Q: problem running nero

I have Nero Ultra Edition 6.3.0.0 and when I try to run it I get this message:

Nero - Burning Rom has a known compatibility issue with this version of Windows. For an update that is compatible with this version of Windows, contact Ahead Software

I have Windows XP Home SP2

Since the release of sp2 nero has had a update, if your had your nero before sp2, you need to go to nero site and download updates.

OK, I just switched to Nero 7 Ultra because I had heard good things about it. However, this app seems to run slow to me. Is this app notorious for that? Anyone else have experience with this app? I have cleaned up my startup menu, and no apps running in the background. Every other app is running as fast as usual, which is good. Just Nero. I was tinkering with it all day yesterday and it even crashed on me twice. Maybe I was just a little impatient too. Made a NeroVision movie last night. Went to burn it to DVD with an estimated 4 hour completion. 2 hours into the burn, it froze my whole computer, my clock even stopped and froze. Had to reboot. Any ideas? I might try a defrag today and clean up some more system files. More RAM? I have an Athlon processor 2.16 and 512 RAM. Windows XP. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know by default under Vista in remote sessions, these types of apps wont work or will error out..

Does anyone know of any way to get around this.. at least in the VirtualCD sense.. that perhaps i could trick PowerISO into working for mounting virtual discs?

Thanks

A:Running CD apps like PowerISO or nero in remote desktop session possible?

Hey Markm75

You need to allow access to your drives within remote desktop. You need to use the Group Policy Editor in order for drives
to become available through remote desktop connection

Try this:

In Group Policy Editor
1. go to Computer Configuration
2. Administrative
3. Templates
4. System
5. Remote Storage Access
6. All Removable Storage:
Allow direct access in remote sessions... set this to ENABLED.

Or alternatively use a program like UltraVNC. UltraVNC is a powerful, easy to use and free software that can display the screen of another computer (via internet or network) on your own screen. The program allows you to use your mouse and keyboard to control the other PC remotely.

The OS being used is the 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium.

I am trying to burn a DVD video file (.vob file) to a DVD disc using Nero Vision Essentials (Nero 9).

After importing the file into the project, I played the video and found that it has no sound.

As a result, when I have successfully burned it to a DVD disc and played this disc on my DVD player, it has also no sound.

I have an external hard drive with some files backed up from an old XP system using Nero Back Up software (files have the .NBA extension)
I am looking for a new computer and will want to install some of these files onto the new computer. Am I able to do this if the Nero software is not installed on the new computer, or will I have to buy Nero software just to add these files to the new computer? If so, is that always the case, that one must restore files using the same software used to backup the files?
Thanks.

A:Restoring file backed up on old system with Nero..do I need Nero

Yes, you will need to install the Nero Backup software in order to restore the .nba files.

You can try using their free version of NeroBackItUp from here http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads/ to see if that will work.

If not, they have older versions of the same free program http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads/previous-versions/nero-backitup.php

See if you can find the same version that you used to do the backup.

There are other programs you can use to do backups that don't require the same program to restore files. I use SyncBackFree to backup my files. You can use the same program to restore files, but it's not necessary. You can just copy the files back with Windows Explorer.

Hello, everyone.

I attempted to burn a video file onto a DVD, with Nero Express. However, the software only allows either bup, vob or ifo files. After googling such terms on the web, I came across several forums/communities and whatnot, where people kept saying that Nero Vision is required, in order to convert the files you want, into bup, vob or ifo (I have absolutely zero clue as to why the company behind Nero didn't include Nero Vision in Nero 12's software suite. Because without it, Nero Express is totally useless. But I digress)

I jumped on Nero Vision, but was told by the software that my project could only fit into a DVD-9.

Question 1: I have burnable DVDs for 120 min/4.7gb. Doesn't that mean that even if my project exceeds 120 minutes in length, if it still doesn't exceed the size limit, it's supposed to work? What on earth is a DVD-9, anyways?

