from the CD/DVD drive and places the data into .wav files for further processing (sometimes work related in my case). I have other programs that also do this such as CDex. These programs work perfectly fine and I'm keeping them.

Here's the core problem:

Sometimes, like right now, instead of ripping the CD data into .wav files (at a fast speed) these programs merely play the CD audio through my speakers instead (real time speed) and do NOT make any .wav files what so ever. XP can sometimes, somehow, bypass the programs normal functionality and instead just plays the CDs instead of allowing them to perform their normal ripping action to .wav files for me.

As I said before, the fix was a simple XP tweak but not where most people expected it to be - and I've forgotten again because it's been so long since this problem has arrived once again.

The matter is a settings trigger somewhere (something to do with the recognition of the drive itself if memory serves) or something unexpected that fixes this problem even though it may return on occasion for some people (such as myself). It seems to be an ... Read more

A:XP - Audio ripping from CD suddenly changes to playing music only (no direct to .wav file rips possible).

I would simply uninstall then reinstall the offending program...seems to me that it's obviously damaged.

Hello,

anytime I try to play audio with whatever application (Foobar2000, Teamviewer, it doesn't really matter) directly after boot, the whole machine becomes completely unresponsive for about a minute and the hard disk explodes, until the sound finally starts playing.

What the heck, is it so complicated to play a sound, does it really need to load 1 GB of data for that???

A:Playing audio after boot freezes machine for roughly one minute

With only 4GB of RAM and a 64 bit OS, I suspect its more a memory problem. The sound is just a product of the system not responding, and its not actually a "sound" problem.

64 bit OS is really intended for systems with more than 4GB of RAM. A 64 bit OS uses more basic memory than a 32 bit OS and thus less RAM remains for programs.

I just recently bought a dvd burner, was wondering if there's free software to burn or convert/rip music from a live dvd concert to audio form, and be saved to audio cd or mp3 format.i have nero express bundled with my dvd burner.

just wanted also to listen to the live songs on my mp3 player as well.
need some advice, and complete instructions on this.
thanks!

Since you'd have to break the copy protection of that CD, this is not legal under the DMCA of 1998 or the rules of this forum. We can't help you with this request.

Hello. On my Dad's computer, XP professional, quite a low spec 500Mhz AMD CPU thing whenever he plays an audio CD it 'crackles' (his description).

On investigating this it appears the PC plays audio via the IDE bus, and as it's a lowly machine every time the HDD is accessed, the audio get interrupted which causes the 'crackle'.

There is the usual audio L+R cable running from the rear of the CD to the audio input socket on the motherboard but how do you persuade the CDROM drive and/or windows to stop using the IDE bus and just play via the audio?

Weird!

Thanks for any help.

A:Stop audio CD playing via IDE bus...

The problem is the sound card/chip.

The remedy is to not use the onboard sound chip (which is CPU-intensive, of necessity) and install/use a PCI sound card which is not CPU-intensive.

For some time now I have been unable to play BBC News videos in Firefox 26.0 (the only BBC videos I watch with any frequency) but after 15secs the video freezes while the audio continues. Also, after this has happened and I grab the slider it blurs just like a Windows OS freeze.
I just tried it on Internet Explorer and the same video stopped at about 22secs with exactly the same problems. It happens with all BBC News videos.
Here is a screen grab of, in this instance, the video stopped and where I've advanced the slider and it has blurred.

What can I do to cure this problem?
Thanks,

Hello,

Starting about a week ago whenever any audio is being played through my computer (speaker or headphone) I will hear a buzzing sound and occasionally the audio with skip. This happens weather I am playing audio that is being streamed from the internet or that is on my computer directly.

I have tried several things to fix this problem including installing all windows updates that are available as well as updating my audio drivers.

I am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. My computer model is hp pavilion dv7t quad 6100 and I have IDT high definition audio codec driver version 6.10.6381.0 which my computer says is the latest driver version. Updating to this version has not solved the problem, however.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. If there is additional info that is neccesary, please let me know and I will post it.

