Can I resize a file to 8x10 with out losing some of my image?

Q: Can I resize a file to 8x10 with out losing some of my image?

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone can help me please?
Is it possible to resize a file to 8x10 (300 ppi) without losing some of my image? I have tried setting the ratios to 8x10 but when I use the rectangular marquee tool or the crop tool and drag out the box the shape is cutting off a lot. The image was taken at close range so I don't have any room to move. I am using Elements 9 to edit.
Many thanks for any help.

A: Can I resize a file to 8x10 with out losing some of my image?

not unless it was taken with the same aspect ratio - otherwise you will change how the subject looks

in elements you should be able to set 10" x8" height and width and aresolution 300dpi in the crop tool and then use that - and the correct size will be shown

I've got an image that I want to get printed through snapfish on 8x10 paper. When I print the image, as is, it get's cropped and doesn't look good. I've been doing some reading on printing digital images to standard photopaper. (aspect ratio's etc). For the image I want to print I'd like to resize the entire image to fit to 8x10. I'd like to do this by having whitespace on one side of the image and physically. trimming the photo. I'd prefer not to crop. The image just doesn't look good cropped.

I have irfanview, no access to photoshop. It seems like this is pretty easy to do in Adobe PS from tutorials on the web. And playing with irfanview it seems like this should be possible as well. However when I try do it. The image quality is too low for even a 4x6 print. So I know I'm doing something wrong. The stats on the original image are in the 1st attached screenshot jpg.

In irfanview I do the following
1) Select Image Resize/Sample
2) Set new size (to inches)
3) Image size is 27 x 28.56 (see Picture)

4) I change it to 8 x 8.46 (Irfanview's calculation with preserved aspect ratio) (see Picture)

5) I click ok (with resample)
6) Snapfish says image resolution is too low. My plan is to have 1.5 inches of whitespace on the long side and to physically trim the print.

see the last attached jpg for the IV stats on the processed picture.

What am I doing wrong? Or is it not possible to resize the photo and retain image quality.... Read more

Somehow I've lost the ability to right click on an image file and resize it. I used to be able to right click on a file, go to "send to", "mail recipient" and have a wizard pop up that would allow me to resize images for the email.. but no longer. I don't think I've installed anything lately that would compromise this feature, but who knows... I've tried downloading and installing the image resizer power toy from MS, but it doesn't seem to register and I don't get any options that allow me to resize images if I right click on them...

In any case, any help someone may have would be very helpful...
thanks.

My primary hard drive is seen (by Windows/apps) as being twice it's real size. Is there any way to resize it without losing all of the data I've loaded onto it?

Initially, I tried to stripe two drives, but gave up and removed the disk array. I installed a lot of software before I discovered that the boot disk partition table was still twice it's actual size. It's not causing a problem, but I suspect that somewhere down the road it will. I really don't want to start from scratch, if I can help it.

I've got a little problem.....i have a folder with a LOT of images (.jpgs).

I need to resize them ALL. The only way I can figure out doing this is opening them one by one in my image editor, resizing, saving, going to the next one.

With several hundred images, I would love to be able to do this in bulk. They all will be the same size when I am done with them.

Can this be done?

I am talking about the image that first appears before you log in. I have Photoshop, yet it seems whatever I do it crops the height. I am not concerned with the width but what the entire height. My resolution is 1920x1280.

Also, my screen saver consists of images, of which some of them are being cropped as well. What is the max width & height in pixels I need so I get no cropping>

Thanks!

A:How do I resize opening image to display entire height?

Is 1920x1280 your native resolution for your monitor? Meaning, is that what it's official rating is?
If so, then that should be the resolution, why it is cropping, I would not know, that doesn't make much sense.

However, I have an image that I am using for my lock screen that is 1920x1080, but my native resolution is 1600x900
I do not get any cropping.

On the screen saver, if you are using the Photos screen saver, it should resize them to fit the screen

You may need to reinstall or update your video drivers.

