Hi,
I have a website hosted by Yahoo Geocities and just recently when I am updating my site in the yahoo pagebuilder, I get this message...

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close. The following add-on was running when this problem occured. File-msjava.dll

The only option is to click 'ok' which then closes down I.E. completely. Geocities requires java to run and I only get this error when I am working on my site, never when just surfing the net etc. I havn't changed any java settings and it has always worked before.
I have run Ad-aware and spybot and also done a full system scan, cleansweep and one button check-up with Norton.
Thanks for any advice, and sorry if I posted this in the wrong section.
Lisa.

A:msjava.dll error message IE has encountered a problem.....

They recently updated page builder so you will need to update IEs java runtime enviroment to work with pagebuilder.

or you can just download Firefox.

When attempting to click on certain links or open attachments, the error message saying that "IE has encountered a problem and must shut down" occurs. At other times, programs will freeze up. I have disabled toolbar add-ons, and that was no help. I used Easy Cleaner to clean registy and to delete unnecessay files. There was a .tmp file that would not delete. I did not find that file using Autoruns.

I would very much appreciate any help you have to offer.

A:HELP!! error message: windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.

You've definitely got some nasty malware on your system there. Please click on and follow the directions in the 5 Steps link in my signature below to scan your system for malware and to post a Deckard's System Scanner log in the HijackThis forum section. Unfortunately we cannot advise about HijackThis logs in the XP section.

As far as the explorer error, if you have a Windows XP CD you can insert the cd and then go to Start > Run and type "cmd" w/o quotes. Then type in "sfc /scannow" without quotes to run the Windows File Checker. It will check the system files on your PC and if they have been altered they will be replaced with a copy from your XP cd.

Definitely follow the 5 steps link in my signature below though. You've got some nasties on your system.

I have a Gateway Notebook (model 6020GZ) that runs Windows XP Home Edition. Microsoft Works 8 came pre-installed on the system. I recently started using the calender/reminder feature in Microsoft Works 8. It worked fine for several weeks, then I began to get the error message: Microsoft Works 8 has encountered a problem and needs to close

Details are: App Name: wkscal.exe App Ver: 8.4.623.0
Mod Name: wkscalac.dll
Mod Ver: 8.4.623.0 Offset: 00066736

I have gone to support.microsoft.com. and located the page that I believe would help me fix the problem, which they say is caused by either the mswkscal.wcd file is corrupted - or - the calendar file has reached a large size (which I don't think applies to me).

Microsoft's resolution includes removing Microsoft Works 8, running the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, then re-installing Works 8.

My dilemma is I don't have a disc to reinstall. I have contacted Gateway, and they told me I needed to contact Microsoft Support. Microsoft Support tells me that since the software came pre-installed, they can't help me, and I need to contact Gateway - Do you see where this is going?

I do not want to uninstall Works 8 until I am sure I will be able to re-install it. Is there a download to re-install Works 8 or a patch that will fix the problem?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Ok il try to make this as brief as possilbe.

Sister clicked a stupid website link today on my laptop. Started doing weird things.

Now when i boot it up a popup appears saying google installer has encountered a problem. You know when it asks wheither to send error report or not. Now for the weird parts

It wont let me run any anti-virus removal software. I can run IE/Firefox ok. Even when i go into their folder and change the .exe filename to something like fluffy it opens them for like 5 secs and when i run the scan it closes str8 away.

Again when i search for anything on google about the problem i get a message saying my connection has been reset. Obv the virus/trojan is doing this.

Now i try to reboot in safe mode and it wont let me do it either. Im going insane here.

I cant even do a PC recovery because it says the recovery partition cannot be found.

Any ideas are most welcome

Hello!

I have been getting a really annoying error lately every time I reboot.

The error message "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" appears a few minutes after start-up.

I click "To see what data this error report contains, click here." and it shows this:

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.3156 ModName: ws2_32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 0000664d

I have run Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware Professional and Trend Micro OfficeScan but i still get the problem whenever I restart my computer.

