A: Error Message while running Microsoft Word and Works

First, are you running Word or Works when you get this message. I mean, do you get into Works at all or you get into Works, choose the Word processor and that's when you get the error...

If you like, you can try the "global" fix. Go to www.piersontech.com/07-CleanHardDrive.htm
and follow the instructions to clean up your hard drive. And then, of course, if that doesn't work, come on back in here and let us know what version of works you're using. If you can't figure out how to tell, find the file called msworks.exe on your hard drive, right-click the file name and hit Properties. The version is under there.

Hello, I need help My Microsoft works came pre-installed with my Toshiba L505D laptop w/windows 7, and now when I try using it I get,
Microsoft works cannot access one or more files it needs to run. The files may have been renamed, deleted, or moved. Try reinstalling Microsoft Works and then starting again.
Well I have all the backup & recovery, applications & drivers, toshiba recovery dvds 1,2,&3, and Windows Recovery Enviorment (64-bit) discs that I created when my laptop was brand new. So do you know if somewhere on one of these discs has works to re-install, and if so which one do I use? Thank you for your time!!

A:Microsoft Works error message

Try going to Control Panel>Programs and Features locate Microsoft Works right click on it and see if you can select "Change" this may allow you to repair installation of Microsoft Works.

If not load each disk and search for a Microsoft Works install.exe file
if you find one uninstall Microsoft Works by the methods above, reboot then reinstall Microsoft Works.

Hi
I've recently installed Microsft Works Suite 2002 on a laptop.
Everything was fine for a week and now when the machine gets to the desktop Windows XP says that an error has occurred in Microsoft Works Marketing Feature ..WKFUD.exe do you wish to report this to Microsoft etc.
The file is within Microsoft Works and when you double click it it starts a program for making flyers and poster etc.
The computer works normally other than this error.
Any ideas how to get rid of the error?

First thing I would do is check for a virus, trojan or spyware.

Here are free programs to do the above.

Ad-Ware Checks and removes spyware
http://www.spychecker.com/download.html

SWAT a free trojan program and free updates for life.
http://lockdowncorp.com/bots/downloadswatit.html
PC Cillion is an online free virus checker

I don't have the Works 2002 Suite but open the program and click on Help and see if it has a detect and repair utility.

I have a Gateway Notebook (model 6020GZ) that runs Windows XP Home Edition. Microsoft Works 8 came pre-installed on the system. I recently started using the calender/reminder feature in Microsoft Works 8. It worked fine for several weeks, then I began to get the error message: Microsoft Works 8 has encountered a problem and needs to close

Details are: App Name: wkscal.exe App Ver: 8.4.623.0
Mod Name: wkscalac.dll
Mod Ver: 8.4.623.0 Offset: 00066736

I have gone to support.microsoft.com. and located the page that I believe would help me fix the problem, which they say is caused by either the mswkscal.wcd file is corrupted - or - the calendar file has reached a large size (which I don't think applies to me).

Microsoft's resolution includes removing Microsoft Works 8, running the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, then re-installing Works 8.

My dilemma is I don't have a disc to reinstall. I have contacted Gateway, and they told me I needed to contact Microsoft Support. Microsoft Support tells me that since the software came pre-installed, they can't help me, and I need to contact Gateway - Do you see where this is going?

I do not want to uninstall Works 8 until I am sure I will be able to re-install it. Is there a download to re-install Works 8 or a patch that will fix the problem?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Product : Microsoft Word
Version : 2003 SP3 with all updates
-----------------------------------------

I have been using MS Word for 5 years without any problems. It has now developed an issue which I would like to resolve. When I start Word, it initiates and then displays a message "Microsoft Word has not been installed for the current user". It then terminates. If I start Word again, it starts normally and works normally.

However, this message is a concern because I don't know if something more serious is about to happen. It would be catestrophic if I could not access Word as all my documents are written in the Word format.

Anyone seen this before?

I'm not sure if this is where I should post this.....

I keep trying to open a document in Microsoft word and it says "There is not enough memory or disk space to complete the operation". I've deleted a bunch of photos and old files that I no longer use, restarted, and it's still happening.

