Solved: Microsoft Outlook 2003 Attachment Problem

Q: Solved: Microsoft Outlook 2003 Attachment Problem

When I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2003 and try to add an attachment to my e-mail everything locks up. It happens when I click the attach button & get the "insert file" box. When I click the "Look In" drop down menu that's where it locks up. Anyone know what would cause this? It has worked fine up until last night. (I'm runny Microsoft-XP Home Edition)

UPDATE: I just tried changing a jpeg on a Microsoft Publisher 2003 file and it locked up too. Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone seen this before? Outlook 2003, part of Office 2003 Pro install on Windows XP, when opening a Word .doc attachment Word opens up and flashes the document then closes the document. If Word is already open, then the document opens fine. Here are the steps a little more clear.

Email comes in with Word .doc attached.
Double click on attachment to open in word.
click open
word opens up, the document opens and then closes, word stays open.

A:Outlook 2003 attachment problem

Does this happen with any .doc that you're mailed or is it just one specifically?

Suddenly cannot open html attachments in Outlook. Last week, internet explorer quit working. I spent some time cleaning and checking (HJT, AdAware, AVG), then finally had to uninstall GoogleToolbar. Got back online, and things seemed fine. However, I could not open any of my work emails that contained html attachments. I did not change any settings, but I did install Office 2003 SP3. When I forward these emails to my laptop, I can open them without problem. The laptop does not have Office 2003 SP3 installed. Does anyone know what setting must be fixed to be able to open html attachments again?

Hi everyone my first post here, I need some help with a problem on outlook 2003.
The problem is that every time I go to send an e-mail on outlook and try to attach any file the program freezes and with not respond!!!

I can still receive all e-mail’s with attachments and view them, I can even forward them to other addresses I just can attach them my self!!!

What happens is I go to the “clip” button then go to a folder on “My documents” then freezes and say “not responding”.

I have had this running fine for 6 months and I don’t know why it is happening now??

Just to make think interesting I have transferred all the “address book, inbox, outbox, etc to “Outlook Express” and it run with no problems at all!!!

So if any can suggest any thing that would be very helpful?

Thanks Jason

A really silly 'problem' but it's driving me crazy...

When I receive an email attachment and I open it, I used to get the prompt which asked whether I wished to open or save to disk. It's the one which will pop up each time as long as the tick box remains ticked. Well, I accidentally unticked it and now when I click on an attachment it opens up without the prompt.

How do I get my prompts to return??

Like I said, silly, but it's the way I prefer it...

Thanks muchly in advance and any advice gratefully received.

PS this is not the first time I have done this, but for the life of me I cannot remember how I put it right the first time...

A:Outlook 2003, attachment problem

Check out this link. The directions are simple and it worked for me.

I had this problem with .CSV files. They would automatically open instead of giving me a prompt. Now it works fine.

You might have to check several extensions .doc .csv etc and check to make sure the appropriate box is checked.

Running Outlook 2003, SP1 OK but now will not let me attach attachments - I get 'Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows...' error. This is regardless of size of attachment or if nil else running, and plenty of memory. No probs with Eudora or Thunderbird. I am not sure what I did at the time this problem occurred, but still persists after re-install of Outlook. Thanks for any suggestions

Recently I must have done something inadvertently in my outlook as I can no longer open links in any email messages. When I try, the following message appears: "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on your computer. Please contact your system administrator." By the way, it is a home computer and I am the system administrator. I called Bell Support as I thought maybe it had something to do with the new McFee Virus Protection that Bell switched to but the issue appears to be related to something I may have done in outlook myself. The tech could not locate the problem. Any ideas? In order to open link I have to cut and paste it into google or such but with some links, this does not work. Any help on this issue would be most appreciated. I am not particularly tech savvy so please keep this in mind when you respond. Thank you.

What is happening is that the same email comes in each time Outlook refreshes to check for new mail. Could anyone please help with this problem? Thanks in advance.

edit: Went into Yahoo mail and deleted the repeating email. It seems to have done the trick. Should have tried that before posting. Thanks anyway!

Hi All

OK when I compose an email, font is in 12 Arial Narrow, but the email when it reaches the recipient and also my sent folder the font is quite tiny, why does this change?

I have been to Tools > Options > Stationery and Fonts - I clicked on all three > Choose Font Options and they are all under Arial Narrow 12, this text is more than big enough when I am composing the email but for some reason it changes, does anyone know where I must go to stop the fonts changing when its sent? (yes I did click apply when i reset the font size)

Do I have to increase the font size to something like 26 for it to be normal size in recipients email in boxes?