Although my windows seems to be working properly after I click "don't send report" (due to restore settings?), the error message annoys me every time i restart my computer.

What shall I do to repair the problem? Please let me know if you need my HJT log. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon!

Hello Bleeping Computer,Having removed a particularly stubborn version of 'virtumode' with excellent help here from Teacup61 my system was clean...clean.I uninstalled Norton IS and then used the Norton Removal Tool - no problems.Next I ran an XP Disk Defrag - no problems. Then I tried to install Norton IS 2007 from a known good 3-user CD.When the CD autoplays the NIS Install panel comes up OK.I choose install...and then immediately get a box up saying"Setup stub has encontered a problem and needs to close...Please tell Microsoft etc...etc"I click Don't Send and it carries on installing. Then when it's mostly done the same message box pops up"Setup stub has encontered a problem and needs to close...Please tell Microsoft etc...etc"I click Don't Send...and the installation aborts and I'm left with a part installed NIS product.I have then used Norton Removal Toool to remove it.Tried to re-Install but exactly the same thing happens.Next I downloaded AVG and tried to install that - same problem except that the program in the message is the AVG exe.I have looked all over and found the drwtsn32.log which contains the data shown at the end of this post each time I try and install.I have re-registered msi installer at 3.1 - no change.I have run sfc /scannow - no change.I have tried going back with system restore - no change.MalwareBytes Anti Malware runs clean.Hijack This log is clean.Any help or advice would be much appreciated please. Many Tha... Hello,

I bought my daughter a cd software game SpongeBob Squarepants the Movie, but after I installed it and clicked on the icon to play (or rather she did), we got an error message that said, "sb4.exe has encountered a message and needs to close." From advice, I updated the video card driver but upon downloading the driver from Sis, I was not able to install it, getting two error messages. The first said, "Update driver for Plug and Play Device: Error", and the second driver I tried said, "File invalid or corrupted". The first was for Nt/XP and the other was for just XP (I tried each of them). I tried to download each drivers again, but same message.

Unfortunately, Sis does not offer any tech support to end users.

I am running XP Pro with 240 of RAM. I wasn't sure what else to include so I pasted my dxdiag file, following.

Hello,

During download of movies using bit torrent 6, I started getting this problem mentioned below.
"Google installer encountered a problem & needs to close. Please Contact Microsoft " This message appeared after every hour. Adobe stopped functioning altogether. The moment I open a file, I get the message -
"Adobe 9.0 has encounterd a problem and needs to close, Please contact Microsoft" and Adobe closes.
I normally use chrome along with Firefox as my browser. Occasionally I also started getting this message -
"IE has encountered a problem and needs to close, Please contact Microsoft.

I use norton antivirus and check my drive after every download to see if there is any malware in the system. This time I didn't and watched the movies instantly. I also watched a movie online directly on the website and from then on I have been having the problem as mentioned above.
I was able to run Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition and Spybot which was already installed on my computer. I was also able to download other antivirus software to identify this problem. I downloaded CCleaner, Avast antivirus, Ad-Adware to identify the source of the problem. Avast Antivirus did find some viruses especially Trojans at startup and was deleted. But after the antivirus run and XP loads up, the problems still persisted. Avast antivirus has a memory scan and from that I realized that there was more viruses in memory which were not detected and deleted. In the meantime... Read more

I am constantly getting an error when I try to play an audio CD saying that "windows media player has encountered a problem and needs to close." The only options I have is to send or not send an error report to microsoft then it closes. I went to microsoft's site but their fix isn't working. I have unistalled or rolled back WMP to version 9 and still have the problem. I have done another update to 11 and the problem still occurs. Not only is it with WMP but when I changed the association to open with Real player or another audio program I get the same message. I've googled the error but no clear fix for it. Here's what Microsoft suggested but it's not working. Any ideas.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555494

Recently, I am getting an error that says "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the invonvenience." I have Windows XP. Usually, it happens when I try to hit the Back button. It happens on some websites more than others. I have already unchecked the "Enable 3rd party browser extensions." That didn't help.

