Solved: Inserting a "calendar" onto Microsoft Publisher page

Q: Solved: Inserting a "calendar" onto Microsoft Publisher page

I need to have 4 months (june, july, aug., sept) at the top of a publication and was wondering how to insert 4 monthly calendars. I'm highlighting every other Friday for these months and need to know how to download the calendars. I was able to create calendars using the "table" feature, but thought my calendar idea might be much easier for the future, as I have to do this every 4 months.

A: Solved: Inserting a "calendar" onto Microsoft Publisher page

You might try going to Microsoft's Template download area. There might be a design you can adapt for your use.

I'm not sure if this is a printing problem or a software problem, but here goes:
I used Microsoft Publisher to design an index card. I have 200 index cards to print now and I can't get the printer (Canon imageclass d320) to print them. I have tried printing them as "envelopes" because there is no "index" card setting, and that will not work. I also tried running them both directions (horizontal and vertical). The manuel says it will print index cards, but I'm wondering now if they are the kind that are on one sheet (like you print business cards).

I have Windows XP "Home Edition" on my computer now, and I need to learn EXCEL (because I'm using it at work and I have never used it before), so my boss sent me home with the disk from the computer at work which is the entire WIndows XP Professional with Front Page. How can I just install Excel off of that disk? I don't want to install the whole thing because I don't need it. Is this possible?

If it isn't possible, then can I install the whole "Professional edition" and keep it separate from my home computer software (home edition), possibly under another user account or something like that?

I am hoping that someone can help me with what may be a complex question.

I have a spreadsheet, similar to the demonstration file I have attached. In it, there are a range of columns. One set of columns (A - D), shows a list of numbers that are references to items in a store, and it also shows their location in the store, so it acts as a floor-plan. The next column (E) lists those items again to show the dollar amount that those items have produced in total sales (F).

So, what I'd like to do is to add a conditional formatting to show me the "cold" and "hot" spots on the floor-plan so I can see where sales are most concentrated. I would assume that this would be done with a colour scale (using the range of values in column F to work itself out)?

Either way, the figures in column F would change weekly, so the relevant cells in columns A - D would need to automatically change when they're matching cells in column E - F change.

I hope this makes sense, as it's difficult to explain, but any help that someone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

In Windows XP, fully updated, I have several folders full of mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.

But all the figures in the "Duration" column appear to be in "hours" and "minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03", but what I want is "minutes" and "seconds".

Any thoughts as to how to change this?

I have made a setup.exe file to distribute to our customers.
I run it from IE.

After the Run Save Cancel popping up it says "unknown publisher" (see attached image)

How can I assign a publisher to my EXE? I at least want it to say Publisher: MyName rather than unknown.

I guess for that warning to go away I need to purchase a Verisign or something but I hear thats expensive?
I would settle for the warning to at least mention my name !

Hi, I am having a problem with my newer computer, I just got this rig a few months ago and never had a problem until last Thursday. It Blue Screened on me while I was installing ARC GIS 10.1. From then on it randomly crashes. (I have previously installed ARC GIS 10 and never had a problem.)

I keep things updated (windows and drivers) and I do think windows forced through an update earlier that day. I un installed ARC GIS 10.1 and the windows update, didn't make any difference. I have also ran the Windows Mem test and Auslogic BoostSpeed/ Registry repair. I keep getting "Bad Pool Header" and "Page In Nonpage Area" and I can't seem to find something that triggers it. So far it hasn't crashed in Safe Mode without network access. I tried it once with access and it crashed. Currently have windows checking the drives for errors ( I have 4).

I think I attached the proper dump files. This is my work computer so this is kind of causing a big problem. Thanks in advanced for the help!!

Hi guys, first off I haven't been here for help in years literally this was the first place I thought of because a few years ago many generous people helped me solve my problem, this place is awesome. Please pardon me as I am only decently literate with computers but try my best.