I also have 13 little icons on the bottom right of my task bar on Windows....is that normal?? I don't even know what half of them are and why they are there! They are java update available; updates are ready for your computer (which i'm scared to click on because of my last experience clicking on something like that); HP digital imaging monitor??; bluetooth; ati; local area connection (has an 'x' through it); superantispyware; avg; realtek hd audio manager; epower management; volume; and symaptics pointing device.

Any help would be great...I have a lot of work to do and I can't do it if these files won't open!

When trying to open up a word doc, the following error message appears: "Microsoft Word has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application." The problem is, word docs can be opened under three other usernames, but when my boss(administrator) logs onto the computer and tries to open up a word doc for his business, that is the error message he gets. What does he need to do to correct this? This is the second time this has happened. He had the problem fixed(don't know what they did, but they charged him $40.00) and now, here we go again. Microsoft support wants to charge 59.00, this is unacceptable. Please help!

Hey TSG,

I use Microsoft Office 2010 and am receiving the error message "There was a problem sending the command to the program" whenever I open a Word document from My Documents. [see screenshot]

This error message does not pop up though if I open the file from within Word.

All documents being tested are .docx file types saved using Word 2010.

After Xing off the message or clicking "OK", Word is fully functional.

I'm at college and the installation disks are back home, so there's no hope for re-installation being my fix anytime soon (unless I go home this weekend).

Any ideas?

Hi all,

I'm using Windows Vista and am suddenly unable to open any of my Microsoft Word 2007 documents. (Which means I can't recover my CV for this upcoming job )

When I try I get the following error message -
"C:\Programs Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\oart.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."

On Googling the error message I saw that file was a security risk and followed the instruction in the topic, which was to open appwiz.cpl and then repair Microsoft Office 2007. But that didn't work, and I got the error message of - "Error 1310 C:config.msi\1151431.rbf Verify access". I received the same error message when I tried to uninstall, so I was unable to uninstall and reinstall the program.
Thanks in advance for any help, HeadDesk.

You can try using Revo Uninstaller if normal uninstall procedures don't work (via Add/Remove Programs).

I'm going to move this to the Business Applications forum.

In the meantime I suggest you find the file

normal.dot

And rename it normal.bak

Then reopen Word and see if the problem still occurs. If it does you probably need to do a repair or reinstall of the parent program Microsoft Works.

I'm trying to print a document from Microsoft Word 2003 to a network printer.
When I select print I get an error message with the following text.
A microsoft word error 7, "The RPC server is unavailable" has occurred. When
I close the error box I get another error that immediately follows.
A microsoft word error 10, "There is a printer error" has occurred.
Have tried to troubleshoot the problem by re-installing the printer and this
does not help. Have even re-installed Microsoft Office 2003 and this has not
stopped the problem either. I have 12 workstations on a Windows 2003 server
and only 3 of my workstations are having this problem. All workstations are
running Windows XP professional sp2 and print just fine from all of my other server
applications. I have scanned all systems for malware and they are all clean.
I don't know what else to try and hope someone has seen this problem and may
have solution.

A:Solved: A microsoft word error 7 message occurs when users try to print

It could be caused by the Print Spooler service being stopped - that would explain the second error, which is an out-of-memory error. If that fails, make sure you have the latest printer driver - and the one you have may be corrupt.
If all this fails, try installing the printer again, but use the IP address of it, rather than having Windows auto-search for it. Another meaning of this error is that the PCs are unable to recognize one another.

I recently purchased an ASUS Windows 8.1 64 bit computer.  I transferred my Microsoft Works Version 8.0 word processor and spreadsheet files from my old computer onto the new computer.  I just purchased the Microsoft Office 2013 Home and Student Edition (64 bit version) from an online vendor and installed the software onto my new computer.

I have no problems opening my Works spreadsheet files in Excel.  However, when I attempt to open a Works word processor file in Word, I get gibberish.  I did some research online and found out that there is a Microsoft tool called Works 6-9 Converter which allows one to open Works files in Word.

I downloaded the Works 6-9 Converter tool from the Microsoft Support website and installed it on my PC.  However, when I subsequently attempted to open a Works word processor file in Word, a dialog box appeared with the error message "Word cannot start the converter Wks9Pxy.cnv" and the file did not open properly (i.e., I got gibberish).