I'm getting this error message on 90% of programs I try to open. But if I keep trying it will eventually open. It doesn't happen on chrome/firefox, thankfully.

Another problem that I believe is connected to it is that I can't open a browse window. On photobucket for example I'll click "browse" and it won't open. But if I restart the browser a few times it will eventually work, just like the problem above. I had some sort of worm on my computer earlier this month. I removed it and since then ran multiple more scans (malware anti-bytes) and nothing new comes up.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey, I'm kind of in the dark corner about this issue, everyone. I have no idea what to do.

A while ago, I preformed a System Restore on my system because I was encountering some startup video issues. Upon restoring, everything seemed to be back to normal, the files I removed were back, and the ones I installed are gone.

However, I first opened an Applications folder where I keep shortcuts to various apps, and it gives me this message:

"SETUP ERROR
The setup has encountered a problem during install. Please review the log files for further information on the error."

So, I'm confused as to what is going on, as far as I know, this seems to be an error.

But, I pressed OK and then a Windows Installer comes up, so I wait. When it's done, my file opens, but regardless, this is an annoying task to preform every single time I startup my computer.

Anybody...? Thank you

A:An error saying the setup controller encountered a problem.

I am having the same trouble at the moment.
I don't know what to do either but I am gonna try a disk check and after that I will try to run a repair on my system and hope that works.
I also encounter this problem when I opened my computer.
Don't know what's it's about though I was hoping someone here would know

Hello Demii,One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan. This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and download and execute files.I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.Though the trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Please read these for more information:How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud? When Should I Format, How Should I ReinstallWe can still clean this machine but I can't guarantee that it will be 100% secure afterwards. Let me know what you decide to do.Regards, tea

I am getting the (program) "has encountered a problem and needs to close error report with a number of programs on my PC."

It started with Outlook (2003) then Sony Media Manager and now Mailwasher Pro. I can use Outlook to send and receive messages OK and the error only appears as Outlook is closing down. My Mailwasher Pro update won?t run at all and produces the error report when I try to run it.

In the last couple of weeks I have tried to download a number of programs, some install and run OK and some produce the above error report when I try to run them.

I was able to download, install and run Media Monkey and Anvir Task manager OK. The problem seems to be with some problems and not others.

The nearest event I can think of that coincided with the start of this problem was the installation of a program called Evernote which I have since uninstalled.

Extra info: I HAVE used Black Vipers site to alter my system services and I do use Revo uninstaller to uninstall unwanted programs.

My system is Windows XP home sp3

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks

1. Do a repair install of your O/S.

2. Stop making edits which cripple your O/S.

And a third one...if you install a program and problems follow...uninstall that program.

hello everyone,
im new to the site thanks to google and trying to find info on this problem im having.

when i boot up my computer, after about 5-10 min i get a error message that says
"generic host process for win32 has encountered a problem and needs to close"

i downloaded malwarebytes and ran that and it found a slew of 'threats'

i noticed too that when browsing the internet, i get redirected(new tab) to a 'registry defender' site that says my pc might be at risk.
i have registry booster 2010 on my computer and when i ran that it found a bunch 250+ registry errors.

i have spy bot s&d on my pc too and that really doesnt find anything either.
i also have ad-aware se on my pc.

i noticed that a bunch of people have the same problem i have but each problem is on an individual level.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:generic host error win32 has encountered a problem