A:IDT High Def Audio, buzzing sound when playing any sort of audio.

Unplug the speakers from the PC and see if you still get the buzz with headphones. Some "buzz" problems can be related to "AC power ground loop" problems if some separately powered devices are connected.

Noise and skipping are problems that have been posted here before. There is no "one fix" for that. There are possible hardware problems, drivers (including video drivers), Interrupt issues, Wi Fi caused, etc.

Skipping can be because the other device that is on the shared Interrupt that the sound is on is interrupting the sound. Sound is always on a shared interrupt (IRQ) with a higher priority device. You can try this: go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the IDT and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT check the box to uninstall the drivers. Then restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect the sound and reinstall it and some times put it on a different shared IRQ.

I noticed that very occasionally, my computer will hang. Nothing will respond, not even Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and the only way out of it is to force a shut down by holding down the power button.

I also noticed that this has always occurred when audio is playing. The audio will loop infinitely once the computer hangs. Sometimes, when I hold down the power button for a while, the system will unhang. Other times it will not.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit SP1
Sound card: Realtek ALC662
I should also mention that the machine is a laptop!

I can't update to the latest Realtek drivers because that causes the sound to start crackling and fizzing really badly (stupid bug). I also don't have any minidumps as the computer doesn't get a BSOD, it just hangs and I have to force shutdown.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem or what I can do to help you solve this problem?

Hello everyone. I am using a old-ish Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista. So, every time I'm playing songs on YouTube, then open FL Studio 10, FLS 10 won't let me play or record any audio. When I look at the "ASIO4ALL" box it has A little red "X" on audio output(I use "Realtek HD Audio" if that helps). Now when I stop the internet audio/YouTube and restart FLS 10, the little red "X" is gone and all the sound works... I was wondering how to play Internet audio while playing or recording audio on FL Studio 10 is there something I can tweak with the laptop audio or some better sound program I can download free(or not free)and not have to get a new sound card??? Thank you for your time. Peace.

I've been having trouble getting clear audio consistently with my new headset on my laptop which is currently running Windows 7. I have tried reinstalling the driver, restarting my laptop, combinations of restarting and reinstalling driver, replacing the headset (before I realised it was a computer problem), even flashed the BIOS to see if that would help, also tried using different USB ports, nothing has fixed it and if it does it lasts 5 minutes before it starts to crackle and sound quality degrades again. I cannot think of anything else that I can do to fix this. I have looked for a fix on Logitech's website which directed me to Microsoft but none of the solutions posted has fixed the problem. Headset works perfect on boyfriends computer, also running Windows 7, and my boyfriends headset (same as mine) has the same problem when plugged in to my laptop. Any help would be appreciated.

I have an Acer Aspire Laptop 57362-4790 running Win 7 with all the latest updates. Audio is an Intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI, and Realteck HDMI.

Because I had no headphone output with the computer connected to my TV via the HDMI out I ran the Windows audio trouble shooter. I got a messaage "non standard audio detected" and Windows did something. Now my headphone jack works, but I have no audio on the TV from the HDMI connection.

I've checked both the Intel and Realtime audio controlers and gotten the message, "Device working properly."

I've searched both Intel and Realtime for new drivers and gotten the message, "Best driver already installed."

Opening sound, clicking on playback, clicking on configure, selecting speaker and clicking on test gives test tones out of both the left and right speakers on the TV. Going back to the web, still no sound!

Does anyone have any idea what Windows did and more importantly how do I undo it and get sound back on the TV through the HDMI connection?

Thanks for looking at this story, and any help you can give.

Use the System Restore function and restore the PC back to a date PRIOR to whatever you did. That should return it to how it was configured. System Restore can be accessed from Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools. System Restore will not delete any user data or emails.

I am with a problem, still have 200-300 cds to rip and encode into mp3/mpc. Untill Windows 7, I had been using Exact Audio Copy with Lame (--alt preset -standard), but EAC does not work in Windows 7. Windows 7 freezes in a couple of seconds after a rip has been initiated - have tried with the native Windows ASPI layer or with the ASPI driver from Nero - same result.