It's really stumped me, I know my email did not always do this.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Forgot to mention - Microsoft Office 2003 has all its updates and I am using XP Pro which is all up to date also.

Hello people. Thank you for reading this! I have a problem. I use MS Office 2003. I just bought a new computer since my old one was just dying. That's a different story. I took the PST file from my old one, and put to work on my new machine. Now, when I click on CONTACTS, below MAIL, I see all of my contacts. But when I compose a new massage, and click on "TO:” there is nothing there!! So in order for me to write a letter to a contact, I need to open up my "Contacts" and RIGHT CLICK on one and choose "Compose a New Message", which is totally unacceptable because some e-mails I write, I want to have multiple receivers of. Everything else is fine. All of the folders and subfolders I have, are there. Just this. Please help??

I just installed Outlook 2003 for one of the users on our corporate network as part of Office 2003. The user gets this message "A program has the file attachment <SUBJECT OF EMAIL> open. Changes to this document will be lost unless you save your changes to another file by clicking the File menu of the other program, and then clicking Save As."

This happens when the user is viewing emails using the Reading Pane and then clicks onto a different email. The strange thing about this is the email does not have any attachments and no other programs are running.

The OS is Windows XP and the user connects to our exchange server locally using an exchage account.

I will attach an image with as much detail about the problem as I can without violating confidentiality.

I have recently created an Access Database application that e-mails a report snapshot and an Excel spreadsheet to a list of users. The old e-mail would have a command button on the left with a text box listing the attachments included (after the To, CC, and Subject areas). Now it includes the attachments in the body. This is a nuisance, and I would like to make the attachment box re-appear with the attachments listed there instead. Anybody have any ideas as to how to accomplish this?

Problem was resolved by making the body as html instead of regular text. Not sure why this resolved the problem... but it did!

A:Outlook 2003 attachment error

Google has a lot to say on this, all in the following respect:

Microsoft Outlook uses a temporary folder to save and open the attachments.
By default that folder is:
C:\Documents and Settings\%USER_NAME%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK#\ (where # is a random number)

Some of the latest security updates for Windows XP are preventing folders to be created in that folder.
The solution is to use the regular TEMP folder.

1. Using REGEDIT.EXE locate the following key:
My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Security

2. Modify the Key "OutlookSecureTempFolder", by replacing "Temporary Internet Files" with "Temp". For example:
OLD VALUE: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLKxxx\

NEW VALUE: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\OLKxxx\

(xxx will be a number specific to your setup)

3. Restart Microsoft Outlook.

When the email arrived for me and I opened it the music started to play automatically, however when I try to forward it to other family members the music is an attachment.
In order to get the music to play on the forwarded copy the attached file has to be opened and then of course there is no slide show ...only Windows Media Player screen open.
I have never had this happen before and wonder if I can fix this issue in order for me to forward it?

Hi All

This one has stumped me for ages now.

We have MS outlook 2003 SP3 installed on the computers in our organization.

When a user attaches a file to an email, the attachment appears in the bar under the subject line.

Along side the attachment is an 'Attachment Options' Button.

When we press this button, a sidebar appears giving the options of either Regular attachment or Shared attachment.

Our organization doesn't support shared attachments so we want to remove this 'Attachment Options' button completely so that there is no way a user can select a shared attachment.

I've trawled the registry, group policy, outlook options, and the web but I cant see any way of removing this option button.

Anyone out there have any ideas?

I have a new machine with Windows 2000 Pro and using Outlook 2003. This machine was running fine for 3 months and then the user started getting the error I have stated below. The user is setup on the local machine as an Administrator.

If I try to open an attachment from User A in Word 2000 (.rtf) the attachment opens fine. So then when I again receive and email attachment(.rtf) from user A or any other user the following error occurs...

"Can't Create file: Packing List file. Right click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder."

If I try to do a "Copy" or "Save As" on the file then again the I get the error stated above. From this point I restart Outlook and I can again actually open the attachment that was giving me the error but when I try to open a second attachment, then I get the error again. I only get this error with .rtf files. Excel and other office files open just fine as attachments.

Any suggestions on what to do to fix this problem?

Does anybody know how to get rid of the horizontal lines between emails?

In my "Sent" folder I have horizontal lines between each email. I don't have the horizontal lines in any pother folder though.