Ok I am trying to solve an annoying problem for my parent's computer. My dad was typing a normal document in Microsoft Word (OS is XP with System Pack 2, and it is Word 2002) and he said that just yesterday for the first time, after typing for maybe a half hour, a window would pop up with a "runtime error" and it would freeze untill he clicked ok on it, and it would then shut down loosing all his work that he didn't save.

So I got on the computer and opened Microsoft Word, and was able to duplicate the problem time after time but not every single time. When I simply open word, then click to close Word, the box appears, and he verified it is the same box he saw. It says exactly as follows, no more, no less, and every time reads the same -

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10\WINWORD.EXE
abnormal program termination

So I tried to research it, and came across a fix on Microsoft's support site saying remove something called COM Add-ins. I did so by following each step removing the one COM add in i found, and it did not resolve the problem at all. It still errors out. SO I grabbed the master disk and un... Read more

Hi, I am having a problem arranging items (pictures) in a program I use. I understand how the arrangement usually works, like in a folder and how to get it to auto arrange, and arrange by name etc. but I cannot get them to arrange consistently through the ?look in? box (the box that comes up when I press INSERT IMAGE). It is nothing to do with the particular program, since the look in box is part of windows. Here is my problem:
Here is a picture of the look in box: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...00/qImage1.jpg I need to arrange items by name automatically. I can right click and press arrange items then press the ?by name? tab, and all items do get sorted by name (see pic http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...00/qImage3.jpg ) here is them arranged by name http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...00/qImage4.jpg

However I press OK and insert the image, when it comes time to insert the new image I have to right click again and press arrange by name. I know it doesn?t take long to do, but I have to do this to over 500 images!
Things I did to try and resolve this: I opened the main folder up and pressed the VIEW tab then said to show only the ARRANGE BY NAME box. I was hoping this would fix it since it?s the only one I left selected- no help though. I also enabled auto arrange hoping this would help, but it did not. do the picture as an attachment instead of using Photo Album or Single Picture, that is the only way I know to keep the original size. You can also copy and paste the image into the body of the email from the program you are using to edit from, that will keep the same size also

I am running Windows XP SP3, fully updated, on an Acer lap top PC.

I have several folders full of .mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. To do this I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.

The two new columns appear, but the format of the "Duration" column appears to be "hours:minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03" for most .mp3's, when what I want to see is 'hours:minutes:seconds", e.g. "00:03:45".

This also happens for video files (.avi files), e.g. all my episodes of "Heroes" (sad, I know) have a duration of "00:42" instead of "00:42:xx".

Here are two pictures showing the problem with the .mp3's. The first is of Explorer showing the Duration as "Hours:Minutes":

The second picture is of the properties window of the first .mp3 in the list above:

I am trying to upgrade my 3 year old VAIO VPC-EB series laptop to a new hard drive. I got a 7200 1TB HGST hard drive. The old hard drive was 500GB. On my first attempt, I decided to backup all of my user data on another drive, restore OS (Windows 7) from Sony's recovery DVDs which I made in advance, and then restore user data. Unfortunately, this does not work because the new hard drive is an "Advanced Format" drive. Once the fresh OS starts booting, the setup complains “Windows Setup could not configure Windows on this computer’s hardware”. My understanding, Sony's answer to this issue is that they simply don't support upgrading hardware to an incompatible hard drive. It turns out I may need to install OS using a retail DVD, preferably with SP2. Well, I have several, but this doesn't work well either because for some reason the Sony VAIO activation key does not work with retail Windows 7 SP2 DVDs (and I don't have any other activation keys I can use).

