Date stamp on photos

Q: Date stamp on photos

Wasn't their a discussion recently here about digitals that would stamp the date right on the picture? Someone is asking me this and I could have sworn a few models were given that did this but I can't find the post.

My wife's cousin has a Sony FD 73 camera. I don;t know how old it is but it uses a 3.5" floppy disk to record the pictures.
The instruction book I downloaded says the recommended OS is Windows 3.1 Windows 95 or later, so it is sort of an antique I suppose.
He needs to have the date embedded in the pictures I can't find a setting for this in the manual. Is there a way to change settings so he can do this?

When I take a picture with my Android phone, the date and time when the picture was taken is recorded, in the filename as well as in the JPG picture-file itself; all very convenient. To my horror I noticed that my phone reacts in an idiotic way to the GSM connection being lost: the date of the picture is 'reset' to, apparently, the date the device was manufactured. Subsequent pictures apparently start counting from there. This completely messes up the chronology of my pictures: all pics taken with no GSM connection end up with date/times on the same day, years ago.
I completely fail to understand why this is so and would like to know if this behaviour is particular to my device or if others experienced the same thing. Is it a bug or a feature?
I experimented with various methods to set the time: manual, from GSM-network or from GPS. I would have thought that using manual or GPS would remedy things, but it didn't. (Although it had some effect on Daylight Saving Time issues, but that's another story.)

Anybody else noticed that after the summer-time change, Win XP has changed the TIME STAMP on all files. I think this only happens on NTFS partitions, but the effect is that all backups held on non-NTFS partitions now appear to be an hour old. This is just STUPID, and can anybody tell me if this is intended, and if so what conceivable reason can there be?

better yet, can we do anything?

Hello all. I work around Outlook 2000. My question to you all is I have one account out of like 50 that is receiving e-mails late. Ex. Today 1/19/05 I am getting e-mails stamped 1/1/05 about three weeks after they were sent. I looked at the basic, Delay e-mail but it is happening from more then one person. I also thought about the whole time zone thing but I checked the time zone on the computer and it is set up right. And the funny thing is that it is not happening to all e-mails just the impartment ones.

Any ideas, any help

Thank You

A:date and time stamp for a search

I am not sure about a search time stamp... but if you check the history of the browser, you'll prolly find the websites they visited.

While ur browser window is active... prest Ctrl + H
Then sites that have been visited will show up at the left side of the browser (this all depends on your browser settings)

hope that helps!

A family member took many great pictures while on vacation but used the date stamp mode. I noticed in XP the date stamp does not appear on the icon when set to thumbnail view. However, it does appear in Windows 2000 thumbnails. Somehow the JPG holds more than one layer of info, but I've been unable to find them with Paint Shop Pro 7. The camera is a Sony Mavica CD-2000 and the picture format is jpg. I checked the archives and looked on the Net for information but have come up empty handed. Is there a photography expert that knows how to divide the layers, if that's the case?

Here is a weird one.
I have Photoshop CS 5 running in win 7.
When I save jpgs to a particular folder itn saves the wrong date stamp in 2013 with exact same time and date.
If i save outside this folder it saves out with correct time stamp.
Folder is shared on both Dropbox and GoogleDrive as is the location i saved  a test jpg which gives correct time stamp.
Any ideas? Its odd as it only this folder and only jpgs ...
I opened the file info and it seems to be reading the 'date taken' not the 'date created' info .
I created an image from scratch and saved it out as a jpg- looks like PS is picking up a photo texture on one of the layers data as its date taken. must be still in the data part of the image.

I believe I took in an update from Microsoft yesterday that addresses the fact that Daylight Savings Time is coming three weeks earlier this year than XP is expecting. Hi there,

Thank you in advance for checking out my query.

I rarely have the opportunity to use VBA so I apologise for my ignorance in advance

In the attached file I am trying to setup a few things ... tried several different codes from other sources, but weren't successful ... so I deleted the codes to avoid confusion (I am already massively confused.. I have been at this for the last 6 days and nights ... and I'm getting stressed out!).

Since there are a few things that I would like my form to do, I realise that if anyone is going to help me out, I will need to just ask for the most urgent items that are essential and have to wait with the other fixes.