If EAC is still not supported in Windows 7, what is the best (most secure) option to rip audio cds? I really want my rips to be as good as possible, which EAC provided before. The built-in Sonic ripping engine in Winamp does not work either.

Any other verified option? Thanks for any help.

I use CyperLinks Power2Go to rip an Audio book from CD to play on my MP3 player. I noted that track numbers higher than 9 (10, 11, 12 etc) are misread, trunkating them to additional track 1's. Since this throws off the sequence of play -- which is essential to audio books, I must make the changes to correct the track numbers manually. CyberLink could offer no help. Is there any software that can rip tracks in the correct order to MP3?

Thing is that it does not occure with all cd's.

That's peculiar.

Are all songs on a given CD bad, or only certain songs?

If only certain songs, is it always the same certain songs on a given CD?

Are the bad songs bad even on the second or third rip attempt with a given ripping program?

Are the bad songs bad if you rip to WAV files?

Can you try another free program such as CDex?

What encoder is your ripping application using? Lame is generally recommended and is what CDex uses. If you are using Lame, is it a recent version?

From the TSG Rules page:

Circumventing Copy Protection - While we believe it's reasonable to make backup copies of CDs and DVDs that you own, a lot of people break copy protection for the wrong reasons. The law is still vague, at best, as to if it is legal to break copy protection in order to make such a backup, even for personal use. (The DMCA, for example, seems to make it illegal.) As a result, we do not allow discussion of how to break copy protection at this time. If we can find a nice way to draw the line, we may reconsider this in the future as laws get sorted out.

Once I replace the cd with another to start another rip media player ebecomes non responsive and totally hangs up.
It also locks up any other programs and does not allow me to access the internet through explorer.
The only solution is to shut down and restart which is a pain.
Is this a hardware or software issue and any suggestions on how to fix would be much appreciated.

A:Problem ripping cd audio

What is your computer configuration? Memory in particular... Also, age... and what is the software you are using to perform the burn? Roxio, Record Now, Creator, Instant Burn? or other...'?

Hello,

i'm using k lite codec pack in my vista home premium.

in some dual audio movies, i can select one audio file from task bar.

but in some movies, it plays both audio files and i cant see option to change audio either in media player classic or in task bar.

any direct solution except reencoding movie file?

A:some dual audio movies playing both audio

In Media Player Classic I had this with a couple of files. If you use the Haali renderer you can select the sound track from the notification icon in the task bar.

Please help. My desktop keeps freezing up when I attempt to rip a CD into .wma or .mp3. For a while it would only do it occasionally, but now it's every time. It doesn't matter what program I'm using (Nero or Roxio) it still freezes up. The drive spins and the system freezes, the only command that is accepted is to push the restart button! I know there is a program that will do a system scan to demonstrate what my system is, but I have forgotten/lost it. Someone please help me to help you all to help me!

i am using windows 7 x64 ultimate sp1.

i have a bunch of original audio cds, which i want to rip into individual wav files lossless. i have used daemon tools ultra to 'Grab A Disk' into .ape format. naturally, a cue file is created. but details in the cue file are commonly wrong... not accurate in their start/end times. with the .ape files i have tried 2 subsequent methods to convert them to .wav:-

1. remount the .ape file i just created with daemon tools again, then use WMP to rip them directly to individual wav tracks.
2. convert the .ape to one big .wav file using monkey's audio- decompression, then using EAC to 'split file according to .cue, with gaps'.

the results are the same : always give me many tracks which are 2-3 secs shorter than the described duration on my album sleeve cover. some other tracks have their duration lengthened to the point that it would carry 1-2 secs of the next track. eg. track 6 would play to the end, then with about 2 secs gap and the first 1 second from track 7 would play in the end of the track 6 file. track 7 would then naturally start off with 1 second short.

