I wanted to get an opinion or a knowlege of what seetings the laptop needs to be, for iCloud to function properly? Maybe the settings on the other end as well, have to be adjusted to accept a PC system?
At this point, I am having screen resolution & color issues. Seems when I open the iCloud program, the screen switches & the colors & resolution go to a negative & cartoonish appearance.
Putting the feelers out there now.
Up til now, I have been happily syncing my iPhone4 and iPad2 with MS Outlook 2007 via my PC x iTunes.
Somehow, I recall choosing an option somewhere to use iCloud "cos it sounded OK" but now when I try to sync the devices on iTunes, it tells me that I cannot do this anymore as it is being done on iCloud and I will have duplicate contacts and all sorts of dire problems.
At the risk of being old fashioned, how do I get rid of iCloud and go back to the procedure first mentioned in Para one ..........?
I feel much happier with it and not having vast numbers of contacts, appontments etc. would prefer to leave iCloud out of it for the moment.
How do I do this thanks?
I switched from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro, so I could utilize the iCloud that comes with my iPad & iPhone 5. It was said I could sync all the devices; which I can, but the colors invert when I click "Open iCloud Control Panel".
The colors invert after the monitor changes to another phase & the screen flips. I went through the trouble shooting prompts & I thought that it was going to clear up. It didn't.
I know that it wants me to setup Outlook, but I already use Thunderbird?
What advice can anyone give from this forum.
Thanks ahead of time.
And I attached the screenshot to illustrate the color change.
I did try the 16bit setting.
Still no bites?
I went ahead & called the maker of the video card, NVIDIA & they said it was an OS problem. Of course Microsoft said it was Apple's & then not to be the only one fixing the blame, Apple said it was a Microsoft problem.
Anyway, took it to the local computer nerd store & they say that iCloud is changing the resolution. The service tech went right in & adjusted the resolution through iCloud, but when clicked on again, the resolution & the colors invert.
I wonder if it makes a difference of what browser that is used, to download iCloud on?
My boss and I used me.com very successfully for his calendar and contacts, but awhile back when he upgraded he was moved to icloud.com, and I can no longer access the site from work. It is not blocked by the firewall, and the browser (firefox) works fine going to any other site. The error I get is: The proxy server is refusing connections.
Nothing has been changed on the browser settings and the browser works fine otherwise. I'm lost without access to this site.
I can get to that site with both my Opera and Firefox browsers but, when I do, it makes it clear that I will need a device (iphone or iPad?) with iOS 5 or a Mac computer with OS X to setup my Apple ID and access it.
I don't know anything about proxy servers but it sounds like it is something your workplace setup or ISP may be using. Is there anyone in your office that deals with techie stuff who might be able to help?
Another possibility is that using the Windows version of Apple's Safari browser might help, but that's complete guesswork on my part; http://www.apple.com/safari/ (although it does state that it works with iCloud).
I'm trying to install iCloud on my Windows XP Pro (SP3) PC. Officially it's supported only for Vista and later, but this hack is widely claimed to work:1. Open iCloudSetup.exe file and unzip its files including iCloud.msi2. Navigate to and open the iCloud.msi with Orca.3. In the left table select LaunchCondition. Then change in the right table ?VersionNT> = 600? to ?VersionNT> = 200? and Save.4. Run modified iCloud.msi and install.5. Run iCloud Control Panel, located in the Windows Control Panel, and set up as you want.I tried that promising solution in vain. It seemed to successfully install iCloud, but whenever I try to run it I get this obscure errorhttps://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u...After much fruitless searching I've not found out how to proceed from there and would appreciate advice please.-- Terry, East Grinstead, UK