There are 4 main fixes that I'd be immensely grateful for are;
The User enters a 4 digit code into a textbox named txt_SAC_No when that has been entered I need the textbox txt_SAC_Address to perform a Vlookup a named range (SiteNameADDRESS) and display the data in the textbox.
The reason for the result to be displayed in the textbox is because some codes are not listed and users will need to enter in the information manually.
I do not want the information that the user manually enters to be added to the named range.
If it is possible to have the next available Security Incident # (which is setup in Column A on the Incident Details spread sheet) when the user opens this form
Setup a Date and separate Time stamp to activate after the user has entered their name into the lbl_INC_Recorded_By textbox -... Read more

A:How to do a Vlookup in Userform, Date & Time Stamp

OK... it was all about size

I have taken all the unnecessary stuff out of the file ... so there is only the bare minimum in there... which should not affect the form or fields etc.

Small win for me today

Please let me know if you need any further clarification or information
Thank you again

I have spoke to someone who is dependent on sending customers' emails. It is vital that the email dates are correct. I think the problem started when the clocks went ahead.I have instructed them to do all updates for outlook 2003. I verified that the problem is not related to their email host. The date stramps are correct when they send out email usijng webmail. Her computer is free of viruses and spyware and is maintained very well. She did a detect and repair as well. She has Mcafee as her antivirus scanner and no firewalls that I know of.I spoke to her email server and they have not any such issues regarding their server.Maybe someone out there has dealt with thiis before. My hunch is that maybe by upgrading to outlook 2007, this problem would get resolved. She doesn't want to use outlook express, which has it's own problems and is not supported any more.I am clueless to what would be the next step.

I have a program that runs on a XP platform on several computers.
There is one computer that has a weird problem.

The program shows the time and date of the computer, which is the actual time and date.
The program can create bitmap images and text images.
When I click on the export button, the program will save the BMP and TXT files to the Harddrive with a total different date/time stamp.
The program wil export the BMP and TXT files with not only a filename, but also a date/time stamp (the correct one).
It will be exactly one hour and one day earlier.

This is not correct, because the computer has the current date and time, but Windows labels the files with a wrong date/time stamp.

If I open Windows Explorer, I can see the files listed as:

filename200908201250.BMP Bitmap Image 12KB No 302KB 97% 8/19/2009 11:50 PM

It will not impact the problem if I change the BIOS and Windows time.

Did anyone have this effect ever before and can it be a virus ?
The problem is, once in a while, I will loose BMPs and I cannot find them anymore.

A:Time/Date Stamp in XP shows 1 day and 1 hour difference

The problem is not the time difference itself.
The big question is, how is it possible that the program takes the time from Windows, displays it correctly in the program, saves the files with the correct time and date, but shows in Windows Epxlorer to be created on a total different moment ?
The exact same program is installed on many more computers and they don't have this problem.
I have replaced the program, Windows, HDD and the computer motherboard without success.
Could it be a virus causing this ?

10 - 20% of incoming emails get a WRONG Received date stamp in the navigation pane. On 15 Dec 2012 some emails got '25/01/2000', on 16 Dec 2012 some were stamped 26/01/2000 and a few hours later in the day '27/01/2000'. The emails originate from different senders including one from management software in this computer. That software sent me 5 emails at much the same time, four of which were stamped correctly but one '27/01/2000'.

Most emails are date/time stamped correctly but those stamped wrongly end up right at the bottom of the chronological list in the Navigation pane because of the old date. They are easily unnoticed.

The 'sent' date/time stamp in the email header always seems correct.

I never seem to know where to place the IFs. I yoinked the 2nd part of this code from somewhere, then added it to my existing code. It doesn't work, of course.

Option Explicit

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
'When workbook is open, if the date is blank, enter it
If Range("qadate").Value = "" Then Range("qadate").Value = Date + Time

'If the workbook is the "template", do nothing
If ActiveWorkbook.Name = "QA-Hosp" Then

Exit Sub

'If the workbook is NOT the template anymore, username & time/date stamp it

' Stores who and when on Record Sheet, column A

If Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row = 1 And Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Value = "" Then
Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Value = Environ("Username") & " " & Now
Exit Sub
End If

Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).Value = Environ("Username") & " " & Now

A:Solved: Workbook_Open Username & Time/Date Stamp

Looks like you need to move the End If to the line after the Exit Sub. Otherwise it is effectively exiting before running any further code in any case.