Question 2: If you can just power on Nero Vision and immediately get your original file and burn it, why does Nero Express require all this bup, vob, ifo nonsense???

Question 3: What are the major differences between immediately burning your original file onto a DVD, and converting that into the required bup, vob and ifo formats?

Question 4: How would I go about doing that with Nero Vision?

EDIT: Realized that the only way to burn past that time limit (120 min)(My file exceeds 2 hours in length) is to decrease its quality, which I do not want to do. So I should go with the vob, bup, ifo stuff, ri... Read more

I am using Nero BackItUp 2.0.0.0 (Nero Ultra 7) and have been receiving "data verification failed" and "Sector NNNNNN on disc has different content to source" errors recently. On the same PC (Win XP Pro SP2), I got the errors using two different burners (an HP and a Sony) and trying both a DVD/RW and a DVD/R. FYI, I use Shadow Copy for the burn, the burn process completes without error every time (i.e. - the error only occurs during verification), and I have burned to the DVD/RW many times before without incident. More generally, I didn't get data verification errors before so I am wondering why I might be getting them now. Also, could someone tell me what, exactly, "Sector NNNNNN on disc has different content to source" means? I assume it means that the source and target files are not matching in some cases. More importantly, is it a big deal? I ran the ScanDisc in Nero CD-DVD Speed and both DVDs had 100% good sectors (0% damaged or bad). Nero log file attached.

Thanks,

Hi i have Nero 7 and i cannot get it to work properly... It didnt work on 2000, XP and now Vista....
When using Nero Vision 3 to transcode a 900mb avi (DiVX) to a DVD format the Audio slowly goes out of sync with the video ending up about 5mins infront when the DVD finishes... I have installed almost every 3rd party codec to get it to work but im stating to think nero doesnt like me...
I had Nero 6 and funny enough i had no problems the only reason why i upgraded was because to transcode a DVD took 8 hours.. But nero 7 can do it in 1h30min.. Some choice i made...
Has anyone been able to fix this issue or do i need to convert the AVI file into a different format before i convert to a DVD...
Thanks

I lost my CDW there is no ASPI in trying to download one I found it pressed download, unzipped it from the site then nothing happened so I copied & pasted the instructions.
“This file extracts by default to the c:\adaptec\aspi directory. If you have changed this directory, please note the directory you have chosen. For Windows 98, NT 4.0, ME and 2000, use the enclosed ASPIINST.EXE file to install the ASPI layer. For Windows XP, select Start - Run from the menu, and then the Browse button. Locate the INSTALL.BAT file in the directory the files extracted to and select the OPEN button. In the command box, add a space and either XP32 for Pentium I/II/III/IV processors or XP64 for Itanium processors. The command should look like: c:\adaptec\aspi\install.bat XP32 or c:\adaptec\aspi\install.bat XP64. Then select the OK button to run the XP installer.”
Notes: I found the file in MS-DOS batch file 12-11 2001 and am not sure how to proceed these files are under operating systems and there are 4 listed no OK button just press any key to continue.

I've been trying to create a Data CD of all my MP3S, Real audio etc. I have Nero 7 and had lined all the songs up to be burnt, it appeared that all the data was on the CD, however, when I played it back in my CD player only two out of about 30 tracks were on!

Any ideas why this is? I've been mixing real audio and mp3 files but I didn't think that made any difference. Some of the real files have RAM attachments. There was plenty of room left on the CD, I'd only used about 75 MB so far.

Please help!!

You don't tell it to create an audio file, you create a data file. I suspect your CD player doesn't play Real Media files.