I have a W7 laptop, an iPad & a MacBook Air and I am thinking of storing photos on one on the above mentioned as a safe guard. I have absolutely no idea at all how this iCloud etc stuff works as it is beyond me in my old age. So what I am looking for is advice on which one I should use and how to go about it. From what I have read One Drive gets the best write up but I would rather take opinions here from members who have had experience & know what they are talking about. Thanks for any help here.
I use and like DropBox. They have a free version with no limitations except amount of storage. I pay $9.99 per month for the basic since I have a lot of photos and some videos. I back up almost all files I create. And you can share files with others. Without them having access to your folders by a simple right click to create a link like this one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ev6a7mgbohlh2o1/2015-07-11%2018.54.52.mp4?dl=04 more replies
iCloud services is using 99,700 K of memory. That seems excessive. Is it? What should I do to fix it?
I have not updated iTunes in a long time. To update it today I had to launch a clean boot. iCloud services is now using 33,000K. Is that normal?
During the update to iTunes a message "could not start Apple mobile devices services" was received. I hit retry a couple of times then I hit ignore. Is that a major issue?
OK, I installed iCloud on my PC. I created a document in Pages on my iPad. When I go to the iCloud manager on my PC, the document is listed as being there, but I can't open it. So what good is it to me that it's there? Is there some way to open it that I'm not getting?
OK, I install iWorks. Now I can upload the document to iWorks, and open it and read it on my PC. But I can't edit it. So OK, I can download it in Word and edit it. But now I don't know how to save those edits to the original document in iWorks, so I can have them on my iPad.
What am I missing? What am I doing wrong?
Is there a way (when I send a link to someone so they can download my files) that they can download a whole folder, rather than image by image. I've made a folder and put photos in that folder. I sent a link to myself to see how it worked. When the link is clicked, it takes me to the images (rather than just the folder itself). From there, I can only download each one, one by one. This would take quite some time to do as most of what I'm uploading in a folder has as many as 50 images/photos.
Any feedback is welcome! Thank you!
Yes, this makes sense. Thank you so much!

I have a new HP laptop with Windows 8. I have downloaded iTunes and iCloud and both appear in my Downloads folder - but I can't get them to run/install. When I right click and select "run as administrator" I get the pop up box to allow changes to the computer. I click YES but then nothing ever happens. If I try to delete the download I get an error message saying "can't do as the file is open in iTunes installer.
I have windows 7 and outlook 2010 on a PC. When linking to icloud and enabling it to synch with icloud, icloud took the contacts off my computer (at least it seems that way). In trying to resolve the issue and talking with Apple and Omnitech, a variety of solutions were tried. I now have all my contacts in the right categories showing up on my PC, but it appears that they are not on the PC but in the cloud. My goal is to copy one of my categories, mailing list, into a new separate folder in the folder list in order to use it to merge with Word and make labels. In the past, I could right click on the mailing list category and drag it to the new folder that I created. It would then ask if I wanted it to copy the file there or move it. I copied it to the new folder and then was able to merge it with word. Currently, when I try to drag the file to the folder, it indicates that this action can not be done. It appears to me that the reason this is occurring is that the contact file is in the cloud not on the computer. ?? I would like to create a file with my contacts on the PC with the contacts in the right categories and not duplicating what is currently showing up from the cloud. I believe once I do this I will again be able to copy the category to the new folder.More replies
Retrieve your photos from iCloud
Step 1: Open your browser and enter icloud. com and log in your iCloud account
Step 2: Click Photos.
Photo Stream will only sync the photos taken on your iPhone or iPad after you set it up and turn it on. Go to Settings > iCloud > Photos > Then turn on My Photo Stream.
Restore your photos via FoneLab for iOS.
1. Launch your program and connect computer with it.
2. Choose from iCloud and log in.
3. Download the backup file you need.
4. Select the photos.
5. Click recover.
Hello! it's posible remove this icon from this pc?? Thank you!
I'm not sure but you can try this utility to see if that works for you:
WinAero: This PC Tweaker
It seems to work on removing (or hiding) protected folders or creating new ones in a normally protected area.
Good luck and I hope this information is helpful.
I would like to know how I could get my iCloud calendar on the Calendar metro app. I have already synched it to Outlook and no problem.
I also added my iCloud account on the mail metro app and it seems to work fine, but when I go to calendars, the only one I have is the Windows one.
I have been looking all over the Internet for solutions but none have worked for me so far...
Hello. I recently uninstalled iCloud from my computer, but there still is an icon in Control Panel. Any thoughts on how to remove it?
You could probably start by knowing for a fact that iCloud is located in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\".
Another way could be reinstalling iCloud and then uninstalling it again.
(THE LINK FOR ICLOUD'S INSTALL IS RIGHT HERE)
Have tried to download the two updates to Itunes, but each time the download is rejected. My next step will be to delete ITunes and then re-install, however I do not want to lose all of the downloaded material.
Any way around this? This is my 4th-5th attempt to download these updates.
Uninstalling iTunes does not remove the downloaded content. See here for more information: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
After trying to connect my daughters reminder app to sync on icloud with the desktop entries, the keychain access appeared on the admin user account. The keychain logins keep appearing. I went to system preferences to turn off the keychain. Each time I go into keychain, icloud, or internet access, it freezes. I am not able to pull up safari. I have tried several things with no solution.
We have a Mac desktop on OSX 10.10.5 .
I cannot follow STEP 1: Remove adware and browser hijackers from Safari, Google Chrome and Firefox because safari won't respond. I can't do STEP 2: Remove adware with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac because the desktop won't access safari.
I have no idea if my issue is related to a malware issue. If it's not a malware problem, please accept my apology. I'm really not sure what else to try and thought I would ask here in the event someone knows of a solution.