Hello,Regarding Registry Booster:Bleeping Computer DOES NOT recommend the use of registry cleaners/optimizers for several reasons:Registry cleaners are extremely powerful applications that can damage the registry by using aggressive cleaning routines and cause your computer to become unbootable. The Windows registry is a central repository (database) for storing configuration data, user settings and machine-dependent settings, and options for the operating system. It contains information and settings for all hardware, software, users, and preferences. Whenever a user makes changes to settings, file associations, system policies, or installed software, the changes are reflected and stored in this repository. The registry is a crucial component because it is where Windows "remembers" all this information, how it works together, how Windows boots the system and what files it uses when it does. The registry is also a vulnerable subsystem, in that relatively small changes done incorrectly can render the system inoperable. For a more detailed explanation, read Understanding The Registry. Not all registry cleaners are created equal. There are a number of them available but they do not all work entirely the same way. Each vendor uses different criteria as to what constitutes a "bad entry". One cleaner may find entries on your system that will not cause problems when removed, another may not find the same entries, and still another may want to remove entries require... Read more

When I powered up my Toshiba Satellite Laptop with Win XP Pro SP3 yesterday morning it started fine but when I tried to open Word I got the "Word has encountered a problem and must close" error. After some checking I determined that this was true for several other apps including Excel 2003, PowerPoint, OneNote and Explorer. Also PC-Cillin and Messenger won't start but give no error. I downloaded Trend Micro Housecall on another machine, put it un a flash drive and tried to run it on the laptop. It gives the same error. I have run disk check which found and repaired a number of problems but I still get the same error on trying to start the apps I mentioned. I did run CCleaner as well which cleaned up some registry problems but did not improve the main problem.

I have never seen this problem before and it's starting to look like some odd virus or registry problem. So far have not had any luck trying to resolve it. Anyone else have this problem or have a suggestion of how to fix it?

Thanks,

Jim

A:Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close, error

It's possible that one of those multimedia files are corrupt, mainly a video.

Does this happen in several different folders, or just one?

You need to find the culprit and delete it.

How many files are in that folder?

Not sure if this is the right place so put this thread, I know its related to my DLINK wireless card, a bit of googling suggested it might be spyware but I seriously doubt it. Could someone please check my hijack this log to confirm and give me any ideas on what could be the cause of the error "ANIWZCS2 Service Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close" when I login. Its more of an annoyance, my connection kicks in after about 5 secs after I click ok in the dialog box.

Hi all,
I am a total Newbie so please have patience with me.
I am working mostly with Mozilla Firefox, but occasionally I go into Internet Explorer as I have got a website and it does display it different sometimes in IE than with Mozilla.
I have noticed recently that when I open IE everything seems to work fine first (the home page comes up and looks alright), but as soon as I enter anything in the search bar on the top and hit "enter", I have got this message coming up:
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
With the Mozilla Firefox Browser everything seems ok.
Why is that, and how can it be fixed?
When I go in ->My Network Places ->View Network Connections, I have got LAN or High-Speed Internet, and there are 2 connections mentioned:
Local Area Connection2, which says: (Network Cable Unplugged, Fire...Intel(R) Pro/100 VM Network...)
Local Area Connection, which says: (Connected, Firewalled, Motorola SURFboard SB5100)
I don't know whether that has anything to do with it, but I thought I mention it.
The same problem happens when I want to use a Software I have downloaded, called "Directory Submitter", every time I want to use that the same message appears, just as "Directory Submitter has encountered a problem and needs to close. A:Message "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close."

First, you did not state what version of IE you use, IE6 or IE7; and what OS, WinXP what (Pro/Home, SP2/SP3).

Second, why Firefox? Do you really need it? I ask because there are reported problems with conflicts between IE and Firefox by some users. These seem to be reported by people like you who try to use both browsers. People who use Firefox exclusively, don't see the problem.

I assume your are in business and that's why you use Directory Submitter. By the way, is it from the .COM or .ORG site? You use it as PR for a WEB site you publish, correct?

Uninstalling the MSN Toolbar is not a viable option as its Form Fill and Desktop Search tools are great.

"I am getting the Generic Host process for Win32 services has encountered a problem and needs to close" error. When this happens it gives you a timer of about 60 seconds and closes down. I also lose internet connectivity when this happens.