I would also consider changing your code so you are not selecting the Records sheet:
I would declare Records sheet as a variable instead:
Dim Record as worksheet
set Record = sheets("Record")
You can then change these references:

I have a new computer with Windows 7 on it - and I want to copy the files from my old computer to my new one. I'm looking at copying about 300 GB worth of data.

When I copy all files and insert them onto my new desktop, I notice that all of the date/time stamps are changed to today's date.

Is there a way to preserve the date/time stamp for each file, so that it keeps the original one?

A:Preserving date and time stamp on all files copied?

If you right click the folder, then select properties It should show:

Created: (This will be the date you copied it over)

Modified ( aslong as it hasn't been modified on the new machine, IT should read the date it WAS last modified?

Accessed: It should show when the folder was last accessed (opened)

In regards to "perserving the date/Time Stamp. I'm not sure this is possible.
You can always try checking the Modified Time/date ( mentioned above ) then add the date to the file/folder name. SO you always have a refferance.

I joined this forum for just this one problem...

My line of work requires that I take before and after photos of everything I do or photos to support the bidding of work to be done. The resolution is required to be 640x480 and the compression set to normal. Most of the time I am taking 100+ photos per job site. Sometimes completing 3-4 job sites per day. Past cameras I have used (Nikon CoolPix) allow the Date/Time Stamp to be a part of the image which is also required by my line of work.

I have been frustratingly searching for the instructions on how to get the Date/Time Stamp to be a part of the image when it is taken for the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000.

I understand that this information is recorded with the image and that I could use a program of some sort to add the Date/Time Stamp myself but due to the volume of images a software solution would no be viable.

Is there anyone that has used or can help find the instructions for enabling a Date/Time Stamp for this particular camera?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank You.

I have this problem. When I save an email with the option "save as" from windows mail IT will print the current date without maintaining the mail by default, but if you drag the email with the mouse and loose it in a folder now. I'm trying to fix this with this, but, did not work:
1) the .eml files change to the present date when they are indexed by the search indexer; this is, a few seconds after creation. Thus, backup/restore/sync will not work properly, but indexing.
2) if you delete that mentioned registry key, then the indexing of .eml files no longer works, i.e. you cannot find them in a full-text search. However, backup works now.
3) it is unknown whether the other solution, proposed by alecamiga, to link .eml to thunderbird and write lock the files, does the same or works better.

I apologize for posting to the "general" forum here - even though my issue concerns gmail, it may have something to do with file handling in Windows 7, so I'm shooting for the broader audience in this forum.

How do I save an attached file from my gmail account, such that the date and time stamp, once saved to my local computer, remains the same as that of the original file?

That's how I just always assumed it was being done, and yet with gmail, the files are saved to my local computer with their save date/time, not the date/time of the actual file.

This is just wrong! If I send a file to 15 people, I want each recipient to have a saved file with the same date/time - not 15 different times based on when they saved them.

What am I missing, to force gmail/Windows to preserve the original file date and time stamp?

BTW, I posted this question to a gmail user forum, and the only answer I got so far is unhelpful, and likely wrong, gobbledygook.

A:Saving gmail file attachments without changing their date/time stamp?

I doubt that can happen
At best there might be a universal Date Created or Date Taken on all of the files.
The camera it's self would enter that info "if" the time and date were correctly set on the device.

I then changed format back to UK, opened Event Viewer and , as above, the Time was back up.

If anybody knows what had happened I would be most interested.

My thanks to Bill............. from another site for helping me out with this one.

I've tried to send a delayed email using the "Do Not Deliver Before" function. Hoping the email would be date/time stamped when I wanted the recipient to receive the email. For example, sent the email on a Tuesday and scheduled the email to be delivered the next day (Wednesday) at 10am. The function did delay sending the email, but the date/time stamp was when I originally hit sent on Tuesday. What is the purpose of this feature if the date/time stamp will not indicate the date/time I wanted the recipient to receive the email?

