If this is in the wrong place, I apologize, unsure if this is a video card or monitor issue. I would have to guess monitor.

I know this has been asked in 100 different threads, trust me, I read a majority of them. None of them have been answered that I could find, but there are so many different errors..

I can't re-create it so I can't tell you the EXACT error.. it happens when it feels like it.. so next time it happens I will let you know the exact error.. but for now..

This happens when I am playing a video game... screen flashes black.. then goes completely black for about 20 seconds, comes back up.. then in my taskbar I get a notice that "Driver display has stopped working and recovered" and then everything is fine for the rest of the night.

This was happening on my last computer as well, drove me up a wall.. I now have a completely new system. New everything.. except monitor. The only piece of hardware that has stayed the same is the monitor. I am getting this error again.

I did a complete fresh install on my video card drivers which seems to be the general reply when someone is having this issue. I followed the instructions on how to do a fresh install. Still does this. It's a completely different video card now, so I just don't think that's the issue. Windows is giving me this error, not the monitor though. I am unsure what could be the problem.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this question or even it's the right site to ask it, but I'm at my wits end on this issue. right now on diablo 2 on line game there are some bad things going on. no one seems to know what's going on and blizzard isn't tell us anything.

everyone keeps loosing their signal, we keep getting ''signal interupted'' messages. all we have to go on is rumor and here say, no one knows for sure what's happening.

if you could point me in the right dirrection or perhaps you already know about this issue, any info would sure be helpful.

I have friends who experience compatibility issues quite often, so I'll give them your address from now on. thanks for any help you can offer.

Greeetings!
I recently purchased on-line a WinXP Box: Refurbished, as it turns out, not manufacture refurbished. I knew I was taking a risk but for $300.00-hey. Anyway, after a few weeks, sure enough...major error:

SYSTEM HALTED!
NMI: Parity Check/Memory Parity Error

and it is deteriorating. It seems to be heat related...if I leave it off overnight, it runs okay for a few hours or so. Anyway, I was wondering if there is
1) A checklist for correcting this-for example, making sure all cards are seated etc.
2) Might a bad video card cause such a problem?
3) Any diagnostics for isolating the faulty part, ram, etc?

Finally, if it turns out to be a motherboard...would it make sense just to replace that? Can I essentially take out the old mb, and replace it, load the drivers and go?

Thanks for your help again.

I am trying to install the free version of the MS Expressions Encoder 4 on my Windows 10 PC. What I want to do is to do a video of my desktop. I understand this application does this.

As bad luck would have it, it is refusing to install. I understand there is a 2-stage installation of the app: one for the codec, and one for the application. It chokes on the first stage.

Code:

Stack:
at Microsoft.WindowsInstaller.Installer.InstallProduct(String packagePath, String commandLine)
at XSetup.MsiPackage.ConfigureNewInstall(Product product)
at XSetup.Product.ConfigureNewProduct()
I could have sworn the progress bar went past the codec installation, but that does not seem to be the case according to the message above.

I could give the full output, but it is quite long. This is just the error message. The web page for the app says the system requirements are Windows 7 down to XP SP3. Am I wasting my time installing this on Windows 10, or is there a fix?

I encounter the following error when running an Access 2003 MDE application.

"Function is not avaiable in expressions in query expressions".

The VBA functions this error refers to are "InStr" and "Format" which have been used within 2 queries.

The application works fine on the developement PC which has a full version of Access 2003 installed.

The PC in question runs Windows XP, Office 2003 Standard and Access 2003 runtime. I've also installed MDAC 2.8 which is the version the original MDB uses.

Seeing that the PC has only the runtime Access installed, I'm unable to check if there are any references missing.

Even running the following code from within a command button to see which references are missing produces an error.