Which finally brings me to the issue I mentioned in the title. The last thing I have tried is to simply create a system image of the entire install using Windows 7 backup, boot from Windows 7 recovery disk, and restore the system image onto the new hard drive. This worked pretty well until I discovered one strange issue. Whenever I run a Microsoft Windows program that requires administrator privileges (e.g. the microsoft management console mmc.exe) I get a warning message asking if I would like to r... Read more

Hello. My computer recently (less than a day ago) started to display User Account Control prompts whenever I deleted or copied that weren't in the "Users" folder, such as the Program Files folder. I am using an Administrator account, and the User Account Control is set to notify when programs make changes to Windows but without dimming my desktop. Whenever I try to delete any type of file not in the Users folder, the User Account Control prompt pops up like in the attachment. I believe there is something wrong with the "File Operation" program, because I'd imagine it would be signed by Microsoft and would automatically be elevated to Admin status so the prompt shouldn't show in the first place. Clicking on "Change when these notifications appear" doesn't do anything, but I am able to copy/delete files after clicking "yes".

I'd really appreciate help, because it's getting annoying getting this prompt whenever I want to delete or copy a file, and this prompt never appeared before when I was just deleting a file until a day ago. I'm using Windows 7. I'm just using a Windows 8 RP theme. Also, I don't want to disable UAC, since it lowers security.

I feel perhaps something happened to that certain registry key or keys related to it. But I'm not sure.

EDIT: I figured out that something was wrong with shell32.dll, so I replaced it with an unmodified copy of the file from another computer and the prompt doesn't come up anymore.

This has now been fixed by downloading WINBRAND.dll and copying it to c:\windows\system32

But "The page failed to load" still happens when right clicking My Computer and choosing properties.

I did a SFC / Scannow and something weird happened. The Command Window had an error (apologies - forgot to note which but will rerun in a moment) however the CBS Log File showed no errors and indicated SFC ran successfully.

"Unable to Display Web Page" - Disconnection Trouble

Hi All,
For the past several weeks, while on the Internet, my Internet connection will suddenly disconnect. I am able to reconnect by restarting my computer. Very annoying and inconvenient.

I called my Internet tech support and was told, the first time, that it's probably a virus and has nothing to do with them. I installed Malwarebytes, ran a full scan, and there were no threats found. I am currently running Trend Micro, which was recommended by my Internet provider, and have been using it for several years.

There are a handful of sites that I frequent regularly and I rarely go to unfamiliar web pages.
I have also noticed that when on my Etsy site, after scrolling through two or three pages of items, the screen will go black for a few seconds and then go back to normal viewing. Related? I don't know.

I have XP and there is less than 14% memory on my computer.

Any thoughts as to what my problem is and how I might solve it?

Thanks in advance,
Sandy

I finally got fed up and tried something. It worked. Here's what I did:

From "Start" go to "settings" and "Control Panel."

Click on "Add/Remove Programs." (Don't panic. We won't be removing anything.)

Select "Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP1 and Internet Tools." (Continue not to panic.)

Double-click on it and-- this is VERY important, as I don't know what headaches await if you get this wrong-- Select "Repair Internet Explorer," then "OK."

Follow the instructions, and you should be fine. I don't know if this works in XP, though, so proceed with caution.

I upgraded to IE7 from windows update but when i open it up the runonce page is displayed. However I can't choose other providers for the default search engine and when I click on the green "save settings" box it says "Settings were not able to be saved successfully." This fix is quite easy.

* Click Start > Run and type the following into the Open box:
gpedit.msc
Click OK.
* Using the left hand pane, navigate as follows:
User Configuration
> Administrative Templates
> Windows Components
> Internet Explorer
* In the right-hand side pane double-click on Prevent performance of First Run Customize settings
* Change the setting for Prevent performance of First Run Customize settings to Enabled and use the drop-down box to select Go directly to home page

* Click OK and close Group Policy
* Restart Internet Explorer 7

There are a couple of other possible fixes.

First involves a registry edit.

* Click Start > Run and type the following into the Open box:
regedit
Click OK.
* Using the left-hand pane, navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
* In the right-hand pane, right-click on RunOnceHasShown and change the value to 1
* Close Regedit and restart Internet Explorer 7

Alternatively, making the following tweak to the trusted sites also seems to work:

* Click Tools > Internet Options
* Click on the Security tab
* Click on Trusted Sites and then the Sites button

* Add the following site to the trusted zone:
*.msn.com
Click Add and then uncheck th... Read more

I posted the question a while back and never got the issue solved so I'm trying again.