How to solve this without knowing what error is causing this?
I have tried reinstalling Office and iCloud (run as administrator) but no luck. Is Windows 10 compabtible for iCloud? Apple says no and Microsoft says yes.......
How could i fix this problem?
It did worked before, but it slowed down my computer so much that i decided to reinstall the Office package. Everything worked ok after the reinstall and Office programs are running ok. Only I can't get iCloud to sync with Outlook anymore.
Thanks for the help.
I have this problem, also. Would appreciate any help. It worked initially, but sync was not working. I then signed out in order to sign back in, but not possible.1 more replies
I have Pages loaded on my iPad and iPod Touch and am having problems in getting documents to sync between the two devices via iCloud.
Both devices are running iOS 5.
If I create a document on say my iPod Touch it saves the document which I can see ( a blue status bar moves a cross the document) also the top right portion of the document peels back showing an arrow which I assume meant that the document was being backed up to the Cloud.
When I fire up Pages on my iPad however no document is there. I'm not sure what is going wrong. If I create the document on my iPad to start with then,as before, it does not sync accross to my iPod Touch. In addition when saving documents on iPad there is not the blue status bar as there was when saving on iPod Touch.
Is there something I am doing wrong as everything I have seen seems to show that the syncing of documents in Pages via the Cloud should be automatic. I should also say that I have also set Pages to work via the Cloud in the settings menu of both devices.

Yep, looked everywhere on TSG but can't seem to find a suite dedicated to iCloud issues - this is as close as I can get but apologies if it is off subject here ..................... more than happy to move it if one of the Mods can tell me where to go!
Anyhow, just a quick post to express my total lack of understanding with iCloud - part of a big club from what I can see on Google!
I use iCloud for all my calendars and have been using the different colour calendars for specific events etc. such as say "red" for birthdays. "green" for appointments and to date have had no problems.
After a recent windows update (I think) I now find that ALL the colour calendars are visible on the left hand side of the calendar page when viewed on Outlook 07 with every one of the seven colours all having a tick in the box inside them and therefore of course displaying every one of them on the main viewing window on the right side.
I don't even have my default "calendar" anymore though the "anniversaries" calendar shows everything I have scheduled. Naturally, as I "uncheck" each colour calendar on the left, those on the right are removed PLUS their contents from what appears to be my default calendar (anniversaries)
How do I get back to just having the one basic iCloud calendar showing whilst still having the coloured ones in the background should I wish to just pull ONE of them up?
This does not appear a great explanation but hope... Read more
I'd try unchecking everything but the icloud in the top batch. Problem you may suffer is when adding appointments in Outlook, it may want to default to the top calendar, but if you are making an appointment in the icloud calendar itself, you should be ok.
Quite while ago, iCloud was installed and updated on both Windows 7 and windows 8.1 computer.
I see both iCloud drive and iCloud photo folders in windows 7. But iCloud drive (its icon and folder) is missing in windows 8.1 computer. In iCloud control panel on windows 8.1, I could not tick in the box in front of the iCloud drive. Sometime I could tick it. but the check mark disappears when the icloud control panel is re-open. Any suggestion would appreciated.
I believe that my Email account is too large in size since and I can only receive emails. I can not send emails. I contacted Yahoo and that is what they think has happened. I tried to find the size of data on my email account with yahoo.ca to no avail. I thought that when I download the icloud that it would fix the problem. However, before I do so, I would like to know what information I would loose upon downloading the Microsoft icloud.