Dim ref As Reference
Dim strOut As String

For Each ref In Access.References
strOut = strOut & vbCrLf & ref.Name & IIf (ref.IsBroken, " Missing", "OK ") & vbCrLf & ref.FullPath & vbCrLf
Next ref

MsgBox strOut

I get the following error when trying to run this:

"The expression On Click you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: There was a problem referencing a property or method of the object."

Has anyone encountered a similar problem or have any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

A:Access 2003 Runtime Error - Function not available in expressions

The reference libraries are more currnet on the development PC than the production PC. I had the very same problem this week and it is pretty easy to fix. Open your DB on the production PC giving you the error, go to the modules section and go to New module. At the top of the VB window go to Tools > Reference. THere should be a listing that states "not installed" or something to that effect. Unchck the entry and clost the VB editor and open the db again.

Hi, (using Access 2003)

I'm having trouble with multiple IIf expressions in a query that calculates number of days between date fields. I keep getting error messages about either the wrong number of functions or incorrect syntax. I'm self-taught so I'm not sure if I'm just missing something small or if I'm doing it all wrong. Below is the expression, any help would be much appreciated!!

DaysBetween: (IIf(IsNull([PLBReassessed1RTBMDate] And (IsNull([Reasessment1Type])),[ClosedDate]-[HomeVisitDate],[ClosedDate]-[PLBReassessed1RTBMDate]))))
Basically what I'm trying to get at is if the [PLBReassessed1RTBMDate] AND [Reassessment1Type] is null then subtract [ClosedDate] from [HomeVisitDate], if not then subtract [CloseDate] from [PLBReassessed1RTBMDate]

Hi

I just reinstalled windows onto my 20gig system hard drive.

In the process of reinstalling programs etc... my computer rebooted and i had an unexpected disk check which brought up several unrecoverable errors for corupted files on my 160gb hard drive.

several files had been corrupted and some folders... most importantly my My Pictures folder got corrupted
This folder was turned into a single file "my Pix" 32kbs
The pictures I had here were are very important to me as they are irreplaceable. I would have prefered it if it had wiped out everything else on my hard drive apart from that folder :'(

Is there anything that I could do to recover this folder ??

Hey Everyone!!!!

Is there a setting that will force the button object to output expressions and not embedded macros???

I just overcame a conflict between 2010 x64 runtime and Office SP1. I uninstalled SP1 and now instead of the button action creating VBA expressions it is embedding macros!

As this is my real source of code, I am not a programmer by any means, this represents a great disadvantage to my otherwise weak VB capacities....

HELP!!!!!!!!

A:Solved: HELP!!!!! Buttons now making macros and not expressions....?

Good morning, It sounds bad, but can you be more specific.
Which buttons? Embedding actions?
An last but surely not least, in what application.

with 2010 x 64 you probably meea Office 2010 64-bit but then you don't mention in what, where how, ehat you're doing.

Is it qith everything new or with existing files.

Hi all,

Joined these Forums today!

I went to install an app (running from CD) but am greeted with an error message:-

"Executable: 'D:\path to .exe' had the following unrecoverable error: Couldn't find library MSVCR80.dll (required by C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\MICROS~1\OFFICE12\MSOXMLMF.DLL). Please ensure that it is installed."

This particular .dll is installed in several folders including system and system32.

I have uninstalled Windows Defender as this is known to cause this particular problem. Have also uninstalled the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable and reinstalled to no avail.

I have installed this app (it is called IELTS in case you're wondering) on another PC and it works fine. This second machine actually had XP w/SP2 freshly installed on it. The MSVCR80.DLL file is not present on this system.

This file is the Microsoft C++ ver. 8.00 Runtime Library file.

I'd be grateful to hear form anyone who knows how to fix this!

Regards all,
Nick

My computer has a habit of freezing when I try to access folders on my secondary hard drive (D). When I restarted the computer, all of the items in the 'My Documents' folder were gone, with two system files in their place.

I did a system restore, and when I rebooted and went through disk checking, it found an 'unrecoverable error' with the My Documents folder. Now there are no files at all in the folder.