I did a little more research online and found out that uninstalling the Works 6-9 Converter, then downloading and installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package, and finally reinstalling the Works 6-9 Converter may correct this problem.  I followed these steps, but unfortunately when I attempt to open a Works word processor file in Word, I get the same error message and the file does not open properly. ... I bought my computer in 2008ish, maybe 2009, and it came with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. It also came with pre-installed software, and of those pre-installed software included Microsoft Works Word Processor. I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit last week, and I have been painstakingly installing my programs back after I messed up the installation. First, I installed Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit, then I realized I put in the wrong disc so I then put in Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, then I upgraded to Ultimate 64-bit. All my programs got messed up in the process and I basically have a clean install of Windows 7 with a Windows.old folder containing my programs in a folder, which all need to be re-installed. I can see my Microsoft Works Word Processor, but it won't let me run the installation on it. I tried running it in compatibility modes for every available option, but nothing works. I also ran it as an administrator. How can I legally re-install these programs I purchased? I have tons and tons of .wps files that I want to be able to open with a program I purchased with my computer. Yes, I have heard of OpenOffice and it does not support .wps files. I do have Microsoft Office Professional 2013 installed, but it can't seem to open .wps files (unless I'm wrong).

A:Microsoft Works Word Processor

Microsoft Office 2013 is capable of opening Works 6-9 documents in a Compatibility mode.

To do that in Word 2013 you need to go File - Open - Computer - Browse.
In Open window you have to select a filter:
All files (*.*) or Works 6 - 9 Document (*.wps)

Hi Everyone,I did a quick search of the forums and didn't come up with anything similar to the problem I've just started having with MS Word.I'll be working on a document and saving my work every so often. Then all of a sudden Windows starts telling me that it can't save the file. I goofed and didn't think quick enough to get a screen shot of that message. However, I was able to copy past everything, from the document I was trying to save, to a new document, which is what I did as I had already had the same thing happen to me a couple of times before. Then when I clicked 'Yes' I get "This" message.OK, so then I click 'No on exit to close the document and got "This" asking if I wanted to save the changes to the document. Then I Just click No because that's the only option that will let me close that application. Then when I try to open it again I get "This" dreaded message.Have any of you guys ever run into anything like this before? It doesn't seem to matter if the document only has ten pages or if it has one hundred ten pages. Nor does it seem to matter if I have a lot of images in it or none at allI am at a loss as to what to do to prevent this form happening in the future. At least I have a work around that I can use so as not to lose my entire document..., but this is still just a bit nerve wercking. Thanks for any help or advice guys.Wendy

Hi

I've got Word at work and the Windows XP(home edition) Works word processor at home -- but they don't seem to be compatiable when I bring a disk home with a Word file.

Any tips?

A:Microsoft Works and Word -- compatible??

In Word 2000, there's a Save As Works 2000 option. If your file is anything other than very basic, you'll be prompted that "some features may be lost". I just tried it with a Word doc containing a table (Works WP files doesn't do tables), sure enough it came out pretty screwed.

You could always download OpenOffice for use at home -- it opened the file (Word version) no problem.

The program first choice in the "save as" menu is .wps which is unreadable to many she has to submit documents to and also takes up much more space. Is there any way I can change the defaults or just make the .rtf the first choice in her choices of saving files?
thanks bunches in advance

I suspect DEP isnt turned off or it wouldn't be able to "shut down word". You can however, simply add word to DEP's exception list and it will ignore it.

Please can anyone suggest the cause of the problem and how it can be resolved?

I was typing a document, saved it and closed it. When I went back to get I got this message:"In order to open this file Works needs to use a file converter, which may pose a security risk if the file you are opening is a malicious file. Choose OK to open this file if you are sure it is from a trusted trusted source."

When I click OK I get this:"Works cannot open (file name). The file may be in use by another application, the format may not be supported by any of the installed converters, or the file may be corrupt." and then receive a blank page.

Does anyone know what this is and how I can get my doc. back. This is happening with a few docs. but not all.

Thank You

A:Microsoft Works Word Processor

Please consider this only a suggestion as I am not sure I understand the program problem you

are having, . . as I am only familiar with word pad, etc.

but open a new file of the word processor and click save and then check the drop down under
the title window and check the options you have to save as, is it possible that an optional choice may be what you need to do ?

Are you able to find the documents that you are not able to open ?