Donald B. W. Clark your yahoo email account is supposed to have 1TB storage, so are you sure your storage is full? And you should still be able to send emails. Try deleting some older ones
icloud is a service from Apple, not Microsoft. Can you check what it is that you're actually looking for?

I use Google Drive, Box Sync, Dropbox and iCloud, but I am running out of disk space on my "C" Drive. It looks like my C Drive has 216 GB and I have an E Drive of 931 GB. My C Drive is almost full at 196 GB and made me turn off/unsync many of my Google Drive folders so I could save some of my files for work. My E Drive has almost 900GB available. I think I have my Dropbox syncing to E Drive, but I can't choose how to sync Google Drive to E Drive....It points it automatically to C Drive. My Mac seems way easier than this $***...ugh, what a pain in the *$$...why do I even have two drives seperated like this?! Since I have Office 2013 w/ Outlook installed, I also have the preinstalled basic Outlook that comes to Win 8. So I guess according to iTunes I need to uninstall the generic Outlook, yet I do not see it under the control panel, where you modify or delete apps.
I am running iCloud on multiple PC's. Everything was fine until I had it running on two 8.1 PC's, then I started having problems.
In total, iCloud was running on one Win 7 Pro PC and two Windows 8.1 PC's. My theory is that the two Windows 8.1 PC's were syncing via iCloud and Skydrive (or Onedrive) which is set up by default. But they were able to read each other's settings okay. But Win 7 doesn't have the same sync settings, so the bookmarks were being written in 8.1 and then multiplying in Win 7.
I'm not sure, but this is my theory. Running on all Win 7 is okay. Running on all Win 8.1 seems okay. But combining the two OS's with iCloud seems to cause some problems.
Anyone have any ideas on this?
The only thing I would look at is to only use one cloud service if that is your suspect.
OneDrive Integration in Windows 8.1 - Enable or Disable
I am not hinting to use icloud but that is simple to stop by just removing the application. If you chose to use icloud this is how to disable onedrive.
i, the ****up wonder deleted my icloud contacts in outlook, i had it appear in some sort of miracle i cant remember too clearely how, but it wont. I did it without the 3rd party softwares, there must be a way to make it happen again !
anybody know how lol?
y? it,s fixed...
icloud from control panel then:
So...I can connect the iCloud account just fine in account settings. However, it doesn't show up in Calendar or Mail as an account I can view, yet it still shows up as properly connected in Settings. Suggestions? A quick google hasn't helped as it just suggested workarounds that result in read-only (not ideal) or things Ive already tried with no luck.
Posting solution here. If you have 2-step verification enabled on iCloud, you must log into iCloud -> account -> security/password -> generate app specific password and use that for Windows. It synced immediately after deleting and relinking iCloud account with that new app specific password.
After installing Windows 10 I lost my Icloud contacts and calendar ability in Outlook . This is the error message :

Hi and Welcome to TSF!
Windows 10 was released today, you'll have to give it a little bit of time to allow software developers to update their programs.