Can anyone help, or are they gone forever?

Hi there everyone... I have a problem when I do gaming, it gives me the DirectX unrecoverable error... I know plenty of people spoke on that subject, but I was wondering if it could be linked to the Ventrilo server we're using.

Every friday we do gaming on line, and for the past 2 months I have that message after maybe 2 hours of gaming on COD5. The games crashes, and sometimes I get pixels in my screen, so I have to reboot. Up until 2 weeks, I was running a BFG 8800GT, so I asked a friend to let me try a spare video card, and now I'm using a GeForce 9800GTX... same problem with a different card...

My DirectX drivers are up to date, so is my video card driver, even flashed the bios last week to have everything up to date.

Yesterday I was gaming and Ventrilo crashed, but the game was still running.....I was surprised because I was the fist time Ventrilo crashed, and it did without closing the game..So I started Ventrilo again, and a few minutes after both Ventrilo and COD5 crashed.

From reading on a lot of posts on the net, some users said they had problems with XFire, a program similar to Ventrilo.... Anyone having similar problem or having answers to this ?? I will give you details on my computer at the bottom.... Thanks !

Hi cashonly,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

The problem you are having can be due to a hard drive going bad, a problem with Windows, or another hardware/software problem.

I would first suggest that you run the Windows "chkdsk" utility 2-3 times , as well as the defrag and file cleanup utilities to see if it makes a difference.

Since this issue is fairly unique, I would like to offer to you that I formally escalate this issue to our technical support specialists. They will contact you directly to resolve the problem you are having.

In order to do so, please check your Private Message box for further instructions.

Thanks,
Mike

How many times have I heard this story before? You install Windows XP or hook your iPod up to your XP machine. Your computer crashes, and when you reboot, Windows runs autochk and converts all of your precious folders containing your Neil Diamond music and third quarterly earning projections into a small 32 kB file.

No, this is not the work of digital gods/goddesses trying to give you a bad hair day or get you fired (though I sometimes wonder). This is a fault in Windows XP's chkdsk utility that Microsoft techs were too lazy to fix.

"So are my Neil Diamonds gone?" you may ask. The good news is "No, they are not", though it will be one tough puppy to retrieve them.

I am not writing this post to ask a question on recovering my files (though I would expect few people to know how to recover them). Instead, I'm going to write a tutorial on how to get back your precious files, and I hope Tech Support Forums will be kind enough to leave it posted and maybe even pin it up!

So, what do I do? Stupid Windows XP/2000 didn't even give me a choice. It just said 'Yes', and when I went to the path it listed, I found a monkey of a 32 kB file with the same name as the folder that was there, but now the folder's gone!

First thing's first. Don't do anything! I mean don't take any action that would modify the contents of the hard drive that the files were on (such as loading this post if it's your primary drive). Any modification to your drive could ... Read more

A:Unrecoverable Error: Convert Folder to File (Y/N)? Yes.

Here are some additional links about FAT32 if you're interested:

Microsoft's Knowledge Base (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/154997)
Windows XP issues with FAT32 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314463)

Also, it is worth noting that the files that your folders may have been converted into may not be 32 kB in size. They may actually be smaller, depending on how your file system is configured. This is more likely for drives with lower data capacities. The smallest size possible should be 512 bytes. (If this is the case, you probably have one slow hard drive.)

Also worth noting is that these procedures can be used for devices that use the FAT filing system. The file size of the converted folders in these systems will most definitely be 512 bytes.

And on one final note, you may have to log in as the system administrator to be able to access some of your missing files/folders. If this still doesn't work, try unhiding hidden and system files/folders.