I need some help. I am running Windows 98. I have Nero 5 cd burner. Never had any problems with it until now when it comes to reading cds or burning a cd. I burned a cd the other day and everything was fine. My grandmother gave me a cd for my mom to listen to, which came from UK. I placed it into my burner to play it (sometimes I use it instead of my CD rom) and it played fine. Well, I tried burning some songs from my MP3 files onto a cd (and I've used the cds plenty of times before) and it's only burning a few songs. For example, it got to the 14th song then said Failed Writer Error. So, I tried burning the songs again, this time just 10 at a time, made it to the 8th song then said the same thing. I put the cd into my dvd player to see if the songs would play, and they played and stopped where the burning failed. I'm wondering if the UK cd was formatted differently and has messed up my burner? And if so, can it be reformatted or something? I tried reinstalling it and that didn't work either. Someone please tell me what the problem might be. Thanks in advance.

Got a problem with Nero on a couple of my machines.

It is only the scsi setup that seems to be the problem so far and only with Windows xp as the os.

This is what happens.

When you try to burn an mp3 or compilation using Nero(any version) you get the message "there is not enough space on this media".
Although the media is empty and you are only putting a small amount of data on it.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if they know of a fix for it??

If yes, how ?

It is always best to fill out your 'Profile" with your equipment and O/S , you will get faster and better advice.
Did Nero ever work or were you just loading it for the first time.

Some errors could be if the installation didn't go correctly or if you have other software monitoring the drive or stuff like that. I've gotten that error once when I had my burner open lol..but you should try re-install it, may be a problem with the burner if that don't do it

I was using windows 98se. and then I upgraded to windows XP Pro. but the problem is, the ahead nero software doesn't work on the xp.
yes yes yes. I did try un-installing and then RE-installing ahead nero. It just does not work. It gives me those errors. I am pretty sure its just not my computer only.

I haven't come across any upgrades for nero from 98se to xp pro. may be there are and i am not looking deep enough. but why should i have to pay for small software upgrades???
anyways. ALL inputs are appreciated.

Hi. Thankyou for having such a great forum to help. I've used this a couple times with a few little glitches I have had in the past.

Firstly I apologise if this problem has been covered. I have done a pretty detailed search here, and googled it, but haven't found an answer.

I have been one of the lucky ones with running Nero 7 Ultra Edition with no problems for months.

I have created quite a few home movies and slideshows with no problems until yesterday.

When I tried to edit a home movie, the program just closed, no errors, just closed. I found it was when I tried to edit movies with transitions in AFTER I had saved and reopened it. Any movie without transitions, or with transitions but haven't opened are fine. Also still image slideshows with transitions are fine too.

It doesn't seem to care what type of video file it is, only if it has had transitions added to it.

I doubt its a memory problem (the movie I really want to edit isn't that long, I have edited ones much longer). I have downloaded a couple of 3g convertors, so I'm unsure if they have caused a problem with codecs?? (I'm not really up to date with codecs, I need to understand them a bit better before I start playing around with them) All my other media programs, including Windows Movie Maker work fine.

I really don't want to do a system restore unless its absolutely necessary. I haven't tried reinstalling Nero yet. I guess I will have to get the cleaner on the n... Read more

i've downloaded the latest nero in the official site. i've downloaded the english version, but somehow along the way, the license agreement is in japanese. after installation, the program group of nero is in japanese. and the file types that is recognized by nero became japanese too (when you browse explorer in detailed view). somehow the application is in english (the menus and text).

what i'm annoyed is the filetypes on the explorer. so i uninstalled it and now all my images had some Japanese writing as the filetype,so i had togoto"open with" and set it back to opening with windows picture viewer
by the way, i have installed several Asian fonts on my system. winxp. but the general language is english. is that the reason why this is happening?
heres the real problem, i uninstalled it but its still in the add/remove but it doesnt have a program folder. i tried to download it again but when i try to install it, the license agreement is in Japanese (which im sure will lead right back to the same problem). so is there anyway to get it to install in english?
thanks, as usual your help is greatly appreciated

Hi Pals.
I've been having a problem with my Nero 7. While I can burn dvd's without any problem I have a problem when it comes to cd's. Nero usually gives me an error message in Greek:
"Error Dynamic Alignment" (translating from the Greek). This happens on different cd media. Whereas sometimes it burns a cd some other times it doesn't even with the same project. I'm attaching the error log file just in case you good people can understand it, as "It's all Greek to me!!!", even if I am a Greek (hehehehe).
A million anticipated thanks pals.
Cheers.
Damian.