This has only been apparent since having my computer back from a repair shop (for a memory upgrade)

A:Solved: Microsoft Outlook 2003

The memory upgrade didn't have anything to do with it. It's a view setting. I don't have Office 2003 installed anymore, so I can't give you specific steps. You'll have to look over the different view settings for the various folders in Outlook to compare them and make the necessary changes.

About a month ago when I was making a new image, I migrated from Outlook Express to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (always used the rest of Office but never the email till I made this image) as this is what most work places use where I have worked,

However when I open Microsoft Office Outlook I have it set to send/receive as soon as connected (is what the settings says) most of the time when I open this program it down loads strait away emails from my service provider that has arrived, but every so often it does nothing.

When I open the program I don’t even get the "send/receive complete" message which tells me that there are no emails or it has finished down loading them, and I have to click on the send/receive and then emails down load.

Would anyone know why it does not always do the down load thing every time?

I know not a biggy as far as problems go, but i never encountered this in Outlook Express. Apart from that, it's working perfectly, it's just i am not up on the knowledge as much on Microsoft Outlook as i am with Outlook Express, even though i used it in the work situation and provided desktop support for it,

I got 3 clients that get the a similar problem.

All can't open some .PDF attachments from within Outlook 2003

Acrobat reader 9.1 (updated to this date)
MS Outlook 2003 (updated to this date)
Windows XP pro (SP3 all updated)

When trying to open document you get "wrong version or damage" message from acrobat reader.
They have forward the mail to me (The Administrator) and i have no problem what so ever to open it and read it.

My first tip was to save it onto there computer but that dident work, they ended up with a filename.PDF that was 0 in size.

What iw tried so far.

-Making the user a member of the local administrator group, so that if acrobat or outlook needed to install something this would be possible. (this did not work so i change em back to normal user)
-Empty the Outlook TEMP folder (only shown from within the registry, and this didn't help at all)
-Check rights on TEMP folders
-Installed language packs, if there where a font problem. (think the document is from Russia or something)
The problem seems to be Outlook oriented. because if i use the exchange webmail and open the pdf that way it opens just fine.

Any one got a similar experiance with a sulotion ?

A:Unable to open pdf attachment in Outlook 2003

Is it possible that there is embedded Java script in the file? I know of other issues with this and there is a box to check off in the Preferences under Java Script. This option recently drew some concern from Adobe though because of a potential malicious code exploit, so I'd wonder about those PDF's from Russia.

Not sure if this advice will help, I hope you get it resolved.

My OS is Windows XP64.  And the version of the kernel32.dll is as follows:
c:\windows\system32 contains:
kernel32.dll (size 1483Kb) version 5.2.3790.5295 (srv03_sp2_qfe.140205-1447) dated 2/6/2014

...and they match the versions that are in the DLL cache folder.
Things I tried (unsuccessfully):
1.  Doing a regsvr32 kernel32.dll came back with "kernel32.dll was loaded, but..." ( I don't recall the exact message... something about DllRegisterServer not called or found).
2.  Scanning the PST for errors (and fixing).
3.  Doing a repair install on Microsoft Office 2003.
4.  Attempted to re-install Office 2003 SP3 (didn't work as it's already installed).
5.  Installed MS14-019/KB2922229 (installed successfully-- no affect)
I started to do a sfc /scannow ...but I was afraid to allow it to restore DLLs from the WinXP64 Disc into cache because I feared they would be older than the dated 2/6/2014 files and thus cause worse problems.  What Windows Update installed these 2/6/2014 dated kernel32.dll files?  Maybe I could uninstall that KB update and then re-install it???

Hi everyone

hoping someone can assist with a tweak to Outlook 2003.

For some reason everytime i try and open an attachment in Outlook i get a warning saying "You should only open attachments from a trustworthy source" I then get an option to open, save or cancel. This is SO annoying.

Under the open, save or cancel options is a ticked check box which is flagged 'Always ask before opening this type of file'. Now i know this is the area i need to 'uncheck' so it doesn't always ask me before opening this type of file, however this option is 'greyed out' (ie i can not uncheck the check box!!).

I hope i have explained that well enough for someone to stear me in the right direction.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Cheers / Jason

Hi everybody! Maybe somebody on here could help me out? I have a HUGE problem! I currently use Outlook Express on Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, I had bought Microsoft Office 2003 Professional! I obviously want to use Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 as my e-mail client! The problem that I'm encountering, is my entire address book in Outlook Express, is written in Russian language! Even my American friend's names are written in Russian! (Spelled with Russian letters) When I do the export and import, the entire address book is not readable! It's a bunch of signs and symbols, basically not readable! How do I import/export the address book, so I can see who am I composing to?