I quote:
1 Unrecoverable disc error on file (~wrlnnn.tmp) The disc you are working on has a media problem that prevents word from using it. Try and reformat or save to another disc.
2 word failed reading from this file (wrlnnn.tmp) please restore the network connection or replace teh FDD
3 A table in this doc has become corrupted. To recover convert table to text table
4 word cannot complete the save due to file permission error
5 word has lost data due to bad network connection or missing FDD

Reg Mechanic, Chkdsk and Virus checkers (all suggested on other threads) come up with a few usual suspects, correct them but the problem isn't fixed. Other applications save OK; as does word sometimes still. Using latest Kaspersky Firewall and Virus scan, latest Reg Mechanic too. I've reinstalled office too.

FWIW Feels weird and complex to me, but I'm no expert.

Welcome to TSF!

Download and run the drive manufacturer's diagnostics for your hard drive, it may be defective. The manufacturers tools can often fix things that chkdsk can't as well.

Here's a list of several different diagnostic tools from some of the different manufacturers:

Greetings,

I have had some interesting issues with my new build as of late and would appreciate some assistance.

I put together an AMD 64x2 6000+ with a gigabyte m61ps3 mobo, 2g of crucial ballistix RAM and Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250gb drives in a RAID 1 mirror array.

Install went fine and got first post without issue.

In the subsequent weeks, I got occascional reboots without warning and an old-school BSOD that would only stay on the screen for a few secs before continuing the reboot. As a
result, I could only catch "Kernal Stack Inpage Error", did not get to see any error
numbers. It seems that it MAY have been more common while running uTorrent.

In reading about this error, I went looking for a problem with the HDs. I tried running
chkdsk from the DOS window and from inside windows and on both occasions it froze. On a subsequent reboot, the OS would not boot and I got an error saying HAL.DLL was broken.

I tried several methods of recovering this file through the recovery console, but could
not.

My mobo RAID controller says the RAID array is heathly, and the mobo can recognize the
drives.

The "Seatools" program from Seagate is odd because it has two display windows and one says "two devices detected" and the other says there are no Seagate drives in my rig.

When I first tried chkdsk from the recovery console, I got the dreaded "one or more
unrecoverable errors" message. Since then, I have run chkdsk /r a couple more ... Read more

Well, there really is no option for this under the Sounds option panel, so you may not be able to do this. I have had it occur when the proper drivers were not installed. You may be able to do it with proprietary drivers.

RMA it.

Stop 0x124 is a hardware issue in general, and some hardware tests will void the warranty. As it is brand new as you are saying, better you use the warranty.

When using Mozilla Firefox recently I encountered the problem of getting the following response from two separate secure https login servers:
1) Gibson Research Corporation, Internet Security testing (for Shields Up!) at:
https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2, and
2) my ISP WebMail server at:
https://webmail.atl.earthlink.net

Error Code 500.
Message: Internal Server Error.

I soon discovered that when installing the software supplied by my ISP, they caution the following when using a non-IE browser during the installation process, and instruct you to setup the connection settings for localhost:8080 with regard to their dial-up accelerator, otherwise the accelerator may not work properly.

This conflicts directly with the solution to the above Error Code 500 problem:

The solution is as follows with Mozilla Firefox:
Pull down: Tools->Options->General->Connection->Connection Settings

I need more information. How are you downloading the newspaper? Is it some type of software I suspect that you need to download and install? Do you get this error message when you are trying to install it or download it? Internal server error indicates that you cannot reach the newspaper server in which case you will have to call the newspaper support or see if the newspaper has any info on how to download the paper. More info would help at this point.

Any Exception object should have a StackTrace property that contains a full stack trace (including line numbers). You could parse that to get just the line number if you want but I don't think there is any way to get just the line number without doing that.

Just did a fresh install of windows 2000 and I had to upgrade the wmp to the latest version so I could listen to a certain radio station. Since that upgrade I now get "An Internal Application Error has Occured". I have already followed the directions on the Microsoft site to register the dll's and edit the registry but it has not helped.

I've searched the net and I've seen this problem a lot XP but never for windows 2000. Maybe that is why the microsoft instructions had no effect?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've reverted back to the version that came with the OS (which works fine) and tried upgrading from there but still it won't work.