A:Ripping Audio CDs to .ape, then converting to individual .WAV

I "rip" audio CD's to wav all the time. You are "complicating the ham sandwich" with your procedure.

I use the free "Audiograbber" CD ripping program (it will require downloading the program). It will "rip" (extract) songs from a CD (either all or selected tracks) and save them at wav (full fidelity) files. It saves the songs as individual song files, no sorting or further audio conversion is required. There are other Audio CD ripping programs that will also do this, just what I have used for years. I have a recording studio and do a lot of audio work and many of my musician friends also use this.

One caution, if you download Audiograbber, watch out for the crapware that comes with it when installing. Decline/uncheck all of that and only install Audiograbber.

I was listening to a radio station online yesterday when I started to make a backup copy of a DVD. As soon as I started ripping, the audio became all stuttered, like the comp was having trouble keeping up. And my ripping speed was about 1/2 what it normally is. But I can watch videos or listen to MP3s (that are on the computer, not streaming) while I rip no problem. So why would streaming audio cause so much lag? My CPU usage was about 70%... I don't remember what the stats were for the RAM.

I have a P4 2.8GHz w/ 512MB PC2700 RAM and a DSL connection. Also, I use WMP Classic (the version from Win98) when I watch videos, but the streaming audio has to use WMP 10. Could the visualizations from WMP 10 cause the slowdown? Is there any way to disable them? I looked in the menus... it's really stupid, becuz there's 10 different visualizations to choose from, but no way to turn them off Talk about an unnecessary waste of comp resources

I just started ripping some of my old "Crossing all Over" CD's and because I have all kinds of room on my 2nd internal drive I decided to use Windows Media Audio 9.2 Lossless which records VBR Quality 100, 44 kHz, 2 channel 16 bit 1-pass VBR. Oh wow what a H U G E difference compared to the MP3 stuff I have from other sources. And it really didn't take all that long to rip 18 disks.
I didn't tag because I know all the songs(I used to be a rock/punk rock/metal DJ about 9 years long at 2 different clubs), I just wanted them all as one play list shat shuffles(pinned to WMP it starts with a different song every time I open it).
I really recommend to anyone who just wants to play WMP and leave the music on the PC(mine is connected to my Home Cinema thru HDMI) try WMA Lossless. It actually sounds better than the CDs playing on my Philips CDR 785(not cheap).

A:Ripping with Windows Media Audio 9.2 Lossless

Just out of curiosity, why did you choose WMA over WAV? Isn't WAV more widely supported?

I am trying to listen to some music using my Bluetooth headphone.
Normally this works quite OK (modulo the usual BT lightning strokes that seem to never go completely away, but normally these are typically split seconds and "only" every minute or so.
But today, the music play is terrible! Every 10 seconds or so the music stutters, breaks away or it sounds like a big truck rushing through my room. It's terrible!

The only thing I could identify so far is that some process "Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework Host Process" seems to be permanently consuming 30+% CPU. What the heck is this?
Besides that the "Antimalware Service Executable" seems to steadily consume another 15%.

How can one "dampen" the resource hunger of such processes such that they leave media player and its driver do its business? I would expect these to be "background processes".

This is on a MS Surface Pro 4.

Assuming you are running XP, check the Device Mnager to see if anything hardware wise is out of whack. RIGHT click My Computer and choose Properties, the choose the Hardware Tab. Click on the Device Manager button. The list should show normal if there are all + marks by each device catagory. If something is wrong, you will see a YELLOW mark by it denoting what is not working properly. Post back with what you find there. There are over 1000 things that will make your computer run slow, so this is a start.
Also post back any changes you recently made like loading software or uninstalling software, even updates if any.

Hi

I've been stuggling with this for a few hours now and am at the end of my wits..

I've got two audio devices that I would like to link to my PC at once.
I've got one plug connected to the back panel, and one to the front. But one always cuts off the other. In my sound devices, the system registers them both as: "speakers, VIA High Definition Audio, Standard device"

Is there any way that I can connect them both at once, and still have both of them outputting audio?