When using this function, is there a way for the exchange to track the date/time stamp of the email when it actually leaves the Outbox instead of when you click send? I understand the exchange keeps track of the date/time stamp of when an email is sent, but why couldn't the exchange keep track of when the email leaves the outbox when using this function? Is there any exchange setup that will make this function work the way it is supposed to? Thank you

when i download photos from my canon camera, they are all put in a folder that is named according to the DOWNLOAD DATE. i'd like the photos to go into folders that are named according to the SHOOTING DATES. this was the behavior of windows in the past and for some reason it changed.
can you tell me how to change this and to get the photos sorted according to the date they were taken?

can you also tell me how to number the photos continuously, instead of numbering from 1 on each new date? i'd like the photos from day one numbered 1 to 14, from day two 15 to 23, and so on.

A:Sort downloaded photos by date taken

Hi tamirhoresh

I use the following free application to organize my images as part of my workflow.

cam2pc - Image Viewer and fully featured Digital Imaging software to Download, Organize, Modify and Share your photos

It has a down loader that should work with your camera and will allow much finer control than any of the manufacturers offerings. It will even re-name your existing structure to what you decide to go with

It can actually create folders and image filenames from the files own internal MetaData.

There is a Paid version but have found that the freeware does everything I need.

It is compatible with MS photo programs but actually contains a good set of display options so may even replace them

When I download photos from my Sony Cybershot to my notebook, using Windows Camera wizard to MY PICTURES relevant sub-file, they remain in the jpg file (& date) number order. But when I view or edit them in MS Picture Manager, I find some of my photos date order has been mixed-up compared to the order of taking and storing them on the camera folder and in the Explorer/My Pictures sub-file. So, when I simply wish to view them in a slideshow sequentially they are of course displayed as well out of order. Nor can I find a facility in MS PM to re-arrange them in date order? Furthermore, MS PM will not allow me to drag & drop them back into the date order (which would be a long job sometimes with holiday photos in any case!).

Has anybody a solution how to overcome this frustrating time-waster, please?

But the freeware Irfanview Image Viewer and Editor is very popular here at TSG.

My digital camera, like most, allows you to choose a setting to have the date appear on a picture when they are printed. When I view my photos on the computer there may be several that are too dark so using Paint Shop Pro I enhance them adjusting the contract so the picture will be lighter. The only problem is, when I print the picture that date the picture was taken does not appear but instead the date the picture was enhanced (or modified) is printed. So, if I take a picture on July 13, 2009 and enhance it on my computer on July 22, 2009 and then print it...the July 22, 2009 date appears on the picture. Is there any way around this other than importing the picture into Infanview and inserting the correct date onto the picture?

A:Original Date Doesn't Print on Enhanced Photos

If you right click on a photo and get properties, is the Created date the same as the Modified date after you make your edits and save? If so,....HMMMM, but if they are correct then whatever you are using to print with that puts the date on is reading the modified date instead of the created date. I'm using PSPX2 and from what I can see it maintains the created, modified and accessed date correctly after its been edited.

I have the PowerShot A1100 IS with the ZoomBrowser EX system. I can see my uploaded photos all before September 26. Since that time I have transferred photos over six times, but I cannot find them. Now, when I take say 5 photos, and proceed to transfer - no problems. I can also see the photos that I took after 9/26/10. If I click on one of the photos, I am kicked out of the system.

When I search for my photos by date, the ones before 9/26/10 are readily available. I have looked everywhere for my photos so I can edit, email, order on line, etc. but I cannot even see them unless I take some more photos to transfer to ZoomBrowser Ex. Of course, I cannot find my original disk.

Can anyone help me? I have tried a variety of search methods. I am still learning. I have Windows XP.

Thank you!

I have Vista Home Premium with Microsoft Photo Gallery on my Dell Inspriron 1721 laptop. I?m using a machine to transfer slides to a SD card then uploading them to Photo Gallery. Photos transfer Ok except the order of the photo gets scrambled somehow during upload. In other words, the photos on the SD card are in chronologically order but after uploading, when I view them in Photo Galley, the order is all mixed up. I know you can manual move them around but it?s hard to be sure of the original order and it is very time consuming when you have hundreds of photos. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix them. FYI I would call myself a novice user of Photo Gallery.

A:Uploading photos from a SD memory card into Photo Gallery scrambles order of photos

Will the Photo Gallery sort by name? You could prefix the photo names with numerical sequence. A utility like
Introduction - Bulk Rename Utility will do it easily. It's free.