Anyone have any other ideas?

A:Solved: Internal Application Error has Occured

I solved this problem by deleting media player (the latest version that didn't work), rebooted then ran windows update and downloaded the latest version from there and now it works fine.

The person using this computer in my office went to a website and downloaded it manually...could have gotten the wrong one for the OS, I'm not sure but in any case it works now.

Hi there. I am writing to you about a problem I have recently faced. I tried to install a new copy Office 2003. During the install I receive an error message informing me that I have an internal error. This installation is off the Office 03 Disk.

You can see the error message below: http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/8162/mso2003iz2.png

Below are the logs created from the failed install:

http://www.freewebs.com/hectaselecta/log1.htm

http://www.freewebs.com/hectaselecta/log2.htm

Internal error is usually an indication of a corrupt file you might say but I had to Windows XP's on a partitioned harddrive (C Drive and D Drive). The C Drive is my main and D Drive is back up.

I perfectly installed Office 03 in my D Drive but when I try to install it in my C Drive it fails.

Background Info:

C Drive is NFTS
D Drive is NFTS and is formmated with no data inside.

D Drive had a second XP installed and with this disk I installed Office 03 onto it.

Hopefully someone can help me in my situation.

Thankyou Hecta.

A:[SOLVED] error messages on-line

Do you mean that when you sign on to the internet, you get that message in Internet Explorer, or in a window over the desktop, or what, exactly?

Assuming you don't have some valid software installed trying to register or update itself:

Judging by what you've said so far, it sounds like you have some kind of adware or spyware trying to send information to the home server. You should download and install Ad-Aware from

http://www.lsfileserv.com/index.html

(Note: this site has been up and down lately due to heavy traffic...if you get an error message, just try again later)

While you're there, download RefUpdate and run that after installing Ad-Aware so you have the latest data files.

Run Ad-Aware and see what it finds on your PC. If this doesn't turn up any suspicious programs, you might also check to see what your browser's home page is set to. In IE, Tools / Internet Options / General tab. If neither of these solves the problems, reply back with more detail and we can take it from there.

If this problem is just an internet problem, it should be posted in the Web & Email forum. You'll get more responses there, as people tend to read the forums where their expertise lies. You can click "Report this post to a moderator" at the bottom of your message to get it moved to the right forum.

I am using Windows XP. I just installed Diablo II and the expansion on my computer. After installation I tried downloading the patch. It told me the download failed because D2CMP.dll was in use by another process. I tried running Diablo II and this error messege came up "This application has failed to start because D2CMP.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." When I went to go check the D2CMP.dll it was not there. I downloaded it from a site and put it where it was supposed to be. I tried playing Diablo II again, this time it got me to a black screen. Once I alt + tabbed it gave me a new error messege. The new error messege read "Cannot load D2Launch.dll: Error 182" I downloaded a working D2Launch.dll from a site and replaced it, however the same thing happened, black screen and error messege.

I know that was a bit long but if you took the time to read it thank you, I hope someone can help me.

I installed Diablo II. No biggie.

When I try to run it, the screen goes black. I have to hit the Windows button to get back to the desktop. On the desktop there's a lovely error window.

The first one reads:

DIABLO II SERVER EXCEPTION
Unhandled Exception: ACCESS_VIOLATION (c0000005)

Once I've clicked out of that one, I get this:

Diablo II: Game.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x00362c43" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "written". Click on OK to terminate the program.
It did this for another game, too. I figured it was something with the game, but I've got the feeling something is up.

I'd also like to add that my laptop can more than handle Diablo II. I had no problems with Neverwinter Nights.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you need a specific version for your characters, then just get the latest one.

Not sure it will help but read here :

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q191/6/60.ASP

Is this a game you were previuosly able to play but now cannot ?
If so your version of DirectX might be corrupt.

You can if necessary download it here :

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/downloads/default.asp
Try going Start > Run > type DXDIAG and complete the tests.