I have a new Windows 10 laptop and I have migrated most everything from my previous laptop that I wanted and everything has been working pretty good up to now. I use Outlook 2007 for POP3 email and had installed in on the new LT and moved my PST and all was working good with email, contacts and calendar after much help from here: https://forums.techguy.org/threads/...le-on-new-windows-10-pc.1163278/#post-9186499. Yesterday I decided to move my iTunes from the old LT to the new LT and I installed ITunes and ICloud on the new LT and synced it with my iPhone 6. Thought all was well until this morning when I'm checking my POP3 email account. All my email downloaded no problem and I was able to read everything. When I went to send email I found that iCloud had emptied my Contacts and replaced it with iCloud contacts which essentially is the ones that I had on my phone. (My iPhone contacts are still there.) If I click the "To" field in the email it does bring up my outlook contacts that I had on my computer before the iCloud debacle and it does let me select them. I am running outlook 7 windows 7.
In the past, the problem was that the send date above emails in the to send folder said "none" and the email topic was bold faced, and not regular in italics. It will not send.
I resolved this [and SHOULD HAVE WRITTEN IT DOWN] by going to the trust center and I believe disabling the icloud item.
HOWEVER: subsequent to all this, I finally figured out how to sync my outlook calender [not outlook contacts, cloud contacts and iphone5 phone contacts are synced.
HOWEVER, the original problem is back, and windows shows that only calendar in icloud is synced, not "calendar" and not whatever "calendar from icloud in icloud" [just uncheck both and I eliminate dupes]
IF i start screwing around in the trust center and disabling the "icloud outlook ad-in", which I know played a role in getting the send to work, will I eliminate that "calendar in icloud" that continues to works so well? And if so, how do I get it back to sync with iphone 5?
Like you I am running Outlook 7 under Windows 7, 64 bit, and have version 3, the latest, for the iCloud control panel. And, like you, I have long ceased to attempt any kind of sync for anything other than the calender. If you go into the trust center and disable the icloud add in outlook will cease to sync with icloud. Indeed, only yesterday I ran a test: I added an appointment to my iphone and it did not appear on my outlook calendar. I had disabled the icloud add in before it was the only way to get anything to send from the outbox. As soon as I re enabled it the appointment appeared, only now I had the email issue.
It is interesting to note that when I went into the account settings in outlook to be sure the problem wasn't there, I was able to send the test message without issue, so it have to believe that all my pop server numbers are correct and the problem lies with the add in. Apple support blame Microsoft, who blames Apple. As with this entry, no almost a year old, I have never gotten any answers from this forum.
Should you have learned how to handle the issue, please let me know.
I disabled a number of Services in Windows 7 as an optimization step using services.msc Doing so stopped iCloud synchronization with my iPhone 4s. Rather than reset them all, I'd like to see if anyone knows exactly which services are needed for iCloud to function. Thanks in advance.
Bonjour, iPod Service, and AppleMobileDevice. I recommend not to disable Services (definitely not following BlackViper's guide or if you do not know what your doing) it is not safe.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate and MicroSoft Office 10 on my desktop computer, use Outlook for email and contacts, used to use the Outlook calendar till I got an iPhone 5S a few months ago, so now my calendar is the iCloud calendar, viewed in Outlook. The notes section of iCloud calendar entries uses very tiny font that is barely visible. I cannot find a way to change the font in the iCloud calendar in Outlook. There is no "format text" tab in the iCloud calendar to choose font type and size, like there is in the Outlook calendar. I spoke to Apple, who said this is a MicroSoft issue. I don't find anything regarding this when I Google "font size icloud calendar". I realize I can highlight the notes and make them larger with the mouse so I can read them on the desktop, but I would prefer to set my default font as a larger size.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I appreciate any help I can get.
It does seem that this is a problem with the iCloud & Outlook. The forum below discusses this issue & there are no really complete solutions, but there are some work arounds that you could try.
I can not add my iCloud account in Manage Accounts. It says it cannot find info. My iCloud User Name and Password are correct.
I would like to sync my iCloud calender to my two Windows 10 PC's and my Microsoft Windows 10 phone (when it arrives).
I have tried with both the PC's.
Grateful for all help. Thank you.
I currently use Outlook 2010 because I have a paid license but I'm willing to upgrade.
This works Ok with iCloud but what I don't like is that I can't make my icloud calendar the default in Outlook so I don't get reminders on my PC. What I end up doing is manually copying critical appointments from my icloud calendar to my Outlook default calendar if I want to be sure to get a reminder on my PC!. This isn't ideal though. Does anyone have a better solution? I read that the latest Outlook 2016 doesn't sync at all so I can't upgrade Office. I wish MS and Apple would decide to work together instead of trying to defeat each other!!
I believe icloud will sync with windows 10 mail and calendar apps - is that true?
I've also heard of emclient being good but haven't tried it.
I'd really appreciate any input.