I installed Office 2007 on all the new computers in our office including mine. After about 3 weeks Outlook 2007 stopped allowing me to attach items to an email. What I mean is whenever I tried to attach anything to an email Outlook 2007 would lock up and never recover. After much frustration and no solutions I downgraded to 2003. Everything worked perfect for about 3 months. Now same exact problem in 2003. All I have to do is click the attachment button and and it opens the explorer and when I click a file to attach it locks up forever. I have now un-installed re-installed and nothing is working. I have run multiple memory tests and the memory seems fine. I dont have system restore enabled.

When you send an e-mail or receive one from outlook, by default it looks for the person in your contacts and puts the display name up instead.

But when reading the e-mail it displays

John Doe [mailto:[email protected]]
To: Jane Doe

How do you get rid of the mailto:etc, etc ??? I would prefer a hyperlink instead of the mailto because then it reveals the person's e-mail address.

I know you could just hover over it or click on the hyperlink to find out the e-mail, but I'm just asking for the purpose of printing. I don't want my e-mail address shown in a long stream of E-mail send's and replies between a friend when I print it.

If there is a setting in Outlook to turn this off, please let me know, I fooled around with everything and I cant get it to work.

I don't know what that does to people you send to I would think it depends on their setting...

The header of the message box says Microsoft Office Word

I reinstalled the program but that didn't help !

Does anyone have any ideas or possible solutions?

Run the Detect and Repair option In Outlook 2003,

If that fails to correct the problem:
With Outlook 2003 closed,

key in or copy and paste in the Run box:
Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll
Click Enter

Let us know if that makes a difference.

I'm about to buy a new p.c. to replace my 7 year-old model (lucky me!). I want to download ALL my Outlook emails on to a stick for storage and for potential upload to the new p.c. I recently downloaded the programme as an experiment, but am unable to access the emails on the stick, although the icon is present.

Do I have to restore to the p.c. before I can access the information on the stick? I am hesitant to try this on my current machine as if I restore the version stored on the stick I assume this will override what is currently in Outlook, thereby losing any newer emails.

Hope I've explained my problem adequately and look forward to some help.

For example, is it possible to automatically have Microsoft Outlook 2003 synchronise elements such as the address book and e-mail messages? I am looking at a way to avoid having to manually update new contacts, etcetera, on both machines.

More can I have the "Data File" (".PST") automatically updated between the two machines?

Many users have this experience: they are supposed to attach certain documents to their email before sending out to recipients but they forget. This simple mistake creates inconvenience to the sender and the recipients as the email will have to be resent. Besides, it can be quite embarrassing especially if the senders have to send important documents on behalf of their company. A less than professional impression is surely to be avoided. To avoid this unnecessary embarrassment, there are some useful plug-in applications which can help if you are using Microsoft Outlook 2007. These useful applications serve as email filter which will detect and scan your outbound messages for some typical keywords that you normally use when attaching files, e.g. file, attached, attachments, etc. These email reminder tools will alert or prompt users with notifications or dialog boxes to serve as reminders. Some of these tools include:

I'm having a strange problem with Microsoft Word 2003 SP3.

It only happens on new docs. I'm a writer and when I open ongoing projects in Word everything is fine, but when I open a new doc. my Page Setup doesn't work. If I set it to have 1" of space top, bottom and sides, it doesn't work on the top. My first line starts at the very top of the page.

Also, the ruler up the left side should be dark where that top inch of space should be, but it isn't because it's not working. I discovered a temporary fix in Page Setup by setting the top space to be 2" and the sides and bottom to be 1". However, even doing this I don't get the dark inch or so at the top of my left margin ruler.

I did a repair in ADD Remove Programs but it didn't change anything. It might be a corruption in Word because I have the same Office 2003, SP3 on my laptop and I've compared all the settings on both computers and they appear to be identical.

Has anyone here run into this problem, and do you think uninstalling and reinstalling Office might solve the problem?

Thanks in advance.

I am pretty familiar with ol2K, but this ol2003 problem has me stumped.