If this is a game you have recently obtained - are you sure your setup will support it.

It may be helpful if you could post some details of your system :
Win OS / Motherboard / Graphics Card / Controller / Ram.

I tried to open windows media player and it is giving me an error message "an internal application error as occured" it doesn't tell me how to fix it so I googled it to see if I could find some answers. The microsoft website only gives one solution for this problem and it does not fit my problem. I can also not find the media player icon in my add and remove program folder but when I right click on the desk top ICON I can find the target and it shows that it is still installed on my computer but for some reason I can't get to it.

I was going to try to do a system restore but that does not seem to be working either, the system restore screen opens but it is blank.

So I guess I have two issues, if I need to list the system restore issue in a different forum, let me know but if someone out there can help me with both issues, I would be grateful.

Thank you

We are using OS Windows XP
The version of media player on the computer is 10 to the best of my knowledge (I did try to re-download it and it seemed to download okay but I get the same error)

Hi,
I have an all in one, Cannon MX330. I'm trying to fax but each time the error report states "line busy". I've verified on two different fax numbers, two different machines, in two different places, that the lines were clear and the machines were working.
I have Verizon FiOS. I'm running a Telco line out of the jack in the back of the all-in-one which has a telephone picture over it, right into the phone jack on the wall, the signal should work just as voice does on the phone line from there.
There is another jack on the back of the all-in-one, labeled "L", the info says this is for "analog", which is what the phone is inside the house until it hits the ONT. The all-in-one info shows the line coming out under the little telephone diagram going to either a computer or a telephone.
Is there anything I should check? I'm faxing right from the machine, not through the computer.
Thanks

I've attached an image of the back of the all-in-one.

If a test with a standard plain old analog telephone works when plugged into that wall jack, then you need to connect the "L" jack on the all-in-one to that wall jack.

Hey everyone,

This is my first post here, and it is because of a terrible problem I am having where one of my internal drives literally just disappears from my computer after about 15 minutes of my computer running. If I restart the computer the drive will come back but then just disappear again after like 15 minutes of use. If I pull the drive out and hook it up to a USB hard drive dock, it will show up fine there. It is just a 250gb SATA drive. The only odd thing I can think of is that I use it to store all of the personal files that are usually stored on the C:\ system drive. When I installed the OS a few years ago, I went through the steps to get my personal data off the system drive in case of a crash. I doubt that could be causing the problem because it worked fine for a long time like that? I remember having to do some weird things in the registry or something to get the users folder to point to another drive.

Here is a picture of the error message that comes up after the drive decided to not be hooked up anymore.

The problem has existed for probably close to a year now.. It got me so fed up with this desktop that I just stopped using it and started using my macbook exclusively for about a year. I am trying to start using this computer for backups since it can hold much larger (and more numerous hard drives) than the macbook could ever dream to).

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Sam

A:Internal Drive disappears"G:\ Refers to a location that is unavailabe"

Hello samth3mancgp. Welcome to the forum.

The first thing to check are your settings under power management. The system could be set to turn off idle hard drives.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Power Options
For the power plan you are using > click Change Plan Settings

In the next window click Change Advanced Power Settings

In the next window, click the + sign next to Hard Disks > Click + next to "Turn Hard Disks Off After" > and change the setting to 0. It should now read Never.

Let's see if that works first.

Hi, I found this old thread from 2003 that describes my exact problem. Has anyone been able to resolve this? I need to run CHKDSK on a drive but I can't get the command prompt to even recognize it, I get "drive corrupt" error.

"Error 1555 Internal file number does not match position" Hi,

I was doing some major partitioning work on my comp...just to re-allocate space and so forth throughout my two drives.

But i found out on one of my partitions on my second drive (while I was trying to resize it by making it larger) that there was a an error : "Error 1555 Internal file number does not match position" and the resizing process halted.