My system is Windows XP and I feel my computer user level is just basic. I have lost all the history in my Microsoft Works(7.0) Word Processor. (no clue how it got lost)When I go to My Documents I can see all the files from history but I cannot open any of them. When I try to open a file it directs me to buy Word Perfect(R) 11 software with an upgrade to Word Perfect 12 for $99.00. Should I buy the software? Is there a way to move the files back into the Word Processor history? Next to each file in My Documents it says WPEntrust Signed Document.

A:Microsoft Works Word Processor History

MS Works has nothing to do with Word Perfect! MS Works is related to MS Office. If you are looking for your documents, have you tried launching Works and going to File/Open to see what is there? Perhaps you had a trial version of Word Perfect in your computer, too. If you like the word processor in Works, perhaps you should upgrade to Word 2007 instead -- Word is a much larger, more diversified program than the abbreviated version in Works.

Hello, I'm not very good with computers so bare with me please

I am a university student and today when I went to open my class notes in Microsoft Works Word Processor I found nothing but a blank page. The file was still there, with the exact same name, but all the text was gone. The document contained 15 hours of lecture notes needed for an exam in 6 days, so I'm naturally pretty anxious for help. I have since turned my computer on and off. I have tried converting the file to rich text format and back, to no avail. The size of the document says a mere 16 kb now as well.

I opened the seemingly blank document with notepad, and found a bunch of jargon along with 2 interesting clues. One was very small pieces of my class notes here and there, in between the coding and jargon. The second was towards the end of the coding, where it said various random things about my HP printer. I did perform a printer test today, and was wondering if that did anything to delete or corrupt my notes.

I performed a system reset back to 5 PM (the file appeared blank at 6 PM, when it said it was last modified). The file is still blank. I have also checked through the recycle bin, nothing. I've got Windows Vista, and my computer is a Gateway Notebook, 5 months old.

These notes are very important to me and my grade in this class. I have backed up material from 3 weeks ago, but with 3 hour classes i would still be missing a lot of material >_<. Any help is much appreciated, than... Read more

I don't know what I did, but I no longer have Word or Microsoft Words 7.0 or Microsoft Publisher on my computer.
These are the disks I have:

Microsoft Works Suite > 5 disks and MS Office XP and another one called Office XP Small business.
Can anyone tell me (step by step and easy for a dum-dum to understand) how to reinstall?

When I look in add/remove programs from the Control panel, MS Works 7.0 is gone as is Word 2002 as is Publisher. All the others in the Suite are there.
When I click on the desk top shortcuts or from the start menu, I get this popping up (see attachment) for Word and Publisher.

Thanks in advance

I reset the Microsoft Works Word Processor to default with a different font size. It worked fine. Then, while setting up a printing for envelopes, I tried to reset that as a default as well. Big mistake. Now when I open the word processor program it comes up as the envelope function and I cannot get the original page for letter writing back. Microsoft was no help when I accessed their web page (too far over my head in their explanations as well as being not too user-friendly for my level of understanding). Does anyone know how I can get it open the right way again? I use Window's Vista on an Acer Extensa 5620. Thanks.

A:Solved: Microsoft Works Word Processor

This only applies for the Works word processor, the common one in Works NOT spelled with a capital W, as in Word.

First, only do this with the Work word processor not going.
If you really only want one default word processing template in Works (and it sounds like you do), and if you have no other templates that you want (and it sounds like you don't) then you can just delete all templates in this folder:
C:\Users\<YourName>\AppData\Roaming\Template\
Then, just start up the word processor and see if it is fixed.

If that is not the case, just let me know and I will adjust and tell you what else you can do, instead.

Hi

For some reason I can no longer open Microsoft Works Word Processor or any of the files I created using this programme. When I try to do so I get the following error message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item".

I uninstalled the programme and then re-installed it subsequently but still have the same problem. All other programmes in the suite such as Microsoft Calender, Database, Spreadsheet etc. are all opening OK.

If anyone can throw some light on this issue I would be most grateful.

Hi,

I am in Works 7.0, and have installed PictureIt, Encarta, Money and MS Word 2002. I can launch all of these programs from the MS Works Launcher, with the exception of MS Word. When I try to launch MS Word, I get the following error :

"The Works Launcher cannot access the task you selected. Files needed to start the program may be missing, corrupted, or may have been deleted. " (etc.)

There is not much help online for this, and what there is seems to refer back to issues with Norton Anti-virus. Problem there is that I don't have Norton installed on my PC.