Many times, when I am on a web page and I move the mouse the slightest bit the page will "go back" to the previous page I was on. Sometimes it will go back and forth. It's very random and can be quite annoying as I work online.

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm not much of a techie, so please explain very simply for me

Hello...

I was wondering if its cool to disable the vm page file, if I upgrade to xp 64 bit edition, and install 8GB of RAM? Ive never given it much thought before now... (i figure the option to disable it, is there for a reason)

With 2GB sticks on the cheap, (around 45 bucks each), i was wondering if this config could affect performance in any way.

Currently I have 4GB of RAM (only 3.5 is addressed though), and I never seem to use more than that.

Sometimes however... when i run adobe flash 8 and photoshop.. everything really slows down quite a bit. Im just looking for super fast speeds when i run these applications.

A:Solved: Ok to turn off "page file" if i have 8GB RAM, XP 64bit edition?

I wouldn't.
Windows still uses it for some data no matter how much memory you have.
You may be able to reduce it's size though.

Hi all,

I've recently noticed that when running many Windows programs with Administrator privileges that the UAC window that pops up displays the publisher as Unknown.

I can confirm from another PC that in the case of Command Prompt the publisher should display as Microsoft Corporation.

What could be causing this? Have I altered a Windows setting that resulted in this behaviour or is this indicative of malware or remote influence?

My router is password protected and I regularly run full system scans with a reputable, subscription-based anti-virus.

If this isn't related to windows settings and incorrect configurations then what could be causing this?

Thanks for your advice.

Operating sysyem is Windows XP Home SP2--Outlook Express 6--Internet Explorer 6

My problem exists when I want to "send a page" to someone from a web-site I am viewing. The format and layout of the article I am sending does not appearon the screen exactly as the original I am viewing, but instead the send page is convuluted (larger text, areas of the original page overlayed over the text, everything oversize and out of position etc.) so it is not possible for the receiver of the article to read the initial paragraph or two of the article.

In addition, the "send a page" does not allow me to make comments and I cannot clean off or remove any script overlays. I have been through all the view and tools etc. on both IE and Outlook Express and nothing clears up the problem.

This occured after I recently had to activate ActiveX to get streaming video for the NCAA basketball web-site! I have returned the IE security to the default settings but that hasn't changed my e-mail problem?!

Appreciate any suggestions. Tom

Hi Everyone,

I am stumped...I am running Windows XP SP3, 1.70Ghz 512 ram.

I recently upgraded to Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.1. I am trying to print an instruction manual I downloaded off internet. This is for a Canon Digital Camcorder. I downloaded it from Canon site. When I try to print it every page prints the word COPY across it? I've checked the Reader security settting and they look ok. I then checked the security on the download and there is no restriction for copying or printing, so I am stumped.

I downloaded another one from a different secure website and same thing. I printed something unrelated with no problem. It's strange cuz it has the same exact security setting for these docs how could that be?. Tried Adobe site couldn't find diddly on their support base. I've got to print this for tomorrow. Can anyone help?

When I look at a TECHGUYS FORUM Web Page that displays questions/problems/solutions "Error on Page" is displayed in the lower left corner of the IE Window. The following is always the detail information no matter what forum report page is reviewed:

Char: 1619
Error: Object Required
Code: 0

If I use another computer that sits in the same room with the same Operation System and Internet explorer this "Error on Page" does not occur.

I have searched all over for a solution and best I can tell this might be a missing JAVA Script.

If this is the case can you please let me know what script/object/file/application etc. is missing or requires an update and/or download?

Thanks for your time help and advice!!!

My brother's computer is running Windows 98SE and is connected to my XP machine via a Linksys router. I have no problems whatsoever accessing any internet sites or anything, but his machine is pretty messed up.

He can load his home page and connect to almost any site from his favorites list, but trying to access a webpage through the address bar (no matter if http:// or www is typed beforehand) or through the Google Toolbar, the result is always a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error. As soon as you click enter. I mean it doesn't even act like it is looking for the site, it just gives that error message right away.