I hope the internet will save the day!

Many thanks in advance!

Hello all,
I hope someone can help but let me first start out by saying I'm very computer illiterate and get very nervous about trying to fix the PC. A couple of months ago, my monitor screen would get a greenish-overlay to it, then switch back to its regular appearance. I can still read the screen, it's just a green 'pall', for lack of a better word, on the screen. I thought it was the monitor and replaced the new monitor with an older one. After booting up the computer, the screen was normal until it reached a certain point in the startup and then it got the green overlay. I've unplugged the computer twice and when I've turned it back on, the screen starts normal and then gets the green overlay.
As if that weren't enough, now today my audio has stopped working. It worked fine last night so I don't know what happened. The speaker icon in the tray has disappeared and I tried unplugging, restarting, and then plugging the speakers back in and nothing happened. I removed the Audiotek drivers and restarted, and the computer detected new hardware - 'Multimedia Audio Controller'. I selected 'Find Drivers', and it tried looking online for a couple of minutes but came back and said it could not find any hardware for the device.
I know people will need more information to help, so let me know what information is required and I will attempt to find it (or ask how to find it).
Thanks!

I've actually already seen this problem handled here, and while trying to follow of the solutions realized that I might need some personal help. The computer already had a lot of assorted malware that has been (mostly) dealt with with Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D scans, though this problem presists (also, a "MyPC Backup" PUP that's yet to go away as the files that need to be deleted are always in use apparently). My main concern though is the audio issue. It plays sounds from what I assume are ads, before I even have the chance to launch Firefox (I thought it could've just been an ad or hidden pop up window at first). The only thing I've been able to connect it to is the "Name Not Available" option in the audio mixer, which muting causes it to stop, though I'd rather eliminate the problem completely than just muting it and pretending that it's not there. DDS Log:  DDS (Ver_2012-11-20.01) - NTFS_AMD64Internet Explorer: 9.0.8112.16421  BrowserJavaVersion: 10.45.2Run by sheila at 18:26:02 on 2014-01-05Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium   6.1.7601.1.1252.1.1033.18.3032.791 [GMT -6:00].AV: Avira Desktop *Enabled/Updated* {F67B4DE5-C0B4-6C3F-0EFF-6C83BD5D0C2C}SP: Avira Desktop *Enabled/Updated* {4D1AAC01-E68E-63B1-344F-57F1C6DA4691}SP: Windows Defender *Enabled/Outdated* {D68DDC3A-831F-4fae-9E44-DA132C1ACF46}.============== Running Processes ===============.C:\Windows\system32\lsm.exeC:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe -k DcomLaunchC:\Windows\sy... Hello,

When I have my internet open it has started to play audio ads which don't appear to have any link to the page that I have opwn. If I close the browser down the audio continues to play and there appears to be no way to get rid of it. I would appreciate any help that could be given on this and have attached my HJT log below.

Thanks in advance.

Very recently my computer's audio has stopped working.
My headset has a separate microphone and headphone plugin. I use a combiner to put both of them into the computer at once.
Anyway, I cannot hear audio through my headphones, whether I use the combiner or not. I have tried to hear audio of various applications (browsers, Groove music, video games, etc.) and none work. The audio comes out through the computer speakers normally.
I have already restarted my computer and this did not fix the problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions/fixes?

I have windows 98 and the problem that I am having is for some reason out of the blue when I try to play any audio such as cd's or anything like that my windows media player drags like an old record on the wrong speed. even if someone sends me an audio message in dwyco(the video conferencing program I sometimes use) it sounds like it's dragging. as far as I know I didn't install or uninstall anything at the time this happened but I could be wrong.

Did it just start doing this or has it always done it? Also give your computer specs.