Also, have you done any tweaking to your system? Made any changes at all? Reg Keys, customizations?

Hello,
I have this page with an image & two text fields for the user to put in new width and height for the image(it changes dynamically on losing focus from one of the fields using "onBlur"). below this there's a submit button that calculates prices based on the size the user has set and shows it in a table.
Now here's the problem: no matter where i put the image in the page, if i put values that are very far from the existing value (like putting 300 instead of 10 in the width field), the button changes its place before i can click on it because of the image resizing, and so i need to click the button twice. any idea what can i do?

I want to use Irfanview to resize my images using a windows batch file.

From the GUI one can specify that a picture should not become larger as a result of the resize. However, I can not find such an option between the command line arguments.

1) does anyone know how to do this (when possible)?
2) Is there a good Irfanview site/forum somewhere?

Hi all,

I have a good one for you! At work I need to streamline a system for our production by creating a .bat file (are there any other programs you can create for free?) so that I can take a collection of .jpg images in a Folder, automatically resize them, and then move them to another folder).

I know the script for moving files but not for resizing images.

There may not be a .bat program but I am sure I saw somewhere a program that could launch an application and then run the keystrokes you set (a bit like a Macro).

Any ideas how I could acheive what I need?

Hi,

i have a ".tiff" file that is huge 310 mb, I scanned it on too high a resolution. I no longer have the source document.

How can I reduce the file to make it more manageable, this size is a killer on system resources. The file contains many pictures, is there a way to break them out into individual pictures (without doing it 1 at a time)...maybe into a Powerpoint presentation?
I downloaded Ifranview but I don't know how to get the file size reduced, I tried the resize on the Image menu, and chose 640x480 and it only reduced by 10 mb.

Just looking for a simple way if anyone has any suggestions.

I have a 1.2GHz Duron computer with a ti4800SE 128MB DDR memory, etc. etc. and recently I tried to increase hte size of hte paging file thinking it may be behind why two of my games may not be playing at all. I defragged thinking it may be a problem with how much memory was contiguous or free, etc. but that had no effect. The thing is: I can decrease or remove the paging file, but If I attempt to increase hte size of any of htem (I have 4 partitions and only two have PF's), I can hit set, but as soon as I click "ok" my computer restarts cold, and I can find no reason it did that. if anyone has had similar experiences, pleas ereply or even if you just have a hunch. It's starting to get to me, considering that I now have about 300 MB of virtual memory and am 'recommended' to have 640 minimum. I previously had 1024MB but wanted to allocate more to one specific drive. Guess thsi was a bad idea.

I build our image master in a VM, I'm concerned with deploying now because I seem to lose 2 activations (rearms) immediately after the image master activates itself. This has been going on for a while now... Yes, I can deploy these images as there IS 1 rearm
remaining, but I would feel a lot more comfortable having an additional rearm on my image master so as not to have to do a complete rebuild if I inexplicably lose another one...

I did a test case yesterday, I installed Windows 7 Enterprise x64 from the ISO downloaded from MS VL site. It was installed on a newly created virtual machine. On my first log in after installation finished, I ran slmgr.vbs /dlv and saw there were 3 remaining
windows activations. I ran slmgr.vbs /ato, then checked /dlv again and it was down to 1! How can I lose 2 rearms immediately after activation?

thanks in advance!

I'm on Win 7 Ultimate x64.

I just upgraded to a 4K monitor, and I've read on some issues related high DPI displays, and this might be one of them. I've set the default magnification to 150% in my Windows 7 display settings. And for the most part things look ok. But I noticed some strange behavior within file explorer.

Here's an image for reference
You can see all that unnecessary extra space in the "Size" and "Date Modified" column. So naturally I try to drag the column width to make it smaller. But it wouldn't cooperate! If I try to make the Size column smaller, Explore jerks around and suddenly makes either the "Name" or "Date Modified" column bigger. Same if I try make one of the other columns smaller.

I've tried the Right click options on the columns: "Size Column to fit" and "Size all columns to fit". No good. It would still give me a bunch of unnecessary space in all columns.