My wife is running Office2003 under WinXP Pro SP2. Some of the "actions" that I would expect to be dynamic, i.e., they happen when I click on the relevant button or menu pick do not seem to happen until ol is exited and restarted. For example:
1) when ol is started, the pop mail server is queried and any mail downloaded. But I can find no way to tell ol to periodically query the mail server for new mail. No new mail comes down until the next time ol is started. Clicking on the Send/Receive button does nothing. The setting in Tools|Options|MailSetUp|Send/Receive are what I think they should be.
2) similarly, when a message is sent, it sits in the Outbox until ol exits. Clicking on the Send/Receive button does nothing.
3) the Favorites area contains a few folders including the InBox. When ol starts, the InBox "reference" in Favorites and the reference in "All Mail Folders" are identical. But after new mail is fetched, the apparent content in the two references is different. Only the Favorites reference contains the new mail. The All Mail Folders reference does not. Again, ol must be exited and restarted for the references to be the same. Examining properties for the two InBox indicate that they are exactly the same pst file (as they should be).

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe Outlook 2003 has become corrupted and produces the following error when I attempt to open it: Unable to Open Default Email Folders. Errors have been detected in Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst.

There is a multitude of info on the net regarding this error and I believe I have tried everything including some Demo repair software. Scanpst.exe will not work.

I have set up Outlook on a different profile and managed to import emails and contacts but not account info, which is fine. But I am unable to move this over to the user where I need it to reside. Even after deleting and reinstalling on the user profile the error persists. I am guessing there is something in the registry that is preventing Outlook from opening, solely on this user profile.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am using Outlook 2003 (not express) and McAfee Anti Virus. Whenever I send an email to a group from my contacts in my address book, it goes into my outbox, sends a garbled message, and remains in the outbox. If I go in and open the message and resend it, it goes out OK. If I move my group email into the outbox before sending it and then send it from the outbox, it works OK as well.

When I send e-mails to single users or to many users, they go out OK. This only happens when I use a group from my contacts in the address book.

I've been running an Outlook 2003 client to my AOL mail using IMAP for quite a while.
I just tried to create a 2nd connection to my gmail account and I have been unable to establish the connection.
I was pretty careful following the gmail instructions - enabling IMAP there; and, I was also pretty careful to follow the instructions on the outlook side. But, I've gone over it and over it and can't find the problem.....

It's caused me to wonder if Outlook 2003 can manage 2 IMAP connections at the same time?

I also noticed that the AOL connection in Outlook requires specific ports for each connection (send/receive) but there was nothing about that in the gmail instructions.

I also know that I've entered incorrectly several times. But, unless I'm going blind, I entered correctly for the address of the outgoing mail server.

O/S -: Windows XP SP3

Application -: Outlook 2003 11.8206.8202 SP3

Email Server Type -: IMAP

Background -: Recently re-installed MS Office 2003, due to Word/Exel/Outlook crashing with a 0xc00000005 exception (turned out it was a Network Printer problem which I've now resolved)

Current Problem -: Outlook is downloading TWO IDENTICAL COPY emails, and If I delete or send to Junk Folder one copy, it deletes/moves the other copy!

If I view my emails using my Web Browser based email client, I only see ONE copy of the email (as it should be)

A couple of things I've noticed about Outlook behaving differently is -:
a) The Send/Receive progress % does'nt show anymore

b) If I navigate on Outlook to Tools, Option, Mail Setup - when I select the Send/Receive Options, nothing happens (there are no further options). the same is true if I try to access the Send/Receive Options via the toolbar

c) The 1st of the duplicate emails is blank with the following header -: "This is a message header. The Full Item has not been downloaded", the 2nd duplicate email has the relevant email information

Any ideas?

It depends on the incoming email that you are copying the text from. Not all of them come in as HTML it depends on the senders email format. If it comes in a splain text replying to it will go out as plain text, same goes for copying a massage with formatting other than HTML.

In Outlook Express, when I try to open attached jpeg images in e-mails , I get the following message. How do I create the association....where is the Folder Oprtions control panel?

"This file does not have a program for performing this action. Please create an association in the Folder Options control panel. "

A:Outlook Express Attachment Problem

When you open the Control Panel, you can click on Tools> Folder Options.
The easiest way to create an association is to see what the extension of the attachment is.
If an image like .jpeg or .gif, either find a file saved on your computer with the extension or save the attachment and then right click on the file and a menu will appear with the option Open with as one of the choices. After selecting Open with and then Choose program and you will be presented with a list of installed programs on your computer. Find the one you want to use to view image files and select it and also check the box that says Always use the selected program to open this kind of file and click OK.
For image files you can use any imaging software you may have installed or you can use
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. If a .doc extension, use whatever word editor you have.