I thought this was related to Malware so I posted in that section here in this site. After a lengthy process and fully updating Windows XP, numerous scans, the user 'Extremeboy' determined it was not related to Malware and asked me to post the issue here.

I will say one thing, it used to happen just about every day and it is less frequent now but still occurs.

I am running Windows XP Home edition, Service Pack 3.

My computer is a Toshiba Satellite, Dual Intel processor 2.00 GHz, 2 gb RAM.

I am new to this Forum so please let me know if you need any more information and what you need me to run/post.

Thank You!

Hello all,

I have had a problem for a couple weeks where when I try and open folders, go into control panel, open many programs, or do almost anything related other than open up Firefox and browse the net I get the "Explorer has encountered an error and needs to close message." Also whenever I try and download from Windows Update I get the Internet Explorer has encountered an error and needs to close message. I have posted on another tech support forum but haven't gotten it fixed. I have updated Norton and run it a few times, no problems, and run three online virus programs and no problems. I also have run HJT a few times, here is my newest log...

Hi - welcome to TSF

You may have to wait for this post to be moved to the HJT Help board before you get the specialist help you are seeking - in the meantime have a read here:-
http://www.techsupportforum.com/showthread.php?t=15968

Have you tried going to TOOL>Internet Options and deleting Temporary Files and Cookies followed by 'Reset Websettings' on the Programs tab - then run a file check - with your windows CD in a drive go to Start>Run and type sfc /scannow>Enter Key ... allow the file checker to run through your essential explorer files and replace any lost or damaged files.

Trying to help a co-worker with these issues;

Started out with the Google redirects now;
"svchost.exe-Application Error" The instruction at 0x001a61ae referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be written.

Click OK to terminate the program.
Click CANCEL to debug the program.

While this error message was popping up the machine was pretty much non-usable, I couldn't get 'task manager' to work, I couldn't 'right' click on "my computer", sometimes clicking 'start' didn't do anything, the pc would just lock up just the mouse would move around.

After doing some research I found some suggestions to "turn off" MS Automatic Updates, then "manually" run MSUpdates; Which I did and that seemed to have fixed the 'svchost.exe errors'. They weren't coming back and I was able to continue using the machine.

Malewarebyte wouldn't run (installed), I couldn't install Spybot S&D or Superantispyware. I had to change the names of the executable files to get them to install AND to get them to run.
Malewarebytes did find 3 different things; one of them was a DNS Name Server changer, which temporarily fixed my Google redirector.
Spybot found some type spyware, Coupon bar, etc. and Superantispyware didn't find anything (ran that last, 3rd).

Although these found some items I still couldn't get the correct 'executable' files for Malewarebyte, Spybot and Superantispyware... Read more

I have since returned this machine back to it's owner. They were getting impatient with waiting.

I'm sorry if anyone spent any time trying to figure out what this might have needed.

I did run TDSSKiller and it did fix a majority of the issues; The svchost popup error is gone along with the generic host process error.
I am now able to run all my anti-virus and anti malware products with out any problems.

This is my first visit to a forum and first attempt to post.
I use Windows XP SP3 and am trying install a Microsoft LifeCam HD 300 camera for use with Skyype.
I initially installed the cam using the software on the supplied disk. On completion of installation I got the above message. I have just installed Skype and found that the mic was working but when I tried to set up the camera I got the message " The camera is in use by another programme. I could not find any other programme using the cam. I uninstalled the programme and re-installed. Same result.
I then seardhed for drivers on the web and found LifeCam3.22.exe which I downloded and installed. With this I got the message "There is no camera installed on this computer"
I then came to the Microsoft site and found LifeCam3.60.exe and downloaded and installed it. I have come the full circle and am back with the original error message and at a loss where to go next.

Received IE8 via microsoft updates and ever since have been getting the same error message with just about every new web page that opens up. Thought it was a vista issue and posted there. Was told to post scans in Malware/Spyware forum. Was then told no sign of malware and to return to vista forum, thought I'd try here..... Some kind of compatability issue? Don't know, but I'd sure like smooth sailing again. Thanks for any assistance!