This issue didn't happen on my old 1080p monitor. I can resize columns as I wished and they would behave.

Anyone have any idea what's happening and how to solve this?

A:File Explorer: Bad hehavior when trying to resize columns (4K monitor)

Have you tried specifying an exact size for columns?

Periodically (not every time) I reboot my Win7 system, the directories I have shared on the 1.5Tb external drive keep disappearing when viewed from another computer. This huge drive is used primarily as an external backup disk and I need those shares to be available all the time.

Since I use SyncToy (under scheduler control) on my various computers to do my automatic backups, they will periodically fail and I won't know it until I look at the logs. I check the "Network" and see that under my backup computer there are no shared directories available. I have to go over to the backup computer and perform a re-share of every one of them. This can sometimes take as long as a couple of hours depending on how many directories/files are in the backup directories.

Can someone enlighten me as to why this is happening?

I had posted this before and got no answers. The problem continues. We are running 8 computers on a network. They all share files to two of the computers that keep two different files. They all share the printers.

They all run Windows XP - Home and one the "server" runs Windows XP Pro.
Periodically and now seemingly more often, one or two of the computers loses file sharing. At times they lose the file sharing from a specific folder, other times they lose the file sharing service and I have to reload it in the computers Local Area Connections. The File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft protocol will be missing.

We have to reload or reset the file sharing and all works well. Then a day later....

When you set up sharing do you have to specify the entire drive... We dont. I have only set up an individual folder within the C drive? Has anyone had anything like this before/

At first I thought that the Microsoft updates had changed the settings. But this happens to computer that have not had an update since the last time that it had been updated.

This does not happen to the same computers on the network. So I dont think it is any one computer. This has happened in two offices with totally different computers and network equipment.

I am perplexed!!

I am frustrated!!

I will be grateful to anyone that can help!!

Thanks

I recently contracted a virus which seems to have eliminated ALL my file associations. I've confirmed that .LNK, .EXE, .COM, and .BAT associations are gone. All proposed fixes to re-associate .EXE files don't work for me, because of all the other associations I've lost.

I have been able to click the power icon on the Start screen, hold-down shift, and click Restart to take me to a menu with many helpful options like Refresh, Reset, Safe Mode, and Command Prompt. I booted into Command Prompt Mode, and executed this command, which I found online and thought would re-associate .EXE files:

assoc .exe=exefile

The shell response was "exe=exefile", which I thought meant that the change was made. The "shutdown" command did not work, and I didn't see any option to exit Command Prompt Mode, so that that point I used the power button on my desktop's tower to do a hard reset.

I then tried to boot into Safe Mode and launch EXEs there, but it didn't work.

After returning to my desktop, nothing changed. I'm confident that Refresh will resolve this, but is anyone aware of a way I can use shell commands to fix this without having to re-install all my programs and re-configure all my personal settings?

Thanks!

Every so often I see a post where people want to break up the link between the .html file and its associated "xxxxfiles" folder that constitutes a saved web page.

Me, I want to KEEP the association but can't. Every time I reboot and every few hours I have to reset the association.

There was a Registry tweak here at Seven Forums that enabled the setting to be seen in Folder View as well as a Microsoft article:
Managing the File System (Windows)
I tried it Microsoft's way and had no luck. I installed the SevenForums tweak but it keeps reverting to breaking up the association. I had no problem with this before a Windows Update Patch Tuesday not too long ago.. July's, I think.

I've attached a screen shot. What I WANT is either item marked in red. What I keep GETTING is the one between the two. I remember settings in Tweak UI for both Win95 and XP that enabled and retained the file association. But now in Win 7, I can't get it to stick. Any ideas are more than welcome.