I am running this under Windows 7, and have tried "run as administrator", as well as running it in XP SP3 compatibility mode.

Any help appreciated.

Hi there guys.
Okay so here's the issue.
I have an HP Pavillion a813w that had Microsoft Works pre-installed on my computer.

Now, I just did a roll back, totally reformated my computer on April 10th to total factory settings once more, so my computer is relatively unbuggy, or so I thought.
However, when I was sent a document from a friend today via AIM, and I scanned it with my virus scanner, it was clean. It had me say yes, I agree to the EULA, and then as it was loading up, it just seemed to disappear, I couldn't open up the document, and I have tried rebooting, and restoring both and it would do nothing.

I'm wondering if there's a reason for this..

I'm trying to figure this out, first time I've ever had Works do this, before I reformated that is.

I have a Works Document that I saved to a backup drive. I opened it after I saved it there to ensure that it did work correctly. I had to perform a recovery process due to Vista Errors. After I restored my computer (HP Pavillion) to its original configuration, I then tried to open this file again and recieved the following error message:

Works cannot open "C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Desktop\Paid To wps". The file may be in use by another application, the file format may not be supported by any of the installed converters, or the file may be corrupt.

This file is very important to my wife. Please help me recover this

A:Microsoft Works Error

Well, if it is corrupt, there may not be a lot you can do. There are some programs that "promise" to fix corrupt files (for about $200) and some web sites that claim the same, but if a file is really messed up, at best they may only recover part of the data.
On the other hand, it may be something as simple as another program is tying up the file. Get WhoLockMe and close those processes. Reboot, too, just for good measure.

I have tried coverters, and the best results I have received are partial, or full text with symbols. Nothing with the original documents creation form and font style. I have been told that the only true way to see these files in their original form is to run the files through Works 3.0 with Windows 3.0 with MS DOS. ( before Windows had its own operating system. )
Is anyone out here running Microsoft Works 3.0, with Windows 3.0, on top of a MS DOS operating system. These files should open in their original form, and then are able to be save in DOC. format. All helps are Welcome!

Hi.

I've been running windows xp sp3 on my home computer for over a year now, so it's slowly filling up, but never had any problems until recently.

All of a sudden my computer has started to hang; mouse and keyboard does not work anymore, everything just stops, and it stays frozen until I manually hit the reset button. Then, everything seems normal again, until all of a sudden, after two seconds of welcome screen or a whole evening of normal computing, it freezes again.

Any tips on where to look and to repair? .. Is there an error log I can pull out of the computer somewhere to see what's going on?

Let me know what kind of info you need about my computer and I'll post it.

Cheers,

Eirik

A:Computer hangs - nothing works, no error message

First guess would be possible overheating. It normally doesn't generate a warning or error message...the system just stops or freezes because the heat level exceeds (or approaches) the max the system can safely operate under.Cleaning the Interior of your PC - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/cleaning-the-inside-of-your-pc/ How to Avoid Overheating Hardware Secrets - http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/142You can always check your CPU temperature by going into the BIOS, you can check to see if all fans installed are functioning properly.Core Temp - http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ Louis

Hello,
I've searched these forums and found a partial clue to help me solve this problem, but need some additional info.

When I try to use the MS Works Calendar, I get the following error message:

"Works cannot access one or more files it need to run the Calendar. The files may have been renamed, deleted or moved. Try reinstalling Works, and then starting the program again."

I have reinstalled Works, but am still getting the same error message.

When I searched these forums, I was disappointed to find a few topics about the Works Calendar, which were closed because no one had ever replied. However, I did find this one which indicates that the problem can be solved by applying a fix from MS. But it doesn't say where to find the fix, or even name it. I have searched MS up and down, but can't seem to find whatever this member found.

So, does anyone know what fix they might have been referring to?

I'm using a rather old version -- Works Suite 2002, version 6 -- but when it works, is quite sufficient for my needs. This is on XP Home SP 3, fully updated.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your help

Error reading from file: d:\MSWORKS\Pfiles\Msworks\wkwinuni.dll. Verify that this file exists and you can access it.

I am on OS XP Home Edition. Just reloaded on the puter last week. I had Works installed at one time and then somehow got my hands on a copy of MSOffice. Well, I can't get my hands on a copy again and I can't afford to buy a new one. I have my Works 7.0 disk but I think it may be corrupted. I get the error above and I have located it, checked properties (not that I know what I am looking for ) and have tried to copy it from the disc to the shared files per other posts I have read. It says it cannot be copied because it cannot read from source file.