A:Problem With Nero 7

Power calibration error (from your log)

Nero say:

The cause will be either poor media, poor power, or a defective recorder.

Please try the following solutions:
Update the firmware of your recorder. Please check the manufacturer's website for the latest version.
Try another brand of CD-R or CD-RW media.
Try different power connectors, and for recorders, do not share power with other devices. It needs its own power connector. If the error occurs with an external recorder, the power source in the chassis could be the cause. As a test, try to take the recorder out of the external chassis and connect it internal.
Try different configurations, such as taking the CD-ROM to the primary IDE bus as slave and have only the recorder connected to the secondary IDE bus as master.

I had a power outage and when the power came back on I tried to use Nero, which was working fine before the power outage. Each time I try and open nero by clicking the icon on my desktop, nero opens for a brief second and closes on it's on. I have tried to reinstall nero but the problem still exist. I am not having trouble with any applications except for Nero. My anti-virus did find a virus and quarantined it but will not allow me to repair it so it is still in quarantine mode,it is called ia.dll. I am not sure what to do so if any-one can tell me what to do to get my system to running correctly please tell me. By the way I also did a recovery and I was unable to recovery back to the day before the power outage. I am using windows xp and I am on a hp. when I check my task manager it tells me that nero is running and then it says not responding and Nero closes.

I have a suddenly appearing problem with Nero 5.5. My nephew came over last Sunday and copied a couple of CD's which is not unusual. He is very good with computers and causes no problem. Today when i tried to backup the data on my computer the Burner starts out fine and then fails in the burn process. It also seems to take longer to do normal functions and also it will lock up the computer and the only way to get it operating again is to do a reset.

The following messages are displayed during the burn process:

!. Burn process started.
2. No seek complete.
3. Invalid write slate.
4. Could not perform end track.
5. Command sequence error.
6. Could not perform fixation.
7. Burn process failed.

I had another burner that I installed into the computer and got the same results.

I also uninstalled Nero and reinstalled with the exact same results. I belive that something has infected my computer but don't have a clue as to what.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks for any help you have.

Firstly I apologise if this is in the wrong section, couldnt find where else to post it..??..

I have installed Nero 8 essentials and plan to purchase Nero 8 the complete package, used only to copy and back up dvds/music/photo and data file/discs.
I find it quite annoying that Nero has converted all of my music and video clips to the Nero.MOV format, as I would much rather use what Im used of, Windows Media Player.. To use WMP I have to change each file as its used, which to be honest is starting to bug me.
Is there anyway I can alter my music/videos etc to automatically open with WMP??

Or, would I be better deleting Nero altoghter and finding a different program to back my files up??

Any advice, highly appreciated..

Thanks in advance

My problem is that I simply cannot get Nero to record video and sound from the TV card. The TV plays fine in Windows Media player, so I know that is working. I can sometimes get the picture to show up in Nero, but never the sound. When I try to record the video all I get is a still image. I know it is a setup problem of some kind, but for the life of me I can’t get it to work. When I try to play TV through Nero I get a blank screen, and a thousand setting adjustments don’t help. During setup it finds all of the channels so it is at least seeing the signal. Do you have any ideas? System information is in my profile.

A:Whats Better? Nero Express Or Nero 7 Essentials?

"Better" in what way?

Nero Express doesn't bore users who only want to burn...who do not want the entire Nero suite installed (includes burning, backup, etc.) installed on the system.

CD/DVD drives normally only include Nero Express with the drives.

I'm still using Nero 6.6 so I have no clue about Nero 7 Essentials, but I'm sure there is plenty of info at the Nero website on it.

I burned a backup data DVD and checked the box, allow files to be added later. (The data resides on an external hard drive - "E" Drive.) Later, when updating the DVD, Nero would read what was already on the disk to tell me it would be adding x number of files, replacing x number of files, etc.