I am trying to help a friend of mine. For some reason he has started to randomly lose the ability to use the Outlook email address auto complete functionality provided by the outlook.nk2 file. He has contacted his company's tech support and their solution was to back up the file to the server so they can remotely restore it when it vanishes. I don't call this a "solution", something has to be deleting or resetting the file. It really causes my friend alot of pain cause he relies solely on this function for his email addressing (he is a bit up in his years and as the saying goes, old dogs don't learn new tricks!). Hi All,
I'm having a problem specific to Vista and Windows 7. I do tech support for a software company that uses access files to store company information, in a file called database.mdb. Occasionally customers need to uninstall/reinstall their software, and we have them copy/paste the database.mdb file to another location on their computer before doing so, so they won't lose their information. With older versions of Windows the customers simply had to point their software, once reinstalled, to this database.mdb file in the location where they pasted it in order to view their data. With Windows Vista, however, when they point the software to this new location it is missing all their information--it only includes the data that came in the database.mdb file when they initially installed the software on their computer.

I have had some success, in the past, with re-creating folders with the same names as those which had originally contained the database.mdb file, copying the copy we had created, and pasting it in those folders to the file is in the same path as when its data was originally updated. Yes--making a copy of the copy which did not show the information, and placing it back in the location the information was originally updated, worked.

The past couple days I've come across a couple customers for whom this did not work, however. One is using Windows 7, the other a version of Vista. They both have their software and data in a folder called "Pro... Read more

Hello,

I recently picked up some nastiness when a window popped up telling me I needed to download an update for an antivirus program. In my haste, I assumed that the distorted 'shield' image was my Dell-installed McAfee warning me of something or other, so I swatted it away with a click to "ok". Well, you can imagine my *facepalm* moment about 1.5 seconds after clicking OK -- when I realized my mistake and tried to undo my "OK" click. ARGH. I ran Malwarebytes, CCleaner, Spybot S&D and McAfee scans. I seem to recall that Spybot and CCleaner found problems or issues. I fixed them there but I still suffer from this issue:

Whenever I start my computer, my EXE file associations are gone. The programs are 'in there' but the icons (now changed to simple boxes) will not summon them. When I go into My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types: EXE is not listed under Registered File Types. So, my work-around has been to manually enter EXE as a File Type and associate it with Applications. Well, this is a pain (although I have become very quick at doing it), but I would appreciate any help you could provide in fixing my EXE file associations so that they work properly. Thank you in advance... here comes my log:

When copying a WP5.1 file to WP9.0, the entire file does not transfer. In a 6 page file the last 2 pages do not transfer. This happens with every file. In verifying the 5.1 file we find it is still intact. When copying a WP5.1 file to WP8.0, the entire file transfers.

Anytime I drag a file(s) in a folder window, a translucent, oversized icon follows the mouse pointer, partially obscuring up to 4 nearby items.

Can this effect be disabled? I'm sure somebody at MS thought it was slick idea, but it just gives me a headache. I haven't found a setting that controls it -- maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot. (Am guessing, while this isn't an "animation" per se, it's in the same general category.)

Thanks a ton for any clues.

We're having an issue lately where Windows 7 workstations lose their connections to network printers and file shares. A reboot generally solves the problem, but we'd really like to find out what's causing it and prevent it from occurring.

From what my helpdesk tells me, it seems to be happening not in the middle of the day, but rather when the users come in the morning - presumably after the computer wakes up from sleep.

These are the errors they've been receiving:

When trying to reach a network share (to be precise, a NAS share on a NetApp filer)

"The Kerberos protocol encountered an error while attempting to utilize the smartcard subsystem"

When clicking on a shortcut that points to a file on the Netlogon share on a domain controller:
"The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'xyz.lnk' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, then try again."
When trying to connect to a previously installed printer that sits on a Windows 2012 R2 server, they get the following error:

"Windows cannot connect to the printer. The server printer spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler on the server or restart the server machine."

(When this happens no one else using that print server is having any problems).

Any ideas how to solve this, or even how to begin investigating?

Thanks,

David

I have been using file history for about three years in Win 8.1. I have file history set to keep saved versions three months because originally it was recopying every picture and filling up my external HDD.