Edit: if that looks too busy, the multi-renamer in FreeCommander is a bit simpler to use. [c] before the name prepends a number starting at what you select and incrementing by what you choose. Just press F2 when in the folder.

My sister has photos of me in my bridesmaid dress that she took with her camera. I saved them on my computer.
I am going out of town to see our family, and cannot take the computer, but want to show the pictures. I will have my camera.

I tried transferring the photos to my camera's memory card by changing their file names to the same type of name as the photos that were taken with my camera. They are displayed as DSCN0610, so I renamed the photos as DSCN0700 and so on. Then I put my memory card in the driver, (G drive) opened up the drive, opened the folder where the pictures from my camera were, and dragged the newly renamed photos into that folder.

I put the memory card back in my camera and hit the display button, and the message I am getting for the spots where those files are is "File contains no image data."

What did I do wrong? What do I do?

I have a laptop running Vista which came with some Google Gadgets. Initially the Photos gadget was working fine. As I decided to get my new computer organized (a mildly OCD thing to do ) I rearranged the folders that my photos were kept in. I noticed that NONE of my photos were appearing in the sidebar any longer so I clicked the link to 'add photos' and remapped to the My Pictures folder. This didn't help so I remapped to a deeper folder in order to get it closer to the photos. This didn't work so I remapped it down to a specific folder that doesn't have any folders in it. It only contains photos. Lo and behold... It didn't work. So... I searched the internet and found one question like mine with no answer following it. Needless to say, what looks like it should be a fairly straight forward adjustment has not been so. Please, what button am I not pushing to fix this?...

- The images app also doesn't start up. If I tap it, it opens but before the text ''camera roll'' and that stuff is loaded, it crashes.
- When my iPod is cabled (i know thats not a word) to my pc, a windows window appears for importing the photos on the ipod to the computer with windows. when I click import, the blue screen appears on my pc and luckily it can start up again. it happens every time. now that's not a very big problem.
- in itunes when i connect my ipod, a bar with some different colors appears, right? to show how much space apps, photo's, books, music and stuff you are using on your ipod. the problem is that there are no photos and i swear i had like 1 gig of photos on my ipod. i hope theyre not gone.

This mail came with the time, 8:34 AM, on it. Exactly what does this time signify (emphasis on "exactly").

Is this time obtained from the sender's computer at the time it was sent (in which case it could be incorrect if the time on the computer is incorrect)?

Is the time obtained from the sender's SMTP server at the time it was received by the SMTP server? And, if so, is it adjusted to the sender's time zone if the SMTP server is in a different time zone from the sender's computer?

Has anybody been able to figure out Microsoft's time/date stamping. Many times I have looked at the properties of a file and the modified date is before the creation date. Another thing that I can't figure out is why the access time is the immediate time, I mean the now time, I know I am accessing it right now, I want to know the last time it was accessed. Is there anywhere else in window that does this better than just right clicking on a file and going to properties or did Microsoft fail horribly.

Since there are two actual times that are unique for each single piece of email, time sent and time received, and they can not possibly be the same.

Is the time that an email leaves your PC, . . which is the time born on the email record in the sent file, . . the same time it bears when received by the recipient ?

A:Time Stamp on Email ?

Depends on a lot of things. First and foremost the way the sender and recipient mail servers are set up. Do they use UTC time or do they use local time? If you have that information then you can calculate time differences.

Other factors play into it such as when you send does your mail server have a malware scan queue so there is a delay? Is the mail sever set up to send in bulk at specific intervals. Like wise on the receiving end.

As I said many things can come into play when you hit the send button and dispatch your email to the ether.

When the user receives a voicemail on the land line, they are sent an email via a voicemail-to-email tool. The email has a copy of the voicemail, duration, phone number, etc. The time stamp within the email is correct. However, the time stamp that Microsoft puts in the message is incorrect. It is off by approximately one hour. Both the time and date settings and Outlook settings appear to be correct though. The time stamp that I am referring to is below the Respond Group within the Message tab. It is directly above contacts name and the subject of the email. In Outlook options, there is only one time zone selected, which is: UTC-5:00 Eastern Time US & Canada. The data and time settings for the computer are correct too. When I forward the original email as an attachment and subsequently open it on a different workstation, it has the incorrect time displayed too.