Hi,

I know this is a very old soccer manager, but I just want to ask, if someone has ever encountered my problem that follows, or if someone could help in any way possible. This does not concern issues with OS or starting the game, it is more likely the problem(or more accurately the error) in the game itself and it is probably in it from the very beginning.

The problem arises when I play the match(in "MATCH", "HIGHLIGHTS" or "BRIEF" mode), and I decide to substitute a player, who is low on energy and is therefore exhausted.

When I change this player in "Line up" window, everything looks fine, but as soon as the match continues after the substitution, the new player has the same energy as the old one, who has been substituted. This error is visible, when you pause the match immediately after it starts again after the substitution(this is the moment when this error occurs) and look again into the "Line up" window - at this moment is visible, that the new player does not have full energy, but his energy has rapidly dropped to the level of energy of the old player, who has been substituted.
It is therefore almost like I would not have made the substitution at all.

Same thing happens when I switch the positions of two players at the field. The two players will switch, all their attributes will switch as well but their current energy.

It seems that this problem causes, that the energies of all players on the fie... Read more

I know this will be hard to diagnosis, but maybe the problem with the browse window might help narrow it down? It's the first time I've ever heard of that problem occurring.

Thanks.

Please avoid using IE as it only works if you purchase it and that too if its under warranty, else it might throw some or the other errors. Instead, you can try Google Chrome which never give you this sort of problem.

I've been getting the error "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" spasmodically ever since I got my computer, about 2 years ago. It might go a couple of weeks in between errors but recently it's become something like every day or two. Perhaps this coincides with me getting my computer on the net. The screen shows only the wallpaper for a moment then the system comes back on with a few things missing form the system tray, though this may be an effect rather then a cause.

The error did not go away when I reinstalled windows.

Anyway here's a list of the error signatures it gives:

Hello Sir,

Yesterday, my HDD broke down and I had changed new HDD and got new XP installed.
When I tried Windows Update, I got the message " you may be a victum of counterfeit XP" everytime I turn on my notebook. Anyway I still can use it with the option "resolve it later" but when I turn off, it doesn't turn off for an hour and I have to turn of by pressing power button all the time now.

I'm a seaman without computer knowledge and I'm now stuck in a hotel waiting to join ship and I can't even go back to the computer shop where I changed my HDD and new XP.
One of my friends advised me to check virus with free Kaspersky software online and I found any sign of viruses.

this first happened to me a few days ago when i tried to play a file i had downloaded from bit torrent. any kind of attempt to access the file resulted in the program encountering an error and needing to shut down [send/dont send error report etc].
i.e. if i tried to look at the file in its folder, windows explorer would need to shut down, if i tried to play it in wmp, it would shut down, divx the same.

i ran g-spot on the file and i had all required codecs to play it. so i figured the file was just corrupt and deleted it. now i cannot play any of my avi files that have worked perfectly for years. i have them burnt to dvd, but i now cannot access any of them. its not my dvd drive, as i can still play actual dvd's. i have some avi files stored on my hard drive that still play.

this is a most frustrating problem. i was watching these AVIs not more than a few weeks ago, now i cant access them at all without this error being generated.

i have run a scan on my computer and havent turned up any virus' etc.

please help!!!!!!!!

My Mailwasher Pro update won’t run at all and produces the error report when I try to run it.

My system is Windows XP sp3

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks

No DMPS included in upload. Try this method.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.

Whenever I'm playing a game...like silent hunter 3 or lock on wich use a lot of graphics I get this problem.... but it occurs only when the game is loading or I'm using time acceleration inside the sim...never occurs during normal gameplay..only during acclerated situations or during loading

I get a window saying "program has encountered a problem" ...with a send / don't send option...

could this be due to 3d mark 2003 I have it installed in my system

I dont think it has to do with 3D Mark.