I recently have moved some folders within the picture group of folders. However, the moved folders still appeared in their original location as well in their new locations. I ran a cleanup . Now the old folders are gone, but the moved folders are empty. The contents of the folders did not move.

1. Why are moved folder empty?

2. Should I create a complete new file history backup?

3. If so, how?

Thank you.

Hi,
This is my first post.
First of all, I would like to congratulate and thank all the Admins, Developers and Tech enthusiasts on this forum/site for dedicatedly and painstakingly helping, solving and resolving issues and troubles of tons of people around the globe saving them time and money. This is really appreciable.

My Issue:
I have a large number of audio and video karaoke files (more than 25,000) in one folder and the lyrics of them in another as text or image files. When I have to play Audio/video file without the lyrics, I have to manually locate the Lyrics/image file to sing along.

I was wondering if somehow I could be able to open the lyrics file (text/image) when I click the audio/video file. So when I double click on an audio/video file, the associated text/image file would also open along with it (Like mp3 file is a hyperlink to text file).

Some mp3 files have text lyrics which I can open in Winamp. But creating/converting all audio/video with lyrics will take years for me taken into consideration the number of songs I have. Please enlighten and help me with this issue.
Thank you for your time and efforts. Cheers~!

Story:
I was editing a picture at the time and I needed a render of a hexagon. So i searched "Hexagon" in Google, found one I liked, and "right click on image -> Save image as -> Save" Like I normally do. This file was a bit different though, It was a ".SVG" which is my first time encountering it. I looked it up on google, and google said it was an 2d image file, so I figured i should try to open it in Photoshop. However, right after I tried, my Photoshop crashed. I was like. "No big deal, I'll just reopen Photoshop." But then it kept crashing. I deleted the image file and then went to save my after effects composition. Surprisingly After effects crashed too, and kept crashing after I tried to reopen it. Shortly after, I got an error that said "Windows explorer stop functioning, would you like to reload?" and that kept popping up. I decided to do a scan with Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes didnt find anything except some "PUP" stuff. I restarted my computer and everything seems to be working fine now.

Question: Is the image file below a virus or was it just my computer going funky and I have nothing to worry about?Google Image File:This is the picture I downloaded and tried opening in photoshop. (Could anyone please download and check it for infections? Too download just "right click on image -> Save image as -> Save") https://www.google.com/search?q=hexagon&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=2EInU--eOeGqyAHO3oDwBg&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1600&... Read more

Try this program (it's free). It will show a tree of all programs and files on your drive so you can see what is using up your space. Install it and right click the icon and select "Run as administrator". The only thing it does not show are your page file, pagefile.sys and the hybernate file, hyberfil.sys. These can be 4 to 8 gb depending on the system settings.

from what I can tell the question that I answered was restore the drives concerning windows operation.
on the laptop that I was going to restore it to had about four more drives. since I had done an upgrade in the beginning I figured that they were from windows 7 or 8.1
I could not did not see a place to add exclusions to list the drives and also in disk mgmt. some do not have drive letters to even identify them.
any thoughts on were I can get more instructions on file history operation or what I might do?

Ok, I have this *.toast CD image that I want to burn, or extract it's files to install them, the problem is this format it's for mac only, but in the content(whitch I've been able to see but not to extract with IsoBuster) there is both windows and mac installers, so I imagine it's an Hybrid CD, now I need a program that allows me to do one of those 3 things:

1.- Extract the content so I can install the program.
or
2.- Burn the Hybrid CD from the *.toast image so I can install the program.
or
3- Convert the HSF format of the image into ISO format so I can burn it.

Plz I beg for your help, anything would help, even links to another foorum or sites where I might find help.

A:Ahh!! I need help with this image file

The Toast format is exclusively for Mac. The format is called HFS and not "HSF" (it had me baffled for quite some time). I cudnt find any convertor from HFS to ISO. But after much googling, I found that u can simply write the Hybrid image to a cd using Nero 6 or Easy CD Creator. Follow these links: http://www.macdisk.com/faqcden.php3#BM10 and http://www.ntu.edu.sg/CITS/SoftwareDirectory/Utilities/Others.htm The first one speaks of Easy CD supporting HFS, and the second one about Nero supporting HFS, and HFS/ISO hybrids.