Two weeks ago, I reformatted the 'C' Drive, and after reinstalling, Nero won't repeat its earlier action. It sees the folder on the DVD, but will not take inventory of it and include the new data from "E" Drive.

I know this sounds confusing, but I'm hoping someone can help me. I have Vista Home on a two-year-old Toshiba laptop.

But apparently it couldn't detect my d:drive.(Help on this would be cool.) Advice on how to use it would be nice. And is there any way i can get my Easy CD Creator to work again? But the last few months, every time I try to burn a CD or DVD, a few minutes into the burning process an error happens and the tray opens. The above error was apparently for a DVD. My first recommendation is always to test using a quality media. For SL DVD, use Verbatim or Taio Yuden. For DL DVD, use Verbatim. After you know your process works with a quality media, then you can experiment with other brands/types to see what works on your hardware.

In this case, you appear to be using CMC media, which is a low quality media.

Ok so here is the deal, at the start of the year I built myself a new computer and with the DVD+/-RW came a copy of Nero. I'm running XP Professional, I have roughly 50GB of free hard drive space, and 1 GB of PC4400 RAM. While I have had it I could burn my CD's and DVD's in a normal time frame and could do other things while they burnt. DVD's have now shot from taking 8 minutes to taking 38 minutes and I can hardly move my mouse. I've been trying everything I could think of over the last week or two trying to fix this myself but I'm now out of ideas. To me I don't see how it would be possible, but around the same time this started happening my friend installed a wireless router (cheap ******* wanted to tap into my high speed) it doesn't seem very likely, but I thought I would throw it in as a possible clue for the puzzle. The drive is a Lite-On SOHW-1633S, and if you need any more information I'd be happy to supply it.

However, Nero 6 does not have any problem.
Also, MP3 does not have any problem with Winamp and other application.

A:Problem with Nero 7.0.5.4-->Audio CD

The written description of sound is so weird, I think you did a good job.

It sounds like you may have to clean up and Defrag the Drive responible for the Cache.Defrag and make sure you have enough space on this drive.

Also do not run other programs while burning( some Processes can cause this)
Shutoff all unnecessary items.
Try reducing the Burn speed , and try a different brand of media.

So I have a .iso file I'd like to put on DVD. I tried Nero, first go around i didnt un-check the verify file content, so once it was done burning it just sat at 0% of "verifying file components". I aborted the the burn and started over again. This time the burn only took 20 minutes and when I ejected the DVD-R from my drive i could see the movie was BURNT into the DVD. I tried poppin it in my multiple DVD players and it was unreadable. I've just tried the burn again with nero and as it was on the final stage of "writing disc" I got a Blue screen physical memory dump crash :/. I'm probably going to give it another go, does anyone know why this is happening?

I'm trying to fix a mate's computer (via email - handy!). The error is this: he tried burning a folder to a CD using Nero (5.5). Instead of burning the files ~5Mbs of PS images it changed the folder "d:\pictures" into
"D:\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures\Pictures"

Containing the files still. Problem is the files are unaccessible and the folders undeletable.

Any idea what caused this? Or any idea how to recover the files from the last "pictures" folder.

Any way this can be deleted?

----------------------------------------------
FYI: The following things have been checked:
- Folder properties ok
- Nero isn't still running
- Hard disk D shows no viruses or sector errors
- DOS and open dialogue box cannot access folder either
- Cant' delete the folder in safe mode via explorer

A:Folder problem cause by nero?

Additional information.

It's possible that the folders cannot be accessed or deleted because the path name is now too long. Is there something that will delete the entire path and data off the hard disk in a more brute force manner?

Hello everyone

I am using Nero Express 6 to copy some DVD's for backup purposes. I am also using DVD43 to overcome the copyright protection.

Here is my problem. Tonight I tried to back up my copy of "The Island." I went through the CD copy option (selecting DVD copier of course). I had about 7GB of free space, and so Nero started copying the image to my HDD.