I have rebooted the workstation, performed a repair to Office, and opened the affected emails on another workstation (same problem). Any ideas how to resolve this problem?

Hello all:I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0, and have been trying to create a 'custom' stamp. The source of the stamp(s) are in the plug-in folder in the Acrobat directory, marked as 'pointers'. I am following the help section's directions word for word and I'm getting no results. After selecting the new stamp I am prompted to select one of the three default categories, or create one of my own. I've tried both, but when I save everything and all is said and done, I go to the stamp toolbar and my 'custom' stamp is nowhere to be seen. The custom category isn't showing up except in the 'manage stamps' dialog box.So after fiddling with it a bit more, I can create a new custom stamp, assign it in a new category, then close out the dialog box. When I next click on the stamp button (not its drop-down menu) my custom pointer shows up and is available to use. The problem is that my custom category is not listed among the others. Essentially I'm only able to use just one custom stamp, but the instructions clearly indicate that I can have a custom categories with multiple custom stamps. So I'm pulling my hair out over this issue. Is anyone out there familiar with using Acrobat stamps? (I really hope I'm making sense in this post LOL)Any help is very much appreciated. Don't hesitate to ask for more info should you need it.

Help! I am using a Seagate Central 4TB NAS drive attached to my router via Ethernet. It has been working fine so far for all kinds of file activities. But whenever I modify a file in one of its folders, the creation date for the file also updates and is

It happens for both a private user share on the NAS and for the Public share on it.
It happens for at least image files and text files.
I am able to edit files across two computers on the network just fine, the create date stays the same.

First the background: We are gradually deploying Office 2007, but not everyone in the agency has it. I have both 2003 and 2007 installed on my system, but I do my work in 2003, and none of our databases have actually been converted to 2007 format (at least, none that I work with). There are occasionally people who use 2007 when viewing databases, but I don't know if any of the people who are working in this particular database are using 2007. The problem is reproducible in 2003 and so I've been trying to fix it here. The query behind the problem report used to work. Greetings, and thanks in advance for your help..

Awhile back I formatted my Windows 10 PCs to show ddd dd-mmm-yyyy on my taskbar clock. This worked happily on my desktop and laptop for months, maybe even a year +

Now (probably starting in the past couple days, if not today), on one of those two PC's, this format will no longer display. It is Okay on the other PC.
What has changed that the taskbar clock space used to expand to fit the "short date" format, but now it will no longer expand - and instead just refuses to display the date at all. (NOTE: I've verified the issue by testing shorter formats -- short formats, like "ddd" show up correctly. Only if you request a longer format will the date not display - evidently because it is too long for the clock area. )

Additional Notes that may help:

* "Working" pc is running build 10586 PC with too small a clock space that won't expand -- Build 14393

*Other differences: Notification/Action center Icon is left of clock on the working PC - Right of clock on the non-working
Right- Clicking on task bar gives "properties" option on working PC -- But "Settings" option on the non-working

( I don't want to prejudice responses - but clearly the implication to me is that some recent OS update is most likely the culprit.)

Thank You

Hey guys,
I have a question about coding and setting an excel file to send emails. I am using an excel file to track maintenance work orders and I would like to get an email each day for each work order that is requested to be finished on that days date. I have attached the excel file I am using, and the column that is important is C, "Date Needed" - If that date is today's date, the cell turns red and I would also like to get email notification about it. A separate email for each cell that matches today's date.

Also, if possible, I would like for it to look at all the sheets, not just the current month's sheet. For example, if a work order was filed in July but wasn't needed until September, I would still like to get the email reminding me that it needs to be finished on xx date in September.

I have attached the excel file I want to use.

I have searched all over this forum and others and have found many posts similar to this, but I am not a great manipulator of code, so I cannot get any of the other solutions to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I need to return a number associated with a date based on today's date. For example: A1:A24 are numbers 1 to 24 and B1:B24 contain the 15th and 30th for each month of the year; 15-Jan, 30-Jan, 15-Feb, 28-Feb, ... 30-Dec.Cell C1 needs to return the number from A1:A24 based upon today's date compared to the date in B1:B24.For example today is 08/21/15, what number should be returned in Cell C1. It should be 15 as 08/21 is less than 30-Aug.message edited by jmichels

A:Return a number based on today's date compared another date.