I consulted Powerquest's website for a solution to this error (please see: http://www.powerquest.com/support/primus/id2419.cfm)

The problem is that the solution requires me to go into the drive itself and run CHKDSK /F, but on my system I cannot even see my drive unless it is within Partitionmagic.

I can't even see the parition in "My Computer", nor can i access it by going in dos mode... the error i get is "system cannot find the drive specified".

How do I get my partition to re-appear, so I can be able to run CHKDSK on it???

thanks in advance,

Zach.

If you are already running in compatibility mode, then I would suggest going to Blizzards website and search for a patch or update. Otherwise if the display is becoming green and weird you might try updating your video drivers.

Failing those, D2 may just be too old.

I have Access 93 SP2.

I have a report where I am doing calculations on each row of data in the Sub Detail_Print. What is happening is that the detail line that is to print on the top of the 2nd page and any detail line to print first on subsequent pages is having this routine executed twice.

I have created the smallest possible report which simply selects a list of order numbers. The only section is the Detail. The only line in the Sub Detail_Print is

MsgBox "OrderNumber is" & Me.OrderNumber

In Preview, I see a msgbox for each line then the ordernumber that should print at the top of the second page shows its msgbox, the first page appears, when I click the arrow to go to the next page the same msgbox appears again.

It appears that Access gets the line, executes the code, decides it doesn't fit on that page, does the new page, regets the line and re-executes the code placing it on the new page.

I could find nothing on this anywhere. Has anyone else seen this? Is there some setting I am missing?

Thank you!

The computer ran fine, I disabled the onboard video graphics by unistalling it via the device manager as my bios has no area to do that. It was playing games but I installed the new nvida drivers as the card recommended. The next day I had an internal power error screen. After i went into safe mode and by poking around online i thought maybe it was the driver so then i rolled back the driver and it was gone it booted up normally then four days later it has the same exact error: internal_power_error, 0x000000A0 (0x00000101, 0x00000007, 0xF78CE7A4, 0x00000000) I can't clear shadowing or cache in bios like the error says. This has only happened when playing diablo 3. I can play World Of Warcraft, League Of Legends, and every other game without it crashing. Any help would be much appreciated!

Stop 0x124 is a hardware error

If you are overclocking try resetting your processor to standard settings and see if that helps.

If you continue to get BSOD here are some more things you may want to consider.

This is usually heat related, defective hardware, memory or even processor though it is"possible" that it is driver related (rare).

Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try
Synopsis:

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.
Generic "Stop 0x124" Troubleshooting Strategy:

1) Ensure that none of the hardware components are overclocked. Hardware that is driven beyond its design specifications - by overclocking - can malfunction in unpredictable ways.
2) Ensure that the machine is adequately cooled.
If there is any doubt, open up the side of the PC case (be mindful of any relevant warranty conditions!) and point a mains fan squarely at the motherboard. That will rule out most (lack of) cooling issues.
3) Update all hardware-related drivers: video, sound, RAID (if any), NIC... anything that interacts with a piece of hardware.
It is good practice to run the latest drivers anyway.
4) Update the motherboard BIOS according to the manufacturer's instruct... Read more

This wouldn't be so much of a problem if it weren't for large programs I have installed that can only be removed via ARP, but all of a sudden today, I get a popup when I click the icon in the CP. I've googled this problem and it's the first one I haven't been able to find a solution for. Other people have had errors at line 472, because of theme incompatibilities, but I'm using the default Windows XP Theme. Please help.

In general, I have had an infuriating experience with this specific installation of Windows, and that's not related to viruses which I've only had two of. I've tried reinstalling which is impossible, because my computer won't boot from CD or USB I could reinstall to another internal drive, but it can only have one of those. I'm thinking about using another computer to install Ubuntu on a drive and ripping out the other drive and dropping it in instead, but it would be a shame if it didn't work.

I am trying to help my sister inlaw get her dial-up working again.