However, I encountered an error and had to close. Now my C: only has ~2Gb of space left and so I cannot try and copy again.

What I need to do is somehow delete the image that Nero had previously stored in order to try again. Does anyone know where Nero Express ususally stores these images? I have tried shutting down but to no avail.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Apologies if this topic has been covered, I couldn't find anything using the search facility.

Basically it looks as though Nero 7 does not recognize my dvd drive. I can encode/set up menus/chapters etc., without any problem but when I get to the 'burn' option at the end it only displays "image recorder" as a device to write to. I can save a disc image to my hdd but encounter the same problem if I try to burn that to a dvd-r as a dvd movie.

The info on my d: drive is HL-DT-ST dvd+-rw GWA4164B & I'm using XP Home Edition.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as (I think) I've gone through every possible option/setting in the software.

Thanks in advance.

Launch Nero and run the Nero InfoTool to see if it detects your dvd drive - it may be that Nero has "lost" the d drive even though it is still ok in Windows ( happens to me on rare occasions) .

A:Nero Burning Problem

hi maspar,

I had many burn failures with my 1st CD burner years ago; my problem was I had bought a batch of 'economy' CD's.

Have you tried an alternate brand to what you are using now?
Also, is this from new or just started happening, if the latter have you tried cleaning the burner (with a cleaning CD , not anything else).

I have the latest version of the Nero Smart Start software which came with my Mad Dog DVD drive. I have used Nero Smart to format all of my disk drives to use as reusable disks many times in the past without problems. Lately, however, whenever I try to access photographs I have archived on both DVD-RW and/or CD-RW in order to edit and save the images under a new file name, I am getting 'read only' folder messages. Now I can no longer edit these images or move them to other disks. What's going on? How do I correct this problem?

I am in dire need of someone's expertise in resolving this problem, as I cannot edit and resave these important images or transfer them to other disks for mailing to my employer, etc.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Charlie

A:Problem With Nero Smart

Why can't you copy the files to your hard drive? What error message do you get?
It sounds like you are using the INCD part of Nero - formatting an RW disc so you are able to treat it as a big floppy, enabling dragging/dropping/deleting etc. to and from the disc. If you are then this is not the most reliable way to store important data.
Can you clarify the options you pick in Nero Smart Start to verify what type of discs you are creating. CDRW and DVDRW discs are always re-usable, no formatting required, unless as I say, you are formating the disc to be used with INCD.

For some reason, after installing the latest nero 7 update on Vista, I get this silly nero update thing whenever Windows Media Player is opened. If I attempt to update, it says that the update could not be started. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I've Nero burning rom 5.0 software now but I looked at the Sonic RecordNow software older 7.5 since Roxio bought the company from sonic and it's screwed. Where do I buy sonic 7.5 software on-line?
Thanks

A:Nero Burning problem

Unless they dont have any copies left you could always contact Sonic and ask if they would sell you one. That worked for me one time. http://www.sonic.com/products/Consumer/

Another place I would check would be e-bay... you never know when someone is going to upgrade and no longer want the older version and try to make a few bucks to offset the new cost. Just a thought.

Spent about 3 hours scratching my head over a friends computer this evening. He had no software with his CDR/W, so took my oem NERO 5.5.9.9 up with me (works fine on my machine). His runs XPhome on 512Mb RAM, MSI6390 mobo, 110Gb IDE Hard drive, 16/40 DVD ROM and 52/24/52 CDR/W with Athlon 2400+
Everything runs ok, although defrag takes an age to analyse the drive and it's only 15% used.
Installed NERO no problems, but when opened it can only find a virtual drive, it doesn't detect the CDR/W. This is in Wizard and Express mode. Can write ISOs to hard drive but cannot burn them. Drive reads CD-R and CD-R/W with no problems. I'm stumped, anyone out there got any clues?
HDD is primary master, opticals are both on secondary, can't remember which is master. Did try uninstalling and reinstalling twice but no difference.
Cheers for any help here, I've found it very useful with some of my problems in the past just surfing the archives!