U may also try extracting the contents with UltraISO. go here and download: http://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/main.htm

*.nrg is a Nero disc image file, but I'm pretty sure you can use Daemon tools to burn it or Poweriso to mount it. {link for DT} {link for poweriso}

I am working on a Lenovo B570 with a legitimate copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. The hard drive is toast. I can read it via a different laptop, but booting up either from the hard drive or recovery disk just leads me around in circles.

I am wanting to re-format the hard drive (or replace the current one) and re-install Windows. MS' site no longer has the iso I need. I have copies of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit iso, but I am in need of the iso for Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Does anyone know where I can get one?

You should be able to use the ei.cfg removal tool to unlock all versions.

Quote:
If your licensed version is unavailable you can unlock all versions in any ISO by running ei.cfg removal tool or by deleting ei.cfg from Sources folder on bootable flash stick.

Hi

I've started to have a problem that whenever I open any sort of program it comes up with an error "(Program Name).EXE - Bad Image, This application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\System32\vajilola.dll is not a valid Windows Image. Please check against your installation diskette.". This happens for all program, even things like notepad and rundll32.

Apparently it started yesterday when my little "rat *******" brother downloaded a crack for a game (Act of war if you must know) so i ran AVG Anti-Spyware and it picked up a few viruses (mainly tracking cookies) and dealt with them but once i restarted my pc it was still coming up with the error message. So after that I try running scan disk to make sure it wasn't a HDD problem and it came up clean, so then i tried a system restore and yet it still comes up with this error, tho it seemed quite odd that i had only one system restore point (yesterday) even tho i've installed a few programs in the past few days.

Any ideas people? Thanks

Hello All, I have a digital camera that takes photos in the JPG format. However I would like to change the file format from JPG to TIFF, keeping the new TIFF size to approx. the same size as the JPG size. I have Photoshop Elements but cannot figure out out to change the format from JPG to TIFF without changing the resolution. When choosing “Batch Processing”, I didn’t fill in the “Convert Image Size” expecting the new TIFF file to be approx. the same as the JPG file. When I carried out the conversion, without changing the resolution or file size I found that the file size had increased by more than ten times (from 1.4MB to 11.5 MB). Maybe someone who has Photoshop Elements could explain to me how it is done?
I have Win.XP. Home.
Thanks

The file size of an image is determined by the size, resolution, bit depth, and complexity of the image.

Or are you downloading them to the system?
What are the file extensions in question?
What are you using as an image viewer?

I have backed up my dvd collection on my hard drive, but they are backed up as DVD images that are 'ready to burn'. My Sonic burner will burn the files into a DVD watchable on my tv, but is there any way to watch the DVD images on my computer without having to burn them? thanks!

A:Watching a DVD Image File

Just copy the files from the DVD as they are into a named folder. PowerDVD at least will play these files as I suspect will other software DVD players (unless the DVD's are copy protected in which case you won't be able to do this)

A:750MB image file on cd ??

You need a 90minutes CD and a program like Nero that can overburn up to 90/99 minutes.

Is it possible to edit the .ISO or anyother Image file with some software? I created a .ISO file but i forgot to add some files so i'm looking for a software that can inject files or folders into the image file or we can simply open the file in a particular program and edit them.

A:Editing the ISO (Image) file?

quite a few applications will let you edit iso's magiciso is one of them, I believe the feature only works in the pay version though.

Hi everyone,

I recently borrowed a friends external hard drive to copy images from his vacation onto my computer, and on my computer (macbook pro) all the images I had on my computer before, and the vacation pictures don't have a preview image showing up anymore.

The file has a generic .jpg image and the file name underneath but no image of the picture itself.

I've went to Finder> View> Show View Options and made sure the Show Image Preview is checked, but the images wont show up.