I've tried emptying out the cookies and temporary internet files, but that didn't help. I reset the router settings and refreshed them but that didn't help either. I ran an Ad-Aware 6 scan and it found some browser hijack attempts along with some tracking cookies, but removing them didn't help the situation either.

I can't go on his machine to even download something like the newer version of Ad-Aware or HiJack This. I know that HiJack This can be downloaded from my machine and saved on a floppy and transferred to his computer, but I wouldn't be able to upload a log file of his machine to here (because I can't access these forums from his computer). I suppose I could save the log file to the floppy, and upload it from my computer, but I'm afraid his computer may be infected with something and I don't ... Read more

Hi everyone...We are having the strangest thing.

We have AVG 7.5 Anti-virus and firewall and also a free spyware by lavasoft....neither of which find a problem when I run them.

Oh, yes, and the problem. It is that when I try to go to , it says either page not found...and then the other day I was trying to go again, and very quickly, "http://safe-site.com" popped up in the address bar and then I was redirected to another page.....a safe one, of course....!

Also, when I use webcrawler.com, now all of a sudden certain words are being blocked out....and then if I do get to a web-site, the page may come up, but certain words are just missing, and this is also the case when I view our local news station online...the page comes up, but some words are blocked out (the story was concerning a , and the word 'suicide' was missing...but the punctuation was still there....it's just wierd.

I've browsed the postings here and tried several of the suggestions, but none have worked yet.

Ok. First try uninstalling firefox completely which means going into your program files and deleting the mozilla folder etc. After this reinstall.

That or create a new profile in the profile manager and this should clear the problem.

You could also run firefox in safe mode to see if it is an extension you installed that could be the problem.

I am running XP Pro, SP2. I just used the Registry Editor to remove "searchsquire.com," which a spyware program had identified as a serious threat. I had no trouble following the "tree" to find the entry, eventually using the "search" feature at the very end.

Now, however, when I activate "regedit" in "RUN", the last 'page' of the previous use of "regedit" comes up, not the initializing 'page.' I have rebooted but that hasn't solved the problem. How do I put 'regedit' back in service?

Thanks for any advice. {redoak}

A:Solved: "regedit" 'frozen' at previous end 'page'

Regedit "remembers" where you've been, and that's why it opens the "last page".

On the left panel, just close all the "minus" signs of the tree directory, so that all you see are:

My Computer
+ HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
+ HKEY_CURRENT_USER
+ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
+ HKEY_USERS
+ HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG

Now just close regedit and the next time you open it, it will show that "new" view.

Hey everyone,

What exactally happens when you let the compiler assign a string buffer to a pointer? ie: char* p = "Hello, world!"; but assigning the string from a superclass to a subclass pointer? Are they both handled the same?

I have the following code:
Code:
class cmd_title : public internal_cmd {

public:

cmd_title () {

m_flags=BUILTIN_CMDLINE|BUILTIN_HELP_LIST;
m_name="title";
m_doc="title [NAME]\n\r\Add a new boot entry"; //invalid instruction??
}

virtual int callback (char* cmd, int parms) {

core* p = core::get();

if (p)
p->get_bios()->puts ("\n\r%s", m_doc);

return 0;
};
};
m_doc is simply a char* declared in the base class internal_cmd. The above code seems to either page fault or cause an invalid instruction when m_doc is displayed (The call to puts() ).

An interesting thing to note is, if I shorten the m_doc string by so much it gets displayed fine and works. What is more interesting is that it will only cause a problem if I display it which has me somewhat lost.

Does anyone know what can cause this to happen? I can probably get this working if I declare m_doc as a static array, but I am curious about this one

Please keep in mind this is running in ring 0 (supervisor mode).

This makes me worried so I decided to post here to see what others ideas are. Thanks for any input

A:Solved: char* p = "string" == page fault?