Try memtest86 - let it run for 10 loops or more and see if you have memory issues.

I keep getting an error message which I cannot track down and stop. I have WINXP OS. The message is, Error loading F:\Program Files|Wild Tangent|Apps\CDA\cda Engine 0400.dll. I once had Wild Tangent and tried to eliminate it but apparently there is an error I created. Bernsjo

A:Error Message Problem

WildTangent has messed up my computer, I recomend that you uninstall it unless you use it for online gaming or AOL Instant Mesenger or other things. Uninstalling it should solve the problem. These are the steps for removing it. They are also avelable at http://www.pchell.com/support/wildtangent.shtml

This is a program that will uninstall it:

http://www.pchell.com/downloads/WTRemover.exe

If that does not work try:

The Manual Uninstall for it from the website above

1) Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel
2) Double-click on Add/Remove Programs
3) Click on the WildTangent selection and Change/Remove, Uninstall, or Add/Remove depending on the operating system. Then follow the onscreen prompts to remove the WT Driver.
4) Now run Hijackthis and fix or Remove the following line (if it exists)

04 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaEngineMain

You may also have to use Hijackthis and remove the above line if you receive the following error message after using a spyware removal product to try to remove WildTangent

Error Loading C:\Program Files\WildTangent\apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400dll
This specified module could not be found

Follow the rest of these steps if the Control Panel icon or WildTangent folders still remain.

5) Remove the Wild Tangent Driver from the Control Panel if it still exists

Click on Start, Run and type REGEDIT and press Enter
Click on the Plus signs (+) next to the following sec... Read more

If you are using any proxy server for internet disable it and try. If not type regedit in run, expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU,
in the right pane double click on UseWUServer and make the value as 00000000.

Type services.msc in run, in the window find winHTTP Web Proxy Auto Discovery Service right click on the services and disable it.

Several of my desktop items can't be accessed because of a shortcut error. For instance, the only way I can run MalwareBytes is to delete it all, download it again, then run it. IF I try to use the shortcut again later, I get this message:

Problem with shortcut
The item 'MalwareBytes . . . ' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly.
Do you want to delete this shortcut?

I'm using an Acer Aspire 9410Z, with Vista, and though I don't think that matters in providing a solution, if I knew that for sure, I wouldn't be here! A few years of using computers, doesn't mean I know what I'm doing, so I'll greatly appreciate the solution to this annoying problem. ThanX!

A:Problem with Shortcut error message

Hello MyKinKStar,
Welcome to Vista Forums!!!

I think that it might be something with your disk defragment. Try shutting it off.
I am thinking this because if your defragment program is moving the install files or defraging the wrong area, it could cause this problem.

Try shutting your disk defragment using this tutorial and let us know if the problem happens the next day.

Let us know,
Ben

Hi everybody

I was wondering if anyone could give me some help with this error that continues to show up on my USB Jumpdrive (8GB) that I am unable to fix.

When deleting all the files off my jumpdrive I get the error message that says:

There is a corruption in file: F:\.Trashes\501\TRANSFER\.fseventsd

I am unable to delete this file (which shows up as a hidden item) and unable to use Unlocker to get rid of the problem. There are not other files on this jumpdrive and I am unable to get rid of this last one.

Also if anyone knows how to reformat this jumpdrive and can give me a walkthrough that would help me alot (after I get rid of the problem stated above)

Thanks for any help

So when I tried to unistall the old version I was using, and reinstall their newest version it would not allowed to do a uninstall of the older version. I am geting this message below, and not being allowed to do a uninstall of the older version:
Messages File "C:/Program Files (x86)Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware/unins000.msg" is missing. Please correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program.

Has anyone seen this happen before, and maybe what I can do to get the old version uninstalled.

A:Malwarebytes Error Message Problem.

Two things to try.  First try downloading the current version and installing it.  If that doesn't work, try using the Revo uninstaller - it will uninstall a lot of things when nothing else will.