Try this formula, see how it work for you:=INDEX(A1:B24,MATCH(TODAY(),B1:B24,1),1)This will work for most dates, but errors out if the Date is 01/14/15 or less.MIKE edited by mmcconaghy

I'm working on a spreadsheet that lists monthly recurring expenses. I have one cell on the sheet listing the current date (using the "=Now()" formula), but I'd like to have the other cells change at certain times throughout the month.

For example, if one cell currently says "April-15", when the actual date reads "April-16", the respective cell would change to "June-15". This way, whenever the spreadsheet is viewed the next recurring payment date will be seen.

I know this is the wrong tool for something like this - I'm using SharePoint at the office with a calendar list with workflows that shoot off emails in a much better put together format - but this is just for home use and I'd like to keep it all in one document if possible.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A:Excel 2010: Cell Date Change with Current Date

The way I read it was that you have fixed recurring payment dates, so you just want to know the next date based on the day today. Hope the attached might assist.
You need to list the payment dates somewhere and then the formula looks up the next date. You might want to look up today plus 1 (or something) to reflect the fact that if the next payment date is today, there's a good chance you'll not get any unplanned payments on that run.

Hi all,

I'm new to Windows 7 (Home Premium 32-bit) and I just can't figure out what's going on here! Basically I want my short date format to be dd/mm/yyyy (UK format) e.g. 05/11/2010, but when I key a date into Excel 2002 it is appearing as 05 11 2010. In Control Panel I have the short date format set to ddd dd/MM/yyyy and the example is shown as Fri 05/11/2010, but in Excel all the date formats are shown with space separators, e.g. 14 03 2001! I don't think it's an Excel problem though as in Windows Task Scheduler the dates are shown with spaces there e.g. '19:25 on Mon 01 11 2010'. The date by the clock though is shown correctly with slash separators!

I know in Windows XP you can select the date separator from a drop-down list, but this option seems to be absent in Windows 7. Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International in the registry, sDate was set to a space, but changing that to a slash (and rebooting) didn't fix the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas please what's wrong and how to fix it?

A:Date format using space as date separator rather than forward slash!

The option you're after is controlled from within Excel. If you right-click the cell(s) in question you can select 'format cells' and under 'Date' you can select the desired format.

Receive an email at 5:24 PM (outlook express verifies time on my computer)

(from the header)
Received: from ( [])
Received: from 236MM ( [])
by (Postfix) with ESMTP id ED17545F
for <[email protected]>; Fri, 13 Apr 2007 17:24:27 -0400 (EDT)

My clock is correct, senders clock is correct ... I go to forward the message at 5:24.
See below the time sent: 1 hour ahead (6:24)

Where is this time coming from, headers and clocks are all OK ... I'm stumped,
and it appears to be causing a spooling backlog on certain mail servers.

Any suggestions or thoughts, as to why this is happening?

A:Email Time Stamp Problem

1. Check to see if you are in the correct time zone; not only if your clock says the right time. (same area as you would go to change the time)
2. Check through the settings of Outlook Express to see if there is a place you can change the time zone.

I have a system image created today at 9:58am according to Windows Explorer. When I boot the Repair Disk and select that image, it shows the time as 6:59am --3 hrs earlier.

I checked my BIOS and it shows the correct time.

Anyone have any idea why this difference?

Thank you.

A:System Image Time Stamp

When you used the boot (rescue) disk, were you prompted to enter your timezone at one point after Windows booted up?

I suspect this may simply be a matter of setting the correct timezone when the disc-based Windows prompts you for it.

I have a new surveillance system at a home I bought to flip and I have been having all sorts of problems understanding its setup. I have called Samsung's tech support many times for various problems and their universal solution for every problem is to reset the unit to factory defaults before working on any problem. I've been through that so many times that my frustration with their tech support has now turned to anger. The re-setup of all my users and other customizations after their lame tech support costs me hours of work afterward.

So, here's my problem: I want to use the DVR's synchronization with an internet time server; but I can't find the correct settings. When the DVR's console displays the correct time, the time stamp on alert e-mails is several hours off. If I adjust the GMT, so that e-mail alerts have the correct time stamp, the time displayed on the DVR's displayed time is several hours off.

I'm in the CDT zone (USA) and I use a mail server ( [email protected] )

Can anyone help me with this?