Hi Everyone,

Have an interesting problem with Outlook 2007. When our president sends emails with attached files or attches a screen print graphic, it does not show up for some recipients. Now I started by trying to have the recipients check their security settings but that seems to not be the problem. They say they receive the attachments from other people so they are not the problem. Now in the same respect, the president can send the attachments to many other people and domains without problems but just not this handful of people.

Is there any rules or settings that I should look into that may be the issue? Could it be possible that Outlook 2007 has a setting that I am not seeing that may be blocking attachments to certain emails/domains?

Any help is always appreciated.

Here is the situation:

We use Outlook Express here at work. We have a customer who frequently sends spreadsheets and documents to one of our sales people. When the email comes into her Outlook Express it shows no attachment or sometimes it might show winmail.dat. I had the customer send it to me and one other person here at work and we both got the attachments without any problem. After several more tests, we always receive the attachments but she never does. We are all using Outlook Express with Win XP home edition. I cannot make sense of this. Why is ours working but hers is not?

If anyone can address this I would certainly appreciate it.

Greetings. I am trying to insert a Word attachment into an email. I want it to be included in the body of the message, not at the bottom in a separate pane. I've looked on Microsoft's KB and they say I need to select Microsoft Outlook Rich Text format. However, my only options are Plain text or Rich text. The regular Rich text still doesn't do the trick. Please help! Is there a patch I need?

Sounds like you're using Word as the email editor. If that's true, you may need to turn that off.

Perhaps then you can choose Outlook RTF.

I have always gotten great help from these forums and I'm hoping someone can help me once again because I just cannot seem to figure out what the heck is going on! It started last week when I opened an email with an attachment that was a .mov file from a videographer I work with. The file was messed up- first it only played audio- but then when I updated quicktime, it wouldn't play at all. It gave me an error message whenever I tried to open it. But since then, I have deleted the email permanently that contained the link, and even deleted the new, working files off my computer.

However, ever since then, everytime I press the "attach" button in Outlook and try to browse my files, a popup comes up in the background that says, "The movie file "01-sara-FIN-00000001" cannot be found. Without this file, the movie cannot play properly." Then it gives the option to press "cancel" or "search." If you press cancel, the same exact popup comes up again and you have to hit cancel again. Then it goes away. If you press search, it gives you a directory of the system32 folder and asks to locate the file. The problem, besides just a minor annoyance, is that a lot of times it doesn't popup to the front of my screen, and if I don't see it, if I try to click on a file to attach to my email, it freezes Outlook every single time. What can I do to make this stop?? It's like it's stuck on one file I tried to play ... Read more

Hey guys,

I have a bit of a weird situation with one of my clients. Hope somebody can see something here that I haven't!

One of our customers regularly attached 44 contact lists from her contacts to an email and sent these to one of her clients, monthly. The client would receive the email and be able to pull the contact lists directly to her own contacts.

Our client had Office 2003, her client has had Office 2007 for a while now. A week ago, our client upgraded to Office 2007. Since then, the problems have started.

Now, when our client attaches those distribution lists and sends them on to her client, the receiving end doesn't see a card icon but sees an envelope. When you open the envelope (double click on attachment) you're basically looking at an empty email. When you try and pull the attachment to the contacts, it opens a contact screen with the current user's information. The same thing happened when my client sent the same email to me, I'm also using Office 2007.

I assumed that there was probably a virus scanner or something filtering incorrectly. As my client needed to get these files to her client asap, I helped her zip the necessary distribution lists by creating a folder called "address" on the desktop, dragging the distribution lists to the folder, zipping the folder and sending it. I sent it to myself first: when I unzipped the file and looked at the I saw the correct icon. When I double clicked on the file, I got the cor... Read more

When trying to go to the inbox through send/receive, microsoft exchange server, inbox i get an error message saying

"Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x8004060C) : 'The message store has reached its maximum size. To reduce the amount of data in this message store, select some items that you no longer need, permanently (shift + del) delete them.' "
I permanantly deleted everyone of my emails and still get the message. It has only just recently started to do this so a bit confused. Just downloaded all updates too on both xp and outlook 2003.

Using Outlook 2003. (on Windows XP Pro).
I am trying to customize the toolbars (small icons) at the top of New Mail.
On Tools, i go to Customize. When that box comes up, I can drag away any of the icons that I do not want.
If I send the mail, and then slickj on New Mail, the same customized format (toollbars & icons) comes up.
but if I exit Outlook, and then open the program agian, New Mail reverts to the default and all my customizations are lost.
Any solutions?

It only happens in New Mail. Other cusomtizations (on sent itmes, etc et c) all stay put.