I decided to not store the description string (the m_doc pointer) and just do it manually via p->get_bios()->puts ("string"); and it worked fine.

Im still unsure of why I could not store or work with any static string passed to puts() (That is, the following crashed the same way) :
Code:
static char* t = "test long string";
p->get_bios()->puts ("%s", t);
But it works fine in any other part of the code and if I do the above manually rather then storing it. Weird.

Im going to mark this solved sense I found a solution but I still am open for possible suggestions for what can cause something like this to happen...

Hey everyone,

I have had this problem for about a week now, and I have tried everything I know of to figure out what it is, with no luck. Hopefully someone has seen a problem like this before and can help.

I am running XP, SP2. I will browse the net, and after about an hour after start-up, I will get the "Page cannot be displayed" error on all pages I visit. I had Norton installed, took it off. I had IE7 installed, reverted to IE6, no help. I reset my Winsock through the CMD box, nothing. I ran the Network diagnostic, and it said I have a Winsock catalog error, but resetting it does nothing. ALl this time, I am still connected to the internet, because downloads, uploads and whatnot continue.

I tried running the WInsock fix program, nothing. Once I restart, I am fine for an hour or so, then it happens again. I can't make an HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP connection. No firewall installed, other than WIndows Firewall. I have a DSL connection. I have cycled the Modem. I am at a loss. ANyone?

A:[SOLVED] when I click on a website's "next" page button, nothing happens

Hi and Welcome to TSF!

It may be an issue with both.

Your profile states you are running Windows XP which means you can only run IE 8. Running such an older browser on new websites will always cause issues.

The website also may be malfunctioning. Typically when you get a JavaScript error it is an error within the code itself.

Since you are running IE 8 I would recommend you use a 3rd party browser such as Chrome due to you will be able to view websites at full HTML 5 and CSS3.

It will also add much better security since IE 8 no longer receives security updates.

Since my original thread regarding this problem is closed (too old, from November 2008), I am continuing it on this new thread.

As a reminder, somehow for some strange reason, my Windows XP Pro SP2 laptop stopped giving me warnings for unsigned downloadable programs. I tried (almost?) everything conceivable to fix that - to no avail. Here is the original thread:

I *want* the "Publisher Could Not be Verified" warning!

I eventually got to implementing the last suggestion (sfc /scannow), but that didn't help either.

I am out of ideas, totally baffled by this mystery.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

A:I *want* the "Publisher Could Not be Verified" warning (cont'd)

Eureka! I can't believe this... I think that I solved the mystery: Said warning does appear but only for programs that I download via Internet Explorer!

I was testing this function all that time by downloading via Firefox 2.0...

Apparently, the hint has always been there, in the form of the registry key path: as its name implies, it is intended for Internet Explorer. Duh!

However, I could swear that it worked via Firefox, too, on the other machine. The other machine has Firefox 3.0. Is it possible that Firefox 3.0 supports this feature while Firefox 2.0 doesn't?

My toolbar contains an icon that links to a program in my "C:\Program Files (x86)\" folder. Every single time I click on the icon I get the attached pop-up window. The window keeps appearing even if I uncheck "Always ask before opening this file" and click "Run" and enter in the admin username and password. Why does the message keep appearing and how do I disable it entirely?

I'm running Windows 8.1 and I have an old version of photoshop elements in my x86 program files (it's elements 4.0, please don't laugh). I have UAC on the next to last setting before disabling it altogether. When I launch elements, UAC asks me if I trust it because it's an unknown publisher. I don't want to disable UAC, but I want it to trust elements and not popup the "are you really sure" box each time.

A:UAC-How do I "trust" a program from an unknown publisher?

Hello Jigawatt, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Would that be an "Open File - Security Warning" dialog prompt like below instead of UAC?

If so, then unblocking the file should stop it.

I made an emergency assembly map for my company last week.
I noticed there were a few things I wanted to change on it. For some reason when I open the file now, it shows this:

I am running windows 7.
If I click ok and open the file, all the words are in the wrong locations.
Is there any way to fix this?

this is more of an annoyance than a real problem but I'd sure like to know how to stop it from happening.