I deleted the dial up she had and went through it and reput everything in and it still came up with line busy.

I uninstalled and then rebooted and it found the modem and installed it. I tried to dial up again and it was the same thing 676 line busy.

I went to control panel> phone and modem and went in where you can query the modem and got answers back . and also it says it is working properly.

The only thing I can think of is if something else is trying to dial out or use the modem and making it busy.

Would it help and/or can I go into device manager and uninstall the com1 and com2 and then reboot and will that reinstall them and if so do you think that would help??

This problem started I guess when she was going to get DSL and her ISP I guess sent her the stuff, the external modem, etc and then they said she waas to far away. I think she tried to hook it up. A:Solved: Windows XP SP2-Modem dials out but give error 676 line busy-Please help?

The modem should be on COM3, so all that is correct.

Causes of error 676 can include:

You are dialing the wrong number

There is a problem at your ISP or in the telephone network

You have voice-mail or other custom calling feature that produces a stutter dial-tone

You haven't specified the proper country settings for your modem and the number you are dialing

If you include the disable call waiting code in your dialing, and your phone line does not support call waiting; or, if you have call waiting, but your phone company doesn't support the disable call waiting code.

Dial the number the modem should be dialling using a phone. Do you get a connection (modem tone) or a "no such number or other non answer tone. If you do not get the modem "squeal" then the number is wrong.

When your modem dials, listen in with another phone on the line, what do you hear? You should hear the modem sqeals as above.

Its also possible that the modem is dead, from such an event as a lightning storm. The PC thinks its OK but the fault is on the outgoing side where the PC cannot check, so you get the response you are posting about. In this case buy a new modem.

A:Solved: Java: If a line is exactly equal to the previous line

Hi, Welcome to TSG

OK, lets have a look at the ISSUES in your code

1. If you have JUST TWO WORDS, then no need of the loop
2. The way you checked for the blank line is wrong
3. If you want to check two strings, don't use .equals(). Because it will check the STRING OBJECT. For an example, if the both lines are blank, it will still print "Repeated"
4. You have to check whether any of the lines are blank or not, but you are checking only the first line

Have a look at the following edited code
Code:
import java.util.*;

public class Test
{
public static void main(String[] args)
{

String word=null;
String word1 = null;

Scanner scan = new Scanner (System.in);
System.out.println ("Enter continuous lines of text: ");

word = scan.nextLine();
word1 = scan.nextLine();

if (word==word1)
{
System.out.print ("Repeated:" + word);
}
else if((word==null || word.length()==0) || (word1==null || word1.length()==0))
{
System.out.print("Farewell");
}

}

I have Word 2003. I do a lot of literature reviews, copying and pasting from .pdf files. When I do this, the text is pasted into word only filling a partial page. I want the text to completely fill a line within the margins. So I manually go to the end of a sentence, hit the space bar once, the delete once to delete the new line/paragraph marker. Sometimes I have to do that twice. Then I go to the next sentence and repeat the steps until it is all completed. It seems this would be a good use of a macro. I can record a macro and go through these steps once but not looping through every line until the end. Can someone please help?

Hi all,

Not long ago (a couple of weeks ago) out of the blue my PC started severely slowing down...

Opening new web pages, switching windows even changing song on media player seems to grind the whole machine to a halt and a few mins later it does what I asked it.

I've run a couple of virus scans (which found nothing) and also cleaned spyware, but neither helped at all. Also, I've run a couple of registry checkers and repaired any problems that they found...but again no help at all.

When I first start the PC, it works as fast as normal for about 10mins or so...but after this, I cant even right click without having to wait ages.

Temperatures seem fine, and from the looks of things, there's plenty of memory available when the slowing down happens (tho it feels exactly as if all memory is being used up at that time)
Just wondering what anyone would suggest the next step is...I'm trying to work on some web design stuff which is impossible when changing between windows takes forever!!

Any ideas will be more than welcome!!

Thanks,
Colin