What do I do????HELP I need to have a word processing program.

Thanks!!

Try cleaning the CD as a first step. Wash the CD in warm soapy water, rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Not sure if this link applies, but worth a look?

My son says you are the best for troubleshooting, so here goes. I have a Toshiba laptop wireless and all the programs came pre-installed with a Recovery disk ONLY included. I have Windows XP Home Edition. My problem is with the Microsoft Works 8.0 Calendar, which was pre-installed along with Microsoft Office S&T Edition, which I do not use. The Calendar was working fine until yesterday and now I get an error message that just says "Microsoft has encountered a problem and needs to close." Then I can choose whether or not to send an error report, which I have....several times. I've read the "official" Microsoft version of the fix, but it is telling me that I possibly have a corrupted file and to reinstall it from the Works CD, which I do not have. When I run the recovery CD, there is no Microsoft Works listed in programs to recover. I'm really at a loss! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!! MomM

Hi, i have un-installed and re-installed many times, and i keep getting the error for my MS Works: WksSb.exe error 0xc0000142, cannot open. I even bought a new cd, and it still does not work. I just want to be able to use the spread sheet feature. Anyone have any ideas??

A:Microsoft Works Error - cannot open spreadsheet

FWIW: http://www.techsupportforum.com/microsoft-...0xc0000142.htmlI don't see any suggestions that I would consider definitive, so...I would probably run chkdsk /r and then run sfc /scannow as suggested in the link.Start/Run...type chkdsk /r (with space between k and /) and hit Enter. In response to onscreen query, type Y and hit Enter. Reboot system and chkdsk will run to completion and then reboot the system.Start/Run...type sfc /scannow (with space between c and /) and hit Enter. Have your XP install CD handy, if possible, since such may be requested as a source of replacement system files.Louis

I've got some strange behavior going on with .doc files at the moment. Whenever I try to open a .doc file from Windows Explorer or a desktop shortcut, Word opens with the error message "Word experienced an error trying to open the file. Try these suggestions. * Check the file permissions for the document or drive. *Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space. *Open the file with the Text Recovery converter."

After clicking OK, the .doc file then opens in Word, apparently with no problems at all (I can edit, save, etc.). So basically the error message seems to be wrong, since the file does open properly.

I can open .doc files from within Word (File -> Open) with no error message.

The issue is more of an annoyance than anything else (since the file eventually opens up just fine), but I imagine it'll just become more irritating as time goes on. Any suggestions on how to resolve it? I've been poking around in the Folder Options -> File Types in Explorer without a clear sense of purpose.

I'm running MS Word 2003 SP3 on Windows XP Service Pack 3. If you need any further info, please let me know.

Thanks for your help!

I have some old files transferred from a previous computer that say they are "Microsoft Works Word Processor" files. I have a version of Works on my current machine, but its word processor element appears to be Word. Word does not like these files. I am pretty sure that I have tried to OpenOffice them as well.

Any ideas of a free prog that will read these or, even better, convert them to a more standard format?

I used ABC Amber text convertor to convert a batch of old works files to word. Check it out here.

Hi,

I have started getting this as an error message on opening Word 2007.

"Word could not create the work file. Check the temp environment variable."

Am not able to save any word document. Also, on trying to close Word I get this error message;

"Changes have been made that affect the global template, Normal.dot. Do you want to save those changes?"

Have checked my environment variables, User Variables are set to as under;

Variable - Value
Temp - C: Documents and Settings/ABC/Local Settings/Temp
TMP - C: Documents and Settings/ABC/Local Settings/Temp

Also, the Value in the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER >Software >Microsoft >Windows >CurrentVersion >Explorer >User Shell Folders >Cache is as %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.

Pls assist in resolving this issue.

A:Word 2007 Error Message: "Word could not create the work file."

There are 2 registry paths to change:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER >Software >Microsoft >Windows >CurrentVersion >Explorer >Shell Folders
HKEY_CURRENT_USER >Software >Microsoft >Windows >CurrentVersion >Explorer >User Shell Folders

Both have the "Cache" String which should be changed. And the correct Win7 Cache path in both entries is

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Termporary Internet Files