I usually watch videos in windows media player using my earphones, no problem at all. Today I tried to do so and noticed that the volume was much lower in the right earphone and it kept making a really bad static noise. First I figured I must've busted the right earphone by listening too loud or something. I swapped out the earphones for another set, but still the same issue. Note that I tried maybe 3-4 pairs, mostly stock iPod ones which I normally use, and a non-Apple pair. Didn't make any difference. I spent ages messing around with all my settings, trying different earphones, modifying speaker options, but I couldn't find the problem. Finally figured out that this issue is exclusive to WMP, as the earphones seem to work fine listening to anything outside of that application. Earlier on I was messing about with the sample rate in speaker settings and I'm not sure whether that may be a factor or not, but I returned it to the default and WMP playback is still messed up. Can anyone help me out with this if they know a potential fix? I use CCCP for codecs, if that has anything to do with it.

Hello;

I have a Sony TX670P that is upgraded to Windows 7, Version 6.1 SP 1. The issue I'm having is with the hearing sound on headphones. The speakers work fine, but once I plug in the headphones to the headphone jack all audio ends. No program plays sound or audio. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance for your help.

A:Trouble with audio

I think some of your driver must be missing, please install it, but first you should check the audio with some other headphone.

I got this Satellite Pro 4600 laptop and untill recently I had a perfect sound. I don't know what happened but it isn't working anymore.

The problem is that it doesn't detect any Audio devices.

In the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties --> Hardware. I go to my Intel(r) 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller and choose the Properties option. Than there will pop-up a new screen with several Multimedia devices I got and when I check their properties they all have this status:

Status: Driver is enabled but has not been started.

Anyone knows what to do with this?

(2) It seems like I lose my sound all of a sudden. For example, after I try to view a web video and get no sound, then my regular windows media play or spinner.com wont give me sound.

I have to reload the driver and restart and then it works again.

Few things for you to try....

There should be a yellow speaker on the taskbar, bottom right-hand side of your monitor. Click (once) on the speaker and see if a) the volume is turned up and b) if the 'mute' box is ticked.

If there's no speaker, you can find the same in your control panel, under sounds & multimedia. If unticked, tick the 'show volume control on taskbar' and then click on the speaker as described above.

Failing this; check the cables from your pc to speakers, are they all plugged in properly?

If your speakers have their own power supply, are they plugged in properly? If they have a separate on-switch on the speakers themselves, are they switched on? (sometimes round the back of a sub-woofer if you have one).

Do you have a separate sound-card on your pc, or using onboard sound? Is the green plug on the speaker cable plugged into the correct (ie green) lineout socket on the back (if you have a separate soundcard, you may well have 2 green lineouts, one on the sound card, one on the motherboard, next to some of the larger ports, often vertically aligned, make sure it's plugged into the sound card if you have one).

If none of the above work post your system specs and we can have a look at installing some sound drivers.

Go to Start/Run and type devmgmt.msc and press enter. In the Device Manager any devices with yellow flags need to have drivers installed. What is the make and model # of your computer? Go to the computer manufacturers Support/Download Drivers and type in you make and model# and download the Chipset and Audio Driver for your computer.

I'm trying to record an audio track for a song using Audacity, and I'm playing the song through my headphones while trying to record my track, but I end up recording both from my mic and what's playing through the headphones. I've tried using Sound Recorder and get the same results, so it's not Audacity's problem.

Long story short, it seems like my audio out is also getting fed into my audio in. Ironically I've been able to find millions of tutorials about how to make your computer do this, but I cannot seem to find a way to make it NOT record from my speakers and my mic. The various settings under audio devices are bafflingly cryptic to say the least, and no where can I find an option that would hint to why my audio out is being fed to my inputs.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

A:How to stop mic from picking up audio out

simplest solution--unplug the speakers/headphones--while recording through microphone--that said--I understand that you want to 'monitor' what you are recording--this process usually involves an audio mixer (hardware or software) with separate outputs/level controls AND headphones that entirely cover your ears so no sound escapes.
for starters check out the Audacity forums here:

Tutorials - Audacity Manual

and this article might shed some light on things, although it refers to using a MAC--the principles are the same

Hello,
Whenever I'm connected to the internet, at random times, audio ads play in the background, even when no browser is open. Ive searched the internet for solutions, and it seems that those who got the problem resolved posted in a forum like such. I have an idea as to what the problem is, but no idea how to solve it. If someone can walk me through this slowly, it would be much appreciated!