Somewhere in the update/install process of Windows 10 (and re-installing Outlook 2007), I lost my contacts in my Outlook account. The contacts remain in my iCloud account and on my iPhone. Can some please instruct me on how to import all the contacts back in to my desktop Outlook 2007 application?More replies
When I was using iCloud (I stopped because it gave me too many headaches) I deleted a recurring event and now I keep getting hundreds and hundreds of Appointment Series deletions showing in my Deleted folder.
If I do a search for one of the words in the appointment name, then delete all those items from the Deleted folder, they are not deleted and simply reappear.
Every once in a while, I have to go to my Deleted folder to find something but my deleted emails are scattered amongst these hundreds of Appointment Series deletions.
I would sure appreciate your help!!
Thanks so much.....Richard
I have switched to Windows 10 for mail and calendars as Outlook was taking too long to load. I have set up my gmail account for mail and all is working fine. However I use iCloud for my calendars and want to see my iCloud calendars in Windows 10.
However I am having problems setting up my iCloud account in Windows 10. I enter the relevant details but the "looking for your settings" process never completes. Could this be because I use the same email address for Gmail and my Apple ID?
I suspect I'm making a basic error but would welcome any suggestions. Thank you.
Hello knowledgeable ones:
Until last week I was using outlook 2003, an older versions of itunes, and an ipod, and was able to back up my outlook contacts and calender through itunes and right to the ipod, no problem.
Now, however, I have had to upgrade everything so they can handshake correctly. This has meant going to Outlook 2007, the latest itunes, an iphone 5, and the icloud. My entire goal is to have the contacts in outlook match the contacts in both the cloud and the phone.
In using the icloud control on both of these, I now have the following: a variety of calenders in my outlook with names like calender in icloud, home in icloud, and my calender, all in lovely pastel shades. The phone has one calendar with only the occasionally dupes on a given date.
The phone, however, is a disaster, with as many as three dupes of the same name. Looking at Outlook, I have a slew of contacts, some dupes, many that I though i had deleted from outlook. Also two categories of contacts, icloud and my contacts, with sub-directories in each. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that the contacts tab under my contacts was completely blank following a sync to the cloud, only to then find the other five versions, which, of course, I would like to have agree with each other. The icloud interface on line shows dupe contacts as well.
I understand that one person may not have all the answers to all the parts of this; I am on an iphone forum as well, trying to figure ... Read more

Windows update has not been able to download updates for some time. I am also having difficulty accessing secure websites (on any browser) such as icloud, paypal, and capital one. I will input the address and get the spinning wheel of death until finally I get a message that says "this site can't be reached" or "took too long to respond". After clicking reload like 7-10 times it will finally take me to the website. I have icloud downloaded directly to my pc and it can't access the internet just like windows update. The only way to get to icloud is to go online and click reload a million times. It takes me forever to pay my bills! Please help I have a life that I would like to get back too. I miss my kids and I think my husband left me but I haven't been able to check yet.
Checked with hubby...he said as long as get the dishes done he was okay.
Let's see if there is some adware or malware causing the problem.
Use CCleaner to remove Temporary files, program caches, cookies, logs, etc. Use the Default settings. No need to use the
Registry Cleaning Tool...risky. Pay close attention while installing and UNcheck offers of toolbars....especially Google.
After install, open CCleaner and run by clicking on the Run Cleaner button in the bottom right corner.

I tried to used (in this sequence):

In the following i'm posting the log of the programs (Hijackthis file included)

Up until just a lttle bit earlier today, my Win 8.1 mail app could get my email in my icloud mail account.
Now it doesn't.
Prompts for the password but rejects it. The password I give is correct as I used it to go to icloud.com and logged in fine. Must be due to the new security that Apple has started, but I don't know how to get it working with the mail app.
While I understand the need for good security, it seems like too many things are now set up for 2 step verification. One and done should do it, but I'm finding that not to be the case too many times.
I had installed the icloud software for Windows and allowed that to set icloud mail into Outlook 2013. That still works just fine, just not the 'modern' mail app.
Hey, guy, how do you back up your iPhone(photos, videos, important messages etc)? iCloud only provides us 5G space for free, and iTunes is complicated to operate. Do you have any good idea?
Windows should be able to get all your photos and videos off your iPhone with no problem.
For contacts, I think these will be synced to iCloud, but any contact in your iPhone is pulled from existing contact lists in associated accounts already. So if you linked a Gmail account with all your contacts in it for example, you wouldn't have to do anything. There are free apps that will generate an actual contacts file for you though. I usually do both just to be sure I don't lose any important numbers.
Same goes for messages. There are free apps that can generate a file to export and restore from.
iTunes is good if you want a "one-stop shop" for backing stuff up, but I don't blame you for not wanting to use it.