A:CDR/W problem with NERO 5.5.9.9 under XP home.

my creative burner came with a version of nero which only suppots creative drives. if your drive is a creative labs that might be the issue. also my other burner must be the master on the ide cable and the settings or it wont be recognized by the roxio software. cable select and in master on cable is not good enough. just so you know nero has a free 30 day trial you could just download on his machine too solve any version issues. the new install will tell you if your burner is not compatible in the process.
good luck

You need to visit the Nero site and redownload the installer since the one you have is obviously corrupt.

Running XP and Nero 7 .
Problem is that when burning a CD from sound files located on my hard drive, the burn process activates and works for about the first 30% of the burn process then stalls.....the burn process appears to be going on ( the little disc transfer graphic keeps working ) but the progress %'age stops.
The burnt CD only has the first few tracks successfully burnt but every other track is on the CD but with no sound..totally silent , yet the track count shows that there is a track recorded.
Also, when I try to abort the process the whole system stalls again and I have to re-start my computer
I tried removing the Nero programme and re-loading the Nero software...didn't work.

I also defrag my computer prior to burning and that made no difference either..

I purchased a brand new computer in order to burn my home movies to DVD. I have captured and downloaded video and have made snazzy movies with Windows Movie Maker. I am unable to save and burn to Nero because the file is not understood. I have tried saving as DV-AVI file, this does not work either. It also says no compatable file found. I am at my wits end. Please help.

Hi: I'm having a hard time with Nero Vision Express3, version 3.0.27. I've downloaded and installed the latest version two or three times, but it does the same thing. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled Nero, to no avail. Tried installing it on another computer, still the same thing. Here's my problem: I took some motion pictures with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20, downloaded them to my hard drive (they are in .mov format), and tried to put them on a DVD+RW (using NEV). The clips have great audio for exactly half of the duration of each clip, and then it quits. If I play the files with QuickTime player or Windows Media Player, the audio is fine through out the entire clip. I can even put them on a CD as individual files and they work fine. It's just trying to put them on a DVD+RW or +R with Nero Vision Express that doesn't work (even in the preview feature within NVE). My system is Windows 2000 SP4 (NTFS), AMD Athalon XP-A (Barton core) 2600+ 2300MHz, Asus A7N8X-X motherboard, 160GB Maxtor HD NTFS, 512 2700RAM, Liteon DVDRW SHOW-812S, Nero 6.6.0.8, Memorex DVD+RW/R media, Ritek DVD+RW/R media, Audio Adapter: nVIDIA MCP2 - Audio Codec Interface, Radeon 9200(128MB), Norton Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Microsoft anti spyware, (all of which I disabled thinking it might be them). Can you help me please?
Thank you for listening

I am trying to burn a cd using Nero. When I am ready to burn, Nero gives me the following message: [Drive is being used by another application] My Cd-Rw which is my drive D is not being used by another app. My Cd-rw works on all other apps. It has worked perfectly with Nero until this morning. I reinstalled
Nero thinking that would solve the problem, but it did not help. I am stuck. Hope someone can help.

A:Nero Burning Rom problem

Do you have a formated CD-RW in the drive? If so then INCD would have the drive is use. You could also try disabling XP's Recording Support, if you have XP, by going to My Computer right click on the drive and go to the Recording Tab.

hi guys i have encountered with a problem while writing a DVD(data) with NERO

i was not able to change the speed of the DVD writing with nero 6(i even tried 7 n 9) the max speed of writing was always 12x..along with 2x,4x,8x being shown. it shows tht 12x is the maximum... so when i write data in DVD the process starts reaches 1% and a failure message is shown..n the process stops.
i even tried writing at different speeds like 8x.when i started the process its the same result the process was a failure. now the writing speed options are limited to 8x,4x,2x..i wonder where the 12x option has gone!!!!

Please help me guys!!!