A:Audio Ads playing in background

Please run the following:

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit and save it to your desktop.
Be sure to print out and follow the instructions provided on that same page for performing a scan.
Caution: This is a beta version so also read the disclaimer and back up all your data before using.
When the scan completes, click on the Cleanup button to remove any threats found and reboot the computer if prompted to do so.
Perform another scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit to verify that no threats remain. If they do, then click Cleanup once more and repeat the process.
If there are problems with Internet access, Windows Update, Windows Firewall or other system issues, run the fixdamage tool located in the folder Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit was run from and reboot your computer.
Two files (mbar-log-YYYY-MM-DD, system-log.txt) will be created and saved within that same folder.
Copy and paste the contents of these two log files in your next reply.
Note: Further documentation can be found in the ReadMe.rtf file which is located in the Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit folder.

Hi guys,

I've read a lot of forum posts on similar problems, but I thought I should post to get a response that's a bit more tailored to my specific situation. Basically I've had this issue for the past couple of weeks where ads will play in the background (whether I'm using the computer or not) and occasionally a window or two with ads or whatever will pop up as well. I have Symantec, but on full scan that hasn't found anything. I've also ran MBAM and Ad-Aware multiple times in both Safe Mode and regular mode, which find tracking cookies and the like but haven't been able to fix the problems despite the most recent updates. Anyway, I'm at my wits end with this and am hoping you guys will be able to find something.

So basicly I hear audio advertisements playing in the background that talk about buying products, "How I got rich quick", etc...

Somethings to note are Firefox is my default browser I never use Internet explorer.
The Iexplorer.exe process will always run 3 instances of itself even though you cannot see it open, If you try to kill the process it will open back up automatically.
The application tab shows Internet explorer connected to the following website: "http://ib.pixadsserve.com/?s=23327" and will sometime switch to careercast.com.

I have tried MBAM but this thing will not go away. Maybe someone here knows.

About 3 days ago I started get the garbeled audio that sound like ads playing in the background.  In the sound mixer it shows up as "Name not available".   I ran window security - didn't find anything. Download and ran both AVG and Adaware.  AVG first - didn't find anything....Then Adaware.  Adaware found a couple trojans and attempted to clean them and reboot. At that point windows would not reboot. After hours of repair through windows 7 boot disc I have everything running again, but the weird audio feed is still there.  Please any help would be appreiciated.

Hi All,

I am new in this community and I'm really glad I've come across it.

I believe my problem started when I watched a video via streaming (for free) from this website called watch32.is. As expected, there are heaps of ads being free. Every time you clicked on the play button, it would open up a new page for the ads. After a few days, I noticed that while watching a show, an audio of a ads would play in the background.

I looked it up online and it appeared to be a malware/adware. I called my anti-virus/spyware product support and after running several scans no threats were reported. It is very annoying because even if I'm not browsing anything, the ad audio plays in the background.

Can anyone please tell me how to get rid of this?

Thanks a lot.

Cheers,
iwannabe_geek

I am a novice pretty new to this Site also and I am not going to even attempt to answer your query because I know that expert advice will be along here very shortly.
All I can say is this Site has been a god-send to me in helping me gain tech knowledge in how to keep my pc virus-free. The guys and girls here are awesome!
I am sure someone will come along to recommend you use Junkware Removal Tool and/or AdwCleaner of which there are downloads available within this Site.
Use them if indeed this is the case -  as well as read up about the potential problems that PUP's (Potentially Unwanted Programs) can cause. Also, if you are ever tempted to download and use a free pc 'boosting' or other supposed performance-enhancing program in future - DONT! Registry cleaners are a no-no as well!

Sorry to diverse away slightly from your original query....just a bit of 'advice' (if you can call it that! lol) from a fellow novice!