I recently installed Sims 3, but whenever I try to launch it, I get this error message: 'The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.' I have no idea what to do, all help is greatly appreciated.

A:Error message when trying to launch game

Hi and welcome to TSG.

Is the machine you are trying to run Sims 3 on, the one in your profile? If yes, the first thing I would suggest is updating Windows if you really are working with SP1 still. There have been a significant amount of updates and improvements through SP2 and SP3 and this could be a significant contributing factor. You are also missing a large number of fixes for security vulnerabilities.

I would also suggest downloadning and installing an antivirus program if you ever use the machine online, try something like Microsoft Security Essentials. It is totally free for home use, I use it myself and haven't had any problems so far.

I received a Samsung 8.1 Digital Camera over the Holidays. This camera has the capability to transfer from the camera to the computer via USB pictures that I've taken. When I first got the camera I noticed that it did not have drivers for Vista so I went to the site and downloaded drivers that were for Vista.

The problem is that the USB transfer does not work. I've tried contacting Samsung and they told me that I do not need drivers with Vista. Doesn't work.

That is bad enough but it is worse. In the Problem Reports and Solutions I continuously get this error over and over " Windows encountered a problem while installing device drivers for your Unknown Device.

I can see if a solution is available and delete it but it keeps coming back. Here is more information on the message.

A:Error Message in Problem Reports and Solutions

Hi JazzMahn

Try seeing if System Restore can help. Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools- System Restore (or just type System Restore into the Start Search box on the Vista Start Menu, and press Enter). Choose a restore point from before ANY drivers for the Samsung were tried. Run the restore, and then see if Vista will recognize the camera -- just plug it in (don't provide any drivers, let Vista try things with it's built-in driver (that is likely what you downloaded from Samsung, but perhaps the download didn't go well - things can get corrupted).

If it still doesn't work, you can always enlist the aid of an inexpensive memory card reader (they only cost $5 to $10) --- here's an example --- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820609205 --- such readers are handy, as they can accept memory cards from all of your cameras. Just plug them in, insert your memory card - there you go.

Best of luck

Code:
C:\DOCUME~1\Irmali\LOCALS~1\Temp\tbuninstall.exe
I have no idea what it may be. I google it with no luck. My guess is that they ran some antivirus software and got rid of a trojan or virus but some trace of it is still in a registry or something.

The problem is formating the PC is not a option

I have several suggestions that might resolve your problem.1. Move as many of those large files (listed at the bottom of your post) onto disk and off your hard drive. Review your hard drive and look for files or folders that you can delete or archive to disk.2. Use BC's Startup Programs database to review the programs you have launching every time you boot; this database will provide guidance about which of these are needed, optional, or not needed.Regards,John

I have an ongoing issue with the Reader app in W8.1 used to view pdf's. To cut a long story short I have posted this over at MS TechNet forums but it would be great if anyone else could reproduce the issue. This error has occurred on 2 clean W8.1 x64 installs. On the advice of MS TechNet I disabled IE add-ons but that made no difference. However, as you can read at the end, using an alternate browser works perfectly.

What happens is that reader comes up with a 'can't open the file' message and that there is a 'problem with the file format'.

To try and reproduce the issue you must be using IE as your browser (you can have others installed but the test must be done using IE).

This is a link to a convenient page with plenty of small pdf's (its a UK government site of river levels/environment etc). Just scroll down the page and there are plenty of links.
https://www.gov.uk/government/collec...ts-for-england

Here's what you do... and at some point in the sequence I would hope you just might see the error message.

1/ Click and open any link on the page. You MUST be using Internet Explorer as your browser for this.
2/ Once the pdf is open and showing correctly, simply close it.
3/ Now pick another pdf on the site and open it in the same way.
4/ Repeat doing this a couple of times with different pdf's if no error shows.
5/ If you still have no error, keep IE open but navigate to, and try opening a pdf stored locally on your HDD
6/ Now go back to the website and try some more l... Read more