I work for a small company, doing Technical support. We have three of four applications that I have to open every day, programs written internally by our programming department. The programs sit out on a server, but I have a local shortcut and confuguration file to run them over the Network. Every time I close and re-open these programs, I get the infernal warning message:

"The Publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?"
Underneath is the message "this file does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher. You should only run software from publishers that you trust"

I have to click "run" to get it to launch, and it opens fine. It just irks me that I can't figure out how to tell Windows to quit bothering me and just open the program!

Is there not some place where I can go and tell Windows which programs to open it every time, and add it to a trusted list somehow?

A:turn off "Publisher could not be verified" message

thanks !! that seems to have worked, that means any .exe file will run without prompting.
I'm a bit surprised there's no method to selectively choose individual .exe files, like a firewall program can do.

A:How do I disable the "This publisher could not be verified." warning?!

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

I don't want to preach, but before you disable warnings of this kind you may wish to consider you have a possible virus infection.

I'd be inclined to run a full virus scan in Safe Mode, for which Malwarebytes is highly recommended.

Maybe faulty memory

Hi,

The culprit is faulty memory. You can run memtest to stress the ram. If memtest reports the ram is faulty, ram is bad. However Memtest is not a perfect tool to test the memory as some faulty ram can pass memtest.

Suggestion
1. Check the temperature of the CPU and make sure that it is not overheat (ie temperature < 60C)
Make sure that the CPU fan works properly
2. Reseat the memory stick to another memory slot. Reseat video card as well.
3. Downclock the ram. Check to default setting if you video card is overclocked.
4. Clean the dust inside the computer case
5. Make sure that the ram is compatible to the motherboard
6. Check the bios setting about memory timing and make sure that it is on
For example : DIMM1 and DIMM2 do not have the same timing.
DIMM1: Corsair CMX512-3200C2 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (2.5-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz) (2.0-3-3-7 @ 166 MHz)
DIMM2: Corsair CMX512-3200C2 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz)
DIMM3: Corsair CMX512-3200C2 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz)
7. Make sure that your PSU have adequate power to drive all the hardware including USB devices
8. Run chkdsk /r at command prompt
9. Run 3DMark 2005 to test your video card
10. Upgrade BIOS

If it still crashes, diagnostic which memory stick is faulty
Take out one memory stick. If windows does not crash, the removed memory stick is faulty.
If you have only one memory stick, replace the ram

I need help. Someone installed SpyBot 1.4 on my advice. Now they can not access the internet. They said they received an error when they attempted their first scan and it locked up the PC. Now, if you go back and try the Recovery, you get a Registry recovery error.

They are connected to the internet via USB DSL modem/router. They are receiving a private IP address and Gateway from the modem and can ping the modem. However, nothing past the modem can be pinged.

Just to double-check, I had them connect via dial-up with the same results.

They are running W98SE.

Any suggestions?

My operating system is Vista and I have been using Microsoft office 2007 “Document Imaging” for OCR and passing the text to Word. Recently it has been exhibiting strange behavior.

When I try to send the text to Word (“Send text to Word&#8221, “Document Imagining” gives an error message:
“Server Busy. This action cannot be completed because the ‘document 1 - Microsoft Word’ program is not responding. …”. However, an empty Word document window appears anyway.

When I minimize the empty Word document window, a small dialog box appears asking me “Do you want to convert from
[list of file formats] to Word?” If I select HTML, the text appears in Word.
Sometimes the Word/”Document Imaging” programs hang up completely, in which case I have to go to “Task Manager” to get out of the predicament.

I have uninstalled and re-installed “Microsoft Office 2007” with no success in solving the problem. However, if I I implement "Document Imaging" on a different computer (also with Vista), everything works as expected.

Can anyone tell me what is going on? How can I go directly to Word instead of having to convert from HTML? How did it get to HTML in the first place?