Anyone know how to fix this?
thanks

Really simple: using Resource Hacker (Resource Hacker)
Open Resource Hacker (in Pfx86 - create shortcut)
- Create New Blank Script (Ctrl+N),
- Action Add Single Binary or Image Resource ... , open .ico or any image, add resource,
- Save as .dll file (manually give a name and extension .dll)
AND YOU HAVE OWN .dll file for a eye blink !!!
That is all, hope that I help someone !!!

Hello Techgyan,

You can try running sfc /scannow. Open the run box and type in the command. you will need to put the winxp cd in the drive if any problems are found.

The "bad image" error can be caused by malware on the system. you can also run the steps listed in the malware forum

Hi there. Can anyone help me with extracting Nero Image file (.nrg) to HD? instead of buning to CD. IS there special soft for that? THanx!

A:Nero image file

WinISO claims to handle the NRG format. Nero also includes a thing called "Image Drive" that will allow you direct access to the contents of NRG files.

Moved to proper forum,Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs ,~~Moderator boopmeI receive the error "The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\advext.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette," every time that I attempt to open any program. I have to select "OK" on the dialogue box in order for it to open the program. Sometimes I'll receive the error more than once. I have tried to manually locate the file in hidden files as well and it's not there. If I go and try and save a notepad document in the location the file is supposed to be and save it as "advext.dll" it tells me that file already exists and asks me if I would like to replace it. I have ran full virus scans and malware scans using Symantec Anti-Virus and Malwarebytes. I have attached my Hijackthis log file.

hi everybody,
I have a question on how to install windows XP SP2 on 50 computers using windows deployment server. Actions done so far
- WDS has been installed and configured on SCCM 2007
- On a reference computer i installed win XP SP2 with all the needed applications.
-I added the winPE.wim from win AIK installation folder and Boot.wim from windows Vista DVD to the boot image section of windows deployment server
- On a reference computer
- i inserted win xp sp2 & ran setupmgr.exe and "an answer file has been created" pop up message was displayed.
- Then i ran sysprep.exe, clicked the "factory" button after few minutes the pc shuts down. Then i powered it on and clicked "reseal" button. Then again it shuts down. I powered it on again but before that i configured my pc to boot from on board network controller. When the reference pc started it attempts to find a DHCP server and after a few minutes it display "PXE error E53: No boot file name received".
So, now what could possiblely go wrong? What are the possible things that could cause the reference computer not be able to connect to the windows deployment server?

Please help me out!

I use Ulead DVD Movie Factory 6 Plus to author the dvd. I then save it on my HD as an iso which I burn with Imgburn. I am using VLC to test the iso file before i burn and the video and audio is good. After I use imgburn to burn the iso to a dvd, the video is fine on my pc and dvd player, but there is no audio. My question is, if the audio is there when I test the iso with VLC, where does it go when I burn with Imgburn? Thanks.

A:No audio in ISO image file

I've been having alot of trouble with my brand new pc, having BSOD, caused by 2 drivers, tcpip.sys and e1x62x64.sys, i was on my way to fixing this, when i posted over on Sevenforums and got some help from the guys there, but i had another bluescreen, and my system did a CHKDSK on startup, this screwed EVERYTHING up.

Now, whenever i try to run a program, i get this error, example:

(trying to run battlefield) "BFBC2Game.exe - Bad Image"
C:\Windows\system32\webio.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

I get this same error on almost everything i try to run.

I saw that kevinf80 helped another guy with this, who seemed to have the same problem as me, but i dont know for sure that i am to do the same steps as he did in the other thread.

I run Windows 7 64bit.

A:Bad Image File help if you see this kevinf80!

Hiya Ihatebsod,

It is not a very good idea to follow a fix that was created for another posters system. Hit the report tab at the bottom of the reply and ask to be moved to the malware removal forum, or just go there yourself, start a new thread and post a set of DDS logs.
You may have to wait, it is very busy at the MRF.

Thanks,

kevinf80