Hello,

In Microsoft Excel 2003, I have a column that has dates listed in this format: '01.01.2008', rather than, say, '01/01/2008'. This format is a requirement.

In the column that contains these dates, I have set each cell to have a date format to them as well as a custom setting that replaced the "/" with a ".". The problem, however, is that it can now no longer sort the dates correctly.

Is anyone able to tell me how I can modify or correct this so that I can have the dates listed in the '01.01.2008' format and still sort them as I normally would?

Thank you in advance!

Hi, i am new to this. I am having this problem with a IE popup this few days.

What happen is, whenever I restart my cpu, before I can click on anything else, these IE popups will appear. A popup appear. Window title is "* * * *** System Warning! Microsoft Internet Explorer" and "Warning: PC Update - Microsoft Internet Explorer". I can leave my cpu on and it will keep popping up. Can get over 20 of the same windows though I am not browsing (in fact, not working with my cpu at all)

Don't know if this is created by the same problem.. that is, when I am bhrowsing with IE, I get redirected to http://www.yupsearch.com/search.php very often.

I have got Ad-aware6 installed on my cpu, but this time round, it is not working to remove my problems completely. Tried installing MSN toolbar hoping this will block popup... but it will not work after cpu restarts.

Please advise on how I can remove the popups and the redirection problem...

Thanks and regards.

Has any other business gotten this? We got a letter from Microsoft corperation that their Office 2003 suite contained 3rd party code and they require for us to stay licensed and compliant that all installs have to be upgraded to SP 2 and then to SP 3 when it gets released...

It does not go into specifics but is on Microsoft company paper and is addressed from them so I am not thinking this to be some kind of HOAX... but I can't find anything mentioned online about it at all on the internet.

Has anyone else seen this does anyone have a link to the story as to who the third party and why they are sending out this letter and what was infringed upon enough to require a mailing to customers? Is there one "main" or "latest" build I can keep and remove the rest or something like that? Here's a list of programs I have on my computer. It's a gaming PC, so there's only games :)

-Minecraft
-Starcraft 2
-CoD5
-TF2
-CS:S
-L4D2
-Gmod
-League of Legends
-Firefox
-Chrome
-IE (ew :P)

It's fine if I need all of these runtime programs, but I wanted to see if I could save some space.

EDIT: Included attachment of all the Visual programs.

A:[SOLVED] Multiple "Microsoft Visual C++" Runtimes

You should leave them all alone as different apps require different versions of Visual C++ runtime (to match the version of Visual C++ that was used to create those apps), as well as some being 32-bit & some being 64-bit in your case.

That's why Visual C++ runtime installations no longer overwrite existing versions as used to be the case in the bad old days causing some apps to be "broken".

None of them are taking up much disk space by today's standards where multi-gigabyte disks are commonplace.

I have installed Outlook (which looks more like OE than Live mail, perhaps) and started using it. I am fairly happy. The only thing that bugs me is that it starts up with two windows and two tabs, one of which is the calendar functionality. I can close that down again but it is a pain. Is there a way of executing Outlook so that only Inbox appears? I want to disable the calendar completely and never see it again.

I use an online, cloud computing, calendar since I have many computers and waiting for calendars to synchronise is something I can do without.

-Noticed problem when loading new CAD software and it would not run. The CAD software tech support determined that there is an issue with my Microsoft net-framework. They could not repair it, and it would not accept a downloaded replacement file of Net-Framework 2.0.

-Also when I tried to open up another application a message pops up on my screen with "Microsoft .NET Assembloy Registration Utility has encountered a problem and needs to close."

- I also tried to run a ( SFC ) system file checker, as it was suggested in one of the forums. That did not work because I did not have the right CD to put in.

Please help. I am looking for a simple solution.

Hello,
does anyone have any information about this tool called: "Clarify" and what this software or tool is for?
As far as I do, it has something to do with Microsoft but I'm not sure. So, any comments and suggestions are really more than welcome.

Maybe someone knows a link to some site to find an explanation of the tool/SW.
Thanks
